The way I see it, Andrew was like a garden stake for Neil and Kevin: he couldn't do their growing for them, but he could be the solid, unbending support rod that they could use to grow toward the sky without having to worry about falling to the ground when they were not ready to hold themselves up ("the main function of a garden stake is to ensure that a young or weak plant can hold itself up against the elements").

And I think that's what Kevin and Neil are trying to be for Jean now. They are finally steady enough on their own that they're able to support someone else, and Jean needs them.

Kevin provides guidelines that make sense within Jean's worldview (you have a new master, obey him by going to LA and building a new life for yourself / you made me a promise so you can't kill yourself), he asks Betsy to break his own patient confidentiality as much as she needs to show Jean that Kevin trusts her and he can too, he coaches Jeremy on how to best support Jean (if you tell him to submit, he will / he will need someone to go to class with him / he will fall apart without a buddy system).

Neil encourages Jean to make meaningful connections with people because it will help keep him safe, he anchors Jean when dealing with the FBI, he actively removes a threat to Jean's safety so it won't hinder his slow growth, he uses a lil bit of emotional manipulation to drive the message home that Jean is worth saving, he makes himself someone Jean can talk to about the things only the two of them understand.

Jeremy, Cat, Laila, Rhemann, the Trojans, they are all vital for Jean's healing, the soil in which he'll put down roots; but it's Kevin and Neil who have been in his position before and know exactly what they needed to survive and thrive in a new environment. Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari is huge. Few things;

First, poor Carlos, having to announce his own departure is brutal.

Second, if Toto really only did find out yesterday, why? Was Lewis afraid he would change his mind? Guilt? Is the W15 a disaster?

Third, Ferrari was the only other option. There was very little chance he would wind up at Redbull. Max is first driver, Christian Horner has admitted to not seeing a future with him.

Fourth, BONO?! He signed an extension contract. So the question is does he have an out clause as well? Will Lewis buy him out? Can he? Will Bono even choose Lewis?

Fifth, Team Loyalty is a big deal in modern F1, but that's the key, it's modern. F1 drivers used to change teams more frequently. We've seen it even now. Alonso has been on six teams total, with separate stints at different times for Renault and McLaren. Kimi drove for five teams. Seb drove for five teams. Checo, five, and so on. Hamilton's stint with Mercedes is unprecedented. 17 years total. Not something to scoff at, but unprecedented. It shouldn't be treated as some ultimate betrayal. He was the exception to the rule.

Sixth, I think Lewis implicitly trusts Fred Vasseur. Do I? No. Do I think that the rumors going around about poaching Red Bull staff and the fact that we don't know about Bono or Andrew could mean that Lewis's side of the garage is stacked exactly how he wants it.

Seventh, Charles is not going to be second driver, not really. Yes, you don't bring a driver like Lewis in to make him second fiddle, but I think that the hope is that Charles will learn what he's been missing, and I love Charles but there are definitely moments that demonstrated room for growth. Lewis has always talked about how much the sport has changed, and even though it is his complaints that make headlines, his positive enforcement of some of these changes is a good attitude to bring. Charles is the 'Il Predestinato' they just want to make sure that he's the best version of it they can get.

Eighth, The Mercedes garage is going to spin this season. Their PR team is going to work like never before. They're going to spin the narrative to George, they're going to isolate Lewis. He can't be in the future development meetings anymore, he's the competition. His colleagues of a decade can no longer trust him and that is sure to be lonely. They're not going to let that be the story. I think we might even be seeing some of it already. The question as to whether or not Toto knew in advance, coming out against the fact that allegedly Sainz and LeClerc have known for at least a couple weeks, is interesting and I'm intrigued at the level of truth.

Ninth, Whether you like Lewis or not, there were moments last season that the team shafted him. Prioritizing his teammate when he was in a better position, abandoning him on podium, etc. Lewis was so supportive of Susie and Toto, George didn't even bother to do anything other than repost the official statement. Lewis was Jack's hero, now all of a sudden, George is the one on vacations, and teaching him carting. The relationship has been slowly fracturing since Abu Dhabi 2021. Whether or not Lewis leaves on a good note at the end of the season will depend on if Mercedes will even give him the time of day. This could very well be Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren.

