Hey guys!

Today I'm gonna do something different...

An analysis of the translation of the Japanese memories, so let's get started!

This is all thanks to @mochilorddrakeinferno, who compiled all this data into a folder. I'll have a very pleasant read thanks to you :)

It should be noted that these are all my assumptions and my ideas, so I invite you to create your own =)

Memory 1:

Japanese:

Blumiere (narrating): “That day… That room was warm and calm. Complete tranquility.”

Blumiere: “U-Urgh…” Timpani: “You’re awake…?”  Blumiere: “Where… am I? Is this… a human’s home…? Gah!” Timpani: “Don’t move. I found you unconscious beneath the cliffs. You must have fallen.” Blumiere: “You’re human, aren’t you? Do I not frighten you? I’m from the Tribe of Darkness…” Timpani: “What are you talking about? You can’t just ignore someone when they're injured, right?” Blumiere (narrating): “That was the day we first met… It was also… When tragedy began to unfold…”

So, first of all, the way that Blumiere

The way Blumiere narrated at the beginning gives us to understand that the place where Timpani was taking care of him gave him a feeling of peace and security, perhaps unlike his own familiar environment. 

Besides, Timpani in his next dialogue says "cliffs" in plural, perhaps giving us the idea that the tribe of darkness created those cliffs to separate themselves from the human world.

I also feel like this point is lost by the impact of Tippi’s words, as here she simply assumes that anyone with common sense would help him, whereas the American version shows that a person with a heart shouldn’t ignore someone who is hurt. And this point is something that is developed later on in the game, precisely when the Count Bleck appears to the heroes in Chapter 6-2, as it shows how much he has fallen into despair over his loss and how at that point in the game, he says that the heart is useless, as if to somehow negate what Timpani told him here.

In this case I'll stick with the American version.

Memory 2

Japanese:

Timpani: “You’re late… Did something happen?”

Blumiere: “My father saw me trying to leave the castle, so it took me a while to do so…” 

Timpani: “…I thought you might not have come. I was a little worried.”

Blumiere: “You’re a strange one… Are you not afraid of meeting with someone from the Tribe of Darkness?” 

Timpani: “None of that matters to me… I just wanted to see you… Is that… wrong?”

Blumiere: “No, not at all… I wanted to see you too…”

Timpani: “Blumiere… May I sit next to you?”

Blumiere: “Of course, Timpani. Let’s continue our conversation from before. I want to know even more about you…”

At the beginning of the Japanese version, it seems that Blumiere’s father “punished” him in some way, and that Blumiere rebelled against him, just to see Timpani. And then, it seems that Timpani was really worried about him, maybe because it’s not the first time this has happened, as if she knew the threat that Blumiere’s father represents, instead, the English version shows Timpani’s fear that his love is not reciprocated, that he was going to stand up her. 

And then, in the Japanese version, it is shown as if Blumiere knew that his tribe is dangerous and is surprised that Timpani would want to see him, despite what that entails. And in the English version, along these same lines, the difference with the Japanese version is shown, because, it seems more that she says it because of her physical appearance, as if emphasizing the dividing line that exists between them: “You are a strange girl… You know what I am and yet you don’t seem to be afraid.” 

But, as Timpani answers him, it is clear that she does not care at all about that barrier, and questions if that is SO bad to break the rules of their tribes to not see each other. In Japanese, this same line shows that Timpani does not mind taking the risks involved in seeing a member of the tribe of darkness, and there is more of a romantic side since she wanted to see him, and she questions if those rules are so important that they could not see each other. 

And what Blumiere answers in the next scene shows that he is more rooted in his customs, and sees it from a more technical side, if it is wrong, but, deep down he feels that it is okay, because he also wanted to see her; his mind tells him it's wrong, but his heart tells him otherwise. And in English, Blumiere's romantic side is seen.

But now, in the next expression that Timpani says: "Do you mind if I sit next to you" and "Can I sit next to you" there is a clear difference. In the first one it seems that Timpani wants to know if Blumiere accepts her, and if he has the same conviction of wanting to know each other better. And in the Japanese version, it seems Timpani wants to emphasize that despite their obvious differences, she asks for permission to connect with Blumiere on a deeper level. 

Now, what Blumiere says in English clearly shows their mutual interest and how he is somehow desperate to get to know her more. And in the other version, you can see how he has paid attention to her and is eager to get to know even more this girl who has captivated him and also that their past conversations have been very meaningful to him.

