Scotland's National Day is celebrated today in honour of St. Andrew, patron saint of the country and other nations such as Greece, Romania and Ukraine. Although the apostle never arrived in Scotland, his figure is fundamental in the Scottish identity and is present in the iconic flag of Saltire, which represents the cross on which he was martyred.

Bringing this back for the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine 🇺🇦 & Ukraine's Independence Day 💛💙
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is the 900th day of Ukraine's resistance against full-scale russian aggression. We are still here, and we will get our freedom and peace.
Been meaning to draw these for a very long time, but drawing in general has been a challenge. I'm so happy I finally finished them... Please check my pinned post for links to help Ukraine and Ukrainians like me, if you are willing. Sharing is very appreciated. Thank you..

Russia blew up a ship carrying humanitarian for Palestine.
"The strike, which killed eight people and injured another 11, hit a Panama-flagged civilian vessel and damaged its cargo of aid. It was the third Russian attack against a civilian vessel in four days.
The U.N. had delivered an order for the aid to be sent to Palestine.
"Ukraine, despite the war, supplies products for 400 million people around the world," said Agriculture Minister Vitalii Koval."'
Russia's attacks on civilian shipping from Ukraine aren't just attacks on Ukraine- they're an attack on the entire world, in particular poorer nations who often rely on Ukrainian grain.
But hey, I'm sure the "pro-Palestinian" Tankies who also love Putin and its Iranian allies because they're against "the West" will not be silent about this. Right?
Any time now, guys.

On the night of 1st May 1966, on the eve of Workers' Solidarity Day, the Soviet flag was torn down from the building of the Kyiv Institute of National Economy (now Kyiv National University of Economics) by G. Moskalenko and V. Kuksa.
They replaced it with this flag of Ukraine.

For context to the Ottawa thing, Ottawa City Hall commemerates national/independence days of many countries if they request it (it was in the news in 2022 that they rejected an application by Russia to fly their flag due to the invasion of Ukraine).
This is not to say they are right to or that people should not protest the event, just to clarify that this isn't a new event they've decided to do this year for the first time ever; they raise it every year because this is standard practice here, and unfortunately Canada is, as we know, very close to Israel.
Again, please protest the event.

top 5 flags?
ohhh that's tough . that's so tough don't do this to me. I'm gonna go just on country flags because if it was anything smaller level than that I'd have too many choices
in no specific order:
ukraine is an absolutely reddit country but I like that their flag is based on the landscape (blue=sky, yellow=wheat below said sky) and contrary to popular belief the estonian flag being based on landscape was only made popular by a poet and wasn't actually confirmed to be intentional by any govt involved in regulating the flag
china's is maybe my all time favorite because of the symbolism - the 4 stars represent the social classes (bourgeoise, petit bourgeoise, proletariat, peasantry) and the larger star besides them represents the unity of the chinese people under the communist party, and the classic ML red/yellow is always great
kenya's flag is great I have no critiques. the older presidential standards were fine but genuinely I think kenyas current design is one of the best flags it's simple and memorable and meaningful and the pan african colors (always love pan- flags) are always nice. as far as I remember it's also the only current flag to have a shield used in their flag not as a coat of arms.
the philippine flag is great and I like that they flip it during war I think it's a neat use of the symbolism
mozambiques fucking rules and they don't go over the top with making it too hard to remember or draw, I really really loved the 1975-1983 variant but current day it's still really good. it's also the only national flag with a book on it still used currently

It is the 4th day of 2024
- Epstein’s associate list is catching the world on fire for the elitists and the media is in a tailspin.
- The US is having to literally bomb Iran to try to create a distraction. They apparently have nothing else to offer as a ready made false flag.
- The US Federal debt surpassed $34 trillion and we have a negative GPD. The world outside of the snow globe is avoiding global war and watching the machine lose its economic power.
- Deep blue sanctuary cities are having to lash out at their own party’s Badministration over illegal immigration.
- The black and Latino communities are taking a hard right. Young voters are moving right. Labor unions are moving right. The pendulum is swinging.
- The truth of the 2020 election steal is seeing more light with the release of a 32-page play-by-play on swing state shenanigans.
- The J6 narrative is falling apart and is being shown as a federally organized and perpetrated false flag.
- Jack Smith is failing to, “get Trump,” and may be disqualified as a special prosecutor while the baseless Trump indictments fall apart.
- The machine is so stuck with Dopey Joe as a de facto candidate that it is being forced to prop up deep state marionette Niki Haley, who is currently behind Trump by 55 points in the polls.
- Ukraine is falling apart and Israel is losing its mystique as God’s chosen nation as their ruthless technocracy is exposed.
- The globalist warming climate change narrative is disintegrating as the creeps are forced to hyperbole that is easily seen as ridiculous overstatement.
2024 is four days old. We told you it was going to be a year to remember. So far, so good.

