How do you think Strade would do if he were in MC's place in Mason's route? Feel free to give your opinion on the other two from TPOF (Derek and Celia). What about Lawrence?

I know Gato already talked about what it would be like if it were Ren, but if you want to add some more of your individual thoughts, that would be awesome! (BTD/BTD2 and TPOF Ren would act in the same way? I know they are the same person, but still XD. I wonder if Fox would act differently than his younger self in Mason's huntings.

Sorry if something seems confuse, I'm not a english speaker!

I went pretty in depth with this one, let’s get into it! Some of these are more headcanon, and some are scenarios I think that might happen.

Strade

Mason- I don’t think Strade would do well with Mason. He’s a fairly suburban guy, I’d say— and he’s a people person. He’s also not very athletic. Being out in the woods, stranded and alone, is not a good situation for Strade. He’s not sneaky; I imagine he’d slip up or be too obvious to track that Mason would get to him quickly.

Derek- This scenario might be interesting. That’s because there are multiple hunters, and multiple victims. Instead of Strade only avoiding getting hurt himself, he’ll notice their motives, and see them torture the others (in first blood, for example). Watching them have their fun with Chamomile might get him excited. I’m sure the group will notice one of their victims is seeming very into what they’re doing, instead of being afraid. That’s.. new. Strade might even try to convince them to let him switch to their side. I doubt they’d believe he’s serious on the spot, but still.

Celia- Gato has already mentioned a bit about these two. In short, if Celia were to capture or otherwise acquire Strade, she’s very perceptive and would be quick to find his weaknesses. He hates being restrained, even fears it, and Celia will exploit this right away. Strade is good in his element, but if Celia gets to him first, he’s in trouble.

Lawrence

Mason- this is actually 50/50, depending all on how Lawrence reacts to the situation. He stands a fairly good chance though. Let me explain; If Law wakes up in an unfamiliar situation, in the woods with a man holding a crossbow, that will cause him to panic just like it would anyone. Depending on how Lawrence is feeling leading up to this (his “sanity bar” let’s say), he could act very different. If he’s struggling, that panic will turn to anger. Lawrence isn’t afraid to throw a punch, and sometimes jumps right to that out of instinct if he’s frustrated. Mason is still stronger by far, but Law actually comes close in terms of height and strength (compared to all the other characters), and might have a chance to at least escape a close call. If Law is thinking more clearly though, once he runs from the starting point and calms down a bit, he might realize— he’s in his element. He’s always been more at home in the forest than with people and civilization. The isolation and lost feeling that might stress someone out normally gives him a feeling of security. He knows the woods, and he actually has the best chance of making it out alive.

Derek- Lawrence would not like Derek, in my opinion. Derek is loud, obnoxious, and rude. He’s also something Lawrence hates on a personal level: he’s a bully. He goes out of his way to insult and pick on people, especially in gross or offensive ways. Lawrence was bullied a lot as a child, and hearing this from Derek (whether directed towards him or another victim) would infuriate him. Derek might laugh and point at how upset Law looks, sitting there tied up, and taunt him about how he can’t do anything about it. Lawrence sees all the people who’ve been mean to him in the past in Derek (I think he tends to ‘group’ people he dislikes into a category in his mind) and, well.. Lawrence isn’t a kid anymore. He’s taller and stronger. As soon as he gets untied, he doesn’t run. He tackles Derek right there in front of everyone. With all the others there, someone’s bound to pull him off, stab him, or even kill him right there, but Derek won’t make it out without a serious beating. Let’s say that doesn’t happen though, and Law makes it out into the open desert. This, unlike the woods, would panic him. It’s dry and barren and all looks the same. He wouldn’t know where to go next. I think he would spend most of his time in the fissure, hiding in the shade and waiting. Maybe he’d try to return to the River by dehydrating himself (not drinking the water in the puddle), because at least it would get him out of this. Law doesn’t work well in a team, generally speaking, especially with strangers. I don’t see him doing very well in the desert.

Celia- Lawrence might have trouble with Celia. Like I mentioned, she’s good at finding and exploiting people’s weaknesses. Lawrence wouldn’t like the feeling of being analyzed and perceived so much, especially when he’s in an unfamiliar situation. He needs to be the one planning things out, thinking things through. And being trapped in that building too? It would really stress him out. (I think the buzzing lights would really affect him after a while). If he got his hands free, he’d probably take the route of smashing the window.

