it occurs to me I've actually never done anything to introduce my courier despite posting about him 400 times I just kinda made everyone witness him so here's some basic stuff + his lore under the cut (long and probably very boring post incoming)
chester was born in Utah and lived there til he was almost a teenager when the Legion swept through his village and took him as a slave. his parents were much older, and were killed, and his other family (older brother) had left for California some months prior, leaving chester the sole support of his family. he does not remember his birth/original name
chester had some decent experience (for an 11 year old) of fixing machines because his father collected pre-war cars and motors and sold them and their parts for a living and so was sent downriver to Arizona to serve as a repairman and technician. while Legion property he was given the name Chiron
Chester lived in Arizona with the legion until he was 20 years old, hating every minute. a boy around his age by the name of Attilius was charged with keeping watch over him and bringing him new projects, and during the duration of their time together had developed a rapport over Roman poetry and literature, the only thing they could stand to talk to each other about.
Attilius was watching over him when Chester staged his escape and made it out. the two fought with Chester emerging victorious, believing he had killed Attilius, and escaping despite some severe injuries, including a spinal cord injury that ended up giving him brain damage, causing him to live with hallucinations, seizures, and worsening eyesight from this point on
Chester escaped via the Colorado River and came out on the other side in Nevada. he started wandering aimlessly, ignoring his injuries until he began becoming faint and passed out in a toppled semi truck and was discovered by some well intentioned folks that were traveling up the way to Vegas. they got him medical help before leaving him in Primm, at which point he took up a job as a courier with the Mojave Express at age 21, taking on a new name which he now cannot remember.
the freedom of being a courier was something Chester lived for. every day was a good day, he could go anywhere, meet lots of people, and got paid pretty good for his efforts. he was, and I cannot stress enough, perfectly and utterly happy with his simple mailman life, and misses it every sinnggglllee day during the game events. this continued on for ten happy years, in which time he learns that his older brother, Tomás, has become a trooper with the NCR. he avoids reaching out for some years after the discovery, wary of what his brother would think of him for his years in the Legion (even if it wasn't his choice.) when he does reach out, the only thing he receives in return is his brother's dog tags, learning he was killed in the battle of hoover dam 😀👍
the day after his 31st birthday is when he took the platinum chip job and ended up in a shallow grave in Goodsprings. after his brief coma and stay in the doctors house, and picking a new name again (Chester) and after resolving tensions with the Powder Gangers, he immediately cut a path to Vegas on the hunt for Benny. at first, he wanted revenge, but the anger turned to confusion, turned to helplessness. on his way through quarry junction, he was attacked by an injured deathclaw that had been abandoned by the rest of its pack, and recieved the scratches that blinded one of his eyes
after the attack, he managed to run as far as the NCR sharecroppers outside of the Strip before he collapsed and crawled his way to Freeside, where he was discovered by an unsuspecting Arcade, who took him in with haste and stitched him back together. the following day when Chester finally woke, Arcade gave him a full examination and decided it was medically unsafe for him to be alone and decided to follow him to keep an eye on him, though the two get a lot closer over the game events. Arcade also decided it'll be easiest if they make their way back to Primm and start the investigation from where it all began, rather than trying to break into an expensive, well armed luxury district and demand answers from a complete stranger. Chester agrees.
Chester has questionable memory of his past. he more or less remembers being a courier, in fact it's the period of time he remembers best (in comparison) about his life and kind of sensationalizes it and how badly he wants to return to that stage of his life, but the future marches ever onward. he doesn't remember any part of his life before the age of 15, and therefore only remembers he was part of the Legion and not the circumstances as to why. he avoids and detests them, scared that he's forgetting something awful about who he was and what he did, and keeping the information close to his chest. he remembers being Chiron, and doesn't know the limitations of his Chiron persona, and therefore has been renaming himself and reinventing himself every chance he gets (this is made worse by the fact that he remembers "killing" Attilius and fears that it proves he was as evil as the rest of them)
after the game, and because he had formed a strong relationship with Arcade, he elects to join the Followers of the Apocalypse, offering to help find and restore medical supplies across the desert. this arrangement lasts for about a year and a half until the events of Dead Money take place, and chester has a severe downward spiral upon returning home. he gives all his money from the Sierra Madre away immediately, tried to keep the severity of how bad he was doing mentally under wraps so as to not draw any concerns or questions from his friends but ended up breaking down and having a less than stellar confrontation with Arcade involving holding him at gunpoint (I must stress he was not in his right mind!)
after that they grew distant for a few months when Chester was back to patient status amongst the Followers, skirting around camp, talking mostly to some of the better suited doctors about what he was going through, before him and Arcade inevitably made up! and the rest is happily ever after. kind of
other misc things:
• chester playlist
• favorite wasteland animal: bighorner
• favorite radio song: johnny guitar - peggy lee
• lives in Novac and in Freeside
• closest relationship with Arcade, but also with Lily, Julie Farkas, and a decent partnership with Boone, though he gets along better with Manny and talks to him more often when in Novac
• he doesn't remember the dog tags he wears are his brother's, but he keeps them on because he feels like it might be important. I think he rediscovers this fact when he revisits Utah much later in life
• he hates wearing his glasses and pretty much only does so when Arcade or Julie insists he must (and insist they do)
• Attilius did not die in their fight, he was found unconscious and badly wounded and was punished by having his tongue cut out (with the claim that having those talks with Chester made him too weak to do his job.) the two met again during the second battle and he was killed in combat
• he develops a fondness and eventual passion for energy weapons after visiting the Silver Rush with Arcade and taking an interest in why he likes them so
• never returns to the Lucky 38 after the events of the story, so that casino is just rotting eternally. would ideally give the property to anyone who needs it but doesn't know who needs it to begin with
• low intelligence high science and medicine because of how invested he gets in learning from Julie and Arcade, and medicine in particular he finds passion in when speaking to Lily and examining her condition
• high perception because of paranoid hypervigilance
• clothes were given to him by The Followers after he showed up post-deathclaw attack, originally had a denim jacket but it was ruined in the conflict

between the earth and sky (lover, share your road - prologue) series masterlist | AO3 Link | part i
chapter rating: T (series: E)
word count: 1.1K
chapter summary: how Joel Miller's forefathers came to settle the southern plains
chapter warnings/tags: references to genocide (human and animal), racism
a/n: Miller County was a real place!
Vincente Ramón Morelos with his wife María Guadalupe Rodríguez Saldaña went in search of a better life in 1848.
Exhausted from the bloody revolution against Spain, then the devastating loss at the hands of white “rebels”, the childless couple leave the southern hill country by the San Antonio river to go north, to find peace, in a place that the Anglos have never touched — so promised Señor De La Cruz, a former comandante like Vincente, who shared his dream of wide, open spaces, and a sky that stretches into infinite possibilities.
This land they marched across, with its barren trees and flat golden spreads, is nothing like anything they’ve ever seen before. The wagon chain the Morelos follow whispered in hushed, awed tones. María reached out the side of the wagon, letting her hand brush against brown thistles, watching how the reed springs under her fingers, how it tickles her palm. She never knew the earth could be so soft – teasing her with some great secret it’s eager to share. She looked to her husband and he glowed beneath the rich blue sky and bronze sun. Maybe this was God showing her how to fall in love with a new home.
Towns became few and far between. In a transitory cattle town, Vincente listens to two vaqueros tell stories over a loose game of poker about a briefly-disputed patch of land, five hundred miles east, one that exchanged ownership three times before disappearing into obscurity. But a single name settled permanently, before its township ever could: Miller County. Vincente quietly related to that blurring of identity, a loss of a permanent place to be known and loved, so when going through towns of white Texan Anglos that distrusted his olive skin and aquiline nose, he told them his name was Vincent Miller and he was, like all others, looking for a place to call home. He found it north of what would become Amarillo, and south of what would be Dalhart, between the Canadian and Red River, rivers that never seemed as endless and deep as the Gulf from his childhood.
By the spring of 1852, Mary (formerly María) and Vincent, established on their acre of land, had welcomed two girls and were expecting a third child, who ended up being a boy. This boy was given the name John (though his mother called him Juan at home) Tomás Miller, after Mary’s grandfather. As a boy, John learned from his father Vincent to listen and trust the Kiowa, the Comanche, the Gods of the Grass Sea, who were said to have been born with a heart of a buffalo. Who walked with prairie chickens and raced the pronghorn antelopes. Recognizing a kinship with nomadic blood of the Millers – once Morelos – the Comanche taught them what it meant to use the land as one uses a brother for support. Use in kind, but treat just as kindly. Avoiding what the Anglos referred to as “dry farming” because it was only the Anglos who believed, by sheer force of will, they could make rain come down from the sky. The Comanche were shocked by their arrogance. As he grew older and stronger beneath that heavy sunshine that had endeared his mother to these foreign lands, John maintained his father’s relationship with The First People, even aiding them in keeping the encroaching Anglo homesteaders off the lands of the buffalo and the blue grama grass.
When John married in the summer of 1885 a woman whose skin burnt easy in the sun, but had hands rougher than a sailor’s, Vincent was surprisingly happy for his son, because Jennie Sarah Hansen was quick-witted, brave, and possessed a rare quality when it came to the regards of the Tejanos and The First People – compassion. Disowned by her own family for such a trait, Jennie came to live with John, his father Vincent, his mother Mary, with letters from John’s two sisters and their families coming from down south every month.
Joel Ramón Miller was born in the late fall of 1891, followed shortly there by his brother, Tom – Tommy, because Tom was too serious for a boy with a smile like that – and the lineage of working under blue skies in endless dunes of buffalo grass was passed down, third generation of Vincent, who lived to see his oldest grandson turn five before quietly, with dignity, leaving this world in his sleep.
Tommy Miller continued to look towards the sun and, as a young man, followed it west. But Joel, like his father, like his grandfather, like the land itself, kept watch over the ones he loved from the porch of that a-frame house, the one his father built for his mother. For a time that included a woman with dark skin and darker eyes out of Alabama. And then it was just the baby who came from her, who came from him. Sarah, named after his mother who was as fierce and resilient as the buffalo grass and as beautiful as the endless sky.
As far as Joel Miller was concerned that was enough. The two of them – him and his babygirl, with the plums and the maize, and the secrets of this wide wilderness handed down in partnership from the Comanche and the Kiowa, because the Millers knew what to keep and what wasn’t theirs, or anyone’s, to own.
