COMING NOV 22 - CATS KNOW THINGS
Tumblr media
CATS KNOW THINGS is a light-hearted game meant to tell a humorous story of intrigue, all while pretending to be a very nosy cat.
But you are no ordinary cat.
You are a very special feline who, through some magic you cannot explain, can communicate with your human, an individual who wishes to make their mark in society by any means necessary. The two of you decide to start a society page, (a very fancy type of tabloid newspaper dedicated to a particular location) revealing the glitz, glamour, and inner turmoil of the town’s most notable individuals.
As the cat you will travel across town, using your stealth and wiles to listen in on the most intimate conversations and encounters. At the end of the day you return to your human to relay to them all the town’s salacious gossip for the society page. The goal is to prepare 6-8 items for the newspaper before your human sends them to the presses for the week.
CATS KNOW THINGS will be available on our Itch.io store at 9am PST on November 22!! Please reblog to get the work out! We're really excited to share this game with you!

witches enjoying a sweet treat i felt randomly compelled to draw the girls eating some kolache. yagoda on the left has a standard, bagel-like treat, while amanita has a frgal - a pie version from moravian wallachia. the outfit on the right is inspired by one of the ones from kyjov (located in moravian slovakia, czechia), the one on the left is inspired by a male eastern cracovian outfit (which is polish but i simply Cannot separate the girlies)

Selene from Dragon's Dogma
Just wanted to draw Selene the Witch, my favorite character from Dragon's Dogma. I was already drawn to her design, but after getting to know her story I became attached to her. Kinda hope the upcoming sequel will have a witch like her in it as well

Casually wishing I could remember more about Little Witch Academia so I can figure out what Sucy would think of The Last of Us.
(Pretty sure she’d be rooting for the cordyceps.)

Hello! Happy STS Saturday, K! What does your worldbuilding process look like (if you have one that is)? How much research do you do before you outline or begin writing your first draft? Do your worldbuild first and then write, or do both simultaneously (like me, lmao)?
Hello! It's not quite Saturday anymore (I fell asleep halfway through answering asks...) but I'm still happy to play ^.^
The terrible answer is that I kinda don't have a worldbuilding process, but let me expand on that. Almost all my WIP ideas come from a moment of thinking "what if x scenario happened", and then I have to sit there and think about what kind of world would allow x scenario to happen. Sometimes that initial thought has a fair bit of knowledge attached, sometimes I have to start from scratch. After that, everything gets relegated to an empty cave in my brain to grow (kinda like a fungus) in what I call the "Land of Cool".
In the Land of Cool, silly things like plot coherence and realism don't exist. It is a place where the phrase "but what if..." reigns as a brilliant and terrible dictator. Any idea is free game as long as it is 'cool'. This promotes the little fungal spore of an idea to grow into the creeping, all-consuming mass that is required for a proper WIP. This stage can last for years, depending on how big the idea needs to be, how intricate it is, and how much time I have to devote to feeding it.
After an idea has gained enough mass to really be workable, then I take it out and start to really work with it. This is kinda where I'm at with Shapeshifter. I'm still constantly researching and adding more stuff to the already-established canon, even as I'm trying to write the story. I don't think it's very fun to go into something already knowing all the facts, you know? Part of the fun of writing - for me, at least - is discovering new aspects of the world you're making as you make it. I've been working on Shapeshifter for almost three years now and I'm constantly finding new things in its world, or new areas I can work on.

Now that the movie is out (I really liked it [especially the music]), seems like a good time to share this art I made when the cast was announced.

Hello Cheea!! I really loved the 3 day and I can't stop thinking about it and making theories, but I was thinking, how did you come up with the name of Mushroom Oasis?
Funnily enough, Mushroom Oasis was meant to be a title saved for another project. It was gonna be an OC story thing that I was planning to animate back when I was still doing that for youtube (like animated shorts and such) and it involved witches and magic and mushrooms (barely). I held onto the title for months.
But since I needed a name for this project, I might as well take it! Crazy how that turned out. And now it's a yandere visual novel game people really like a lot! Haha!
