#my babysitter’s a vampire: revamped

Hello Whitechapel,

Welcome to Revamped, a My Babysitter’s a Vampire fan-project led by a group of three young adults. You can call us Evellow! This account is dedicated to the revival project for the beloved childhood Canadian classic, and we would love to have you join us in the development and release of the series.

How is the series going to be formatted though? Well, after some deliberation between whether or not it should be uploaded via AO3 in classic fan-fiction format, or written in screen-write format to truly emulate the feeling of it being a show, we’ve gone with screen-write style. It is not, however, an actual multi-media or web series.

We currently aim to upload each episode script on here in google doc PDF form, though we are open to other platform options if requested and given time to think through.

This is a completely non-profit project, and we are unaffiliated with any professional individuals involved in the making of My Babysitter’s a Vampire. This is nothing more than something fun for us to do, similar to that of a fanfiction.

While you will of course recognize all the familiar ‘faces’—or rather names, of the well-adored main characters and some similar plot lines, we look forward to you hopefully welcoming a select few new characters and plot developments in this queer-friendly, amp-up-the-horror retelling of the show.

As we work towards the release of the pilot script, keep an eye out for fun creations from our team such as photo edits, “cast” releases, short stories, fanfics (inception?), and more.

mbav (season 1) hungarian dub notes

‎i know that translational changes are necessary for things to make sense in another language, but i'll take minor tweaks as something worth sharing. this is just for fun !!

the title is translated to our vampire, the babysitter <3

erica: “these girls have been telling me to bite them for years" → "these girls have been telling me to suck it for years" like the vulgar expression to suck a dick. ok

ethan straight up refers to his underwear in cheer uniform as thongs. off to a strong start

blood drive

ethan (to sarah): “take two [cookies]” → “you can take mine too” its so cute. however he grumbles instead of saying “come on” when leading her out of the room

b: “to bore them to death?” → “to make them laugh at us [in a ridiculing way]?” honestly makes sense idk why a vampire nurse story would bore anyone to death

guys and dolls

when ethan’s parents go upstairs u can overhear rory talking to debbie dazzle and originally u can’t hear much of what he’s saying just giggling & something about making out. you hear this clear dialogue in hungarian: “so when i eat like a pig, i gag this much while brushing my teeth. so i prefer chewing gum instead. if you want to make out, i can chew one right now” right before they show him saying he knows where the best gum in town is

at the disco beach party for jane when debbie winks, originally there’s no more dialogue, but in hungarian ethan says “this is so cool!” :)))))))))))

double negative

in the og evil!hannah says “how about i say this? you’re a pathetic little weasel!” in the translation she says something non-hungarian??? like it’s not in my language idk wth it means i posted the audio when i tried figuring it out with scripts and numerous google searches but couldn't detect it

ethan says “i chickened out” (about asking sarah out) in a high-pitched voice like he’s making fun of himself ?????

originally benny says nothing after his grandma leaves and bids them good night but they add him saying “that’s tough” cuz he opens his mouth slightly so they felt the need to add something? lol

erica: “serious mullet fail” → “seriously sprained/damned taste”

r: “good thing you’re bad at magic” → “good thing you’re a lame witch [very feminine term]” 

the brewed

instead of teethan they called him tetün which is basically louse + ethan… and yea he says it sounds cute coming from sarah 😭

this just made me giggle but since they have to lower original sounds when dubbing something, they sometimes add their own effects. the only added sound i detected was them adding a loud door handle sound when a zombie opens a door with a knob. and the sound is late

jesse: "my favorite fledgling" → "my dearest little rookie" there's a translation for fledgling throughout the show so idk why he'd say this

The biggest plot hole in my babysitter’s a vampire is when Jesse bit Ethan to give Sarah the choice of either her becoming a full vampire or Ethan becoming a fledgling. Erica was literally right there. She could have save Ethan and Sarah would still be a fledgling. But nobody thought of that, did they?

1. 2.11 “Halloweird”

this episode definitely changed me as a person, and for good reason: the hair, the popped collar, the makeup, and fangs? sensational, 20/10

2. 2.12/2.13 “The Date to End All Dates”

this episode almost deserves number 1 for having almost every outfit be an absolute serve, very rare but incredibly appreciated. he looks best in layers and really proves it here, 11/10

3. My Babysitter’s a Vampire (2010)

the hoodie/jean jacket combo is incredible and works every time, and 90% of this list is me trying to prove that ethan looks best with layered clothes, 10/10

4. 2.8 “Independence Daze”

same as above, he looks his best with a jacket and hoodie layered, he needs to leave the t-shirts behind. 10/10

5. 1.1 “Lawn of the Dead”

sarah said it best: “totally rocking the sweater vest, mister. stylish, yet stupid.” he looks incredibly dorky but he pulls it off, solid 9/10

