There were so many shows that happened this year, I literally had to make a list by scrolling through mass post editor to see what I had watched. I cannot keep time straight (or my watching habits lol)

I think several people can agree with me, they swooped into this last quarter totally unknown and Every You, Every Me stole all of our hearts. As SunDol, PinFirst, XNamping, BlueSian, and PunInn???? All of those???? And both of them dealt with different flavors of queer men (and gender expression) so well. I would gladly be a third for XNamping or BlueSian in the fic of my dreams - I was drooling over each of them (BlueSian, you horny bitches, you made me feral like nothing else 🥵🫣). Namping especially, baby, you live in my heart forever. Honorable mention to Fiat Patchata, boy I've missed you! The Gifted lover in me will always miss my son Korn and Fiat was fantastic as him, and I loved seeing his characters here too.

I only watched Wandee Goodday, Kidnap The Series, and Pluto The Series with him in it, but he also was in We Are, Ploy's Yearbook, and Perfect 10 Liners. His 2024 schedule was booked! And for good reason. He's showing a fair amount of versatility and I have enjoyed every character he's gotten to play so far. I chose Blue to show though, because as someone on the ace spectrum, his character being an understanding partner to an asexual character meant so much to me. Plakao deserved it, and we were not disappointed.

Meanwhile, we have one of the sweetest romances by way of God and Diew learning how to communicate with each other and enjoy who the other person is despite vast differences in their personalities. Spare Me Your Mercy/Every You, Every Me (implied)

I'm not here to really discuss the subject itself or which show did a better job with it, especially since Every You, Every Me left that factor up to interpretation (I'm including it anyway, even if it wasn't intended). What I appreciated in both shows was the empathy they showed toward the people whose conditions toward the end of their lives left them wanting to choose for themselves how things would end, and they showed loved ones around them supporting their decisions. I'm not an older queer who was around for most things regarding the HIV/AIDS pandemic, but the use of queer characters for these stories does hit a particular chord in regards to how important respecting the choices of the dying and their supporting circle should be.

I waited to receive this film for months and months and months after it was announced and then released and boy did I RECEIVE. FreenBecky really get to show off their chops in this. I loved how it straddled the line between sci-fi and psychological thriller on top of the sapphic romance. Kath and Lin are both fantastic characters in every single storyline. I especially enjoyed the part where they have guns with a bonus of Lin getting a knife. When do they get their action gl?

My wishes for 2025 in no particular order:

GIVE MEN MORE LONG HAIR. Namping and Sian were fantastic, Top Piyawat really gave us so much. I also found out that Sailub Hemmawich used to have long hair and I am so upset it's short now!!!!

i’m very outgoing and extremely extroverted like my friends say. i’m the type of person that is always talking 😭 if you put me in a room with a stranger, the chances are extremely high that i end up befriending them (unless i feel like they don’t want to talk). but i get bad days too like other people and sometimes i just shut down and won’t talk unless spoken to.

while i am friendly, i also keep my circle small. i don’t have the ability to maintain a thousand of friendships so i have only a handful of friends that i am reallllyyyy close to.

i am very emotional and have the worst case of fomo. when i see my friends hanging out without me, i immediately feel like it’s the end of the world which is stupid and currently trying to resolve that. the way i cope is usually joining whatever org i can which makes me an extremely busy person at times.

i don’t get mad at people very often (i am easily annoyed though) and when i’m mad, i easily forgive but i /never/ forget.

i love discovering new music but my current favorite artists are phoebe bridgers and haim. i have a short-ass attention span when it comes to series and it’s been forever since i finished one. i’m more of a casual viewer, so i like movies better (especially romcoms)

what i don’t like is people who are extremely judgy and only see people negatively. it’s a pet peeve of mine when people are so quick to judge. i also hateeeee liver (although my mom encourages me to eat it bc i have iron deficiency…) but i love eating a mix of vegetables.

i’m a hopeless romantic by the way! i genuinely think that i won’t ever settle for any other than the tender and sweet kind of love. my love language are acts of service and quality time. i also really appreciate if someone listens to my ramblings tirelessly.

one of the things that i look for a partner is that he’s an active member of the community like me; it helps me see if he’s truly responsible. i also want him to care about his studies as much as i do and he should have a set goal in life. i want someone to have a direction in life, and knows that we shouldn’t be each other’s ONLY priorities.

