I am not immune to any cutes - including Rick and Morty cutes, unfortunately (Patreon)
#Doodles#Keroppi#Princess Tutu#Ahiru#Rick and Morty#Drizz#Tinkles the Magic Ballerina Lamb#And friend - and tree lol#Cure#And the really cute preying mantis girl from Vindicators 2 - what was with that miniseries having a bunch of cute designs anyway#This really is a RaM-heavy cutes dump - look if they're cute they're cute! I can't help that!#From the top first tho! Lol#Got the urge to draw some of my Sanrio faves - Cinnamoroll specifically - but I ended up only drawing Keroppi#I didn't think I had all that much of an opinion on Keroppi apart from y'know - cute lol but I like him quite a lot I think!#Simple little guy :) I like those kinds of squishy little guys haha#I already like Kuromi too so I guess I just?? have several faves now?? Alright cool lol bully for me#I can't explain the baseball uniform outside of the stripes and sometimes I just wanna draw a batter - OFFxSanrio when lol#Random e'phant for funsies :) I can't imagine what has me wanting to doodle a little trunk creachur for some reason haha#And then an Ahiru! Hweh!!! I'm still glad I added Princess Tutu to my rotation but hweh ;;#Might have maybe been poking around AO3 for post-canon fics of her being happy - not even necessarily Fix-It Fics just - she deserves happy!#There was a quite cute one of Fakir comforting her during a thunderstorm by running a sinkful of water for her :') Cute#And then the rest - Rick and Morty sheesh#Who could have figured there'd be so Much cutes! Like I personally kinda like the RaM aesthetic - especially the colours they're really nice#And yeah like Tinkles is designed to be endearing on purpose - which now that I think of it that's another thing I really like isn't it#Gigglepies and Osomons and Twonkies... Yeah the parasitic good-memory alien fits right in with that#Too bad we never see their real form while alive it's only their illusory form until they die aw#As mentioned Drizz and the Mantid girl are both so cute like this isn't fair honestly - and those trees??? In the flashback??#There's nearly matching ones in Webkinz actually which I think is very funny lol#Cure is absolutely no help with any of this - doesn't help that Never-Past-Bedtime-Land and Froopyland are both kinda like where she lives#I blame her for enjoying hopping back in she refuses to shy away from enjoyment pfbtl okay fine

Ellie Williams Headcanons: Ballerina!Reader
Ellie has a love hate relationship with you doing ballet.
For one, your graceful, beautiful, elegant and poised
On the other hand, your self-conscious, your always tired and she barely sees you because your always at the studio.
It was like ballet was stealing her girlfriend.
She has threatened to beat up your dance teacher before.
100% judges you when your lying on the kitchen floor smashing your pointe shoes on the floor trying to break them in.
"What the fuck are you doin' angel?" Ellie asked you when she entered the apartment and saw you stretching on the black-and-white chequered flooring that tiled your kitchen, while smashing your new point shoes- making them crack and snap in your hands.
"I'm" you grunt, compressing the satin shoe under your hands "breaking in my pointe shoes"
"Your breaking your pointe shoes? The new pointe shoes you bought yesterday"
"yep"
She was very confused
But dw you explained it to her ofc <3
Loves going into dance shops with you- watching as you start talking about all the different leotards, tutus and tights.
Her petnames for you are 'little dove, angel and flower.'
Loves picking you up from dance practice. She pulls up all confident in her nice fancy car, honking her horn when you leave the buildings.
All the bitches you've complained about to her looking at you in jealousy.
Ugh it's great.
Her giving you massages whenever you say that your muscles are achey.
It had been 6 hours of practice. Six. Fucking. Hours of other dancers messing up choreography, chatting shit and not taking the routine seriously.
It was infuriating. You loved dance, you loved ballet, you really did. But after a day of ruthless exercise and girls draining your social battery you just wanted to be at home with Ellie.
Ellie knew this of course. So as soon as you got home she had a bath ready for you, topped with bubbles and surrounded by candles. She made you your favourite food and had poured you a glass of red wine. And when you finally go to bed, she pulls up your favourite movie and massages all of your achey spots while cuddling with you.
