Tbh one of the things that annoyed me about season 4 was the writers refusal to really engage with the things that Allison did in season 3. Ray is just Not There for Reasons. Luther and Allison are not allowed to interact ever again. And Allison’s relationship and dynamic with Claire is just so superficial and muddy/unclear (especially set beside Klaus and Claire’s very fleshed-out dynamic).
Allison’s actions are really only brought up to be brushed aside, in the two scenes where the characters are allowed a cursory mention.
Viktor: “Look. You did what you did. I get it. […] But we're not friends. And that sucks, but it doesn't have to be some huge thing.”
And I feel like it’s just another instance in season 4 where the writers did not have the guts to deal with something complicated and messy, and so they did the easier thing and just opted out. Just had the characters give up on each other. It is a massive bummer imo that after 3 seasons of fighting to be there for each other, this is the last real conversation that Viktor and Allison get to have before they both die.
Allison didn’t even really get the opportunity to try to make things right with Viktor and Luther and the rest of her family. But hey, instead, let’s have Viktor reconcile with his abusive father for half the season. Sure.

The Day of Swapped Powers
Five Hargreeves x Fem!reader
Warnings: none
In the dimly lit basement of the Umbrella Academy, Five Hargreeves and his wife Y/n were elbow-deep in an experimental project. Y/n, with her ability to read minds, and Five, the seasoned time traveler, were working on a device designed to enhance their powers temporarily. It was supposed to be a simple test, but, as with most things involving the Hargreeves family, things quickly spiraled out of control.
"Are you sure this is safe?" Y/n asked, eyeing the array of wires and glowing components skeptically.
Five, ever confident, waved her concern away. "Of course, it’s safe. I’ve triple-checked everything. What could possibly go wrong?"
Those words hung ominously in the air as they activated the device. There was a blinding flash, a strange crackling noise, and then silence.
When the smoke cleared, Y/n and Five blinked at each other in confusion.
"Did it work?" Y/n asked, touching her temples.
Five glanced at his watch, which now displayed an array of random dates and times instead of the usual readings. "I’m not sure. I don’t feel any different."
Just then, Five’s head buzzed with an overwhelming wave of thoughts—Y/n’s thoughts. "Did he forget our anniversary? What if this messes up our abilities permanently? Why does he always have to be so reckless?"
Five’s eyes widened. “Y/n, I can hear your thoughts!”
Y/n stared at him, her eyes widening in shock. “Wait, what? I can’t hear yours anymore!”
Five glanced at the mess of equipment, realization dawning on him. “I think we’ve swapped powers.”
Y/n’s mouth fell open as she processed this. “You mean I can time travel now?”
Five nodded, grimacing. “And I get to hear everyone’s innermost thoughts. Fantastic.”
The next few hours were a comedy of errors as Five and Y/n bumbled through their new abilities.
Y/n stood in the middle of the living room, attempting to blink across the room. She scrunched up her face in concentration, only to find herself standing on top of the coffee table, much to the dismay of Pogo, who was quietly sipping tea.
“Try focusing on where you want to go!” Five shouted from the other side of the room, nursing a headache from the mental chatter of his siblings.
“I’m trying!” Y/n replied, a mix of frustration and determination on her face.
With a deep breath, she managed to blink to the other side of the room—right into a wall. She slid down with a groan, rubbing her nose. “I think I broke something,” she muttered.
Five winced sympathetically, while also struggling to keep Klaus’s incessant mental babble out of his head. "I wonder if I left my sandwich in the fridge or if Luther ate it. Maybe we should have a séance later. Ooh, what’s Five doing?"
Five squeezed his eyes shut. “Klaus, could you please shut up?”
Klaus, lounging on the couch, raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t say anything!”
“I heard you thinking,” Five snapped, pinching the bridge of his nose. “And I don’t care about your sandwich.”
Klaus blinked. “Whoa, you’re reading my mind now? That’s… actually kind of creepy. Cool, but creepy.”
The rest of the day was no less chaotic. Five, now unable to block out people’s thoughts, found himself avoiding crowded rooms and anyone remotely agitated. He fled from Luther’s worries about him being a bad Leader, Diego’s brooding thoughts about his love life, and Allison’s musings about her career.
Y/n, meanwhile, was discovering that time travel was far more complicated than it looked. She tried jumping back to the living room, only to end up in her parents' bedroom. Her Mother's screams could be heard throughout the neighborhood
She reappeared in the living room, panting and wide-eyed. “You didn’t tell me there were so many things to consider when jumping!”
Five, who had taken refuge in the kitchen with a pair of noise-canceling headphones, looked at her sympathetically. “Welcome to my world.”
By evening, they had gathered in the living room with the rest of the family for dinner. Five was trying to block out the cacophony of thoughts, while Y/n was gingerly sipping on a glass of wine, hoping to steady her nerves.
“Are you okay?” Viktor asked, noticing Five’s pained expression.
“Just fine,” Five lied through gritted teeth. "When will this dinner end? If I hear one more thought about mashed potatoes, I’m going to scream."
Y/n shot him a sympathetic look. “We need to figure out how to reverse this,” she murmured.
