I was at the amusement park with a friend yesterday, so I had this unusual question about Ren/Fox: how do you think Ren feels about amusement parks? do he like riding very extreme and scary roller coasters? Can he get sick or nauseous or can anything make him sick at all? Like I know some people can have bad vestibular system or otherwise very good so I’m curious does he have good vestibular system too due for his beastkin feature? But it is quite possible that it does not matter and he is like that on his own..i hope this guestion is interesting to answer and didn’t sound strange at all! Also I love your writings and everything you do, so thank you, I live for your headcanons 🙏🏻

Although him being beastkin affects a few things, I don’t think this is one of them.

(his vestibular system may be slightly different when it comes to balance— I think due to his flexibility and quick reflexes, Ren is better at balancing himself or righting himself when thrown off balance than a human. However, I’m not sure if this affects the system itself/his perception of being upright, I think it could just be a reflexes thing! Also, his inner ear is likely shaped a bit differently due to the way his ears are, but nothing that changes its function too much!) his definitely isn’t ‘bad’ though, maybe just average.

Ren likes amusement parks to a certain degree; he’d love to go there with a friend/partner and just have fun! I think he likes most rides, although rollercoasters that are super high or fast (usually the most famous ones at the park) can be too much for him. So nothing super extreme.

He’s the type to be excited to go on rides with you but then get nervous once you’re in line. He does have fun, but sometimes he gets nauseous if it spins too much or goes upside down for long periods of time.

So he does enjoy it quite a bit, but he’s not obsessed with going all the time either— just a healthy amount of ‘like’.

This is more to fulfil curiosity, is Ren/Fox gynesexual. It's mentioned often that he likes femininity and I'm assuming he'd fuck anyone.

Would he be fine with someone more masculine?

No, he isn’t, and yes he’s fine with masculine people! He does love feminine things, but that’s also more towards aesthetic and accessories (*cough* sex costumes/lingerie) and not always the person themself. He’s a guy with multiple types, and he can go for both ends of the spectrum.

If you’re more masculine? That’s fine! He’s really pansexual, and you’ll find his face heating up when it comes to a lot of different people/body types.

Also.. he likes Lawrence, doesn’t he? :)

He might cry if you cry.

Strade is and isn’t an emotional person, both at the same time. He doesn’t always feel the same way others feel, especially when it comes to what he presumes is correct or rightful.

However, he also experiences some form of dark empathy. In YKMET, when MC cries hard on a few occasions, Strade will tear up as well. This is because he does feel empathy, he feels it on such a level that he can live vicariously through his victim— but that’s what he likes about it. That’s what he means when he said you two are ‘sharing a very special experience,’ because in his eyes he is sharing it with you. He almost gets high on those feelings, and definitely gets off on them.

I think this is less likely for fictional things, like him watching a sad movie for example; that probably wouldn’t make him cry. It’s different having a living breathing person at your will than watching one who’s acting.

A bit ago I saw someone post a screenshot of an Gatoasnwers ask about Strade and Ren sense of humour on Pinterest. However, the screenshot didn’t show the full response and got cut off right when it was about to mention Ren’s sense of humour. I got very curious and I’ve been searching day and night, everywhere, just to see if I could find the full response, but atlas, I couldn’t. So, I was wondering if you have that specific ask archived? If not, I’m very curious as to what you think Ren’s sense of humour and what specific jokes you think he’d find funny since I’ve been reading a lot of your asks answers and I love how accurate your response are to the characters! ❤️

I'm curious,but would any of the cast from tpof, or btd go for an older mc? Mostly around their mid 40's to late 50's? Or would they primarily go for someone in their 20's or 30's?

I think most of them would go for someone in the 20-30’s range for multiple reasons, but mainly because of more youthful aspects like appearance, mobility, and maybe sex drive (it’s different for all the characters, but they generally want someone not too far from their own age).

I think Strade would be alright with an older MC, as long as they’re interesting.

Fox probably would, but he sells all kinds of people, so that’s no surprise.

I don’t think Cain or Rire would mind either, considering they’re much older and human age seems less of a concern for them.

And that would be Strade’s greatest fear! He hates being tied up, restricted, anything that makes him lose his physical freedom— and you’ve just done the worst thing possible.

He’d hate you. I can’t put into words how much he’d hate you. Any interest or curiosity would be replaced by rage, which is made worse by the fact that he can’t fight you; he relies on you to survive, now.

