Tw: anti-semitism
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh man! I sure can't wait for Harrison Bukter to be covered almost 24/7 by right wing evangelical media like FoxNews for his antisemitism in a university setting, specially since they just love Jews and care for their welfare soooo much, I mean that's the only reason they vehemently defend Israel, right? And of course!!! he's gonna have senators saying he should be hostilitized and arrested by the national guard as well anyyy minute now, just the Columbia protesters! Oh Biden is gonna make such a Normal® and Democratic™ speech on a white house press conference about how the NFL needs to be made accountable for Peace and Order™ just like the Columbia protesters, riiiiiight? Because of course this whole repression of speech and activism on private universities is truly about antisemitism...right?

Trump Falsely Claims Swift Endorsement
Trump lies again by claiming Swift endorsed him when, in fact, Swift endored Biden and spoke against Trump. Another underhanded trick! Doesn't he have any integrity or morals?

WHAT IS A CULT? CONTROL, SURVEILLANCE, EXCLUSION by YOUTOLOGY
youtube
LAPD: THE BBQ POLICE by YOUTOLOGY
youtube
I know what's important right now. How about the rest of the adults in this country? It's disgusting that THIS is happening in America. I don't give a flying fuck for those privileged college asses, trying to get their Revolution bonafides. This shows you exactly what Scientology is doing to children, and people who come here under Visas. Our leaders in Congress do and say nothing. How powerful do you have to be to get every drop of Law Enforcement to ignore what's happening?
The second video is also quite entertaining, as the buffoonish LAPD stalks peaceful protesters in L.A. under the orders of the cult.

The funniest thing about the NFL's "End Racism" end zone logos (which they put in post 2020 BLM protests instead of actually doing anything) is that every now and then you have a shot that just says "RACISM" in big, bold letters across the screen.

this past week was interesting, dating an nfl star was never really a calm experience, but that's what you signed up for when you began flirting with the joe burrow after one of his big high school games. who wouldn't? i mean, the man's fucking gorgeous.
he's been yours, since the summer of junior year with no change of that in sight. obsessed wouldn't even begin to describe how joe felt about you, any chance he gets he's talking about you or your future together.
coming home from a long day of early christmas shopping knowing he was inside waiting for you always made you smile. after leaving the bags in your car and locking the doors with the key pad, you hurried in the house to find your man on the couch looking straight at you.
"hi, baby," he greeted, eyes crinkling as he smiled at just the sight of you, you're quick to kick off your shoes after hours of walking many stores and shopping malls in the area, "hi, joey," you responded. all the lights but the kitchen were off, the television illuminating the living room.
the game playing on it seemed to be disregarded by joe as he opened his arms, inviting you to come sit on his lap with raised brows. god, does he know how hot it is when he's literally just sitting there? the tops of his thighs are always the best seat in the house aside from his face.
plopping down onto him and wrapping your arms around his neck, "how was shopping?" he questioned, absentmindedly running his hands along your thighs, even through your sweats they still manage to give you goosebumps. "long, i missed you so much," you mumble, breathing in the smell of his shampoo.
"i missed you more, sweetheart," pulling away slightly to press a kiss to his lips, "impossible," you murmured against them, causing him to smile even more than he was before. his tongue slide along your bottom lip, mewling as you allow him to deepen what was supposed to be innocent kisses.
moments later a need for air hits you, joe does his best to chase your mouth, but is unsuccessful and settles for the delicate skin of your neck instead. you push yourself down further onto his lap, grinding against him, breathless and with your head a bit fuzzy from just kissing, he really knows how to use his mouth in every way possible.
"i love it when you kiss my neck," you're more breathless than before, if that's even possible. joe smiles for what feels like the hundredth time tonight, "i know you do, why do you think i do it so often?" like it never left his mouth is back on your neck, this time sucking a bruise there, grazing his teeth and tongue over it to seal the deal.
you hadn't realized how hard you were grinding down onto him until his calloused hands gripped your hips, making you whine in protest. "keep doing that and i'll cum in my pants," he grits out through clenched teeth.
you smile this time, knowingly up to no good, "what if i want that, joey?"

The Good Old Days
I just feel like Jack would be such a good girl dad and this idea popped into my brain.
Tumblr media
When Jack had finally decided to take a more backseat position with professional hockey, it was a decision that both him and his wife made. The money was amazing, but when it was becoming evident that the game was taking a toll on Jack’s body, his wife had brought the idea into his head first. Jack wasn’t going to put the stick down easily, but a bad hit to his shoulder made the decision for him. As much as he dreaded not playing anymore, he was excited because that meant he could help coach on the ice, but be more involved with his family.
