This is probably going to be a long one. It turns out that ever since I discovered btd 1 and 2, and tpof, I've always been really curious about Ren's character. I imagine that just like me, people must have been surprised to see how he had become in Tpof. I'm SO excited for Ykmet! I know this game is mainly focused on Strade, because of course his name is there! XD

I love him too, but I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the parts with Ren. I know about the changes that Gato has prepared for him, and I hope they're positive, I trust what she's doing.

Anyway! I think I've gone on too long. The thing is, since I finished Tpof, I haven't found many people who give analysis to the older Ren character. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place, but I always thought tumblr was the best place to look, because the fandom seems more active here.

There were many things I didn't understand, because I'm terrible at analyzing, I try, but I constantly feel like I end up overthinking, my head always tries to provide several explanations like A, B, C, D, and it goes beyond that.

From your perspective, opinions and thoughts on the DLC, what do you think people often miss about Fox? Something you noticed that some people probably didn't. I would particularly like to know about your interpretation of the ending. Yes, I know it's straightforward and clear, he saves us. But I've always wondered about his motivations. I think that conversation we have with him in the bunker affects him, but in what way? What are his thoughts? And what are his thoughts about us after that?

I constantly noticed that he was also always adjusting his posture in his streams, and in the third one when he bites and then licks the wound on Mc's neck, then he looks almost embarrassed. Was it just because he got too excited or was it something else that i didn't catch because im too stupid? lmao

I'll end the ask here or it will be too long, I apologize for that, and if I didn't manage to express my questions very well

(although, if you answer this, I hope it's okay if I ask a bit more)

I think Fox has built this new version of himself based on being in control. He used to be a captive, always weary of Strade, and then trying and failing to be in control of MC in btd2 (who either died or escaped, given that this is Ren’s darker path). After that, he wanted to be in control for once.

He runs the entire auction system, he has his own show, and he’s incredibly good at what he does. That security not only makes him confident in what he does now, but it makes him finally like who he is (at least, he thinks.)

Young Ren was struggling a lot with his image and self worth, in terms of being treated as a pet/property, being abused, and then convincing himself that it was all because Strade loved him. Those years affected his mind so much. When his plan with MC went wrong after the second game, I think he realized that he should have been following Strade’s advice more. He fell back into that mental state of idolizing Strade and his way of doing things, his way of thinking. Why would Ren try anything else? Of course Strade was right. (This is the wrong idea, sadly, but it must have been the conclusion he turned to.)

It started as him trying to follow the footsteps of the only person he’d ever had to look up to— Strade. That’s why he started doing shows, because Strade was successful and Ren wanted to follow his example. He was also swayed a lot by emotion, the loneliness he felt and the emptiness he has after Strade’s death. Continuing his legacy was a way to fill the void, at least a little. He also needed money sooner or later.

Over time, he started to make it his own. He started to think less about Strade and more about himself. By the time we see Fox, he’s pretty much moved on from Strade. He does it as his own show, in his own name, his own life.

He is a great showman, naturally. That’s where the posture, gestures, and lively way he talks comes from. He knows how to entertain an audience, and he’s spent years perfecting that skill. He does enjoy the shows, to an extent. But remember, when MC asks him why he does this? Because he’s good at it.

He does like the feeling of being in the spotlight, and entertaining an audience— but his answer wasn’t because it’s his passion, not because he likes being in power, but because he’s good at it.

He’s accustomed to it.

The thing I think people miss is that Fox still has that unsure feeling inside. Deep down, he likes you. And he wants to keep you. But the show must go on! He likes who he is now, and he has to perform for chat. Like I said, it started out as ‘that’s what Strade would have done’ when he was younger, but now he’s moved on from Strade and just become so conditioned to it that he doesn’t know how to break the cycle. It’s how the show goes: he tortures someone, does what chat wants, gets paid, and they die in the end. That’s how it’s always gone. But what about when he grows attached?

An Easter egg to prove my point:

Middle picture, third row down He literally hurts himself for letting you go, because he’s realized he likes you, but he doesn’t know how to deny chat. (this happens when you make all the wrong choices when he visits you in the bunker before show 3. Making all the right choices will result in the survival ending.)

That’s why the survival ending is so critical to his character— he did something for himself. Because he wanted to. It’s a sign of him breaking free, and realizing that he can be in charge.

MC’s dialogue choices are important there too. When he tells MC their fate is up to chat, and you say “I thought you were in charge?” It makes him stop and think. You set things in motion for him. That leads you to the ending where he saves you.

As for when he licks the blood on your neck, I think he got a little flustered because he let his animal side show/let his composure fall a bit. A big part of these shows is the power imbalance between him and the victim, and he always puts on a front of being more put together than they are.

But yeah, that’s my mini analysis on Fox. There’s so much more to his character, but that’s for a later date ;) You’re always welcome to ask more!

Summary: Ever since Bella came back to Forks things between y/n and her boys have been different. Embry and Quil stopped answering phone calls and texts, they’ve even been avoiding her everytime she shows up at their house. So y/n does the only thing she can think to do, she latches onto Jacob just like Bella, and when he starts acting like Embry and Quil did, she makes the decision to not put so much effort into a friendship that is clearly one sided. But what happens one day when Sam’s pack is in town at the same time as y/n and her new friends and two certain boys imprint on their former best friend? And what happens when a former best friend doesn’t feel the same way?