EDIT: I stumbled across this in a canon ask after I wrote my answer, and I have to say I’m proud of myself ^^ I was pretty spot on.

Ren

Here’s the canon answers:

I don’t have anything to add, that’s basically what I would’ve said.

Fox

(Assuming that he wasn’t the announcer who sold victims to the main three), here’s a few differences I’d mention.

Derek- although he’s still capable of working as a team, Fox is also more independent. He’d be more likely to save himself over others than younger Ren would have been. He’d work together if the opportunity presented it, but I think he’d first try to find their cars/another way out by sneaking around at night, without necessarily checking for the other captives first.

Celia- Fox would be more perceptive of the situation than his younger self. Part of this comes from years of experience being on the other end of this scenario, so he can guess what’s going on in the mind of his captor now.

Mason- not much different. He’s older and a bit cooler headed, but Mason is still too skilled for Fox to best him. Sorry, Ren.

I was squeezing 100% of Fox's route to get the most information out of him and I came across this dialogue.

Does this mean that beastkin have only recently become relatively normal in the BTD universe? And I say relatively because MC doesn't seem familiar with them, as if they were their first time seeing them.

Do you know anything about it? I've only been in the fandom for a month, so the information I have is really vague, just my own theories and conspiracies.

There’s not much other info about this moment, but it does imply that about five years prior beastkin were officially recognized in the media (meaning they no longer have to hide themselves in public, and are somewhat normal).

The fact that Fox claims you’ve been living under a rock means that they’re more common than MC realizes, but the species is still much more rare than humans, so that could just be a coincidence that MC hasn’t seen one.

That’s probably why Fox can show his true features on stream without anyone asking questions, because they all know what he is by now. Although, the long-time fans might remember seeing him when he was younger on someone else’s streams ;)

What do you think Ren would look & act like if he went down the good route in BTD2?

His body and face would still be like Fox, since his build never really changes. He wouldn’t have his notched ear though, since that happened sometime after BTD2. Another thing, he wouldn’t have that much gray hair at 47. Some, yes, but he has a lot, even on his tail. In reality, 47 is not that old. Sparing him some stress as life goes on would help a little.

For acting, I think he’d be a bit more like his younger self— meaning he wouldn’t be as cold as Fox has grown to be. He would have kept some of Ren’s more tender qualities.

He probably found a line of work relating to art, like Gato said— he’s creative and passionate. Maybe he learned to draw/animate and finally got to help with anime production in some way? I think there’s a lot of good things in store for him on a better path.

If the MC from TPOF had survived and ended up being kept by Fox, do you think he’d ever actually grow attached to them—or even fall in love?

Yes. The fact that he saved you, went against chat and the persona he’s built for himself, and kept you for himself are all signs that he’s growing attached. It’s kind of a big deal for him.

Ren, whether young Ren or Fox, is one of the characters that is capable of love and does like the idea of being in a relationship. Fox is a bit more harsh about it than his younger self was, though. He’d treat you like a pet for a long time, which probably comes with abuse and punishments even though it’s no longer on stream. He’ll always like you, adore you even; If he did develop an actual love for you, he might become gentler. It wouldn’t change who he is or what he does, but he might lighten up a bit.

He gradually starts giving you more privileges. If he still hurts you, he’s extremely doting afterwards, making sure to get you cleaned up- maybe cuddling with you after that. You might be confused as to why he’s growing softer, if you notice. He’s not afraid to say ‘I love you’, but for the sake of training you he’d want you to say it first. He’d try and get you to focus on how caring he is after hurting you, instead of the fact that he hurt you. That just brings you two closer (just like Strade used to say).

He’s very good at helping your Stockholm syndrome build, I think he does it on purpose. So the moment you express that you have feelings for him, he’d share his too. None of this will spare you the torture (maybe after a lot of years), but it would make him nicer to you in general.

how would they all react if the mc drew them in the most scrumptious, delectable, edible, yummy in their tummy way

Strade- surprised at first, he wasn’t expecting that from you; especially since he’s been so cruel (he doesn’t feel bad of course, but he knows you don’t exactly appreciate what he does to you). He hangs it up somewhere in his room— he finds it very interesting, just like most things about you.