#5: The Confectionary Chronicles series by cheshire_caroll (ao3); Into the Black series by angelholme (ao3); Hermione Granger & the Serpent's Renaissance series by epsi1on (ao3) AND New Blood by artemisgirl (ff.net) || if it's not evident, i am an absolute slut for fics ft. Hermione being badass & put into a v cool plot w/ insane amounts of world building, so yeah, def a top 5 most contender <3

#4: The Infinitely Curious Woman by chararii (ao3) || literally ALL of their fics are absolute bangers, and while I forever mourn their decision to stop all Naruto fics thanks to the great harddrive incident of 2022, I have nonetheless the GREATEST respect to their skill & talent to bring SUCH LIFE to their stories. In particular, I chose this particular fic of theirs because the premise of Sakura making her own way by shedding off her morality the more she learned & got influenced by her 2 greatest teachers was absolutely nothing short of DIVINE. It was and IS such an inspiration to read, reread & explore, and I will forever love @chararii for this brilliant piece of a fic

#3: The Endgame that never was series by @heleneplays aka me (tumblr masterlist) || ok I know this seems self-absorbed but DEAR MOTHER OF CHRISTIE i literally WENT OFF for a whole ass day and a half going feral for the Relics of the Lost Age series book 3 finale (hi @jamesshawgames pls know im still here and STILL simping even tho i am currently having a brainrot for a different thing on main sjdhdkdk i hope ur doing well dearest mr. chief author sir!!!!) and created this series from my dreams + nonstop ben&ben playlist— and honestly, I think it's VERY sexy of me <3 bc I rarely like things that I do after a while, but THIS— alongside Universal Constant (ao3) are truly my BEST work <3

This is a tricky one because I'm not the best judge of behaviour. I'm extremely cynical about people's actions. Think I'm going to go with how a person reacts in a crisis. Someone who panics and can't handle it has probably never been through anything in their life and so I wouldn't really trust their opinion as much as someone who just takes it in their stride. Priceless wise would be my teddy bear I've had since I was 5 years old. I bought him second hand after I'd moved as a kid and he lost one eye on the way home. I was reading a book at the time where they had a bear with 1 eye, so he got the same name: Nelson. He then lost the second eye a few weeks later and has been missing both since.

Item with a cost - either one of my tamagotchis or my signed copies of the Red Star comic series by Christian Gossett.

1. The last book I read:

A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon. I absolutely loved it. a commitment for sure, since it's 850 pages long, but it was like, the high fantasy I've been wanting to read my entire life. like it took all the tropes from the great fantasy series' that I've read/know of and just made it women-centric and better and gayer. george and john eat your fucking hearts out

2. A book I recommend:

Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll --- I got an ARC at ALA last year and it was such a fantastic read, and good, gritty complicated navigating of a crime story. if you can withstand the subject matter (serial killings, sexual assault, period typical homophobia), I highly recommend it.

3. A book that I couldn't put down:

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas. I blew through this series back in March and it was great fun. ridiculous, sometimes bad, but hella fun. like a CW show.

4. A book I've read twice (or more):

Book Lovers by Emily Henry. it's comfort food/nora ephron romcom in prose form.

5. A book on my TBR:

well, Emily Henry did just put out a new novel, that I do want to read...maybe after the chaos I have going on this month. Funny Story?

and now that I loved ADOFN I want to read Priory of the Orange Tree

6. A book I've put down:

Wuthering Heights. I'M SORRY I think maybe I attempted her too young. mayhaps I should give Emily another chance.