“Agreed,” Five said, wincing as Klaus’s thoughts about unicorns and rainbows floated into his mind.
After dinner, they returned to the basement to work on the device. Y/n, with a newfound appreciation for the complexities of time travel, meticulously followed Five’s instructions. Five, on the other hand, tried not to get distracted by Y/n’s focused thoughts and their shared determination to fix the mess.
“Okay, try activating it now,” Five instructed, holding his breath.
Y/n flipped the switch, and the device whirred to life. There was another blinding flash, and then everything went silent.
They blinked at each other again. Five tentatively tried to blink across the room and succeeded without ending up in a wall. Y/n reached out with her mind, relieved that she could hear the thoughts of the people she loved.
“We’re back to normal,” Y/n said, exhaling in relief.
“Thank God,” Five muttered, rubbing his temples. “I don’t know how you deal with all that mental noise.”
Y/n laughed, stepping forward to hug him. “It’s not easy, but now I understand how much you handle with time travel. I’m impressed.”
Five returned the hug, a smile tugging at his lips. “I have a newfound respect for your abilities too.”
The next day, as Five and Y/n lounged on the couch recovering from their ordeal, Klaus sauntered in, a mischievous grin on his face.
“So, how was your day in each other’s shoes?” he teased, plopping down next to them.
Five rolled his eyes. “Let’s just say, never again.”
Y/n chuckled, squeezing Five’s hand. “It was definitely an experience.”
Klaus’s grin widened. “Maybe next time you can swap bodies instead. That would be hilarious.”
Five and Y/n exchanged horrified looks before bursting into laughter. No matter how crazy things got, they knew they could always count on each other, even if their powers were temporarily on the fritz.
As they cuddled together on the couch, exhausted but happy, Five realized that their love and partnership could withstand any challenge—even a day of swapped powers.

the empath and the eldritch horror (4/5) - ben hargreeves x empath!reader
Summary: Haven't you heard? It's the end of the world. And what's a small wedding among friends and family? Oh, and Ben is really bad at being a functioning human being. And why does he keep looking at you like he can't decide between kissing and killing you. Wait, what?
Word count: 4.0k
Series masterlist
Warning: drunk!ben, language, angst, fluff (we've got everything!), mention of smut (not the way you think)
Author's note: Still feeling the muse, let's go!
This series was meant to be a three-parter, but while writing this I realized the third part was just the morning after 😅 So, I'm merging everything. Watched S3 after writing this. Just noticed Sloane actually made that dress herself, oops. 🥹 Eight is wearing the dress by Zuhair Murad on the right. For these events, Eight likes to cover her skin due to her powers making her feel sensitive. I figured if Allison can go all out, so can my character. It's the end of the world, what the heck. Please tell me you guys want to read my S4 fic when I start to work on that 🥹🤗 You know how it goes, comments and reblogs feed me.
“Hey, Y/N, where have you been?” The moment you heard Luther’s voice from a distance in the lobby, you turned your head to watch your brother walk arm in arm with Sloane towards you.
You winced at the reminder of the team meeting you had deliberately neglected to show up for. “Oh, I’m sorry. Luther. My body can’t handle the weird tension with Allison and Viktor. I’m all for easing tension, but I’m getting a migraine just being there. The last time I numbed myself was not a good week for me,” you explained, while realizing you were on a rambling roll when you were done.
“I understand. Listen-” Luther started.
“Luther and I just wanted to let you know,” Sloane snuggled deeper into his side before she gingerly raised her bejeweled hand, while pressing her lips together in a nervous but excited energy. “We’re getting married.”
It took you a few seconds to understand what your eyes were seeing. Your giggling eased the tightness in their bodies. “Oh my God. Congratulations, you two.” You had to stretch a bit on your tip toes to reach Luther’s gargantuan shoulders when you tried to hug them both simultaneously.
It was moments like this when you appreciated how Luther always gave the best hugs among your siblings when he squeezed you a tad tighter than you did. Still, no broken bones, no foul.
Lingering in their embrace, you felt like you could breathe again when you said, “I’m so happy for you, Luther. You guys deserve it.”
After finally letting go, Sloane offered you a grateful smile while rubbing the inside of Luther’s arm. “Thank you. It’s tonight, at 6 in the banquet hall. Black tie-” she said, listing off a mental checklist of important information.
“Which is in a few hours, so…” Luther added, chuckling excitedly.
You smiled, letting yourself be swept away by his infectious energy. “Can’t wait. Let me grab a dress real quick,” you replied, pointing with your thumb behind you and secretly hoping there will still some shops open. Or still standing.
Luther nodded in understanding. “Right, you do that. Gotta dash to my bachelor party. Can you believe I just said that?” He already walked a few steps when he stopped in his tracks.
“Forgot something.” With a surprising motion, Luther kissed Sloane, while lowering her into a dip and with such a passion like he didn’t need air. After that public display of affection, he rushed off with an adorable wave.
“You guys are sugary sweet. I feel like I could die just watching you,” you said with a dry tone.
