Sunflowers for Ukraine 🌻 🇺🇦 . . . I am still in utter shock at what is happening right now in Ukraine. My heart goes out to each and every person who has been affected by the conflict. War is such an ugly and heartless beast. It has no care for how many lives it destroys and families it tears apart. I truly hope that this can end before it gets any worse. All of my Ukrainian followers, know that each and every night when I go to sleep I say a silent prayer in hopes that you and your community will soon know peace. . . . How can you help Ukraine? 🌻 Write to your MP and ask for stricter sanctions against Russia. 🌻 Donate vital items to collections and give things like nonperishable food, toiletries and medicine. 🌻 Donate to charities giving aid to Ukraine like the Red Cross. . . . As we find ourselves nestled in the delicate balance between winter’s hushed whispers and the impending arrival of spring, I’m reminded of the quiet beauty found in the in-between—the gentle pause where the earth catches its breath before bursting forth with new life.

During this middle way between seasons, I often find myself lingering, not quite ready to emerge from my winter cocoon. There’s a certain comfort in the stillness, a familiarity in the chill of the air and melancholic gloom of the clouds. Yet, as the promise of spring beckons, I feel a stirring within—a subtle invitation to welcome the unfolding of new beginnings.

There is magic in embracing the flow, in listening to the whispers of nature and allowing ourselves to be guided by its gentle currents.

As we prepare to transition into the blossoming of spring, here are four herbs and plants to accompany us on this journey: Nettles, Cleavers, Dandelion, and Peppermint.

Happy #InternationalWomensDay . . . For this years International Women’s Day I wanted to recreate the iconic Votes for Women Poster that became an emblem of the Suffragette movement here in the UK. As a woman, the suffragettes always are a poignant reminder of the strength and resilience of women. These women battled arduously for years from 1903 until around 1918 to get women the right to have the vote and thus a more equal place in society. It took persistence and determination but eventually they made progress. Even when they succeeded only certain women who were of a certain age or who owner property were permitted the right to vote. But it was a start! You may say they were the catalyst that ignited the flames in many women both in the UK and internationally who knew they deserved more from society to push boundaries and make change. To all my sisters reading this post, you are all wonderful people. You have the potential to do whatever you set your mind to. I’m not saying it will be easy, but you will get there. The Suffragettes teach us all that not everything comes quickly, but if you are persistent enough they will happen in the end. I would also like to take the time to acknowledge the brave women of Ukraine who are fighting for their country, saving lives and doing everything they can to in this crisis. These women are true heroes who I send all my love and strength to right now. So remember ladies when you go out today hold your head up high and be proud to be you. . . .