Him and his wife had 4 girls: Beck, who had just turned 15, Emerson (aka Emmy) who is 13, and Piper and Presley, twins that brought up the rear at 4 years old. The twins were his last hope at a boy, but it seemed that God had a cruel sense of humor and blessed him with even more estrogen in the home.
There wasn’t anything significant going on this particular night, so Jack decided to invite Cole and Alex over to eat some steaks that he had grilled. Which led to what they were doing now, drinking a couple of beers at the kitchen table and talking about the glory days.
In the midst of talking about some of his favorite plays back in the day, a screech abruptly stops the conversation that Cole was carrying on. Alex and Cole look to Jack for reassurance that everything is ok, but all Jack can do is sigh, closing his eyes and rubbing the bridge of his nose.
“Is everything ok with them?” Alex had a worried look on his face as he looked back and forth from where the screech came from, now replaced with yelling, to Jack who continued to massage the bridge of his nose.
“I’m sure we’re about to find out,” Jack groaned as the sound of stomping came from one side of the house, down the hall, and into the living room revealing a furious Beck. She was holding a poster of a young Joe Burrow in his early NFL career, but there appeared to be sharpie scribbled all over it.
“Dad, I told the twins to stay out of my room and look what they did! Not to mention they dropped my brand new eye shadow palate and broke it! They’re such brats and you and mom let them do whatever they want!” Beck was on the verge of tears, and as if on cue the pitter patter of little feet was approaching quickly.
“Daddy, she’s lying! Beck isn’t right!” The twins protested as they prepared to make the case for their innocence.
“Shut up!” Beck shoved Piper who was trying to cover her big sister’s mouth with her hand, but failed miserably.
Alex and Cole were desperately trying to suppress their laughs, as Jack was already giving them a glare as to say “shut up or you’re going to make it worse.”
“Beck, don’t call your little sister brats—”
“See, they get away with everything because they’re your favorites!” Beck interrupted as her tears were beginning to flow freely.
“If you’d let me finish young lady, I was going to get onto them,” Jack put on a more stern voice while talking to his oldest. He had learned early on that the girls would walk all over him if he let them, so he had to stand his ground. Even though every fiber of him wanted to give Beck a hug and kiss on the cheek and high five the twins for the immaculate mustache that Joe Burrow was now sporting, he was the parent and had to control the chaos.
“Piper and Presley Hughes, did your sister ask you both to stay out of her room?” Jack turned his attention to the twins.
“We didn’t do it daddy,” Piper was the spokesperson for the two, but both had the biggest blue eyes that screamed they were innocent.
“Oh really? So why are there sharpie hearts all over Presley’s arms and smiley faces on Piper’s cheeks and forehead?” Jack raised an eyebrow at the little ones.
He watched as the twins looked at the art that each one had decided to draw on themselves, realizing that they had been caught.
“Piper made me do it, Daddy,” Presley’s bottom lip quivered as a tear ran down her cheek.
“Presley made me do it!” Piper quickly followed, tears brimming her eyes as well.
Jack was unsure how he had 3 girls crying in front of him and how in the world he was responsible for them. Being a middle brother didn’t exactly prepare him for the task of being a girl dad, but he was trying his best and learning along the way.
Jack heard a vehicle pull into the garage, signaling that his saving grace, his wife, had arrived home.
“Do we want to get mom involved, or can we apologize to each other and help Sister clean her room?” Jack put the options out for the girls, their eyes growing in worry that their mom would be involved in the little spat between the three of them.
“Sissy, we’ll help clean,” the twins quickly ran from the kitchen to their older sister’s bedroom.
“Dad, they literally just went back into my room without my permission!” Beck whined, apparently choosing the latter decision.
Before Jack could say anything, his wife walked through the door from the garage and sat down her bag that she carried to and from her teaching job.
“I’m home! Alex, Cole, it’s so good to see you both!” She obliviously made her way to give the two a hug, unaware of the ordeal going on in front of her.
“Hey babe,” She kissed Jack on the cheek and then went to give Beck a kiss on the forehead when she saw the poster in her hand.
“What’s this?” She asked, grabbing the poster from her daughter and assessing the damage that had been done to it.
“Your spawns and their idea of fun,” Beck grumbled and made her way back to her room.
“What did I miss?” She asked Jack, confused as to what the big problem was.