Until the day came when the buffalo were slaughtered by the thousands, and the once great Gods of the Grass Sea were felled, both driven to extinction by a force that held no compassion or concern for the lands it swallowed.
The cowboys over in the XIT, runners of cattle in the land that used to tremble beneath the hooves of thousands of buffalo, started to complain first. Rumbled that no good was to come of any of it; the American government gave too freely; real estate agents and land developers promised too much. Those arriving in the prairie came only for the green that the wheat boom offered, and had misjudged the quietness of the plains for emptiness.
Joel Miller watched as towns bloomed overnight, model E’s rumbled off the new railway lines, and nesters and sodbusters burrowed into their dugouts like wolf-spiders — at the cost of the beautiful, bellowing sea of grass. The bison were long dead, the Kiowa and Comanche now ghosts between the stalks of blue grama, and a wind was coming in from the north.
It whispered to those who could still listen and would heed its warnings.
And Joel Miller, with his only daughter, listened and waited and didn’t like what he heard. First, the drought came. Lasted ten years. Then the economic freefall that blew out entire financial systems on a global scale.
And then, like a ghoulish nightmare, a specter of death that came from the ill-resting spirits of the bison, came the dust storms.
The air crackled with electricity, car radios clicked off, overwhelmed by the static. Ignitions shorted out. Waves of sand swept over the roads. Children were lost and found thirty feet from their back doors, dead, suffocated on dust. Five thousand feet tall, wider than entire cities, this was blind vengeance, a reckoning well-deserved.
And for the first time in his life, Joel Miller was afraid.

Time for more Seperated Leo Human AU! (I really need a name good lord-)
As promised, we now get to look into Leon's lore! He's a funky little guy, and shockingly well adjusted!
Lore drop under the cut!
His full name is Leonardo Tomás Esposito, and he is quite proud of it! He picked it out himself when he was about 10 years old, and he's happy to say that he still loves it to this day! (Fun fact: all of the names have double meanings to them hehe)
But anyways, his Mamà is in fact, NOT Big Mama (but it was a solid guess!), her name is actually Mia Esposito! (+10 Fandom points to anyone who can guess her full first name) She is a full time nurse and used to travel around the several NYC hospitals as an on-call nurse, but once Leon was born she stuck her roots down to one and has been there ever since!
She's actually an incredibly interesting character (with her very own arc!) with a lot of depth and meaning. She grew up with her Puerto Rican mother and Italian father, but after a series of misfortunes and despair, she ended up immigrating to NYC to start a new life for herself. About 10 years later she began raising a baby all on her own as a single immigrant mother in New York City (Sound familiar?). Whenever Leon asks about his father she tells him that she doesn't remember his Papá, only that he had the same almond-shaped brown eyes as her baby boy....
But ultimately she doesn't remember him hahaha maybe Leon should stop asking questions and get back to studying!
(Leon knows that she's hiding something, but ultimately he doesn't care about his father that much, he just assumes that he did something to hurt his Mamá and wants nothing to do with the man at all)
Leon and his Mamá are very close, they're very similar to Percy and Sally Jackson from the PJO series, and they would definitely fight God for each other.
Leon was raised very much with the mentality of "It takes a village" and has many aunts and uncles and relatives in the hospital staff that he considers family. Mia couldn't really afford childcare as Leon grew up, as it often came down to food or rent for the month. The hospital staff saw this and absolutely adored little baby Esposito, so they were more than happy to raise him alongside their own children. Mia owes her life to this staff and considers them her family through and through.
As he grew up, Leon saw all his favorite people as nurses and doctors and considered each and every one of them heros. He decided very early on that he wanted to be a doctor when he grew up, and after a terrible injury when he was 14 it cemented the fact that he wanted to be a pediatric surgeon, to help kids just like him.
But the issue is, Leon and Mia definitely do not have enough to cover medical school for Leon on a single nurse's income, even with all the jobs that Mia and Leon have taken over the years. That's why Leon NEEDS the athletic and valedictorian scholarship, without it he won't be able to achieve his dream. The only thing standing in his way is.....
THE HAMATOS
(Except Michael, he's a gift)
Leon is willing to do ANYTHING to get those scholarships, but his Mamá always reminds him that the Hamatos might need it just as badly as he does, and that's about all that's keeping him from REALLY doing anything to hurt/sabotage them. His Mamá has instilled a really strict moral code into his psyche and he won't actually do anything to them, he just....really wants to give his Mamá a better life, one she deserves.
Although, he is kinda curious as to why the Hamato brothers have the same eyes as him......
First // Previous // Next
Whew! That was pretty much just a really intense ramble, sorry there was no actual structure to that, I just really wanted to talk about my Leon lore! Props to anyone who figures out the significance of all the names, and to clear up any confusion, Mia is Half Puerto Rican, half Italian, and Leon is 1/4 Puerto Rican, 1/4 Italian, and 1/2 Japanese (but shhh he doesn't know that yet) and obviously he's got that amazing vitiligo (shout out to anyone and everyone with vitiligo, y'all are amazing and beautiful)
Thanks for reading my lore dump, see ya next time for..... huh idk yet, vote ig
See ya next time!

Amada Madrigal
Inspired by @hannahhook7744's Encanto AU, and her own character headcanons.
Third image made using https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/1558575
Fourth image made using https://www.dolldivine.com/la-colombiana
Fifth image made in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Amada’s full name is Amada Rafaela Guzmán-Madrigal.
Her first name means “beloved” and her middle name means “heal”.
She is the fifth child of Dolores Madrigal and Mariano Guzmán.
She has her father’s lighter skin tone and straight hair. She has Dolores’ facial shape and ears. Her hair is lighter than her parents, probably from Pepa. She also has Pepa’s teeth. She looks almost identical to Avila, but is slightly shorter, and has slightly lighter skin.
She is eleven years old.
She has an older sister by eight years, Leta, an older brother by three years, Andrés, an older brother by two years, Carlos, and an older twin sister by thirty seconds, Avila.
She is currently uninterested in romance or sex.
Her gift is water manipulation. She can control and breathe underwater, but can’t conjure it. She loves her gift, and likes to blast people with water for fun.
Her door portrays her smiling with her arms in the air. Small water droplets fall around her, with one large bubble of water hovering above her head.
Her room resembles the nursery, with pale blue walls and wooden floors. The front part of her room is normal for visitors, but the rest of it is completely underwater. Her bed and other amenities are floating in the water, all anchored to the floor with ropes. There’s another rope on her bed she ties herself to so she doesn’t float off in her sleep.
His symbol is a water drop.
She and Dolores get along alright, but she is much more active and loud than her mother. They do share a love of bows, and Amada always wears a hair bow in her honor.
Both twins are Mariano’s pride and joy. They are his babies, and can do no wrong.
Leta is a horribly great influence on both twins. They often act as her sidekicks when she does stunts.
Andrés is the sibling they go to when they’re upset or scared. He always has comforting words for them.
Carlos gives the twins free stuff from his store, and encourages their wild antics.
She mainly hangs out with the other younger kids, Mariana, Tomás, Rómulo, Zoe, José, Héctor. She also spends time with Princesa.
She gets along best with Pepa, Isabela, and Tomás.
She’s more girly than her twin. She’ll go to Princesa to get her hair done, and cares a lot about clothes.
Unsurprisingly, she likes to swim. She spends more time in the rivers and canals around the Encanto than outside of them.
She plays the piano, but isn’t as good as her cousins. Even so, she, José, Beatriz, and a few others have a ‘band’ of sorts.
She got her ears pierced when she turned ten, and almost caused a flood in the Encanto with how freaked out she was. In the end it didn’t even hurt all that much.
She and Avila like to consider themselves like the ‘younger’ versions of Amelia and Sofía.
Her favorite colors are light blue, navy, turquoise, and light yellow.

So last year, Disney's Wish was supposed to be a celebration of Disney's 100th year anniversary, and everybody was hyped up. Sadly, when it finally got released, people were very, and I mean very, disappointed with it. Yes, Wish has its flaws, and some parts felt rushed undet it's 80 to 90 minute running time, but for me personally, I thought it was good and it could've been better. For everyone else, it was a disappointment.
Then, people keep saying that they were robbed because of two concept arts that have been breaking the internet for over a year. One of them is the idea of a romantic plot of Asha and Starboy, a humanized version of the Star from the original movie (unaware that the humanized star is actually the younger version of Asha's Grandfather and the idea of them having a romance is gross, plus it's questionable because Stars are thousands and thousands of years old). The other is King Magnifico and Queen Amaya as a villain power couple. While those two sound like nice ideas, but in reality, they don't add anything new to it or could make it even more convoluted that it already is. Nevertheless, those two concept art ideas have been the main focus on everybody's Wish rewrite fanfic.
So, if I ever wanted to do a Wish rewrite fanfic, the first thing I do is change the main hero and villain.
ARMAAN:
Armaan is a starry-eyed and optimistic 11-year-old boy from the kingdom of Rosas. He’s energetic and passionate, sometimes rushing into a situation without thinking about it first. Although he considers himself a fish out of water because he has lived in Rosas for almost a year, he’s brave and hopeful and always puts a positive spin on any situation. He deeply loves and cares for his family and friends, especially his paternal grandfather, Sabino.
Armaan was born in a small region in North Africa to a philosopher from Rosas named Tomás and a seamstress named Sakina. Growing up, Armaan would hear his father lecture him about the stars and their connection to all living things. He would also spend time reading books, drawing, and building things. When he was nine years old, his father passed away from an unknown disease. Soon after his father’s death, Armaan and Sakina moved to the Kingdom of Rosas, where they now live with Sabino. He then made friends with seven kids named Ruth (10), Marri (16), Simon (15), Hal (10), Safi (11), Bazeema (12), and Dario (10).
At first, he had a high opinion of Princess Celeste like everybody else in Rosas, but he is rather curious about how she has the power to grant wishes and how the people of Rosas have great admiration towards her. He entered a contest to meet Princess Celeste for only one day on her 18th birthday. He saw this because of Sabino’s wish to inspire people with his music, and his grandfather’s 100th birthday is also on the same day as Celeste’s 18th birthday/wishing ceremony. Armaan won, much to his excitement.
The hangout with Princess Celeste started great in a little brother/big sister way. Then Celeste takes Armaan to her chambers, where she shows him the collection of all the wishes from the people of Rosas. When Armaan saw Sabino’s wish, he asked Celeste to grant it. But she rejected his plea. Celeste also revealed a dark secret to him. She erased everybody’s memories of the citizens’ wishes, rendering them devoid of any ambition and making them rely on her and adore her, which causes tensions between her and Armaan, which escalates into Celeste passing on Sabino’s wish.