7. A book on my wish list:

I want my own copy of Nabokov's Letters to Vera. I got halfway through-ish with a library copy before I had to return it, and that's a book that I just really wanna take a highlighter to.

I was a Little House on the Prairie GIRLIE. I still have my collection in my home library <3 from the Big Woods to the First Four Years

I like to keep all of my books lol, but I would give a friend my paperback copy of No Matter the Wreckage by Sarah Kay because I have a signed hardback copy

I have lots of memoirs and such, but a nonfiction book that I really liked reading was a biography called The Real Traviata: the Song of Marie Duplessis, it's about the woman Dumas fils based La Dame aux Camellias off of, which is the source for Verdi's La Traviata, which is the source for Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge!

12. What are you currently reading?

The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith. I just started it, but Therese's doubts about working retail and pursuing a career in the arts are hitting a little too close to home innit

13. What are you planning on reading next?

I've been meaning to read the sequel to Discovery of Witches - Shadow of Night for like a year, and I got it out of the library again, so I think I'll go there next. (I was craving something smart after my bout in the SJM-verse)

So, back on the 15th of last month, I had made a colored sketch version of this post, as I wasn’t really sure if I would be up for committing the time necessary to finish the artwork in full for quite a while, if ever; however, since I was, in fact, able to complete it after all, I would now like to make a much more proper post for it here on my art blog.

This is my take on the “Meet the Artist!” type of posts that you occasionally see floating around the various parts of Tumblr (except, seeing as that I’m also a writer, I added ‘author’ to it, too).  As stated above and as most of my blogs’ urls imply, the name that I most typically go by online is, of course, Linkle — although, there are some exceptions on a very select few other platforms.

My main hobbies are (obviously) writing and drawing, although I am also a gamer who loves playing video games, listening to music, reading books and poetry, and watching various shows and movies on TV — including a few anime series.

My favorite series out of all of the fandoms I am in is, without a shred of doubt, Bungou Stray Dogs and its related topics, but I also am a very big fan of the Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, Stargate (particularly SG-1 and Atlantis), Final Fantasy, Xenoblade Chronicles, Ace Attorney, Pokémon, and so, so many other (for me) somewhat minor fandoms that I haven’t mentioned here, but still love dearly all the same. 💖 If I’ve ever loved a series, chances are I will love it forever and ever.

As a creator, I am primarily an artist, writer, and theorist, who takes great pride in drawing my favorite characters and pairings and writing meta articles, analyses, theories, and fanfics for the fandoms and topics that are close to my heart (with my primary focus being especially centered around Bungou Stray Dogs and the general topic of Arthur Rimbaud — both in BSD and in real life, the research of which I take extremely seriously).

As a gamer, some of my favorite games of all time are Xenoblade Chronicles, the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Majora’s Mask, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Code Vein, Final Fantasy IX, X, and XV, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Platinum Version, Rime, Super Mario Galaxy, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE! (And there are probably some others I’m forgetting as of writing this, too. lol)

Oh shit I'm not sure? Probably the Nederlands Blazersensemble (Dutch blowers' ensemble) when I was 6, but given that my dad goes to a LOT of concerts for his work and has taken me to several throughout his life, I might've experienced one at even younger an age. My first one I went to without my dad and from my own money tho was Hozier in 2019, and I've seen him twice since 😊

- favorite part of canon: overall, l loved how whimsical the first book was. it felt like a very very cozy fairy tale and it just “looks”/“sounds” so pretty. also, i know the high lords’ meeting in acowar was a mess but tamlin’s line specifically talking about how no matter what, he is against tyranny and will fight for everyone’s freedom regardless of who they are….like that is super hot of him. (That and also i’m a whore for people that play music)

- favorite headcanon: not sure but i’d like to imagine he has such a pretty voice be it his normal talking voice or when he sings

- Member since: I first read ACOTAR in December, so officially then. I did not find the community until a few months after hearing the spoilers for what happens to our beloved Tam. It was my personal choice to stop reading the books and continue writing Tam’s story my own way. He deserves better!