Author’s Note: Hello to everyone that is reading this! This is my first ever time writing a fanfic, so (if you’re reading this) go easy on me. I would love to hear any feedback anyone might have in the comments. Super excited to be writing this Twilight fic, I’ve been inspired by others authors on here to take my own spin with Stephaine Myers characters, none of which I have any ownership to. This doesn’t really follow the Eclipse movie timeline, I'm making things up and stretching the timeline. So this is basically my own story just using Stephanie’s characters and some of her themes. There are also some other characters in here that I don’t have any rights to, I just thought it would be fun to put them in this story. Things had been weird lately, with Bella back in Forks, the Cullens, and your friends on the reservation. It seemed like everyday more and more of your friends were leaving to go hang out with Sam Uley and his pack of assholes. Now it was just down to you, Embry, Quil, and Jacob. It’s not like you’re not fine with that, Embry and Quil were your best friends ever. So you were fine with just the four of you hanging out all the time. But they got so hostile of you whenever Edward or one of his siblings came around to talk to you or Bella.

It was getting absolutely exhausting trying to mediate things between them. You didn’t want to have to choose between your boys or Bella, but if it came down to it, your choice would always be your family and by extension, the Cullens. Although it seemed like you wouldn’t be getting a choice anyways when Embry and Quil stopped answering your texts and calls. They were never home when you came to visit and see what was happening to them. You had even tried asking Jacob if he knew anything but he swore up and down that he had no idea.

You never expected to see them hanging out with Sam and his pack, jumping off that stupid cliff. You had never felt more betrayed. They could do whatever they wanted to but it hurt that they felt the need to drop you, without any kind of explanation and go hang out with the few people (at least you thought) you mutually disliked. It was obvious that they weren’t going to talk to you anymore so you did the only thing you could think of, you left them one last voicemail in hopes to get through to them.

“Hey, it’s me. Um, I know we haven’t talked in a while, but I still miss you guys. I saw you the other day, hanging out with Sam and his boys. It’s fine, I guess. I just thought that we were better friends than that. I mean, we’ve been inseparable since we were 6 but that’s not really the point of why I called.” You took a deep breath, trying to stop yourself from rambling some more. “I don’t really understand why you started hanging out with Sam but you have free will so I can’t stop you. But I miss you guys, and I still want to be friends. I don’t want to permanently lose you both because I can’t get over this petty dislike I have. So, call me back. Please. I want to talk about everything, but if you truly want nothing to do with me anymore then I won’t bother you again. This is goodbye, then.”

2 months later

Life wasn’t the easiest thing anymore. The boys never called you back, which you expected but it still stung. You still had Jacob, but it wasn’t the same. Jacob knew how much Embry and Quil’s choice had affected you, but there wasn’t much he could do to help you. He couldn’t just tell you that they were werewolves. So he did his best to try and raise your spirits. You were wholeheartedly grateful you had him during this time.

Bella wasn’t much help either, she had just been broken up with and she was rotting away in her room. It appeared as though life was hating the Swan girls right now. As much as you wanted to wallow in your own pity you knew you had to be there for Bella. It’s not like the kids from school were going to help her, and honestly Bella wouldn’t want them to. So you spent months trying to help Bella, you didn’t want to lose your sister too.

“Please, Bells. Just talk to me, tell me what’s going on in your head. I’ll do anything to help you, you just have to tell me. Tell me what I can do for you, I want to take all this pain away. I know this isn’t about me or dad but we’re so scared for you Bells. We love you so much.” You plead with her. Tears welled up in your eyes when she turned away from you and went back to looking out of her window. You walked out of her room before she could see or hear you start to cry.

“Whoa, slow down there kid. What’s happening?” Charlie stopped you in the hallway. His hands gripped your shoulders as they shook with silent sobs.

“I can’t watch her wither away like that dad. She’s changing so much, and I don’t know how to help her. I hate Edward for what he’s putting her through and he’s not even here.” You spoke through your tears. Hiccuping in between every breath you took.

“Y/n,” Charlie whispered, cupping your cheeks and making you look up at him, “We will get her through all of this okay kid? You and me will bring our Bella back. I know it.” He assured you as genuinely as he could. Truth be told, he had no idea if he would be able to get his daughters back to the girls they were before all this happened. He was grateful that you seemed to be okay so soon after the Embry and Quil situation. He didn’t know what he would do if both of his kids were nervous wrecks he couldn’t console.

You nodded at him instead of answering back. You knew he was just trying to make you feel better. As much as you wanted to stay and keep trying with Bella you had to go to school. You couldn’t miss any more days this week or you would fall too far behind.

After getting dressed you head downstairs where you say goodbye to your dad and meet Jacob who’s waiting for you outside. Lately he has taken to riding with you to school and then walking back to the reservation afterwards so you weren’t alone in the mornings. It was also a way for him to keep an eye on you and Bella.

“You know, you don’t have to keep doing this Jake, I’m perfectly okay with getting to school by myself.” You told him today. It has been on your mind for a little while now.

“I know,” he chuckles, “but I like to. Sometimes I don’t want to be alone in the morning so I make you suffer and force my presence on you. You’re going to have to get used to it.” Jacob simply shrugged.