Sloane’s cheeks were blushing when she staggered slightly. “He’s it for me.”
With arching eyebrows, you nodded. “I can see that. Now I gotta think about where to get a dress in the apocalypse.”
While following your steps, Sloane asked, “Do you mind if I catch one with you too?”
You chuckled at their spontaneously planned wedding. “Sure. Let’s make our own bachelorette party, huh? I’ll meet you here later, okay? I’ll be quick.”
“Let’s do that.”
Quickly, you rushed towards the elevator which transported you to the floor of where your hotel room was located.
As soon as you arrived on the floor, Ben’s voice jolted you from behind. “Nice of you to finally show up.”
“Oh God, don’t do that.”
Ben walked by your side as you tried to locate your hotel room. “I told you before, you need to work on your powers.”
“Don’t worry, I felt your cloud of pure bliss when I entered the elevator.” You learned very early on that appearing omnipotent to your surroundings didn’t generally put people at ease.
Ben forced a smile on his face. “You’re hilarious. Did you hear the news already?”
“Judging by your reaction, I can guess which one you meant. Or did another happy event occur which I should know about?” At last, you arrived at your destination when you opened the door to your room and unceremoniously tried to swing it shut behind you.
Ben frowned darkly when he caught it, following after you.
Your eyes wandered over to him, perplexed by his need to continue the conversation. Ben was truly baffling sometimes for calling himself a lone wolf who didn’t need people. Dramatically, you swung your arms around to invite him to your living space.
“Why don’t you enter? Have a seat? Get a drink while you’re at it?”
Almost like accepting the invitation, the mocking undertone ignored for the moment, Ben sat on your made bed. “I mean, getting married? What the hell?”
You grabbed a few clothes from the wardrobe before going into the bathroom to change into them, yet keeping the door slightly ajar.
Feeling like he was being ignored, Ben approached the adjoining wall connecting you. “The apocalypse is right at our door and we’re celebrating a damn wedding?”
“You mean the wedding of your sister? You have to relax with that ‘I can’t stop until I’m at the top’ mindset,” you grumbled in a low voice to imitate Ben’s. “Life doesn’t have to be about missions and constant success.”
“That doesn’t sound anything like me,” Ben grunted. His focus intensified when he heard your clothes rustle as you changed into them. He furrowed his brows, like his attentions focused on what you were doing. “Where are you going?”
“Kind of in a hurry. Going dress shopping with your sister.”
With pursed lips, Ben nodded unwittingly. “Nice to know someone is so damn likable. Having a bachelorette party?”
“It’s a two-way street with us. Sloane is a sweet one and maybe I’m just fun to be around. And it’s not that much of a bachelorette party but …”
Ben felt something soothing stroking his skin.
“Why don’t you just talk to Luther?”
He snorted, crossing his arms. “What makes you think I care about a stupid bachelor party?”
You stepped out of the bathroom after you had changed into looser clothing to adapt to the Kugelblitz absorbing everything around it and with the world going literally up in flames.
“There’s no need to pretend with me, Ben. Maybe you shouldn’t spend time with the person who can feel everything you’re feeling.” You chose to remind him of that little tidbit since he seemed to want to linger within his blissful ignorance. It felt strange that Ben felt safe in confiding in you when he didn’t even like people.
“Luther is just a guy who wants to enjoy his wedding and wants to spend time with the people who care about him.” You implored vehemently, facing Ben again.
With a sarcastic air, Ben scoffed. “So sorry to disappoint that I’m nothing like your precious Ben.”
“You think you’re nothing like him? Sure, you’re way more eager to please daddy dearest. And there’s such a-” Your hands strained around his head in frustration while grunting. Sometimes, Ben’s whole aura compelled you to choke him or at least shake him profusely until some sense would barge into his head. “Dark cloud of wrath surrounding you, it’s insane.”
“You can fool anyone, your family or anyone else. That you don’t want anyone to see that you have goodness inside you. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter who you’re not.” You exhaled heavily.
“You’re Ben Hargreeves from the Sparrow Academy. Or what’s left of it. And I’m here for this Ben. I might want to get to know this guy.” You smiled endearingly, knowing that getting to a stubborn Ben Hargreeves proved harder than you’d expect.
Ben calmly stared at you. He pensively licked his lips before quietly admitting with a hoarse voice, “Stop making me like you.”
You tilted your head, smiling softly. “Why is that such a bad thing?”
“Because I don’t need-” Ben pointed between you and him. “This.”
Well, great. You were dealing with an emotionally stunted Sparrow.
“People are literally dying. Either do something about wanting to be a part of something or don’t.”
Ben shook his head, steeling himself. “Maybe you should work on those powers of yours. You think you know me so well, huh? Because you have no idea who I am.”
His solitude was all-encompassing. How alone he truly felt. After some time you could understand how it could deceive you into feeling like it was a comforting blanket.
“I know you’re the guy who needs people at his side. I know I haven’t said it before, but … I’m sorry about Fei and … you know, Christopher.” Although that grief wasn’t as profound, you could sense that on some level Ben cared. At least, Fei had something fascinating about her even if she tried to kill you with her crow powers.