Later that night, Armaan feels like he disappointed Sabino on his 100th birthday. Sabino then comes in to cheer him up and shows him to a wishing tree he and Tomás used to go to and says that sometimes wishing on a star can inspire him not to give up hope, something that he gave to Tomás when he was young. Soon, Armaan takes his grandfather’s advice and makes a desperate wish upon a star, hoping everyone in Rosas can make their wishes come true.
His wish is highly tremendous and pure, and he is granted the star itself, which takes on the form of an anthropomorphic ball of light whose name will be called Star. This will lead Armaan on a noble adventure to free all the wishes from Celeste’s wicked clutches.
So, I wanted to make Armaan’s relationship with Sabino as the emotional core as well making Sabino show him the wishing tree just like how he showed his father before him (it's taken from a deleted scene). Based on a friend's suggestion, I would have Armaan be more curious about Princess Celeste, her power to grant wishes, and the people of Rosas' greater admiration towards her, making Celeste’s villainous reveal more shocking. I based Armaan’s character design off of Ravi Cabot-Conyers (my ideal voice actor for him), Mickey Mouse from "The Sorceror's Apprentice" segment from Fantasia, Pinocchio, and Aladdin. There's also a little bit of Antonio from Encanto.
PRINCESS CELESTE:
Princess Celeste is the most beautiful, charismatic, and beloved 18-year-old princess of Rosas and the only daughter of Queen Amaya. From the day she was born, she was enchanted to be attractive, sing beautifully, and be beloved by all, but she was born with magical powers. As the princess grows up, she's been learning and mastering all kinds of magic and sorcery and studying astrology and alchemy. But her one extraordinary magic power is that she can grant the wishes of her subjects. She has that ability because, unbeknownst to everyone, including herself, Celeste is born a half-human/half-star hybrid. She considers her magic superior to all others to the point where she lets the power go to her head, leading her to develop a giant, vain, self-absorbed ego.
One day, people forget what they want or desire. Then, on her 15th birthday, Princess Celeste declares that she will be willing to help her people by announcing a ceremonial event where she'll grant only one wish every year on her birthday.
Unbeknownst to the people, including her mother, Celeste is wicked, selfish, devious, callous, narcissistic, and sociopathic. She cast a powerful and dangerous spell that will steal the memories of her people’s wishes and keep them sealed and locked away in her study room forever. Celeste can only grant wishes that would benefit her and keep the rest locked up, especially those that she deems a threat to her. She created the wish-granting ceremony every year on her birthday to maintain her power, beauty, and influence and have people feed her ego. She learned that spell from a book containing forbidden magic, which she uses as a contingency in case something threatens her power.
Despite her potent magic and enchanting appearance, Princess Celeste harbors an intense jealousy and resentment towards her mother, Queen Amaya, who is more humble and caring to the people of Rosas, leaving Celeste to feel overshadowed by her and will do anything to make herself the center of attention.
On her 18th birthday, she can only invite one person to spend one day with her so she can grant one special wish for the winner. When an 11-year-old boy named Armaan was declared the winner, things went wonderfully in a little brother/big sister way. Then she showed him the millions of wishes in her study room. Armaan discovers his grandfather's wish to inspire people to play the guitar. Once he tells her about her grandfather's wish, she assumes that it might be dangerous, although Sabino is mainly kind and harmless.
Then Armaan starts questioning why Celeste only grants one wish while many others will never for another year instead of being given back so the people who initially wished them could achieve them themselves. Celeste tells him that they can't do it on their own because it's unachievable, and they come to her because she's the only one who can grant the wishes to come true, so they don't have to worry about doing it on their own. Armaan is shocked and surprised by how she did it so people would forget the best memories about themselves, with an enraged Celeste declaring that she's the only one who decides what the people deserve. So, she refused to grant Sabino's wish at the wishing ceremony, leaving Armaan crushed and heartbroken.
Later that night, Armaan wished on a star for help, and the star, revealed to be a little, exciting, boundless ball of energy, answered. Celeste saw the light it caused and believed that someone had threatened her power. All this would lead to the events of her downward spiral, building up to her inevitable defeat.
My idea for Princess Celeste is to create an evil Disney Princess, which is something that Disney has never done before, so having a Disney Princess be the main villain sounds more refreshing. Plus, it would make more sense for her to grant only one wish a year every year on her birthday so she can have the people of Rosas feed her ego. I based Princess Celeste's character design off of Chloë Grace Moretz (my ideal voice actor for her), Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, and King Magnifico. Some of her character was inspired by Princess Fiorimonde from the fairy tale "The Necklace of Princess Fiorimonde" and it's a very awesome read. You guys really need to check it out.
More ideas of my Wish rewrite will be coming soon.

This is part one of a two-shot and that’s basically all I know about it. I went into a plot-fueled haze and when I came back to reality I had written this. Enjoy.
Featuring: historical whump, whumper turned whumpee (kind of), held at swordpoint, betrayal, mark of shame, under arrest, pillory, blood, hatred, mentions of execution, stoning, spitting- this isn’t a fun dark comedy piece this is just angst and violence. You know, other kinds of fun!
——————————————————————————
Traitor, Part 1
All he could think was How could this happen to me?
The governor’s son had always seemed like such a wonderful thing to be. Mateo Rivera had never wanted for anything. The entire town respected and feared his family. He had been raised like a prince, with the world at his fingertips.
And it had all fallen down under his feet.
Across the square, several villagers held his parents under arrest. Governor Rivera’s fine scarlet coat, the one he was so proud of, the first thing he had bought when he had become governor, was ruined, the hem ripped and one sleeve nearly torn off. Mateo’s mother Antonia clung to her husband’s arm, her silk skirts dirty and bedraggled.
And Mateo lay in the dust at a stranger’s feet, with the tip of a sword at his throat.
His own sword had landed only a few inches away, but he didn’t make a move for it. He stared up at the man with the sword, the midday sun making him squint.
Mateo remembered him, if only distantly. He didn’t remember the stranger’s name, but he remembered the vicious duel years ago between Governor Rivera and the stranger’s father- a swordfight that the governor had won.
The tables had turned now. Mateo had given it his all, tried his hardest to defeat the newcomer, and he had failed. He had lost.
The townspeople not holding his parents captive stood in a loose, broken ring around the town square, dressed in their festival clothes and what little jewelry they still owned. It had been a festival shortly before, a feast to celebrate Mateo’s birthday. He still wore the beautiful medallion he’d been presented with. He’d danced with Fidelia, and announced his intention to marry her. Everything had been perfect.
And then this stranger had entered, without telling anyone his name, and had stolen her away. Not stolen her- she’d gone willingly, rejecting Mateo for the arms of this unfamiliar man. He’d been angry, and had knocked the stranger’s hat off, revealing his face.
The stranger was the boy his father had exiled to the desert, grown into a man and back from the dead to reclaim the town. He’d fought Governor Rivera first. Mateo’s father was a skilled swordsman, but he was getting old, and he’d been knocked to the ground and divested of his sword. The village women had turned on his mother, dragging both his parents to the edge of the town square and binding them.
So Mateo had challenged the stranger himself. He’d been sure it would go his way- he’d defeat his enemy, free his parents, reclaim Fidelia, and all would go on as it had before.
Oh, how wrong he was.
The stranger stood tall, his hand curled around the hilt of the sword at Mateo’s neck- a sword that had belonged to the man’s father. Mateo didn’t know how he had gotten it. All he knew was that it was poised to cut his throat if he moved. So he didn’t move.
Instead, he looked at the stranger. The man’s jaw was set in determination, the outline of his face hard. But his eyes were uncertain, and Mateo realized: he doesn’t know what to do now.
“Tomás!” A woman’s voice- Fidelia’s. She rushed to them, and the stranger- Mateo remembered his name now, it was Tomás Avila- used his free hand to pull her close against his chest. She clung to him, looking down at Mateo with an expression he couldn’t read. He never had been able to tell what she was thinking.
Tomás turned his head and kissed her, still keeping Mateo at swordpoint. “It’s over,” he announced loudly enough for the villagers to hear. “You’ve lost, Rivera.”
Mateo wasn’t sure whether that was meant for his father or for himself.
The townspeople seemed to pause a moment to let the news sink in. Then they burst into wild cheering, applause- from his spot on the ground Mateo even saw the younger of the de Vea sisters jumping up and down. He had known, of course, that the Riveras were unpopular in the village. But no one had ever been strong enough to challenge them; certainly not to overthrow them. Now, with the governor and his wife under arrest and his son at swordpoint in the dust, they were free to show Mateo’s family just how hated they were. He heard his mother snarl “Peasants!” and saw one of the village women laugh in her face. It made his heart hurt to see the proud Lady Antonia so disrespected.
“What now, Tomás?” one of the townspeople asked. “What do we do with these traitors?”
“You’re the hero of this village,” called another. “Whatever you think is best, we’ll do.”
Governor Rivera scoffed at that. “Some hero. What is he? An ignorant farm boy who happens to know some tricks with a blade.”
“That blade is at your fool son’s throat, governor,” snapped the village priest. “I’d watch my mouth, if I were you.”
“We have rope handy,” suggested one of the farmers. “We could have all three strung up before sundown.”
Mateo saw his mother go pale, though she didn’t let her face change.
Tomás still looked unsure of himself, but at that remark he shook his head. “I am not Governor Rivera,” he said firmly. “There will be justice on the governor and his wife, but not without a fair trial. Is that agreeable to you?”
There was some muttering, but one of the villagers- speaking for them all- said, “We trust you, Tomás”, and the rest murmured their assent.
Tomás nodded. “Good. Then you can take former Governor Rivera and his wife to-“
“Wait a minute!” broke in a storekeeper Mateo had never much liked. “I can wait to watch the ex-governor pay his dues, but the boy tried to steal away Fidelia. Hes drawn your blood, Tomás.” Mateo hadn’t even realized, but there was a gash in Tomás’ arm, leaking darker red onto his crimson sleeve. Fidelia gasped and tore a handkerchief from her dress to hold against the wound. “What about him?” the storekeep continued.
“Yes!” cried one of the women. “Our beautiful Fidelia was nearly forced to be the bride of the governor’s brat. Surely that deserves punishment here and now.”
Mateo resisted the urge to inform the populace that, at least before Tomás had shown his face, Fidelia had seemed quite happy to marry him. He would have been the governor when his father stepped down, and she the governor’s wife. She hadn’t seemed opposed to the idea.
