it's funny how wildly vampire media varies on how much blood drinking is lethal. for some vamps, if they get lost in the sauce for even just seven seconds then you are a total goner, absolutely deadzo. for others, they can have a multi minute sloppy slurp sesh with you twice a week for months on end and you only feel a little woozy. the vampire claudia drained her whole boyfriend in less than half a minute but count dracula himself needed like four tries to exsanguinate one teenager with a sleep disorder. one of the many ways in which claudia is superior to dracula.

Today I'm covering the first three episodes of Vampire Knight season one, and I'm really looking forward to this one. Watching this show is like being blasted back into middle school and the height of the Twilight craze and the golden age of Harry Potter fanfic, and I am simply beside myself with conflicted nostalgia for what were pretty undeniably the worst years of my life. And I can already tell that this story is going to be one big ol' problematic clusterf*ck... especially because I'm 99% sure I know a spoiler about Kaname.

do you ever think about how the night louis and lestat hooked up for the first time they'd been having dinner with louis' family and lestat likely hadn't fed yet and had instead spent the evening eating human food which canonically tastes awful to vampires and obvs does nothing to slake their thirst for blood so he was no doubt Very Very Hungry when he took the little drink from louis yet he was still able to control himself and not take too much because he was so in love with louis and had been in love with him for months hearing the pumping of his heart when they were together watching the blood slide down his veins wanting to taste him So Bad but not enough to kill him never enough to kill him...
