Finished this read, probably one of the best fantasy books I’ve read this year. I loved the use of magic and the characters I’ve grown attached to and the plot twist had me gagged. 🍄🌱🌿⭐️✨

“‘Nothing is safe from you. If I were to court a girl who lived on an iceberg in the middle of the ocean, sooner or later— probably sooner— I’d look up to see you swooping overhead on a broomstick. In fact, by now I’d be disappointed in you if I didn’t see you.’
‘Are you off to the iceberg today?’” Sophie retorted. Diana Wynne Jones, Howl’s Moving Castle
Flowers are starting to bloom, and it is a great time to get out your spring quilts! 📖🌼 This cheerful quilt has lovely bundles of flowers. A great addition to any flower shop, or moving castle.
Today’s @owlcrate @OCthenest @words.and.whimsy Cooking up Spells photo challenge is A Cauldron You Say? A Story with a Surprise Witch. Sophie is just as surprised as anyone that she is a witch. There is a quiet magic in the little things we do.

A Rainy Afternoon Spent Reading
Raindrops gently tap against the window, creating a soothing rhythm. You sit on your favorite couch, wrapped in a thick blanket, lost in the pages of a nostalgic novel. A scented candle flickers beside you, filling the air with a calming lavender aroma.

This is my first post on TheStoryTrail, a place where I’ll share my love for books and the stories that shape my days. Every day, I find comfort in the pages I read, and through these posts, I’ll be keeping a journal of my journey.
In the warm glow of a library on a winter afternoon, where the scent of old books mixes with the crisp air outside, I found a special kind of magic. Books, those quiet friends, open up worlds where heroes are made, hearts are healed, and hope shines bright.
Every book holds a secret, every chapter an adventure. The soft rustle of turning pages and the gentle creak of an old chair are the comforting sounds of stories waiting to be discovered.
For those who wander the aisles, running their fingers over the titles, and pause to read the first lines: we share the same wonder.
Libraries aren’t just buildings—they are cozy havens. And books? They are the sparks that warm our hearts in the chill of winter.
Welcome to TheStoryTrail. I can’t wait to share this journey with you.

Today I finished: Dune (Herbert, 1965)
"You deliberately cultivate this air, this bravura, " she charged. "You never cease indoctrinating."
"Thus you yourself taught me, " he said.
[I'll probably not write at such length when I finish my other books, unless they take me on a journey such as this.]
It took me a while to get into this. This seems to be common among people unfamiliar with the books/movies. Once I pushed past the first 20-30 pages, I was hooked. I loved this book. It was wild. It was unsettling. It was grand.
For first time readers I would say, read the appendixes at the back of the book and utilize the glossary! They really helped me understand and keep going when I found all the new information of the first pages were overwhelming. I also watched a trailer from the first movie just to familiarize myself with the vernacular. lol

My personal collection of cozy winter novels to get you in the mood for the holidays!
Tumblr media
Yes I am one of those people who comes November it’s over for you fall bitches (don’t get me wrong I love fall and psl season is always something I look forward to). But to get in the right mood for the holidays, this is the books I tend to rotate towards to:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
The book is just so cozy and filled with adventures. I can really immerse myself in the magical universe that Rowling has created. The Christmas scene always gets me excited: when Harry wakes up not thinking he had gotten any gifts at all, to be showered with gifts and love from the people he has befriended at Hogwarts.
Little Women
“Christmas won’t be Christmas without any presents!” The novel starts with Christmas and ends with Christmas, what more to love?!
The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe
Set in a winter wonderland with antopomorphic animals and the appearance of Santa?! This book should be a must read on this list!
Northern Lights
It’s honestly just the winter vibes and armoured icebears that makes me see this is a winter-holiday book, but that’s still valid right?!
The Bear And The Nightinggale
Set in medieval Russia: this is not only a winter-cozy novel but a fairytale retelling of pagan Russia that meets Christianity! It’s filled with magical- and fairytale beings from Russian folklore!
Feel free to comment some more recommendations!💕
Happy reading!
Tumblr media
(A/N: I know that some of these books may not suit all tastes and this is just my personal recommendation. I pray that the comment section stays nice nonetheless how you feel towards these books and/or authors. I will always separate the art from the artist and I take no political holdings for what authors may stand for #booktwtanxiety)
