Dumbass but hilarious to consider scenario.
Dream SMP however it's the Twisted Boys doing the roleplay.
They were recording it because why not and did not expect the popularity it would get.
Yuu is Wilbur. Especially with the cursed lore. There have been many attempts to get them to stop. They all failed.
Riddle basically has Bad's roleplay role and is quite proud of The Egg Arc.
Ace is Tommy and Epel is Dream. Deuce is Tubbo. Sebeck is Sapnap. And Jack is George because he's not that into the heavy stuff.
You chose who everyone else is essentially playing as. Just wanted to share this.
*Laughs in 10 steps ahead of you*
I actually have like a few pages in a notebook about this. The cast list goes as follows:
Dream: Lilia (Mainly because Diasomnia is a strong af group and they do fit the “intimidating enemies” vibe.)
George: Malleus (Mainly because of King George in that one arc, plus with the lore of Dream and George being very close during that time. Though Jade takes George’s role during the Manberg/Pogtopia arc)
Sapnap: Silver (I find it funny that Silver, who is calm and also really low energy, is Sapnap, who has very high energy.)
Tommy: Ace (Come on, it’s obvious. Those two would be friends if Tommy traveled to Twisted Wonderland)
Tubbo: Deuce (Also very obvious. Tommy and Tubbo are a duo as much as Ace and Deuce.)
Wilbur: Epel (MMMMMM, Epel going batshit insane is a)
Fundy: Jack (...furry-) (No actually I think it’d be really cool for Jack, who has a strong moral compass betray his own morals just to keep up a spy act.)
Eret: Sebek (HAHAHHAHAHAHA, IT FITS BECAUSE SEBEK WOULD TOTALLY BETRAY THEM FOR LILIA AND MALLEUS)
Niki: Trey (Baker :) Also it’s fitting that Trey would be the one to kill Ace)
Techno: Leona (C’mon, his attitude matches DSMP! Techno, and he totally would be an anarchist.)
BBH: Kalim (Egg Arc :)))) Kalim would totally let himself be possessed for the sake of Jamil)
Skeppy: Jamil (Egg Arc :) Also best friends with Kalim obvs)
Sam: Vil (I...have no exact reason for this. I just think it fits for some reason. Maybe because Warden Vil sounds really cool???)
Antfrost: Rook (Cats have night vision, Rook canonically has good vision. Also, that one bit where Tommy, Techno, and Tubbo made Ant into an S-L-A-V-E? Hilarious if the cast did that)
Schlatt: Azul (Slimy business man? He would totally kick out Epel and Ace lmao)
Quackity: Floyd (I MADE THIS BEFORE QUACKITY’S PRISON STREAMS AND OOOHHH MY GOOOODD, I’M SHAKING FLOYD WOULD DO THAT IF HE WASN’T RESTRAINED)
Punz: Ruggie (Both do stuff for a price, literally makes the most sense)
Jack Manifold: Riddle (Riddleland :0 and also he totally would help Deuce make nukes with his big brain and use them to attempt to murder Ace with them)
Philza: Crowley (I feel like this one is obvious???)
Ranboo: Othro ( :))) Othro angst where he remembers nothing. Deuce adopts Othro for the tax benefits.)
Puffy: Yuu (THERAPIST ANYONE????)
Karl: Cater (Cater documents his life a lot, like Karl documenting his own adventures.
Foolish: Idia (Idia is from the dorm based on a Greek God. Foolish is a God. Enough said. Also getting sacrificed for an Egg cult is tragic and hilarious)
Anyways, even if this is my general idea, your idea sounds amazing! I’ve written a lot of other DreamSMP inspired ideas on my blog, involving Yuu, Rook, and Jamil being Tubbo, Techno, and Eret on their way to beat up Crowley (Sam) for taking Grim (Micheal). There was also another time where I wrote Tubbo’s Checkmate scene with our classic quartet.
I like your castings, though! I totally agree that Yuu would be the one to make up cursed lore (”I gave birth to Grim, he’s my son, and his other parent is a tree!”) I also like Riddle being BBH, which means Trey would probably be Skeppy, and WHOOO BOY THE ANGST. Thinking about Sebek as Sapnap does make sense, and I could totally see him and Ace fighting early in the SMP. Though, idk about Jack being Gogy, since George basically sleeps a lot, which I don’t see Jack doing at all.
Anyways, that’s just my cup of tea. I really like this idea tho! :0

(Some) Dream smp members ranked by how likely I think they’d survive in 3rd Life
Tommyinnit: 2/10
What can be said about Tomathy Careful Danger Kraken Innit that has not already been said? He has the confidence of a lion with the strength of a mouse. He does, however, have an unprecedented amount of luck that keep him alive. Protagonist energy, if you will. -8 points because I think he’d make it through about 3 weeks out of pure stubbornness before rushing headfirst into a fight he was completely unprepared for.
Quackity: 3/10
A nice balance of serious roleplay and shits and giggles. I think Quackity would spend his time fucking with whoever was close enough to hear his autotuned ramblings then turn around and be the angstiest motherfucker on the server. His comedy often comes with recklessness, though. -7 points because I think he’d be too willing to risk a life or two for comedic affect and end up losing more than he realized he had.
Tubbo: 5/10
What Tubbo lacks in any particular Minecraft skills, he makes up for in sheer audacity. The resident wild card of the Dream SMP, I believe being around people who aren’t familiar with his antics would secure him at least a few weeks of being uninterrupted. That is, if he can manage to stay out of everyone’s business for that long. You see, that same moxie that gives him his edge is also his downfall. -5 points because I feel like he wouldn’t go more than a week without sticking his nose somewhere it really didn’t belong.
Wilbur Soot: 6/10
Scar showed us that flattery gets you everywhere. Wilbur is an amazing public speaker and more than capable of worming his way out of situations with nothing but his words. However, I have never seen this man organize a hotbar in his life. I’m not even sure I’ve ever seen him in full armor. -4 points because he has no money to put where his mouth is.
Ranboo: 7/10
Not too shabby at PvP and he’s a big Roleplay guy. Being big on roleplay means most people won’t actively try to kill you if the moment isn’t dramatic enough. -3 points, though, because my streamer is terminally oblivious and would probably waltz face first into a trap if somebody asked him nicely enough.
Nihachu: 8/10
Niki is genuinely a very kind person and I think she’d survive quite a while by amassing allies. That is to say, I don’t think anyone would want to kill her. That is not to say, however, that I don’t think she would want to kill. Niki is clever and fully willing to use that kindness to mask her intentions. -2 points because, though I think she’d make it far through the power of friendship alone, if somebody with too little remorse managed to corner her, she’d be done for.
Technoblade: 9/10
PvP god, a good speaker, and down to play the bad guy, I think they’d love to hate him. He’s like Ranboo and Wilbur combined. Unfortunately, Techno has a history of exploiting game breaking loopholes and has been struck down by the mighty hand of god for the high class crime of being a cheater on multiple occasions. -1 point for his own hubris.
Philza: 10/10
Where Techno fails in his pride, I believe Philza would fool many with his generally laid back attitude. He’s not the type to pick fights he can’t win and is not so foolish to believe he cannot be beaten like his little oink oink. Ever advantageous, I believe he’d swoop in when people guards and hearts are low to steal the victory.

