She fought in the Boshin War and served as a nurse in the Russo-Japanese War and the Sino-Japanese War. Later she became a scholar and became one of the symbols of the struggle for women's rights. Yae was one of the first people to be decorated by the Meiji Empire. (Wikipedia)

Hu Tao pops out of absolutely nowhere and scares the hell out of (Y/N), but she is beaming with energy.

Despite the fact the clock had just struck midnight, and S/O was in their own room.

(Hu Tao) "Soooo, what do you plan on doing? Got any cake for today?"

(Y/N) "Hu Tao, I'm trying to sleep. We can talk about this in the morning...Actually, how did you even get in my house?!"

(Hu Tao) "Details we can discuss after your birthday plans! Now, what do you want for today? I can try my best to get you a good sale!"

(Y/N) "Well, it's not a coffin or ghost, I'll tell you that much..."

(Hu Tao) "Wow, buzzkill! I guess I won't treat you to Xiangling's today after all!"

Hu Tao is definitely the type to throw a surprise party, though it's not much of a surprise since she appeared in their bedroom.

Later when it's actually a humane time of day, she invites them over to her home to celebrate properly!

She still wishes they could've had the celebration late at night though, Hu Tao had a lot of jokes planned...

Normally, Yae is supposed to do a formal recital of wishing a pleasant birthday.

But to hell with that, that was boring.

Yae decides to wish (Y/N) a happy birthday in her own way.

(Yae) "(Y/N), I expect to have a good meal today."

(Y/N) "Shouldn't I be the one saying that to you?"

(Yae) "Perhaps, but surely you don't plan on going anywhere mundane to eat for such a very special occasion, right?"

(Y/N) "N-Not if it's going to bankrupt all of my Mora!"

(Yae) "Oh come now, I do not eat that much."

(Y/N) "Wait, why am I paying for you on my birthday?!"

(Yae) "Well, thank you for offering! You're such a kind soul!"

She doesn't really host a party for (Y/N), at least not by herself. But at the very least, she'll make it a damn entertaining day, for better and worse.

Oh, (Y/N)'s birthday. Neat, Chiori supposed.

(Chiori) "Yes yes, happy birthday and all that."

(Y/N) "Hah, calm down there Chiori, you're getting a bit too excited."

(Chiori) "I hope you don't expect me to have cake and balloons ready to spring out at you."

(Chiori) "At least you understand that part."

Bluntness aside, Chiori handcrafts (Y/N) a nice present before their very eyes.

A handmade gift could speak more than a million bought gifts ever could.

As much as Navia would disagree with her.

(Y/N) has better chances of Chiori throwing them a surprise party as they would surviving a lightning strike from the Raiden Shogun herself.

45's smile seems to soften when (Y/N) enters the dorm, though it was nearly pitch black.

(UMP45) "Well, you took your sweet time coming back."

(Y/N) "45? Why are you in my-"

UMP9 leapt out from underneath the table as the lights came on. HK416 was leaning against the wall while G11 was face first on the same table, sleeping away.

And in the middle appeared to be a cake that looked...ambitious, to put it kindly.

(UMP45) "Happy birthday.~"

UMP9 blew on a party horn, the small paper unfolding and making a small doot noise as her arms extended in joy.

HK416 simply shrugged and grunted, and G11 was still comatose.

(Y/N) "T-Thank you guys! You didn't really need to-"

(UMP45) "Not really, but I figured it'd be fun to celebrate something special with you."

Her smile only seemed to grow when (Y/N) joined her, watching the chaos unfold as UMP9 tried to cut a cake, despite the fact the knife was getting dangerously close to G11's unkempt hair.

(UMP45) "Thought I'd bring the squad along to have fun too. Clearly it's working better than I thought."

(Y/N) "This is already so chaotic though!"

(UMP45) "Exactly."

Makoto is caught off guard when (Y/N) enters the room, holding a small cake with a candle in it.

The cake itself seemed terribly made, as it looked like it'd crumble if one simply stared at it for too long.

(Makoto) "U-Um...Welcome back! I tried to make something for you myself and...you see how that worked."

Makoto sighed but (Y/N) laughed, giving a comforting hand on her shoulder.