Ren- I’m not sure how else to describe it than squealing. Tail wagging, loss for words, it’s the greatest thing he’s ever seen. He loves it!! The fact that you drew him means you like him enough to take that much time and effort out of your day to draw, and not to mention it’s perfect! If I can tell anything from the posters in his room and the things he’s interested in, Ren does have an appreciation for art and creative works. He’d put that in a frame above his computer to remember how much his pet friend likes him ^^

Lawrence- Would be shocked. It would catch him off guard, but he does like it. I hc that one of Lawrence’s love languages is gift giving, but in the ‘I found this pretty rock in the woods and it made me think of you, here’ kind of way (ahem, it’s called penguin pebbling). The fact that you took the time to draw him? No one cares about him, why would you do that? He’s confused, but he’d treasure that drawing.

Sano- He might not say much about it, but he does think it’s sweet. He keeps his laboratory and room pretty clean and clutter-free, but if it’s really good he’d find a place to hang it. You probably won’t hear anything about it until you spot it hung up near his desk one day.

Akira- he’d think it’s super cool that you wanted to draw him, and would pin it up with the rest of the posters in his room.

Rire- “Oh, what’s this? A drawing of me? How cute.” He may talk like it’s silly, but that’s because he’s had far more powerful beings paint him much better things than that, but he supposes you did well for a human.

Cain- I think Cain has a bit of passion for the arts. He’d like the fact that you wanted to draw him, but he’s not surprised (he’s a little full of himself when it comes to his looks/image). He’d keep it someplace safe.

Vincent- He thinks it’s cool. Probably a simple reaction of “thanks, kiddo.” If it’s really good he might hang it in the bunker, but it’s 50/50.

Farz- Kind of surprised you thought of him. He’d thank you and not say much else, but he would keep it.

Derek- It really depends. My first thought is that he’d find some way to turn it negative, or mock you for it. He’s seen better art, no matter how good it is (at least, he claims). There’s a small chance he might rip it just to spite you. If he’s starting to actually like you, he might say the same things, but.. he’d keep it. He thinks it’s childish, especially from you, but he’s not used to people doing nice things for him. He wouldn’t admit that he likes it, but he’d hide it somewhere for him to glance at occasionally.

Celia- She’d think it’s cute that you wanted to draw her, and it would definitely make her feel good. She can’t display it or anything because, yknow, her husband (oh Harold, always ruining everything/hj) but she’d keep it someplace she can look at it occasionally. Maybe in her office in the building she has.

Mason- Doesn’t know much about art besides taxidermy, but he thinks it’s interesting. He’d probably find someplace in the cabin to hang it up, but mostly because it makes you happy.

Any headcanons about how btd/tpof characters would sleep with mc or without?(if they even let them sleep.) and also if they snore

Oh yes!!

Strade- He doesn’t move around much, but he might put an arm over you if you’re sleeping together. He does snore, and he sleeps pretty deeply— you could probably sneak out of bed and then come back without him knowing.

Ren- (canon answer) he’s quiet, but always moving and kicking in his sleep. I also think he clings a lot. He needs to hold onto you or nuzzle up against you. Sometimes it gets to the point where you can’t even get up to use the bathroom because he’s latched onto you.

Lawrence- Gato only said that “Lawrence sleeps like the dead” normally. That’s why at first, he’s kind of tense having someone else in his bed with him. He just kind of lays there and stares, until he finally lets himself calm down a little. He might gently hold/touch you if you don’t pull away. Once he falls asleep though, he clings. He doesn’t know he does that, but he locks onto you like his life depends on it. Don’t expect to get up before he does.

Sano- Sano sleeps pretty soundly. He’s quiet and for the most part stays still. Sleeping with an MC would depend on the situation— meaning, are you a doll, a regular MC that he liked, or an MC controlled by one of his centipedes? A quick rundown: Regular person/partner or one of his centipedes: clearly the centipedes are as sentient as a normal person (I’ll go into that when I release my Sano fan fiction I’ve been working on), so he’d treat them the same as any partner. He sleeps close to you, maybe spooning with you. Doll: He’d always tuck you in first, making sure everything’s perfect, and then get into bed himself. If he does cuddle you, he’d be careful about it. He knows you’re not exactly delicate, but he wants to keep you in pristine condition. He views you a little differently than just any other person.

