➠ @jesvshotsaucechristmascake asked: “ i’m not sure i know who i’m supposed to be anymore. ”
Tumblr media
.·:*¨ ✘★✘ ¨*:·.  Josh considered the words carefully. He hadn't known Mike to be the doubtful type, but in the wake of the horrors they found on Blackwood Mountain, it seemed he was learning a lot about his friend that he didn't know before. One thing Josh did know for sure, though, was that Mike wasn't usually the type to talk about such vulnerability. He was good at keeping up the good natured, party boy façade. That made the confession hit all the more harder.
The pair had been sitting on Josh's back deck, sharing a joint. Wolfie seemed all too happy to be outdoors and was currently lounging by the pool, panting happily. The sun was starting to go down, making things a little cooler, but it was still nice out in Josh's opinion. "Maybe that's your problem," he offered, no hint of a joke or tease in voice. "Maybe you're not supposed to be anyone. Your mom's way too intense with your appearance, but it's not just her. In school, you always seemed to do whatever just to make your friends happy. Even Emily walked all over you when you guys were together. Not trying to be harsh, bro, but you literally went through hell. Fuck man, not even all of you made it back." He glanced to the missing fingers briefly.
"Maybe instead of 'supposed to be', you should be asking what you 'could be'." He shook his head and grabbed the joint from the ash tray, lighting it up for another toke. "Shit, I sound like an army ad." He breathed in, then added in clarification, "What do you want to be?" Exhaling the smoke, the offered the joint.

.·:*¨ ✘★✘ ¨*:·.  It wasn't easy for Josh to talk about what happened at the Washington estate. So much had changed since then. He was back on his meds and had gone through a facility to help put his mind back together. Even now, though, he felt like he was holding everything together by a thin thread that threatened to snap at any moment. "Was it really wasted? I mean look, you got your old Josh back," he said with an attempt at a little levity.
OPEN STARTER !
Tumblr media
❝                    We’re always talking AROUND it, and now, I mean, we’ve wasted everything!❞ At the last word, Ashley’s voice CRACKED. Her tone was both DESPERATE and DEFEATED, as shoulders crumbled in one fluid motion. Perhaps now wasn’t the best TIME for such a topic to be discussed, but better now than NEVER right?

the crazy ass boys gang or yandere until dawn boys spending the holidays with the reader/reader’s family? 👀
A/N: a little late on this but better now than never! happy holidays my loves (tried to keep the headcanons vague so you could imagine a variety of winter holidays in here, but i'm sorry if it's still christmas centric, honey, that's what i celebrate and so i tend to get carried away with it)
TIP-JAR
crazy ass boys gang + spending the holidays with reader
billy loomis:
It will be a hard sell to get him to enjoy the holidays with you. I won't lie to you. The reason? Besides the fact that he thinks he's too cool for the holidays, they bring up a lot of.... undealt with feelings regarding his own family. You might be tempted to let him grump it out because that will be easier. Resist! He wants you to pull him from his totally-not-seasonal-depression into holiday bliss with you. He just wants you to earn it.
So put on your working boots and get to it. Drag him into tradition, decorate the house, fill it with the smell of well-cooked food. Eventually, the cheer and vigor with which you do everything will get to him. He'll begrudgingly join in and find himself enjoying the holidays for the first time in years.
Pick one battle at a time and leave the roadblock of celebrating with your family for next year's holiday season. Trust me.
josh washington:
Polar opposite of Billy. He loves the holidays. All of the holidays! He's incredibly happy to spend them with you, no matter how many years you've spent them together before. Each year feels special to him, in the corniest way possible.
The biggest problem during the holiday season is deciding who you'll be celebrating with. Are you going to party with mutual friends this year? Go to his family's house or yours? Everyone wants to see you two during the holidays. You're everyone's favorite couple.
You two sometimes stretch yourselves a little thin, practically promising to be in two places at once! While that can add stress to the most magical time of the year, you try and relax and focus on what really matters in your few moments of downtime: each other.
stu macher:
Stu isn't one for traditional holidays at home with the family because that's never how he spent his growing up. The holidays meant trips around the world to far-off places. He doesn't want to give that up now that you're together. In fact, he wants to travel even more, especially if you aren't well-traveled.
The holidays for Stu are synonymous with adventure. If you humor him, he'll make it worth your while and let you pick the location of your trip. The best part is, no matter how expensive the trip gets, he pays for the whole thing.
His family has the money. Why not spend it? Actually, the best part is one of his love languages, as a rich boy, is gift-giving... and he does not consider paying for the holiday vacation his holiday gift to you. You're getting that expensive vacation plus a boatload of gifts under the Christmas tree. He knows how to spoil his partner when he wants to, that's for sure.
jd/jason dean:
Is completely willing to spend the holidays with your family (but I cannot stress this enough); do not take him home to celebrate with your family unless you have a perfect relationship with every single member. He will sense discord in relationships and he will choose to say the tiniest remark perfect for igniting holiday chaos and discontent.
Why? He couldn't tell you why. Maybe chaos is more fun than holiday harmony. When he senses a problem, his instinct is to dig into that problem to find its source. It's an addiction of his.
Other than that, during the holidays, instead of succumbing to melancholy over the past, he strives to make your time together as sweet as possible. He goes along with tradition with minimal cynical commentary and enjoys the happiness the holidays bring you. If you're content, he's content.
kevin khatchadourian:
As disrespectfully as possible, he hates the holidays and hates that you want to celebrate them. Any of them. The more you push, the more irritated he becomes.
Everything about the holidays highlights all the parts of society he finds most unpalatable. The fake cheer people greet each other with. Consumerism. The vigor with which they adore and worship their religious figures. It all makes him sick.
Still... there is a certain glow about you around this time of year. So when you ask him to do things, he goes along with your inane wishes with gritted teeth holding back the venomous words he wants so badly to say (do you have any idea how much he holds back for your sake?) Compliance is truly the best gift you can receive from Kevin any time of year.
nathan prescott:
Before you, he'd spend most of his holidays under the influence of whatever substance he could get his hands on first. He's slowed down on the abuse of most things since being with you. Still, the holidays are no walk in the park for him.
There's no way you'll spend the holidays with his family, even if his father "requested" his presence. He'd break his own leg to keep from having to look his father in the eye.
When you bring up the possibility of spending the holidays with your family, he's a little upset, he wanted to spend the holidays with you. When you clarify that you meant the two of you spending time with your family... well, he had a small panic attack, admittedly.
No matter how much you reassure him that everything will be fine, nothing helps until he actually meets your family and is warmly received. He'll be a little awkward the entire time, but the sheer warmth of love coming from everyone around him is enough to make him cry. Come next year it will be Nathan who suggests spending the holidays with your family again.
sebastian valmont:
To Sebastian, the holidays means receiving a few very expensive (but ultimately quite meaningless) gifts from his father which he reciprocates and then going back to pretending, like neither the holidays nor his father, exist. Cold? Certainly. Sad? Absolutely. But that's how it's always been.
If there was ever a Christmas full of love, it happened before he could remember, so it might as well have never happened at all.
Now you're here and things are different. There's a buzz in the air this time of year. You talk, you dance, you cook, you smile. You do everything together, attached at the hip. You drag him to spend time with your family and even that is tolerable, and Sebastian hates spending time with anyone's family (even yours.)
Being with you has been blissful, even with everything you had to overcome to be happy with one another. How well the holidays went will cement the knowledge in his head that you're what's it for him. You're what he wants, for now and always.
He'll surprise you on New Years Eve with one last tiny present, or that's what he tells you, as he puts you in the car and drives you to an unknown location, blindfolded the whole way there. When you arrive, he'll guide you tenderly up some steps and through a door, and then he'll take off the blindfold. You'll be standing in the most beautiful home you've ever seen. A place plucked directly from your wildest dreams (or all your late night talks with Sebastian).
"Move in with me?" He'd say, somehow smug and earnest at the exact same time.
It's a wonderful way to bring in the New Year.
david mccall:
Will insist on spending time with your family if your relationship with them is good. But if it's bad? Even better, he gets you all to himself.
Goes along with everything you want to do. He's at your beck and call. Whatever you want is yours and nothing you ask is too much. He'll cook with you for hours. He'll clean the house from top to bottom and then smile when you tell him you still have to decorate together. He loves the domesticity of it all.
When you give him his gift he'll be genuinely choked up. You'd already discussed the fact that you were exchanging gifts this year, but it still moves him to receive this physical reminder that you know him, and that you care. Frankly, he hasn't received many gifts in the course of his lifetime. Yours means everything to him.
Even though you both agreed to just one gift each, when you wake up that morning there will be a pile of gifts waiting for you. What can David say? He likes to spoil you.
sparrow!ben hargreeves:
The holidays are the busiest time of year when it comes to preventing crime. People are more desperate around the holidays, more prone to violence than words during the most "magical" time of the year. The holidays have never meant much, just a promise of more crime to fight. Still, this is the worst holiday for him yet.
Stuck in some strange, alternate world his father created, all his Sparrow siblings dead and all the Umbrellas having gone their separate ways? When he's not fighting crime, he's keeping himself wasted. Rebuilding a legacy for himself as a superhero when he did all this groundwork for himself when he was just a kid in the original timeline. It's brutal. It's humiliating.
It's not all bad though... there is, of course, you. The super-powered plus one that the Umbrellas had dragged along through two separate apocalypses until you'd apparently manifested into his reality. When everyone went their separate ways, you'd, for some reason, stuck with Ben.
