“obsess over a character and draw them nonstop to get good” is so true cause look at how many times i drew my favorite blorbo, phantom from maplestory, until i started to get good.

Despite Maplestory being a world of bobbleheads, a few of the armor sets- especially for thieves- are surprisingly scanty. I'm pretty indifferent to this but I thought it'd be funny to draw the two thief characters I'm currently playing in their own idea of 'light outfits'.

#maplestory#looked through my folder of amusing pictures again and saw this#not sure why i wanted to meme this one but you know what. sure here we go#tfw realizing again that cadena and illium came out 7 years ago#i wonder if they'll update the character portraits for them + ark + maybe adele since they are now years old#maybe if we see another blockbuster but it seems like nexon isn't interested in doing blockbusters after heroes of maple#according to namu wiki heroes of maple got a lot of controversy for how the characters were depicted#stuff like luminous and phantom fighting or mercedes having a hair trigger temper was too out of character#and also i think people just didn't really like how the blockbuster was structured#so that's probably why we never saw them do another blockbuster after heroes of maple...#the fact that they've updated black heaven and heroes of maple recently does give a bit of hope that blockbusters aren't entirely abandoned#but eh. as much as i would like to see them do a blockbuster again i don't really see nexon in its current state doing it

Gods I'm a fucking old-ass veteran of that game. I began playing in 2009 and I actually quit in like 2019 iirc. Few years ago I got a private server, and I was playing up until this year and then just fell out of favor. But damn that game is nostalgic af!!! It's awesome!!! <3 I'm genuinely SO glad to see others who played it!!!!
RIP Lionheart Castle to the Kaiser hackers, and the Demon Slayer spammers. XD
MAPLESTORY MENTIONED <3 i played from 2008 until .... gosh, i don't even remember when i stopped, it sort of fizzled out for me as the game got less fun and more pay to win. the last couple of times i launched it even the biggest hubs were completely empty, no heneseys hoes to be seen even in channel 1 u _ u absolute ghost town. and all my characters are on windia, which used to be one of the most popular servers! Not Anymore I Guess
it's the kind of game that i feel like... even if you're in a popular server or something, even if you're in a private server, it just takes too much dedication to play anymore. it's not really for casual people anymore, the whole community and culture is totally different now and it makes me sad. i feel like 2008 ~ 2014 was Peak and then it started to fall apart after that, too much grinding and not enough fun anymore.

STAPLE of my childhood. i dont think there's any game i've played more than maplestory legitimately#at least i got my main to lv 200. that was my big goal. i knew people who could do that in 3 days but it used to be a challenge#certainly took me. like. 5 years djhbksdbfhj

Phantom picked exactly the wrong person to vent to about his training woes and Luminous is about to get himself banned from the Lumiere by suggesting a 5AM daily jogging routine.