I’ve been knee deep in dsmp lore streams and I just want to ramble about it
Dream smp lore is so good, it’s so good!!! Not only is the story itself just fascinating, but how it’s presented so uniquely through the medium of minecraft of all things is just so cool. One of my favorite parts of the lore is seeing how everyone on the smp has their own “style” they present it in, and watching them find the way they find the most enjoyment in is so cool. Literally no two streamer’s lore stream quite like each others and it’s just incredible! It just speaks to the flexibility of roleplay as an artistic medium and really shows everyone’s individual personalities.
Wilbur was dramatic as hell and wrote eloquent speeches. He started a drug operation under the guise as a country, and it lead to a revolution in which he was able to explore the spiral of a man who loses control of everything he had built. And after his arc and he wanted a break from the server? He created ghostbur, an amnesic comic relief with just enough touch of tragedy that he is still able to make heartbreaking monologues when he wants to.
Tommy is able to run around with his friends and cause as much chaos to his heart’s extent, but there is so much more than meets the eye. He is incredibly social and isn’t afraid to start conflict with a lot of people, bringing them into the roleplay. He doesn’t back down from storytelling either. His character goes through terrible situations and he fully explores the trauma that comes from those experiences. His character goes against the “stereotypical” trauma I see alot in media; instead of being shy or scared he’s reactionary, he’s angry, he’s violent, he’s depressed. I’m actually really impressed with the heavy subject matter this 17 year old teen has managed to portray (I’ve connected with it quite personally at certain points), while still being able to keep the light hearted fun that’s so intrinsic to his personality.
Tubbo isn’t really interested in serious lore as much. Even in dire moments he tells jokes and just has fun. So, in his recent lore, he just streams as normal while putting mysterious writing on screen that he doesn’t acknowledge or have to explain, which I think is just a genius work around for him to participate in lore. He still has his dedicated lore streams sometimes, and when he is in the acting zone he has some of the most powerful moments out of everyone on the server.
Ranboo, while having stake in the greater smp lore, is much more character focused. He presents his lore through long monologues and fucking heart-wrenching voice acting. He loves working in themes of horror and causing a specific feeling in the viewer. So he chooses specific music as a themes for events/characters and creates visual queues in his overlays to draw out that desired reaction. He also values improve a LOT, if something unexpected comes up he just runs with it and he has made huge changes to his lore as early as 30 min before a stream.
Technoblade, while arguably one of the most powerful people on the server, prefers a more light-hearted yet dramatic approach to lore. When Dream was at his house looking for Tommy, Techno had no problem joking around and making fun of him for being homeless. He tore down an entire nation on the server and had so much fun doing it! He’s more of an antagonist than a true villain in my opinion. And lets not forget how dedicated he is to the game, he’s cracked at the craft. He spends hours grinding and creating farms on the smp, for amazing pay offs (his several vault reveals, the withers, etc), most of which weren’t even on stream!
Karl Jacobs is extremely social, so he created Tales from the smp as a way to involve TONS of people in lore while exploring the past and future of the server (it was also a way for viewers who weren’t that well versed in dsmp lore to join and not have to worry about it!). And through this premise, he took the opportunity to develop his own character on the smp; making an incredibly tragic story of a time traveler trying to save his home while slowly loosing his memories. Not to mention the beautifully shot cutscenes of the Inbetween and the Other Side. He includes so many people behind the scenes as well, collabing with other members on lore, hiring building teams and people to make intros and credit scenes, and promoting fanart and fansongs from the community!
Quackity explores his lore through heavily scripted events and amazingly shot cut scenes. While the way he expresses his lore comes at the cost of improv, the payoff of the visuals and story is well worth it! The shots he makes of the smp is downright gorgeous, no to mention he’s the first person to include irl footage in his lore (not counting facecams)! He’s not afraid of thoroughly examining his own character, being one of the only people I can think of that shows us “past events” leading up to something that has already happened.
Badboyhalo, Antfrost, Ponk, Skeppy, Captain Puffy, Punz, Awesamdude, Hannahxxrose all work together on shared lore and the payoff is amazing! By introducing the Egg, a constant antagonistic force that constantly pulls on character’s relationships with each other, everyone is able to stream together to battle for or against the egg! There’s also plenty of room for people to do individual lore that's more intimate to their respective character. They spend hours changing vines, putting up posters, slowly shaping the smp in a way that makes it exciting to watch streams to see just what has changed everyday. Because there’s so many people necessary to tell the egg’s story, it does comes at the cost of time (the egg has been around FOREVER). However, they all work together super hard and I just admire their commitment to the story they’re trying to tell!
And Sam! He has several different “Modes” his character is in (and an entirely separate character, Sam Nook) that he gets to explore lore with. He’s a terrifying warden, he’s a money motivated businessman, he’s a conflicted lover, he’s a traumatized victim of the egg, and just so much more. Through having so many different “roles” in the rp he gets to explore relationships and plotlines with a whole array of people. Not to mention he’s absolutely cracked at redstone and has some of the most impressive builds on the server.
And Puffy! So much of her lore is calling into question the morality of the server and really makes you step back and think critically about the characters. Her character also has, in my opinion, one of the most interesting relationships with Dream, the main antagonist of the entire server, which is just fascinating to watch unfold. Not to mention she’s one of the first people to start exploring the backstory of her character!
George doesn’t exactly do lore. In fact he’s slept through so much of it it’s become a meme. And you know what? That mad man took that and ran with it. He explains his absence in the story by having his character literally being asleep through it, creating mystery where there used to just be an absence. He’s able to goof off with his friends and have borderline nonsensical streams, then at the end sucker punch the audience emotionally by “waking up” and have the viewers question just what was real and what wasn’t?
The smp has the freedom for people who want more independent lore to be able to explore their character’s that way as well!
Hbomb, Connereatspants, and Purpled don’t have a lot of lore on the smp, generally only coming on to have fun with everyone, but when they do have their moments it unfolds in very interesting ways!
Sapnap, Eret, and Schlatt maybe aren’t as active as some other people, but when they are on they actively participate in lore and have lasting impacts on the story (Ex: Eret’s betrayal, Sapnap’s visit to dream in the prison, Schlatt becoming president).
Philza mostly does his own thing, improving the server or making some bomb ass builds. He has incredibly devastating roles in lore (killing wilbur, blowing up L’manberg for the final time, starting the syndicate with Techno), but he also has quieter moments that speak to the depth his character has, such as fishing with fundy or reminiscing about his dead son and how it went so wrong. Like Techno, he doesn’t like to take lore completely seriously, often laughing no matter what’s happening or teasing chat after something big goes down, but his character is solid with a lot of potential for future lore.
Foolish has only started on his character and its already super interesting. The hints at his dark past as a “god of death” and his current conflict with the egg are intriguing as fuck. Not to mention the MASSIVE builds he does for everyone, helping to progress their lore as well.
Fundy has a lot of freedom with his character to participate however much he wants in lore. While generally he’s a trickster who loves to prank people he has enough tragedy build into his backstory he’s able to break the viewer’s heart with a flip of a switch. Not to mention his recent, almost surreal, stream that explored his character’s disturbing dreams that may or may not predict the future.
Niki is very character driven, exploring her character's grief of losing her best friend and her anger of being ignored in the very country she helped create. She has incredibly emotional moments, and even though she’s on her own building an underground city she still participates in other lore via teaming with jack manifold or the syndicate.
Jack Manifold’s lore is VERY character focused, and while he’s described his story as a “B plot that occasionally intersects with the main plot”, the story he tells is still fascinating. Being pushed aside not taken seriously his whole life, his character develops into a fun cartoony-esque villain who begs to be taken seriously, that has the depth of a truly conflicted person who is torn between wanting revenge on everyone who’s done him wrong and just wanting a friend.
Last but not least, the man himself, Dream. The most fascinating thing about his lore is that absolutely none of it is from his pov. All we know about his character is only from what we see from everyone else’s povs, and in his case it leads to a very intimidating villain! Not to mention, mans owns the damn server and yet has made himself the main antagonist! He is the only character I consider a “true villain” on the smp. His voice acting and writing is downright sinister. I could write a fucking essay on how his character’s obsession with power has led him to the point he thinks himself an unstoppable god
Everyone on this server is stunning and I love all of them!!!!!

dream’s super emotionally vulnerable in prison right now due to the fact that for months has had nothing but torture for human contact. so with techno, someone who’s a tentative ally, in there with him now he spills everything that happens. stealing others loved belongings to have control over them, abusing tommy, manipulating tubbo, controlling eret’s every move- all of it.
techno as a character right now has a very narrow view of the server. believe what you want about the tommy-betrayal and the pogtopia-betrayal, but it’s an undeniable fact that techno is very secluded from the server. he’s aware of what’s happening through ranboo who has memory loss and is biased to snowchester, niki who is vengeful and dislikes almost everyone except the syndicate, and phil who also is pretty secluded and is biased to wilbur. and while i could talk about how this is a more meta situation stemming from the fact that cc!techno takes a very casual tone to the server and in a 4th wall way brushes it off as roleplay and nothing serious, that’s not what i’m talking about. on a character level one of techno’s main traits is that he’s incredibly confident in not only his skills but his beliefs.
it’s yet to be address if techno is even aware of ANYTHING dream has done. he wasn’t there on the final disc confrontation. there was no explicit mention of abuse in exile from tommy- though if cc!techno pulls a complete “i didn’t know” i’m gonna be mad because the signs were there. techno wasn’t on the server for the l’manberg war and was in retirement during dream’s manipulation of new l’manberg.
sticking them both in a confined cell with only each other and having one of them be very emotionally compromised will hopefully lead to a lot of character miscommunication and ignorance being cleared up. those are by far my least favorite narrative tools and i really hope they stop being used so much. an amazing world building idea would be to casually mention that the character talk off-stream; no ground breaking conversations, but little things like sharing their sides of the story with each other for an event they were both there for, clearing up some discrepancies between characters. with dream and techno, the two most powerful member on the server (challenged only by quackity and maybe wilbur, depending), it opens a lot of cool possibilities.
personally, i would really love to see the story really solidify that dream is just a true villain. with techno, wilbur, and quackity- the three other ‘villains’- you have their POV to understand what’s happening and where they’re coming from. with dream it would be super interesting to see him explain why he STILL, after everything, thinks he’s in the right and have someone like technoblade, the blood god orphan killer character, denounce the manipulation and abuse he causes
#dream smp#dream smp analysis#ask to tag this has some touchy stuff in it#i also know all of this isnt going to happen bc its techno's lore and he doesn't take it seriously peepoSigh#uh#technoblade critical#ig

*SPOILERS FOR THE SECOND DREAM SMP WAR*
(everything I talk about is from tubbo, wilbur, and technos povs)
SHIT WENT DOWN TODAY LADS, GALS, AND PALS
okay everyone was on today. literally everyone and most of everything that happened before wilbur and tommy got on was just people bouncing from vc to vc, theorising who the traitor was, and last minute plans and loot gathering
tubbo and quackity had a moment before they gathered with techno, fundy, and niki. as they gathered, eret joined them and stated that dream stripped him of his title of king of the smp
they adopted eret into the group as wilbur and tommy joined the server
wilbur and tommy talked for a bit with each other before joining the pogtopia vc as they were yelled at by the same vc to join the call
once they did, chaos from that many people errupted and they moved from their spot to pogtopia over the span of a slow 10 minutes.
techno got tired of it and just yelled at everyone to head to his base under the lake. once they were all assembled in the public part of it, techno activated a secret door to a lower chamber with dozens of fully stocked chests full of weapons, foods, gear, and 5 full pieces of netherite armor
it was actually fucking crazy and everyone was wearing armor, except wilbur. once everyone gathered what they wanted, they returned to the surface where skeppy, bbh, and antfrost were waiting for them. the entire group of wilbur, tommy, tubbo, techno, quackity, fundy, niki, eret, bbh, skeppy, and ant made their way back to manberg
as soon as pogtopia was within range, schlatt and dream opened fire from eret's tower and the war officially started
pogtopia stormed the tower and chaos errupted. I couldn't understand anything anyone was saying but dream and schlatt ender pearled out of the tower towards manberg. idk if karl was actually fighting with dream and schlatt but he died several times but not really anyone else died
during the chaos, dream typed in chat asking to talk to wilbur. after agreeing to it and telling everyone to stand down, dream moved wilbur into a private vc. dream flat out said that schlatt's an idiot and wilbur was like yeah we know what's your point?
dream then says to join the vc with everyone else and after wilbur told everyone to shut up, dream said that they surrendered and led the group of like 15 ppl to the hto van. schlatt was there unarmed and defenseless
schlatt was washed up, drunk, and senile and it was actually really sad seeing the manburg dictator like that in the moment. jumping out of his stupor, schlatt started just punching fundy even though it pointless, he started calling quackity a flatty patty and so on and so forth. tommy eventually stepped in with an arrow loaded into dreams crossbow and pointed it at schlatt. words were exchanged and before tommy could fire the arrow, schlatt fell out of the world.
everyone was shocked but nonetheless, they started celebrating because the war was officially over and manburg was won back. in the celebration, wilbur told everyone to shut up again in order for dream to say that their was no traitor and he had lied about it.
more celebratory shouts and stuff happened, the vc was chaos, and whatever but wilbur told everyone to head to the podium. in doing so, wilbur told tommy to get on the mic as the president elect of manburg.
shocked, tommy took the stage for his first official speech as the president for manburg. tommy said it was a hard won honor to be on that stage back in manburg, and decreed that it was meant to be. he then said that manburg would again be known as l'manburg. everyone celebrated but tommy stopped them and said that he couldn't stay on as president, not until he got his disks back from skeppy. he then named wilbur as president to replace him
after tommy left the podium and wilbur stood in front of everyone, he decreed that the flag that signified schlatt's regime was to be taken down and l'manburg's yellow, red, white, and blue flag be errected once again. more cheers but wilbur stopped these as well and stated that technoblade had taught wilbur a lot and that in doing so, wilbur could no longer trust the government. wilbur conceded as president and named tubbo as president of l'manburg
wilbur left the podium and tubbo replaced him. tubbo have a fantastic speech and stated that they had a lot of work to do to fix up l'manburg but it was finally theirs again. and it was to be a place that everyone on the smp would be welcomed
everyone was finally allowed to cheer now that tubbo was the official president of l'manburg. while everyone was celebrating, wilbur said he'd be right back, exited the vc, and started making his way behind the podium. behind where the white house once stood...
wilbur than began to say chekhov's gun over and over again. he then entered the button room and sat down in the chair, looking at the button
eleven and a half stacks of tnt was rigged to blow under l'manburg and wilbur said that as long as the button was there, he just couldn't not press it
in the middle of wilbur's mental breakdown, the philza minecraft joined the vc and asked wilbur what he was doing. wilbur lied and said that he celebrating in l'manburg and trying to act cool
philza joined the game and spawned in the button room, behind wilbur
philza tried to talk sense into wilbur and tried to have him back away from the button. wilbur fully lost it and said that he was the traitor and had been all along
wilbur pressed the button, turned his back to it, and saluted philza as the tnt exploded and put a massive crater in l'manburg
philza killed wilbur and immediately took off through the crater, leaving wilbur in his madness as he laughed on. wilbur then stated that the traitor was both him and techno and that techno was going to spawn withers on top of the ruins of manburg
true to his word, techno spawned two and it was chaos, everyone was fighting a wither (one was called subscribe to technoblade)
in the chaos wilbur said that he wished the best to tubbo's presidency and that wilbur would be back very, very soon on the smp. he then ended stream and logged off
chaos ensued and tommy and tubbo managed some control after the withers were killed and asked everyone who remained on pogtopia/l'manburg's side to join a vc
techno then started lighting off his own three stacks of tnt on whatever was left of l'manburg. dream and george helped and everyone else who hadn't join the l'manburg vc just pretty much talked amongst themselves casually
in the mean time, dream said that his agreement with wilbur (I guess THE agreement about being a traitor idk) was that no matter what, l'manburg would blow up
I don't know what tommy and l'manburg talked about during this time, I had had to stop watching the streams but this is was happened today and holy fuck
*EDIT*
OKAY watching tubbo's pov and updating as I found out shit from the moment wilbur left to push the button and wtffff
they started taking down the festival decorations and dream said oh yeah no there was a traitor
cue techno immediately launching into an anarchist monologue, killing tubbo, and stating that both him and wilbur are the traitors
techno is now toeing the line of villainy with an amazing analogue and spawned the withers
philza immediately is just like alright, half of my kids are violent anarchists and so I'mma suit up in full netherite and help the other half
also george finally showing up after building a fucking house for two hours on the server
l'manburg is officially tommy, tubbo, quackity, fundy, niki, eret, karl, and philza
TOMMY AND TUBBO MOMENT IT HURTS
CONNOREATSPANTS WTF OOOOHHHHH SHIIIITTTTT and apparently someone other than connor and philza?? if I understood dream right
tubbo and quackity are talking and tubbo wants to clean up l'manburg and rebuild it on stilts and a glass tunnel through it all which is fucking cool
tubbo is president, tommy is vice president, quackity is the secretary of state, fundy is the fourman (makes everything run smoothly), phil is an advisor, and karl is the creative input
NEW L'MANBURG !!
l'manburg is not a government, it is a collective (so as not to have techno completely obliterate them for existing)
l'manburg is supposed to be peaceful and ask for permission from now on
DREAMON HUNTING IS GETTING GOVERNMENT FUNDING AND A DISCORD GROUPCHAT
okay now that's it's holy fuck
*EDIT OF THE EDIT*
IVE BEEN INFORMED THAT CAPTAIN PUFFY IS ALSO WHITELISTED
um yeah shit this was something else today and btw, this is all a bit, it's not real. don't get your panties all in a knot because of people roleplaying in a fucking block game