He tries to pretend, but you both know he's grateful for your company, even though he's an asshole on his best of days.
You're not an Umbrella anymore. And he isn't a Sparrow. Now you're a super-hero duo and it works, somehow. You make a good team.
In a short time, against the odds (the odds being Ben's award-winning personality), you've become friends. Maybe even a weird, two-person family. Except he's pretty sure most families don't have the suffocating amount of sexual tension you do.
You've kissed before. Under the light of a dying universe, when you were pretty sure you were both going to cease to exist. You opened up to each other that night. But then there was the stress of... kinda saving the world? And then you wound up in this new, broken, strange one. You haven't talked about the kiss since.
He feels like he's going crazy.
Especially because you live together. He's not sure why he insisted on moving in together (because he's in love with you? because he's never lived alone before? because he misses his family?) but he did. Now he deals with the consequences every day. He hears you singing in the shower to start your day. He hatefully makes you cups of coffee that he insists are poison for the body (don't bring up the fact that he got blackout last night) when you have a long day ahead of you. He preps you for the interviews you two have started doing together, the whole world entranced by this new super-hero duo that the two of you make. He even holds your hand before your public appearances, because he knows you get stage fright.
There's something deeply wrong with him.
He tries to get you both to focus on crime this year, but you fight him every step of the way. Let's decorate, you chirp! Let's watch holiday movies, you smile. Let's cook our favorite foods together instead of getting them delivered, you beg. It's all maddening!
And now, having made it through all the holidays relatively emotionally distant and unscathed, you have the nerve to be laid up against him, staring up at him with big, drooping eyes waiting for midnight to hit on New Years Eve, and you ask him if he misses his family.
He snaps and finally kisses you, months of wanting and waiting and burning boiling over into this moment.
How could he miss his family when you're sitting right beside him?

@dollhidden asked: “Go. Sleep. That’s not a request.” — Beth for Josh!
he needs to stop doing this. he knows he needs to stop doing this. he's worrying them again, which means it's definitely time to try and rein things in. it's not that he's out of control, not this time, but he knows his listlessness can be a little unnerving.
"oh, come on, bethy. you worry too much." josh means it when he smiles at least, grateful to have someone in his corner. he isn't depressed or anything, he's just had a hard time sleeping since his last med adjustment. he appreciates the worry, but he doesn't think he needs it; he wants to put her at ease. "i've been telling you, i'm fine. i slept a bit last night. i'll be okay."
okay, maybe he's edging a bit closer to dishonesty here. he'd gotten a few minutes of sleep, but the new medication they've added have made his dreams so vivid and weird. he hates the weird side effects like that the most. why can't the pills just make him want to puke or something? instead, he's spent the last few nights feeling like he's in the newest remake of a nightmare on elm street, and he's got the bags under his eyes and a too tight grip on his mug of coffee to show it. he's sure he'll get used to it eventually, either that or the doctors will shove something else down his throat, so he wishes beth would take things a little less seriously. this is just how things are.
"...how about we put on a movie or something?" he tries to compromise, not wanting to brush beth off completely, but also just plain knowing better than to think she'll let him get away with it to begin with. it was always easier for him to sleep with a bit of background noise, and a little bit of company couldn't hurt. maybe he'd sleep better with someone else around. he grins, giving her a playful nudge. "i'll even let you pick what we watch. then i'll definitely fall asleep before the end."

"Joshua wouldn't do this shit."
It's a slurred murmur, nonsense spoken into the void between the switching of songs, his fingers pointed to temple in the form of a gun and when the beat drops he pulls the trigger with the accompanying sound. Laughter is the next sound that rumbles from his chest and he bounces on the soles of his feet, letting the music flow through him until he's number than he had been seconds before. Joshua Washington wouldn't be in some rundown house on the wrong side of town, he wouldn't be high as a kite, Jager and Jack in his veins, swirling with coke and whatever else he had gotten his hands on. Josh.. Josh is exactly where he wants to be. Surrounded by tits and ass and cocks, his choice for the picking. All of them groupies or friends but titles and labels just don't matter here.. He never really cared who was a "hanger on" if you actually enjoyed his company. None of that mattered when he wanted to stop the loneliness. None of that mattered when he just needed some love and affection.
Yeah, Joshua might not be here but Joshua was probably dead.
Josh was very much alive and really.. Really needed to sit down. He's laughing as he flops down, leaning into whoever the warm body was. "That shit's got me fucked up."

i wanna kiss you on the mouth -s.reid
----------------------------
Tumblr media
----------------------------
a/n: i am back from the dead! hello, i was gone for the past few days because school and work is hectic but rest assured i am back :)
summary: both of you are completely unaware of your feelings, but you speak too loudly and your feelings are confessed.
pairing: spencer reid x bau! fem! reader
warnings: none
----------------------------
Spencer had only been thinking of you every day for the past 4 months. From the moment he woke up, to the second his head hit the pillow. You were on his mind.
It’s weird he tried to convince himself. You were his childhood best friend, who’d just moved to Washington. You were a year older but just as intelligent, if not more, and you were conversational and interesting. You had people skills that he could only dream of, and a smile he could only dream of. Which he did. Dreamt of you a lot. Usually you were his girlfriend, or occasionally his wife. Sometimes you were clothed... others he wasn't exactly proud of. But it wasn't him technically, it was his subconscious. Right?
----------------------------
“We have a new case,” Penelope grimaced as you rolled your eyes, clearly hungover from the night prior.
“Bad date?” Derek mused and Spencer’s muscles tensed.
“I don’t even remember Derek, all I know is that I woke up in someone else’s bed,” you chuckled.
“Cheating on me?” He mocked.
“Always,” you smirked, lowering the sunglasses on your eyes to give him a wink, one which made him laugh.
Spencer’s chest tightened. You were going out. You had casual sex. That was fine, you’re an adult. He shouldn’t be bothered. You two hadn’t spoken in years before you joined the BAU 4 months ago.
“Pretty boy?” Derek repeated. “Are you alright? You’re not listening.”
“S-sorry! Just… thinking…” he trailed off as the conversation flowed again, ideas and questions filled the room as they continued the briefing.
----------------------------
The jet was not much easier. You were smirking at your phone as the others napped or looked over the case file.
“Who’s that?” Emily smirked, looking over your shoulder.
“My maybe-boyfriend,” you smiled back as her face lit up. Spencer’s heart dropped. You barely look in his direction most days. You don’t talk to him. You clearly don’t care about him. Yet here he is, upset over the fact that you might have a boyfriend. “Kidding, my apartment complex’s group chat is going off right now because someone is playing music really loudly. My neighbour is threatening to kill the old woman in 35 with a kitchen knife,” you chuckled as Emily deflated, but read the messages aloud, which made the entire jet laugh. Spencer smiled along, an ease in the weight on his chest.
----------------------------
You were exhausted. You hated this. You hated being so close to Spencer and not feeling able to talk to him. You hated how much you wanted him, needed him. You hated how little attention he paid to you. You didn't like going on first dates, much less sleeping with the asshole that was 'Josh' but he had a similar vibe to Spencer and you'd needed a release.
“Fuck,” you yawned, allowing your eyes to drop for a few seconds before Derek hit the back of your head to wake up. You groaned in response as he laughed. “Fuck you.”
“Come do it yourself,” he smirked and you rolled your eyes. “Anyways, how is it going?”
“I’ve narrowed down the geological profile from Spencer’s initial one-”
“I mean ‘Project Reid’!” He gossiped. “Have you even talked to him yet?”
“Derek,” you grumbled, resting your head against your hands. “He doesn’t want to talk to me, he doesn’t even fucking like me!”
Derek internally rolled his eyes, irritation bubbling at the both of you. How could two of the most gifted profilers he knew not realise the goo-goo eyes they were sending each other while the other wasn’t looking?
“He likes you plenty,” he sighed. “Ask him out! Talk to him.”
“He does not like me!” You squealed. “Spencer Walter Reid does not like me, in a friendly way or a I-want-to-kiss-you-on-the-mouth way! Stop pushing something that will not happen, despite how much I want it to!”
----------------------------
As Spencer approached the conference room, his weary eyes tired as they focused on your figure. You looked beautiful. Spencer always thought you looked beautiful.
“He does not like me!” You squealed. “Spencer Walter Reid does not like me, in a friendly way or a I-want-to-kiss-you-on-the-mouth way! Stop pushing something that will not happen, despite how much I want it to!”
What.
You liked Spencer? You wanted to kiss Spencer. You just amditted to liking him.
“What?” Spencer’s voice from behind you startled you as Derek laughed. “Y-you want that?”
----------------------------
“What?” Spencer’s voice from behind you startled you as Derek laughed. “Y-you want that?”
You stared in Derek’s direction, willing for him to leave. Thankfully, he got the message immediately and left swiftly. Leaving you and Spencer alone together. Maybe he should’ve stayed.
“Umm… yeah. I’ve like you since we were kids, but y’know… life got in the way-”
You were shocked. Spencer Reid, shy Spencer Walter Reid had just cut off your sentence with a kiss.
What was going on?
His lips were soft (he used lip balm often, clearly), his hands rested tentatively on you waist. But the kiss. If you could describe kissing Spencer Reid in one word, it would be hungry. He kissed you with as much passion as you would assume someone to give to their partner on their wedding day. He was blanking your mind with this insanely mind-blowing kiss.
