-trips and drops my url in here- and given that i have many muses i'd say choose between marguerite, and lucien.
Send me your URL and I'll tell you
My Opinion on;
Character in general: 🎶Marguerite, don't forget I know who you are We were cut from the same surly star, Like two jewels in the sky sharing fire 🎶 I have fond memories of The Scarlet Pimpernel. I remember feeling quite called out as an Englishman while reading it:
"But, tell me, why should your leader--why should you all--spend your money and risk your lives--for it is your lives you risk, Messieurs, when you set foot in France--and all for us French men and women, who are nothing to you?"
"Sport, Madame la Comtesse, sport," asserted Lord Antony, with his jovial, loud and pleasant voice; "we are a nation of sportsmen, you know, and just now it is the fashion to pull the hare from between the teeth of the hound."
"Ah, no, no, not sport only, Monsieur. . .you have a more noble motive, I am sure for the good work you do."
"Faith, Madame, I would like you to find it then. . .as for me, I vow, I love the game, for this is the finest sport I have yet encountered.--Hair-breath escapes. . .the devil's own risks!--Tally ho!--and away we go!"
But the Comtesse shook her head, still incredulously. To her it seemed preposterous that these young men and their great leader, all of them rich, probably wellborn, and young, should for no other motive than sport, run the terrible risks, which she knew they were constantly doing
There are several instances, in all respects of my life, when my only logical path to make sense of myself is the following maxim: I must really love a challenge. Marguerite goes on quite a journey. From one extreme of the specter to the other, passing by the endless in between while dealing with perhaps the first recorded case of a Lois Lane-Clark Kent/Superman situation within her marriage. She is always enjoyable. Always an intriguing high point of the read.
How they play them: Humanly to the extreme. A quality I dote on in all your muses. I think it would be far simpler to take a character described as exceedingly bright and exceedingly charming and mythologize her with a bit of distance. Instead, you always present their hearts as the clear core of their beings and all of your muses are so much better and so much more complex for it. The Mun: She needs to stop making those comparisons involving Tristan or one day he may casually decide to murder one of her muses for the fun of establishing a point (Granted, there would be some muses whose name would be excluded from that lottery.)
Do I:
RP with them: Yes. Marguerite and Tristan share a strange and always fun friendship that makes them sound like characters from Oscar Wilde when they inhabit the same room. Very healthy for Marguerite's survival since the fact that Tristan likes her means she is off limits for his associates. (I still maintain that her immortal title as "the cleverest woman in Europe" is something that would be received with jealousy in more than a few female members of the Strix) Want to RP with them: Yes.
What is my;
Overall Opinion: A wonderful union of character and writer. I remain unconvinced concerning her real chances of persuading Tristan to increase his liking towards dogs.

Over two centuries have passed since his death on 4 May 1799, yet Tipu Sultan’s contested legacy continues to perplex India and her contemporary politics. A fascinating and enigmatic figure in India’s military past, he remains a modern historian’s biggest puzzle as he simultaneously means different things to different people, depending on how one chooses to look at his life and its events.
Tipu’s ascent to power was accidental. His father Haidar Ali was a beneficiary of the benevolence of the Maharaja of Mysore. But in a series of fascinating events, the Machiavellian Haidar ran with the hare and hunted with the hounds; he ended up overthrowing his own benefactor and usurping the throne of Mysore from the Wodeyars in 1761. In a war-scarred life, father and son led Mysore through four momentous battles against the British, termed the Anglo-Mysore Wars. The first two, led by Haidar, brought the English East India Company to its knees. Chasing the enemy to the very gates of Madras, Haidar made the British sign such humiliating terms of treaties that sent shockwaves back in London.
In the hubris of this success, Tipu obtained the kingdom on a platter, unlike his father, who worked up the ranks to achieve glory. In a diabolical war thirst, Tipu launched lethal attacks on Malabar, Mangalore, Travancore, Coorg, and left behind a trail of death, destruction and worse, mass-conversions and the desecration of religious places of worship. While he was an astute administrator and a brave soldier, the strategic tact with opponents and the diplomatic balance that Haidar had sought to maintain with the Hindu majority were both dangerously upset by Tipu’s foolhardiness on matters of faith. The social report card of this eighteenth-century ruler was anything but clean. And yet, one simply cannot deny his position as a renowned military warrior and one of the most powerful rulers of Southern India.