You get quiet after that and it worries him, but before he can ask you what’s wrong you beat him to it

“If you ever want to be friends with Sam and everyone else, please don’t cut me off too. I don’t think I could handle that.” Your hands grip the steering wheel tighter as you pull up to a red light. You can’t bring yourself to look over at him, as you not so patiently wait for his answer.

“Y/n/n, I will never abandon you to be friends with Sam and his pack of douchebags. Okay? It's you and me against the world now.” He says in such a loving tone that it brings tears to your eyes for the second time that day. “Oh god, please don’t cry. I totally didn’t mean for that to happen.”

Watching him panic while he tries to get you to stop crying does the trick, and you start to giggle at him. The rest of the drive to your school is silent with the occasional sing along moment to whatever is playing on the radio. When you finally arrive at school you're in a much better mood.

You say goodbye to Jacob and head into the building, putting on your headphones and turning the volume all the way up. Someone knocks into you from the side sending your phone and headphones sliding across the floor.

“Oh my god. I’m so freaking sorry!” Apologizes spill from the mystery boy's mouth as his friend, the one who pushed him into you, hurries to gather your things. He turns around to his friend on the floor and hisses out “Dude. What the hell??”

It wasn’t surprising that you had to clue who these boys were. When you were friends with Embry and Quil you didn't really talk to the people you go to school with. “It’s fine.” You shrugged it off, not wanting to create a problem with these two.

“No, its not fine. I totally didn't mean to smash into you. Scott’s just an asshole.” The boy throws his friend, Scott, under the bus. “I’m Stiles by the way.”

“I didn't mean to push him into you miss, I didn't even see you there.” Scott pipes in, before quickly realizing what he said. “OH! I didn't mean I didn't see you at all, like you're just hard to see. Cause you’re not hard to miss. Not that you're always in the way! I've never seen you before so… I'm going to stop talking now.” Scott sheepishly tugs at the collar of his shirt. He seems to be sweating now. The incredulous look on your face seems to shut him up well enough for his friend, Stiles, to get a word in.

“Wow dude, that was bad.” He’s trying to hold back his laughter now. “I think what he's trying to say is that he was so preoccupied with being an asshat that he wasn't paying attention to our surroundings.” Stiles says it a lot more eloquently than Scott had and it makes you giggle.

They both stare at you like you've grown a second head. “That was the worst apology I have ever heard in my entire life.” You state after getting ahold of your laughter. “I’m y/n. I accept your terrible apology, and it's okay that you haven't seen me around before, because to be honest. I've never seen either of you around before either.”

They let out a breath of relief and apologize one more time, sounding more coherent and sincere this go around. Scott proceeds to ask you what you have for the first period and surprisingly you have the same class as them, so you all walk to your class talking and getting to know each other. When you get to class you part ways to your seats with plans to meet after class.

Your class schedules were pretty similar, especially yours and Stiles. In the classes you and Stiles shared you decided to move seats and sit next to each other, getting in trouble a few times for talking too much. You were getting along with him so well that he invited you to sit with him and his friends at lunch. And since you didn't have any other plans you took him up on his offer.

When lunch time rolls around Stiles follows you to your locker where you get your food before heading to the cafeteria to meet up with his friends. The table quiets down when the two of you approach. “Y/n these are my friends: Lydia, Allison, Issac, Liam, Malia, Kira, and you've already met Scott.” One by one his friends say hello and introduce themselves to you. This wasn’t at all how you thought it was going to go. You assumed that they would only give you a cursory hi and go back to their conversations, but they seemed genuinely interested in getting to know you.

gender netural reader as always. slight mention of choji if you squint. thinking about our siren wbrk talk with mari again so have this... i forgot i wrote this during my tumblr break LMAO

when you first meet the siren with emerald eyes and silky hair, you find yourself too immersed in his captivating looks that you forget why youve been staring in the first place.

he is an odd one, not a man, but one.

it's not everyday for people in your line of... business to be running into his kind, although there has been a suspicious increase in their activity, but this one piques your interest entirely and completely.

recent news about a blond siren causing havoc, all fangs and feral, already off your mind, you approach the odd one on a day neither too cloudy nor sunny- just ideal, just perfect.

pleas and concerns your crew has voiced already gone, falling on deaf ears, you approach the creature, not captivated, nor enhanced-- that is, if you dont count fascination with curiosity as a subclass of that.

you're not fazed by his lack of surprise, but make a mental note when you notice he's not the talkative type.

his kind is bold, loud and clear, showing themselves off, "hello world, i am here, see me and feed me." or that's what the widely accepted opinion of them is.

as you draw closer, you spot he is not alone on the broad rocks and rubbles. seals who exchange equally confused gazes with one another stare at you and him, taking his stance as no danger posing.

it feels weird, to have finally reached the object of your goals for the past months. long days and nights of spotting this siren that is not like any other and now here you are, face to face with him. no longer just exchanged glances by the small window of your cabin that you were certain you made up in your head.

resting his chest against his palm, he wears a smug yet gentle expression. you're unsure if it's the eyes that make it genuine or the curled up corner of his mouth that makes it cocky.

by the time you'll know him as togame and more than just an 'odd one out' of his species, it won't take you many conversations, but it'll take a long time. such as the fate of being a feeble human on a ship and a feared creature of the sea.

getting onto the edge of the rock, you take one step further, resting your elbow there, mirroring his position as you rest your chin against your fist.