At the memento of his family’s death or absorption into the black hole, Ben’s features darkened. “Don’t. Don’t pretend to care.”
“Sorry to disappoint then. This is all I can offer.” You shrugged. “Someone has to say it. You know, if someone hasn’t yet.”
Ben leaned forward until you could admire how utterly black his eyes looked. His wrath was wafting in dark smoke around his figure. “What makes you think I care about what you have to say?”
You felt so drained. “Then wh- You know what? Fine. End of the world and all that.” You twirled your finger in the air. “Do what you want.” Your hands made a cutting gesture. “I get to decide how I spend my energy. Just close the door behind you. And, just so you know, I’ll know when you steal something.”
You pointed at Ben threateningly before closing the door behind you.
Ben’s voice reverberated through the threshold. “Why would I steal your stuff?”
You leaned back in the chair, enjoying the taste of champagne in your mouth with the sensation of luxury. “You know, this is actually really nice,” you called out, trying to reach Sloane while she was changing into her dream dress.
You stretched out your legs, trying to relax. “Just us girls, having fun together. No baggage. No worries.” At the memory of impending doom, your eyes widened. “For now at least.”
Standing in the corner of the wedding store, Lila was curiously browsing through the clothes hangers and continued for you, “No annoying boyfriends.”
Through the curtain, Sloane added, “Nothing else to do but try out these gorgeous dresses.” With that, she stepped outside in a high-collared wedding dress.
Seeing her in all her glory, Lila and you hollered in delight.
“You look hot.” Lila draped her leg over your armrest to reach over and pop a small cupcake into her mouth in one go.
You merely raised your glass in silent agreement.
Sloane admired herself in the mirror while swishing with her dress. Disappointment laced her voice when she mused, “Allison could’ve been here.”
“I mean, I could’ve truly convinced her if I wanted her to and make her have fun, but that’s like half the fun.” You poured more liquid into your flute. “Allison wants to hold on to that anger of hers, fine. And just so you know,” you paused. With your glass hanging in the air, you couldn’t help saying out loud, “I’m tired. I don’t have the energy for it.”
“I could have tried my hand at that,” Lila retorted confidently.
You eyed her dubiously. “Are you sure about that?”
Lila shrugged, exhaling. “You’re probably right. Don’t think I want to get inside Allison’s head.” Her body shuddered at the thought of copying your empathetic power before her mood switched when she patted your leg. “Gotta rush to the loo real quick.”
You chuckled deeply. “Your cupcakes will still remain here,” you promised wholeheartedly.
Silently, Lila pointed a finger in warning at you. You merely observed her retreating form with knowing eyes.
Sloane continued watching herself in the mirror when she bit her lip while brushing the garment. You cleared your throat when you felt the stroking happening under the skin again.
“Something you want to ask me?” Your eyes met Sloane’s through the reflection.
“Have you talked to Ben yet?”
You chuckled at the mention of her brother, groaning loudly. “Did I tell you I’m tired already?”
Sloane smiled ruefully. “He took up all your energy?” The following heavy sigh perfectly encapsulated how it felt like to describe someone like him. “Ben, he’s, I think he has so much potential to be something more.”
Silently, you raised your eyebrows before adding, “Are you trying to tell me something I don’t already know?”
“He seems different around you.”
“You mean more intense? Are you trying rationalize him?”
Sloane chuckled while shaking her head. “I think you terrify him.”
“Thank you. That’s the biggest compliment anyone has ever given me,” you said sarcastically before emptying your glass. “You know, I’m over my bad boy phase.”
Excitedly, Sloane turned to gaze directly at you. “Wait, so you’re saying you’re into my brother?”
You shook your head vehemently at the mere insinuation while groaning. Not opening that can of worms.
“Ugh, nope, no. Not doing that. I’m not talking about your brother while you’re looking like a million bucks. Besides, today is about you.” You stood up with a coy smile, waving your hand at the mirage that was Sloane’s body.
“Damn right, it is.” Lila magically appeared to agree. “Are we coming to a decision?”
A sigh of deep regret exhaled from Sloane’s lips. “I think it’s going to be dress number one. What can I say? I liked trying on all these dresses.” She gushed while eyeing Lila and you. “And the company.”
“Aren’t you a doll,” Lila replied softly.
“Yes, Luther and you really deserve each other.”
You were wearing your long-sleeved golden dress when you entered the banquet hall. Despite the time crunch, everything was set up quite beautifully. With the lighting making everything appear almost intimately. You were getting some prom vibes with the balloons and the retro flair, but you didn’t feel like judging them for the quick setting up.
Luther joined you near the entrance, smiling warmly. “Fashionably late?”
You shrugged shyly. “As always.”
“How are you feeling?” Like when you were still kids, Luther patted your hair soothingly, making you feel all warm inside. Knowing how overwhelmed you could get with big events, or as big as they could get with the Kugelblitz absorbing people.
“Don’t worry, I’d prefer a wedding over a funeral.” You smiled warmly, staring up at him with pride. “Look at you, big guy. Can’t believe you’re getting hitched,” you said, playfully nudging his shoulder with your knuckles.