“MOM!” Beck’s voice echoed across the house, and Jack was sure that the entire neighborhood could hear it. His wife immediately ran to the source, leaving Jack alone with Alex and Cole once more.
“Should we come back later?” Cole questioned his friend.
“Please don’t leave me,” Jack was partially joking, but Cole and Alex laughed nonetheless.
Jack braced himself once more when he heard footsteps come from the hallway that lead to the girls’ rooms, but once he realized that it was Emmy, his tension eased and he motioned for her to come sit with him.
“Mom is grounding them,” She said, rolling her eyes as she could hear Beck’s protests.
“She’s a lifesaver,” Jack shook his head and grinned.
“You should’ve just had boys, Dad. I’m the only normal one and you know it,” Emmy smirked at her dad, knowing the button to push to put him into defensive mode.
“Why do you all think I have a favorite? I love you all the same!” Jack’s voice raised an octave as he was determined to convince his daughter, and now his friends, that he didn’t have a favorite.
Cole and Alex laughed at Emmy, finding it humorous that she had Jack’s personality, just in a teenager form.
“Emmy, have you studied for your math test tomorrow?” Her mom appeared from the hallway with inquisitive eyebrows and crossed arms.
“Mom…” Emmy groaned, but knew that was her queue to retreat to her room before getting her iPod taken away.
“Jack, we need to work on your discipline skills,” his wife smirked at him as she wrapped her arms around him and replaced Emmy’s spot in his lap with herself.
“Birth control, guys….just use it,” Jack deadpanned.
He joked about it, but he couldn’t picture his life any differently. He had 5 girls that he loved so very much, even if they drove him absolutely crazy sometimes.
“So Jack,” Alex spoke up, “…did Ellen and Jim have a favorite?”
“Oh, most definitely me,” Jack chuckled, but his friends laugh bounced off the ceiling around the kitchen.
“Jack,” his wife stood up from his lap, thumping his ear before she left the room.
“Love you!” He called to her, finding joy in getting on her nerves.
If somebody would have told the three men sitting at the table that this would’ve been their future when they were in their early 20s, they would’ve denied it.
But now that the time is here, they cherish these chaotic nights, knowing one day the house will be quiet, the visits with friends less frequent, and the good old days but a mere unspoken memory.

Double post in one day? I think so. You couldn’t tell by my writings, but I’m a die hard Quinn fan. I just think Jack would be such a funny dad and I love writing about him like that. Also I have major baby fever right now…..but ANYWAYS. Thanks for reading!!! Please send in request as my good ideas feel like they are few and far between! If you want a specific person or plot, let me know and I’d love to make it come to life through writing!! Winter break just began and I have time!!

Freedmen Seek Their Fair Share of Billions of Dollars in Federal Aid and Why We Should Care/Rise UP and Support Them
By Eli Grayson Eagle Guest Writer
Eli Grayson is a Creek Citizen and unabashed supporter of the Freedmen descendants of the 5 Civilized Tribes and the 1866 Reconstruction Treaties.
This past week, we celebrated our Nation’s 244th year of Independence with family and friends over BBQ and fireworks, we should all stop to reflect on its significance, particularly in light of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
The protests that have swept the country by those outraged over the death of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and far too many others, most of whose names have not garnered national attention, has sparked a long-overdue National dialogue about the treatment of Black Americans in the United States, a reckoning with this country’s past, the many vestiges of slavery that continue today, and what we as a country can and must do to address racism. [It also reminds ALL of us that we have a long way to go.]
Not only have the egregious deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery led to a growing chorus of voices calling for criminal justice reform, it has prompted many to reflect upon racism in both its subtle and overt forms today. It has prompted many to learn about events long celebrated by Black Americans such as Juneteenth (even the NFL recently recognized Juneteenth as an official holiday). And it has prompted many to consider what steps we as individuals, and as a society, can take to affirmatively address it. Here in Oklahoma, attention has focused on Black Wall Street and the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
Tumblr media
Well known is the U.S. Government’s abhorrent treatment of Native Americans, which included abrogation of countless treaties, appropriation of land, and forced removal to Western territories, including what is today Oklahoma.
Less well known, however, is the fact that the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek) and Seminole Nations – collectively known today as the Five Civilized Tribes – enslaved Africans. Like Southern plantation owners, they bought and sold slaves and treated them as chattel property. Indeed, slaveholding was such an integral part of the daily life of these tribal nations that each entered treaties with the Confederate States of America in 1861 to ensure its continuance.