Finally, I don't think Lewis Hamilton has ever been the type to pull the rug out from someone without cause. He's always been a huge target in the F1 community and I think he's been ready for a change for a while. It's hard to make a change, especially when you're leaving something that once treated you so well. If it is true that he gave Mercedes no proper warning then hopefully he apologizes and explains. We're not entitled to know, but they are.

Stephen has always been a loud and proud boyfriend.

He’s never shied away from talking about you to his friends and family, gushing over how much he loves you and what a truly awesome person he thinks you are. Whether it's a casual get-together or a family reunion, his affection and admiration for you are always at the forefront.

Yet, as you lean against a plain wall in one of the many crammed rooms in the Olympic village, filled with a TV crew and cameras and boom mics, there’s a waver of confidence in you as you sit on the sidelines, watching Stephen take part in one of the many interviews of the day. For a second, just a second, a thought crosses your mind. What if he doesn’t bring you up? What if he ignores the question or tries to change the subject? You understand that this is the brightest the spotlight has ever been on Stephen, and that he is entitled to as much privacy as he can get. Stephen giggles lightly, which makes you smile, and he nods. “Oh yeah, she’s super supportive! I’ve got my own little cheerleader over here,” he laughs for a second. “No, I mean I don’t think I would’ve bounced back in a lot of the ways I have without her.”

The interviewer cocks her head slightly, and you can tell immediately that she’s going to take a jab at that. “What do you mean by that?”

“I mean she’s so enthusiastic about what I do and is so energetic that it’s kinda hard to sulk around and feel sorry for myself when I mess up because she’s just ready to help me try again. It’s like I’m taking a shot of espresso whenever she’s around.” He laughs once more, this time looking over at you which immediately makes your cheeks heat up.

You feel a nudge then and you break eye contact, glancing to your right to see Brody looking at you with the cliché ‘ooooh, someone's got a crush’ look. Rolling your eyes gently, yet still smiling, you turn your attention back to your boyfriend. The moment is fully pure, filled with such genuine affection, that you can't help but feel a swell of pride in your chest.

Thankfully the interview doesn’t last much longer, because as hard as you tried to pay attention to the remaining couple of minutes, your mind was in a constant rewind mode, replaying what your boyfriend said over and over. You don’t actually notice that it’s over until you notice Brody shuffling away from you and you look up to see Stephen walking over. His stride is confident, his eyes locked onto yours, and your heart flutters in anticipation.

Your smile brightens more as he reaches you, his hand immediately finding your waist and pulling you close into him. His smile matches yours and you just stand for a second, smiling like idiots as you stare at each other. The world around you fades away, leaving just the two of you in your own perfect bubble. You then stretch up a tad, moving to push his glasses back up his nose and you lean in closer.

“A shot of espresso, huh?” You say quietly, eyebrows rising slightly. Your voice is soft, filled with a mixture of amusement and affection.

He laughs, looking away for a second before plastering a serious expression on his face. “Yeah, you fill me with energy and make me feel ready for the day and, y’know,” he pauses for a split second before lowering his voice. “I love drinking you—”

“Stephen Nedoroscik, behave,” You whisper sternly, but as a satisfied grin works its way onto his face, you can’t help but laugh just a little. “You better pray to God that those microphones are off now.”

“I said it quietly,” he says with an innocent shrug, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

i feel like when Aaron found out that Andrew drugged Matt for his sake he might've spoken to Matt, maybe to apologise, maybe not, but just to say something.

imagine feeling like your brother doesn't give a shit about you, thinking that you're not even on his radar of people worth caring about, and then you find out that he did that? that he did what he did to you, but so much worse, to someone you hardly even know? and not only that, but he did it for you?

picture Matt, in Abby's place, sick and pale, sleeping most of the time when he's not a crying, sweating mess. he apologises to Abby constantly, sorry for how he looks, how he smells, how violently ill he is because of Andrew. tensions are high everywhere, people are disappointed and angry, and nobody knows how to treat the situation. are we angry at Andrew? are we angry at Matt, for taking the drugs in the first place? are we disappointed that this even happened at all?

and Aaron knocks on the door, a shy and hesitant rap of his knuckles on wood, and when he steps in the room, it takes Matt a second to realise it's Aaron, not Andrew. he doesn't even know the twins well enough yet to tell the difference, but Aaron's wearing something that shows he's not wearing the arm bands. so he knows it's Aaron.