You felt the stirring sensation again. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Ben standing in the distance with Allison, sending you an inscrutable expression. Not exactly a scowl on his face, but still something dark remained while he was leaning with his crossed arms against the wall.
Luther’s positive energy pulled you back. He shared a beaming smile at you. “It’s really happening, huh,” he mused, burying his gloved hands in his trouser pockets. “Sloane told me you went dress shopping with her. I really appreciate you taking the time to get to know her.”
“Well, kinda already did that almost a week ago.” After seeing Luther’s blank expression, you continued, “When we were abducted?”
“Right. Feels so long ago.”
“At least our little get-together with Sloane was kinda fun. A small reprieve from the chaotic mess of everything.”
Luther nodded. “I feel you.” He was getting all jittery before he even said the next part. “God, I can’t wait to be married. I’ll see you outside.”
After a very emotional wedding ceremony—also because of Klaus’ flamboyant theatrics—Luther and Sloane were finally husband and wife. Watching them bask in their wedding dance was slowly getting to your sentimental vibes, you realized. Wanting them to have their moment, you joined the table of Klaus and Ben with your cocktail.
“… ridiculously easy to love,” Klaus finished with a fond presence.
“Am I interrupting a heartfelt moment?” You softly asked before filling the seat at Klaus’ side and taking a hearty gulp.
“Beautiful Y/N, join us! We’re reminiscing.” Klaus gushed with absolute joy, throwing his arms around your middle. With a quiet murmur, he whispered to himself, “I think that’s the word. Oh, dad’s holding a speech.” Klaus jumped from his seat.
“Did you know our Y/N loves seafood?” Klaus whispered like he was sharing a secret with Ben. His gaze switched over to yours. “Be a dear and keep sullen Ben company,” he said before sauntering away without a care in the world.
Blinking slowly, Ben’s words were uttered just as slowly. Like choosing them carefully. “Your dress is really … golden.”
“Wow.” You nodded to yourself, with a smile. “And you’re very drunk.”
Ben’s gaze wandered around. “Everyone’s leaving. Even Sloane prefers that big walking ape.”
“She’s not leaving. Your sister just found something else she liked more.”
“You mean liked doing more,” Ben mumbled tauntingly.
You had to restrain from barfing at the idea of your brother having sex. As much as a drunk Ben was kinda hilarious. “Oh, that’s gross, Ben,” you said, trying to stop yourself from laughing.
A solemn sigh exhaled from your lips. “You didn’t ask Luther, did you?” You asked knowingly.
Ben’s shoulders almost appeared too heavy for him to lift when he shrugged them carelessly. “I don’t get an invite and dad just gets to show up to this wedding. What does it matter?”
Ben mindlessly fiddled with the small straw in his drink. The speeches were over for now and people started mingling on the dance floor.
“I think it does to you. How people see you. To be liked. Makes you endearing in a way. We all just want to be accepted for who we are.”
Ben supported his chin with his hand in a casual manner, or at least tried to, when he missed it by a few inches. Instead, he held up the side of his head with his whole palm while observing you through bleary eyes.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” He mumbled quietly.
It was moments like these when Ben revealed stuff like this which broke your heart. “Are you not used to this experience?”
“I don’t understand you,” he mumbled. “Sometimes you make it really hard not to like you.”
Inwardly, you felt bliss fill you up at the unexpected compliment coming from someone like him. Even if that little confession delighted you, your concern for his inebriated state was higher.
“Easy there, buckaroo. Maybe you should have more shrimps. Or at least some bread,” you advised, sliding over a glass filled with grissini. “Someone is quite a talker when they’re drunk, huh?”
“Someone cares about my well-being.” With a sing-song voice, Ben taunted and smirked cheekily.
You smiled wistfully, almost bittersweetly. “You know what I think?” You paused, intuitively envisioning a possible future scenario. “I tell you how tonight’s gonna go down. You’ll have fun, lose all your inhibitions. Because you didn’t have to try so hard to be number one. Or be the best at everything.”
Speaking slowly, you added, “Tomorrow, you’re going to wake up, with all your guards up again. No longer chummy with the people around you. And a part of you is going to regret ever being this real version of yourself. All adorable and sweet.”
Ben chuckled suavely. “You calling me sweet? You know what I think?” He took up the empty seat of Klaus, almost toppling over with the effort. “You’re secretly into me.”
You rolled your eyes at Ben’s ability to feed his own ego. With a satisfied smile, you turned it back on him. “And you actually like that thought.”
“Oh, you think you’re so smart.”
“Whoa, déjà vu.”
“Okay, then tell me what I want.” Ben smirked confidently, waving to himself.
“It’s been a long time since someone dared me for a party favor.” Trying to keep him in suspense for a bit longer, you bit your lip and tilted your head in mock speculation. But then you whispered conspiratorially, “You want me to dance with you, Ben Hargreeves.”
Blowing air through his mouth, Ben groaned. “That’s what you think? Is this how you get guys—with that little technique?” He twirled his finger in your direction.
You arched your eyebrows. “Then tell me I’m wrong.”