But, officially, I believe I arrived in early March.

- Favorite part of canon: I genuinely enjoy the first book, despite its quality issues and lack of consistency. It’s a guilty pleasure read for sure. My favorite part of Tamlin’s storyline or character is truthfully his good heart. No matter how much people villainize him, the text itself fights to prove that he has a good heart — despite that it does not always lead him perfectly.

- Favorite headcanon: I have so many; but right now it really is that Tamlin is terrified of thunderstorms.

- Main ships: Tamlin / happiness. Feylin. Tamcien. FeyTamCien. He’s easy to love and easy to ship.

- Main work: Fiction! Currently a retelling of the first book from his perspective.

Aww, thanks mate <3 I'm gonna count 'written' as 'finished' or we'd be here all day hemming and hawing about which ones are my favourite. <3 This narrows it down to 5 of 65 instead of 102, which... i think you'll understand why I needed to do that. Pls. Sanity. I need that. That's something I need to keep having. (Also, no repeat ships/fandoms, just to let my other works shine. Teen wolf has a major bias otherwise, with 40 of my fics being for that show)

In no particular order;

For When The Sunset Turns To Gold - Chronicles of Narnia (Movies), Gen. Minor crossovers with Torchwood and Harry Potter, but mostly negligible. More about the Pevensies post-film lives (because they DO NOT DIE, BOOKS, THANKS) than anything else.

To note, I am incredibly proud of this fic! I love the feeling it's got. I was very emotional when I wrote it because I'd just watched Prince Caspian and got reminded of the very sticky ends each of these people meet and i was like NOPE OKAY and wrote this to make myself feel better. I'm pretty sure I cried when I was writing it. Actually, I'm tearing up rn. Onto the next one very quickly-

Keeping This. - Teen Wolf, Stiles/Theo, post-series AU. Soulmate AU, too.

Started in my Journey Across the Dimensions fic/let collection, finished here. This one was interesting because of how long it got, lol, for a one-shot. I ended up using it for my Steoday fic, and I'm still really happy with it. I just think this is some solid character work, and some extra-solid character dynamics work. I'm not so good with the building up romance thing, and I think this is one of the times where I did an actually good job with it, instead of just an ok one. Trying to get more comfortable establishing relationships than having them already established, since that's what I prefer to read anyway esp for non-canon fare. Anyway, I'm pleased with this one. As an AU i think it works, and i think it works more for being pretty canon-compliant. It's simple and it's easy and it's actually quite soft, which is rare for me. Especially when it comes to these two fellas. Stiles and Theo as written by me are... rarely soft. So this is a nice reprieve. Especially since I think I did a good job keeping them accurate despite the sweetness. I'm also pretty sure I managed to keep the tense consistent! But don't quote me on that. Same for all of these, actually. (Working on it, working on it...)

A Muggle Cliché (thank you for making me write this, lol) - Harry Potter, Ron/Harry, coffee shop/squib!harry/no voldemort AU! (Also background Dumbledore time travelled AU, but shhhh not important nobody ic knows that. The fic is fluffy and happy and great and the shadowy background history of the AU is not even remotely addressed.) I am halfway through writing a technical-sequel to this fic that's Cho/Ginny, stay tuned! (I know it's taking forever and the request came in before Easter, but to the person who sent in the prompt, I promise i'm literally like, halfway there. Should be done by the end of summer, at max.)

Obviously you know this one, since you made me write it, lol. Thank you for the prompt, again! I think this is my strongest ronarry excluding your other prompt, but I mean, like, non-canon ronarry is hard for me because i'm super attached to their canon selves, so this was a work in characterisation where I could see how an AU like this would change them without them being totally different people who we don't care about because it's like, in name only shit (which I'm never fond of, as a rule). So, yeah! This is one of the most saccharine things I've written. Good lord. Did pay you back for that, though.... sorry.

