N.Y.
I really, really, really want to go to grad school in New York. It just feels so silly- budgeting now to save up for a pipe dream, the same pipe dream every girl from Ohio has ever had. Making the noble sacrifice of depriving myself of cappuccinos as if that'll be enough for out-of-state tuition. I'd never make it in the concrete jungle. For one, I refer to it as "the concrete jungle."
And it's a lifetime away. I'm only just starting the first of my double majors next September. This silly little useless degree at a ridiculously overpriced and completely unattainable school that will lead to a career making $28,000 a year is my dream in life. I sleep in the school sweatshirt I've had since I was 12. I listen to Carnival by Natalie Merchant and watch Girls and say to myself: "that'll be me someday."
I want you to support me. To tell me I'm not being stupid (even though I am).
I'm terrified. Not of the muggers or pollution or traffic accidents, that I can handle. Of the rats. And of you.
What if, by some miracle, I do get in, and I move to the big city to cut my teeth and follow my heart? And I still don't meet you. In one the most populated places in the world, I still don't meet you.
And I've always had the most awful musophobia. And my goal is to move to the rat capital of the world? I'm walking here. Go Lions!

Looking back some years ago, I would never agree it was possible to make money on the Internet. I had believed that YouTubers were just making videos to get more views on YouTube by alluding to the fact that they made money on the internet. How? So I thought.
But today, my perception has changed because I am a beneficiary of one of such YouTube promotions on ‘how to make’ extra income using the internet.
There are countless opportunities on the internet - gaining insight on knowledgeable topics, and financial independence, is just a fraction of what we earn by using the internet wisely to our benefit.
My first attempt was using a Survey and gaming app to earn my first online income. It was as easy as ABC! While using my phone, I could conveniently answer some questions and get paid for my opinion or feedback.
The outcome of my discovery has yielded positive results.  It is possible to make money on the internet, with legit earnings. So, while I engage in my academic work, I still continue in my quest which is, surfing the internet for financial opportunities, and helping the right audience to give it a try by making money on the internet space.
If you doubt the possibility of financial opportunities on the internet - not your fault - so did I, which was years ago. But not anymore!!

Happy Children's Day - Children's Day in India - Newsepick Newsletter
🌏 Children's Day, a global celebration of youth, reminds us of our collective responsibility to protect and nurture the next generation. This day is observed annually on November 20th and honors the rights and well-being of children worldwide.
India, Children's Day holds a unique significance. Celebrated on November 14th, the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, it commemorates the visionary leader who championed the cause of India's children. Nehru, affectionately known as "Chacha Nehru", recognized the immense potential of the country's youth and advocated for their education 📚 and well-being ❤️. His legacy continues to inspire generations of Indians.
As we celebrate Children's Day, let's reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive 🌱. Let's work together to ensure children access quality education 📘, healthcare 🏥, and a safe environment 🏡.
By empowering children, we empower the future 🌟. Happy Children's Day! 🎉👧👦

every single republican told us we were overreacting. trump swore he had nothing to do with project 2025 yet continues implementing details outlined in it. not a single person has the right to tell us we’re being dramatic anymore.
hope “cheaper eggs and gas” was worth it.
EDIT: i removed the “trump refused to swear on the bible” point because it was being taken as me being an offended christian. i’m not christian, im agnostic. the reason i included it in the first place is because he’s the first president in history to ever refuse to swear on ANYTHING. meanwhile his “conservative christian” followers had no issue with this, and decided to continue to scramble for excuses instead of admitting he may not be as religious as he claims he is. i figured taking that point out entirely is probably better than filling this with an explanation in the middle of the other important issues.

Being a queer PhD student in STEM in the USA right now is like "the president wants to stop funding for DEI programs, I sure hope that doesn't eventually lead to me losing my job. Oh wait, it's only for people who are employed by the federal government, so I'll still have my job and will be able to get my degree. Oh wait, I work in a public university with grants that largely come from the federal government. Shit."
And 2 seconds later I have to be like "I don't have time to worry about that now. I need to figure out how to interpret this file that visualizes acceptor electron orbitals by energy level in this wide bandgap semiconductor with non-native doping and defect complexes before my meeting on Friday. And I have a test in my Photon Interactions class coming up next week."
Meanwhile my peers are re-writing their NSF grant proposals for the DOE and DOD because now they're blacklisting anything with the word "barrier" in it, even though electron barriers are (unsurprisingly) not at all DEI-related.