He snorted. “I’m not falling for that trick.”
“Maybe. But now I’m in your head, Hargreeves,” you sang tauntingly before laughter sprang free. “Come on, it’s just one night to let loose.”
You stood up, beckoning him closer while walking backwards towards the dance floor. “I promise, tomorrow you can pretend to be the asshole again. Just have some fun for a night.”
“We can’t all be Little Miss Sunshine.”
You snorted loudly at that description. If anything, as an Empath, you were almost an antithesis to the preconceived notion of an all-caring and always-happy disposition.
“Only you would think that. Come on, Benny-boo. Show me those dance moves of yours.”
“You’re a bad influence,” he mumbled before he gobbled down another shrimp. Ben reached for you and energetically spun you in a circle until your fingers held onto his chest for stability.
“Stop calling me by that name,” he whispered, only for your ears to hear.
You let go of Ben, sending him a smoldering gaze over your shoulder. “Why don’t you make me?” You mocked, strolling over to the bride to dance with her and watched as he joined the fray reluctantly, but no less swayed.
“You owe me,” he mouthed.
In the end, you chose to ignore his little warning by teasingly shrugging your shoulders. “I can’t hear you.”
One hangover later … for Ben
“Did someone ever tell you, you look cute when you’re trying to fall asleep in an upright position?”
You watched in fascination how your words jolted Ben awake while he was leaning against the elevator wall, with his shirt pulled halfway down his muscled torso.
“Excellent workout routine, by the way.” You felt obliged to mention.
Ben grunted, rubbing his cheeks to awaken his senses even more. At the hint, he pulled his shirt down the rest of the way. “Why is Karma coming after me so hard?”
You stepped inside the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby for show, since Ben didn’t even select a button when he entered.
“It’s not Karma, Ben. It’s a literal hangover.”
Feeling a heated stare linger on you, your eyes met Ben’s whose blinking eyes tried to focus on you. With his arms crossed, his shoulder leaned against the other wall. “Then why do you look so pretty?”
You teasingly nudged his shoulder. “Aww, Ben Hargreeves, what a charmer. My body works in mysterious ways.”
Comfortable silence hung in the air the longer the elevator traveled to its intended destination.
“You know, your brother is a dick.” Finally, Ben decided to end the quiet.
You pursed your lips when several people who fitted that description entered your mind. Especially with a wedding in the past and many lowered inhibitions.
“Uh… which one are we talking about? You’re checking a lot of boxes right now.”
“Klaus,” Ben enunciated with every fiber of his being.
You nodded, comprehending their cautious bond. During the previous night, Klaus and Ben proved to be the tightest of bosom buddies. The fallout was unfortunate. Ben didn’t have a lot of people in his life. Most of your family would rather label him as Not-Ben in their heads instead of getting to know him as his own person.
So, yes, your family could be dicks sometimes.
“Well, he’s trying. The former Ben and him were like the closest for years.” You recalled fondly. Deciding to cheer Ben up a bit, you remarked playfully, “Judging by last night, you two were up to some wild shenanigans.”
Ben reached for your arm. “Wait. What happened last night?”
Chuckling, you shook your head. Almost impressed with last night’s Ben. “You were something else last night. I mean, you were just showing off with your tentacles. They were like really touch-starved. How are they even feeling after that spectacle?”
“Come again?”
The doors opened before you could divulge more. “Uh, you might want to check your shirt again. It’s still backwards. See you at the breakfast buffet.”
“This conversation isn’t over.” Ben exclaimed with great ardor before the doors shut again.

"Thanks," Luther responded with a tone holding more sarcasm than sincere gratitude. Still, he'd take the backhanded compliment over a direct insult. His other siblings hadn't exactly been offering any better lately. He'd thought keeping the team together in their youth was challenging, but as adults it proved so much worse, like no one cared at all, but he cared. Luther still cared.
He exhaled slowly through his nose as Five went on. His first statement, sobering up and then go home, seemed more likely than the reverse. If all else failed, he could always employ the last resort option. Usually, when this happened with Klaus before he moved out, Luther could physically drag him home if he found him. However, there were a couple instances where he'd just let Klaus have more until he passed out. That made him easier to carry.
Luther didn't want to let Five do that though. Whether or not Five was a child mentally made little difference to Luther. His physical health pertained to the body he had now: that of a child. He shouldn't be drinking at all. He watched more than commented as Five reminisced, talked to the mannequin, lost his focus on the conversation, and then returned to address him again. Typical. He ignored the final statement, not deterred.
"Yeah? Did you do your calculations to get here like this too? How'd that turn out?" He sighed, "Sorry, but if you think sobering up won't help whatever all this is-" Referring to the mathematical figuring scattered around Luther wouldn't even bother to try to understand, "-maybe you just seem intelligent too. Let's go home."
you're drunk. delores always nagged him about his drinking. about how it affected his mood. but it is the only way to get through the fact that he's already failed at the one thing he's spent his whole life working towards. for a night he wants to just wallow before getting back to the grind tomorrow. he can save the world. but the eye was a bust and now he had to figure everything else out. okay, maybe he shouldn't have got plastered as it would waste time but five could always make it up again.
why was luther even here? did he care about his smaller and yet older brother or was it to save face for their deceased father? number one, always under the thumb of the old man. unable to see his family as anything more than those to order around. not that five had ever listened. " and you seem intelligent but that seems to be a lie too. "
being drunk doesn't stop him insulting his siblings.