"you don't have to be here," Matt croaks, his voice hoarse from disuse, raw from the acid of his stomach that has stayed mostly empty over the last few days. "sign a get well soon card like the rest of them."

"you look rough." Aaron says, an observation that gets a weak laugh from Matt. "how do you feel?"

"about as good as you can imagine," Matt shuffles up in the bed, and covers his mouth to try and stop a wave of nausea that hits him as he moves. Aaron looks away, seeing himself in the bed, knowing how this feels. "let's skip this part, man. i'm too tired. what do you want?"

maybe Aaron can't say it, he doesn't know the right words, maybe he doesn't even know for certain that Andrew did it for him at all. but he knows, of course he does. why else would he? Aaron looks at him, he looks at the circles around his eyes, the sweat on his forehead, and the for-now empty puke bowl on the bedside table.

Aaron wasn't even sure why he came in the first place. Abby stopped him outside, just barely knowing his history with drugs, and told him that Matt was not a pretty sight - it was hard to see, hard to look at. she told him not to go in, to leave it another day or two, or even until Matt could bare to stand up to leave her apartment. does Matt know? was he told? is he going to hate Aaron now, more than he already does, if he tells him why he thinks Andrew has put him in this position? will Matt even believe him if he tells him that he gets it? is it even worth the breath it'd take to say i'm sorry?

maybe Aaron thinks about opting for something else - some support in the way of an i get it, or an it's going to be okay, while knowing that's the last thing he would've wanted to hear in Matt's position. Aaron knows he would've told anyone that offered their shitty, meaningless words of support to him in that position to fuck off and mind their own business, but instead Matt sits there, and he waits, and he listens.

"Andrew didn't do it to kill you," he says, not even the words that he meant to say at all. "he doesn't care about you enough to bother."

"i know." Matt says, and Aaron looks at him like he's not sure how he can be so certain. "but he didn't do it for himself, either, did he?"

does sorry even feel like enough? would Aaron's empathy and understanding be meaningful at all, as Matt lay there, his energy sapped and his brain not working as it should?

i think regardless of how that conversation goes, or where it happens, or how it happens, Matt and Aaron have some sort of understanding between them - Matt is angry that Andrew did this for Aaron, that it was Aaron's fault, in a way, that this happened to him, but he knows it wasn't Aaron's choice. he sees that guilty look in his eyes as he walks into that room, and knows that Aaron had nothing to do with what happened that night. Aaron knows that Matt doesn't blame him, and he gets it - maybe. maybe Matt sees how sick Aaron looks as he looks back at him, how his mouth is downturned in an uncomfortable frown that he poorly tries to hide. maybe if Aaron did apologise, on his own behalf, on Andrew's behalf, maybe Matt wouldn't even accept it anyway. because he knows what temptation can do, he knows what seeing an addict does to an addict. he knows why Andrew did it, if anything else, and he knows why Aaron needed him clean.

i don't know where this is going, really, but i just wonder if they ever spoke about it - if Aaron ever approached Matt in those early days, if they ever understood each other in such a way that knows why they both lay or stood in the positions that they did. just a thought.

Question: Why does The King want Prince Andrew out of The Royal Lodge?

Note: The energy from the cards as I was shuffling was a very impatient energy. Whatever plans The King has for this house, he wants them to be put into action now, today, this minute.

Interpretation: It's all about Harry

Card One: The Knight of Pentacles.

This is the card for a Virgo person, and Harry is a sun sign Virgo, so this has to do with Harry. I haven't been told how it has to do with Harry in this reading, but it definitely concerns him. His energy is pouring off this card.

The other energy from this card is that things are moving too slowly for The King. All Knights are action cards, and the Knight of Pentacles is the slowest of the knights, so it indicates slow progress. This is taking longer than The King wants. The impatient energy of the whole reading is coming through again here - it is taking too long and The Long wants it done now (i.e. he wants Prince Andrew out of The Royal Lodge now).

Card Two: The Four of Swords in reverse.

This is a card about re-entering the world after you have withdrawn from it for a while. That withdrawal can be to rest and recover from your wounds, or it can be to mend a broken reputation. It can be seen as a release from isolation or the end of a time of recovery.