Somebody to Someone. - Slaughterhouse Rulez, Don/Willoughby, post-movie AU. Thank the entire Slaughterhouse Rulez discord for this one lol like a few years back. Man, how time flies... I was 17 when the film came out.... i'm 21.... gosh... anyway fluffy Christmastime goodness.

Yeah, I mean, I said it there. fluffy christmastime goodness. Don't blame that part on me, though, I had a lot of help writing this one. I'm proud of the parts I wrote and I'm super grateful for the help from the discord, you guys are great! So I guess this is my first fic that's a collaboration (that's actually a fic - we won't talk about the other one...) so, uh, yeah! Awesome! Collabs are fun. Working with other people on a fic can be a great experience. And I'm very happy with the outcome! Slaughterhouse Rulez is one of my favourite movies. If you take anything from me, it's that you should watch it and also join the discord server. It's a fandom of like 15 people. We need mooooorrrrreeeeeeeeeee-

In Another Universe (Maybe We Were Happy.) - Assassin's Creed, Desmond/Clay, 5 aus in which they (eventually, at least) get together romantically, and one in which they don't. Obviously varies wildly between angst and not angst, as is my M.O. To note I am working on that other AC fic (the soulmate au one) but it's taking forever bc i need to replay ac3. Dumb dumb moment here. Literally forgot the plot *facepalm.* Anway, somehow hoping these 44k words are enough to tide over the literal years people have been waiting for me to finish that other fic... ack.

This one is super nostalgic which is weird since it's not even that old, but I'm really fond of it. One of my first long-fics that i actually finished, which is also cool. Each chapter is it's own AU, so really I'm not sure if this is a fic per se or more a fic anthology, but either way, I'd never done the 5 + 1 format before and I thought it'd be cool. It was a good way for me to work through my characterisation of these guys, who I'd not written before, and my thoughts on the AC universe, which I'd also not written before. I think it's some solid writing and it's got one of my best AUs and romances, in chapter 2, with the coffee shop assassins AU where the Templars are Starbucks. Yeah, I know, I think something about coffee must trigger my romantic sensibilities which are usually stuck somewhere else in hibernation. Or fear. Or something. I'm bad at romance, anyway. The last chapter is some good Angst and I think some of my best angst, so there's that. It's a mite bit confusing if you don't know AC, though, but then that's the case for most fanfics of media. (I've read fanfics of media I've never consumed, though, that made perfect sense to me, so...) Anyway. Uh, yeah. Love this one. Very fond of it. Love my boys <3 Claysmond probably in the top ten for my otps. May even be top five, depending on the day. (Today? Yes.) Desmond and Clay are definitely in my top ten characters, anyway. I could not tell you where they sit, though.

Cheating to add Ginny Weasley, Veteran of War, Time Traveller, Defeater of Dark Lords, and Dark, but Good., which is a series and not a fic, and I don't think the components work as well on their lonesome. Technically hinny but for the first two fics he's dead. (actually, he's still dead in the last fic, it's just that ginny is as well. Not a spoiler.) Basically, well, read the series title: she time travels, she kills voldy, she's a bit fucked up and she's done some fucked up shit but she's still Ginny Weasley, and she's a good person at heart. Anyway, love these fics. Might've cried a little when writing. Might not. Can't prove shit you weren't there! (I did. I definitely did.) Anyway. Mostly Gen with Minor/Background Relationships. Contains Fantastic Beasts canon up to the second movie and kinda including, but veers very AU, and written before the third (which I wouldn't have acknowledged anyway, since i'm not planning on ever viewing it with mine eyes). Uh, yeah. (Premise of this fic series could actually lead to other fics/aus stemming from it..... given how Ginny gets back in the past in the first place. Sooooo that's fun!)

amg I’ve been following Maze of Memories since you’ve posted the first 5 chapters and have been anticipating each new edition because of how well you write it! 😳💖 And chapter 7 is one I’ve been anticipating bc I’m so curious to how the story will progress and Felix’s fate and YOU DELIVERED! Absolutely delivered and served 🥺💕