" i've been drinking longer than you've been alive. this isn't even my worst binge. that was a wild birthday. " and depressing as shit. his thirtieth birthday had not been enjoyable in the apocalypse and once he'd outlived his siblings natural life spans he'd felt the need to down every single case of alcohol he could find. home. where is home anyway? " i don't need to sober up. i need to keep working. " no, you need to sober up. listen to your brother, five. great, now delores is also ganging up on him.
" i'm fine, delores. you finished looking at the temporal vectors yet? " for a moment he forgets that luther is even there. before his attention is drawn back to his brother. " you also do realise you have never been able to make me go anywhere you want me to go? "

Chapter 2: Run Boy Run
Today was a day like any other, you were double checking the number of plates, meals, and utensils on the table, in case Miss Grace missed something. Though that rarely happens since she is a robot and all. Although she never said it out loud, you knew that she gave you this task to give you a sense of purpose and fulfillment. After all, you couldn’t really help around the house because you were too small - you could easily be mistaken as an eight year old thanks to your height - so you could not help around the house as much as you would like to, the only way you could help around the house was through little things.
As you were busy prepping the table and double checking, Grace carefully placed a vinyl CD on a record player. It whirred and spun the disc for a few seconds till the narrator began voicing a detailed guide on how one must carefully trek a mountain.
"Have you double checked everything Y/N?" The robot asked with a smile, which you reciprocated with both a nod and a smile.
"Yes, Ms. Grace, everything is in order."
"Alright, I'll be calling the others over for breakfast, don't hesitate to join them if you are hungry." She offered whilst she gestured to the vacant seats on the front row seats, enough seats for you and Pogo.
"It's alright Ms. Grace, I already had my fill earlier." You politely declined, as you silently shivered at the idea of sitting besides Mr. Hargreeves; you would most likely lose your appetite before you could open your mouth.
Grace acknowledged your words with a nod and proceeded to ring the bell. In a hurry, you rush to the right side of Mr. Hargreeves’ chair to set it in place before he sits down. On cue, the numbers came flooding into the dining room, they all stood behind their assigned chairs awaiting for the head of the household's orders.
As the Monocle showed up followed suit by his unnerving presence, though everyone was used to it at this point. He then stood before the table, barely glancing at his children nor uttering a greeting instead his lips uttered a command, "Sit."
In synchrony, they sat down then chowed down on their breakfast. However, the others were busy with other things besides eating like: how Allison and Luther were making googly eyes at each other, Diego carving something on his chair's armrest, Klaus secretly making a blunt, Ben reading a book as he ate, and then there was Five who looking at his father, voicelessly requesting his attention - this mere action alone caused you to raise a brow, it was odd - though you knew one thing, you and Vanya knew that something was about to go down.
In your attempt to intercept, you were about to go to Five’s side to ask what was wrong but before you could take another step, he stabbed the table followed by the sound of ceramics and utensils jumping in surprise, catching the attention of the other numbers and the head of the household himself.
"Number Five?"
"I have a question." He stated with a smile, that smile always brought trouble and everyone knew that. In spite of everyone knowing that look, the others continued on with whatever they were doing, as though Five's concern was merely a leaf among the piles of leaves bound to be blown away by the wind.
“If you have a question… wouldn’t it be better you ask the Monocle after breakfast? He will only increase the punishment and training you have to endure if you don’t obey the rules.” You mused to yourself.
"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules," Reginald gestures for you to reiterate the rules for the numbers - especially for Five - but, as you were about to open your mouth, Five talked over you. Albeit, it is annoying that he acts as though you didn’t exist but you already knew that was bound to happen… You just didn’t understand why he didn’t like you.
"I want to time travel."
“Ah, that makes more sense.” You internally groaned as the puzzles began to fall into place, he’s always been the impatient type. Of course he would ask for guidance in the most inconvenient times…
"No." The eccentric billionaire firmly declined as he went on with his meal.
"But, I'm ready. I've been practicing my spatial jumps, just like you said," Five abruptly stands up then teleports to his father's side. "See?"
"A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn." The head of the household spoke in riddles but anyone who liked metaphors or riddles knew what he meant, you can never know the other side of the unknown.
“I’d be damned if he didn’t understand this.” You rolled your eyes at the thought of the brown-haired boy with how openly arrogant he is in everything he does.
Five looks away momentarily trying to process his words but his shoulders dropped indicating he gave up. "Well, I don't get it."
"Hence the reason you're not ready." This remark made the younger male’s face scrunched up in fury. Why was the old man so against time traveling? Was it because no one knew what would happen? Is it because no one was brave enough to face the future we set ourselves up with?
