High Quality Bengals Need Homes!
Hi no one is paying me for this, I am personally just super excited. Anyone who follows me may now be aware I have a wonderful Bengal kitten, Palomita, ten months old:
She has two full sisters who have not found their forever homes yet (one is a marble, which is less popular than the classic rosettes) and I thought I'd share with the tumblr crowd as this sort of thing is mostly stuck on el Face. It's best if you're in Southern California, but I flew to pick Palomita up so.
Tumblr media
If you are in need of ADVENTURES:
This is Sharkey! She is the most outgoing of her litter of SEVEN, ideal for someone who is looking for a high energy companion. Huge loving heart. She MUST have a cat wheel, ideally a catio.
Tumblr media
If you are in need of CUDDLES:
This is Starla! She was returned by her first owner who claimed the cat made them experience brain fog, so Starla's next home should be her last one. She is quiet, sweet, VERY cuddly.
Tumblr media
If you are interested in either kitty, please contact Reanne of Glitterati Bengals over on Facebook, or check out their website.
Reanne is a quality breeder with strong ethics who studied under foundational Bengal breeders. Teachers, civil servants and veterans may qualify for discounts on her wonderful (but not cheap) lap leopards.
If you are interested in Bengals, please do your research before committing to one! Quality Bengal Kittens is a good resource for fantastic info on the breed. They're high energy, love to climb, and super smart, and not usually recommended for a first time cat owner (like yours truly), but if you're ready to put in the work you won't be sorry. Many people with cat dander sensitivities report having less reaction to Bengals--like myself!--Reanne in particular breeds for the least reactive cats possible.

i think what's really irritating about situations where i'm offered random dogs is that having multiple dogs makes people think i'm some sort of charity when it's actually the opposite. my pack is heavily and carefully curated. i know what i want from a dog that is coming into my pack and don't stray from these wants for the good and wellbeing of my existing dogs. the only person i think is acceptable to offer me a dog is a breeder i've been already talking to about potentially getting a dog from already point blank and period. (and even then i've turned down a great offer recently from MY dogs breeder because it just wasn't timed correctly/dog import law bullcrap etc). just because i have made the choice for myself to have multiple dogs does not make me a charity home for dogs people cannot care for anymore. i sincerely feel for dogs in this sort of situation, but malamutes are overall better off going to experienced fosters and breed specific rescues instead of having people blind message people who own the same breed on your facebook timeline. and i don't trust a non-breed specific persons evaluation of temperament at ALL. for a malamute to have success in re-homing you must be knowledgable about the breed or else they're going to end up right back where they started.

Ryan Reynolds saying "Is it Peggles?" In response to trying to guess his movie co stars, and guessed it was Peggy, the dog that was Dogpool will never not be adorable.
The fact that he had to put salmon paste in his mouth for her to stick her tounge into his mouth too is just Ugh- The dedication.
She won 2023's Britans' most "ugliest dog." And that's one of the reasons they picked her.
So for all the people saying "Its so canon that Deadpool would pick the ugliest mutt he could find" YES. He literally did. That's exactly what happened.
Peggy is a crossbreed between a Pug and a Chinese Crested Dog, also known as a Pugese. She was born in 2018 and adopted by Holly Middleton when she was six months old.
Oh god, I love Peggles, but I hope no backyard breeders try to purposly breed more dogs like her for cash like they did with Airbud, 101 dalamtions, and Snowdogs/Balto. The shelters are STILL full of huskys because of that.
6:55 is the scene :)

TW: meat animals, animal processing, animal death.
A part of coming back to Tumblr is so that I have an outlet for my homesteading/home farming projects. Because it’s winter and the midwest, not a whole lot is happening out in the garden, which means its rabbit content time!
Did you know, domestic rabbits actually handle the cold better than the heat? This can make them great alternative meat source on cold-climate homesteads, especially in the winter months! Rabbits are the most efficient small homestead meat source, because you can breed them yourselves, unlike Cornish cross chickens. Other breeds of chicken can be bred and hatched on farm, but yield smaller quantities of meat.
Rabbit manure is also great for your garden, and does not require any other processing to be garden ready, unlike most other manure types.
Pictured is Boris, one of my meat rabbit program herd bucks. His purpose is breeding, and when he is eventually retired (if he is ever retired!) he will be placed in a pet home thanks to his wonderful temperament, or passed on to another homesteader looking for a starter buck.
Reasons for retiring him would include: low rate of gain/production on his offspring, producing genetic ailments, sterility, or if he produces a son that is a significant improvement on his own faults. Boris is still a junior, meaning he is young and still developing. He is also a “mystery mutt”, so it is still up in the air on how he will finish out. Based on his current development, I am excited to see where he finishes at!
In a future post I will share some of the qualities he has that are useful in my herd, and I hope to introduce some of my other production (and show animals) soon!

I need a dog so bad but I grew up in a cat household so I literally only have experience with other people's dogs. Arggh I want a dog so bad but I Don't actually have any cred and I don't want to fuck it up.
I also don't want to get one while I'm in college so its not like I'm getting one anytime soon.

Theres a hilarious hypocrisy I notice of pibble rescue people who clutch their pearls over ear cropping dogs, who also go “awwww!” and absolutely LOVE when they see a big bully with cropped ears. They think they’re so cute. Like maybe they react that way bc of their savior complex and they feel pity for the poooooor “abused” pitty, but they will never admit its also cuz they LIKE the way cropped ears look 😂

I once saw a bernese mountain dog breeder say that flea/heartworm/ect medications DIRECTLY caused hip issues in the breed because it 'isnt natural'
people will go out of their way to blame literally anything on preventatives. seizures? its from the preventative. hip dysplasia? preventatives. dog fell down the stairs and broke its leg? preventatives.