Many Americans recently learned for the first time about the meaning and significance of Juneteenth, when nearly all remaining slaves in the United States and its territories were freed – a full 71 days after Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox on April 9, 1865 to Union forces led by General Ulysses S. Grant.
Enslaved Africans of Indian Territory
This was not the case for the enslaved Africans of Indian Territory. Even after Lee’s surrender, and even after General Granger read his Orders, the enslaved Africans of Indian Territory were kept in bondage.
Sadly, it was not until the Five Tribes of Indian Territory entered Treaties with the U.S. Government on March 21, with the Seminole Nation, on April 28, with the Chickasaw and Choctaw Nations, on June 14, with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and on July 19, with the Cherokee Nation in 1866 – more than a year after Lee’s surrender – were these slaves granted freedom, tribal citizenship, and equal interest in the soil and national funds.
Each of these treaties (collectively known as the Treaties of 1866) contained provisions freeing the slaves and an express acknowledgement that the U.S. Constitution was, and shall remain, the Supreme Law of the land. Notably, there was no mention of tribal law or sovereignty insulating these slave holding tribes from full compliance with the U.S. Constitution, which includes all the Civil War reconstruction amendments.
Today, we find ourselves at a turning point in society. Similar to the country as a whole, the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek), and Seminole Nations must take this seminal moment to carefully examine their slaveholding past, their prior allegiance with the Confederacy, enshrined through Treaties entered in 1861, and how they can make amends by fully adhering to both the letter and spirit of the 1866 Reconstruction Peace Treaties.
Congressional legislation
Tumblr media
The three House bills are H.R. 2, the Invest in America Act, which includes $1 billion for the Native American Housing Block Grant Program to create or rehabilitate over 8,000 affordable homes for Native Americans on tribal lands; H.R. 6800, the HEROES Act, which includes $6 billion for housing and community development to respond to the Coronavirus; and H.R. 5319, the Native American Housing and Self-Determination Reauthorization Act (NAHASDA), which would authorize $680 million in grants to tribes in the first year and grow to $824 million in the fifth and final year.
Why is this important and why should you care? NAHASDA was originally passed by Congress in 1996 to address poor housing conditions in Indian country and last re-authorized in 2008. It is a flagship Federal law for Native American tribes and the vehicle through which approximately $650 million flows annually to the tribes. In Oklahoma, the Five Civilized Tribes receive more than $62 million annually in direct grants for housing and community development projects. These grants are based on a formula that takes into account various factors including the number of tribal members. Notably, these grants are supported by taxpayers.
For the 2021 Fiscal Year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which is responsible for administering NAHASDA, has informed the Five Civilized Tribes that they can expect to receive $62,223,462. Thus, nearly 10 percent of all NAHASDA grant funds will go to just these five tribes. By any measure, this is a significant sum, particularly when you consider that there are approximately 573 federally recognized tribes in the United States today, according to data from the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs. And, the final amount will be even greater as Congress has (appropriately) increased the amount of funds for NAHASDA far above the amounts requested by this Administration, including an appropriation of $825 million for this Fiscal Year.
Oklahoma Tribes receive millions in housing aid
Native American Tribes also receive other competitively awarded grants from HUD through a program known as the Indian Community Development Block Grant program. The Choctaw Nation was recently awarded $900,000 to rehabilitate 60 single-family homes while the Cherokee Nation received the same sum to construct a community building, which will house the Early Head Start program. The Chickasaw Nation was awarded $900,000 to construct a youth center in Ardmore, Oklahoma that will provide a safe and clean place for activities and services for Chickasaw tribal youth while the Muscogee (Creek) Nation will use its $900,000 award to construct a facility on the campus of the College of Muscogee Nation. The facility will include space for exhibitions and a lecture hall. These are worthy projects and it is vital that all those in need, including Freedmen descendants, can benefit.
Why Freedmen are concerned
Now if you have read this far, you must be thinking this is great news for these five tribes. And indeed, it is. However, for the Freedmen who are de facto members of the tribe, they may never see a dime of these funds if history is any guide.
Steps such as conditioning or denying the issuance of Citizenship Cards to Freedmen descendants, as well the disenrollment of Freedmen as tribal citizens, is what first led Congress in 2008 to include language in the NAHASDA re-authorization bill to link the receipt of NAHASDA housing grants to compliance with the treaty rights and benefits conferred on the Freedmen through the 1866 treaties.
