hi! Is it okay if I ask for Andrew Kreiss with a reader that’s very shy and obedient and quiet? Like, I can imagine Andrew having to ask what reader has said because they’re very silent! Thank you very much! I love your work!

i fear both of you are at a disadvantage now :,)

andrew can't stand up for himself, let alone anyone else... he's so conflicted because he gets paralyzed in any social situation YET he can't simply leave you alone to fight for yourself. that would be too cruel.

when he first met you, already so flustered and anxious, he felt bad on multiple occasions when he had to ask you to repeat what you just said or raise your voice a bit

if there's someone as shy as andrew in the room, there's two possibilities: either he'll take a step back into the shadows or - the rare alternative - try to help the person out of pity. it's going to be the latter, obviously. if someone cares for him he'll pay them back x10, one way or another, even if it means putting himself in uncomfortable situations here and there

you two often walk together, hand in hand, like an awkward teenage couple at prom. it's to combat anxiety, but you keep attracting unwanted attention from the other residents that gush over how clumsy and cute you are together

does the thing all tall ppl do when you're speaking. since he's pretty tall, standing at 5'11 (179cm), he bends down to your level so he can hear you better

to sum it up, you two cling onto each other for support. two minuses make a plus amirite

i've mentioned this before but andrew is a very panicky person, and would always ask you if everything is okay if you don't speak for a prolonged period of time

he just needs a lil reassurance from time to time and it would hurt him to find that he's the reason you're upset okok :c

not exactly raised with great manners but will try his best to treat you like a gentleman, think kissing your hand and escorting you to the matching room every time the two of you are separated. it's unlike him and the behavior might come as a surprise, but he's a sappy loser and just wants to be a great partner (and be regarded as one, after all)

just quality time as the primary love language between you two. no pressure to talk, and it can quickly turn into physical touch if the both of you are comfortable with it. he'd be more than happy you wanted to or even initiated it

often brushes your hair away from your face instead of checking in with a question. since he knows you're timid, he'd rather see your expression instead of prodding you to talk if you don't want to at the moment

surprise hugs from behind yayyy!!!!! he's protective of people he loves and in his eyes he kind of "shields" you from everyone else

has a large frame and wide shoulders so it DOES feel like equipping a large shield, especially when he wraps his long arms around you and his hair brushes against your skin. this way he's both close to your mouth and your body. surprise him with a kiss this way and he'll cover his mouth in fluster

Authors note: Haven't written IDV in ages so I'm pretty rusty. Live, laugh, love Andrew.

𝐀 = 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

‪‪❤︎‬ Andrew isn't the best when it comes to initiating or even accepting affection. Being told you're a monster all your life, makes feeling comfortable enough to get close rather nerve-racking. You need to give him some time to break down the emotional walls.

‪‪❤︎‬ Keeps the affection lowkey, if you want to get more up close and personal then you'll have to initiate it yourself. Andrew enjoys holding your hand and lacing your fingers, or giving you a kiss on the cheek when he's feeling a bit more brave.

𝐁 = 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

‪‪❤︎‬ The quiet type of best friend. He prefers taking a more passive role in the friendship, letting you do most of the talking. He preferably interacts people through you, fearing their judgement, and constantly suspecting they might be going behind his back.

‪‪❤︎‬ Andrew isn't the easiest of the group of survivors to befriend. It would take quite a bit of effort on your side to get him to open up. He's suspicious, a bit awkward and not exactly the best at communication. But after testing the waters and getting a positive reaction, he loosens up a bit.

𝐂 = 𝐂𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬 (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

‪‪❤︎‬ Not too fond of it in the beginning, mostly because he isn't used to it. He can't quite relax and he feels tense. Though as time goes on he begins to enjoy it more. Eventually his true touch starved self comes out

‪‪❤︎‬ Doesn't say it, but he loves being the little spoon. Having your arms around him and your chest against his back makes him feel safe and warm. that being said, he won't complain if you want to reverse roles and be held by him instead. If you're close to him, he'll be alright.

𝐃 = 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

‪‪❤︎‬ He secretly loves the idea of it. If he ever escapes the manor, he wants do it with you, and then settle down somewhere together. Andrew craves an ounce of normalcy in his life, being loved and waking up with you every day.

‪‪❤︎‬ Not the best at cooking or cleaning, not the worst either. He knows how to take care of it, but his cooking is kind of bland and depressing. He most definitely prefers your cooking over his own. Can be trusted with the laundry, though.

𝐄 = 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

❤︎ You'd have to mess up pretty badly for Andrew to cut things off completely. But one great way for this man to break things off is to betray his trust. If he comes to greatly trust and rely on you, only to find out you are exactly like the people who hurt him for so long, he'd cut things off.