It's still mind boggling how even though it's Minecraft roleplay we treat it like a TV show, it's honestly saving everyone's lockdown and it's the best thing right through from when Wilbur joined the server (when it basically started in late July) we've been left to predict what happens time and time again and some predictions have been very wrong, slightly wrong, very accurate or slightly accurate.
I also want to know how the fuck did we end up from a camarvan ran by Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo and Eret to L'manburg with the same people and Fundy until Erets betrayal, Tommy giving up the discs for independence, Niki and Jack Manifold joining L'manburg and then a fucking election. (this was when shit starting getting real interesting), Tommy and Wilburs exile in which they formed Pogtopia with Techno joining the server 5 minutes after the election (amazing name I must say) the festival in which Tubbo was tragically executed and I think was Quackitys final straw with Schlatt until a week or so later where Quackity joined Pogtopia.
We had the 2nd war for L'manburg or Manburg as it was known then, Wilbur blowing it up and Philza joining and killing his own son, Techno setting of a bunch of Withers, Tubbo becoming the president and the rebuild of L'manburg and then Tommy's exile, Dreams maniplaution of Tommy in exile, Tommy becoming a racoon and living under Techno's house, Techno and Tommy taking Connor hostage, the final L'manburg war and I can't forget Ghostbur being the best thing on the smp for the last 3 months oh and Niki finally getting her moment and burning the L'mantree.
Ranboo being tormented and tortured by Dream and was scared of him and manipulated because Dream didn't want to play with Tommy and Tubbo until the final battle for the discs, Tommy having to choose between Tubbo and the discs, Tubbo gave up and said take the discs, everyone came to Tommy and Tubbos aid and saved them (thank you Punz who kickstarted it), Tommy finally getting his moment and he was the one to tell Dream what to do, Eret being free and basically fully redeemed and now we're left with Dream being imprsoned only with Techno owing him a favour and the fucking egg growing across the server and everyone has freedom now

Unpopular Opinion /lh /rp
Talking about dSMP character’s heights and sort of their body types? Not in a weird way just in a ‘how I imagine them’ way. Loosely based off of their irl heights, but some of them I don’t know, so it’s mostly guesswork and vibes. Also if you disagree you’re wrong. (Just kidding leave your ideas in the tags/replies)
Obviously this is all roleplay/character stuff. None of it is intended to be weird or to reflect on the irl people! I’m just having fun with headcanons :)
Tommy is 6′3 and very very lanky. This child is not short. Stop drawing him short. He’s taller than Techno. He’s not as tall as Wilbur, but he’s tall. He towers over most people. Emphasis on most because everyone is so tall on this server what the hell?
Anyway I think the mental image of this super tall kid actively trying to make himself look shorter/smaller is heartbreaking. Like imagine him curled up into a corner trying to make himself as unnoticable as possible in Logsted. Imagine him slouching when living with Techno to try to make himself seem like less of a ‘problem’. Imagine Dream telling him that he’s a ‘big strong man’ and that he shouldn’t need help, he can defend himself, so when he goes back to Tubbo, he tries to make himself look *tiny* as a cry for help. He wants comfort.
But he’s also incedibly skinny. Back in L’manburg and Pogtopia, he developed some muscle from all the fighting. His shoulders broadened out and he looked slightly intimidating. But like most teenage boys, he was still lanky as hell. This only got worse when he was exiled to Logstedshire, with little food (and no drive to eat the food, or get up, or exersise) he became more malnourished and he just looked *small* despite being 6′3. This probably isn’t helped by the constant use of golden apples when he moves in with Techno, which give him energy and strength but no real nutritional value. Techno was just trying to get the kid to eat normally. When he finally stands at his full height, Techno is shocked that he didn’t notice all the slouching.
Anyway Techno is 6′2. He’s taller than a lot of people but not as tall as his brothers. He makes up for this with muscle and strength and a healthy body. Wow, the only healthy person on the server. Amazing. You love to see it. Good for him. He could win in a battle of raw strength against anyone else on the server. He’s quite broad, which makes him look bigger generally.
Wilbur is 6′5 and also he is a stick. Just. Straight up and down stick. Nothing there! He is just a pale sickly stick. This gets worse the further into the timeline you go. When claiming L’manburg and fighting in the war he starts to get insomnia, causing him to look like a corpse half the time. When in Pogtopia, he’s too busy to take care of himself properly, so he only looks worse and worse. His hair is a mess, his skin is far too pale, and he only eats enough to be able to hold his own in a short fight. There’s a reason he doesn’t wear armour or really try to fight at all. He’s subconciously self-destructive, then actively so when he blows the place to the ground. He’s always been too busy for self-care.
Ghostbur is a much more healthy, younger version of Wilbur. I would say he’s ‘water rising’ era Wilbur. The life returned to his body, in a morbid kind of way. He’s still tall but he prefers to make himself seem shorter just to be less threatening.
Phil is 5′11. He has an average build, with slight muscle from the years of playing in hardcore. He’s older, now, but he can still kick your ass. Also, he taught Techno how to fight smart, not hard. He doesn’t need to be super strong because he’s intelligent enough to outwit most people on the server. He has a wordly knowledge that others don’t possess. He also has wings, large and grey, clipped so he could get onto the server (there is a no flying rule after all).
Fundy is... 5′10, just a little shorter than Phil. His fox genes make him smaller, despite his father being 6′5. He’s got a healthy, svelte build. He’s sneaky and light on his feet. In the wars he built up some muscle, but it was quickly lost since he prefers to take a backseat to any fighting outside of those times (especially now) and he’s built for spying.
Schlatt is an interesting one because a lot of people are gonna fight me on this, but he’s not actually old. Everyone calls him old but honestly I think he’s younger than Wilbur (in canon, I feel like Wilbur is in his late 30s, early 40s, simply because). I think Schlatt’s around 35-ish, but he looks older due to his shitty health. People call him an old man either to demean him or because they see his actions and appearance and go ‘yeah, this guy is old’. Which is fair enough, because irl Schlatt and c!Schlatt both act like they’re from the 1950s.
This guy looks like shit by the end, but he looks alright at the start. Slicked-back hair, sharp ram horns, golden animalistic eyes. He’s intimidating. And loud. Then everything shifts, right towards the end. He’s frail and deteriorating throughout his short presidency, and by the end of it he’s practically a corpse, just like Wilbur.
He’s 6′3, with broad shoulders and a silhouette that seems strong not only because he carries himself as if he can fight, but also because of the percieved power that comes along with it. In reality, Schlatt is a poor fighter, and the abuse he ends up putting his body through (working out excessively to try to fight his condition, and turning to alcoholism as an escape) completely destroys him, making him probably one of the least healthy and weakest people on the server. It doesn’t really show until his death scene, since he’s covered up the deterioration since day one. Basically, mans is dead.
Glatt, or Ghost Schlatt, or whatever you want to call him, would be a healthier Schlatt. Again, from the ‘water rising’ era. I headcanon him to have longer hair in that era. Not sure why.
Ranboo is the same height as tommy, but is more naturally lithe than made that way by lack of food. His enderman DNA can be blamed for that. He’s healthy most of the time, but may have spirals where he doesn’t take good care of himself (perhaps he forgets) and he looks pretty bad. If he goes a few days without keeping up his self-care routine, he looks a lot worse than he actually is. Sleep tends to be his biggest issue, his mind keeping him awake all night and leaving him looking like shit in the morning. Really, he’s just a kid with a troubled soul, and it shows sometimes. Most days, though, he looks very well put together.
Tubbo. He’s 5′6. He’s more childlike than Tommy, which only makes it worse when he acts in the way he does in season 2. He has burn scars across one side of his body, from his execution, and he is partially blind in one eye because of it. He takes very good care of himself, since he has to look good while being president if he wants those sweet sweet approval ratings. But when he’s super stressed, he will pull all-nighters and forget to eat. He’s got a lot of issues, but his body is very normal and healthy, all things considered.
Quackity is 5′8. Which is really funny because that’s his actual height. He’s less sharp (?) than a lot of people on the server, but he has some muscle because he’s constantly training to ‘take down Technoblade’ (in reality, it’s a habit he picked up in Schlatt’s era, and never had the heart to drop). He tries his best to stay healthy (again, to better kill Techno) and he’s careful with his life, knowing that it’s his last.
Niki is 5′5. She’s also able to kick so much ass. That is all.
Dream is a bitch and therefore I will not be discussing him. Also he’s a blob or whatever so I guess height is irrelevant. Or maybe he’s a mysterious figure with a mask. Who knows.
No one else is important enough to talk about /j (but really I’m tired so I will stop here). Put your own thoughts in the comments, tags, and rbs. This was all in good fun, so don’t get mad haha.