I had to prepare my heart bc while I know Lix’s destined for tragedy, I was hoping that he’ll make it out alright 😭 I love how you developed their relationship and I felt it deep in my heart (despite being Chan biased like HNNG DBDBD TBH IF CHAN WASNT MY BIAS IT WOULD BE FELIX SO DBDN AAA I LOVE IT SO MUCH) and I almost cried at how heartbreaking it was for y/n to find him in that state ;; LIKE AAAHHH NOOOOOOO FELIX BEBDDB I wanted to save him 😭

I felt so bad for y/n and felt how scared she was now that she’s alone and the loneliness and crushing weight it has on her because she lost the only person she can trust in this hell without a hellevator ! And the details too about what happens after the games like what happens to the fallen tributes ;; idk if it was in the book bc it’s been a while since I read the Hunger Games but I love how you added more and explored that too. I was really shocked that they won’t be returned to their families and are treated like they’re just something not worthy of rest like it was so inhumane 😭 bc they only saw them as piles of flesh and not a person :(( they’re just their for entertainment as it is ever since the beginning.

It’s so interesting to see the shift of povs too. It gave so much insight on what Felix and Chan were experiencing and feeling it made Felix’s downfall 10x more agonizing while it made me more intrigued with Chan as a character bc that budding growth and internal change 😭 also pls give yourself a pat on the back bc those fight scenes! 🥺👌🏻💕💕💕 I think you said you’re not that confident(?) with/used to writing them but I enjoyed them a lot! I think it was well written enough and was able to add depth to what happened in between and was able to keep the suspense bc ngl I was holding my breath the entire time when Felix had to go against the tributes 😭😭😭 I think you’re doing a really good job writing this series!

I’m not one for action/dystopian genres of fics but this series is one of my favorites! I’m always anticipating and excitedly waiting for each new chapter and how it plays out 😭💖💖 I’m in awe at how you did the world building and setting up the characters and how you flesh them out. Nothing feels too slow or too fast; it’s the perfect balance and the emotions THE EMOTIONSSS 😭😭😭 oh my gosh your Lix will forever live in my heart! my precious bby boy! also this is super long 😭😭😭 aaa I’m just really happy chapter 7 is posted and I had so much fun reading I’m patiently waiting for the next one and see how our main stars will develop from there 💖

Hello💓 so first of all, I thank you very much for this juicy long ask💓💓ngl, it warmed my heart and I was in a bad mood before reading it and now I’m smiling so thank you for that💕💕

I really wanted felix’s and yn’s friendship to be something that slowly built up, despite the circumstances. I wanted people to feel sad about his departure, I wanted him to be someone you got attached to so I’m glad it worked🥺although I admit it’s a bit weird without him now...

I honestly don’t remember if they returned the fallen tributes to their districts or not, but I decided to just roll with what my brain wanted. And yeah, Felix definitely made the games 10x more bearable for yn, I thought of her to be just a simple girl with no fighting skills (let’s just say like most people) and I think it would definitely be absolutely terrifying for a normal person to be thrown like that into the games. The fact that it’s an underground maze definitely doesn’t help lol.

I definitely tried with the POV shifts, writing yn and lix was not super hard, but writing chan was a bit more demanding. Like, I had to be in this mindset of a trained killer, that actually didn’t kill before the games so he didn’t know how terrifying it is. The only people he killed so far are 4 and 1, both of which either tried to kill yn and/or caused her immense pain by brutaly murdering her friend. I think that he was actually sad too when he saw that Felix was dead...

As for the world building, I’m actually surprised there’s any 😅 I don’t think I payed it enough attention while writing, but I’m glad you enjoyed it💕💕 honestly feedback like this helps a lot. I’ve realized that I am incapable of objectively judging my own works, I always see some flaws and I’m like: not enough dialogue! Too fast pacing! Way too slow! Etc etc.

But in all seriousness, I’m really glad you enjoy the series enough to send feedback like this💓 this is probably the most amazing ask I’ve ever received and I’m honored that you enjoy the series💓