"so, what has gotten a beast like you tied down to a bunch of rocks? tired of us already?"

you're odd, togame thinks. normally sailors detest his species- if they can get over their fear. anyone within their peak form would be killing for this opportunity, to capture one, get years long revenge and so on.

instead, you approach him like a sailor to a maiden back on land, after eyeing her up all night, paying for her drinks across the pub...

smiling coyly, you wait, your gaze never wavering, ignoring the odd colors in the back and the confused sounds the seals make.

"maybe it's because i've simply have something better to do." he says and you halt, "got my crew right here." he follows and watches as your smile drops, confusion taking over.

he counts, 1, 2, 3... 10 seconds it takes for your eyes to dart between the seals behind him and Togame himself- still confused, until your eyes land on shells and torn off pieces of coral spread on a flatter rock between all of them.

a game?.. you wonder, tossing what he said to the side for now, how it implies they attack simply because they're bored.

well, certainly the blond one is- at least from what you've seen, all his attacks on ships, he seems to be living off the thrill of it, not caring as long as he swims away freely at the end of the day.

"A game, then." you voice your guess, gathering your initial confidence. or maybe it's lack of care, Togame isn't sure of it just yet.

"hmmh" he hums in agreement, as he turns to exchange looks with the seals. "care to join? we can teach."

the whole exchange from start to finish feels off. distant in a corner with no one knowing your exact location- all you've learned so far, even if he said those intentionally or not, and you swear those seals are an endangered species in these waters- last seen at least a century ago.

so they come out just for him? or for all of them? the questions swarm your head, you don't even realize you've been leaning further and further, slowly, your expressions long gone, face now blank, try to decide on a dominating emotion to display.

he seems to take this as confusion and giggles. breaking his pose, he leans towards your direction and holds out his hand "no need to be afraid now, we don't bite."

and within these words alone, you know it deep down, simply and with your entire heart that he means it- no siren voice involved, no odd feelings rising.

maybe that's how they truly lure their victims. no magic voice behind it but simply their charms. yet you are ready to take your chances.

taking another step further, you take his hand and let him pull you up to the rock he's residing on, genuinely, innocently, to play a game.

Poll PAC: What Your Next Birthday Celebration Will Be Like 🎂🎉🎁

Sup y'all, welcome back to another PAC reading. This time I'm doing a special 1 year/birthday/poll topic of choice themed pick a card! This is also a special one as VitaminSee now has 300 followers! Holy crap thank you for your support everyone! I haven't been able to get on Tumblr for a while, so I apologize if it seems like I've dropped from the aether. Life is starting to enter its hectic phase right now! Thank you so much for your patience. Hello, pile 1! Your birthday is going to be the start of great expansion. Your first three oracle cards spell it out so clearly! Sagittarius is all about shooting for seemingly farfetched goals and striking the target anyway. There is so much growth going on in your pile. What's interesting about the Isolation card is that it shows two cups. There is meanwhile a Friendship card in this deck with only one cup. So I don't know if the words were swapped with the images or what, but the sense I get is that you will very likely be in good company during your birthday. They may want to take you out dancing (the Ace of Wands is reminding me of disco lights). However, even in the midst of the event, you may feel the urge to hide away from the crowd. I'm picturing someone stepping out of a house during a party. You may need to catch your breath at times in order to process the emotions you're experiencing, as you have a lot of energetic, lit up cards just before the five of cups.

Again, getting in dark negative moods is normal when you're facing a big new stage is not indicative that things will go wrong if it's something you know you're looking forward to. If you end up spending most of the day with friends, find some space to be at peace by yourself so you can even out your feelings. These intense moods will come and go on their own, so make sure to stay balanced (and not too overly caffeinated lol) on your birthday.

Ever get the feeling of wanting to sleep because life is overwhelmed and you're like, "I give up (for now)?" and call it a day? That means letting loved ones in your life, be they bio family or chosen family, understand that you'd rather have a small get together or a chance to rest every now and then if you're invited out somewhere. You may be doing a lot of transmuting on the inside, working through old stubborn patterns and limiting beliefs around this time. I'm seeing the ball of flame near the snow as if you're melting old self-sabotaging blockages away to make room for more growth in your coming year. This flame, this transmuting energy, is making way for the new to arrive.

The Hanged Man being tangled up in vines beneath a forest makes me think that you've been hung up on something that needs to be let go. You must prune in order to effectively grow. Too much in a small space can lead to cramming and confusion. You must deal with the thoughts tangling themselves up in your mind before cultivating the thoughts you want in their place. Changes may happen slowly on the outside, but when certain patterns are fully cleared out things can really take off.

So, for example, let's say you've wanted to sign up for a ceramics workshop for your birthday, or spend the day cleaning house (if you happen to find cleaning therapeutic). I run. I run as fast as I can. Why do I run, you might ask? I'm running because I've only got one day to complete the task I've been given: find a bag left outside of Dema by some Banditos when they escaped. Of course, it's no ordinary bag, otherwise it'd be silly to let a banal Dema resident as me go out like that. No. The bag contains potential information about a camp where rebels may have taken refuge, and given the intentions of Dema's top leaders, it could be the occasion to find them and take them back to the prison they thought they could leave so easily…

So I run, hoping in the back of my mind that I can save time to find a way to escape, without anyone suspecting a thing. I'm very efficient and serviable in the Dema community, so how could they suspect anything?

