A Whale of a Good Outfit

I just wore this to work the other day, showing off 2 recent finds I’m excited about.  How can you not love a whale tie, especially when it is accompanied by a whale tie tack.  Both were recent finds, and it must be destiny for them to come together in my wardrobe.

Shirt - I’ve had this grey button-down shirt forever, and I still love it, even though I don’t wear it is much as I used to.  The shirt is JC Penney’s St. John’s Bay brand.

Tie - I just bought this 2 weeks ago at our closest thrift shop, it’s an Endangered Species brand (I also think my otter tie is by them, too).  I love that it features a variety of sea mammal life.  In addition to these 2 animal ties, I have a few bear ties and a crow tie.  I do enjoy a certain type of whimsical tie. 

Tie Tack - I bought this last month at a cute boutique in Denver, Sewn.  Not only does the store have wonderful things to lust for, it also has the best employee ever, Pearl the dog.  I was in Denver for a wedding (of two of the most amazing people ever), and wore the tie tack the day I bought it, at the wedding.  Who knew a few weeks later I’d find the perfect tie to go with it.

Jeans - these are a blue pair my partner found for me at our neighborhood thrift store, they’re the 626 Blue line from Casual Male XL.

Belt - the old stand-by, Levi’s black and brown reversible leather tie, from JC Penney.

Socks - Grey and Black check Gold Toe brand I purchased in a tiny spree when I visited their outlet store last October.

Shoes - Black Born leather loafers with a rust colored trim, found at the local thrift store.

Earrings - the silver hoop is from my partner, and the blue stud earrings were also picked up at Sewn.

Ring - silver with a vine pattern, from Overstock.com.