Fidelia stood on her toes to whisper in Tomás’ ear. The young man nodded, and let her go. She stood only a short distance away, her hands planted on her hips and her eyes on her lover.
Tomás’ hand shifted on the sword. His voice changed, became louder, more confident. “Townspeople! The Rivera family has failed you! They had a chance to be good, selfless rulers. Instead they overtaxed you, stole anything of value you possessed, and nearly drove this place into a famine. Were it not for Fidelia’s brave journey into the desert to bring me my father’s sword, this village might have been choked to death in the grip of the Rivera family. They are traitors! And while the former governor and his wife will face their own judgment for their crimes, their son will be marked as a traitor here and now.”
He looked down at Mateo, and now his eyes were as hard as the lines of his face. “Will you struggle?” Tomás asked, half a question and half a warning.
Mateo met his gaze. Held it. “No.”
And he didn’t. He held still as Tomás sliced off his jacket, his shirt, and his new medallion with a single slash of his sword. He held still, gritting his teeth against the pain, as Tomás used the tip of the blade to cut Mateo’s chest- two long, deliberate lines, one horizontal, one vertical, both stinging like fire and drawn deep enough that he knew they would scar. He held still until Tomás bent down, grabbed his arm, and pulled him up. With a flick of Tomás’ wrist, he sent Mateo stumbling out into the circle of people. Mateo’s other hand came up of its own accord to press over the wounds; blood seeped out between his fingertips. It did little good. He knew the entire village could see the bloody T carved into his chest- T for traitor.
Tomás may as well have used a branding iron. Mateo’s face burned with shame. He didn’t dare turn his head to look at his parents; he already knew their reactions. Governor Rivera would have a face wreathed in fury, but for the first time helpless to act on it, unable to lay a finger on the man who had dared humiliate his son. His mother would allow only a scrap of concern to show in the furrow of her brow and the worry in her eyes, but inwardly she would be screaming his name, longing to rush to his side and wrap him in her arms and kiss the injury all better like she had when he was a child.
There would be no making this better. It would scar, just as it was meant to. He would wear a traitor’s mark for the rest of his life.
And from the looks on the faces of the townspeople, that might not be very long.
“What about Fidelia’s honor?” cried another of the women. How many friends did she have? “This snake would have married her!”
They made him sound like some sort of monster, rather than the wealthy and reasonably handsome son of the governor.
Well.
Wealthy, no longer- most of his family’s money had come from the taxes on the people. They would likely take all that back and more.
Handsome, not anymore- not with the mark of a traitor carved into his chest. At the very least it hadn’t been cut into his face, but the symbol was still going to be difficult to conceal. And everyone would know what it meant with one look.
Son of the governor- Governor Rivera no longer was the governor, deposed by a farm boy with a sword.
Mateo had nothing left.
“Tomás spilled the traitor’s blood as payment for the cut on his arm,” called another farmer. “Fidelia, you were the one humiliated by the proposal. The punishment should be decided by you.”
Fidelia looked startled. “Me?”
“Who has the governor and his family hurt the most, if not you and Tomás?” That was the first woman again, the wife of one of the farmers. She spoke almost gently, but her eyes glittered with the chance at revenge. Mateo didn’t remember what for. His father’s fist had come down heavy on all the villagers at one time or another.
Fidelia wet her lips. Mateo knew that gesture. She did it when she was nervous. “I- I trust Tomás’ judgment,” she said, blushing scarlet.
Tomás nodded, his face still set hard like a wooden carving. “The governor and his wife,” he said, and Mateo saw his eyes go straight to Governor Rivera. “Take them to the town jail. If there’s anyone locked up there, release them.”
Neither Governor Rivera or Lady Antonia protested when the villagers, some shoving and some dragging, forced them in the direction of the marketplace. Tomás took Mateo’s other arm and pinned both behind his back, keeping a firm grip but not twisting them or pushing him. He just guided his prisoner in the direction everyone else had gone. Mateo, for his part, kept his head down. His gaze kept straying to the cuts on his chest. They had stopped bleeding so heavily, although sluggish trickles of red still stained his skin.
I must be in some state of shock. He was too well-brought-up to rage and scream at the villagers for what they had stood by and watched be done to him. But he would have expected to feel more anger about it. All he felt was a numb resignation. The balance of power had shifted, him and his family no longer on the highest scale. Anger would be useless. All he could do was wait for whatever else they chose to do to him.
The marketplace was only a short distance from the town square. Beside the church stood the jail- a squat, square clay building with a heavy wooden door. Mateo caught a glimpse of his parents as several villagers roughly escorted them inside. His father had a reddening ring around his eye, and blood trickled from his nose into his greying mustache. His silver-streaked brown hair had fallen out of its careful knot, spilling over the shoulders of his ruined coat.
His mother had fared little better. Her hair had nearly been pulled out of its neat twist at the back of her head. There was a mark on her face that suggested one of the village women had slapped her. Mateo didn’t know which one had dared strike the Lady Antonia, but the very thought of it made him want to scream. A tear glistened on his mother’s cheek, and the way she caught his eyes made him realize that it was for him, not for herself. And then she was pushed through the low doorway and he couldn’t see her anymore.
Distantly Mateo realized that he wasn’t being shoved forward to join his parents in one of the dim, bare cells. It was not a relief. All it did was fill him with apprehension toward whatever was coming next.
Fidelia tossed a glance and a nod to Tomás, hopping in a swirl of skirts onto the raised wooden platform between the jail and the church. Tomás’ grip tightened, just a bit, on Mateo’s wrists, and he gave him a little shove forward.
Mateo didn’t put the pieces together until they were at the edge of the stairs at the side of the platform. Governor Rivera had never been terribly fond of using the jail. He had always preferred the punishments he handed down to the villagers be public. The wooden platform had been deliberately placed in the marketplace- the busiest part of the town. There had been a gallows on top of it once, way back in the town’s history, but at some point it had fallen down and no one had bothered to put it back up.
That suited the governor just fine, because the pillory still stood.
Mateo realized what was happening before they reached the top of the platform. Tomás kept careful hold of his wrists as if he thought Mateo would try to run. I am a Rivera. We do not run from difficult situations. The words in his head sounded scornful, proud. But he couldn’t deny that his hands were shaking, just a little.
If Tomás noticed the trembling, he said nothing about it, and some traitorous little part of Mateo was almost grateful for that. Tomás seemed as though all he wanted was to finish with Mateo so he could return to Fidelia’s side, and the festival the villagers would doubtlessly turn into a celebration of their hero’s return. A stab of betrayal hit Mateo’s heart at that thought, like his new traitor’s mark but on the inside of his skin. This was supposed to be my birthday festival, not a feast for some outlaw.
But what could he do about it? He was helpless, both his parents and himself trapped in the town that had turned on them in moments. His parents, behind bars in the village jail. Himself…
Tomás pushed him again, not hard, just enough to get him moving. It was a few steps to the pillory, but it somehow felt like miles. Fidelia had already unlatched the hinged boards. Mateo hated that she was going to watch. He loved her, even if she preferred her ridiculous outlaw over him. He didn’t want her to see him like this.
The villagers stood below, already shouting and jeering. They’d never done that when it was one of their own. His father had even had to post guards to make sure no one released whatever unfortunate farmer had crossed the governor’s path. Mateo doubted there would be anyone trying to set him free.
They’d reached the thing now. He couldn’t read the look on Fidelia’s face, and he couldn’t see Tomás’ behind him, but the firm grip on his wrists and Fidelia’s cold eyes told him everything he needed to know. He stared into those eyes. Had he really once thought them kind?
“Don’t make this harder than it has to be, Rivera,” came Tomás’ low warning, and Mateo realized that he had stiffened his spine against what was coming. He’d done it unconsciously, out of pure instinct, and it took tremendous effort to make his bones unlock from their rigid position. He allowed Tomás to bend him forward, fitting his neck into the place carved out for it.
Tomás kept a hand on his back, letting go of first one wrist and then the other, as if he thought Mateo would try to break loose even now. Mateo breathed deeply and tried to focus on something, anything, other than what was happening.
Tomás stepped away, one hand still on Mateo’s back, and it was Fidelia who closed the other board down on him and latched it into place. The rough wood was uncomfortable, but not terribly so- what was uncomfortable was the stooped position he was trapped in. He could either look at the wooden planks beneath his feet, or raise his eyes to look at the crowd below.
Judging from the laughter and shouted insults he heard, Mateo was better off looking at the boards. His cheeks burned hot with shame and anger- but there was also an odd feeling of resignation.
“Mateo,” said Fidelia, and he turned as best he could to look at her, hoping that perhaps she’d changed her mind-
She spat in his face.
Mateo stood stock-still, staring at her in disbelief. For a moment Fidelia looked stricken, as if she herself couldn’t believe what she’d just done. Then she tossed her head proudly and leapt off the platform in a storm of red skirts. Tomás caught her in his arms and met her with a kiss, and the villagers cheered them riotously as he carried her off.
Traitor, Mateo thought viciously. Traitors all. But thinking that only reminded him of the mark on his chest.
He shifted his feet, wincing as the motion scraped his neck against the rough wood. This would not be a pleasant experience. But it could have been worse. He’d heard that it had once been considered entertainment to pelt a criminal standing in the pillory with rotten fruit and vegetables. But the famine in the village had ensured that the townsfolk wouldn’t want to waste their precious few crops on him. He had escaped that aspect of the punishment at the very least.
Mateo lifted his eyes as far as he could without also lifting his head, and saw one of the farmers bend down to the dust. When the man straightened up again, his hand was curled around a rock.
The sun was hammering down hard, but Mateo felt himself go cold regardless.
The stone struck his cheek, and it was sharp enough to cut. Mateo flinched, and the unyielding boards wrenched his neck cruelly in consequence. The farmer was laughing; Mateo could hear him. He dropped his eyes again, not wanting to see if someone else was picking up another stone.
He kept his gaze on the boards at his feet, and watched the blood from the wounds on his face and chest fall, drop by scarlet drop, onto the sun-bleached wood.
All he could think was How could this happen to me?