Ok hot take: The Eggpire should’ve won at the banquet.
Gonna be honest I really want the Eggpire to win in a major stream. It’s just... I guess I’ve always had trouble taking them seriously and antagonistic force? Let me explain why.
One of the things I love about The Dream SMP is the fact that the antagonists have a long history of winning. When it’s a battle between 2 conflicting sides it feels like battle, and (in the older streams especially) because of the improvised status people didn’t hold back, and it felt like if someone managed to win organically there would be no chance of retcons. Anything can happen. That’s the best part of it being streams, there’s no “oh there’s a bunch of episodes left with ‘insert thing here’ in the title, so they to win”. There are real, unpredictable stakes. Not to mention, every major antagonist has done something tangible, and had something that makes them a real threat. Let’s look at the antagonists thus far:
Dream (l’mansburg independence war):
Actively prevented L’mansburg from becoming a thing. He was the admin, it was his say.
Had stolen the Discs back in the disc war
Got Eret to betray everyone, causing all of the members to die
Blew up the nation itself
Killed Tommy in a duel
Got power over Tommy via the discs
Basically won the war
Final Explanation: Though this was back when there was less roleplay there was still tangible acts and reasons to take him seriously. Not only did he have a past with conflict with the current “protagonist”, he basically won at every step of the way. He was bad, because he stood in the way of the “protagonists” getting what they want, and he had real power to do that.
Jschlatt:
Had the presidency, and by the viewer vote rather than a simple power seize (legitimacy as a threat)
Had the charisma/intimidation to get the citizens of L’mansburg to enforce an exile of Tommy and Wilbur
The speech. You know the one.
 Was abusive to Quackity
Killed cats
Taxed Niki (and got her to pay said taxes)
Caused Wilbur’s downward spiral
Manipulated Tubbo, and purposefully kept him from Tommy
Had the intimidation/charisma/perceived power to get Techno to kill Tubbo (his ally) at the festival.
Was directly responsible for Tubbo loosing his cannon lives, this would later be one of the reasons he was so vulnerable to Dream
Warped the nation into something that felt wrong
Got Dream to betray Pogtopia
Final Explanation: While Jschlatt didn’t have a lot of power tangibly, he had a ton of power in convincing others to do things, and was very good at seeming powerful. That being said the effects of this persuasion had the tangible consequences of lives lost, and lost allies. Not to mention he wasn’t even the main antagonist on Doomsday, I’d argue that goes to...
Wilbur Soot:
Blew up L’mansburg
Lied to Tommy, and betrayed him on Doomsday
Was someone the audience saw as a good person before Wilbur’s downward spiral (legitimacy)
His speeches were some of the most iconic in the series
Was someone Tommy looked up to
Worked with Dream, a known antagonist
Actively egged on Tommy’s anger in the pit
Kept trying to pressure Tommy to do things he repeatedly said he didn’t want to do
Actively staged the blowing up if L’mansburg so that Tommy would be onstage when it blew up. Tommy who also only had one cannon life. Even if it didn’t succeed, attempted murder to prove a point is not okay.
Didn’t care when Tubbo died in the festival
Didn’t care that Tubbo was onstage
Didn’t care that Tubbo was onstage when he blew up L’mansburg
Final Explanation: Even if you don’t view Wilbur as a bad person, he has done some bad things, and was most certainly an antagonist. He destroyed the nation we worked to build, and his paranoia caused him to do actions that could be described charitably as questionable.
.
Dream (exile conflict and beyond):
(Oh boy, this is gonna be a long list...)
Did everything himself (legitimacy x10, especially after Jschlatt’s power and downfall being reliant on others)
Previous history as an antagonist
Super skilled and powerful. One of the best fighters on the server. Extremely powerful. (legitimacy)
Took 2 of Tommy’s cannon lives. Eventually took all 3.
Used the threat of Tommy’s death to get him to go what he wanted. A threat caused by said taking of 2 cannon lives.
Built walls around L’mansburg, and forced Tubbo to exile Tommy for him to stop
Blew up Tommy’s armor (and other stuff) every day in Exile
Manipulate Tubbo into thinking he was his friend.
Told ghostbur to go into the forest and leave Tommy so he would be alone at the party
Kicked George off the thrown
Payed Sam to make Pandora’s Vault to imprison all his enemies. Actively helped with the construction.
Telling Tommy his friends hated him
Telling Tommy that Tubbo never actually visited to make him question his sanity
Just, his entire abuse and manipulation of Tommy
Overall, just exile (I’m not going to list everything, there’s too much)
Seemingly having no points of attack against him (legitimacy)
The scenes of Techno to get Techno to hand over Tommy (legitimacy)
Getting Techno to team with him to blow up L’mansburg (legitimacy)
Blowing up L’mansburg for a final time
The fact that him, Techno, and Phil won against the entire rest of the server (legitimacy)
His manipulation and control of Ranboo
The Vault, and him getting Tubbo and Tommy into a vulnerable position despite their preparations
The fact he was going to force Tommy to be completely isolated in a prison with the only think he could do is think about how it’s kind of his fault his friend died
The fact he was going to kill Tubbo
The fact he was going to keep Skeppy in a 1 by 1 cage to blackmail BBH
The fact he was going to steal all the server’s most valuable possessions to control them
Manipulating Sapnap during his prison visit, so he could facilitate further manipulation of Ranboo
Killing Tommy in the prison
Laughing after her killed Tommy in prison
Saying he was going to kill him again as an experiment
Saying he was going to brung back Wilbur, specifically after Tommy begged him not too
His reaction to people finding out about Tommy’s death and revival was “do they think it’s cool”
You get the point, Dream was done a lot. Its a very long list.
Final Explanation: Dream is powerful because he physically does everything himself. He has no apparent weakness. He’s manipulative, seemingly obsessed with hurting Tommy, physically powerful, and is the primary antagonist to the server. He wins the majority of the time, and when he wins it doesn’t feel like anything could be done to prevent it. He also relies on himself for basically everything. Overall, Dream does an amazing job of being an effective threat.
While I could go into the other characters that are more controversial as being classified as “antagonists”, I think you get the point. What makes antagonists on the sever intimidating is the tangible things they do. Every good antagonist on the server has a list of mostly irreversible tangible effects of the plot. Jschlatt got Tubbo executed, Wilbur blew up L’mansburg, Dream did... a lot of things. Every major antagonist has succeeded in some way at successfully irreversibly hurting or destroying something the audience had an active attachment to. However in my eyes the egg has not done this as well as the other antagonists.
What makes the egg different from any other antagonist as its fundamentally a bunch of blocks, rather than an actual person. Not to say the egg can’t work because of it, but in general selling the audience of the idea that it’s am actual dangerous force is extremely important. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really succeed in doing so.
Let’s attempt what we did for all the other antagonists, but this time apply it to the Eggpire. Let’s see what they have they done:
The Eggpire (feel free to add anything I miss):
The egg warps the mind of those on the server. It can generally influence people into either loving or seemingly into hating it.
It twisted Bad (an previously wholesome character, but with hints of a darker side) into someone willing to do some pretty bad things, including murder (legitimacy)
It brainwashes its members into working for it
The Egg took Skeppy, this is likely why Bad is willing to work for it
They tried to kill Tommy multiple times simply for the fact he’s immune to the egg
They celebrated Tommy’s death due to his connection with the egg
They tried to feed Puffy (someone originally a part of the Eggpire) to the egg. They eventually send a mercenary after her as well.
They put Sam in a hole with The Egg overnight. Though he did not join, he ate his own skin, however this has not been mentioned as a persisting injury, or even been mentioned again to my knowledge.
They stuck Ranboo in the hole near the Egg. This caused him to freak out and later try to destroy it.
They stuck Hannah in a box near The Egg despite her allergy to it.
The egg blew up a statue in the Foolish confrontation.
They trick and trap everyone at the Red Banquet
They planned to execute a room full of people
They Killed Foolish
So on the surface, it looks like they’ve done a lot of bad things on par with the others. However upon a closer look you will realize something: almost everything on this list either failed, or was something that had no importance established before The Egg plot started. Let me explain why with all the corresponding bullets:
The egg warps the mind of those on the server. Yes, it technically does, but when you think about it no one who actively was against the egg has been forced to join it. The only person was Bad and it wasn’t The Egg’s control, it was Skeppy. Even those left overnight with it haven’t joined. We can only conclude it’s abilities are fairly weak.
It twisted Bad. Actually this is a fair one, though it should be noted Bad had basically no plot relevance before this arc. However, though this one is a legitimate source of legitimacy for The Egg, it’s a bit counteracted by all the other points.
It brainwashes its members into working for it. Does it really though? Basically everyone but Bad was influenced by it offering power. No one who actively hated the idea of joining the Egg has joined it, despite Bad’s claims. They mostly all joined for power, power they seemingly have no gotten. But still not much has changed as The Badlands was already power hungry before The Egg. It can be argued that thats the point, but it still fails in relation to all the other Eggpire failures.
The Egg took Skeppy, this is likely why Bad is willing to work for it. This is another good one... except it happened 4 months ago...
They tried to kill Tommy multiple times. Yes they tried. And failed. Multiple times.
They celebrated Tommy’s death due to his connection with the egg. While this is bad as an action, it’s more of a “look how x has effected these characters” than an actual tangible bad act. It’s more of a dick move than evil.
They tried to feed Puffy to The Egg. They eventually send a mercenary after her as well. Yes they tried. And failed. And yes they did try to send a mercenary. A mercenary who not only failed, but betrayed them.
They put Sam in a hole with The Egg overnight. You know this could be good if it left a scar, or became a big thing in Sam’s character. However it was never mentioned again.
They stuck Ranboo in the hole near the Egg. He got out after immediately, they didn’t even close the hole. Also I don’t see “one of the most rich people on the server now wants to destroy you” as a win. They seemingly gained nothing from this.
They stuck Hannah in a box near The Egg despite her allergy to it. Okay finally they turned someone. Someone completely new to the server. Someone who was not involved in any events before this. You know, like every other Eggpire member.
The egg blew up a statue in the Foolish confrontation. This is the only display of power we have ever gotten from The Egg, and Foolish out completed them with the “Totem of Death” thing. It wasn’t even an important statue.
They trick and trap everyone at the Red Banquet. They do that. Then they loose and get The Egg itself captured by all of their enemies directly after pissing them off.
They planned to execute a room full of people. They did plan to do that. Then they failed. They failed partially to do with the act of poking Techno with a stick that was his visit with Ranboo.
They Killed Foolish. This would be a lot more impressive if Foolish didn’t have all 3 cannon lives left, and if it wasn’t followed by them failing to kill an entire room of unarmed people, and having one of their own members loosing a cannon life. And they lost the godamn egg itself
Basically everything done was either to something newly introduced to the roleplay, or it failed. The Eggpire keeps repeatedly failing every step of the way, and has yet to have a major success. What makes it not work it though it may win some battles, it’s never at a state of winning the war. It makes it so hard to take them seriously when they make a threat. They have the success rate of Team Rocket from Pokemon, and seemingly every stream has them blasting off again. There are plenty of things that could be done to remedy this: they could get someone with heavy plot armor previous establishment to the lore under their control, they could make a plan that actually succeeds, they could successfully pull of an execution like the one at the banquet, or anything that physically effects the characters on the server. However they need to succeed in something. The problem with the failure at the banquet was that it further proved that the Eggpire will never succeed. It could’ve been a killing on par with Doomsday, yet instead we got deus ex Techno and Quackity.
I rest my case. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
(But anyway that’s just my view of why I never could really be intimidated by the egg, I’m open to counter arguments and suggestions. Lol I really just want the egg to successfully do something)
#the red banquet#the egg#the eggpire#eggpire#badboyhalo#bbh#dsmp badboyhalo#dream smp#mcyt#I swear#just do something#anything#that’s all it takes to fix this#I’m tired of how they keep failing yet are meant to be intimidating#I can’t take them seriously lol