That is why the efforts of House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters, D-California, to fight on behalf of the Freedmen of all Five Civilized Tribes is so vital.
The committee she chairs oversees HUD and is responsible for periodically re-authorizing NAHASDA. A bi-partisan bill introduced in Congress last December would re-authorize NAHASDA. However, unlike the 2008 legislation, which contained language to prevent the Cherokee Nation from denying Cherokee Freedmen under the Act, the bill introduced by Rep. Denny Heck and co-sponsored by Reps. Scott Tipton (R-Colorado), Ben Ray Lujan (D-New Mexico), Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma), Deb Haaland (D- New Mexico), Don Young (R-Arkansas), Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wisconsin), and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), does not contain any protections for the Cherokee Freedmen nor the Freedmen of the other Civilized Tribes. Similarly, the version introduced in the Senate last week is devoid of such protections for the Freedmen.
Disturbed by the pattern of denying benefits to Freedmen, Chairwoman Waters is seeking assurance that descendants of Freedmen are not denied NAHASDA funds received by the Tribes. The Descendants of the Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes have been working to include language that would ensure that the Freedmen of all Five Civilized Tribes receive taxpayer funded NAHASDA benefits. A similar effort advanced by former House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank was successful and helped to ensure that Cherokee Freedmen received NAHASDA benefits. And in case, any question whether such protections were needed, one look only to the fact that HUD held up NAHASDA funds to the Cherokee Nation for noncompliance.
Native Americans keep fight against Freedmen
Given the harsh treatment of Native Americans at the hands of whites, one naturally would expect these Five Tribes and their supporters and defenders to be more sensitive to the plight of Freedmen who today make up more than 200,000 descendants.
The reality has been quite the opposite.
Despite knowing all this, tribal leaders and their supporters and defenders continue to maintain that such language is not needed and further argue that such language infringes upon the sovereign rights of ALL Native American tribes.
Both arguments could not be further from the truth.
Language ensuring that the Freedmen have access to federal housing benefits is urgently needed for the very reason that Freedmen have routinely been denied NAHASDA benefits for years. And let’s be clear – language we are seeking does not apply to ALL tribes, but rather only to the Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes.
And it does not stop at NAHASDA benefits. Freedmen have been denied tribal citizenship, benefits, and the right to vote as well. Regarding sovereignty, these are federal taxpayer dollars – as such, the federal government and, by extension, its American citizens, have a vested interest in ensuring that all tribal members, including Freedmen, benefit from the funds appropriated pursuant to NAHASDA.
If tribes feel so strongly about their sovereign right to continue to discriminate against Freedmen through denial of federally funded benefits, they can opt to refuse the funding, which would then be redistributed to other tribes. Indeed, it is the height of hypocrisy for any of the Five Civilized Tribes or their supporters to makes these arguments as they count the Freedmen when it comes to the allocation of federal housing grants from HUD yet turn around and deny those very same Freedmen from receiving such benefits.
Freedmen are equal, lawful Tribal citizens
And don’t be mistaken. While Freedmen should be treated as equal citizens under the respective 1866 Treaties, the language we are seeking to include in each of these three bills carefully avoids this ensuring Freedmen receive taxpayer housing and community development benefits on the same terms and conditions as their Native American sisters and brothers.
Indeed, in many instances, these truly are their sisters and brothers given the extensive intermixing of Freedmen and By Blood tribal members over the years. Ironically, this has resulted in some members of a family being considered by the Five Tribes as Indian and therefore citizens of the Tribe while other family members being considered by the tribe as non-Indian and therefore like black sheep.
Yet every time we make a further legislative concession and are led to believe that we are close to a final agreement on language, the Tribes and their supporters and defenders move the goalposts. Sound familiar? Yes, a sensitive issue. The Freedmen only seek to ensure that the Five Civilized Tribes comply with the Treaties of 1866.
Tribal Nations’ actions throw shade on BLM
Lastly, the Five Civilized tribes cannot have it both ways. They cannot on the one hand claim they are victims of discrimination and participate in BLM rallies yet discriminate against Freedmen by denying them suffrage and other rights of tribal citizenship under the guise of sovereignty.
And we are under no illusion that fighting this battle for justice and equality will not remain a challenge. The Five Civilized Tribes have wielded their extensive influence amongst the Nation’s 573 tribes to frame the debate and shape the position of the National tribal organizations in Washington, whom the Members of Congress look to when writing laws that affect the tribes. Adding to the challenge is the fact that the Five Civilized tribes have deployed their sizable resources to contribute to key Members of Congress with the dual purpose of keeping Americans in the dark about their slaveholding past and ensuring that these legal protections for Freedmen never see the light of day in Congress.