Teleri De Riva's backstory
When i created my Rook, Teleri i just went with what i thought was aesthetically beautiful. I gave her Vallaslin because they are gorgeous on the elves, and i picked Mythals because i thought after playing Inquisition, she would be one of the 'good' Evanuris to represent. But after playing the game, i felt like Teleri needed a reason to have them, a backstory to her. (edit added some extra as it came to me as a fell asleep...as ideas are want to do)
NAME: Teleri De Riva Nicknames: Rook. Faction - Antivan Crows (Formerly Dalish Elves) Parents: Bran and Macsen of Clan Tasallan. Her grandfather Tomás was Keeper of the clan. (Later, adopted into House De Riva. )
When Teleri was nineteen she and her clan travelled from the border of the Free Marches deep into the north of Antiva close to Arlathan to partake in a new Arlathvhen meet there as her grandfather's old clan were from there, and he hoped to see them one last time as his age was catching up on him. On the way Teleri was finally chosen by the Keeper to get her Vallaslin, thanks to finding an old elven ruin on their way that called to him after seeing it in a dream and knowing that was the place it had to be done.
They had to go on their own to the ruin as the ritual was sacred, but before she left, Teleri felt unease, so she kissed her mother, hugged her father and brother, told them she loved them, and tried to brush off her her concerns, thinking it was about the arduous nature of the journey and her grandfather's health.
She left with the Keeper and was offered three designs - Elgar'nan, Andruil or Mythal as they represented aspects of herself the Keeper saw - leader, defender or arbiter. He believed the Vallaslin echoed the best aspects of their gods rather than subservience to them, a belief he hoped to share at the meet. Teleri chose Mythal because she deeply believed in justice and if need be, retribution. Her grandfather had already set the design out, feeling deeply that she had chosen well.
She sat in silence as the Vallaslin was applied to her face, bearing the pain and channeling it into what she would be after, a clan defender like her brother or next in line to be Keeper.
But on the way back they saw black smoke near their camp and when they returned…the clan had been slaughtered. Her parents and older brother murdered along with their halla and pets. She didn't know who'd done it - there were signs of magic, but their clan did have a couple of mages as they honoured magical ability rather than feared it in their clan. Those mages had been in particular, brutally killed.
Teleri was heartbroken, but also enraged at the injustice. She had just got her Vallaslin and and lost her family all on the same day and no amount of consoling by her grandfather would quell the fire inside her. She wanted blood for what happened.
She believed these assassins known as the Crows might have done it due to travelling through Antivan land, and after her grandfather had told her tales of the crow faced killers who stole lives like Dirthamen's raven's Fear and Deceit, she believed they had to have been the culprits.
She told the Keeper after helping to bury her clan, once she'd brought him to the meet, she would then head to the first Antivan city she came across to demand answers. The Keeper gave his sad blessing, performing the last rites for their clan, feeling once they arrived at the meet and Teleri was gone, she would never return, knowing in his heart where she was heading was her true calling, she just didn't know it yet.
She ended up in Treviso, but the beautiful city could not sway her from her need for vengeance. She came across a Crow in the market and knowing the basic shemlen language well enough thanks to her father, demanded to be taken to their leader. The Crow was amused and entertained the angry elf, escorting her to the dwelling of House De Riva and this young angry little Dalish demanded right of combat as were her clan Tasallan's rights over what she believed had happened.
De Riva's 5th Talon at the time, concerned why this Dalish would think they had anything to do with it, put out a request to see if any House really had killed this clan and what the contract was as they hadn't gone after any Dalish in decades, as Antiva was always on good terms with them. He held Teleri securely but comfortably at the mansion, whilst enquiries were made and after confirming no contract had been taken, told her the Crows did not kill her clan.
Teleri didn't want to believe it, she had it right, it had to be them. But once the realisation she was wrong kicked in, she didn't know what to do. She had nothing to go back to, her clan was gone, her Keeper the last remaining Tasallan and he had told her to take the journey here.
She knew she could not face her grandfather without avenging her fallen family. The 5th Talon, admitted that would be a contract any Crow would be honoured to take, so he offered her a duel with his second to see what she was made of and to let out some of that rage her saw behind her eyes.
Viago was chosen to fight her and he offered her the choice of weapons. She took a bow and dagger as she had been trained in the way of Three Trees and Teleri held her own, she'd learnt to fight well by her brother, but up close she couldn't match the dagger play. Viago had her pinned, but was impressed and requested that she be allowed to join as a Fledgling and trained. That if she wished, and if the 5th Talon agreed, they would allow her to find who really killed her clan and she would take the contract to eliminate them as her initiation into the Crows.
She agreed, knowing now why the Keeper agreed so easily to letting her go, that he probably sent her to the Crows hoping they would take her on. It took five years of being a Fledgling, training and investigating to find that it was bandits - Nothing fancy like Venatori or Qunari ...just bandits. But well armed and powerful ones that were led by a couple of ex Templars who attacked the mages in the clan out of bitterness when they came across them.
She found their base outside Rialto and killed them all, as her training had taught her - silent, fast and brutally efficient. Except for their ex Templar leader who she poisoned to have a slow painful death, making sure the last thing he saw as he coughed up blood, was her face wickedly smiling at him.
Since then it has taken over a decade before she was promoted to be a full Crow, due to acclimatising to Antivan culture, fully learning the Antivan language of the Shemlen, (though she never lost her Free marches's Dalish accent) and her spirited 'initiative' during missions.
But Viago, even though he chastised her, believed she had potential to be one of the best, though he wasn't going to tell her that. Still he convinced the 5th talon to fully adopt Teleri into House Riva, once she became a full Crow.
As she settled, she considered removing her Vallaslin. She didn't want Antivans to think she was a taken slave like the Crows of old did, but it was her only connection to her old life and her family. So she kept them, honouring them rather than the god the Vallaslin were named after. But she never did see her grandfather again or go back to that camp in the woods...until she glimpsed it during her time in the fade prison.
She became good friends with another elf Crow Andarateia Cantori, the 7th Talon, who alongside Viago, took the former Dalish under her wings, bringing out the more playful nature of Teleri and helping her to over come her grief and blossom into the good natured person she is today. During that time, Teleri worked mostly with House De Riva and sometimes Cantori, but outside of that, didn't really interact with other Houses as she never was high enough rank to do so. She'd seen the First Talon Catarina Dellamorte and knew she had two adopted grandsons, but that was all. Lucanis had heard of Teleri through the 7th Talon, that she was as dangerous an elf in House De Riva as Teia was. He never thought he'd meet her though, since his work was so specialised. That would all change when Teleri, now a full Crow taking her own missions, took too much initiative into her own hands and jeopardised a big Crow mission against the Antaam. Her punishment- to go with the dwarves Varric Tethras and Lace Harding who were after a target called Solas, that would take them all away from Antiva. Although it was a form of temporary exile and technically a punishment, Viago knew this would be where her skills would shine and although he would not admit it, he worried for what she would find in her hunt for the ancient elf. So when she turned back up requesting the aid of the legendary Demon of Vyrantium in her hunt, he wasn't sure how to break it to her, it was a lost cause.

Can we see more of your RFTS AU? Does your Starboy have a name?
EEEEEEE!!!!! CONGRATS!! You’re my first ever ask! 🎖️💖
And I’d love to!
(I’m just so busy irl but I’m never abandoning this passion project of mine just so y’all know)
1.) I’m going to leave some details out for spoilers but here’s the gist!
Asha:
Design/Backstory:
- Asha has amber eyes with a North African purple and white colour scheme that contrasts Star’s.
- She just turned 18 a few months prior to the story.
- She grew up as a servant to the king and queen to owe up to Magnifico’s generous request to have her and her mom to stay at the castle’s spare rooms after a “fiery incident” took her house and father’s life away.
- Thus, she has a muscular build from all the experience she had running errands for them.
- Sabino is not her blood-related grandpa in this AU. He used to be the prev king’s and Magnifico’s royal advisor before retiring at an old age. He used to be close friends with Asha’s father. (I’m debating whether I should make Tomás the king’s prev assistant.) In a way, Asha still views Sabino as family.
RFTS! Asha’s design is basically inspired by my fav concept art of her <3
Personality:
(Asha’s main arc is that in order to ‘reach for the stars,’ she must first learn to trust in her capabilities and decisions. Because every single person has great potential that grows the more you have faith in yourself :)))
She develops from being an insecure servant girl to an admirable leader.)
- She’s TERRIBLE at organising her thoughts into words when she’s nervous. She finds it easier to sketch positive and negative things that she can’t say out loud into her sketchbook and vents there often.
- Asha is a daydreamer. (I plan on having her daydreaming sequences in 2D while when she snaps back to reality, the story goes back to 3D.). She likes imagining and drawing about her dreams and desires. It’s an escape from life and a stress-reliever
- She makes a bunch of promises to herself and others but often finds herself chickening out, afraid and unsure on how to take direction. (It’s a subversion of the brave princesses we had. Besides, I think we can all relate to this at some point, right?)
- At the same time, Asha beats herself up for still feeling afraid.
- She’s very observant with her surroundings. It’s why she manages to find something was off in the castle and catch on if people are hiding something
- Highly empathetic, allowing her to form deep bonds with people who struggle with verbal communication. She finds it easy to sympathise and is slow to anger and pointing fingers.
- She remembers limited sign language for being childhood friends with Dario, who is hard of hearing in this AU. But now, it’s been a while and is kinda rusty with it.
- Asha struggles in appreciating small things around her, believing that the prize at the end and achieving the wish is the thing most worth it. Initially believing it’s the only way people can be truly happy. If a wish isn’t granted, then what?
- Very creative, witty and quick on her feet.
- Tends to be indecisive due to the initial habit of being a people-pleaser, fears making a mistake, and due to having grown up where most decisions are already made for her (as a servant of the king and queen). She is insecure about her own capabilities.
- Can be playful at times and can take a joke/prank. (often with Valentino, who she adopted after his mother abandoned him from being born sick.)
……….
Star:
Design/Backstory:
- Tan skin colour with freckles across his face. Has wide hazel eyes. (Blue to brown, reminiscent of the sky)
- He’s 22 yrs old. Wishing stars don’t age physically but they still age mentally the same rate as humans.
- His hair looks like it’s made of stardust and it constantly has sparkles flying off it like sparks from a fire. The back of his hair is black like space. (I’ve show it already but it’s basically this:)
- His colour scheme is black and yellow in contrast to Asha’s. He wears a capelet and a cape that’s black on the outside and yellow sparkles under it. When he flies super fast, his cape looks like the tail of a shooting star.
- Light dims when upset and glows brightly whenever he’s happy. Sometimes, he glows red when he’s angry (Ref to Ray and Tinkerbell)
- Mute/Nonverbal. Communicates through sign language, light manipulation, animating sketches in Asha’s book, and drawing in air with stardust.