She's such a sweetheart.
She loves seeing you perform!!
And she loves showing you off just as much!
Takes all her friends to opening night of every single show that you have.
Loves coming backstage after and spinning you in circles- your hair half undone and your face fresh but still wearing the white costume.
She pretends to not know anything about ballet because she knows how much you like explaining and talking about it with her
She actually know everything about it.
Her fave ballet is the nutcracker because that's my favourite and I said so.

i’m not sure if you do writing advice and if you don’t, feel free to ignore this! i was wondering how do you come up with such beautiful metaphors/descriptions in your writing? and are there any authors that are good examples of how to create new + striking ones? i struggle with finding new ways to describe things and i fear it’s making my writing boring :(
hi!! firstly, thank you so much for the compliment, it's incredibly kind. secondly, if i'm not mistaken you might have sent me a very similar question some months ago, and i totally forgot until now because i started to answer, draft it, then never remembered to finish it. if that was you i'm so sorry (and if it wasn’t you, i’m still very sorry to the person whose question i never answered)!! i'm not sure i ever feel entirely qualified to give writing advice, and please don’t think your writing is “boring” because it doesn’t fall into a certain style. i fully admit that i lean heavily on metaphor (which is probably obvious give you came to me with the question), but i tend to get really tired of this and wish i could write more pointed, startling prose than manages to impart emphasis without excessive description or “floweriness” (the most widely known author i can think of to point to might be chuck palahniuk, but on tumblr i also think abby aka @exalibur manages this beautifully). we are always hardest on ourselves, and the grass always looks greener on the other side of the stylistic hill.
ocean vuong discusses metaphor in particular better than i ever could, and there’s some reposts of stories he made on the subject here. i also think heather o'neill would be a fantastic person to look at for metaphor, particular her latest book when we lost our heads (albeit possibly my fave modern book is the lonely hearts hotel, if you read this please come scream to me about it). i pulled a couple quotes of o’neills from the former to use as example, which also fall in line with what vuong outlines:
The mansion was surrounded by a thick bed of beautifully kept pink roses. They were like ballerinas taking a break and sitting down in their tutus. darling. delightful. feminine. and with context, the home of a girl who would put sofia coppola’s marie antoinette moodboard to shame: precious, precocious, and doll-like. She found the violin, took it out of the case, and tried playing a note on it. It sounded like a black cat who was on the gallows confessing to all the bad luck it had caused. this character refused to play piano because she found every sound it made too happy, and didn’t feel it ‘matched her soul,’ which is why she would eventually try the violin. for a girl who would inadvertently murder someone, and spend much of her life wearing black and writing startling erotica, it’s also entirely on-theme. there’s obviously a lot of ways one could describe roses or the sound of a violin, but each fits perfectly into the respective character. if in the first quote the roses has been described as heavy red roses bowing reluctantly under the weight of a snowdrift like angry russian courtiers, you’re going to get a very different impression of the moment. as with the sound of the violin, if it has been described as a lonesome widow calling to her drowned lover from the pier, it’s going to completely alter the reader’s perception. so while these devices can create beautiful things to read in isolation, the most impactful ones are about more than saying something in a creative way: they add to the desired ambiance!
i know none of that is particularly instructive as to how i or others come up with descriptions, but i think that’s going to be very individual to the person! i personally like to think of it as the association game. i’d like to say it’s something more sophisticated than that, but a lot of the time it really does some down to just pausing for a moment and running along an evolution of images: the roses are red. what other physical objects are red? what emotions do we associate with red? what acts are those emotions elicited by? what sensations do we experience in those actions? there’s no right or wrong way to come up with your descriptive text, but don’t be afraid to take continual leaps not only forward, but backwards and sideways until you find something you like. even if you struggle to feel like you’re not being ‘original’ in the comparisons you’re drawing, there’s always ways to make something more ‘obvious’ less cliche. want to describe the colour red but can only think of roses? that’s okay! just rip it up a bit. turn it to sit on its side. think of a way to make it new. apply the notion of trying to impart something in your metaphor: where can a rose be seen, in what context can they be given or seen? instead of saying her lips were red as roses, there’s something like her lips were the red of a rose you’d find abandoned at the stage door, leaning its forgotten head across the last stoop. finally, it’s overstated (and you probably already know this given how you framed the question), but it also can’t be said enough: reading is your friend! while i definitely recommend the authors i mentioned above (or catherynne m valente, or janet fitch, or i remember reading how much of these hills is gold by c. pam zhang in the summer and thinking there was a gorgeous command of language), i think reading of any kind is going to give you a benefit. it’s just stretching the creative muscle, taking in new phrases, words, and ways to apply them. if you’re feeling mentally a bit bogged up, you could even listen to some spoken word poetry on youtube! i never know if any of my ““advice”” makes sense, but i hope this does, or that it helps in some small way!! ♡

So you've watched a lot of different shows through the patreon and kori donations
If it's not too time consuming I was wondering how you would summarize those shows in a sentence or two
Or maybe just do the most memorable ones?