//This is gonna be a long, probably not properly formatted post, but i just couldn’t help but gush about and ramble about this. Also prepare for a wall of text why everyone is the traitor /hj//
I just have so many thoughts on what happened yesterday. Like all the foreshadowings and plotholes and plotlines have been set in motion, completed or filled. And it makes my little writer soul happy, you know?
It was obvious Techno and Wilbur would be the traitors, since Wilbur multiple times said so himself and Techno literally murdered Tubbo in cold blood. Maybe not so much cold blood cause “hE WAS PEER PRESSURED” and stressed af, but you get the point.
We knew Philza would join Dream SMP pretty much, since Wilbur showed him the script on stream recently. Also like Traitor Philza anyone? How many posts have you seen of the ultimate traitor being Philza? I have seen lots, but in the end weren’t like half the people traitors? Niki betrayed Pogtopia subtly by leaving and building another city, but i guess this depends on your point of view and opinion, since in the final battle she did fight for Pogtopia. Wilbur was the traitor (everyone knows that) by blowing up Manburg, when it all seemed to go right. Techno was the traitor to Pogtopia, but was also betrayed by Pogtopia. Techno was here to abolish government not make another, but at the first time, he knew what he was getting into. Tommy spoke about taking back L’Manburg for two months, since the election, so I do not know why the surprise. While I agree with Techno that they were just terrorists, because Schlatt was elected, voted, not a tyrant in full meaning of that word (this is so complicated, i love this). Eret was the traitor to Dream for a change, because he wanted to help and join Pogtopia, but was also betrayed by Dream, who had supposedly no way of knowing Eret was going to betray them, he just took the crown and plopped it down on our cottagecore lesbian George, who either sleeps or builds cute houses.
Also Philza being the one to slay Wilbur is just amazing, because there are so many possibilities motives. Philza said he couldn’t kill Wilbur, but he looked on the people of Manburg, L’Manburg, Pogtopia and Dream SMP, Badlands, he looked at all the people gathered here, staring up at him and he said he couldn’t kill his son. Wilbur said he was the one who destroyed L’Manburg, His L’manburg and ordered Philza to murder him. And he did. But why?
Did Philza kill Wilbur, because he knew, that even with Schlatt gone, Wilbur would continue to cause wars and battles and death and pain? Did Philza kill Wilbur, because he knew that Tommy looks up to Wilbur and wouldn’t be able to not let himself be manipulated? Did Philza kill Wilbur, because he thought nothing else could stop him from becoming a monster? Did Philza kill Wilbur, his son, because he couldn’t bear the thought of not being able to help his son, while one is traumatised, staring at them from where he miraculously survived the explosion and the other one was betrayed, but also a traitor and he just needed to do something? Did Philza kill Wilbur, because he looked at the blown up land and he heard his son begging for death and he at that moment was the only person who could make a change?
Hell if i know, there are too many posssibilities, but what i DO know is that i’m going to meet theories and conspiracies across my tumblr dash for weeks and I will be able to read all your amazing essays and I just can’t wait for it you know?
Chekhov’s gun. We knew L’Manburg would blow up. It would make no sense for it to not blow up after a month of it being the major plot device, one of the few things to keep it going. It needed to happen or otherwise the plot wouldn’t make sense. If this was a book and not minecraft roleplay, I bet everyone would be angry that the Wilbur character didn’t blow up as he said he would through half of the third book of the series! Sure there would be people happy that he didn’t, but let’s all be honest here, all the AUs would feature him blowing it up, it was really the only way for there not to be a massive plothole.
Tubbo becoming a president wasn’t that to be expected before the stream, but during the conversation with Quackity it was hinted towards. We all thought it would be Tommy who’d been hinted towards in the “You’re never going to be a president, Tommy” speech of Wilbur. And to be fair, he was a president for like 1.2 seconds, before he went back to get his discs which as exasperated leave me, because come on you’ve been at these discs for like almost HALF A YEAR WOW, make me happy cause it means more plot to come, chekhov’s gun right? I’m not sure if this applies here though, since they’ve already been used. We’ll wait and see right? Tubbo became a president like he was supposed to become. We all expected him to become the vice president, since Tommy always titled him his right hand man and the parallels were too strong. From Secretary of State through Schlatt’s right hand man through a traitor to end as the President of L’Manburg. Or New L’Manburg should I say?
And it’s even worse when you think about how Wilbur appointed Tommy KNOWING L’Manburg would blow up in a moment. He wanted to give him everything he could ever want and then steal it away the next second, violently, not leaving a shred of hope for it to return. Because, you see, with the discs? Tommy always could fight for them, steal them, get them back. Physical small objects, but worth so much. But L’Manburg? Tommy just got it back, his second home, his people, his place and Wilbur planned to immediately rip it away violently. Tommy would rage, he’d curse, he’d plan revenge. Which is exactly the reason Tubbo is the better choice to be a president.
Tubbo doesn’t hold grudges, so unless he’s manipulated, not many wars will be initiated by him. He was one of the people who tried to fight the wither, he was the one who immediately jumped to gathering people and making plans for the future of their country. He was the one who made plans to rebuild their nation stronger and better. He jumped to making and building and communicating rather than fighting, which seems to me like something a good leader would do.
Wilbur as the president barely did things, mostly used pretty words or fought. Only later in Pogtopia he actually did most of the stuff in their ravine, but he still left grinding and food for Techno and in the end he went insane and no good leader should be an insane one. Schlatt? Schlatt wanted to chop down the trees, kill the animals and destroy the nature. He may have been a better, closer and an actually elected leader compared to Wilbur, but that doesn’t mean he was a good leader. So it is possible Tubbo will be the best leader yet.
But will he even be able to be truly a leader? Tubbo said himself he’s not sure how the whole president thing goes and he agreed to just call it a friend group, so they’re not demolished by Technoblade again, so he’s never going to be truly a leader, especially since Philza joined and everyone looks up to Philza. They’re not going to have a leader, because Techno will kill anyone who even hints towards it and Dream would probably do that as well. Or so he says, but then he made Dream SMP a kingdom, a proper kingdom with a true king. Because let’s agree, Eret was never a leader before. He was just there, sitting pretty in his forest. There was no true kingdom before, just a group of people who decided to play along for the sake of the spy. But even then, it seems pretty hypocrytical of Dream, doesn’t it? He says down with the government, with organized nations, presidents and leaders and yet...
King George has happened. But at what cost, I would say sadly and possibly crying if I didn’t expect it to happen. It was bound to happen since the very first WHITE FLAGS, TOMORROW, OR YOU’RE DEAD. He’s earned no right to the title, he didn’t participate in this war, he hardly does anything on the server. He’s just an heir. Dream forcefully removed the last monarch, so George could become the king and I feel this is going to be a big thing in future, since it wasn’t that focused on during the last streams. I think so at least? We’ll see.

Oh honestly, I was shell shocked watching the argument because it genuinely seemed so real? And like damn- I’m surprised Quackity didn’t break down because I was terrified- I’m glad Quackity is getting the recognition he deserves though and now he’s joined Pogtopia, he can really make some changes(hopefully)-I mean sure, he gives some comic relief but he really is such a deep character if you really look at him- I’ve liked him for a while but damn, that was just- wow- I think an interesting thing about the whole dream smp is that like the first war was this Hamilton esque thing with y’know Wilbur vs Dream! And then after that, the dream team just sorta dipped y’know? I mean we got George whos kinda got a backseat with Quackity, then we’ve got Sapnap who I will admit I don’t know too much about what’s going on with him- and then we’ve got Dream who’s seemingly with Wilbur in all this and y’know getting L’Manburg back- I just think it’s quite interesting how the tables have turned really-
Same! If I were in Quackity’s shoes and Schlatt were yelling at me like that I would’ve broke down, acting or not! They both did such an amazing job selling it, and bringing the argument to life. Really made their whole relationship leading up to it, and Quackity’s leaving much more realistic and emotional.
I honestly miss seeing the Dream Team together, I mean none of them are super active on the server anymore, and I even miss their interactions with others on the server like Tommy and Tubbo. But, I also like how they’ve kind of made way for the new villain. Them being less active takes away from their past role as villain. Dream has a reason to be siding with Tommy and Will, but the other two were just accomplices during the first war.
Part of me hopes a huge war will break out (despite Schlatt not really having an army) and Sapnap and George will make their own dramatic comeback. I mean, imagine: the entirety of the Dream Team, L’Manberg, and then all the stragglers like Skeppy, BadBoyHalo, AntFrost, Awesamdude, etc etc, coming back and just kicking some ass! It would be fucking awesome, and really bring everything full circle. Maybe the Dream Team won’t be on the same side as L’Manberg afterward, but at least they’ll resemble something like allies. Sort of like their relationship right after the first war.
I also think it would be really cool is somehow Alyssa came into play with all of this. I know she was never really apart of the roleplaying, and mainly just hung around the server for fun, but I think it would be really cool if she got involved. I mean, imagine her and Niki together, they would be a fucking power house! This thoughts a bit of a stretch, but still something I think would be really cool and add a lot of depth to the plot, and tie everything together from both pre-disc war, the disc war, post-disc war, and now Schlatt’s rule.
All in all, I’d love to see the Dream Team make a dramatic comeback. And, we don’t really know anything about George’s standing with Schlatt, so that could also cause some drama, especially if George were to side with Schlatt. That would cause beef between the Dream Team, and urge Sapnap and Dream to play more active roles, despite them not really being a major part of the story anymore.
Every character, no matter how big or small their role was, is important to the story. I mean, look at Schlatt! He was on the server for barely a day, got banned, and now he’s back and fucking shit up! Who’s to say other people won’t be rising from the ashes of the past to fuck more shit up?
There’s endless possibilities!