- He shapeshifts by rearranging the stardust that makes him up. This also means he could change his clothes very easily. In his numerous forms, the most notable thing is that there always has to be a star shape somewhere.
- He’s a young wishing star in the sky that was captured by King Magnifico to use his magic as a power source. He’s been kept locked up for nearly a decade until Asha freed him. However, on his wrists are green bands, similar to what the Genie in ‘Aladdin’ has. It’s the spell casted on him for extra measure to make him unable to return home or stray far from Rosas.
Personality:
(Due to being under Magnifico’s cruelty for a while, Star mistrusts humans and initially wonders constantly if they have ulterior motives. Srsly, the only thing he wants to do is go home to the sky and never go back down again.
But his arc over the story has him discovering how similar humans are to stars. How they shine a light and inspire one another to do great things. And most amazingly, with no magic! Over the story, Star reawakens his wonder of this beautiful world.)
- Wishing stars like him are the only creatures that have Wish magic. An unpredictable magic that not even the best astrologists and researchers know its limits. The way it works is that Star connects with a wish essence first, and then the passion and faith the person has with that wish determines the power and how long-lasting his help would be. It’s up to the wishing star then to decide their own unique method of granting that wish.
(It’s like training wheels. It would help guide you and then goes away once you get the hang of reaching your wish on your own.)
- A heart of gold who can’t resist saying no to a desperate face for long. While hesitant at first, he’ll slowly soften up. He’s actually a very sweet guy who loves making people happy under that defensive mask.
- Overly cautious and paranoid at first (like Rapunzel when she first got out the tower) but his wonder gets the better of him eventually.
- Greatly fears Magnifico to a high extent.
- Claustrophobic asf. The look he gave Asha when she proposed the idea for him to hide in her satchel while travelling through the kingdom was almost personal.
(It’s funny to think his initial dynamic with Asha is somewhat similar to Moana and Maui. Well…Not completely.
Basically, the only way for him to return home to the sky was return to the castle (which he JUST escaped-), find the artifact that casted the spell on him and break it, then he’s free. Though, Asha asked a favour that FIRST, he helps her find a way to free a few wishes first.
Honestly, this is frustratingly the best she could compromise with him because he’ll stubbornly refuse anything that involves direct confrontation with Mag. Asha secretly hopes she could change his mind on the way.
And because of that dread of going back anywhere near Magnifico again, Star would “accidentally” stall their journey there, which annoys Asha.)
- STUBBORN. Asha would tease him at times that he’s getting attached to Earth things and he’ll deny it because “Nooooooo~ I don’t. I am going straight back to the sky and that’s it.”
- Star would annoy or make fun of people harmlessly to express his frustrations with them. (He gets creative with his shape-shifting forms)
- Wish magic is unpredictable. So whenever he’s feeling highly emotional, like highly excited, scared, mad, or depressed, things happen out of his control. A rock turns into a giant orange pumpkin or a mushroom grows to 10x its original size.
- Impatient and gets distracted easily
- Star initially avoids touch at all times because of his mistrust in humans. He flinches at sudden advances. But progressively gets really affectionate as he learns to trust in certain people. That not all humans are selfish after all.
- Feels under-appreciated at times but doesn’t let it show. (A parallel to Magnifico who also feels under-appreciated. But instead of being vengeful, Star chooses to keep making others happy)
- Basically the entire embodiment of the therapist friend. (He keeps his issues to himself to avoid bothering others because “that’s not what stars dooo.”)
- He’s irritated that his inability to speak is misinterpreted as “stubbornness, uncooperativeness, and childishness.”
- This is AFTER he lets his defensive mask crumble down. Star finds appreciation and the beauty in the smallest and seemingly insignificant things, which he often brings to show Asha and his friends. (He’s the type to collect trinkets like Ariel.)
………….
Magnifico/Magnus:
Design/Backstory:
- Most of his design is summed up in this sheet I drew
- Magnifico is 38 yrs old
- His clothing is still white but with blue-ish patterns like the wishes he keeps stored away. Why is he storing those wishes? Let’s just say he and his wife have a big plan for Rosas’ 100th anniversary the coming month. ;)
- Mf has greying hair from all that stress
- I’m still keeping the backstory of him watching his village get destroyed as a young kid. Magnus was one of the few survivors who left the village alive on boat. They retreated to Rosas, where it held its reputation of being the most welcoming kingdom with each king being a grand sorcerer that serves his people. (So Rosas wasn’t built by Mag. It’s an already established kingdom)
- Being an orphan who had to turn to stealing to live, Magnus came across King Oliver, the prev king of Rosas. Feeling sorry for the boy, and having his wife and heir die from childbirth, he adopted him as Prince Magnifico. The name change representing a start to a new life.
- I want to make Mag’s backstory a subversion of the trope where the “MC rebels against their parent figure and is able to prove in the end that they are independent enough and their parent finally sees their POV and supports their child from then on.”
Growing up, King Oliver was admittedly not the best parent and was unintentionally dismissive in Mag’s trauma. “What’s past is past and sometimes it’s best to forget and move on.” Mag was enraged because he LOVED his original family and home and didn’t want to JUST forget.
- Mag fell in love with Amaya in the typical “Royalty x Commoner in the woods” fashion. But even then, King Oliver didn’t approve that. Not because Amaya’s a commoner, but because she’s a criminal who has intentionally broken Rosas’ magic safety restrictions for her alchemist experiments. This added more fuel to Mag’s hatred of him, of course. (Like damn, I wonder if Mag had anything to do with him passing away-)
- “After all, a king can do whatever he wants with his kingdom. Isn’t that right, father…? You did want me so desperately to be a good king…” (A quote that’s sort of a Scar ref?? Idk)
- Mag feels like he deserves the power due to his tragic past. He’s so sure that as king, he decides what everyone deserves. He feels like the world owes him for what happened.
And he will give the world and all those ungrateful brats, especially his dear adoptive father, what they deserve on Rosas’ 100th Anniversary. The day he shapes Rosas into the perfect land that he and Amaya were denied from. And after Rosas, the rest of the kingdoms will follow.
- He’s a vengeful spiky ball who thinks he deserves the credit for any problem he “solves.” Has Hero syndrome.
Personality:
- Psychopathic: Entitled, arrogant and impulsive
- Magnifico craves excitement and rewards. He smiles at the slightest compliment and gets a little bashful with flirts.
-He definitely runs his hands through his hair and plays with his cape as stress-relievers.
- Anger Issues. Yep.
- Superficially charming towards people as a manipulative tactic. Though it’s easier to break his facade compared to Amaya because of his temper.
- Remember when I said he’s almost similar to Lotso in Toy Story 3? I’m not giving too much details but do whatever with that knowledge.
- He genuinely believes and hates the Wishing Stars for ignoring his pleas as a child on the night he lost everything. It’s why he’s so harsh with Star himself.
………
Amaya:
In all honesty, I have not finished the queen’s redesign much. Oof- 😭
Here are some brainstorms I have with her though:
- Amaya is 37
- She aids Magnifico with spying and starting accidental tragedies.
- She’s usually in charge of the servants in the castle. Asha looks up to her since Amaya’s the nicest monarch to her and someone in the castle she feels safe around with. Like a second mother. With Mag, Asha feels like she’s walking on eggshells.
- Amaya secretly uses some animals and prisoners kept in the dungeons as subjects for her experiments.
- Being an alchemist (and more skilled in it than Mag), her magic is a substitute so that they can quickly save more wishes for their grand plan for Rosas’ 100th anniversary. (I forgot to mention that Mag uses the wishes to make his magic stronger.)
- She’s a strong parallel of Asha, presenting the dangers inflicted upon others when one gets too ambitious with their own goals that they are apathetic towards how it affects other people
- An independent woman who is very ambitious like Asha. However instead of keeping it to herself, Amaya goes beyond lengths to reach her goals. To become the most skilled alchemist, alongside her powerful husband, the world has ever known and prove it to those who doubted her. Like Asha, Amaya has her own notebook she keeps her notes in.
- Skilled at disguises and coming up with fake stories that are easy to believe in. (Ref to the Evil Queen, Jafar and multiple other Disney villains who utilise deception)
- Holds the calculating and intelligent skills in her power duo with Magnifico. Mag is more on delivery, force and image. (The Brains and the Brawn duo)
- Her family was against her interest in learning magic/alchemy. So Amaya heavily dislikes company that she perceives as holding her back from her full potential.
- Fled to Rosas for more opportunities. While magic isn’t forbidden at the time she arrived, there were safety restrictions such as certain spells and potions that aren’t allowed to be made and casted, which she loathed. (So she stole and found ways to gather ingredients for her experiments in the woods, prior to meeting Magnifico.)
- Probs just think of her as being as curious and innovative as Zarina from ‘The Pirate Fairy”, but you know, eviler.
…….
2.) Now for RFTS!Starboy’s name in this AU.
I’ve mentioned this in a previous post I had before but his name issssssss 🥁🥁🥁:
✨ Star ✨
No, I’m not kidding. That’s it.
Yes, Wishing Stars have names but not in a way humans understand. Their real names are in a language that is incomprehensible and ear-damaging levels of loud for humans to hear. While yes, they know English just fine, there’s not really an equivalent in the human alphabet for their real names.
Wishing Stars still love to listen to the names humans would give them from below though. Either individually or as a constellation. They love it! Ursa Major? Alpha Crucis? Awww.
Anyways-
Star hasn’t received a name growing up in the sky because he’s small and easy to miss. When they first met, Asha was not in a creative state of mind at the time and meant to put “Star” as a placeholder name for now.
However, the magical boy got attached to the name and stubbornly refuses to hear any other attempt at giving him another one. It’s so simple but it’s HIS name now. He claims it. I find it cute that a supernatural being with literal outer space as his home, appreciates the smallest things given to him. So “Star” it became….
Though, Asha did introduce Star as “Peter” (Pan) to certain people to hide his identity. Because ‘Star’ is too obvious, you know?
And then Star jokingly pretends to not know who this ‘Peter’ is whenever she refers to him as such. Asha would just roll her eyes and stifle a chuckle.