Anyway, let's focus on finding this bag first : I'm sure it could be helpful once I’ll be facing the unknown, all by myself.

The sound of my walkie-talkie seeking connection startled me. As I answer the call a few seconds later, an unfamiliar voice spoke to me.

"Hello Y/N. Hope you're not too tired already, because you still seem to be far away from your goal : anyway, here's the exact location of the bag. » The person didn’t seem to be friendly just by the way they talked.

I wrote down the information on my notebook. “Okay, you got it all?”, asks me the voice in a firm tone as if the person was asking me this just out of politeness.

"Yes, thank you, it should be alright. If anything happens, I will contact you."

"No, don’t call back. If anything happens, please activate the alarm signal on your tracker. No one will be able to come and help you in case of an incident, but we will send a replacement and finish the mission for you." The voice tells me in a cold tone. Ah. Thank you for reassuring me, I absolutely do not shit myself right now. « Oh okay… » I said, becoming aware of the situation they put me in. « Bye then. Good luck. » and right after that, she hung up. Bitch. Nevermind, why would I shit myself thinking about something that won’t happen ? Why would even something happen to me? There isn’t much outside of Dema, the majority of the land out there is lost and lifeless.

I sigh to myself and began to walk. From now on, I’ll focus on my surroundings and find the bag as soon as possible. I don’t want to go back to this shitty place. ever.

ok here's my review of the watcher so far! spoilers for both endings probably.

I LOVE IT. it has its flaws but it's literally impossible to make a bad rain world game + the inclusion of the original team on this one absolutely knocks it out of the park. i ADORE that we got more lore and elaborations on things from vanilla-- like, the signal spires iterators?!?! hello??? that's so sick. also, the threads of reality stuff is really really cool and i'll be rattling it around in my brain for a while i think. it's very cool that they gave us a sort-of explanation for the cycles, or at least a way to explain it ourselves. also, what tumblr user iteratorsex has been doing with color symbolism and analysis of the rot-- i agree with all of that and im rotating it in my brain at immense speeds.

i think gameplay is probably the least polished, but again, this is the first release, they gave it to us early, and considering that, i'm more than happy with what we have. future updates will hopefully polish it up and they seem to be actively collecting feedback on that and listening to the community about accessibility fixes, so i have really no complaints. common videocult W. my only real gripe with gameplay is that i fucking hate aether ridge and would really rather they'd done a badlands and just completely redone it but like eh. it's fine that they didn't ig. i also wish, conversely, that they'd kept old badlands-- the new one is fine, but it really seems like it could be something completely different. they could've added it as a subregion onto badlands 1 or sumn. but i digress. i love that they added modded regions at all: some of those are absolute BANGERS like coral caves and im glad they got the recognition they deserve!

the portaling mechanic is a bit janky right now as well, but again, i expect it'll be improved on in the future. knowing that you can just use existing portals and don't need to keep making your own ones is very nice actually and i'm just glad i figured that out at all-- i'm not upset that they don't tell you that ingame, i like having to figure stuff out on my own. yeah it was frustrating but that's rain world <3

in terms of the story. waow. they hit it out of the park. i love the watcher soooo much they're so AUUUUUGHHHHH. they have so much personality and lore to them and it's shown to us so well through cutscenes and just in general the choices the story forces you to make (i.e. infecting all the regions with rot is the path you have to take to get the ending, but from a story perspective, it's also what watcher decides to do in order to be friends with the prince. same thing with following oaoa around! i love how games will imply things about the player character through narrative options like this auuugh it's so good.) the watcher is my baby and i would like to care for them and cherish them. the lack of normal iterators is honestly refreshing-- i love those guys, but downpour gave us enough of them i think, and it's nice to explore other aspects of the lore like ancients, echoes, and the rot this time around. i especially love learning more about the ancients-- ancient urban is probably my favourite region of the entire game, and was even before i found the upper part with the ancients in it.

sorry im jumping between tangents like crazy but i want to cover all my bases here as i think of them. this campaign was HORRIFYING. like. the devs have really gotten good at making things scary and building a slow sense of increasing and terrible dread god damn. when i first entered the prince's room i was so freaked out by just the lack of anything in there besides the giant rot bulb and the singular karma flower, tiny in comparison. the presence of karma flowers at all in such a heavily rotted and decaying place as the throne is incredibly ominous and i love how they're able to make something that's normally so benign and welcome into something scary. when i first saw the prince move i immediately paused the game and tabbed out because i got so scared. this game is SO FUCKING GOOD AT BEING SCARY and i love it. even just when you're stuck in vanilla regions and the rot is slowly spreading and the lizards are starting to get infected, you get this slow and growing horror of "what the fuck is happening" that i feel is absent from both vanilla and downpour and it's amazing. exploring station annex for the first time, discovering the rotted vanilla regions, finding the throne... it's just so fucking good. i fear replays will never live up to the experience of going through it the first time but i'll really cherish that nonetheless.