So.
Today? It happened. Tommy’s dead.
And as much as it is possible for him to come back to life bc of his plot armour and dream proving he still has power or whatever.....
I..kinda hope he doesn’t.
Hear me out ok-
Heroes always have happy endings.
And the ones that don’t? The ones that die?
They die in combat. Saving the world or some shit. Doing something good.
Tommy..he’s considered a hero by a lot of the fandom. And by an equally large amount he’s not.
Let’s focus on the first part of the fandom for now.
In so many stories we read, the heroes that die? Hah! They die by something fucking majestic or some shit.
It’s not realistic honestly, but none of the Dream Smp really is per se. but..being killed by something abrupt. Unexpected.
Like a heart attack. Or...being stabbed to death on the street. Something unexpected. Not hinted at. It’s abrupt. And it’s odd. But it’s realistic. Any of it could just happen in a split second.
Like.. being beat to death by the man who has abused you for so long. The man you had finally gotten justice over. The man who FINALLY PUNISHED FOR HIS CRIMES.
Have we ever someone’s symphony finish just as that?
No.
No we haven’t.
And maybe we should.
Maybe he should die.
And the fact. The fact that a fucjing minecraft roleplay. A MINECRAFT ROLEPLAY. Can give us such fucking feeling. And emotion. And tears.
It’s soemthing of another plane.
They only have one take.
One take to get it right.
And they do.
And it makes us cry.
And I think that’s amazing.
The dream apologists, maybe the jack manifold fans, and Niki nihachu fans as well.
Many are probably celebrating. Maybe not the manifold fans. His victory against the child was ripped once again. From Dream.
Even in death the child makes him suffer.
And people think it’s justified.
People think many things are justified.
But it depends on who you watch. I watch mainly Tommy Tubbo & ranboo, yet I remain unbiased.
Everyone’s done horrible things at some point.
Tommy has.
Tubbo has.
Ranboo has.
Jack, Phil, oh I could Go on and on.
And people who watch them don’t usually see flaws in their logic.
Though people who don’t can.
EVEYRONE has done horrible things on the dream smp.
But in the same sense they have also done many good things.
And everything is relatively morally grey.
And, to quote The Good Place
“What matters isn’t how bad someone was yesterday, but that they’re trying to be better today”
For example,
Tommy is.
He’s building a hotel for refuge that anyone can stay at in case another war comes somehow, and they are left with no place to stay.
Dream isn’t.
He’s still plotting revenge.
He’s playing the victim.
Yet he still doesn’t see himself as the villain.
In fact I don’t think anyone sees themself as a villain.
Eveyone has their own reason for what they do.
I mean, imagine trying to fight trys by from striking again but EVEYRONE sees YOU as the villain.
C!Techno doesn’t have to imagine.
Imagine trying to take down the one that has cause you SO MUCH PAIN only to fail over and over and no one excactly sees them as the villain.
Jack and Niki don’t have to imagine.
Just look at things from a slightly different perspective and suddenly everything is justified.
The dream smp is a minecraft roleplay server.
One with a complex script.
It’s funny how blockmen can bring us to tears sometimes.

hi i’m going to discuss the doomsday war streams and overall the conclusion of what i’d consider season 3 of the dream smp because hyperfixation go brrrrr
(for clarity sake: season 1 is from when l’manberg defects from the dream smp to when wilbur decides to host an election. season 2 is from swag2020 vs pog2020 to the manberg vs pogtopia war on nov 16th. season 3 is from the start of tubbo’s presidency to the jan 6th doomsday war.)
tldr: i definitely think the cc’s can look on what happened this season and improve greatly. that’s not to say this wasn’t a good season, there are a lot of things they’ve improved since season 1, but there are also things they can improve on in the future. this season was lacking a connecting thread or goal and it made it feel disjointed and left character’s in limbo. a way to fix that could be either scripting the story more strictly, fixing communication problems and/or making the plot into more self contained but slightly overlapping stories.
i think my biggest problem with this season was the fact that it felt so disjointed. one of the best things about the first season is the consistent plot line: l’manberg is trying to win independence. you had eret’s betrayal, dream’s tyranny, wilbur and tommy’s whole dynamic, and an underlying subplot with the disc war, but it all ultimately connected to l’manberg’s fight for independence. it’s what makes the first season so good and that kind of consistent plot is missing in this season.
even the second season had the main plot of taking back manberg. there was wilbur’s insanity, but that tied back to the elections. there was tension between tubbo and tommy, but it tied back to the elections. even the badlands tied back to bad, ant, skeppy, and sam deciding they’re done with manberg AND pogtopia and deciding to stoke the fire. it all tied back and character’s had weeks to slowly develop with the setting.
this season you had techno retiring, ghostbur reconciling with fundy, tubbo’s presidency, whatever was going on with schlatt and quackity?, george is king?, el rapid mexican l’manberg that whole thing, tommy’s exile, el rapids fighting dream smp/eret’s kingship?, the butcher army, techno UNretiring and teaming with tommy, tommy using techno to get his discs back, techno using tommy to destroy l’manberg, the prison, the bloodvines, and probably more im forgetting. there was a LOT going on, even techno and wilbur have ooc acknowledged this. and in my opinion it was just too much. character’s weren’t given enough time to develop naturally and the pacing had to go fast enough to fit all the plot into it, leaving little time for the character’s relationships to develop with the plot.
most notably this is a problem with character’s like niki, fundy, ranboo (though not too bad with his character) and eret. eret had worked hard on a redemption arc and then had to go back to being king because george didn’t want to be involved (then changed his mind which...okay) which really fucked up all of the development he spent a LOT of time on during the second season. niki had to jump from siding with tubbo and tommy against wilbur’s insanity to suddenly tubbo’s president and her character just...can’t know that wilbur is dead for some reason? and now she needs content so she has to scrap together an anti-hero plot for herself. fundy’s works a little better i feel, with his lowkey insanity arc he’s having as of now, but the problem with him is he didn’t get enough lowkey plot moments to show his character’s devolution from neglected to vengeful. ranboo was thrown head first into the plot and while he’s doing an AMAZING job of keeping himself afloat, he just hasn’t had enough time to make his character’s mental decline seem believable, at least to me. not enought has happened to his character for it to work out, due to pacing. all of these character’s are AMAZING concepts but the fact that they feel so inconsistent can be related back to the fact that there really wasn’t any time given to let character’s slowly develop and change, and instead they had to cram all of their character development into the first 30 mins of a plot important stream.
and i will offer a counterargument here of the fact that season 3 is when wilbur’s writing stopped and also was when it really started catching a large audiences’ interest. so naturally more people wanted to be involved and due to the nature of the way this story is told, where each character is an actual CC who needs content and can’t just be a background support character, there HAS to be a lot going on for everyone to get their slice. and i think that’s the ultimate downfall of using this medium to tell a story. you NEED those background characters, the characters that don’t have to be 3 dimensional, the characters that don’t need to be there for everything and get their lines in. so i can’t fault them for having a clunky story when it has to be that way to be fair.
ultimately i still really enjoy the story, and i hope this doesn’t sound too nitpicky. it’s downfall, of everyone having to be an important character, is also what makes it so good! don’t like the “main character”? go watch someone else, who’s the main character of their own POV of the story. every single character is incredibly complex and has their own unique set of motivations, goals, and traits. it works really well with the running theme of history, and how not only does it repeat itself through miscommunication and ignorance but also how the opinion on events changes from who’s telling the story. the fact that you can tell every CC genuinely cares about their character also really does show in the acting and writing and just everything about the server and story. the flaws of the story are very easy to look over because of just how much time and care all of them put into this server and it really helps the story. an okay story written by passionate people with always be better than an amazing one written by apathetic storywriters; and the smp’s story is definitely more than just okay, at least to me.
i didn’t want to write this just to complain and then offer no solution, so i do have a few ideas on how i’d like to see this fixed or at least improved. they actually already somewhat do this, but i feel like they could start breaking up the plot more. similarly to how there was the bloodvines plot going on at the same time as tommy’s exile plot, i feel like they could take a chunk of say 5-10 members and they each have their semi-contained plot. especially with l’manberg now destroyed, the thing that way tying a lot of the members together, it would be easier to do this. there can be connecting threads through the stories, like how tubbo and fundy would see the bloodvines or bad would visit tommy in exile, but ultimately not every character has to be involved in everyone else’s story.
say you have tubbo, tommy, quackity, fundy, ghostbur, and dream for one plot of trying to get the discs back and making dream revive ghostbur. at the same time you can have techno, phil, ranboo, dream, and sam dealing with the prison and techno or someone being put in the prison with dream manipulating ranboo through his memories. bad, ant, sam, puffy, and skeppy can continue with the egg. eret, fundy, niki, and ghostbur work through the trauma they’ve gained from everything with l’manberg and their interpersonal relationships. similarly to how karl is doing the tales of the SMP right now, these storylines are self contained but characters can overlap and therefore so can relationships.
my other solution would honestly be to just work on the seemingly lack of communication. make sure everyone is getting the content they need (with people having to understand that not everyone is going to get the animatic worthy lines every stream, and not everyone gets to play a huge part in each event.) however this entails having a much more concrete script, which highkey removes the charm of the smp. it also means that inevitably someone is going to not be getting good content, or content at all, and that’s not fun or good for anyone. ultimately i’d like to see an improvement on the communication for the plot (niki feeling excluded, george and eret not being told about important events, communicating when people are trying to have genuine canon important speeches and not BMing them (cough cough tubbo at niki about her taxes cough cough techno during tubbo and tommys reunion)) and that doesn’t necessarily have to mean a fully fleshed out script.
in the end, what everyone on this server has managed to do with this storyline is something that’s genuinely impacted me! it’s opened my eyes to new ways stories can be told and this fandom is the first big one i’ve been in since probably fucking voltron or homestuck in the mid-2010s. i love what the CCs have managed to do, and while i think this was a healthy amount of criticism for the story i in no way want to demean just how much passion and effort the CCs put into this server. none of these people are professional story writers or actors so the amount of talent we’ve seen is astonishing. this is simply me expressing what i think the problems are, because every story has problems, especially one that’s being made with such a unique medium like improv roleplay streaming. if you have anything you wanna add please feel free to add to this post or reply! i’d love to see :) thank you for reading if you made it this far lmao