“I really like you too,” he smiled. “I an I-wanna-kiss-you-on-the-mouth kinda way. Like I really want to do that again,” he smiled again and you couldn’t help but kiss him. His hands landed on your waist, more comfortable than before as your arms circled his neck.
Maybe all his overthinking about you was too much. Maybe it was just that simple.
You liked each other.
In an I-wanna-kiss-you-on-the-mouth kinda way.

I've been thinking a lot about Jossam lately, totally obsessed, and I've come up with some headcanons!
• Josh is a film enthusiast, and this is clear as a crystal. Just like that fact, he loves Sam. They say every artist has their muse, their inspiration—and for some, it's distant people, historical figures, or even actors or musicians. Josh is no different; he has his muse, and luckily for him, it's his sister’s best friend.
• Josh is an artist. He loves working on small film projects to tell little stories he's written. Of course, he always finds a way to get his friends involved, whether it’s Jess playing a Carrie remake or Emily as a masked killer... But none of them came close to being in as many projects as Sam. Josh always put Samantha Giddings in his films. She was always the lead, the final girl, the one who gets the guy at the end, the princess, the superhero—because that’s who she was and always had been to him, the protagonist of his life.
• Sam loved being part of those amateur films. She always thought Josh's artistic vision was beautiful, even if that wasn’t the reason she kept doing it. She loved listening to him talk about his ideas, loved how focused he became, loved hearing him go into detail about every little thing he had in mind. His mind fascinated her. She was in love with everything he did, in love with him, which, on its own, made everything he had to offer—even the "little things"—feel magical.
• One time, a town fair caught Sam’s attention. It was an animation competition, and when she read about it in the paper, the first person who came to mind was Josh Washington. Well, she was the girl who did the drawings, but he was the guy who handled everything else. Maybe it was her way of trying to spend more time with him. Maybe that feeling made her call him and tell him about it, and maybe it was his own desire to spend more time with her that made him agree instantly.
• They didn’t win first place in the competition, instead placing third and getting a silly plastic trophy for both of them. Regardless of the result, they were happy. Spending that time together was probably what they needed to understand their feelings for each other—even if they hadn’t admitted them yet. Everything seemed to be falling into place... until the anniversary of the twins’ disappearance came around, and with that... well, you know the story.

➠ @jesvshotsaucechristmascake asked: ❝ i never thought i’d see you again. ❞
Tumblr media
.·:*¨ ✘★✘ ¨*:·.   It wasn't like Josh to ever keep his mouth closed, but for once in his life, he was gravely silent. Large blue eyes stared at Mike as he tried to process how that statement was supposed to make him feel. Was his friend relieved and happy? Or was this a reunion Mike wished he'd never have to endure? It had been a month since the horrific night at his family's estate. After he was found by rescue searchers, just about to do the unthinkable in order to survive, he was mercifully taken out of those caves. Because of the state of his mind, Josh was then put in a facility where he was cared for and rehabilitated.
Back on his meds and less fragile than before, Josh was released into the world again. La Jolla wasn't a huge town by any means, but he still hadn't expected to run into any of this old friends so quickly. The sidewalk they were on suddenly felt entirely too small, as if the shops around them were pressing in to create a claustrophobic effect.
Unable to stop himself, his gaze went to Mike's left hand, seeing the permanent proof of the brutality they had faced. Instantly they snapped back to the other's face. Realizing he'd been silent too long that it was probably beginning to be creepy, he forced himself to nod. "Y-yeah," he replied, feeling entirely stupid with the one word, but still not knowing how Mike was going to react.

Until The Break Of Dawn Ch. 6 (Josh Washington x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Mike venture into the mines to try and find Josh, meeting Sam on the way. But your way back out is harder than your way into the mines. (Female Reader) Warnings: Talk of Mental Health. Mild Violence (Mike slapping Josh like in the game). Mentions of the Twins' Death. Wendigos. Specific warnings will be posted in the notes of each chapter. No Y/N, Petnames (Honey) Author's Note: You can find the previous chapter here. Crossposted on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/49644949/chapters/125305396#workskin
“I have to go look for Josh.”
“That is the worst idea I’ve ever heard.” Emily shook her head at you as you paced the surveillance room in the basement. “And I’ve dated Mike so the expectations are pretty high on that front.”
Ashley looked up in uncertainty. “If that old man is right, Josh is probably already dead. You shouldn’t risk your life and go down there.”
“Maybe it’s not the worst idea.” Mike mused and looked up at you. “You could go find Josh and I could come to look for both Jess and Matt.”
“See?”
Emily eyed you for a few seconds. “It’s still a terrible idea.”
“I’m his girlfriend, Emily. We’ve been friends since we were children and we promised to always be there for each other. I can’t leave him.” You argued but when she still looked unconvinced you sighed miserably, deciding to tell her the truth. “Listen, I promised him that I would keep him safe and I left to check on you. I left him in that barn all alone and now one of these Wendigos took him down to the mines. I have to look for him.”
“Besides, he is probably the one that has the key to the cable car.” Sam argued, crossing her arms and looking at Emily. “If anything you should be happy that she and Mike are going to get it, so we can finally get off this mountain.”
After a few seconds of silence, Emily nodded. “We will wait here for you. Just be careful. I’ve seen horrible things in these mines and-- and you’re my friends. I want you to be safe.”
“Yes, please be careful.” Ashley pleaded, looking at you in fear. “What do we do if you two don’t come back with the key?”
“According to Emily, someone will come for us at dawn.”
---
The old Sanatorium was terrifying but thankfully you had Mike by your side, so you weren’t alone. After he had acquired a gun and you had found a torch, the two of you had started making your way toward the mines. You had assumed you would only encounter the Wendigos in the mines but the screeches sounding from the basement floors proved you wrong.
“Did you hear that, Mike?”
“Hard to overhear it.”
“I thought they were only in the mines.” You whispered in fear, clutching the torch to your hand. “I thought this route would be safer.”
Mike nodded along to your words but kept going nonetheless. “Same here but the tunnel was safer than walking around outside, at the very least. If you’re too scared, you can go back to the safe room.”
“I am scared. Fuck, I’m downright terrified, but I have to save Josh.” You explained, feeling a little bit more encouraged as you remembered why you were going to the mines. “I can’t leave him down there.”
“You’re a wonderful girlfriend, you know that?” Mike commented as he began descending, lowering himself to the basement through a hole in the ground. “After everything that happened tonight, that he did to us and you, you still risk your life to save him.”
“I am in no way defending his actions. If anything they really hurt me, too. But he planned a prank and nothing more. Granted it was a fucked up prank but he never meant for anyone to get hurt. The fact that there are Wendigos around isn’t his fault and he doesn’t deserve to be taken by them.” You argued softly, sitting down at the edge of the hole to lower yourself down after Mike, giving him a small smile when he reached up to help you down. “Thanks, Mike.”
Mike drew back after helping you down and nodded in the direction of the steel door behind him. “Before we go in there, just know that your father would be proud of you.”
“Thank you, Mike. You’re an amazing boyfriend for going back down there to rescue Jess.” You smiled softly and gripped your torch tightly. “Let’s go.”
“Here goes nothing.”
To your surprise, you weren’t attacked upon entering the next room. Though Wendigos kept screeching at you and trying to get to you, they weren’t able to reach you because they were locked up in iron-barred cells -- presumably by the man with the flamethrower. You and Mike ventured through the room, keeping close to each other and as far away from the Wendigos as possible.
But your luck ran out mere seconds later because not all Wendigos were locked up. One of them burst through the door you had just come through, screeching at you and immediately taking up chase. The two of you booked it down the hall and ended up at a large metal door.
“What do we do now, Mike?”
“Help me get the door open.”
You did as he had told you, slamming yourself against the door but not being able to get it open. All the door did was budge a millimeter at a time but never opened up completely. Things went from bad to worse when the Wendigo caught up with you and jumped at the two of you. You screamed and pushed at the door while Mike shot at the Wendigo, sending it flying backward. But the old man had made it clear that bullets couldn’t kill them and he was proven right when the creature got back up from the ground to once more lurched at the two of you.
That’s when you spotted what looked like a barrel of oil between you two and the Wendigo. And you remembered that the man had said fire could harm them, so you quickly grabbed Mike’s shoulder to get his attention. But Mike had already thought of that idea himself and shot at a nearby barrel. The whole thing blew up, dozing the room and the Wendigo in flames. It screeched at being burned and you two just so managed to get the door open before the flames reached out, tumbling out into the snow. You pushed yourself up to look at Mike who was already getting back to his feet and offering you a helping hand. As you took it and got back to your feet, you couldn’t help but laugh a little at how wrong you had been about thinking there were no Wendigos in the Sanatorium. Mike gave you a questioning look at your laughter.
“I guess the Sanatorium wasn’t exactly a safe way to go.”
“You’re right about that.” Mike mumbled in amusement before he froze. “Fuck, one of them isn’t dead and it’s coming right at you.”
You looked back at the doors and saw a Wendigo that was now dozed in flames coming for the two of you. Without thinking, you grabbed Mike’s arm and pulled him after you, yelling at him to run. And Mike didn’t have to be told twice.
---
You were incredibly thankful that Sam had followed you and Mike. Because when you two stumbled through a door into the mines, a Wendigo in hot pursuit, you hadn’t expected to get out of that situation alive and mostly unharmed. But Sam had been there to hit the creature with a metal pipe, sending its head flying across the floor. As you got up to your feet, Mike was already asking why Sam had followed and where everyone else was.