also can we talk about the first ending. because that made me cry. finding oaoa in their childhood bedroom.... learning they were a child and seeing them move on... returning to their room to find their toys and getting to play with them and have the watcher reclaim some of their childhood joy... what a beautiful story GOOD LORD. and the art elevates it so much. the cutscenes are gorgeous but also can we talk about how much the background art has improved??? like god damn. the drills in outer rim look so insanely detailed and good like that really stood out to me. also their use of vibrant and bright colors in regions like signal spires and verdant waterways... AUGH. and the insane detail in ancient urban... the subtle colors there and the use of negative space... it's so damn good. i could go on for hours about the background art alone like vanilla rain world is already gorgeous and the watcher takes that to another level.

in conclusion. watcher is amazingly good and well crafted and you can clearly tell that so much love and care went into every part of this game. i haven't even talked about the creatures here GOD the creatures are so good. the creativity on display here. they got so weird with it and i love that soooo much. I <3 RAIN WORLD

You might have been a bit stubborn with your plan, even to the point where you neglected other life aspects, or for others, you've been very driven on changing the circumstances you've found yourself into for a long while.

You seem to have been extremely diligent with your plans, following them trough, or created a very structured way to get you where you want to be. For those who have jobs, or were job searching, this year has been spent for sure on achieving some sort of financial abundance, or create a foundation for your career, this part is highly similar to my own reading and I can say I truly worked hard this year, so pile 2 congratulations on your hard work, and I hope you're enjoying the fruits of your labour.

You've got so many pentacles cards here pile 2 ,so yeah a lot of focus on personal development, finances, and stability.

Something you've learnt is how to be consistent in your work, life , studies etc, rely on yourself, and how to manage ideas, or maybe a situation when something doesn't go the way you planned it. Some of you might have been focused on creating business connections or just create some stable new connections in regards to work / workplace, or maybe you were focused on finding a workplace where you felt like you can grow and develop your skills.

Something that you'll have to pay more attention to, and might serve as your next lesson is related to some self introspective work, and spending some time with yourself. You seem to have been all on the grinding mindset, so much that you kinda forgot about yourself. Good work ethics are great, but I get the impression that you were overworking yourselves, and you got the results, but detached from yourself and some self care.

If you have a certain goal set in mind, go for it, but not on the expense of your health. I got an intresting mix of cards, which leave me with the idea that you're highly aware you're stressed and have been working your brains out, but you keep going because you already have your mind set on something and only after you get that thing done you'll be able to relax.

The message of this pile seems to be again centered around money, finances, staring a new job / moving to a different job, work. Some of you might have started as an intern in your first job, or changed your career. You might have felt a personal call to change your orientation and start something new. I'm getting that energy of " should I stay ? should I leave ? What if I get into a much worse situation if I leave this place?" . Maybe, for some of you, your workplace was toxic and no longer suitable, but you were afraid of what could happen if you don't find a better one , or none at all.

Some of you might have took a break and some time to reflect and redefine their goals. I feel like even though you were getting some reward and results, they were not worth the mental exhaustion, the stress , and what you were putting yourself trough.

It's highly possible for you to still be in this energy/ situation, because as the next lesson the universe has in store for you I got something about facing what you're afraid to face. The page of pentacles showed up in all 3 piles, but for this one, the energy is centered more on self work and development. For you I'm not getting much about money, work and finances, but about new start and goals around personal development. Your year was more of a journey in the search of what works and what doesn't for you. What improvements can you be making in terms of how you think about yourself, how can you change your mindset and find more fulfilment, rather than resenting yourself for things that didn't work out. Maybe you've even been unsatisfactory with who you were , and spent time improving yourself, making better decisions that bring you healthy benefits, and enjoying the journey of these small new beginnings. You learned to have more faith in yourself, in the fact that you're capable of improving yourself.

As something that you are still about to learn, well when I picked the cards I got " committing to yourself ", so ... commit to yourself. hihi! new to tumblr and i LOVE ur posts , do you have any tips for someone who would want to start posting on here?

hihiii welcomee we’re so happy to have you here!!! also thank u so much :)) i’ve got a whole laundry list of tips for ya (and anyone else who needs this!)

1. THEME

people absolutely love a good theme, pick colors that go nice together, base your theme off of a celebrity you like, one of the triplets and so much more, the creativity is completely up to you and only you can make it unique, add your own flare and make your theme really stick out, you can get cute dividers from blogs that make them and find cute photos off of pinterest!!

2. ORGANIZATION

make sure to have a nicely organized masterlist of all your writing, theres a good tutorial i found right here on how to make a neat masterlist. it’s also nice to have a organized but cute pinned post on your blog with a navigation to all ur links, you can take a look at mine for inspiration!!

3. INTERACT

don’t be afraid to make friends!!! go in people’s inboxes to say hello, follow people and get mutuals, like, comment, or reblog posts! i was so afraid at first to talk with people on here but i have so many friends now and it’s so so worth it i promise!! my following is public so you can look through it and find some really cool and friendly blogs on there!