OOOOH BOI PRISION GREEN BOI
So dream is now in prision and is my turn to make a whole essay about it
So people keep thinking sam sus but HE IS JUST ROLEPLAYING, LET HIM BE, i also want to congrat him for his amazing work at making the prision, it deserves so much appreciation for making such an amazing design and mechanics on it, a really cleaver work.
Now with tommys visit, we all know what dream was doing, his old manipulation games, he knows tommy had gone trough trauma in exile and he knows what being lonely without nothing left felt like, he tried using the "i miss my friends and home" card but he messed up in his villain speech in the season 2 finale lol, tommy has already broke his chains and is already strong enough to stop believing dreams lies, even though in the stream you can still see how he still feels a bit bad and the way he makes dream write novels somehow makes me feel a tiny friendly connection between them, is just about time dream gets to manipulate tommy once again.
Now my theories, maybe techno will finally give dream that favor he ows to him, we all know techno is a master mind that could destroy and kill anything he wants, maybe he will study the prision trough visiting or examining tommys and other people streams, maybe if techno does free dream from prision, this will be the moment the syndicate shines, techno is powerful as a single, but he has philza, maybe ranboo? Idk im still confused on that part, and probably niki, this would be a perfect opportunity for the syndicate to finally start growing and maybe if they do get dream out of prision, they could possibly add dream to their syndicate, making their anarchy probably the most powerful of the server, i mean dream and techno were once on the same team for just one day and in that day they destroyed lmanberg with withers and almost infinite tnt but thats just a theory A GAME THEOR-
Anyways thanks for coming to my TED talk

cc!Tubbo appreciation :D
The dude is just so cool.
Like, I opened stream once and he was just playing ukulele and im fairly certain he’d gotten side tracked but he was having fun and doing what he wanted. Which was fun to watch. Yeah I thought there’d be funky block men but funky Tubbo and guitar was better.
Or the chess stream where he was dancing and singing and spinning in the chair, then still won. Like, he’s so good at chess and that takes brains so he’s really smart and aaaaaa.
HE PLAYS THE WII PARTY THEME SONG!
And the skill he has as a streamer, to do those alt streams for like 6-9 hours almost everyday, then go on others streams and still bring energy (though it varies). That’s just nuts.
I’ll push this and push this but he’s so good at lore and roleplay and aaaa.
I’ve already said he’s smart in the chess segment but the things he talks about, apparently he talked about genetic engineering in Ranboo’s stream, are so intresting. And chat does a huge disservevice when they tell him to shut up because no. Let Tubbo be smart, let him talk about these bloody intresting things he knows about, or is learning about, or just has thoughts about.
THE DUDE CAN PADDLE BOARD, HE PADDLE BOARDS IN JEANS, KING SHIT.
cc!Tubbo is so bloody cool and there will be other posts that explain even more amazing things he does. He’s my favourite streamer for a reason. He’s so cool and I can’t say it enough.

Tommy’s reactions to everyone thinking he’s dead are understandable seeing as he has gone through yet another traumatizing situation and no one is caring a bit. They are curious first, something which (probably) reminds him of Dream claiming his death can be ‘a science experiment.’ They are constantly reminding him of this. The major changes the server has been through are unsettling
And Everyone has grieved or is still grieving. In what has been a month since Tommy was imprisoned and 11 days since he died, moving on is the natural process of time. They do not know what Tommy went through and there disbelief is at the front of their mind. This is understandable and they will need time to adjust to having him back.
are statements that can and should co-exist.

Season 1 and Season 2 of the Dream SMP were written very differently to each other.
Season 1 focused more on one plot thread about L’manberg. Everyone was in one side out of three on their view. Dream SMP, L’manberg and Pogtopia (in what I refer in my head as the second act). Each pov could have their own lil plot thread but the setting was of more importance in the freedom of the story they could tell. Eret being a traitor isn’t important because Eret’s the traitor. It’s impactful because of who is being betrayed. Character’s such as Wilbur, who used L’manberg to grow the character of course were going to come on top.
Season 2 had multiple plot threads about the aftermath as people reacted differently. Which was to be expected. This is what allows Niki to go villain, Tubbo’s difficulty as president and Dream and Tommy’s exile arc. because setting took a back seat. The story is no longer L’manbergs story but the character’s story. When Techno stopped focusing on L’manberg but governments or Dream stopped caring about L’manberg but sentiments we see a change. because L’manberg is only important If they chose for it to be important. That is why Ranboo and Techno can hold up away from L’manberg with interesting plots over in the Artic and the eggpire. There is nothing holding all the characters together for one plot. everyone can do what they want with more freedom. It is only a suggestion
And both of these ways of writing work well in the Dream SMP. The use of Twitch allows Season 2′s style to work. It’s brilliant use of the platform. We have preferences. Okay, sure fine. I prefer Season 1′s way of writing. You can prefer season 2′s. I for one am interested in how what Season 3 will follow with the current set-up.
What I’m trying to say here is don’t shit on the writers, be that Wilbur or Techno, Tommy, Dream and Quackity. The way the Dream SMP was written in the seasons made it just as easy for anyone to snatch the spotlight. It only seems like Wilbur did it because in the second act, he was the only person in Pogtopia (an already small group may I add) with anything big going down. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes but that is how it has appeared to me,

Grey Morality and the DSMP
Everyone on the Dream SMP is morally gr- NO!
But they all have their own selfish motivat-SO CLOSE YET SO FAR!
Morally Grey characters are people who do too much bad to be good AND too much good to be bad.
Think Robin Hood. He steals Bad. He gives that money to the poor Good!
Now let’s apply this too Dream SMP characters.
Dream: He abused Tommy Bad. He wants the server to be united Good! So, does wanting the server to be united balance out abusing Tommy? No!
Tommy: He burnt down George’s house Bad. He takes actions to protect others. Good! Griefing is an average activity on the SMP, burning George’s house isn’t dreadful. Meanwhile he tries to protect Tubbo etc... That’s a good thing that outweighs the bad things. This doesn’t mean Tommy is perfect. It doesn’t mean you cannot critic his actions. It just means he’s not morally grey. He’s just your average person. You don’t call the average person morally grey
Sam: Chopped off Ponk’s arm Bad! Keeps Dream in the prison and others safe away from him Good!
Is c!Sam good or bad? Does keeping dream locked up justify chopping off c!Ponks arm? That's what makes Sam morally grey.
The discussion on good v bad can go both ways without excusing the bad things, or forgetting the good.
So stop saying everyone's morally grey. Most people on this server are, Yes. Everyone is. Oh hell no.
You can still criticize and defend characters who aren't morally grey.

I keep seeing teams of just Tubbo
see, I believe that Tubbo alone could win an mcc (assuming their were 4 of him). So, like the bored person I am. I put in MCC16 teams into the reddit’s stat simulator, and replaced all of aqua with Tubbo.
As you can see in the bottom, Aqua is indeed, all Tubbo. He could win with this order. I’d believe in him.
In 165 runs of the simulation randomized, just Tubbo would win 19 of those times, making him the 3rd most likely team.
I believe in