“We realized that the old man kept Wendigos locked up at the Sanatorium and wanted to warn you. But according to the burning Sanatorium, you’ve already found out.” Sam explained before looking around. “Ashley, Chris, and Emily went back to the cabin when we came to a wall that was hard to climb. Luckily, I have rock climbing experience.”
“Thanks.” Mike said before looking at the mines that lay behind Sam. “We should get going. We have quite some space to cover.”
“Exactly.”
Together with Sam and Mike, you proceeded through muddy water and claustrophobic tunnels. The screeching of the Wendigos was deafening in the caves, echoing through them and making you cling to the metal pipe you had picked up, ready to fight against an ambush at every turn. You kept going for a while before Mike suddenly stopped, nearly causing you and Sam to run into him.
“I hear something.”
Both you and Sam listened and against all the other noises in the mines, you heard someone talking. It sounded like Josh but Sam had warned you during your exploration of the mines that Wendigos could mimic voices, so you were careful when you peered through the wooden planks to your left. But you felt the tight feeling of worry and fear in your chest lighten when you saw that it was indeed Josh.
Mike quickly busted the door open and all of you hurried over. Josh looked horrible, bruised, and terrified, mumbling to himself and begging someone to leave him alone. You approached him and moved closer in careful steps, not wanting to startle him.
“Josh, it’s me. Sam, Mike, and I came to get you home. We’ll get you out of here, I promise.”
“No!” He sobbed out, backing away from you with terrified eyes. “You’re not real. No one came to get me. I’m alone -- all alone. You are not real!”
“He’s in it too deep.” Sam warned. “He doesn’t believe it’s us. What do we do?”
Before you could make a suggestion Mike took the initiative, slapping Josh across the face. You were about to go off at Mike for hitting Josh but then you saw that your boyfriend actually snapped out of his daze and focused on the three of you. He blinked a few times, his eyes finding yours and then he moved in to embrace you, holding you tightly as he began to cry.
“You are real.” He whispered through tears. “You came for me! After-- after everything I’ve done you came for me. I am so sorry.”
“I would never leave you behind.” You reassured Josh, holding him tightly. “We will get you out of here. I promise.”
Sam interrupted you two when another screech echoed through the caves. “Josh, do you have the key to the cable car?”
“Yes, I do.” He whispered and pulled away from your embrace to hand it to Sam before grabbing onto your biceps and holding on tightly. “Don’t leave me, Honey.”
“Never.”
“Josh, Hannah was down here.” Sam whispered in horror, staring at Josh with fearful eyes. “For weeks or months or--”
“Sam.”
You interrupted her, not wanting her to tell Josh about the gruesome way Hannah must have died or about how she might have become a Wendigo, too. He was not in the right state of mind to hear this news and what mattered more was getting everyone to safety.
“We will get you out of here.” Mike promised firmly before looking around. “I’m just wondering what the best way to go is.”
Sam looked up at the slope Josh had been standing next to. “This is the direct way out but no offense, I doubt we could all get up there. I go mountain climbing on a regular basis and I’ve forced your girlfriend to come along a few times, Josh, but I don’t know if you and Mike can get up there.”
“You should go up there and get to the lodge.” Mike suggested. “We’ll keep going and find another way. Get them to the cable car and we’ll meet you there.”
“We’ll try to find Matt and Jess along our way.”
And so you went on with Josh and Mike while Sam started to climb the slope. Mike was leading the way and you walked after him, Josh clinging to your arm in fear. You understood his fear because the mines were truly a terrifying place. As you went on, Mike kept calling out to Jess and Matt but no one answered. Josh kept close to you, trying to quietly reassure himself that he’d be fine.
“Josh, I will get you home.” You promised him once more, bringing a hand to where his was placed on your arm. “I’ll make sure to stay by your side.”
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, leaning closer to you. “I’m so fucking sorry, Honey. I am such-- I can’t even begin to describe how terrible I feel for what I put all of you through and for what I put you through.”
“Just please-- Just don’t do anything like that again, please.”
“You haven’t forgiven me, have you?”
“It’s hard. Of course, I don’t blame you for this whole Wendigo situation but you knew what happened to my father, you knew more than anyone else how horrible it was for me and you still thought it would be a good idea to prank me by making me think you disappeared.” You explained, still keeping your hand on his. “But I still love you and-- and I want you to be safe.”
“I love you.” Josh mumbled, looking back at you. “What can I do to make you forgive me?”
“Just give me time.”
Josh looked at you for a few more seconds before nodding and lowering his gaze. Mike stopped in front of you and when you looked up you once more saw the water you had waited through earlier. You went in after Mike and held out a hand to Josh, watching as he hesitantly got in, as well. He kept his hand firmly in yours as he kept walking after you and Mike.
Suddenly, Mike screamed and was pulled under the water. And before you could look for him a Wendigo popped up, making you freeze in shock. It raised its hand to grab at you but Josh quickly pulled you backward and behind himself, protecting you despite his own fear.
“Get back! You’re not real!”
You looked on in horror as the Wendigo reached for Josh and when you saw the butterfly on its upper right arm you knew it was Hannah. Sam had mentioned to you and Josh that she had been down here for months. Now your fear that she had turned into a Wendigo had been confirmed. Josh seemed to realize that this creature was his sister, as well.
“Hannah?”
The Wendigo screeched and grabbed him by the throat, starting to drag him away. You saw Mike slowly moving to hide behind a rock but you didn’t have the time to ask for his help, so you grabbed Josh’s hand tightly, holding onto him.
“Let go of him!”
The screech the creature emitted was deafening and it almost made you let go but you kept holding on. She then tried to get you away from Josh, lashing out and slashing her sharp claws across your left arm, making you let go in pain. Blood started seeping out from underneath your jacket and sweater, running down your arms and you were horrified by how much damage these creatures’ claws could do. But you tried your best to work through your pain because Josh was in danger.
You still had the metal pipe from earlier and you did the only thing you could think of and hit the Wendigo with it. Guilt washed over you because you knew this creature was Hannah, your friend, the poor woman who had been trapped down here and turned into this creature. But you had to save Josh. You knew how much the twins had loved their brother, so you reasoned that saving him was what they would have wanted.
She let Josh go and you pulled him back, quickly retreating through the water and making sure he was behind you. When you reached the other end of the pond the Wendigo had recovered from the shock of being hit and was once more approaching you. Josh climbed out of the water and grabbed you from underneath your arms, pulling you out and away from the creature. The two of you ran before you could even see if the Wendigo was following you.
You felt terrible for leaving without Mike but when you realized that the creature was indeed following you rather than staying and looking for him, you felt a little less guilty. Mike had managed to hide while you had been attacked and while you didn’t blame him, you also knew he’d understand that you were also too terrified to go back and get him. Besides, you were luring the Wendigo away, giving Mike ample opportunity to get out some other way. You knew for a fact that the ladder you had used to get out before was close by and you were certain he’d find it.
Josh had your hand tightly in his, pulling you along as he ran through the tunnel and when you came to a fork in the caves you told him to go left, toward the metal door you had come through with Mike earlier.
Once there, Josh pushed you through the door and slammed it shut behind the two of you. The Wendigo scratched at the door and Josh grabbed you by the arms, turning his body so it was between you and the door. The scratching stopped eventually and you heard her retreat back into the mines. Josh breathed a sigh of relief as he pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly and bursting into tears.
“That was Hannah.”
You embraced him, holding his head to your shoulder where he quickly buried his face. “I am so sorry, Josh. That is a terrible fate.”
“I just left her there.”
“There was nothing you could have done.” You whispered in earnest. “She is no longer human and you would have only endangered yourself had you attempted to get her out with us.”
“I abandoned them.”
“You didn’t abandon them. Josh, they aren’t angry at you. Your sisters loved you so endlessly.” You promised, holding him tightly. “The last thing either of them would have wanted would have been for you to end up hurt. They aren’t angry at you.”
“You sound like our old guidance counselor.”
You sighed at his words, squeezing him tighter. “It’s what my old therapist told me when I told him about how guilty I felt for never finding my father. He told me my father loved me so much and that he wouldn’t have wanted me to feel bad. He said my father was not angry at me. And I know that the same goes for your sisters. Josh, they loved you so much. They aren’t angry at you.”
“Are you sure?”
“They would be beyond happy that you escaped.”
Josh was quiet for a few seconds before he released a deep breath. “Is there-- Is there nothing we can do?”
“Maybe once we’re back to safety we can find someone to go into the mines and look for her.” You mused, rubbing Josh’s back soothingly. “Maybe there is a way to help her or-- or get her back to her old self or something. But for now, we have to get down this mountain and get help because we can’t do that alone.”
Josh drew back from your embrace, still looking terrified and devastated. But when his eyes flicked to the blood still running down your arm he seemed to snap out of it, quickly taking it into his hands to examine it. “Fuck, Honey, that looks painful.”
“It is.” You mumbled, biting your lip as he moved your arm and pain started coursing through you once more. “It just-- It’s bleeding a lot.”
Josh thought for a few seconds before reaching out to unwrap his scarf from your neck. You watched as he started to wrap it around your arm, pulling it tight to stop the bleeding, and hissed in pain, the pressure sending jolts of pain through your body. But you knew that it had to be done.