Discover the captivating life of Tipu Sultan in Tipu Sultan: The Saga of Mysore’s Interregnum (1760–1799), set to release in October in India. This new book, meticulously researched by historian Vikram Sampath, explores the complex and controversial legacy of one of India’s most powerful rulers. From his military conquests during the Anglo-Mysore Wars to his influence on Southern Indian history, this book provides an authoritative account of Tipu Sultan’s reign. Perfect for history enthusiasts and scholars alike, this upcoming release promises to be a must-read!

Keep an eye out for the future additions to my AKC All-Breed Series! About the Breed The origins of this ancient breed have been the subject of conjecture for centuries. Even the breed name is a shrouded in mystery. Some experts say it derives from the Gaelic word beag (“little”), while others point to the French term for the sound hounds make while hunting: be’geule. There are reports of small pack-hounds employed to hunt rabbit and hare in England long before the Roman legions arrived in 55 B.C. An English authority called the Beagle the “foothound of our country, indigenous to the soil.” By the 1500s, most English gentlemen had packs of large hounds that tracked deer, and smaller hounds that tracked hares. The smaller, more compact hounds were ancestors of our modern Beagle. The phrase “foot hound” is vital to understanding the Beagle’s broad appeal for hunters in England, the Continent, and North America. Unlike larger pack hunters like foxhounds or Harriers, the Beagle could be hunted on foot—no horse was necessary. Those who couldn’t afford to feed and stable a mount, and ladies and gentlemen too old spend a hard day thundering across the countryside on horseback, could easily keep up with a pack of Beagles on foot. Beagles imports began arriving in America in the years after the Civil War, and their popularity among U.S. rabbit hunters was immediate. The AKC registered its first Beagle, named Blunder, in 1885. To this day, “beaglers” in woodsy areas of North America still swear by their breed’s great nose, musical voice, and enthusiastic approach to rabbit hunting. Breed standard: Size: Beagles come in two sizes: the 13-inch Beagle (no taller than 13 inches at the withers) and the 15-inch Beagle (between 13 and 15 inches at the withers). Head: A Beagle's skull should be fairly long, with a slight dome at the back part of the head. The skull should be relatively broad and full. There should be a distinct separation between the top and bottom of the face when seen from a profile. The ears should reach almost to the end of the nose if drawn out straight, and they should be rounded at the tips. The eyes (hazel or brown) should be large, set far apart, and have a gentle, pleading expression. The muzzle should have a square shape. Body: There should be no wrinkles in the skin around the neck and throat. The shoulders should slope downward into a relatively short back. The dog's chest should be deep and broad but proportionate to the rest of the body. Legs: The Beagle's front legs should be straight, not crooked. The hips and thighs should be strong and muscular. Tail: The tail needs to be fairly high on the rump and carried in a jaunty fashion, but it should not curve over the back. Coat: The coat should be of a medium-length and lie close to the body. The coat should feel hard to the touch. No silky fur here. Color: The standard is vague here, saying only that any recognized hound color is OK. The most common color is the tri-color (black, white, and tan), but it can also be red and white, chocolate tri-color (solid chocolate brown instead of black), and shaded tri-color (varied shades of brown instead of black). So, too, is ticking.Contact Email: IvyFoxIllustration@ gmail(dot)com ———— Tags and other miscellaneous info: ———— Ivy Fox Illustration Ivy Fox dog art Museum of the Dog American Kennel Club Showsight - Where Champions Are Celebrated American Dog Fancier InfoDog Best In Show The Canine Chronicle AKC Gazette best pet portrait artist watercolor fine art unique art Akc meet the breeds Westminster kennel club dog show national dog show crufts grooming intergroom superzoo petquest groom expo dog sports well bred dogs purebred preservation breeders ethical breeders breeder of merit akc grand champion Ch – Champion of Record – earned by gaining 15 points in conformation wins. Dog named for Buddy Holly wins Westminster dog show, a first for its breed
May 9 (Reuters) - A petit basset griffon Vendeen named Buddy Holly won best of show on Tuesday in the 147th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, beating out more than 3,000 dogs from 210 breeds and varieties to claim the most prestigious such U.S. prize.