The energy from this cardis not as strong as the first card. I think that The King wants to use The Royal Lodge as a place of retreat and recovery for Prince Harry, where he can gradually re-emerge as a member of the BRF and his past being forgotten/forgiven. I'm not saying that this will work, but that is the sense I am getting from the cards - using The Royal Lodge as a place of retreat, somehow. It could be that The King wants to turn it into a general place of recovery with Harry as the first inpatient. I'm not sure. The energy is of withdrawing and then re-emerging in the world with your past sins forgiven and your reputation sponged clean of whatever you did before you went into the retreat. The Royal Lodge could be that place of retreat, literally, or it could be involved in some other way.

Card Three: The Six of Pentacles

This is a card of generosity, of giving and receiving, of material help and support. The energy of this card is of The King giving support to Harry. It looks like The King is planning to use The Royal Lodge to support Harry in some way, either as his home while his reputation is rehabilitated (which seems the most likely thing) or as a place of retreat for him.

I'm not saying that this will work, in fact I'm pretty sure it won't work as I can't see the people of the UK taking kindly to Harry being back as part of the royal family at all, but this is the energy I am getting from this card - an energy of generosity, of gifting the house or material support to someone, which the first card tells me is Prince Harry, and of supporting him in a material sense.

Maybe it is as simple as Prince Andrew has to go before The King can do something about Harry, and The Royal Lodge does not figure in his plans for Harry at all - but that doesn't seem 100% right now I have typed it.

Underlying Energy: The Eight of Swords.

This is a card of being stressed, especially mentally stressed. It can mean feeling trapped or restricted in some way, or feeling like a victim. It is a mental trap - you are stuck in a situation in your mind and you can't see a way out.

I'm getting an energy of reluctance from this card. I actually don't think The King wants to boot Prince Andrew out of The Royal Lodge per se, but he has to because of his plans for Harry. If Harry wasn't involved, then I feel that Prince Andrew could stay in The Royal Lodge as long as he wants (once the monies are sorted out - who pays for what etc). However, Harry is involved, and so The King has to take care of Prince Andrew before he can take care of Prince Harry.

The situation is causing The King a lot of stress. I think that is why he wants it to be over, so he doesn't suffer the mental stress he is currently experiencing.

Conclusion:

This has to do with Harry and rehabilitating Harry's reputation. I don't know if The King wants The Royal Lodge as a house for Harry (which is definitely one way you could read the cards) or whether he is dealing with Prince Andrew as a prerequisite to rehabilitating Prince Harry, or whether it is both of those things together, but this is definitely about Harry as the central motivation.

The situation is causing The King a lot of mental stress, and the sooner it is over the happier he will be.

-Renee : I can see her being a faux-calm and actually being a strategic demon in the arena, again she's not too tall, she's a fighter at heart which is absolutely NEEDED for that sport but it's incredibly balanced by her sweet temper which would do wonder with a horse, prime defense line rider.

-Kevin : yes but no, like the temperament is here, but too tall and for some reason I see him as a really stiff human, like he never heard of flexibility in his whole life 😂. Sorry Kev, you would have loved trying to run over someone with a horse cause they play like shit.

-Andrew : heck yes. Seriously dude's strong, he's also small (so yay to be able to ride a smaller more agile horses) and he would take absolutely no shit ever. I also think his chill and respectful of boundaries temperament would do absolute wonders with a horse, especially the hot blooded ones we have in this sport

-Aaron : yes....but no. Yes for the same morphology reasons as Andrew (duh) but idk, he gives scared of horses vibes (sorry babe)

-Nicky : probably a tad too tall but I don't see him as bulky so it might work, probably ok player but might have too much survival instinct to bend down to get the ball in the middle of galloping horse, idk.

-Neil : absolutely, 100% yes, where can I find him I need to sign him up asap. Like he's small, he's fast, he's aggressive, he has stamina and no survival instinct, perfect player 😂😂😂

I too do not condone murder in the slightest; however, I portray fictional murders, stalking, and all other non-safe events in my series as something that you should NOT do in real life. I also do not write the events of real murders in non-educational views + twisting the true story in order to try and gain fame and fortune from another's unfortunate reality (looking at the questionable TV shows like Jeffery Dahmer and such...)

HOWEVER, everything in Star Patient is fictional, and is supposed to be written and viewed as grotesque, something that should not be replicated in real life, and is meant to unsettle you for a nice thrill or at least cope with fantasies in a very safe way that shouldn't mingle with real life.