4. WRITING & GIVING CREDIT

when you’re thinking of ideas to write, it’s completely okay to look at other fics for inspiration but if you are taking direct inspiration from someone’s writing message them first and ask if it’s okay and always give credit and tag the person you are taking inspiration from in your post, this goes for taking inspiration for themes, creating au’s, giving credit for dividers and much more! as for writing tips, i usually jot down in my notes the basic premise of the story and write it little by little, i would definitely start out with little blurbs and slowly move onto longer fics as your blog grows! make sure to add lots of description, think about if the reader will be able to picture what you’re saying in their head. you can always ask me or someone else to proofread before you post! also tag ur work correctly! for example, if you are writing smut, don’t put tags about angst.

5. STAY CONSISTENT

i know it seems difficult, and trust me, it was difficult for me. but posting often seriously helps your blog grow. it’s wayyy more than okay to take a break from tumblr but try to post as much as you can! of course i’m not saying spam your blog, but post a few times every day. you could try posting one piece of writing every week and all the other days just post relatable content. people won’t interact with you if they see you aren’t active!

6. HAVE FUN, AND BE NICE!!

enjoy your time on tumblr, make the most out of it. be kind to everyone and avoid drama, hype people up and just be respectful, tumblr is supposed to be a safe and fun place for us to fangirl!! :)

Hello,

I’ve been in this community for a while already, maybe since 2021 but I haven’t really been keeping count. My journey has mostly been a mixture of being desperate and uncommitted. There would be times where I would put in a lot of effort for 1-2 days but honestly would just burn myself out because I would let doubts rule me. So many times I’ve said I’m going to enter and log off tumblr to do it, but I kept logging back in and looking for more information or letting drama that’s always going on in this community affect me. For a whole month I actually managed to stay off void and loa tumblr by creating another account and strictly using that for fics I read. I didn’t really persist because I kept putting it off and I don’t even know why. I logged back on and realized I don’t find myself wanting to continue the same loop that I see a lot of people still chasing. Stepping back, I really see how useless and self sabotaging it is and I know most people are aware of this too but don’t want to break the habit by letting this desperation go.

There’s always going to be the feeling that you’re missing something or that there’s something better for you to try as a method if you keep holding on to the desperation. This loop is dangerous because it’s so easy to fall into and it gets comfortable. People get distracted by new things to try or by drama that’s always circulating. These things can seem exciting and curious but they really don’t matter. We’re not here to feed into tumblr drama, to learn all about it, find out who’s lying/telling the truth, to accuse others, etc. Most of us are going to be gone as soon as we enter void. Who cares about keeping up with the latest void methods and tumblr drama when you’re not even going to think back on it after you succeed. You already know everything you need to know. Don’t make this your “comfortable zone”. People get used to this familiarity of trying, wishing and hoping together, and following the latest news and trends that they get comfortable like this.

I don’t know how to word this but I’ve also seen people romanticize their struggles together. Community is so great and a place to relate to others, but lots of people make it a group effort to struggle. Reaching void state isn’t a group effort. You don’t need to ask others to manifest for you and you don’t need to wait for others to try something out to see if it works. You also don’t need validation from others and expect them to dissect what you did wrong. Someone else’s journey or attempts doesn’t correlate to yours so don’t let it decide yours (unless you know it helps you). You shouldn’t feel discouraged by someone else’s attempts because it’s not yours.

Community is so helpful, but individuality is the key. You need to do this for yourself and by yourself at the end of the day. I know it can be hard but really it’s all up to you and it’s so worth it. People can help you through advice and you can relate to people, but you need to be the one making the choices and putting in the effort to persist.

I saw someone on your page say they are going to log off and persist and (I think) come back with their success. They’re so right and I’m honestly going to do the same. I tried staying off void tumblr for a whole month and it wasn’t too hard. It allowed me to really reflect on myself, which I encourage people who can relate to this post, do. I read your tough love post about how some people will never get their dream life because of a lack of persistence/backbone and their mindset. This post really hit me because it represented my views on void tumblr and my previous struggle with the void state. I really don’t want to be this person anymore so I won’t be. I will succeed this time because there really is no other option. I’ve honestly had enough and I’ve already wasted enough time. These are just my thoughts and I encourage people to get off void/loa tumblr and just persist. You don’t need an epiphany to hit you to finally enter void state. But if you do, take the Not so Sugar and Spice post (I believe that’s what it’s called) as one.

Sorry for over sharing and the long post, but I really wanted to get this off my chest and I wanted to let people know that no matter how much you’ve struggled with the void and mindset in the past, kind of like me, you can still make the choice to persist and break habits that don’t benefit you.

And yes I too recommend that post to people who are mindlessly roaming void and loa tumblr looking for methods to enter the void state because that isn’t going to get them anywhere.

MOONAGE DAYDREAM

Hello everyone! I have decided to post mine and trickbuster's @ygobigbang on tumblr as well as AO3. The AO3 crowd will get updates 15-20 minutes earlier with slight formatting differences and more linked media. I have been developing this fic for almost 10 years. I am honored to have had @trickbuster and the talented Lys and Sabella on this project. This is the first time I have ever collaborated with anyone to write and I had a great time!

The summary for Moonage Daydream is as follows:

The Numeron Code failed. Kaito is dead. Or so it seems.

At least in Mizael's memories, Kaito lives. In his waking hours, Mizael is haunted by Kaito's ghost. In sleep, he hears Kaito repeating the same message over and over again.