Today, on August 23th, Ukraine celebrates our National Flag Day :) To celebrate the occasion, let me share a few fun facts about our flag 🇺🇦:
The most common symbolic interpretation of the colors is that blue stands for the clear sky and golden-yellow stands for the fields of wheat. This symbolism is important for us as we are largely an agricultural society and have some of the most fertile soil on Earth, making us an important grain exporter since the times of ancient history. There also once was a religious interpretation of the colors, but it didn't stick.
However, the origin of the colors is much more trivial: they come from the heraldic coat of arms of Lviv city, which became the capital of Rus'/Kyivan Rus'/Ruthenia* after Kyiv fell to the Golden Horde (I am oversimplifying for the sake of brevity), thus dating this color combo back to at least 1256). The founder of Lviv, king Danylo of Galicia, is also known to be the first and only Ruthenian* king crowned by the Pope, which was the conventional claim to legitemacy back then. Somehow he managed to achieve that without converting to catolicism nor contributing to the crusades.
There is a neverending popular debate about the proper order of the colors in the flag: blue on top or yellow on top. One of the most popular arguments is the XX century pictures that showcase what seems like a 🇺🇦 flag with yellow on top; however, this misunderstanding largely comes frome the fact that the black-and-white cameras of that time made yellow colors appear darker than blue. Some people also argue that the flag should be flipped over because of feng shui.
During the soviet times, owning a 🇺🇦 flag was a criminal offence that could lead you to up to 2 years of prison time.
In the current russo-ukrainian war the 🇺🇦 remains a symbol of freedom and resistance to russian occupation. During the occupation of Kherson region, people would tie blue and yellow ribbons in public spaces to showcase that they do not yield to ru occupants. Although this act seems small in the grand scale of things, even such resistance was extremely dangerous if caught - owning any ukrainian symbols is a reason enough for russians to accuse you of being a spy and send you to torture basement. The start of the popular movement is attributed to Nisar Akhmad - a ukrainian activist of Afgani origin.
Even before the full-scale invasion, the flag was used as a symbol of resisting russian occupation - back in 2019 on the Constitution Day a 🇺🇦 flag was raised in the center of occupied Donetsk - an act that would, simply put, doom you with a death sentence in the russia-orchestrated terrorist quasi-respublics. The willingness of the people to risk their life for this act of resistance showcases how empty the russian propaganda about ''russian Donbas'' really is. Donetsk waits for ukrainian liberation to this day.
One of the most worldwide famous ukrainian pictures, Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks by Ilja Repin is full of ukrainian sybolism and "easter eggs"; including the ukrainian flag sneaked into the picture - you can see it in the top left quarter on one of the spears. This is historically accurate, as Zaporozhian Cossacks would often don the blue-and-yellow colors when going into battle. The picture itself is full of symbolism and political commentary, and, frankly said, deserves a full post of its own - but to put it short, Ilya Repin, who is often presented as a ''russian artist'' by russians, is actually a descendant of ukrainian cossacks, and has modeled all of the people on the picture on important Ukrainian political figers. And the picture itself was written in response to the Ems Decree - the law that banned ukrainian language from public use in the cultural sphere. If you haven't yet experienced the dramatic reading of the letter in question, narrated by one and only Peter Capaldi, please treat yourself and watch it today.
*Rus' (Русь) is the name of the medieval country in the Eastern Europe that was vaguely centered around the territory of modern Ukraine. If you are confused about the name and how is Rus' different from russia - this confusion is intentional. The chiefdom of muscowy, which was founded at least 400 years after the foundation of Kyivan Rus' and was the vassal of the Golden Horde for the most part, has appropriated the name (''Ρωσία'' is just a greek version of ''rus'') to falsify the inheritance of the high crown of Kyiv, which in actuality has gone to the western branch of the bloodline through Danylo of Galych to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (once again, oversimplifying very long and complex history for the sake of brevity). muscovies haven't been using the term ''russia'' to describe themselves before the 15th century, and all the earlier mentions of this term chronicled by foreign sources (e.g., the Byzantine empire) refer to the Kyivan Rus'.