A six-year-old male from Palm Springs, California, Buddy Holly became the first of his breed to win. The dogs were bred to track hares in the Vendee department of western France.
"I never thought PBGV would do this, Janice Hayes, the dog's co-owner and handler, said after the show. "Buddy Holly is the epitome of the dog show."
Each breed produces a winner, representing the best of what artificial selection can create from the descendants of wolves.
Breed winners are separated into seven groups to determine the best of show finalists: hound, toy, non-sporting, herding, sporting, working and terrier.
Buddy Holly won the hound group.
The prize for reserve best in show, or runner-up, went to the winner of the toy group, a Pekingese named Rummie, from breeder and owner David Fitzpatrick.
Judges examine the dogs up close, placing their hands on the animal, then watch the handlers lead them around the floor, grading them on breed standards for appearance, temperament, size, coat and other characteristics.
The show, which dates to 1877 and has become a mainstay annual television event, was held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in the New York City borough of Queens, site of the U.S. Open tennis tournament.
Traditionally held at Madison Square Garden in Midtown Manhattan, the show was moved upstate to a smaller arena on the expansive grounds of Lyndhurst Mansion during the previous two years because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Zane Roberts with a Pro 250 win, Joe Wasson wraps up 2nd overall, and Mike Witkowski grabs second in XC2!
National Hare & Hound Round 9 Overview:
Location: Lucerne Valley, CA
Beta Factory Race Team Results:
-Beta Support rider Zane Roberts finished out the season with a win after sustaining a broken scapula only a few races prior to the event. Roberts ended the season 11 points behind the Pro 250 leader in 2nd place.
-Joe Wasson also finished out the season on the podium with a 2nd place Overall finish. Wasson battled the entire season for the lead while finishing just 15 points behind the OA leader.
-Chance Fullerton had a great performance at the final round finishing just shy of the Overall podium in 4th place. Fullerton's ability to adapt to the bigger Beta 430 RR Race Edition throughout the season, and his determination, showed in his results as he finished in 4th place Overall.
-Morgan Tanke had some bad luck in the final round resulting in a DNF. However, Tanke had a strong season with one win in the Women's Pro class and five 2nd place podiums resulting in a 2nd place finish for the 2019 National Hare & Hound series.
ZANE ROBERTS
Bike: 250 RR
"I was finally able to get things back on track this weekend at the final round of the National Hare & Hound series. I had some bad luck the past few races, so I was very happy to take a convincing win and end the season on a high note! I can't thank the whole Beta USA crew enough for helping make this a great season, and I'm excited for next year!"
JOE WASSON
Bike: 430 RR
"Round 9 was an awesome race! I knew going into it some miracles were going to have to happen for me to get the championship, but I still had a positive mindset! I got lined up on the start line and when the banner dropped we were off. 44 miles of virgin single track, rocks, and sand washes made for an awesome course. I was running third and made the pass for 2nd in the second loop. I could see the leaders dust, but I would have had to hang it all out there to get the win. It wasn't worth it because I still wouldn't have won the championship seeing how the points leader would have still been second, so I rode a smart race and had a blast!!!"
CHANCE FULLERTON
Bike: 430 RR
"The final round of National Hare & Hound went pretty well! After a horrible start, I charged to the front and ran 4th all day. I just couldn't make it to the lead group, but for my first year on a big bike I'll take it. I ended up only a couple points shy of 3rd in the championship! All in all I'm impressed with my overall riding. I can't wait to see how much more I have to improve. Thank you to everyone for the 2019 series!"