“Almost done.” Josh promised under his breath, tying the scarf into a tight knot. “Sorry. I’m so sorry for causing you pain.”
“No, you-- you had to. Thank you, Josh.”
“Not just the arm.” He mumbled, averting his eyes for a second before forcing himself to look at you. “I can’t believe that after everything I did tonight, you-- you still came looking for me. It feels so-- so unreal.”
You shook your head and reached out to touch his cheek, trying to assure him that you two had really escaped the mines. “It is real, Josh. I would never leave you behind, Sweetheart.”
“You-- You called me ‘sweetheart’ again. Are you-- Does that mean you’ve forgiven me?” Josh asked and looked up at you in uncertainty. “You really don’t have to.”
“I did.” You nodded and took his hand into both of yours. “You saved me. You got in the way of a literal Wendigo to protect me. And when she had you in her grasp, I just-- I thought I’d lose you and I realized that I can’t live without you. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
With that, Josh pulled away from your grasp and placed both of his hands on your cheeks before leaning in to kiss you. He was slow at first, giving you the opportunity to pull away before he could place his lips on yours but you wanted nothing more than to feel him again, so you closed the space between you two. Josh breathed a sigh of relief and you wrapped your arms around his middle, deepening the kiss for a small moment before pulling back.
“We need to keep going, Josh.”
“I know.” He said and extended a hand toward yours which you gladly took, making him look back at you in worry. “Your hands are freezing. You look really cold.”
“We are drenched in cold water in these temperatures. I am so cold.”
“I’m sorry that I don’t have a way to warm you up.” Josh said mournfully as he looked down his body. “I left my vest at the lodge.”
“It’s fine. It’s not your fault. At least I had your scarf up until now. It really helped with the cold and to keep me calm when I was in the mines before.” You explained, grabbing his hand once more to pull him down the mountain after you. “It smells like you.”
“You were down there before?”
“I fell down there while looking for you after I thought you’d disappeared.”
“I am so sorry.” Josh whispered, tears brimming in his eyes. “You were down there because of my prank. I am so fucking sorry, Honey.”
“Josh, you risked your life for me. I’ve forgiven you. Just don’t ever do something like that again, please.”
“Never.”

Best Day Ever
Tumblr media
Picture lightly edited by me.
Pairing: Josh Washington X Fem!Reader Description: After a spur of the moment decision, Josh takes you and his sisters to a carnival. Hannah and Beth decide to take this opportunity to push you and Josh together, since Josh has had a massive crush on you for a long time and has been too afraid to make a move... Warnings: Fluff, Maybe A Pinch Of Angst, Kind Of Mutual Pining (But Very Intense On One Side. 👀), Friends Turning Into Beautiful Lovers. Word Count: 4.8k (I haven't written a fic this long in quite a while. 😅) A/N: This took an embarrassing amount of time, I know. I was just in no mind state to write and I wanted it to be perfect, so I decided to wait. And it took even longer because when I was editing it one last time, the final copy got deleted so I had to reedit the whole thing and rewrite the parts I had added in there. @108garys requested a carnival fic for Josh a few days prior to this request, so I got the idea to combine them together. I hope that's ok. 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 This is actually my old Jalim fic, Just For Fun, too. I always wanted to rewrite it because I felt like it could have been better than what it was. So, when I got the opportunity to do this, I decided to finally do it and I am happy with the results. Anon requester and @108garys, I want to thank you for giving me this request. It really made me happy, knowing that people wanted me to write a fic for them, especially when I was so new to the Until Dawn fandom. Anyway, I'll quit my rambling now. I hope you all enjoy. 💖 Josh's MasterList: 🖤 Main MasterList: 🖤 Josh's Angels: @lorebite, @house-of-kolchek, @koexchange, @yesitsloulou, @mistmoose, @jasonexo, @mornandil, @fortune-fool02, and @raven-the-cryptid. Me, (Y/N), Hannah and Beth were driving from the store one sunny afternoon. We weren't there long; only to grab some microwave popcorn and chips for a movie we were planning to watch. It was a short trip but everybody insisted on going along for the ride. It was nice, having the three most important women in my life with me. Even if it was just something as simple as going to the grocery store, it was memories like these that I cherished the most.
The ride was pretty silent other than a song playing quietly on the radio, but it was nice — it was peaceful. A couple of minutes passed and we drove passed a carnival. That's when I noticed (Y/N) turning her head to look out her window.
"Oh, looks like they set up a carnival for the weekend." I mentioned, just to see how she would react.
"Yeah, I noticed." She said just barely above a whisper whilst still staring out her window. "Haven't been to one in years."
"Jesus, us neither." Beth spoke up in the back.
"Probably since we were sixteen." Hannah recalled quietly.
I sat in silence and pondered for a minute, taking my eyes off of the road for a quick moment to watch (Y/N) whilst chewing on the inside of my cheek. She looked sad — or maybe disappointed. Now that I had thought about it, I hadn't been to a carnival in such a long time. We really weren't in too much of a hurry to get back and I was sure that the movie could wait.
"You wanna go?" I finally asked and she took her eyes off the window to gaze at me with uncertainty.
"W-What? No, we can't. We have groceries in the back seat." She looked down at her hands folded in her lap, her lips turned down into a disappointed frown.
"Oh, fuck yeah!" Beth cheered behind me, startling me and nearly making me jump out of my seat. I shook my head as I let a short chuckle roll passed my lips.
"The groceries can wait. Nothing's gotta go in the fridge." I mused. "It'll be fun."
Before she opened her mouth to protest again, I turned the car around and drove in the direction of the small carnival before us. I pulled into a free parking spot, got out and rounded the side of the car before opening the door for (Y/N) and giving her my hand to help her up. Her eyes lit up with wonder as she studied the crowds and the attractions around her.
"What should we do first?" She asked me as we walked in, hand in hand, to ensure that we would not get separated.
We had done this before but only so we don't get separated in big crowds because (Y/N) hates to be alone. I wish it meant more to her than that. I wish she knew that when I held her hand, it's not just because I don't want to lose her in a big crowd…
"Fuck, I don't know! I'm so excited, I can't think!" Beth said eagerly with nothing but pure excitement in her voice and I chuckled at her enthusiasm. "This is going to be the best day ever!"
"I'm excited too." (Y/N) giggled. "What do you think, Josh?"
"I don't know. We haven't had lunch yet — you wanna get something to eat? My treat." I suggested as I pulled out my wallet and smiled kindly at her.
"Yeah, I am pretty hungry." Hannah expressed and I nodded before grabbing plucking out a twenty. Luckily, I went to an atm before heading to the store and had enough cash on me for the day.
"Yeah, I'd love that." (Y/N) expressed. A look of adoration melted into her soft eyes as she gazed up at me for a moment and I swear, it made my heart stop. I felt heat creep within my cheeks and I looked away quickly, hoping she wouldn't notice.
We went to the nearest food stall and I ordered some burgers, some fries and Pepsis for us all. After, we found a bench close by and sat down with our lunches. (Y/N) took a bite out of her burger and her eyes lit up before closing to appreciate the taste.
"This is amazing!" She took another big bite. "I forgot how good carnival food is!"
I couldn't help but smile at how happy she was over something as simple as a burger. I admired how she enjoyed the small things in life. Even something as small as food could cast the biggest smile on her face.
"Jesus! Ok, Josh! You are taking all three of us to carnivals more often! It's a must!" Beth declared before taking a bite out of her own burger.
"Yeah, you'll have to become that big movie producer fast so you'll have enough money to splurge on us!" I couldn't help but full out laugh at Hannah's comment and, by the looks of it, (Y/N) and Beth couldn't either.
"(Y/N), back in California, we have the biggest fairs and carnivals! Like rollercoasters that could last an hour, I swear to God!" Beth mused once she calmed down from her fit of giggles, wiping a tear from her eye as she did so. (Y/N)'s eyes widened before she turned to look at me for conformation and I nodded as a smile crept upon my lips.
"Shit! Yeah, I have to see that!" She giggled excitedly in agreement.
Beth finished her meal first and waited a minute until (Y/N) was finished before taking her hand and nearly dragging her off the bench.
"We have to go do something really quick." She said and both me and (Y/N) raised a brow in confusion.
"What about me?" Hannah asked, a frown forming where her smile used to be from being left out.
"If you weren't such a slow eater, then you could come too." Beth teased and Hannah's lips turned up into an awkward smile as she adjusted her glasses.
She always did that when she felt nervous.
"Well, Jesus! At least she paces herself — unlike some of us." I said, gesturing to Beth and she scoffed.
"I would watch yourself, big brother." She approached me slowly as a mischievous look formed in her eyes. I clenched what little I had left of my burger in my hands, in fear that I was about to lose it. "You know, I'm shocked — you're usually the fastest eater out of all three of us."
She stopped right in front of me and froze for a moment, making me feel both confused and worried. Before I could even attempt to react, she booped my nose and when I winced, she plucked the remainder of my burger from my hands and pushed it all in her mouth, smiling wickedly at me as her cheeks puffed out as if she was a chipmunk.
She skipped off with (Y/N) and I yelled a threatening, "I'll get you back for this!" Over my shoulder and I just barely caught Beth giving me the finger as she walked away.
I stayed seated on the bench with Hannah and watched all the children playing before us. I began imagining what it would be like taking my children to the carnival, watching their excited expressions as they went on all the rides and ate as many sweets as they could while (Y/N) is scolding me for giving them too many. Aw hell, who was I kidding? (Y/N) was just as much of a push over as I was. We would all probably spend the night with stomach aches. I was so deep in thought about my future that I failed to notice the small smile on my lips as I watched the children play.