I feel like a complete asshole for saying this. But I wanna say it.
I feel like on these past few years, the internet has been focused on justice for horrible things happening everywhere. The war in Ukraine, the earthquake in turkey/Syria, the women’s rights situation in Iran, the ethnic cleansing in Palestine.
And I feel like every single time Armenia is left out of it. For so long we’ve been attacked. We lost Artsakh after almost a YEAR of the civilians being literally starved by Azerbaijan. And no one said a fucking word.
And it’s like no matter how many people I tell, no matter how many posts I make, no matter how many protests I go to, nobody cares about Armenia.
I learned about ethnic cleansing and genocide before I could multiply. I knew there were entire nations of people who wanted nothing more than to see my entire people wiped out before I knew what a cell was. I go to sleep most nights worrying about my family, terrified that I’ll wake up the next day and find that my country doesn’t exist anymore.
And nobody even cares enough to make a post.
The extent of most peoples knowledge about conflicts in Armenia is “well there was a genocide and then everything was okay again.” If they even know Armenia exists at all.
It’s just. When will it be Armenia’s turn? When will I start seeing people post about Armenia everywhere? When will I see the Armenian flag on lawns and profile pictures and bumper stickers, in solidarity with us? When will Turkey and Azerbaijan be called out for their disgusting actions?
Did you know that the Armenian genocide is the first to be described as a genocide? Did you know that Hitler mentioned Armenia by name? He mentioned us in one of his speeches, describing why the holocaust would work, why he would not be punished.
He said, “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?”
No one. And their silence is deadly.

Conspiracy theorists are asking questions about the terrorist attacks on New Year's Day. There are connections between the two alleged terrorists with both stationed at the same military base. They used the same app to rent the vehicles used in their attacks.
But there are distinct differences as well, especially as it pertains to early indications of motives. Matt Livelsberger, suspect in Las Vegas, appears to have been aligned with Ukraine while Shamsud Din Jabbar. suspect in New Orleans, was aligned with ISIS and said online he was wanting to send a message to "non-believers" of Allah.
In the last 24-hours I've done my own digging into the attacks and the attackers and while I haven't come to any conclusions, two things stick out. First, the FBI handling of these attacks is conspicuously divisive in ways we haven't seen before. They don't appear to be in cover-up mode, but they also continue to disseminate inexplicable "definitive" information. The most glaring was the early declaration that New Orleans wasn't a terrorist attack even AFTER they knew he had an ISIS flag and IEDs in his truck. This tells me they're in the process of narrative-building which is far worse than a cover-up. With a cover-up they'd be engaged in hiding information. With narrative-building, there's a darker purpose to every bit of information they release.
Second, it feels like we're being herded into a national state of fear. On legacy media, we continue to hear about how there are hundreds, thousands, or more terrorists and cells operating in the United States. While I'm not dismissing this as a likelihood I'm concerned with the way this is being propagated. Government officials, law enforcement, and legacy media "experts" are singing the same tune and that's worrisome.

My next post in support of Ukraine is:
Next site, is another day. It's August 23, 2024, in Ukraine right now, which is the Day of the National Flag in Ukraine. It's a flag with beautiful symbolism of the Ukrainian fields of grain covered by the blue Ukrainian skies. It has been celebrated on August 23 since 2004. The first historically verified use of the beautiful yellow and blue flag dates from 1848 when it was raised over the Lviv Townhall, which was known as Lemberg at that time & was the capital of Galicia & was part of the Austrian Empire. The modern flag was adopted as the official national flag of Ukraine in 1992.
