I'm in animation school rn and although its a very good school i often feel like i actually learnt more by myself or by working with friends,,, (that's a structural problem tho)

Before that tho i watched a lot of art youtube, mostly ethan becker and sinix design... the videos might be a lil old tho...

I dont know a lot of how to draw books but i love looking at animated movies artbooks and finding those artists online,,, the spiderverse one is a classic,, i'm really fond of the tangled one and i recently recieved the art of ponyo... Banger....

More generic advice i give to people who want to get better is to draw more life drawing, get a little sketchbook that fits in your pocket and anytime you're waiting in the bus or in line or whatever draw what you see,,, (forcing myself to draw with a pen and without being able to erase rlly helped with line confidence aswell,,)

And also to get out of your comfort zone! Change your medium! change your technique! change your line quality! change your artstyle! Change your subject! Be scared! Do stuff you think you're gonna suck at!! Learn perspective! Do caricatures! Use a bigger brush! Look at your art and figure out what it is you're avoiding to draw and draw that.

My fave discworld book is Monstrous Regiment - followed by Small Gods and Feet of Clay. Have you dipped into those characters yet? (obviously not meaning the Feet of Clay cast bc you’ve done amazing City Watch cast designs) I’d love to see your take on Brutha, Vorbis and Om or Polly & the other soldiers if you haven’t yet.