It’s his worst nightmare. Good revenge for you, maybe, but if you wanted some sort of sick and twisted relationship with him, it’s not gonna happen anymore. He’ll just be stubborn and aggressive.

Where does YKMET take place in? Like, what city?

Like all the BTD games, it takes place in Canada! We don’t have an exact canon location, but Strade lives in the suburbs (the busy kind, with ‘cookie cutter houses’ and stuff). So it’s not in any big city, but maybe just on the edge of a smaller one?

It’s anyone’s guess which though!

I don’t think so. They met on a gore forum, one that Lawrence was a frequent poster on, but Ren was new. I don’t think Ren would have showed that to him, but I’m sure Law did see some anime themed things because Ren can’t help himself; but probably not hentai.

Convinced gato read FTFE like strade doing projects for his neighbors is now canon, there's scenes where ren is forced to hurt you, and strade calls him "my fox"

I think about that sometimes. We know Gato reads ao3, so there’s always a chance she’s read my work and I have no idea.. kinda interesting ^^

I have noticed those things in YKMET, but it might just be a coincidence— I’ve done a lot of research on facts about Strade and Ren (hence the info dumps), and my story is based on canon events!

So it could just be because, well, that stuff is canon. But in my head I like to think I influenced it a little. And hey, who can say otherwise? ;)

what do you think are the difference between Ykmet ren and Btd Ren, If Ren and Mc in ykmet were to ever fall in love, Do you think Strade would use it against them?

He absolutely, canonically would— regardless which game.

Strade loves tormenting his pets. He plays games where he makes them hurt each other for his own enjoyment. And if they love each other? That just spices things up. There’s emotional torture along with the physical pain, which is what makes it so interesting for him. He wants to see what they’ll do! He wants to see who breaks first! Or maybe they try and refuse? It’s all fun for him.

In this situation, I actually think both versions of Ren would kind of shut down a little— for safety. Trying to suppress his emotions to save you both some torture, because less emotion means less fun for Strade. He’d hate hurting you, but he can’t disobey Strade. The only difference is BTD Ren may be more hesitant, and YKMET Ren would try to get it done and over with, but they both dislike it just the same.

Just got thinking abt the ending in btd2 when u "kill" lawrence, has gato said anything abt what lawrence would do after getting back from the river? If she hasnt what do u think he would do? And how fast would he go back aswell since he wants to stop the mc?

Now I came to think abt smth else involving lawrence's whole undead thing, how good is his healing? Would he be able to heal the wound in his gut from the shears? And what abt the gutting from rens route?

Also since u've mentioned ur busy schedule a couple times i hope it starts clearing up so u get more time to rest and indulge in ur hobbies!

She has said that Lawrence holds grudges. He’d definitely be mad (rightfully so) and try to seek you out for revenge of some kind, so I imagine he’d come back right away. He loves the river, but he’d be so furious with you that he just can’t let you get away with that.

First though, he’s gotta fix himself up. He can come back after dying, but his body decays— and heals— just like a regular person. They’re both terrible injuries; he’d have to stitch himself up, and as Gato said, they’ll probably never heal properly. But once he’s strong enough to walk around again, he’s gonna find you. So watch your back.

It’ll take a lot of luck, a lot of homemade pain killers, and the ability to cheat death (check and check), but it is possible for him to live on.

I revisited the btd space after several years thanks to the release of YKMET and thank you so much for the archives it’s made my life so much easier cause otherwise I’ve been searching so many other places for archives and it’s nice to have them all in one place.

Also I’ve been scrolling through the blog and I wanted to say generally that your fics and stuff are cool! And I like seeing other people’s stuff that gets shared through your blog and it’s kinda inspired me to work on stuff. I’ll see how it turns out

I'm curious, are the mythological creatures,like kitsune's and kumiho's considered beastskin? Since they can shape shift into a human. Or are they just completely separate entities,maybe a sub-group of beastskins?

They are separate species. Gato has said that Ren’s original colony was often mistaken for kitsune because of the fox like qualities, but they’re just two separate species regardless of any similarities.

The main defining factor about beastkin is their creation. Beastkin start out as an human and animal making a pact to ‘walk as one’, and fusing into one being. After that, generations of families create more.

So they’re their own thing, any similar creatures are just coincidences, they have their own category :)