MORGAN TANKE
Bike: 250 RR
"Sunday was a tough day for me. I got off to a good start and was riding well. The course was very rocky and technical which I liked. I passed for second early into the first loop and held it going into loop 2. The technical sections of loop 2 gave me some breathing room between myself and the 3rd place rider and I was feeling good. Unfortunately my good day made a turn for the worse with about a mile to go. My motor seized up and I was dead in my tracks. After pushing my bike through the sand for a bit another racer came to the rescue and towed me to the finish, which unknowingly disqualified me due to a technicality. I'm extremely bummed that it ended up that way, but lucky I still managed a 2nd place in the championship for the team and I. I'm disappointed that my season ended this way, but I'm happy with how my first full season of desert racing went. I'm proud of what I've learned and accomplished and am excited for next year."
GNCC Round 12 Overview:
Location: Beckley, WV
Beta Factory Race Team Results:
-Mike Witkowski battled for the XC2 class lead for most of the day and ended taking home a 2nd place finish. Witkowski is currently in 3rd place for the series points standings 4 points behind 2nd place.
-Rachel Gutish finished just shy of the WXC podium in 4th place and is currently in 9th place for the series points standings.
MIKE WITKOWSKI
Bike: 250 RR
"The Mountaineer GNCC terrain was very rocky and hilly. The week prior I had rode at my local sand track getting my fitness up to par, but I didn't exactly have rocks to practice so I just went at it the best I could with a good mindset toward the race. My Beta 250 RR got off to a great start. I went into the woods in second, but quickly passed for first and tried to check out. Unfortunately, I didn't have all the hot lines picked out and was quickly passed. I sat back and learned from the leader taking in all the good lines. About three laps in, I found myself in contention for the win again. I took a pit stop on lap three and the leader didn't gas, so I had about 30 seconds to make up. I had a really good lap and kept the gap manageable until a lapped rider cleaned me out on a downhill. Ultimately it was a bad lap that caused the leader to break away even more. I settled for 2nd place and 9th overall for the day's end result. I think without that major crash, and a few mistakes, I could have cleaned up and would have been in the hunt for a win. We have one more race at the Ironman GNCC to make it happen!"
RACHEL GUTISH
Bike: 200 RR
"I got off to an excellent start at my last round of GNCC this season. I entered the woods in about fourth place, and by a few miles in had moved up into second. About three miles from the barrels I passed for the lead, and maintained it for several miles before dropping back into second. Lappers are a thing I have always struggled with, and as soon as we got into the thick of them on the third lap, I started to have quite a few problems. I dropped down into fourth place and was unable to make up any of the time I lost. With that being said, this is still the most competitive I have felt at a GNCC since I was injured. I have high hopes for next season! I am also looking forward to the rest of the EnduroCross series, where I am still in contention for the series title."

Year of the Dog - Scottish Deerhound “The Scottish Deerhound's antecedents existed back to a time before recorded history. They would have been kept by the Scots and Picts, and used to help in providing part of their diet, mainly hoofed game. Archaeological evidence likely supports this in the form of Roman pottery from around 1st Century AD found in Argyll which depicts the deerhunt using large rough hounds (these can be viewed at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh). Other similar evidence can be found on standing stones from around the 7th century AD reflecting a hunt using hounds, such as the Hilton of Cadboll Stone. In outward appearance, the Scottish Deerhound is similar to the Greyhound, but larger and more heavily boned. However, Deerhounds have a number of characteristics that set them apart. While not as fast as a Greyhound on a smooth, firm surface, once the going gets rough or heavy they can outrun a Greyhound. The environment in which they worked, the cool, often wet, and hilly Scottish Highland glens, contributed to the larger, rough-coated appearance of the breed. The Deerhound is closely related to the Irish Wolfhound and was the main contributor to the recovery of that breed when it was re-created at the end of the 19th century.
The Deerhound was bred to hunt red deer by “coursing”, and also “deer-stalking” until the end of the 19th century. With modern rifles and smaller deer-forests, slower tracking dogs were preferred to fast and far-running Deerhounds. In coursing deer, a single Deerhound or a pair was brought as close as possible to red deer, then released to run one of them down by speed, which if successful would happen within a few minutes - rarely were there sustained chases.
