Hey everyone, I know this blog has been pretty quiet for the past month. I can't say when I'll return regularly to uploading videos and making new posts, but today I wanted to share something special with you. 

My twin sister @brightideathepunny launched a GoFundMe campaign for her (boyfriend's) sweet kitty cat Fiona and her emergency medical expenses, cuz she had an asthma attack a couple months ago and vet bills ain't cheap. Towards that end, she came up with a fun parody song + music video celebrating Fiona, and asked me to spread the word among my sizable following. 

Please check her video out, donate if you're able and/or share the video with all your friends who appreciate parody songs / cat videos / charitable causes. Spread it on whatever social media you like, see how far it goes. I want this to be the one that makes my sister go viral!

The "Alphabet Song"!

Here's a video I made 12 years ago, to prove that point.

The first two times I sang it through, it's the "right" melody (aka "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star") but the "alphabetical order" is scrambled. The third verse is in the right order, but it's sung to the tune of "Three Blind Mice."

Please forgive my wobbly voice, and less than ideal microphone; I was working with what I had (lyrics on screen).

After the first verse, are these words (silent): "If at first you don't succeed..." After the second verse: "Third time's a charm (I hope)?" After the last verse: "You know what? I need a nap. ... I'll see you later."

Since I posted some of my old fanart yesterday... if you're not familiar with Slayers, and thus have never heard its amazing music, do check it out. It's largely by the same songwriter, Masami Okui, that did Utena's iconic opening (Rinbu Revolution) and ofc (TRUTH) and sung by a duo of her and Hayashibara Megumi (you know, the GOAT)

The entire OST pretty much slaps. there's only a couple of bad image songs in an absolute expanse of pure gold. GIVE A REASON, the opening to the second season, tends to be the reigning favorite. (I've a hard time pinning down my absolute favorite... of the original openings, it might be Breeze, but all three are so good. Of the entire catalog? Impossible to choose. Midnight Blue, Raging Waves, Within my Unlimited Desires, Gloria, Get Along... Impossible Choice)

Mashle: Magic and Muscles Original Drama CD: Mo Mo Tarou

This drama CD was bundled with the third blu-ray/DVD volume of Mashle's first season. Basically, it's Mashle's main five characters in a Momotarou alternate universe.

Mash as Mo Mo Tarou (he also sang the parodied version of Momotarou song in this drama CD)

Dot as the Monkey

Lemon as the Ogre

Momotarou itself is a well-known traditional Japanese folklore centered around a boy who was born from a peach. For more information about Momotarou folklore, check here. You can also read the original Momotarou story here.

Each volume of the first season's blu-ray/DVD is accompanied by an exclusive illustration about this alternate universe, drawn by series creator Hajime Komoto. This one is from the first volume.