Akira- I think he does toss and turn a bit. He’ll start out by holding your waist or something, and wake up on the whole other side of the bed pressed against the wall some days. I think he has a lot of intense dreams due to his job. And then some days he doesn’t move at all; he’s unpredictable. He only snores occasionally and it’s not very loud.

Rire- Simple. He sleeps soundly (and yet seems to wake up immediately if he ever needs to. You can’t sneak anything past him). Maybe the occasional hand resting on you, but that’s it.

Cain- Sleeps quietly. Looks too pretty in his sleep, more than he should be allowed. He would lay close to you, and maybe spoon if you ask nicely (and are behaving well).

Vincent- doesn’t move a ton, but does roll over in the way that pulls the blankets off of you while he’s sleeping. He might cuddle you, it’s more likely if you initiate it. I think he does snore sometimes. Farz would probably shove him a little to make him stop.

Farz- pretty basic. Mostly quiet and still, but will occasionally move around if he’s dreaming.

Derek- Pretty quiet. He doesn’t snore, but sometimes comes close (like, his breathing changes, that’s all). He’s more or less a ‘pretty sleeper’, surprisingly. If you’re sleeping next to him he doesn’t full on cuddle you, but he might put a hand over your stomach or something. Not a super heavy sleeper— I think he learned that from his siblings sneaking into his room to do who knows what when they were younger.

Celia- Quiet sleeper. She’s become more still due to a disconnection with her husband. When sleeping with you, she does like the physical touch, but she’d rather have you lean against her than spooning or something. That might change as she grows more attached to you, but who knows.

Mason- definitely snores. I don’t think he changes much sleeping with you or on his own. He doesn’t move much.

Fox- Same as Ren, but he doesn’t kick around as much. He definitely still hold you in his sleep.

What if the peeps actually like, genuinely felt something for the mc? (If some of them actually could lmfao) As in, actual romance and not just the possession stuff

Celia and Ren I think are more welcoming of those feelings, as we see in some of their endings. Sano too, if he took a liking to you.

Both Rire and Cain, I imagine, wouldn’t really admit it to you/themselves. They’d just.. keep you around, with little explanation. As life goes on they might open up or reveal their feelings, but only time will tell.

Mason, as Gato has mentioned, could fall deeply in love. So if he loved MC, he’d let them stay with him in the woods and make a life for them there. (I did another ask where I went more in depth about that).

There are some that might have trouble coming to terms with it though:

Derek I think would have an internal struggle, and by struggle I mean denial. I love the idea of him getting Lima syndrome after he’s spent so long torturing you. He looks forward to getting home and being able to take his anger out on you, or just have fun with you.. but at some point he’ll realize he likes it because it’s you. He’d get very defensive if you ever tried to make him admit that.

Lawrence could have very different reactions depending on how he feels. If he’s going down the route of obsession, he’d embrace those feelings and maybe even go too far. But if he’s more normal (for him, at least) he’d probably freak out. People are just like flowers, they trick others and lie. You’re attractive, it’s probably just a trick. But he still likes you. How is he supposed to deal with that?

As for Strade, his idea of love is so skewed that I (and Gato confirmed) don’t think he’s capable of regular romantic love. It’s just not his style. So he doesn’t apply. The closest thing is what we saw with Ren- he’d keep you around and make you a collar.

That’s not everyone, but I can’t think of much that sticks out with the other characters. I hope this was good enough :)

• For those that don’t know, Raja is Sano and Akira’s cousin, who is also a naga. He was originally part of the desert crew before EP and Gato’s falling out. Derek looked up to him a lot, seeing him as a role model (which wasn’t great, since Raja was very violent and nasty to say the least). Afterwards, he was scrapped from the project and replaced with Jack.

• Those girls in the drawing are Lily (left) and Laurel (middle), Law’s sisters. They are slightly younger than him and twins. Originally from a fan fiction called Fervent Care of Dying Things, Gato loved them so much she made them canon. It’s stated that this picture is one of the last that the siblings took together.

• Due to his half-rotting state (from visiting the River too many times), Lawrence is infertile. It’s impossible for him to get someone pregnant— in canon, anyway.