Hello, and welcome to a pretty long post about the Dream SMP and the Bad Guys of the server.
First of all, this is about the roleplay, so here
-> -> /rp. Roleplay!! RP
With that out if the way...
I'll be giving my thoughts on the characters of Wilbur (Ghostbur and Revivebur included), Technoblade, Philza, Quackity and Dream.
Not all of them are absolute villains, in fact I would argue that the only true Villain of the story is Dream.
Not that this is what the post is about though, so let's start.
Everything is under Read More/Keep Reading, so click that and your will see more
The point that I want to get across is that actions have consequences and from those arise conflict and the cycle is repeated.
In all of this come in their beliefs and their humanity. But also how the treat others.
I know there's lots to say about All of the server members, but not everything that goes on the smp is canon and sometimes we need to take other stuff with a grain of salt.
Now, I'm not saying the others don't have their own fucked up moments in canon, they do, just take a look at Sam, Foolish, Sapnap or Fundy for example.
There's plenty of those, but there's also been repentance, apologies, attempts to be better and to turn over a new leaf. Now if that goes well is another story, many people are still traumatized and suffer terribly, like Fundy. God look at Jack, he's not doing any better. Neither is Niki.
But, returning to the topic at hand, with Dream we've got nothing of that. First of all, yeah he's said he's doing better but he has said so since the start of Prison Arc, which I have all the reason to believe was a lie. I reckon he's not doing any better now after so many months of torture and isolation.
Revenge is what's most likely in his mind, and the prospect of a new wonderful rampage of murder.
And I think, many of his apologists resonate with the fact that he feels revengeful because he's been wronged and treated inhuman. That's your human response to seeing someone you project into or that you like, be hurt. And I'm not excusing the torture Sam and Quackity put him through, but all of these events are a chain that ultimately had been started by Dream and perpetuated in the course of the months leading to his imprisonment.
We can't ignore the pain Dream has been going through in Prison, like we can't ignore the pain and injustice inflicted to Techno while sharing the same cell, and for in general being just a dangerous and powerful individual.
But those are direct results of their own actions, the repercussions for having abused a minor and almost driving him to kill himself, for manipulation (Dream) and too many self-righteous acts of destruction, an escalation of incredible proportions (Techno). This is a small example of what they're done, by the way.
Also, people aren't scared of powerful individuals per se, I mean yeah there's that underlying understanding that they could kick anyone's ass and will if they want to, but Techno and Dream aren't the only ones who hold their own in terms of wealth and power. And they can be overpowered if the server unites against them. It's happened.
Foolish is probably the richest on the server, he's an amazing builder, he flaunts his ability and he has fun with it. He's also a god, he can summon lightning, he's peaceful now, but a long time ago he was bloodthirsty and ruthless. He's very Fucking old. Ranboo is very rich, very caring, but will not give a fuck about the safety of those he doesn't love. He may worry, but that's not really caring. He'll break your neck if you touch his friends and family. He can be dangerous.
So power comes in different forms on the server.
Fuck, if you're impartial to what's going on you get assign to The Throne, not that it holds any actual power outside of just talk and imagination, but it was a pretty big deal around season 1 and 2. Now it's purely a decorative power. Still a position that exists nonetheless though.
Though, there's another very powerful thing that started wars and ended them, that ended debates, sedated or kickstarted revolution.
Words. Or the ability to be charming with your words. Just being convincing is enough of a threat in this server.
Wilbur is an obvious example, he's a smooth talker and knows his shit.
Quackity is incredibly skilled as well. But there's others.
Tubbo is very good with his words, he reflects, he collects his thoughts and gives his best for the best possible outcome.
Tommy is very eloquent with his words, even when he stumbles, mumbles, cuts off or repeats himself, that power is in how he feels so much that his emotions translate into words, all his passion spills from his mouth, it fires up the troops, gives new motivation when it starts to die out, and he's so fucking convincing that Dream was intimidated by him. He needed to be silenced. So there, Exile. Tommy's never stopped doing this though, he's weaker but his belief still stands. Don't give up on people. And he talked about this to Foolish when Wilbur was recently revived, he made a deep impact on him too, we could see that.
These incredible skills are not what makes these characters human though. It's because the people of this server are so human that their talents shine so bright. A person's worth is not defined by how good they are at something, they are worthy on the principle of just being and existing. How their worth is seen depends on how they act and make their choices, here everyone is biased. Death means something different, life is different, being alive is different. Not all of our standards apply to this world's mechanic, mainly, just them being people applies.
So, let's talk about The Disc Finale, at least to those who've seen the streams or at least some clips. I hope it's not too much to ask. Anyway.
We've all heard it. Dream wanted to kill Tubbo because he wasn't useful to him anymore, because he wasn't fun. He was just a pawn, blah blah.
But let's stop and think, other members of the server aren't that "useful" either in comparison to Tubbo, so why not just put him in prison? Let's be real, he wanted him out of the way and that's it. Dream's not above lying to get what he wants, or the sake of lying itself. In fact, he lies so much he usually goes silent or gets very heated when he tells the truth. It's so very fun to distinguish the difference.
The Essence of Dream's speech is that he wanted to take every member's most prized item to keep them under control, move their strings around like they're puppets and not people with a will. He wanted them to play into his narrative, ignoring how they might feel about the matter and, I mean this, you cannot have watched the Disc Finale streams and tell me Dream's "wish" to make the server a big family again was true because I call bullshit. Big time too. It doesn't make sense. Not only because his actions in the months before AND after do not line up with this thought, but also because if you watch how he talks about everyone to Tommy (and I can cite a few streams, all from different eras, like Pogtopia, Tommy's exile party, the Disc Finale, Tommy's Revival) you know he doesn't actually view anyone as individuals, but as pawns. He dehumanizes all of them, repetitively. The legitimacy of his words can be debated but the obvious fact here is that while he's lied so much to Tommy, he's strangely open with him when talking about others. He's just more open with him about anything. He wouldn't talk when people first visited him in prison, but Tommy came in and he had no problem speaking. You can't even make the argument that he wanted the big family dynamic and peace there was before Tommy had arrived, because there really wasn't any, and by his own words it's Tommy that brought everything that makes the server fun for him, so it doesn't make sense.
Let's continue with the timeline now.
What happened after everyone arrived at the
Secret Bunker and saw for themselves the shit he was trying to pull. They're all okay with Dream being killed, he loses two canon lives at the hand of Tommy, and he's boxed like Tubbo was at the Manberg Festival, the only reason he's alive: the Revive Book, of which existence is debated. Sam steps in and offers to take him to the Prison with the help of Sapnap and Punz. Now Dream is imprisoned.
But, oh, the prison. Pandora's Vault. The Most Secure Prison on the server, commissioned on the second day of Tommy's exile by Dream himself. Said to have been for someone else, but let's be frank it's very probably for Tommy, with all of his triggers included in the design of this massive structure. I'm sure that's not important to the story at all. Ah. It sure is though. It's even brought up when Dream is thought to have escaped, when Sam has a very bad time and explodes, screaming at him. Dream denies nothing, which usually happens when the truth comes out to bite him in the ass.
Anyway, after this enormous tangent, we can start talking about all of The Big Baddies.
I have seen and continue to see posts criticizing Quackity for torturing Dream. And people keep comparing it to real life torture, the American Prison system and all that. Well, good for us that this is a Minecraft server and not real life. Phew.
I think some of us fail to remember that while comparison is a very human thing we do and is almost impossible to avoid, all the stuff that goes on in the DSMP is just a roleplay. They're playing a game, telling a story with real life elements and situations but it is Not a direct reflection of our life on this bitch of an earth.
I've never seen a pig fly in real life, I know it's a famous saying but keep it together c'mon.
So, since this is a story with a narrative that calls back to famous tropes we also have roles that some of them play into. Villains, heroes, anti-heroes, anti-villians. All fun stuff.
The villains and the antiheroes of this server are different from each other, their actions may be similar, but their reasoning (as we've heard) and their past define them.
The Big Baddies are all different from each other, and I want to focus on their differences. Seen plenty of similarities pointed out already.
We have Wilbur, a man that Loved the country he founded, Loved the people he founded it with, who had a family there and friends he cared for. He fought wars, saw death for himself and others at the hands of his enemy. He then descended into madness, paranoid of everyone and restless because he wanted more power than he could bargain for and lost it all because of his cockiness. He loved so much, so profoundly, he gave himself so completely to the idealisation of Freedom and Love, that when that wasn't his anymore he crashed and burnt and fell, destroying everything in the process. The very thing he founded the country for, wasn't there anymore for him, so the whole thing needed to go down.
He's not a villain, because he wasn't bad for the sake of being bad. He has a view of the world that is very Black and White, so either things are or aren't. I think this runs in the family.
He did bad things but he wasn't coming from a good place, by the time November 16th rolled around, he was so convinced that he had to be the villain in everyone's story, so convinced he was unredeemable, too bad to have anyone caring for him, that when the assisted suicide happened, by the hands of his father nonetheless, he arrived in Limbo with this firm belief still intact. And it made him suffer so much for so long, it's still shaping how he sees the past now that he's revived. He's so emotionally scarred, it's no fucking wonder he appears apathetic to some topics or just straight up ignores when others are suffering. It's too much. And he's only recently noticed that. He's giving Tommy space, but still starting shit up with Ranboo because he's that petty.
Ghostbur, who we all love I hope, suffered from what I think is a subconscious apathy that erased anything that wasn't a happy memory. His memories are also somewhat warped by his strive to have everything be good, but the moment something bad is happening, he knows it. He recognizes the pain and it's too much. He's also not some stupid baby, incapable or useless. He tried so hard to make amends for Alivebur's actions, he himself was full of love and used it to build something great again. It was then destroyed and spoken about like it was shit, guess what he did? He forgot.
Onto the next Big Baddie. This one's gonna ruffle some feathers I think.
We have Technoblade, a fighter, who has a strong will and stands by himself and his ideals against time and space. So willing to give himself to the cause that when he felt betrayed by his very own friends, he unleashed hell.
But in his own self idealisation he was blind to see that while he is a person, so are the people around him. For all the talk of power and retribution he does, he's very petty when others make him pay the price that's due. A quote I think is appropriate for him is: "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.". Because he truly is one the most capable, powerful people in the dsmp, that's a fact. Unfortunately he considers himself to be judge, jury and executioner and that, in my opinion, is what makes certain things completely jump over his head. He's clueless and cold in a battle which he proclaims to be fighting fervently. He's so caught up in his own beliefs and ideals, that everything that goes against him and those must be eradicated. I think he actually suffers from an incredibly giant case of victim complex. All he has to offer when asked why is this repetitive anarchist propaganda that in theory should help people but when applied to this server, it only creates more hurt and destruction.
Next, we have Philza, a man who's been grieving for his son for a long time, after killing him with his own hands mind you.
We know his view of everything before New L'Manburg is skewed because in his letters with Wilbur, the reality was lit up like Christmas Trees, pretty and blinding. A bunch of lies, warped truth at best.
His views are also similar to those of Techno, which means he's rather blind as well. He's old and very patronizing, sure he's a nice man in theory, but he's ruthless and listens so little to what people have to say that the meaning of their words is worthless, lost in the wind and the sounds of TNT cannons. It's not a secret that he treated Ghostbur like a shell of his past self, nothing more than a child, but Philza is so set on being a bringer of justice, truth, peace, that he forgets, other people around him are not children, and even when they're very young, they can think for themselves and express their opinion. He doesn't even seem to see this in his own son, who's an adult.
Both him and Techno, relish in the destruction they bring, whether it be for noble causes or to make people pay for their wrong doings. They lack empathy in my opinion, and the ability to let others be.
Now let's talk about Quackity.
He started as an outcast, joined the rebellion then fought back against Wilbur when he tried to position himself as president, without a lawful election. Quackity wanted it to be fair, the president must be lawfully elected. Very good of him, but he also wanted power. They gambled their votes, they made compromises and came to a conclusion. There could be coalitions to help some parties win.
Schlatt and Quackity ended up as President and Vice President, so finally Quackity had the power he wanted. Or so he thought.
Here's where I think most people started comparing him to Dream, which meh.
Quackity wants power because that's what will keep him and his loved ones safe, he wants power to keep away danger, to be important and have influence. In season one, we see he also wanted what's right for others so after being treated like shit by Schlatt, he left him and joined Pogtopia. He felt bad for Tubbo being executed, they were friends after all, and had tried talking Schlatt out. Nope. Then Schlatt died. Then Wilbur died. Things die down and New L'Manburg is being rebuilt. For so long he was, along with Tommy, one of a few to see Dream's machinations at work behind the scenes. He's unable to stop Dream taking away Tommy for his exile. He also became very vengeful, they went after Techno for unleashing the Withers on the Manburg Festival, he tried in many (unhealthy) ways to let out the profound anger and hurt he felt. So after Doomsday he created Las Nevadas, which started as a place for him and his fiancees, which ended up being a project where he poured his grievances into. Fast-forward to season 3, he started torturing Dream AFTER he had killed Tommy, his friend, and wanting the Revive Book after knowing it was real and needing it after supposedly having lost the game with Glatt that one time they met in the gym.
The book is power, which is ultimately in the wrong hands, not that Quackity would be the better option, since no one should have it, period. Quackity is also full of the shit Dream has put him and his friends through, he's revengeful and drowning in his own problems and paranoias. He's one step away from having a very bad breakdown in my opinion.
Anyways, here we have, at last, the Bitch.
Dream, an incredibly powerful pvp'er, that ever since the first arrival of new people, raised an iron fist and drove it right into Tommy's face. Targeting his group, but mainly the boy. He went against his own rules, killing whoever he wanted, for example, and being petty over others' achievements.
He pushed Wilbur over the edge, dug a wedge between Tubbo and Tommy. Had a heavy involvement in the destruction of L'Manberg, Manberg and New L'Manberg. He commissioned a Prison to be built, which could hold inside approximately 30 people, with a special high security cell. He set those same conditions and rules that were later called out to be inhumane, which apparently was fine as long as he wasn't in there, because the prison was aimed to contain someone else in the server. And talking about inhumane conditions, let's reference something from Tommy's exile arc, where he had rules set but never explicitly said out loud, for which the teen would be regularly punished for breaking. The manipulation, the conditioning, the abuse, both mental and physical are all things done by Dream ON PURPOSE, which he'd been planning for a While. Exile lasted weeks. His effect on Tommy is still present. And while talked about less (for some reason) he also manipulated Tubbo in the span of those weeks. His reasoning for all of this is, Chaos, and Fun. And that's canon.
All of them have done absurd acts of harm, violence and destruction but the why and reasoning for each is different, so let's remember that. Also Dream's straight just a dick.
If you read all of this, thank you, I'm glad other people are as crazy as me.
If you have anything to add, criticism included, please reblog and add your thoughts. I'm open for a conversation, I created this post with that purpose in mind.
Ok so /rp
I'm curious. In your opinion, what's the difference between all of the Big Baddies of the DSMP narrative? And I mean Wilbur (Ghostbur and Revivedbur included), Techno, Quackity, Philza and Dream. (Btw you can throw in your two cents about others as well).
Their philosophies, actions, crimes and justifications, what sets them apart from each other? I've seen many people compare them all but for once I want to see the differences not the similarities.
I know many people have lots to say about the matter, here's a place to talk about it, y'all are a bunch of very brilliant and well worded analysts, so I can't wait to read your thoughts on the matter, even those who only have a couple of lines to type are welcome to share. So, Discuss.