Friendly reminder that some details may change as I develop the RFTS!AU more. Hope ya’ll like it so far!! 💖

Asha
My current design for my Asha
A little Lady with a big heart and is about to go on the ride of a lifetime
Qualms of her Occupation
- Asha is 19 years old and the current assistant of King Magnifico. She has worked as an assistant for 3 years and has a passion for helping others
- Though she enjoys helping those around her, the citizens of Rosas can be… needy. Rumor has it that the assistant and their family have a guaranteed chance of having their wish granted, but the assistant could have the King grant the wishes of citizens and friends. And the people often have multiple wishes after their deepest one. So, Asha is often bombarded by people being pseudo-friendly and asking Asha to ask the King to grant their Wishes next or grant their other wishes.
- Asha, being a people pleaser at the moment, will usually write down their names and extra wishes while trying to politely leave the crowd (they won’t make it easy). Even when she actually says no, they won’t take it for answer. Best case scenario when she says no, ask her again the next day. Worst case scenario, a stalking situation.
- To avoid anymore crowds, she wears a cloak and a mask to hide as she goes to the castle. Simon and Gabo will also walk her to the castle if they can, but the strategy became harder to use as citizens soon recognized her disguise and her friends and continued to swarm her. Magnifico gave her a variety of different cloaks and masks to use and even offered his guardian lynx, Charo, to help her go home. She declined the lynx because it seemed extreme and felt bad needing his help.
- The irony of it all is that her wish hadn't been granted since she gave it to Magnifico. She enjoys her life and only had two wishes. To draw motion pictures like her father and for people to treat her a normal person and actually treat her a neighbor as opposed to a cheat code for abundance. The second wish was written down so she wouldn't forget it before her 18th birthday and refers back to that writing whenever she has dealt with people and is slightly impatient for it be granted.
Personality Traits
> Kind and passionate
> Strategic and honest
> Hard-working and balanced
> Hopeful but naïve
> Helpful but unconfrontational
Hobbies
- She loves drawing and has walked to many high points in the kingdom to sketch or paint the landscape. She is working to create “moving pictures” like her father did.
- Asha enjoys reading about astrology and high fantasy. She will invite her friends to read with her in the forest whenever they have time.
Background
• Asha lives in the forest and helps her mother, Sakura, grow food, cook, do laundry and other manual tasks for the house.
• Sakira is a seamstress that will go into the market to sell handmade garments and offer to repair or customize a client's garments.
• Sakira likes to knit as a hobby.
• Her father, Tomás, was a royal philosopher and astronomer for the Monarchs. He would take his family to the wishing tree at the coast and tell them about his the constellations and his philosophies. Asha would pay the most attention to his lectures.
• Tomás gave away his wish to become the greatest philosopher but felt a void in his soul since then. He would spend his time waiting by drawing, and later built a passion for art and rediscovered the old magic of "motion pictures". He would teach Asha the same magic and most importantly, he taught her how to commit to building a skill you are passionate about even when it was difficult and frustrating.
• He died when Asha was 12 to a pre-existing heart condition. The Monarchs sent their condolences and offered to pay for the funeral expenses.
• Sabino was a well renowned musician when he was younger.
• Sabino once broke his mandolin after whacking one of Asha's stalkers over the head with it. He had it repaired and reinforced to take the force.
• Asha was the third assistant to be hired by the King and was his assistant for the longest time.
• She had an "unpleasant" encounter with an ex-assistant that made her reconsider letting Charo guard her.
• The citizens of Rosas are puzzled by Asha's lack of desires for the King to grant and her persistence to develope a skill rather than wish to become a professional.
• Ever since becoming an assistant, Asha's conversation with citizens have been shallow. She would talk about an exciting view of the kingdom and try to show it with a painting just to be cut off with "yeah, yeah, fun but not important. Anyway can tell the King if he can grant me a(n) *insert extra wish here*".
• In this AU, how many wishes are granted can be inconsistent. Sometimes, only 1 wish will be granted in a month. Sometimes, 2 will be granted in a week. Sometimes 3 will be granted in a month. Sometimes, 4 will be granted in a night. It's hard to keep track. What is consistent is that there is a Wish taking ceremony once a month.
• Wishes are only granted at night to keep them a surprise and to lower public anticipation. When a wish is granted, It is transformed into a large, yellow, plasma moth. Magnifico will open the roof of his tower to let them return to the og wisher.
• In each wish taking ceremony, whomever has given up a wish is tracked by Dario. Once you give up a wish, you are not allowed to give up another one until the next year. Dario is employed to be sure of this.
Little quirks ✨
° She will stroke her hair whenever she is nervous.
° Asha is quite strong for her age and size. She helps with the manual labor of her home and has carried large books, bundles of sticks, bags of rocks, and other heavy supplies for the King’s work. *This will come into play later.
° Her favorite colors are purple, orange and gold.
° Asha occasionally draws Valentino as a full grown billy fighting giant hawks and shows him as a form of encouragement (he's afraid of most birds).
@annymation @oh-shtars @chillwildwave @signed-sapphire @uva124 Ayo, this was fun to write

BRC Headcanon Full Names
I have another BRC ask to work on tonight, thus I figure I should post this now. So then, behold! A big ol’ list of full name headcanons!
Basically a continuation of this post I made a long while back. This covers pretty much all the major characters, at least the playable ones. Plus even specific crew members from the rival crews!
Some of these have specific meanings that I used for the particular character, others were just kind of more general vibes, like “Oh this sounds cool/cute/etc.” A few of these will have extra notes on why I picked particular given/family names, but otherwise just assume it was because I liked the sound of it! Went with mostly Dutch last names for most of these characters since, well, dialog in parts of the game imply New Amsterdam is still in the Netherlands, so that made it a bit easier when I couldn't think of anything else to try, y'know? :P
Also note, not everyone here has a middle name. Not everyone irl has one anyways! Also also, some of the Dutch last names may be in the format of “Van (something)” or “De (something”, so just wanted to point that out in case anyone might get confused and think Van/De is a middle name, lol
Starting with the main cast:
Tryce = Tristian Christoffel
Bel = Annabella Pieper
DJ Cyber = Cyrus Rafaël Nassau
Felix = Bernard Manfred Van Steen (I still maintain that Felix looks like his real name would be Bernard, lol)
Vinyl = Florence Zoë Hendriks (when she was a child, she would sometimes write it as “Hendrix” and try to convince people she was related to Jimi Hendrix; it worked more often than it probably should have)
Solace = Levi Smit
The five bonus BRC members:
Rave = Vanessa Yvonne Ziegler (A headcanon, note, her dad is a black German, and her mom is from the Dominican Republic! Since she has a bunch of lines in German, and at least two in Spanish (one in particular being specifically Dominican slang), so that’s how I’m handled this :P )
Mesh = Bassam Karimi (first name means “smiling” in Arabic, last name is derived from the given name Karim/Kareem, which in turn means something along the lines of "generous, noble" or “dignity”; my research into this yielded differing results, but this seems to be more or less the overall idea. Honestly think it both sounds nice and really suits him!)
Shine = Sol Bakker (“Sol” just means “sun” in Spanish and Portugese, basically the idea is she derived her street name from that!)
Rise = Josephine Katherina Thomas (She hates being called any sort of nickname for her first name. It’s either Rise or Josephine, that’s it)
Coil = Oscar Meijer (Fun fact, the English equivalent of Meijer is Meyer/Mayer. I genuinely did not intentionally make Coil’s real name to be a roundabout reference to the lunch meat, but now that I realize it, I’m definitely keeping it this way, loool)
Some others:
Rietveld = We know here full name is Irene Rietveld, but a bonus idea: the rest of BRC point out it’s a bit awkward for her to go by her real name as her street/writer name, so she eventually settles on Rivet as an alias! :D
Escher = Matthias Conrad Escher (Originally just Matthias, but then decided to make a reference to the actual M. C. Escher, “Yeah, my parents knew what they were doing.”; thanks to @slappels for the suggestion way back when!!)
My Devil Theory OCs! The season in parentheses is what in-game palette they correspond with.
Sai (spring) = Tomás Lucas Ortiz
Nunchaku (summer) = Roxanne Beverly Sullivan
Daishō (autumn) = Hiro Francisco Morikawa (first name using the character for “prosperous” (浩); last name using the characters for “forest” (森) and “river” (川). Not that he ever gets a chance to write them in Japanese characters anyways :P )
Bō (winter) = Gavril Jansen
Now for DOT EXE! A repeat from the full DOT EXE headcanons I made a while back, but still including it here for convenience.
Cueball = Ernesto Alberto Visser (Dutch father and Italian-American mother; “Her side of the family were like, the conservative Italian-American types. The kind that makes an annoyingly big deal about celebrating Columbus Day.”; his first and middle name come from two different great grandfathers on his mom’s side)
Eight Ball = Frederik Visser (older half-brother to Cueball, they share the same dad)
Cinco (five ball) = César Hugo Raúl Garcia-Flores (last name got hyphenated when he moved to New Amsterdam while getting his papers in order and stuff; not sure if I ever clarified it in the original post, but in most (probably all?) Spanish-speaking countries, people have two last names, one from their father and the other from their mother. When moving to a country that doesn’t allow for two last names, some people end up forced to pick one or the other. Cinco went with just hyphenating it to be able to effectively keep both.)
Neun (nine ball) = Sebastián Montero Sebastian Jäger
Twoson (two ball) = Beau Driessen
Fourside (four ball) = Robin Zaal
Jūrō (ten ball) = Maximilien Théodore Perrault
Quatorze (fourteen ball) = Marie-Madeleine Lucille Perrault
And heck, the rest of the New Amsterdam crews too while I’m at it. Same as with DT and DE, the season in parentheses is the corresponding in-game palette for the playable rival character.
The Franks:
Flesh Prince = Ruben Vos (last name meaning fox, and apparently was/is a nickname for a clever person… or a person with red hair, lol)
Bill (spring) = Caspar Westenberg
Charles (summer) = Thomas Vogels
Michael (autumn) = Abraham Joël Admiraal
Larry (winter) = Lennard Van Herten
(For their street names besides the Prince, they’re named after famous basketball players, specifically from this list; Charles, Michael, and Larry are probably obvious, with Bill there’s at least two different Bills on that list lol)
Eclipse: (Street names come from constellations, I tried to go with more (relatively?) obscure ones for the names)
Vela (spring) = Sara Al-Ghazzawi
Aquila (summer) = Melissa Agnes Fortuin
Lyra (autumn) = Hannah De Klerk
Cassiopeia (winter) = Xandra Gemma Daalmans (given name is actually Alexandra, but she goes mostly by Xandra for her business)
And finally the rest of FUTURISM: (see my recent short headcanon post about them!)
