Mao has upped her production game to a point where it no longer sounds like she’s experimenting. The music here is determined, confident, and occasionally downright threatening. Mao has never been shy about her politics—a casual browse through her Twitter feed might turn up thoughts on the BDS movement, Black Lives Matter, wealth inequality, American militarism, police brutality, or a number of other hot-button progressive topics—but A Fossil Begins to Bray feels like the first time that her rage and her dread have been fully harnessed in her music. Okay so I watched the old guard.

And you have no idea how much I'm telling myself don't start planning an au where Lan Wangji finds out he is immortal, but Wei Wuxian was never brought back. So now he can't die and meet his love.💔

He meets Andy and Quynh. They convince him to join after it's obvious he can't stay with his Sect.

Meets Nicky and Joe. For a few years he's a bit upset but only because it makes him think of WWX. And bc he's Lan Wangji, Nicky and Joe misinterpret him until Andy can't take it and tells them to talk it out. She's getting tired of being skewered due to them sniping at each other.

Afterwards they end up with a tentative friendship.

When Quynhs gone he plays Inquiry for Andy's sake to give her hope that she is alive. After a few years she asks him to stop.

Booker does not now what to make of Wangji but he makes a bet with the others on how long he can last with alcohol. He still cannot get past the first sip.

Nile thinks Lan Wangji hates her until he gives her a rabbit plushy with a red ribbon to hug after her nightmare. She thanks him. She get's him another one to be it's buddy.

Nile knows nothing about Wwx. Booker knows he misses someone he loved. Joe and Nicky know about Wwx but not the whole story. Only Andy and Quynh knows the full story.