With that being said, allow me to get on with the spoilers. Please note, chapter 8 is still being written so everything may not be the final draft. These spoilers will be solely bits of dialogue. I will not directly give out who said what, and I also will not provide any clues as to what's happening as to not destroy any shock value or plot twists in future chapters. Now that i think about it,,, isn't Matt... the first male to ever show healthy skinship and physical affection to Neil? like... EVER???? OH MY GOD????

i love the hc that Andrew completely understands the difference in the relationship with touch that Neil and him have. He understands that Neil is touch starved and that physical touch is a need for him. (Do you think he noticed that since the beginning? since he was fairly touchy with Neil throughout the story compared to anyone else?) I think he would never get in the way of letting Neil get what he needs, especially from the foxes. Especially if its something he knows he won't be able to properly provide for Neil. 

(I also think that this way of thinking about Neil kinda pushes him to maybe? hopefully? start viewing the concept of a support system a little bit more than apathetically.)

Back to Matt and Neil. I really wanna see if Neil ever reaches a point where he actively goes out of his way to seek from comfort from Matt. (We know both Matt and Dan are very keen on comforting the lost kitten of the team. Re: Nora saying: "[Neil is to the foxes] That cat that hides under the stoop and stares at you like Can I please come home with you but who turns tail and runs as soon as you try to befriend it.") 

We know Matt would comfort him with a warm cup and a welcoming seat for him on their sofa, without a second thought. But the question is, would Neil ask for it? Or, how long would it take for Neil to start to know how to ask for it?

I think that how it begins is that Neil finds himself needing that kind of comfort, finds himself on his former dorm's doorstep, but doesn't know how to go on from here. 

I think that Matt, emotionally smart and empathetic Matt, wouldn't need a second look at Neil's face in the doorway to know what he needs: a hug, an ear to listen, touch, warmth. 

I think that after that happens, Neil has a talk with Matt. At first, Neil's initial reaction that he can't shake off is fear that someone was able to read something in him that he himself wasn't able to detect. But the secondary reaction is comfort in knowing Matt, his friend Matt, knows him so well that he would know how to help, even if Neil himself wouldn't know.

I think that Neil genuinely asks Matt how he knew what he needed, how he knew he was gonna feel better after that. Because he did. At that question, Matt's heart squeezes painfully as he realises he is the person that is going to teach Neil how friends comfort each other this way. And as he does, he sees something in Neil's eyes that squeezes his heart yet again.

And that is why i think Neil and Matt's friendship is very underrated. i love them so much.

"I can't believe we've made it to the final. I still have to pinch myself!"

"Like this?" Ben said, squeezing June's butt cheek.

"Chilwell!" she laughed.

"You said you had been pinching yourself."

"It was in a manner of speaking, you idiot" she replied, twisting his nipple.

"Hey!" he complained. "Though that was welcomed."

"Does it turn you on when I pinch your nipple?" June smirked, moving to look him in the eyes.

"No. I mean, a bit… But no. That isn't what I meant."

"Then?" 

"I have to pinch myself too because I can't believe this is real. Us being together" he said, caressing her cheek. "I still feel like any moment now I'm gonna wake up at the hospital after a crisis and that all this has been a dream. The best of my life, but just a dream."

"It isn't a dream, Chilwell. It is very real. This" she said, kissing his nose "is very real. And so is this" she continued, kissing both his cheeks. "And this" she whispered before leaving a soft kiss on his lips. "But if all that still feels like something from a dream, feel this" she said, taking his hand and putting it on her chest. "Feel the way my heart is beating. I had forgotten it was possible for it to go this fast for someone. Because of someone. I thought that after being broken in a million pieces, it would not be able to go back to what it used to be, that it could not be fixed, healed. Able to love again. And then you came into my life with your stupid facts and…"

"I love you, June" Ben interrupted her. 

"I hadn't finished my speech, Chilwell" she replied, rolling her eyes. "But I lo…" 

"Chilly, are you there?" Andrew said, knocking on his room's door.

"You've got to be kidding me" June groaned, resting her forehead on Ben's chest.

"Quite busy right now!" he replied, raising  his voice so Andrew could hear him.

"Well, wrap it up! We have some last minute things to film."

"Now?"

"Yes, now. See you downstairs in five" Andrew said before leaving.

"Duty calls."

"Duty can go to hell" June said while hugging him as tight as she could.