Nyx (spring) = Laura Kappel
Jazz (summer) = Vincent Linden
Veronica (autumn) = Paula Prinsen (Paula is the feminine form of Paul, which in turn has roots in the Latin word Paulus which can mean humble. This is an intentionally ironic name choice for this character, lmao. Also Prinsen means “son of the Prince”, so this one is more in line with her haughty attitude)
Quantum (winter) = Esther Katja Hoedemaker (She goes by Kat as a nickname)
This next one only applies to my fanfic AU of “What if we take the postgame at face value and Red somehow became a separate person from both Felix and Faux”, but anyways:
Red = Russell Miles Van Steen (Picked the first and middle names himself, note that Russell just means “red” lol. He took on Felix’s last name since they see each other as brothers after a certain point. And it’s not like Red could come up with a better last name anyways. His middle name when paired with Felix’s middle name is a Miles Edgeworth reference :P )
#bomb rush cyberfunk#brc headcanons#bomb rush cybderfunk headcanons#almost all of the characters are here besides Faux the Oldheads Benni and Berlage#I'm not going to tag all of them because there is A LOT lmao#Wren's BRC Headcanons

Can we ask for more info on Tomas mother?
Whats her name? What’s she like, does she still care and love Tomas?, is it possible to help Tomas and her reconcile?
Her name is Veronica Angelina de Alamilla, long as hell name but that's upper class Castelliones for you.
Veronica is very... proper. I think that's a good word for her; she is always sitting straight, speaks with a polite tone, and dresses like old royalty. The thing is, she was always the perfect pawn of her own family and was well aware of it. Her family is also a very old one but didn't quite have the same land and the wealth as Tomás's father did.
The Vasquez's were a well off, old, respectable, and most importantly; a dying house with only two family members of the main branch left. Veronica's family saw an opportunity and sent their eldest daughter to woo him, when she succeeded they were quickly wed. Only problem was that the Alamilla's thought they could easily control Tomás's father, mold him to do what they wanted because he was young and had little family left. What they didn't know was that he was a proud and loving man that wanted to take care of his wife and live their own lives, respectfully apart from his in laws.
He didn't see the marriage as a full merger of their families like Veronica did, but rather; all he saw was a beautiful woman who loved him and he swore to marry her and take care of her for the rest of his life. He wanted them to make their own life, independent from politics and... nagging extended family members. He would often tell her that she while he understands they are family, he and how many ever children they have is now her immediate family. That she needed to let go of being so directly attached to the Alamilla's, that she is a Vasquez now.
Veronica's own emotions are complicated, she often ignores her feelings entirely and deeply enjoys being the 'good daughter', the example, the prize of the Alamilla's. Their best asset.
Tomás's father was just a tool to her at first, she was just doing her duty by swaying him into favoring her above his other potential suitors. Not that he really knew that he had any others, as soon as Veronica set her eyes on him many women knew better than to even try. She has a serious reputation among Castellion circles, one that paints her both as an exemplary noble woman and a terrifying, vindictive, manipulator. She was very surprised by just how genuine and lovingly her husband was to her, it made things complicated.
There is more to that, but I'll save it for Tomás's storyline lol.
As for if MC can help reconcile him and his mom, they can certainly try! Whether it changes Tomás's mind or if MC would even want to after knowing the full story of everything she did, is the real question!

OC Showcase: Tomás Herrera
Name: Tomás Herrera (He/Him)
Age: 20 (DOB August 17)
Skill/Gift: Wood Carver
Notable Family: Mateo Herrera (Brother), Horacio & Lucía Herrera (Parents)
Tomás Herrera is a quiet, mild-mannered young man who befriends Camilo during the rebuilding of Casita. His succinct and reserved nature masks an observant and introspective mind, and while he doesn't say much he has plenty of thoughts and feelings inside.
Tomás lives in his childhood home with his father and brother, while his mother passed from tuberculosis when Tomás was 9. Though the men of his family make their living in masonry and construction work, Tomás has pursued woodworking can often be found in his private wood shop. The framework of most furniture is left to the carpenters of the village, but Tomás carves the intricate patterns and details into the grain, adding that flair that pulls a piece together. Another creative endeavor is poetry, but he'd rather eat his notebook than let anyone see it.
Initially the friendship between Tomás and Camilo is a very casual one. But as their bond strengthens, their opposites-attract personalities result in them growing very close with one another. Camilo is the energetic mischief-maker while Tomás is his level-headed foil, and it's a combination some people are surprised to see works as well as it does.
For much of his adolescence he harbors a crush on Camilo's cousin Luisa, admiring her for her dependability and selflessness (plus a lifetime of rescues here and there). He's reluctant to reveal these feelings, believing himself unworthy of her attention, but Camilo thinks he should suck it up and be honest before someone else does it first. In certain future scenarios he succeeds and courts her, eventually marrying her and siring one daughter named Lilia.

the funniest movie reaction is the people saying Derek should have wanted Eli to be taken in by Peter or Malia or Cora instead of Scott and Allison. You know, Peter, the serial killer who murdered Derek's sister
What did you expect?
The Sterek fandom loves, loves, loves the idea of found family and families of choice (see "pack mom Stiles," "Hale Pack 2.0," and even the "puppy pack"), but for some unfathomable reason insists that Derek must entrust his only son to a biological Hale rather than to Scott, whom Derek named as his brother in the first episode of the first season, even if the alternative would be placing Eli in the care of Peter, the serial killer who murdered his own niece and tried to use his own daughter as a weapon.
This is the same fandom who can't stand Scott because he is a morally naïve, morally inflexible, and morally bland goody-goody, but for some unfathomable reason can also list in exhaustive detail every questionable thing Scott has ever done, like they're auditioning for the role of Tomás de Torquemada in a 15th-century auto-da-fé.
This is the same fandom who can easily see that Eli Hale is implied to be Stiles's stand-in or pseudo-child because of a flannel shirt and a Jeep fixation, but for some unfathomable reason cannot perceive any parallel between Eli, a young man with a difficult relationship with his father and discomfort with being a werewolf due to past violence, and Season 1 Scott, a young man with a difficult relationship with his father and discomfort with being a werewolf due to past violence.
This is the same fandom who can write tens of thousands of stories where Stiles Stilinski's pure love for Derek Hale saves Derek from loneliness, disenfranchisement, depression, suppressed sexual trauma, feral degeneration, witch's curses, demonic possession, and/or death itself, but for some unfathomable reason treats the film's central idea that Scott McCall's devotion for Allison Argent, the first (but not the last) girl he ever loved romantically, might be enough for him to find a way break the nogitsune's hold on her and save her from being its weapon without killing her, with disdainful revulsion for such a childish concept, even though Scott did the same thing for Stiles in Season 3B.
As years pass, we may never be able to understand these unfathomable reasons.
BUT IT'S NOT RACISM.

Father Marcus? What do you want? My name is Tomás Ortega. Father Tomás from St. Anthony's. It's in Chicago. What do you want? What can you tell me about demonic possession? It doesn't exist. Enjoy your drive home. I was told you were an exorcist. Who exactly told you that? Does it matter?
*turns to face him* Yeah, I think it does. It is you. What do you want? Exorcism- does it work? According to the Church, yeah. *turns away from him* And according to you? You didn't come here for advice, did you, Father Tomás from St. Anthony's in Chicago? You came for help. Who is it? Um, a girl in my parish... maybe. So why maybe come to me? I had a dream. Dreams. And... it's the same dream. And you're in it. Go on. There was a child... tied to a bed. You called him Gabriel. What else? There was newspapers in the window, a... a broken crib on the floor. *turns to face him again and starts backing him up* The boy- he died. His neck- Tell me something that wasn't on the news.
*back hits the wall* If you were in the room, what did you see? I- I don't believe you. You- you- I don't believe you, Tomás. You, um- If you were in the room, what did you see? You told him a nursery rhyme! Go on. There once was a cat, with feet made of cloth, *together* and upside-down eyes. Eighteen months ago. Mexico City. It was real? Oh, yeah. *backs away from him* Now you believe- let me guess- you believe that God has brought you here to my door- The only thing that I know is that something, somehow- That would be a type of coincidence, Tomás. God, for future reference, isn't the one who works in mysterious ways. You're being manipulated, my friend, by forces that you can't even begin to understand.
They're gonna love you. They?! Who are they?! It's an excellent question. *opens the door for him to leave and turns away from him* Go home, Father Tomás. Give your homilies, break your bread. Live a long and happy life. You're way out of your depth.
You're afraid. Yeah, you should be, too. *repeats what he heard him say in his dream* And Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." *leaves* *cries and yells at God* All this time? All this time, and this is what you send me? This your damn sign?!

Avila’s full name is Avila Reina Guzmán-Madrigal.
Her first name means “town” and her middle name means “queen”. She is named for her maternal great-great grandmother.
She is the fourth child of Dolores Madrigal and Mariano Guzmán.
She has her father’s lighter skin tone and straight hair. She has Dolores’ facial shape and ears. Her hair is lighter than her parents, probably from Pepa. She also has Pepa’s teeth. She looks almost identical to Amada, but is slightly taller, and has slightly darker skin.
She is eleven years old.
She has an older sister by eight years, Leta, an older brother by three years, Andrés, an older brother by two years, Carlos, and a younger twin sister by thirty seconds, Amada.
She is currently uninterested in romance or sex.
Her gift is freezing time. She can only do so for small bursts, and she can pick and choose who gets frozen and who doesn’t. She likes using her power for shenanigans, and stopping accidents, but uses it sparingly, as her gift can be dangerous if used improperly.
Her door portrays her smiling with her arms in the air. A large pocket watch hovers above her, stopped with both hands in the 12:00 position.
Her room resembles the nursery, with pale yellow walls and wooden floors. Her bed is bigger than usual, as Amada will sneak into her room for secret sleepovers. She has a small side stage to practice her dancing, and many half-finished jigsaw puzzles scattered around.
His symbol is the infinity sign.
She and Dolores get along alright, but she is much more active and loud than her mother.
She gets along best with Pepa, Antonio, and Héctor.
She’s more of a tomboy than her twin. She likes to run around and get dirty with Mariana, Leta, Rómulo, and Héctor.
She likes to solve problems and puzzles.
She likes to dance, and is very graceful with her movements.
She is a few inches taller than Amada, and she lords it over her all the time.
She and Amada like to consider themselves like the ‘younger’ versions of Amelia and Sofía.
Her favorite colors are light yellow, maroon, dark pink, and light blue.