Some other differences I saw in the Japanese version, in general, of this memoir, is that both communicate with many ellipses, showing in a more direct way the romantic tension; as if both think a lot about their answers because they want to be liked by the other. They seem more nervous, but at the same time more convinced.

Here I think I'd lean more towards the Japanese version. But tell me what you think. And wait for the analysis of the other memories. Ciao!

Haven't got through the realis episodes yet but just that the text is meant to be a game written in setting from a single and biased perspective, and Austin saying he'd be interested in doing further stuff from another in-setting perspective.

I am now captivated by the possibility (or impossibility) of Bug Realis. Explicitly how would you rewrite Realis if you were trying to play it as a bug, or even a swarm of bugs, who live under an imperialist state?

Hypercollaborative storytelling? Crowd play? The stronger your sentence the more people have to say it- and the saying of it allows them to change it mid sentence? This is nothing but I'm having fun here.

It's like how you get communist or capitalist rewrites of board games, but the ideology presented is "it's sick as hell to be a ginormous insect and/or multiple large bugs."

This isn't so much a question as it is a thank you for doing the things you do.

Breaking down my barriers, and working towards filling the once much larger gaps of knowledge; and unlearning the shame and repression I was raised with was and is a helluva process.

It's been immensely helpful being able to read your posts, your answers to others in similar boats to mine. It's kind of embarrassing how much I've historically been...almost afraid to resarch and learn.

I still find myself on incognito tabs, but that's still gotta be better than not seeking new knowledge at all.

So, thanks, for being both a source of knowledge/source of....I guess, normalization is the best word I can find.

PJO Triton headcanons

Triton embodiying the dutyful son and heir of Poseidon makes sense and him being very proud of it too! But I just want to find a fic where Poseidon and Triton have a fluffy moment together

Because I headcanon hard that Triton puts a lot of pressure on himself to be the perfect son almost. At least, that's how I imagine him (but I'm still resarching lol), and with Percy around canonically he feels jealous because of Poseidon's clear favoritism *which i reject in my personal canon*

I feel like this guy would need a break and actually have some fun with his family (seafam siblings fluff)

Being the first born he would always want to take care of everyone but sort of forget himself in the process.

Good big brother but sometimes has a hard time showing his love and comes off as harsh

I can imagine his relationship with Poseidon being a bit angsty sometimes

He has extremely ticklish fins *Which Poseidon used to tickle a lot when he was a child…. And still does when Triton seems too serious for his liking*

Amphitrite thinks it’s the cutest thing ever. And she also takes advantage of it when she’s in a playful mood.

He almost never calls Poseidon « Papa » compared to his other siblings but only « Father ». The only times he does call him « Papa » is when he feels like Poseidon is disappointed in him.

He hates disappointing his father like it kills him inside.

He’s an amazing big brother to every single one of his siblings, even Percy. He comes off as cold and quite mean but he’s actually very sweet and patient, once you get to know him.

He’s overall a very kind guy but he tends to overwork himself and hold himself to such high standards that when he fails, his self esteem takes a hit. And he needs someone to tell him it’s okay to relax, take a break and ask for help.

The reason why Triton is so possessive over his conch shell is because Poseidon gave to him when he turned the equivalent of 16 in human years and he started to give him more responsibilities as a prince.

It’s kind of like the embodiment of his father’s pride in him so he protects it with all his might

Triton loves having his tail and scales scratched but he’ll only allow his family to do it, mainly Poseidon and Amphitrite.

Sometimes Poseidon will find Triton in their lounging area and he will sit beside him and put his tail into his lap and pet it and scratch his scales and Triton purrs in contentment and it’s adorable 🥰 it’s probably kind of like someone scratching your hair I think!

WTF IS THAT - Monkey Rambling/Theory time

I was rewatching some old scenes for *cough*,

(resarch for a really long theory)(My hyperfixation is the only thing kepping me alive at this point, please help)

AND I SAW THAT, BECAUSE I HADNT NOTICED THAT.

So, i immedatly turned to my friend @lu-zijing, and started a theory spree.(Im so sorry, zijing-)

But then, luckily, she came with an answer:

"What if it is his clones?", And holy shit, she is right.

So... i started building onto that theory, more specifically on what that would mean for future battles in the show. ESPICALLY FOR THE "MK GOING APESHIT SCENE" WE ARE NERVOUSLY WAITING FOR.

Imagine if they, like in the "Duplication" ep, start getting their own personalitys, the more MK uses them! And these "clones" arent small either! They are way bigger than Azure in that scene!! Thoughs clones are probaly the same height of smaller mountains!