But just like our Nation, it is time for the Five Civilized Tribes to stand up and confront their past by taking immediate and affirmative steps to ensure that all descendants of Freedmen receive the federal housing benefits.
This they can do by supporting legislation being courageously advanced by Chairwoman Waters that would require the Five Civilized Tribes to both comply with their Treaty obligations of ensuring access to benefits for Freedmen and report on their compliance to Congress.

Mostly managed a media blackout today but still saw some pictures and reactions and I have to express some things.
People are insane… no really they are
His violent outburst at the coach is vile, immature and disgusting. This is not how any adult should behave and I’m appalled he hasn’t even apologised for it
Literally every single photo from after the game 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
It is perfectly acceptable to still enjoy sport and/or entertainment while the world is in shambles. Just because there are wars going on does not mean all enjoyment is now forbidden and should be replaced with protesting. If you are one of those people guilt tripping others for enjoying or caring for something to make yourself feel morally superior, fuck off. Yes the world is shit, yes we should speak up about that. But when we have, we can still enjoy things and care for our own wellbeing
I’m fucking glad it’s over, this one was worse to see and harder to avoid than the other games. She looked miserable. Thanks for making me feel sad for someone I admire, NFL. It felt like watching the two versions of the anti hero mv battle each other in one body.
I can already hear the ‘she’s not the victim here, she’s a grown ass adult and she chose this’ voices. But she didn’t look like a grown ass adult in charge of her own choices, she looked like a distressed child ready to bolt. And today I felt like looking across the room at a school party at the only other kid who’s also an introvert at heart but went because their parents made them go, and nod in understanding and shared pain. It’s not the way I want to see the woman who just six months ago was the embodiment of girl power and just made history with her talent and success. Bring on the tour again and please please let this shit show be over.
(And one more thing: Remember how Taylor in 2014ish said she was attracted to kindness and a caring nature? Hm…. It sucks that the world is seemingly telling her, fuck kindness, what you deserve is an immature square man who assaults a 65 year old on the side of a sports field.)

Things travis kelce has done that a tr*mper would be very unlikely to do:
(I just want to provide information people may not know and give context. I don’t know everything about him. But I found all of this and can provide sources if wanted. I do not want to defend any actual Tr*mper; if there’s more convincing info that he is one I’d definitely want to see and know that as well. The White House thing was definitely questionable on paper but I’m considering that a Tr*mper wouldn’t be caught dead doing any of these things. Please tell me if you feel differently 💛)
1. took a knee during the national anthem during a game in 2017. colin kaepernick famously started taking a knee when the national anthem was played at the beginning of games as a protest against racism and police brutality.
I want to point out the date. Travis Kelce took a knee at the Sept 24, 2017 game. On Sept 22, 2017 (yes, just two days earlier) Tr*mp quite famously had a campaign rally where he said NFL owners should fire players who take a knee. The quote: “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, “Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!”” then went on about how the players taking a knee were ruining the NFL. This speech of his made headlines on Sept 23rd.
2. He was in a commercial about getting the covid vaccine + flu vaccine
3. He starred in a Bud Light commercial after conservatives canceled them for partnering with Dylan Mulvaney.
(He subsequently got called “woke”. For other things too. Actually I saw tweets today about how he’s woke because of the vaccine commercial, the Bud Light commercial, and because of dating Taylor).
4. He also went to the white house to be honored by Joe Biden. This year. He’s smiling in a picture with Joe Biden about 3 months ago.
the note ab how he took a knee following trump’s remarks is very telling i think

he's nowhere near perfect but I think it's both incredible and fucking wild how nascar's most influential driver of the modern era ended up being like. the only slightly left guy in the entire damn sport. defending immigrants. supporting nascar getting rid of the confederate battle flag. having danica patrick drive for him. agreeing with the nfl protests. this tweet. and who's gonna really fight him on it? he's like the goddamn prince of nascar, sure some people might disagree and even stop following him, but that won't even make a dent in his popularity. if he was just your typical average driver, he'd be hated by half the fanbase and forgotten by now. but he's not. hell, some people even want him to become nascar's ceo (seems like a stretch to me, but you gotta admit the france family fucking sucks). He's not untouchable, but he might be the closest thing to it in nascar. And he's actually a decent human being. Dale Jr, folks.