6. 1.13 “Jesse’s Girl/ReVamped”

can’t go wrong with black-tie formalwear, and ethan definitely pulls it off… sadly i cannot rank this higher as benny out-dressed ethan embarrassingly hard, 8/10

7. 2.3 “Fanged and Furious”

THE JEAN JACKET RETURNS!! love the jacket overtop the purple button up, i cannot emphasize how much i love layers! 8/10

8. 2.9 “Siren Song”

ethan’s muse-atronics stage outfit is great, obsessed with the windbreaker over the button up… and the singular fingerless glove brings it up a notch, 7/10

9. 2.2 “Say You’ll Be Maztak”/2.1 “Welcome Back Dusker”/2.9 “Siren Song”

this might be his most reoccurring look (which i can’t really blame him for, the dark hoodie with the purple shirt is a nice look), so i legally have to include it, i like it… though i much prefer it with the jean jacket overtop in the movie, 6/10

10. 1.10 “Doug the Vampire Hunter”/1.2 “Three Cheers for Evil”/1.4 “Guys & Dolls”

these are here purely because of how incredible and ridiculous they are (ethan in a cheerleading uniform is too good to leave out) 100/10

alright that’s it, ethan’s best outfits… i don’t know what compelled me to make this but it was fun

I want to start kind of fresh so I need some new requests to get me started. Go ahead and send in fandom imagines and I’ll see what I can do. Please include the fandom it’s from to make it easier to understand. I had a lot of old ones that just said stuff like Peter and I was like Pan? Quill? Parker? 

I keep stuff gender neutral so no fem/male/etc specific stuff. Keep it PG cause even though I’m 21 now most of these characters are based off high school kids even though the actors are my age too. 

Fandoms I do that I can think of off the top of my head, I’ll make a better list once I fix everything:

Descendants, Zombies, My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Big Time Rush, Stardew Valley, Teen Wolf, Marvel anything, Lab Rats, disney anything is pretty much on the table, the outsiders, until dawn, Detroit, skyrim, fallout 3, new vegas, 4, total drama my brain is a little dead but you get the idea.

MEET THE CAST

Hi guys I’m driving back into my comfort because I’m really stressed out right now💕 my comfort being my babysitters a vampire!!!! I just ate so much candy and I’m low-key thinking about sneaking out to go to the park tonight but I feel like Gwen would kill me if I did that. AnyWho I can’t sleep so I’m going to write a basis for a Christmas episode!!!!! I don’t know I think it might be interesting. Especially since my babysitters a vampire and never actually got that far- they got to Halloween but they never had a New Year’s or Christmas special which kind of makes me sad because I only have A Halloween special to look back to. Low-key kind a wish they made a Christmas movie. I think that would’ve been cool like one where Rory accidentally hits Santa Claus when he’s flying!!!! And Santa Claus lands in Ethan‘s house just plop right on top of his roof. I don’t know I think that it needed more episodes and I’m completely up to write at least basis is to them!  if somebody wants to help me write a script in the future I kind a low-key want to write the revamp of it- like I had an entire idea seriously.

So if Mbav was a disney show how do you think they would change the name to save money

I love this question a lot (referring to this post) because it allows me to think of a world where mbav gets more than two seasons lol. I had to think long and hard about this one, since Disney has never really done a series like this before on their own, but usually the change in name also came with a change in location, so I'd like to imagine that Disney would do some lame shit like having the final season take place in Transylvania where the fang gang is on foreign exchange or something. The characters ages and grades could get messy QUICK but I can see them doing something along the line of Benny, Rory, and Ethan are leaving on exchange and his parents make Sarah go with them as a teachers assistant or something so she can still babysit him while he's away. Then Erica can sneak in so she can be with Sarah or something along those lines.

So since the Disney Channel airing changed the name of the S1E13 to "Jesse's Girl", I could see them calling the show something like: My Babysitter's a Vampire: Revamped. Although personally, if they named the show My Babysitter's a Vampire: The Series Does: Transylvania, then I would be happy.

So there's my Disney Channel read of mbav, or mbavr, or mbavtsdt ;)

What if in MBAV the color of a vampire’s eyes meant different things, like it does in Teen Wolf? Like, they are typically yellow, but if they wound up killing someone (who’s human) that they loved dearly or really cared about because they lost control and they deeply regret it afterward and that person’s death will always haunt their memory and heart forever, then it causes their vampire eyes to be permanently blue. Maybe that’s why Jesse’s are blue? Either that or it was just a minor fluke on the makeup department’s end, and they wound up using the wrong-colored contacts for his eyes in “Revamped”. Lol! 😜✌