Not a bad idea! Here’s a one-sentence summary and a one-sentence personal note on every show I’ve reviewed more than one episode of on this blog. TLDR I’ve pretty much enjoyed everything that appears on this blog, though for different reasons. Links to all my posts about these shows can be found here!
This is turning out to be a rather long post so I’m going to throw the list under a Read More.
ANIME
Sailor Moon: I feel compelled to list it here but, like, I think you know enough about Sailor Moon by now.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun: Group of high schoolers write and draw a romance manga while simultaneously living the most chaotic reversal of common romance tropes. SO happy this was recommended to me because I never would have picked it up on my own but it’s officially a new favorite!!!
The Case Files of Jeweler Richard: Gem expert and his assistant solve rock-related mysteries while engaging in homoromantic behavior. A lesser known franchise that I think deserves more love!
Snow White with the Red Hair: Herbologist in a medieval fantasy environment escapes her oppressive government and starts a new life in a neighboring kingdom where SHE makes decisions about her life. I’m not even that far into the series but I am OBSESSED with the premise and all the character dynamics are so genuine and honest in a way I can’t describe.
Penguindrum: Himari dies of Glamorous Victorian Illness but is resurrected by the Penguin God in exchange for a favor. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far, although it is Ikuhara so it’s often confusing and abstract and all the characters need therapy.
Madoka: Being a magical girl is bad actually due to the amount of sacrifice involved. Reviewing this one is so effortless because there’s SO much material to talk about and it has such a well-established presence in the mainstream pop cultural consciousness.
My Next Life as a Villainess: Girl is reincarnated as the villain in an otome game and rewrites the script by being nice. I’ve compared it to the Good Place which is one of my favorite shows, and I cannot get enough of these characters, especially, of course, our angel queen, Catarina.
Cardcaptor Sakura (and Clear Card): Sakura has to capture all the cards. I LOVE the low stakes, slow pace, sweet and friendly vibe of this show, which might frustrate some people, but for me it’s the very definition of a comfort anime.
Zenonzard: Speaking of cards; apparently a witch created a card game to get revenge on humanity and now it’s the future where everything is neon, there’s humanoid robots all over the place, and card games are a gladiatorial sport. The visuals are amazing, the world is fascinating, and overall I’m impressed with an anime that’s based on an app.
Princess Tutu: Duck turns into a ballerina and uses unconditional kindness to save everyone from sad feelings, while ALSO working against the author who is writing her fairytale. I can’t describe how much an impact this show left on me!! A Big Fave!!
Revolutionary Girl Utena: High schoolers with swords fight each other for a shot at finding something eternal. If you read this blog, you already know I had a delightful time with this series.
Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!: Three girls use their skills to make a hand-drawn anime. I only reviewed the first two episodes, but I had watched it while it was airing. I love series that delve really deep into a niche subject, and this one tackles the animation process in a fun accessible way while ALSO having a wonderful trio of protagonists with wildly unique personalities.
Fruits Basket 2019: Professional Cinnamon Roll Tohru collects friends who can turn into the zodiac animals. From what I’ve seen, the characters and relationships are a huge strong point in this series. I want to give them all a hug. This fell by the wayside a little while ago but I would love to get back into it!