The Clones would absolutly take over/destroy the city!! Like... all the past villians in earlier seasons!

THIS WOULD NOT HELP MK, WITH HIS GUILT COMPLEX!

I've never posted or reblogged anything at all ever because I didn't see the point and I find the thought so scary. This is like my safe space - and exept from sending an anonymous ask sometimes (It was not until quite recently I had the courage to and felt safe enough to do so.) - I kind of don't want anyone to see me. But now I am considering to start reblogging posts that I like instead of just liking them. Because I've seen a lot of posts recently about how important it is for fandom and tumblr itself.

I know that there's probably a lot of posts out there about how to use tumblr, but do you have any tips about how/where to start? And can you go back and write tags on your post after you have posted them or is that impossible?

Hi anon! Sorry for the late response. First thank you for sending your ask, the last part of your message make my day, I really need it that. I think is amazing you had find the courage to send asks and interest to reblog content that is wonderful. This is a long post so answering below resources of how to tumblr and tutorials:

I totally understand the feeling of just wanting to see content, I was a lurker for months before I really have the motivation to start being active and it can feel intimidating sometimes because is not something we used to do, but with time you start to feel comfortable.

For resources here are some:

1.This post explains some basics of how to tumblr, how to use the tags, some suggestion in your profile and just general recommendations of how to behave on tumblr.

2.For personalize your blog: I recommend this post of making your dash in chronological order and this one about shorter posts. Also how to put some basic info in your bio (I will said that you don't need to put some much details of you, not even your name depending of how much you are comfortable to share, but the basic is just changing your profile pic and put some info like what you like or something along those lines so people know you are not a bot).

3. For using gifs in posts this is very useful.

4. How to find a post.

5. Protect your blog from AI resarch propouse.

6. I like this post reflecting on the reblogs, how your blog is a space to collect your shiny fandom objects. I see it as like my dairy of the fandom, post and reblog what you like to have this as a memory.

7. In case you want to make a post but don't want anyone to reblog your post.

My advice on how to tumblr:

1.Curate your own experience: Follow the people that you enjoy their content, filter the tags that you are not interested to see (I will put below how to), in case you keep seeing content for someone you disagree and don't like unfollow or block them.

2. You can reblog without the need to write tags or you can write tags, that is up to you.

3. Always be kind and if you don't like a post don't engage with it, ignore it.

4. Enjoy! Tumblr is to have fun, the moment that starts to not being fun, reflect of what you need to enjoy it or put some boundaries that you need so it doesn't affect you.

5. Don't overthink it. It feels very intimidating when everyone has their own mutual bubble but this is a very welcoming fandom if you follow people that you enjoy.

6. Try not to worry so much about follows, likes and reblogs. People come and go, you stay true to yourself regardless of who follows you or don't, is hard to get someone to follow you especially at the beginning but just try to focus on your blog and having fun.

7. Don't be afraid to interact, send asks, or talk in the tags, people enjoy it as long as your are kind. I will also say don't spam the asks hehe, if you want to share your thought make your own posts as well.

8. If you are a creator: In case you want to create something and share things do it for yourself and no one else. Is hard to get people to see yor posts but still don't lose the joy to share content regardless if people see it or not. I will add that for post of your own creation add tags so more people see it, for example if is about louis put the tag #louis tomlinson (there are also some especific tags that other blogs follow to reblog creators let me know if you want them).

Tutorial:

-Filter tags: This is super useful to not see content that either you are not interested or is triggering. First you go to Settings>Account

After this you go to the part Filter Tags and click on the edit icon on the right.

It appear a space where you can write the word or words to filter, when you are done you click on add.

After that it will show you this:

You can add filter tags as much as you want or remove them in case you need it. On your dashboard the filter content will appear like this:

Only if you click on view post you will see the content otherwise it will always look like that the filter tags. The only problem is when people don't use tags so you can't filter those posts.

-How to edit tags: About your question on edit the tags after, you can totally go back and add tags after. Here is how:

This is a post of a reblog I made, in the right corner there is a icon of a pencil that means you can edit, tap there.

It will show you either your tags or the post without tags:

You start writing in the add tags. The trick for the tags is that you write your word or phrase and to end your tag you tap the # that will automatically save that tag and let you go to the next one (there is a limit of words for each tag but you can still write in the next tag). When you finish you click on save and your tags will be save.

And because my brain is half a meme a funny post about reblogging.