"You can't fool me." I heard Hannah speak up beside me as she nudged my shoulder with her own. She had closed the little distance between us so she was sitting by my side now, finishing up her food as she watched the children play as well. "You can put on that "player" act all you want, but I know the real you. I see the way you look at (Y/N). Face it Joshy — you're smitten."
"What? Nah!" I scoffed with a roll of my eyes and Hannah rolled hers as well. Why do siblings gotta be so good at reading each other?
"You are with her every day, you talk about her constantly during the times you aren't and you can't tell me that you wouldn't do absolutely anything for her." She accused. "And you also can't tell me that you weren't just imagining those kids over there as your own."
I stayed silent for a moment, realizing that my sister was right. She knew that that front I always put up was a lie. I had always wanted a family of my own, and I think I had finally found the girl that I wanted to start it with — if only I had the fucking balls to tell her how I felt.
"Well, lil sis — I think you might just be right." I muttered, mind only half in reality as I pondered actually telling her that I had feelings for her.
"Look what I got!" Beth sang behind us and I jumped, hoping that her and (Y/N) did not just hear my confession. I turned to see them both holding cotton candies and, judging by their facial expressions, they didn't hear a thing. They handed me and Hannah ours before sitting down beside us on the bench.
"It's so sweet." (Y/N) said as she licked her lips. My eyes lingered on them for a second, admiring how soft they looked before I noticed Beth smirking at me out of the corner of my eye.
"Sure is!" I agreed, turning my attention back to (Y/N). "But, not as sweet as you."
She giggled at my comment and Hannah and Beth made gagging sounds. After we finished eating our cotton candy, we decided to go on some rides. Can't go to a carnival and not go on the rides, right? After all, it's good to get the heart racing every now and then.
After walking around for awhile and trying to agree on what we would all go on first, my eyes met the one that I was definitely not going to skip. I pointed at the Drop Tower, "Yes! We're doing that!" I demanded as I pulled on (Y/N)'s arm.
"I don't know, Josh…" She looked up at it reluctantly and then looked at me, a worried expression on her now pale face. Hannah and Beth walked up beside us and looked up at the tower as well. Hannah looked so pale that I already knew her answer, and Beth looked so excited that I thought she'd for sure join us. But then that excitement in her eyes turned into mischief as she peered over at me and (Y/N).
'What is she up to?' I thought to myself as I glanced at my sister out of the corner of my eye.
"I think I'll sit this one out. (Y/N), why don't you try it? Josh will be there to protect you." She nudged my shoulder and I glared back at her. I couldn't believe she was going to do this — she was going to leave us alone to push us together.
"But Beth, you love these kinds of rides." I said through gritted teeth, giving my sister the 'don't you fucking dare' look. She just smirked at me and then turned her attention back to (Y/N).
"Come on! It'll be fun! Please? I just know you'll love it!" She begged her like a bratty little child.
(Y/N) heaved a sighed. "Fine."
We got strapped in and before we knew it, the ride started to go up. (Y/N) closed his eyes as tightly as she could while her fingers clenched the safety bars and I couldn't help but feel bad for getting her in this situation that she very clearly didn't want to be in.
We got strapped in and before we knew it, the ride started to go up. (Y/N) closed his eyes as tightly as she could while her fingers clenched the safety bars.
We were finally at the top and I never felt more alive. The adrenaline felt better than any drug I have ever taken. I wanted to throw my hands in the air and scream it to the world.
"This is awesome!" I yelled with a laugh following my words. (Y/N), however, did not look like she shared my enthusiasm. Her eyes were still clenched shut and she now was shaking like a leaf! Now, I could have been my usual cocky self and acted all brave in front of her, as I usually did. But seeing her this scared hurt my heart.
So, instead of acting like 'the big man', I decided to look down and scream at the top of my lungs, "FUCK! SHIT! OH, HELL NO!"
She bursted out laughing at my reaction and just by looking at the sweet smile on her beautiful face, I knew that all the teasing I was going to get from Hannah and Beth was worth it. The ride dropped down and I screamed again but more dramatic and dragged out compared to the last time.
I got off of the ride first, staggering a bit to make (Y/N) giggle before giving her my hand to help her down. Then we headed back into the crowd of people to find my sisters.
"That was fun!" (Y/N) smiled up at me and I felt my heart swell.
"Hey, big brother! Have any vocal cords left after that big performance you gave the whole park up there?" Beth teased with her famous cocky smirk plastered on her face and I literally bit my tongue to hold back my bitter reply that was practically pushing through the seam of my lips.
"Yeah, you sounded like you were being chased by some blood-thirsty monster or something!" Hannah laughed and I rolled my eyes. But (Y/N) giggled as well and I remembered that it was worth all the torture just to hear it.
'Remember her smile. Just remember her fucking smile.' I thought to repress the urge to give my sisters nice Indian burns on each of their arms.
"How about some games?" I attempted to change the subject as I pointed over at the game booths. The girls snickered as they followed me, reminding me that although I was able to change the subject now, it didn't change the fact that I would be getting the worse of it later.
We walked up to a target shooting game and I slammed a few dollars down on the counter.
"This is gonna be too easy." I smirked. The carny took the money and handed me the gun.
"You get three tries. If you get three out of three, you get a big prize. If you get two, you get a medium prize. You get one, you get a small prize." The carny explained and I nodded.
I aimed the gun at the target and after a few moments of making sure the tip of my gun was perfectly aligned with the target and Beth nagging at me from behind, I fired… And missed. I felt my cheeks heat up from extreme embarrassment because I could hear the giggling of three girls behind me. I fired again and missed, letting out a frustrated grunt and cursing under my breath.
"Need me to show ya how it's done?" Beth teased as she patted my shoulder and I glared at her. She put her hands up in defense as she let out a chuckle. But I could see in her eyes that she regretted nothing. After letting my eyes linger on (Y/N) for a moment, I looked back at the target.
I really needed to focus this time. I aimed for the target one last time, fired, and missed again.
"Fuck!" I slammed my hand down on the counter. Being a perfectionist, this was frustrating as all fucking hell.
And it was even more frustrating because I knew my way around a gun. Growing up, I spent a lot of time fucking around at the shooting range at our lodge, so I was a pretty sharp shooter. But (Y/N)'s gaze heavy on my back was making me nervous as all fuck.
"It's ok, Josh. You're probably still lightheaded from the ride." (Y/N) spoke softly beside me as she placed her hand gently on my tense shoulder.
"How's this; I'll give you one last chance — if you hit the smallest target, I'll give you the big prize." The carny offered while smiling kindly at me and I nodded in agreement.
I aimed for the smallest target, took a moment to make sure I was perfectly aligned with it, and took a deep breath. I had to get it this time. I closed my eyes, carefully squeezed the trigger and the gun went off with a loud bang one last time. I opened my eyes and my heart jumped into my throat.
"Fuck, Yes!" I yelled excitedly.
I fucking got it.
I hugged (Y/N), who had been clapping beside me to cheer on my victory. The carny handed me a big, fluffy, black teddy bear with a red bow around it's neck and a big red heart between it's paws that said, 'love'. I didn't hesitate to give it to (Y/N).
"—For you." I declared proudly. Her eyes went wide and her mouth fell agape.
"Really?" She looked unsure for a moment as she hesitantly took the bear from my hands.
"Of course! I have to give you the prize, since you're my biggest cheerleader." I nudged her shoulder playfully and she blushed as she hugged the bear while smiling up at me.
"Hey, love birds!" Beth called out to us and I mentally face palmed at her ruining our moment.
'Dammit, Beth!' For all I knew, it could have turned into our first kiss.
"Don't mind her." Hannah rolled her eyes with a chuckle. "We were wondering if you guys wanted to continue going on some other rides?"
"Sure! Why not?" I agreed before following my sisters to their next ride of choice.
We decided to go on some calmer rides, since Hannah had a weak stomach. The Carousel was Hannah's first choice because she loved the horses. When I went to sit on the horse beside Beth's, Hannah pushed passed me and jumped on it before signaling behind her. I looked behind me to see (Y/N) already on her horse and the one beside her empty. I glared at my sisters, seeing right through their little plan and went to sit beside (Y/N). Not that I'm complaining though — we had a good time and it was pretty fun.
And then, after that, we tried the Bumper Cars. Me and Beth got a little too competitive there, ending in a couple of cars getting a bit damaged. After awhile, Hannah and (Y/N) stayed parked on the sidelines and watched the shitshow of a war that me and Beth created in the middle. She will never admit it, but I clearly won that round.
And we also tried the darts game, where (Y/N) won a small, light brown puppy plushy that had really big and buggy sad eyes.
"Ha! It looks just like you! It's got those big—" Beth couldn't finish, because I interrupted her quickly, trying to avoid being embarrassed for the— however many times it's been today.
"DON'T!" I growled as my eye shot daggers towards my sister.
"But you didn't let me finish, big brother." She smiled innocently and I looked over to Hannah and (Y/N), who also looked weary of Beth's attitude as well.
"Fine… Go ahead…" I sighed, defeated and finally accepting my fate.
"It's got those big bug-eyes, just like yours!" She reached up and patted me on the head and I clenched my teeth. I glared at Beth and Hannah held the toy up beside my face.
