People Are Cool

Generally speaking I don't like interacting with people much, I consider myself incredibly introverted and greatly value time alone or with only specific people.

However...

The community that has grown around the stuff I've been making here lately feels like home, so I just quickly wanted to thank you for existing in this space. Social media is fun again, praise the elder gods.

As a young ish queer, It’s rlly sad that so many young queers don’t know who Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Ramirez, and other trans activists that were key figures and partially led the gay liberation. I saw someone on the clock app ask why the gay and trans community were even grouped together. This whole group of gays(mostly white) who are essentially terfs, don’t understand the privilege they have and don’t know queer history.

It seems like this group is trying to win brownie points from an oppressing group, it’s giving ‘yea I’m gay but I’m not one of those in your face gays *points to gay man with a rainbow boa*’. Or to simplify, internalized homophobia and misogyny. And people will hop on a gay person saying this as a talking point. “Well I know a gay person that says…(insert smth homophobic)” Giving them merit and ammunition among people in their circle who have never spoken to a queer person.

Did we forget that they go after trans rights first, then gay rights? Did we forget these are also fucking people?

This is why queer history has to be taught and normalized because some of y’all’s own internalized homophobia, misogyny, and transphobia makes you say embarrassing things that hurt all of us. Even if you don’t have empathy, at least DONT BE WRONG TOO.

So do it rn. Get a drink, maybe some water, grab a snack, lil treat and Take 10 minutes to type into a search engine ‘queer history’, read a buzz feed article, look up trans/gay activists, read first hand accounts of stonewall, etc.

i will never understand how people have the heart to hate Jason even after they found out that his Ambrosia tastes like fucking sawdust. some good news!! the spanish state's ministry of equality has finally passed one of the most progressive trans laws on the planet, shielded free and universal access to abortion and banned conversion therapy and genital surgery for intersex babies, among a lot of other feminist policies. the minister of equality irene montero gave a speech thanking spain's lgtb and trans associations for helping her draft these legislations. couldn't be more proud!!

Here's my controversial opinion; if you're trying to write Bruce as a non-abusive, good parent, you should also write him respecting his kids' privacy, boundaries, and not stalking&surveying them.

I don't really know what to say. This morning I got the news that six of the hostages were found dead, recently shot. I know the family of one of them, and they are the bravest and most resilient people I know. They gave me, and, well, everyone hope that their son would be back. I fully believed he would. Everyone did. I guess we just expected him to turn up one day at synagogue after all this time.

There are a few thoughts going through my head right now. Most of them start with the word "why", like,

Why did a 23 year old spend 11 out of the 12 months of his 23rd year in a tunnel?

Why do baby-murdering, hostage-taking, house-burning militias live two hours away from my house?

and

Why do I, an 18 year old, fresh out of highschool, know three dead people, ranging in ages from 19 to 32?

Some of them start with the words "what", like

What are they going to do now?

What awful, awful heartbreak am I going to hear about next?

and

What the fuck?