Return to the moon. I’m still here. There isn’t much time left. Hurry.

Was it his guilt, or was it truly Kaito? There is only one way to find out.

Chapter 1: Revelation

“Come back,” urges Kaito. “I’m still here.”

His voice is distant despite standing in front of Mizael. A frown fills Kaito’s lips, coupled with furrowed brows. His eyes are filled with a dim glow as if touched by moonlight. He looks as he had in his final moments, dressed in his white spacesuit and cracked helmet. Around them is a white void, shining like the moon. Through the glare of the light, Mizael shields his eyes.

“That’s impossible,” utters Mizael.

He knows this for a fact. Humans were so terribly delicate while the vacuum of space had been merciless. He swallows a lump in his throat and gazes at Kaito’s pale blue eyes. Hadn’t he been there to hear Kaito take his final breaths?

“You’re dead,” he whispers. “I saw you die.”

The words stick in his throat, wrapping an invisible hand around it. How he hates that word. Dead. Death. Die. The end of what once was alive. Kaito’s death had been the end of his tale, his story now in the hands of others. There would be no more duels with Kaito, who had felt like a mirror image of Mizael. No more new words would be uttered from his lips. Only echoes, breathed out from the memories of those who had known him.

They had been two kindred hearts beating as one, separated by a sea of time and loneliness. If only Mizael had the courage to tell the truth before they were forced to battle on the moon…

Yet looking at Kaito now, his flickering image surrounded by light and listening to his fevered pleading, Mizael couldn’t help but think,

Is he, though?

The same expressions. The same voice. He was so close Mizael could touch him…

Kaito continues to stare at Mizael with an unchanging expression.

“Return to the palace. I’ll be there waiting,” Kaito promises.

His visage flickers and warps, as if he was one of those holograms from a poorly connected call.

“There isn’t much time left,” whispers Kaito.

Kaito’s helmet begins to fog and Mizael’s chest tightens.

“Wait—”

“Hurry,” urges Kaito, light emanating from his suit.

His final word is almost carried away in the radiant light. Mizael shields his eyes and winces.

Please.

Mizael startles awake, jumping from his sweat-stained pillows. He turns to the clock. 2:00 AM. Moonlight creeps through the bottom of his thick curtains. His hands shake, recalling Kaito’s words. They echo in his mind, as they have for the last few weeks.

Return to the moon. I’m still here. There isn’t much time left. Hurry.

Four months of this madness.

Madness? Or was it grief?

In the dim light, he stares out at his meticulously organized room in the Barian mansion. It still smells of fresh paint. His shelves are lined with Chinese classics translated to Japanese. He runs his eyes through the titles to steady himself. A Dream of Red Mansions. Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Journey to the West. Flowers in the Mirror. Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, with a bookmark tucked in its first few pages. Some had been presents from his new homeroom teacher, who was told that he was an exchange student from China. The others had come from Durbe and Yuma’s friends.

Despite the shaking in his legs, Mizael pulls open the curtain. His chest twists in pain. The moon is brilliant, shining above Heartland’s skyline.

He looks away.

No. Not yet. Unlike the protagonists in his Chinese novels, he could no longer compose poetry underneath the moon. He could no longer use it to light his way home. He could no longer meet beautiful, ethereal beings beneath its gentle light. The moon no longer possessed magic to him.

Because Kaito was still dead.

Because the Numeron Code had failed.

Because he knows that everyone blames him for Kaito’s death.

He is a condemned man, hanging between life and death. His fellow emperors and acquaintances will reassure him with their gentle smiles and soft words but he knows the truth. Behind his back, they will say that he is a man with blood on his hands. Just like what happened at the party, where one man had been brave (or besotted) enough to tell him the truth.

On lonely nights, he can still hear the man’s words ringing in his ears.

He cannot bow to them, though. He is a warrior, born and raised. Instead, he will continue to live. Excel in his lessons. Smile. Duel, even without his beloved Tachyon. Pretend to be like other humans, even though he knows he could be so much more. The guilt he carries will be his burden as he makes his way through life. Like weeds, they will spread from his heart to the rest of his organs and he will fight them in silence. Eventually, he will succumb to the weeds choking his body. He will wither away without protest like Lin Daiyu, her debt to her lover repaid in tears. That was his fate.

If only his human body wasn’t so frail…

If his body was strong and he did not succumb to guilt…then what?

…

He is surviving, not living. Just like Kaito, he is a ghost wandering through Heartland City.

Mizael forces himself to stare out at the moon again. It shines like a gem, defiant against the city’s light pollution.

“Come back,” whispers Kaito’s voice.

Shnnk. Mizael closes the curtains violently and looks around. Sometimes, he can see Kaito in the shadows, dressed in his robot’s corpse. His expression is always filled with a vacant smile, neither blaming nor absolving Mizael of his sin. Right now, the shadows of his desk yield no ghost. The space between his bookshelf and the corner of the wall remains a black void. Rumpled sheets are his bed’s only companion. His closet remains tightly shut, no gloved hand sheathed in white armor attempting to break out.

This madness had to end.

Mizael peeks through the curtains where the radiant moon remains.

Return.

But how?

Only the soft buzzing of electricity answers him.