"Just three more days, June. Three days and we will be lying in the sun on a tropical island, just the two of us, celebrating that you are a World Cup winner."

"That does sound like a dream" she chuckled. "But if we win, it won't be three days. Because we will have to fly back, then we will have all the celebrations, the official visits…"

"Ok, fine. A week. A week and we will be together without no one bothering us."

"That's more like it" she smiled. "Now go shower before Andrew comes back and kicks the door down. I should probably get going too, I want to do some yoga before dinner."

"Wasn't everything we've done enough for today's workout?" Ben smirked.

"For my cardio, yes. But I want to stretch and keep my flexibility."

"I like your flexibility."

"I know" June replied, matching his smile. "Now go."

"Yes, ma'am" he said, kissing her nose and making her giggle before leaving the bed. 

The moment he walked into the bathroom and she was alone, June had to pinch herself. And this time it wasn't in a manner of speaking. Because this was real. Everything she felt for Ben, everything that was going on with her career after her injury, all this happiness… It was all real.

"June, before you leave us, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for taking this trophy home, for the tournament every single one of you have given us, for how you've fought and made us enjoy watching football, but most importantly… Thank you for your hard work these past months. I know how tough it has been, that you've worked your ass off literally and figuratively to be here today. And it's all been because how much you love this sport and everyone involved. So thank you, June. Thank you."

"Aww, Andrew. Come here" she said, hugging him. "You've made me cry on live tv."

"Sorry" he chuckled. "But I've meant every word."

"I know" June smiled.

"Now whatever Chilly and I say is gonna sound stupid or worthless" Jacob laughed.

"It will" Ben chuckled, his eyes fixed on June. He was trying really hard to stay composed and not show his emotions too much. Again. 

When she had scored he had gone crazy, screaming and clapping until his hands hurt. Andrew and Jacob had gone as mad as he had, which thankfully had made his reaction less odd. But standing there in front of a camera, and once everyone had calmed down a bit and it was just happy faces everywhere you looked, he couldn't let his feelings take over him. He couldn't just kiss June and tell her how proud he was of her and of everything she had achieved even if the whole country knew that they were together. At least not yet. 

"Well, in that case, I think it's time we let June be free so she can keep celebrating with the girls" Andrew laughed.  

"There is something I must do before I go, tho" she said. 

"Oh, ok."

"Can you please hold this for us?" she asked Andrew, giving him her microphone and Ben's.

"Sure" he replied, not sure about what was going on.

"June…" Ben said. She was going to do something crazy. He could see it in her eyes, on the way she was looking at him.

"I love you too" she smiled before throwing herself at him, making him lose his balance a bit when she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. 

She had done it. She had finally told Ben that she loved him, and she had done it in front of the whole world to see, no one interrupting her this time. 

She was sure their kiss would be all over the internet in just a few minutes, that people who had never heard their names before would get to see it too. But she didn't care. Nothing else mattered. It was her and Ben, her lips on his. 

"Ok… That was unexpected" Jacob said while June and Ben kept kissing.

"Was it?" Andrew chuckled, more cameras and people with phones starting to surround them, all of them wanting to immortalise the moment.

"You are fucking crazy, Maxwell" Ben laughed when they managed to stop kissing.

"It's your lips, Chilwell. They were made to be kissed I can't help myself."

"And what you said before kissing me?"

"What about it?"

"Did you mean it?"

"With every fiber in my body. I love you, Ben Chilwell."

"I love you too, June Maxwell" he smiled before kissing her again, more and more people surrounding them while Andrew and Jacob tried to protect them, to give them some privacy. 

After so many years of being heartbroken, of thinking she would never be able to love again, June had found herself falling head over heels for someone with also a broken heart. Ben's was physically and hers was emotionally, but they had somehow healed the other. 

It hadn't been easy, definitely a bumpy ride. But neither of them would change it for anything in the world.