(Y/N) "I appreciate it, still. But hey it smells really good!"

(Makoto) "And the taste...?"

(Y/N) took a bite out of it, and smiled, turning back to Makoto.

(Y/N) "Honestly, not bad! I'm not dead yet!"

Makoto chuckled as she sighed.

(Makoto) "Well, I suppose that's good reassurance."

Makoto would fail instantly at a surprise party, mostly because she'd spend too much time to get it ready, only for (Y/N) to walk in way too early.

Each series will be in bold, I would accept any characters from that series in asks or prompts. The characters listed below each series are the characters from it I would like to see the most, but they aren't required for asks or prompts from the series itself.

Any muse labeled with (Gender Transformation) are characters I will only accept in a genderbent ask, or in asks involving the character having their gender transformed as a part of the story.

If none of the male muses are calling to you, crossover asks are allowed if you want to put someone with Makoto Naegi from Danganronpa, which seems to be a common thread for my blog. Like Makoto Naegi x Rosa from Pokemon. This can also include crossovers like Jaune Arc from RWBY x Mirko from MHA.

Also to note is that as of now, with how much of them are in my inbox, I'm not accepting asks involving Danganronpa characters, with the sole exception of crossover asks involving Makoto as the male muse.

The last note to make here is that I will temporarily be accepting asks and prompts involving anonymous characters, or original characters provided they aren't self inserts. I will also accept asks and prompts of monsters like slimes, and other beasts. This means asks involving a character such a an original villain with mind control powers for My Hero Academia would be accepted, or a gang of thugs or villains for DC or Marvel comics would as well. Along with stories involving hilichurls or slimes from Genshin Impact, or something like the grimm from RWBY.

This is a temporary test to see how I feel about it, I make no promises that it will remain that way. It's dependent on how I feel when writing these stories.

- Tomoe Gozen (1157 – 1247 assumedly)

While Tomoe Gozen* was mentioned in the Tale of Heike, she may have only been a character, as she doesn't appear in any primary sources on the Genpei War.

*'Gozen' is not a name, but rather an honorific title, thpically translated to Lady

- Niijima Yae (1 Dec 1845 – 14 June 1932)

Born Yamamoto Yae to Yamamoto Gonpachi, a samurai and official gunnery instructor in Aizu Domain. Her family claimed descent from Takeda clan's retainer Yamamoto Kansuke, also known by his formal name Haruyuki, who was a brilliant strategist.

Yaeko was skilled in gunnery having been taught by her father, which is fucking sick. A legend is told of her dressing in her brothers garb in order to fight, though I couldn't find much on that.

After divorcing her first husband in 1871 due to him becoming a prisoner of war, she moved to Kyoto in search of her brother, and became a sub. teacher at Kyoto Women's School, acquired her tea master qualification in 1894 and became a tea master.

She re-married to Rev. Joseph Hardy Neesima [in 1875], a former samurai who lived in the US to seek higher education and promoted for women's rights. Neesima was in the motions of building a Western School that promoted Christianity (which was not appreciated by Buddhists and Shintoists). After the marriage, Yaeko was dismissed from her teaching position, and she volunteered to assist running the new school.

Yaeko played an integral part in the founding of the Doshisha English School. The couple (alongside help from Alice J. Starkweather) later opened a Joshijuku (small girl's school) named Doshisha Branch School for Girls and then Doshisha Girls' School.

After the death of Neesima (1890) shifted her focus to nursing and became a member of the Japanese Red Cross later that same year. Yaeko joined the army and was stationed as a nurse in Hiroshima during the First Sino-Japanese War. Her efforts in improving the social status of trained nurses was recognised in being awarded her first Order of the Precious Crown in 1896.

After the war, Yaeko became an instructor in nursing schools. Then she rejoined the army for the Russo-Japanese War (1904) and as a volunteer nurse in Osaka. This earned her her second Order of the Precious Crown and was further awarded a silver cup at the inauguration of the Shōwa Emperor in 1928.

This diva girl-bossed her way through history right up until her death. Hell yeah.

- Nakano Takeko (Apr 1847 – Oct 1868)

Nakano was born [in Edo] to Nakano Heinai, an official of Aizu, and Nakano Kōkō, daughter of Oinuma Kinai, a samurai in service of Toda of the Ashikaga domain. She was well educated and from a powerful samurai family.