❤︎ He'd make it as quick as possible. He doesn't like long and drawn out confrontations, it makes him deeply uncomfortable. The man will simply say what he needs to say before leaving.

𝐅 = 𝐅𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞(𝐞) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

❤︎ Kind of scared when it comes to fully opening up and committing to you, but he wants it nonetheless. Andrew is very attached to you, so commitment isn't really even a suggestion. If you're not serious about him, he doesn't think he could settle into a relationship with you.

❤︎ Takes some time to muster up the courage to propose to you, and very likely will be after you expressed interest in tying the knot. He holds onto the hope he can one day escape the manor so the two of you can live in peace, together.

𝐆 = 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞 (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

❤︎ Physically gentle. Andrew doesn't want to hurt you, obviously. You're his comfort and escape, and he holds great affection for you. And to add to that, he is a pretty reserved and gentle person by nature, so roughhousing isn't on the table.

❤︎ A little bit less emotionally gentle in the beginning. Like I said before he is a bit protective of himself in the beginning, and wary of your intentions. But as you break down his wall he becomes pretty soft for you.

𝐇 = 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐬 (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

❤︎ Yes. He won't specifically ask for them, but he loves it when you embrace him. He'll practically melt in your arms, his face buried against your shoulder and his hands on your waist. He could spend hours like that, completely content.

❤︎ Whenever he does initiate hugs, they're warm and gentle. He'll place his hand against the back of your head, the other one wrapping around to be placed on the small of your back. Sometimes he'll even play with your hair.

𝐈 = 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 (How fast do they say the L-word?)

❤︎ It takes him a while to say it, taking time to find his place in the relationship, as well as yours. You're more likely to say the words first. And when you do, it finally comes spilling out of him. It feels freeing, being able to express himself after all these years.

❤︎ Says it more often after that, only in private. It slips out of him while he lays with his head in your lap, in the comfort of your room, with the lights dimmed for the sake of his eyes.

𝐉 = 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐲 (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

❤︎ Andrew gets jealous fairly often. He hates it when the other survivors get too close for comfort. It feels like he isn't constantly at risk of losing you to men that have normal eyes, and color to their faces and hair.

❤︎ He recognizes how he feels, and just opts to stick closer to you. He's already cosplaying as your shadow at this rate, but you'll know when he's jealous when he gets clingier. He's going to need some assurance and affirmation from you before he feels a little bit better.

𝐊 = 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

❤︎ His kisses begin soft and subtle. Experimentative pecks on the lips, cheeks and forehead, fleeting. As time passes he feels comfortable enough to let them linger slightly longer. Your face remains his favorite place to smooch, though.

❤︎ Mostly anywhere is fair game to Andrew. He feels loved whenever your lips touch him, no matter the place. Whether that be his shoulders, neck, jaw, cheeks, forehead, scalp or lips. His heart does a little somersault whenever it happens.

𝐋 = 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 (How are they around children?)

❤︎ Really awkward. Children used to be scared of him, or laugh at him. That didn't really change as he got older, and he found children unpleasant to be around. At best they would ask why he looked so weird, at worst they could start crying and run away, or make fun of him. Preferably he'd like to avoid them altogether.

❤︎ The idea of having a family with you has crossed his mind, but he's hesitant about it. What if his child turns out like him? He couldn't imagine bringing someone into the world just to have them suffer like he had. Still, the thoughts remain.

𝐌 = 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (How are mornings spent with them?)

❤︎ If you're in the manor with him, he seeks you out first thing in the morning. Every morning you hear a knock on the door, and the pale man walks in. Sometimes he'll simply lay down next to you, other times the two of you will head to the dining hall together, hand in hand.

❤︎ If not in the manor, he sleeps in late to compensate for the long nightly hours. The bedroom is dim, allowing him to wake up in peace without the sun causing him any pain in distress. Usually when he awakens, you're up already, so he gets up to join you for brunch, his hair a mess.

𝐍 = 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (How are nights spent with them?)

❤︎ If you're in the manor, he loves spending evenings with you. After dinner you both disappear into either his or your room. He doesn't mind how the night is spent. Reading, cuddling, talking, it matters not. He does have to remember to be back in his room by curfew, lest he wants to risk punishment.

❤︎ If not in the manor, he spends evenings dining with you before he goes off to his grave keeping duties. Once he comes back, you're likely dead to the world asleep. He quietly gets ready before slipping into bed next to you, quickly dozing off as he holds you.

𝐎 = 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

❤︎ As I said over a thousand times now, it takes a while. Andrew wants to know you're not using him. He doesn't trust that someone like you would want someone who is constantly compared to a monster.

❤︎ It likely comes spilling out one evening while he holds you close. All his pain, frustration and fears are spoken through a shaky tone. He's angry, sad, traumatized and afraid. And after you ground him and listen to him, talking about his feelings becomes more common.