"It's uncanny!" Hannah laughed and I just about ripped the toy right out of her grasp.
"No need to be a smart-ass!" I grumbled as I folded my arms across my chest.
"Oh, but it's cute." (Y/N) chuckled as she took the small toy from Hannah. I felt a familiar heat creep upon my cheeks as she spoke and turned to look at me with a softness in her eyes that could bring light to any dark heart.
"Really?" I said, barely above a whisper after swallowing thickly.
"Yeah." Her voice was so soft, it almost made me cry.
"Uhhhhh— W–Why don't we try the haunted house?! That should be fun, r–right?" I attempted to change the subject as I tore my eyes away from hers. The girls agreed and we headed towards the ride.
Of course — as I expected — Hannah and Beth ditched me and (Y/N) for their own cart, leaving me alone with her YET AGAIN! I didn't know how much more I could take. I loved being around her — don't get me wrong — but for the last month, my little crush on her had been growing stronger and being alone with her was painfully awkward, especially since she didn't even realize that I had feelings for her. Nope! After all the regular compliments I gave her, she still hadn't figured it out! Well — to be fair — I make comments towards lots of girls but those are different. Those are just dumb sex jokes I make to be funny and sometimes weird people out. With her, it's different — it means something. I just wish she knew that.
Maybe I shouldn't be so annoyed with Hannah and Beth trying to put me in these awkward situations. They just want me to be happy. But what people don't know is that I'm a lot more insecure than I let on. Yup! That's right! Mr. Bone Zone isn't so confident after all! So shocking, right? So, being alone with a girl as pretty as (Y/N) is basically fucking torture for me.
Our cart began to move towards the entrance to the ride and I sneakily put my arm around (Y/N). It was a bold move but I had to do something! I felt her tense and for a minute, I thought it was because of my arm and I went to pull away before realizing that it wasn't my arm at all, it was because she was scared.
As our cart moved throughout the ride, I noticed her getting more and more tense. I then shuffled closer to her and she — I am assuming subconsciously — leaned into my body, as if she was hoping for my protection. I instinctively wrapped my arms around her and began explaining how each prop was made and every gory and ghostly illusion was done. It seemed to calm her and she eventually relaxed into my embrace — just another perk to having a father in the film industry.
Once the ride began to slow — or as I like to say: the calm before the storm — she began to melt into my arms and rested her head on my chest. Trying so hard to keep it cool, I rested my head on top of her's and closed my eyes, enjoying the moment of peace we had.
"Thank you, Josh." She whispered and I felt my heart stammer a little, until— "You're a good friend."
'Fuck! You're kidding, right?!'
I felt my heart drop at her words and squeezed my eyes shut as hard as I could, trying to ignore the disappointment and small bit of heartbreak I was enduring. The ride eventually came to an end and we were greeted by Beth and a very pale Hannah, who looked as if she was about to vomit. Laughing and trying to ignore what had just happened, I wrapped my arm around my little sister to give her a comforting side-hug before we continued on to do something new.
A few hours later, we all decided to go on the Ferris Wheel before finally going home. Again, Hannah and Beth insisted on going on their own cart, leaving me and (Y/N) alone for what I was hoping was the last time today. After being taken to the worst zone of all — the 'friend zone' — I really didn't want to be left alone with her any longer.
We reached the top and (Y/N) leaned into my side and I subconsciously wrapped my arm around her shoulders. It was dark out now and the park was lit up by all the lights from the rides and the games. It was a breathtaking view and judging by the smile on (Y/N)'s face, she thought so as well. She rested her head on my shoulder and I froze, not knowing what to do.
"It's beautiful." She whispered as her beautiful eyes lit up from the lights of the park and I couldn't help but notice how they illuminated her face just right, showing off her best features.
"Just like you." I murmured without a second thought. But her body tensing up and the sudden movement of her pulling away from me made me snap out of whatever fucking trance I was in at the moment.
"W–What?" She stuttered her question as nothing but pure shock painted over her calm expression that her face held only second ago.
"Oh— Uh— I was just saying— You know, like I always do?" I tried to brush it off but the look on her face told me she didn't believe me.
"You never said it quite like that before." Her voice was barely above a whisper. And in that moment, I knew I couldn't keep it from her any longer.
"(Y/N)… There is something I have to tell you…" I admitted as I looked down at my shoes, terrified to meet her gaze. "I like you — a lot. Hell, I might even love you! I'm sorry, but I can't hold back my feelings any longer."
After a few seconds of silence that felt like hours, I decided to glance up — only to see her staring at me with an even more shocked expression. Her eyes were wide, mouth agape, pale; she looked like she had just come out of a horror movie!
"I–I had no idea, Josh…" She whispered as she looked down at her hands that were now folded in her lap as she picked at her nails nervously. I fucking knew it was coming to a rejection. I wasn't too familiar with the whole thing. Babes would go with me even if they didn't like me, just because I had money. But I knew (Y/N) was better than that. And I knew that because of that, I was going to lose her.
"I'm sorry if this has ruined things between us." I look away from her, mentally kicking myself for being so dumb. But then I felt two soft hands over my own. I hesitantly peered back at her to see her staring at me with warmth in her eyes that no fire could create and a smile that could bring me back to life if I had died.
"I never said that it did. I like you too, Josh — a lot, actually. I just didn't think that you liked me back." She explained and my eyes widened in shock.
"Y–You like me too?"
"Yeah!"
"Holy shit!" I yelled excitedly, standing up but then remembering that I was hundreds of feet in the air, so I quickly sat back down, making her giggle. "S–So, you'll be my girlfriend then?"
"Of course, silly!" She chuckled and with that being said, I placed a gentle kiss upon her soft lips. Finally, I have gotten what I have truly desired for so long.
'I'll have to thank Hannah and Beth for this later.' I made a mental note after we broke away from the kiss after a minute or two. She rested her head on my shoulder and I rested mine on top of hers as we enjoyed the rest of the ride.
Driving home, we were all exhausted from the day we had. I looked in the rear view mirror to see Hannah and Beth, completely knocked out from exhaustion and I just chuckled to myself — it was the first time Beth had been quiet that day.
Then I looked over to (Y/N) — who was fast asleep in the passenger seat while cuddling her bear with a big smile on her face. My heart felt so warm at the sight of how happy my girl was.
And nothing has ever made me happier.
It truly was the best day ever.

Lucy's dress covered them where he plunged into her with each new roll of her hips as she bounced on him, but her dress was beginning to ride down, showing off her breasts to him. Her once perfect hair was a mess, curls falling.
Her nails clutched against his shirt, one hand moving to cover her lips to keep herself from crying out at the new angle.

"Oh uh....not really. I mean, I've kissed my cousin, but I didn't think that counted," She groaned, pleasure taking the place of the discomfort that had been there.
"Josh....oh...." she moaned, her arousal making itself known as her head lulled back against the cabinet behind her.
"You....ah....wanna move to the bed?"

@dollhidden asked: the one where once you meet your soulmate, it’s physically uncomfortable to be apart from them for too long. — Jossam because they're all over each other in any other thread we have PLEASE I NEED HAPPINESS what about if they've been apart for a little to long, like a lil reunion thing???
even on the best of days, josh didn't like being away from sam. it was uncomfortable, sure, but he always missed her terribly on top of it, which might have been worse. maybe he's a little bit clingy, but sam has always returned the energy in kind, so he doesn't think it's too much of an issue. they're usually attached at the hip, and that's just how he likes it.
they're busy people though, and occasionally their work pulls them in different directions. he's actually started to build himself a reputation in film outside of his father's name, and sam has made just as much headway in her work as a conservationist, something that josh is happy to brag about to anyone who will listen. isn't she just the coolest?
they've only been apart for a week, and even though they had spoken every day, it's felt like an eternity to josh. he's spent the entire time a little more tightly wound than usual, not necessarily in a worrying way, but not quite as ease as he would normally be with sam by his side. it's been building all week, and by the time he's on his way home, josh feels like he wants to crawl out of his skin. it's not quite a painful feeling, but there's a wrongness in his bones, a constant reminder of the piece of him that's missing.
"sammy!!" he doesn't even bother grabbing his bags from the car before he beelines it to the front door, not wanting to waste a second. he can feel how close she is, relief flooding his veins like a sedative before he's even properly seen her, and his entire face lights up when he does. he rushes to gather her up in his arms, lifting her off the ground in the hug and spinning them around with a giddy laugh. he doesn't get go of sam even when her feet touch the floor again, covering her face with kisses instead. "i missed you!!"

Wisconsin’s attorney general, Josh Kaul, filed felony charges on Tuesday against three men who played a key role in the effort to appoint fake electors in the state as part of Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the election. Kenneth Chesebro, Jim Troupis, and Michael Roman were each charged with one felony count of forgery, according to court documents. The crime is a class H felony punishable by a fine of up to $10,000 and up to six years in prison. Chesebro was the architect of the fake elector plan. Five days after the election, he emailed Troupis, a retired judge who was leading the Trump campaign’s legal efforts in Wisconsin, to muse about the possibility of throwing out Joe Biden’s win in Wisconsin and appointing a Trump slate of electors. The two developed the scheme over the next few months. Chesebro would later work with Roman to coordinate the efforts across states and to get the slates of fake electors to Washington. Chesebro pleaded guilty to conspiracy to filing false documents for his role in the scheme in a separate case in Georgia earlier this year. Roman faces charges in Georgia and is also a defendant in an Arizona case. This is the first time Troupis, who sits on a judicial ethics panel in Wisconsin, has been charged.