She recieved training in martial arts, in literary arts on Chinese Confucian classics and calligraphy, and was later adopted by her teacher Akaoka Daisuke. Nakano also taught students younger than her, including her younger sister.

Nanako's certification, or menkyo (teaching license) was in Hasso-Shoken, a branch in the major of Itto-ryu*. She both served as the secretary for and taught naginata to the wife of lord Niwase, whom she was employed under at Itakura estate.

She left her position in 1863 when she was adopted by her master, but later reunited with her Edo family.

In 1868 she was in Aizu for the first time, and spent time teaching women and children naginata in Aizuwakamatsu Castle, as well as capturing voyeurs in the women's bathrooms.

At 21, Nakano participated in the Boshin War where she, alongside other women, took the front line without permission, as the senior Aizu retainers disallowed their participation as an unofficial part of the domain's army. This unit was later called the Jōshitai (Girls' Army). This ad hoc group included her 40 year old mother and 16 year old sister, and was lead by Nakano under Furuya Sakuzaemon.

In October of 1868 Nakano led these women to face enemy forces at Yanagi Bridge equipped only with their naginata while Meiji troops had firearms. When the men realised their targets were women, the commander ordered them not to be killed. This allowed to the Jōshitai to kill many enemies before the attack continued. She was downed by a bullet to the chest.

Sure. I would have loved to continue the narrative of Jin Sakai, as it felt for me as though the end of the game was not the end of the story of the Ghost of Tsushima.

In saying that, Ghost of Yotei shouldn't be blacklisted just because it features a woman. If you don't wanna play the game due to a feminist movement that only might have something to do with the choice of a female lead, then don't play it. Simple. No one is making you buy it. No one is telling you you have to enjoy it. There is no gun to your head.

There is nothing that I have seen so far that makes me think this game should be thrown to the side. The trailer visuals look just as stunning as Ghost of Tsushima and two swords sounds mad. Just because I'm excited about a new story, does not mean that I enjoyed Jin's journey any less.

Samurai Festival - Aizu Matsuri by Ronin Dave

Haruka Ayase, came dressed as her character, Yae Niijima, from the period drama, Yae no Sakura, which is about women warriors of Aizuwakamatsu, known as Joshitai, during the Boshin War.

I’m surprised Japanese Historical Dramas are not added to the list so here they are:

Niijima Yae in Yae No Sakura (2013)

Takes place during the time when Commodore Perry arrives in Japan forcing it to open its border which resulted in the rapid modernization of Japan years later. Story revolves around a woman who is born into a gunnery family where her father and brothers are well versed in using “muskets”. Her desire to become stronger to protect her family in uncertain times caused her to learn to use the modern weapons despite her father’s objections. In the end, when a war broke out between the last shogunate and the new imperial government, her gun skills comes in handy in protecting the castle and her loved ones.

Nakano Takeko in Yae No Sakura (2013)

Aside from Yae, her friend, Takeko, who is more well known in history as she is more of a traditionalist as she prefers to fight the traditional way using Samurai weapons instead of guns (kind of like Katsumoto from The Last Samurai) used by the westerners at this point in time. This causes tension between the two at the beginning as they have different principles and beliefs about war but eventually respected each other during the war. A strong-headed female warrior who will lead the female warriors into battle against a modernized army as the castle’s last line of defense. 

Ii Naotora in Naotora The Lady Warlord (2017)

Takes place during Sengoku Jidai way before the arrival of Commodore Perry where Japan is at war with each other due to the many clans fighting for power (kind of like the Japanese Game of Thrones). Naotora comes from a small clan serving a bigger powerful clan which was crushed by a rising rival clan which war killed her father, uncle and all the able bodied males in her family, leaving her to be in charge of the clan as a Lord even though a woman is not allowed to do so. She goes all out to defy those who oppose her and do whatever it takes to protect her surviving clan and family. 

You can check them out but take it with a pinch of salt as they do not have a “happy ending” like Mulan. I mean it ends with the bad guys losing but at a heavy price, because after all, they are based on real life which is cruel.