𝐏 = 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (How easily angered are they?)

❤︎ Andrew is more timid, and doesn't get angered fast. He is used to being a pushover, and to be quiet in the shadows. Becoming angry at you is even more unlikely, and once again you'd have to push really hard to get him to that point.

❤︎ If he is well and truly pissed, leave him alone. Tell him you're ready once he wants to talk, and back off. He prefers handling hard feelings by himself, after all he's used to it.

𝐐 = 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐞𝐬 (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

❤︎ Remembers a surprising amount. You occupy like 50% of his mind at any given moment. He knows what you like, what you don't like, what flowers are your favorites and what makes you smile. It's something that warms his heart, even if he doesn't remember every single detail.

❤︎ Is definitely surprised when you remember things about him. Part of him is wary, but an even bigger part is relieved. You remember what he wants, what he needs and what he hates. It confirms to him that you see him as a person.

𝐑 = 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

❤︎ It's so hard for him to pick a favorite. One of his favorite moments was one evening when you retreated from the dining hall together. When he entered your room, he saw all the lights had been dimmed for him already. It was such a small thing but it meant the world to him.

❤︎ It meant you were expecting, maybe even wanted him there with you. It took him a lot of effort not to get slightly emotional at that. that night definitely remains one of his favorites.

𝐒 = 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

❤︎ Andrew is definitely protective, though not overbearing. Obviously he wants to keep his only loved one safe. He's more of a 'sacrifice the world to save their partner' type of person. If you are in games together, he sticks by your side.... not that he's not already doing that in the manor.

❤︎ If you want to make him love you, stand up for him against the other survivors. Yell at someone for insulting him, and he's yours until the end of time. Other than that he feels guilty if you get hurt for his sake.

𝐓 = 𝐓𝐫𝐲 (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

❤︎ In the manor it's kind of difficult to do anything with anniversaries or dates. It's not at the forefront of anyone's mind when they're constantly risking harm, death, or even the threat of being turned into the monsters hunting them.

❤︎ But once he's out, he likes romantic gestures He takes pleasure in candle lit dinners, strolls and other calm activities. He even gets you flowers, best not to ask where he got them.

𝐔 = 𝐔𝐠𝐥𝐲(What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

❤︎ Not very fond of other people, and doesn't like it if you spend too much time with them instead of him. It causes him to start doubting things, which happens easily.

❤︎ to add onto the last point he's possessive, very possessive. Doesn't like sharing you with anyone whatsoever. It's you, him and nobody else, and that's how he likes it.

𝐕 = 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 (How concerned are they with their looks?)

❤︎ Andrew is sickly looking, and doesn't really change up his appearance. He is much more focused on not being seen than he is about dolling up. He feels that no matter what he tries, he'll always be a monster.

❤︎ Does make an effort for you wherever possible, though. He'll finally brush some hair out of his face or wear something else if there's a possibility to do so. Other than that, don't expect too much.

𝐖 = 𝐖𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

❤︎ Pretty much, yeah. If he's allowed to become attached to you, he can't really let go. He becomes somewhat emotionally dependent on you, and prefers spending time with you above everything else.

❤︎ If he ever lost you, it would lead to a deep scar he can never even hope to heal. If it's during the games, he might lose the motivation to escape the manor, hoping to see you on the other side of matches as a hunter. Or he'd obsessively take care of your grave every single night.

𝐗 = 𝐗𝐭𝐫𝐚 (A random headcanon for them.)

❤︎ Does not escape the manor without you. He hates the idea of escaping the manor, only to leave the only other person who ever loved behind. He doesn't know what he's going to do with you. He came to the manor wishing to be understood, and in a twisted way that came true. Not above letting himself get caught if that means he can guarantee you stay close to him.

❤︎ He'll only attempt to escape if you swear up and down you'll follow close behind. In that case, he'll wait for you to find him, digging graves back at the cemetery, glancing at the gates as if expecting you to step through at any second.

𝐘 = 𝐘𝐮𝐜𝐤 (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

❤︎ Spreading rumors is one great way to kill his interest and love. If you badmouth other people to him, he'll think you're badmouthing him to other people as well. Whatever you say about others better have some evidence for it.

❤︎ Really obvious but don't insult him, especially not his appearance. Also don't look down on him, he'll absolutely loathe it if you do. He wants to be seen as someone you view as an equal.

𝐙 = 𝐙𝐳𝐳 (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

❤︎ Lays pretty still while sleeping. He doesn't toss or turn. My guy will lay down and just fall asleep in that position more often than not. Snoring is also non existent for this man, most you'll get is deep breathing

❤︎ Tends to sleep more during the day if he gets the chance to. It feels more natural to him, the night being more inviting. It allows him to dodge people and sunlight.