With the eventual demise of the clan systems in Scotland, these hunting dogs became sporting animals for landowners and the nobility, but were also bred and hunted by common folk when feasible. As fast and silent hunters they made quick work of any game the size of a hare or larger and were highly regarded by nobility and poachers alike. One of the most precarious times in the breed’s history seems to have been towards the end of the nineteenth century, when many of the large Scottish estates were split into small estates for sporting purposes, and few then kept Deerhounds. The new fashion was for stalking and shooting, which required only a tracking dog to follow the wounded animal, using a collie or similar breed. Although a few estates still employed Deerhounds for their original work, the breed was left in the hands of a few enthusiasts who made them a show breed.
In Australia, deerhounds have been used to hunt the kangaroo and wild boar. In addition, according to Teddy Roosevelt in "Hunting the Grisley and Other Sketches", some Canadian and American wolf hunters used them.”

Looney Tunes Home Video Thoughts #8 - Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection: The Character Cassettes - Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester & Tweety (1985)
October 1985 - Warner Bros. Cartoons Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection.
Format: VHS/Betamax
Price: $19.98
Next up in the Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection by catalog are the character cassettes. We will look over the first three.
This is the first time in Looney Tunes home video history that a famous character or duo is highlighted and given their own video release. It would be a practice Warner Bros./Warner Home Video uses on all future videos since 1985 and MGM/UA Home Video would follow the same practice.
This video collection, "character" and "tribute" cassettes, appear to be an answer to Walt Disney Home Video's Cartoon Classics and Limited Gold Edition videos, especially the Limited Golden Edition II collection that came out in May 1985. Golden Jubilee is priced lower at $19.98 compared to $29.95 or $44.95.
The "character" cassettes are packaged in blue. The first is "Bugs Bunny's Wacky Adventures" highlighting eight classic Bugs Bunny cartoons. A consistent performer on Billboard's Top Video Sales charts, and it received the RIAA certified gold video award after 30,000+ units were sold.
Here's Warren N. Lieberfarb, former president of Warner Home Video honoring Bugs Bunny with the award. In December 1985, Bugs became the first and only Warner Bros. cartoon character to receive his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Tumblr media
Here is the front packaging of Bugs holding a carrot, and here are liner notes from film historian, Leonard Maltin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Bugs Bunny's Wacky Adventures" includes "Long-Haired Hare" directed by Chuck Jones where Bugs declares war on opera artist Giovanni Jones for just minding his own business.
"Bunny Hugged" directed by Chuck Jones where Bugs steps into the boxing ring to face against The Crusher.
"The Grey-Hounded Hare" directed by Robert McKimson where Bugs is fooling around at the dog race track.
"Roman-Legion Hare" co-starring Yosemite Sam and directed by Friz Freleng puts both Bugs and Sam in ancient Rome.
"Hare Do" co-starring Elmer Fudd and directed by Friz Freleng where Bugs is being chased into a theater and hilarity ensues.
"Bully for Bugs" directed by Chuck Jones has Bugs as a matador fighting against the Toro in what's considered to be one of the best bullfighting cartoons ever made, and one that proved Eddie Selzer wrong.
"Ali Baba Bunny" co-starring Daffy Duck and directed by Chuck Jones finds Bugs and Daffy take a wrong turn into a cave and they are being chased by Hassan, a guard.
The tape closes with the last of the Hunting Trilogy, "Duck! Rabbit, Duck!" co-starring Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd, and directed by Chuck Jones. This time, it's set in the winter and Bugs just happens to have signs for goat season, dirty skunk season, pigeon season, and even mongoose season.
Overall, "Wacky Adventures" is a great collection showcasing Bugs Bunny in all sorts of different situations/places. And you can see how Chuck, Friz, and McKimson and their writing partners handle the character differently. Even the variety in character dynamics. Excellent video.
Next is "Daffy Duck: The Nuttiness Continues" (another RIAA certified Gold Video Award winner) highlighting eight Daffy Duck cartoons. This includes 2 black-and-white cartoons, 1 of them is time-compressed to make sure they all fit on one 60-minute tape. Here are Leonard's notes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First is another Chuck Jones classic inducted into the National Film Registry, "Duck Amuck", where Daffy is tormented by an unseen animator. It's fun and unpredictable because you don't know what's gonna happen next.