CARTOON
Gargoyles: They are gargoyles, who come to life at night. Never got into it as a kid, but certainly appreciate it now!
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts: Girl from futuristic underground city arrives on the surface to find out that animals have taken over and have developed arts and culture. It’s so refreshing to see a post apocalyptic world that’s NOT a dystopia! It’s not earth as we know it, but it’s still bright and colorful and full of art.
LIVE ACTION
PGSM: I don’t think I need to list a summary, but WATCH PGSM OH MY GOD. Sailor Moon but with soap opera levels of drama, a killer soundtrack, an incredible cast, puppets, and a really cool reimagining of the Silver Millennium mythos.
Tokusatsu Gagaga: Office lady tries to hide her obsession with tokusatsu shows and makes friends who have similar interests. I fell fast and hard for Gagaga; if you’re a nerd who has tried to function in a non-nerd environment, you WILL relate to this 7-part series!!
Russian Doll: Natasha Lyonne relives the same day over and over and has to make connections in her life. First introduced to me when it won a Patreon vote, and even though it was different from my usual content, I was enraptured by the dark comedy and surreal vibe. Thursday, what a concept.
Good Omens: An angel and a demon low-key turn their backs on Satan and God in order to prevent a war between heaven and hell. I can’t even think of an adjective that’s good enough to describe how well this miniseries was translated from the book. Legendary casting, satisfying plot twists, hilarious commentary on religion.
Cutie Honey The Live: Robot girl fights off an organization that turns people into living weapons through various wacky schemes. Over-the-top in all senses of the phrase. I love a show that’s extremely silly, but takes itself seriously.
Gokushufudo: Former yakuza member becomes a househusband. Only just started this series but man, with a premise like that, how can you NOT fall in love.
#And this isn't even a list of my favorite shows that i HAVENT reviewed#i've been writing one sentence book reviews on goodreads and now i'm very into that method lol#from the ask box#Anonymous

NTAMW has a fetish. I posted a drawing on Deviantart of one of my very clearly child ponysonas in a tutu because she's a ballerina, and immediately it got faved by a bunch of tutu fetishists. Men really make a fetish out of everything, I hate it so much. I hate knowing everything I do will be sexualized in some way.

so we know your favorite mahou shoujo group designs, but which magical girl has your favorite individual design?
I can’t pick a single favourite design, but here’s a list of ones I really like, in no particular order.
I love Princess Tutu, she has such a lovely and soft design that’s distinctly ballerina but also strange enough to be a magical girl. Especially the weird hair is wonderful. She also pairs well with Princess Kraehe, but I suppose that doesn’t answer the question about individual designs.
Also while I have zero emotional attachment to Sailor Moon, I have to say that the titular character has an amazing design. The odango hairstyle and the sailor collar style are simple but memorable. And now in 2019 her red-blue-yellow colour palette definitely stands out since after her it has apparently been decided that little girls absolutely have to like pink the best.
I also know very little about Balala the Fairies, but seeing Jellyfish Balala on my dash makes me very happy every time so I suppose I really like her design too. Which is a pretty good achievement from the Pink Girl!
MagiPro has a ton of incredible designs, but I’m going to be a bit boring and say that the main character’s is my current fave. Snow White uses magical girl design elements and specifically looks like a magical girl and not just any fantasy character, but also manages to avoid the worn out cliches, and there’s nothing stupid about her look. Real shame that Marui-no has been changing her hair from platinum blonde to a more pinkish shade...
Then there’s Princess of the Crystal from Mawaru Penguindrum, who in all honesty I don’t even really consider to be a magical girl, but she gets to be on this blog due to some vague connection to magical girl tropes, and most importantly an amazing design.
Lastly Tsukurotte Piature, where I love the pink girl’s fresh and unique and a little silly look. I was so bummed out when I learned this wasn’t an actual show…
And then some honourable mentions: Sugar Sugar Rune also has super cute and distinct art style and the author has design sense on the same level as CLAMP (+Vanilla’s poofy hair looks so soft and lovely), but I like that more as a whole and can’t pick or really even remember an individual design. Creamy Mami has a super appealing colour palette. Also all of Aoki Ume’s designs are really good, but I’m not exactly passionate about any single one out of them. And then there’s Stocking from PSG; I don’t really have an opinion on the dress but I love her hair. Finally a shout-out to Kazumi from Kazumi Magica whose design I would otherwise put in top tier, but the fanservice aspect is just so stupid that I can’t ignore it.