It's the part where Peter makes the "I love you" on a bridge and then takes Gwen and they make it up to each other... Can't help but see miles and Gwen do that as well. -Ok so that's my fav fanart but I'm absolutely in love with their beautiful family! Their kids look so beautiful and them being together is something I treasure a lot! I love how you made the kids different then the comics and also the way you made Miles and Gwen! They look so good! I love Gwen's side braids and Miles haircut it's like... I don't see him doing it BUT I freaking love the spider detail in the side! I even told my friend that if I had my hair like Gwen someday I would add that detail! It looks so good! Agreed. Andrew is my favorite version of Peter, the vibe of his movies really speak to me. I love the scene you’ve mentioned, but it breaks my heart because of Gwen’s fate. However I would love to do that for Miles and Gwen. Right now I’ve got a lot of pieces in progress, so don’t expect it right away, but if I find a chance to do it I will ✨

I really enjoyed drawing their kiddos and had every intention of drawing them differently from the comics. I wanted to do my own interpretation of their kids since the spiderverse style if different from the comics. I actually based Gwen’s braids on some of her concept art, I loved that look (it’s viking-ish which I dig) so I wanted to do something with it.

Though Miles and Gwen 42 are not exactly canon, I still love the idea of them and so I’m glad you have enjoyed what I have made.

Just so you know, I’m very moved by what you said and all your heartfelt thoughts about my art. It’s lovely to hear what you think and how it has given you joy. It’s all I could’ve asked for as an artist so I hope you know how grateful I am 🩷

I was thinking about my ask about Matt and Trey hugging and it kinda does seem like Matt is deliberately avoiding hugging Trey. This is just a guess, I don't really have any info to support this hypothesis. But maybe Trey doesn't like hugging people in general?? Has he hugged someone else before?? I really don't know.

There's a huge chance I'm wrong but maybe Trey doesn't like being hugged so Matt is just respecting his personal space?? It would honestly give more context why Matt gave Trey an air hug instead of walking up to him and hugging him. The hug from Baseketball could be an exception and just him acting. But in social situations he doesn't like it.

I donno do you think this theory has any truth to it?

Ooh, hello again 😊 That’s an interesting theory, and it’s had me pondering all morning! (No worries RE: guessing, providing evidence. It’s fun to think about these things, and look for patterns, especially when we recognise that it’s all speculation.)

First, I’m not sure if Matt’s deliberately avoiding hugging Trey, though I must admit it does appear that way, and if the reason is he’s respecting Trey’s boundaries, I’m totally on board with that. However, there may not have been many opportunities for a genuine hug between them to be captured on film.

A few things come to mind that might contribute to not having visuals of M&T hugs:

Men often aren’t huggers 🤷‍♀️ That could be a sweeping statement, skewed through my cultural lens as a Brit, but at least in my experience, guys don’t hug that much.

The times we get to see M&T are often red carpets, appearances, interviews, documentaries, etc., and those aren’t really conducive to hugging. They wouldn’t hug in greeting, for example, if they’d already hung out backstage or spent the whole day together already. Those types of hugs all probably occur “off camera.”

We’ve got pics of them (most likely) drunk hugging/grabbing each other, so it’s not something they won’t do, but that could further support that hugging doesn’t really come up that often for them in their public appearances.

That being said, other forms of physical touch don’t seem to be off the table for them. As I mentioned in the hug post, they often rest their head on or put their arms around each other, which might contradict the theory that Trey doesn't like being touched.

Related: @behind-the-blow pointed out a moment (that I can't find right now, argh!!) in which Matt touches Trey’s arm as they’re walking onstage to accept an award. It might've been awkward if they’d walked up there and just hugged each other, but Matt's touch conveyed so much while also taking into account that they’re stood before a massive audience.

I feel it’s worth considering too how M&T get physically close with others (besides their partners and children, where hugs are probably a given.) John Stamos immediately comes to mind! I know next to nothing about this man, but he seems to exhibit some sort of gravitational pull that makes Matt and Trey more open to physical proximity. Perhaps that’s just how John is, so it rubs off on those around him. That gives weight to your theory that Trey might not like hugging in general, if it takes someone who's openly tactile to get him into that mindset.

I mean, look at this guy’s power!

There’s also this lovely pic of Trey with Andrew Rannells that lives in my head rent free.

It reminds me so much of how Trey cuddles up to Matt in some pictures. It’s physically quite intimate, but again, perhaps not as much as a hug is.

Again, I’ve rambled on 😅, but I definitely think there could be truth in your theory. I could also believe Matt isn’t into hugging, Trey isn’t, or neither of them are, or it's simply not something they’re comfortable doing in public, or it just doesn't come up very often. Either way, it'd make my life if we did get footage of them hugging!!! I've got my fingers crossed we'll get something like that in the upcoming Casa Bonita documentary!! 🕯️🕯️🕯️