Next, "The Daffy Doc" with Porky Pig, directed by Bob Clampett. One of the early black-and-white cartoons highlighted showcasing Daffy as a screwball against straight man Porky. Lots of hospital antics.
Then, the Jack and the Beanstalk lampoon, "Beanstalk Bunny" with Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, directed by Chuck Jones.
Daffy Duck & Porky Pig parody the Sherlock Holmes/mystery genre in "Deduce You Say" directed by Chuck Jones.
The 1st in Chuck Jones' hunting trilogy with Bugs and Elmer, "Rabbit Fire". Full of clever visual gags, word play, and a twist ending so iconic.
Daffy & Porky also parody the Western movie in this short, "Drip-Along Daffy" directed by Chuck Jones.
Next up is "The Scarlet Pumpernickel" with an all-star Looney Tunes cast directed by Chuck Jones where Daffy pitches to J.L. Warner a script about a swashbuckling adventure film.
Finally, it's Daffy Duck's on-screen debut in "Porky's Duck Hunt" starring Porky Pig and directed by Tex Avery. Definitely an early Tex short as he is laying the ground for what's to come. "Porky's Duck Hunt"'s running time is 8 min. 50 sec. To make it fit on a 60-minute tape, it was sped up and time compressed by 10%, which resulted in the voices and music sped up too. It won't be until 2011 that it was properly restored on The Essential Daffy Duck DVD set.
"Daffy Duck: The Nuttiness Continues" showcases Daffy's best works in the 1950s (MGM/UA owned his 1940s color cartoons at the time) and even some rare late 30s gems. From genre parodies, to his rivalry with Bugs, and the classic "Duck Amuck", this video is perfect for Daffy fans.
The next video is "Sylvester and Tweety's Crazy Capers" highlighting eight cartoons featuring the classic cat and bird team. This includes some cartoons where Sylvester is on his own or paired up with Sylvester Jr. Here are Leonard's liner notes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All cartoons except one of them are directed by Friz Freleng.
The video includes "Tweet and Lovely" One of the later gag based shorts where Sylvester uses different inventions to get past a bulldog guarding Tweety's birdhouse on a pole.
Next is, "Tweety and the Beanstalk" Another Jack and the Beanstalk parody where Tweety appears to be huge, and the giant says Tweety's catchphrase.
"Tree for Two" starring Sylvester in a solo outing with Spike and Chester, directed by Friz Freleng. Crazy stuff happens as a black panther escapes from the zoo.
"The Last Hungry Cat", an Alfred Hitchcock spoof. Sylvester is definitely nervous in this one as it asks, "What would happen if Sylvester finally ate Tweety?"
And with a nice change of pace is the Robert McKimson cartoon "Mouse-Taken Identity", starring Sylvester, Sylvester Jr., and Hippety Hopper. Hijinks ensue within a city museum as that king-sized mouse, a baby kangaroo, hops away from the zoo.
"In Tweety's S.O.S." , Sylvester chases Tweety who is with Granny on a boat cruise.
Then a solo Sylvester outing, "Canned Feud" where he tries to obtain a can opener from a mouse.
Closing the video is "Hyde and Go Tweet" where Tweety jumps into a bottle of Hyde formula and becomes a monster bird scaring Sylvester. A nice twist on the formula.
"Sylvester and Tweety's Crazy Capers" selection is interesting. To make sure there isn't any repetitiveness to the formula, the shorts without Tweety balance them out and allow us to see Sylvester on his own, and the Hippety Hopper short is a nice bonus. (Tweety and the Beanstalk and Tweety's S.O.S. are one of my favorites too). It's still a good tape.
That's the first three "character" tapes in the Golden Jubilee series. The Bugs and Daffy tapes are my favorites, and the Sylvester and Tweety tape serves as an example on how the tapes going forward are structured.

It is imperative to me that the breed’s correct gait be represented completely, and that the dog is drawn to match its breed standard. Don’t see your breed yet? Keep an eye out for the future additions to my AKC All-Breed Series! The origins of this ancient breed have been the subject of conjecture for centuries.