💔I am not tall enough to be a Rockette 👯♀️👯♀️ 💔Dancers don’t have big booties or muscles 💔I have three big tattoos (for now 😉) and I love each of them with all my heart. But how many ballerinas do you see with a thigh tattoo?? I have been a dancer for almost half of my life (Not including twirling around in a diaper and a tutu when I was a lil thing!). There were definitely moments when I questioned my “worthiness” as a dancer, just because I was a different shape. When I felt less beautiful, less graceful, and less like my hours of training meant anything in the long term. The truth? 💕 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝗪𝐀𝐘.
I’d been criticizing myself for YEARS. Wellllll…… it was a fast track to destination heartbreak and self-loathing. 💔 So I tried something different: Loving myself, and choosing gratitude for what my body can do. It can MOVE, and far too many people are robbed of that ability.

@artontrial its one of two whole Animes i've seen, called princess tutu. its a 26 ep series kinda 2-act deal with an overarching story......in the first ep its introduced in the School Anime deal where a girl at a boarding school is weird and late for class and has a crush on an older student, and then by the end of the ep it turns out its actually a Magical Girl thing. and then it just drops in the fact that random students being weird animals is apparently a totally normal thing, which is kind of jarring but that ends up being on purpose. its about ballet students where its gradually revealed that the central cast is sort of possibly characters from a fairy tale that's crossed over into reality and not many people are aware of that fact. its wild because the fairy tale in question is supposed to be tragic for everyone, so thats kind of a conflict for everyone who is apparently overlapping with characters in the story once the main character starts putting the events of the story into motion by finding shards of a prince's heart. because one of the people is a prince from the story who shattered his heart with magic to magically seal away an evil giant raven who was killing everybody. so now he's still alive and all, just incapable of aging and also emotionless so he's also incapable of making his own decisions save for following the instinct to protect the helpless. and the main character gets her magical girl transformation sequence when she finds a piece of the prince's heart and needs to recover it and becomes a character from the story called princess tutu who is an excellent dancer and has some magic powers and unfortunately is fated to vanish from existence. and unfortunately other people who know about the prince and the existence of the story are not a fan of this, because if the prince completely regains his heart the giant evil raven won't be sealed away anymore. also, because they all might die, what with the story (though technically unfinished) meant to be tragic and dictating some of their associated characters demises and all. the guys in opposition are some dude who is super possessive/controlling of the heartless prince who might be a knight of the prince from the story who gets killed by the raven, i can never be that into his character tho i like the idea of the knights story. the girl in the gifs also gets a magical girl transformation sequence to become a character trying to thwart princess tutu, and who's the daughter of the evil raven and after the prince as the only person who could love her. but in between showdowns and magic escapades, the prince and the knight / evil princess / good princess counterparts are all just ballet students at the same vaguely academy. also, the main character, in addition to finding out she can sometimes turn into a magical ballerina princess, finds out she is also actually a duck. and i think its set in germany and at times the art styles of the bg are all german expressionism sorry this is so long but even the setup is pretty convoluted and takes a few eps to come to light. tldr: ballet students are actually kind of living in an overarching ballet. the girl in the gifs is by day an advanced ballet student trying to date the prince who is just another advanced ballet student, by night the seen-here daughter of the evil raven that the prince is in a battle-in-stasis with yet is also trying to like marry the prince. a lot of the animation for the ballet is pretty good. and the plot is really interesting and what is introduced as a fairly simple story gets pretty complicated pretty fast. i like it a lot and the characters are good except i can never much be about the one guy, but he's given a good amount of complexity too. people who think the prince is a boring character is weak btw, him and the two main girls and the boring guys fairy-tale counterpart are my faves oh, and it has one of the actual best amvs ever. over a million views. its a bit spoilery although if youre watching it having not seen the series you wont be able to figure out the whole plot from it or anything like that