when i get my hands on you
pairing: josh kiszka x female!reader warning(s): mention of alcohol and josh uses the nickname ‘baby’ a lot  word count: 1.9k synopsis: josh returns to nashville after tour and heads to his girlfriend’s new place for the first time where she had prepared for his return.  note: oh my god be prepared to read the most tooth-rotting fluff with the most stereotypical, dancing-in-the-refrigerator-light scenario with post-tour josh w/ inspo from when i get my hands on you by the new basement tapes. wrote this on a whim and absolutely did not proofread it so sorry for any mistakes lmao. hope you enjoy xx
You woke up to gentle knocking on your front door. You woke up cuddled under a throw, a book laying by your head, with a playlist on repeat from the television, and candles still burning on the coffee table. When the knocks came again, you batted your eyes open and sat up from the cushions, looking around in your disoriented state, trying to figure out who would be knocking at - you glanced at the clock on the wall - two a.m.. And then you remembered why you had been trying to stay up so late in the first place. Joshua.
“Oh shit, oh shit,” you came out from under the blanket and off the sofa to your feet.
You hurriedly crossed the living room to the front door where you peeked out the peephole, and with an excited kick of your heart, you opened the door to see Josh on the other side. He was in an oversized winter coat with the fur-lined hood over his head and a pair of sweatpants with an overnight duffle bag lugged on his shoulder.
“Hi,” you whispered, still half-asleep, but your hands went out to touch his face as he stepped forward over the threshold. His face was flushed from the cold weather, the tip of his nose pink.
“Hi baby,” he said quietly, pressing a soft kiss to your lips before you pulled him further inside, shutting the door to keep out the cold behind him. “Sorry I was late, we didn’t land until after midnight and I showered and-” he nodded towards the duffle bag on his side, “I couldn’t find my bag when I got home.”
“It’s okay, you’re fine,” you said with a smile as you tugged off his hood, arms sliding around his shoulders. “I just thought that maybe you had gotten lost on the way here.”
“Oh, I totally did that too,” he grinned and kissed your cheek, and then your lips.
You smiled into the kiss and pulled back, taking a step back to open yourself and the house up to him. “Well, welcome,” you told him.
The plan for the night had been made on an early morning phone call last week. Josh called you from Washington state, a little homesick, a little lonely. He told you that when they got back to Nashville, he wanted to see your new place, that he would come over as soon as they landed.
You and Josh had started dating just a mere few months ago and at the time you were searching for a new place to live, so most of the time you two had spent together had been at his, or at his brother’s - Sam always called Josh up with last minute dinner plans, so at least two days out of the week you were at Sam’s dinner table drinking palomas between the induced-chaos from the siblings.
But now, after a successful move with a couple weeks to decorate, and a delayed flight, Josh stood in your living room, admiring every aspect of it you had put together - the lamps and warm lighting in the corner of the room, a fake fireplace that was lit to resemble a roaring fire, colorful throw pillows on the velvet sofa, a shelf with books and knick-knacks, and a coffee table with incense and candles. And then Josh spotted a particular item on the coffee table, one that immediately made his nose turn up and his lips point into a smile. The Santal 26 candle with a burning wick.
“My favorite,” Josh mused, his hand sliding to your waist, wrapping around you. You giggled.
You had made the point to get the candle. A fucking eighty dollar candle. But you knew it was his favorite, so that dulled the sting a little when you swiped your credit card.
“You’re my favorite,” he continued, nose pressed to your temple.
You laughed again, still a little sleepy, unable to come up with a response before you were pulling him further into your home, through the doorway into your hallway, feet bare on the cold hardwood. You guided him into the bedroom, hand dropping from his as you sat down on the edge of the bed. His eyes roamed across the black accent wall. You had changed your sheets to nicer, fancier ones. You had even bought a humidifier to keep on his usual side of the bed because you knew he always liked to keep one around.
Josh stood in the doorway, admiring the room as a whole when you asked, “are you okay?” with a laugh.
Josh batted his eyes once, then twice, as if pulling himself back into reality with you. He just smiled and walked in further, dropped his duffle bag to the end of the bed, and cradled your face with his hands.
“I’m absolutely perfect,” he told you, his eyebrows raised and stern, letting you know he was telling the truth. “I love it,”
You nodded and let out a small breath of relief, one that even loosened the tension in your shoulders. In addition to the sheets and the humidifier, you felt like you had spent the last twenty-four hours cleaning every surface, putting together a calendar of things for you two to do to ensure he doesn’t get too bored of you, and in the end, panicking about it all.
Josh noticed the change in your face. “Were you worried?” He asked, almost grinning, as if nervousness was something you shouldn’t have even considered.
“Well, yeah, kinda,” you finally said with a light laugh. His thumbs caressed the apples of your cheeks and you looked up to him as he stood between your knees. “I wanted to make sure everything was perfect when you got here. I mean, you’ve been on the road for a while and I wanted you to be comfortable and relaxed.” You shrugged. “I wanted it to feel like a home.”
“Baby, you’ve made this feel more like a home than my actual house.” He admitted and your eyes fluttered shut in relief, a laugh escaping your lips a second later. His eyes were still trained on you, and you nodded. “It’s perfect, absolutely perfect. It could be me and you and this big house and nothing else, and it would still be perfect.”
“Okay,” you whispered, relieved, “I guess I was being stupid.”
“A little,”
You quickly pinched at his side, causing him to chuckle as he turned away. Ticklish. You looked back up at him with a gentle grin. “Shut up,”
Josh could only laugh. He kissed your forehead, the tip of your nose, and when you scrunched your nose a second later, he smiled and kissed your lips.
“Okay, okay, get settled in,” you slapped at his butt, “do you want something to eat? Drink? I got mini marshmallows and know how to make a mean hot chocolate.”
“You really know how to swoon me,” he teased.
You rolled your eyes playfully and stood. Josh made himself busy with his duffel bag and you walked back out of the bedroom to the kitchen. There you poured milk and cocoa powder, sugar, and salt into a saucepan on the stove and listened to the music coming from the television in the living room. Something from Mazzy Star. You felt a little more awake, willing to spend the night with him rather than sleeping.
Once the mixture was warm, you pulled it from the heat and sat it to the side to add the chocolate and whisked it until it was melted. When you grabbed a mug from the rack on the counter, you sank back to your original height and into Josh as he stepped up behind you.
“Do you want anything else? Something to eat?” You asked as he wrapped his arms around your waist, as he began to move with the natural sway over your body, side to side.
“No, I’m fine,” he told you, breath ghosting over the back of your neck before he kissed across your shoulders. “I missed you,” he said. He gripped at the material of your sweatshirt, his other hand sliding under it, rubbing at your skin. “I thought about you the entire time I was gone.”
You popped a few small marshmallows on the top of the hot chocolate and sat it to the side before you turned in Josh’s arms to face him. He had ditched the winter coat, his white t-shirt underneath, but he was so warm, a nice contrast to the dropping temperatures outside.
“I missed you too,” you said. “Do you have any plans now that you’re back?”
Josh dropped his head, forehead to your chest, and sighed. You reached up and touched the back of his head, fingers in his (still damp from his shower) curls that were so soft against your palm. You continued to sway, rocking you both back and forth.
“No, fuck all. Just want to sleep in and be with you.”
You smiled. You pressed a hand to his face and tilted his head back enough to kiss his forehead. Josh hummed and raised his head, nose nestling along the crescent of your jaw and then he kissed you, softly, perfectly. Eyes fluttered shut, you sank into his touch, the feeling of his body against yours, his mouth on yours.
In the adjacent living room, your playlist continued to shuffle. The hot chocolate came to mind again and you broke the kiss with a tiny laugh, and Josh mouthed at your chin as you reached for the cup.
“Here, before it gets cold,” you said, shoving it towards him.
“I’ll get it a second, let’s just stay here,”
“Like this?”
“Mhm,”
You sat the mug back down onto the counter and Josh reached up, taking your hand in his and intertwined your fingers. Arm around his shoulders, you watched carefully as he straightened his posture and held your hand, and began to rock with you. You two danced in the kitchen, in the lowlight.
When I set my eyes on you Gonna keep you out of town at night When I set my eyes on you Not gonna be outta my sight
Josh stepped back and held his arm and hand high to spin you. You giggled as you turned and he pulled you back into his grip.
“You should come with me next time,” Josh said, hand back in his, and you two moved, bodies ebbed and flowed so effortlessly.
You raised a brow, taken by surprise at the sudden request. “On the road?”
“Yeah, why not? Not for the whole time, if you don’t want to, maybe just a few days or a week.” He offered. “You can come - visit new places, stay in nice hotels, watch us play…”
“Of course a selling point is getting in free to a show to see your face.”
“But I think you’re pretty partial to seeing my face after all, baby,”
You laughed, rounding the kitchen island, feet moving slowly but with perfect precision, like you two were trained dancers. But instead of being trained in dance, you two didn’t know the dance at all, you just knew each other that well to move as one.
“Pretty partial to seeing your pretty face,” you teased and Josh shot you a grin that made your heart flutter in your chest. “I would love to. Just tell me when.”
Josh pulled you in closer to rock back and forth and you listened to him hum the chorus of the song playing;
And now you know Everywhere on earth you go You’re gonna have me as your man
