For just a moment he thought that it was too sweet a moment for him to be awake or that perhaps this was all a pleasant dream, but more and more he came to awareness to realize the ache in his back from sleeping on such an uncomfortable surface. He had slept late. That was very unlike him. A bad time to start such a bad habit too. Perhaps being on the run the way that they were was starting to take its toll. "I apologize." Sitting up his bones and joints popped unpleasantly, and he cringed inwardly. Yes, he was getting old. "We should have been on the move by now."

"Codladh sámh, Zireael." He exhaled slowly and stared up at the ceiling for a time. Sliding a hand into the collar of his robes he brushed over a scar near his collarbone to recall a memory. A dimeritium tipped arrow long ago when he had ridden out in a hopeless attempt to save Lara. He suspected that it was the way that Lara and Cregennan had been killed. While he may not have been able to save Lara he had managed to save Ciri and that had made all the difference. She had given him a new purpose and she confirmed that she cared for him the way he cared for her. With that comforting thought in mind, he fell asleep easily despite the uncomfortable circumstance. Tomorrow they would move on from here.

There were a hundred different reactions he could have had in that moment, some more effective than others. The shock of the circumstance didn’t allow much room for careful scrutiny, prime instinct [and his natural aversion to mankind] guiding his hand more than anything.

His anger was withheld by a thread rapidly fraying at the edges, pinched closed by the lack of insight on what exactly transpired there. He should be more alarmed that things were a little fuzzy. But he'd never been one to slow down from a mad pursuit. There were a lot of feelings waging war on his heart. Under the circumstances, he knew, logically, there wasn’t any one solitary thing he could do to bring himself down from on high. There wasn’t any way for him to identify one feeling over another and he wasn’t going to even try to do that right then. If he allowed his mind to wander, there may not be any bringing it back. 

He rose to his feet, looking down the dull, dark and dank tunnels that made up that dusty place. An abandoned network of pipes that led throughout the ol town resting in peace above.

"What brings you here?" Of all the odd places to find a human... "How do you know I'm not the villain you've been searching for?"

If you've been here for a LONG time you might have seen that art akshwkhsiqjwj (if you haven't been here for long...yeah, I made this au like 2(almost 3) years ago and then I abandoned it... BUT IT'S BACK AND IT'S ACTUALLY A COMIC NOW)

I changed the scene a lot because honestly it made no sense????WHY DID THEY HAVE AXES???? WHERE???? HOW?? That's bothering me so much

And like, I realized it didn't need to be complicated, sometimes simple things work better and are smarter!! ;]

Honestly it's good that I started the comic now, cause I draw so much faster and also the story is way more clear in my adult mind hehe