You notice from the corner of your eye that Vanya is shaking her head. Although you did not have telepathy, you can base from her facial expressions and body language that she was begging Five to not do anything reckless. The angry boy in school shorts saw his sister’s attempt but disregarded it.
"I'm not afraid." The boy stood his ground, his way of showing that he was not going to falter to his father’s wishes.
"Fear isn't the issue." The Monocle stated as he paused himself from eating, "The effects it might have on your body, even on your mind, are far too unpredictable."
Five scoffs silently in response to his father’s words. The boy hated how he was right but he’s not going to listen to him anymore, he’s not going to be a puppet like everyone else here in this family.
"Now, I forbid you to talk about this anymore." The old man said as he resumed eating his meal.
From Vanya’s seat, she looks at Five desperately, as if silently begging him to follow through with his father’s orders but he walks away instead. Everyone stopped whatever they were doing because they were shocked, unsure of how to react, they had never thought or acted upon the idea of opposing their father’s wishes.
"Number Five!"
"You haven't been excused!"
"Number Zero I order you to go after him, make sure to remind him that the punishments he will be facing for his misdemeanor will be severe." You nodded and bowed to the head of the household, then ran after Five.
You ran for the door before it could fully close and hastily opened the gate. The person you were after was a few steps away from you, ready to experiment with his powers. Before the boy could activate his powers, you grabbed onto the sleeve of his blazer, which stopped him from whatever he was doing.
"Master Five, your father is requesting for you to finish your breakfast. Now isn't the time for you to experiment with your abilities. You will have more time to explore them after the meal." You repeated the head of Hargreeves household's words, though they weren't the exact wording since you paraphrased it, because you believed his original phrasing was harsh.
The boy in school shorts slowly turned to you with a familiar scowl on his face, almost mirroring his father's signature look. "You infuriate me."
He took slow steps towards your direction, his eyes not leaving your figure. It felt like you were a deer in headlights willingly awaiting for your death to come. Oddly enough, you kept your composure, externally unbothered but internally dreading what will happen next.
"All you ever do is follow that old man like a puppet, you can't even think for yourself and you speak as though you are following a script." He spat, his words seething with anger but for what?
"I have no use for you, so go back to your box." Five ended with a glare and walked away as though he was satisfied with the damage he had done to you.
Tears lurked the corner of your eyes, every time he opens his mouth you always find yourself crying. Were you the problem? You didn't understand why he was so mean to you and why Vanya cared for him so much. However, you knew you couldn't cry, you didn’t deserve to cry. Plus, you'd give him the satisfaction of hurting you, so it was best to keep it all in. Bottling it up is the only way...
Reluctantly, you came back to the house empty handed.
Unbeknownst to you as you walked away, the satisfaction Five would have in hurting you would be short-lived. Five took huge steps to time travel, with each time he used his powers, the atmosphere and environment of the street he walked upon changed with every step of the way.
"Not ready my ass." Five sneered as he walked away from the mess of a household he used to live in.
For once, he felt like he was free from the shackles his father placed onto him, just because he had finally proven the old man wrong and he could live life how he wanted it to be. The old man was only preventing him from reaching his full potential. He can only hope that from this point on that he continues to prove him wrong.
However, the third time he traveled to the future, he was presented with a different future he had in mind. Everything he once knew lay in ruins, a wasteland of rubble and debris. Remnants of what was once a home or a business are what was left of the city. A once-great civilization now reduced to nothingness.
Five stood amongst the rubble devastated by what the future had become. It was now a world of despair, a place where hope had been lost and the future was uncertain. Out of desperation, Five ran to where he once came but all he saw was rubble, no sign of salvation within sight.
"Y/N!" No one responded.
"VANYA!" Silence.
"BEN!" Not a word was uttered.
"DAD!" Quiet, except for the sounds of fire crackling.
"ANYONE!" The deafening silence was making the child mentally mad, the sound of his own heart beating in his ears and erratic breathing made it difficult to focus.
Frenzied by the future he encountered, he tried to use his powers to undo his mistake, "Come on!"
The boy's powers fizzled as blue energy spilled out of his hands but it didn't work, he was still stuck, "Shit."
He didn't understand why, but the brown-haired boy immediately lost hope. The realization of him being stuck in this future caused his knees to buckle. Five watched the house as he grew up in flames, as the voice of his father saying "I told you so," echoed in his head.
ㅤㅤㅤ❲ T H E ☕ S E R V A N T ❳
"I survived on scraps, canned food, cockroaches, and anything I could find." Five chuckles at the thought of his hardships while you on the other hand couldn't imagine living life like that. You don't even think the others would have what it takes to survive that kind of environment.
"You know that rumor that Twinkies have an endless shelf life? Well, it's total bullshit." He added.
Vanya frowned, "I can't even imagine."
"You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die." The boy said, you could even hear a smidge of sadness in his tone, "So, we adapted. Whatever the world is, we found a way to overcome it."
"We?" You and Vanya questioned at the same time.
Every time Five brought up the apocalypse, he always made it a point that no one survived. So who was this other person? If he says that no one survived then why would there be another survivor? Was he experiencing the effects of time travel or was he that desperate to be sane that he had to project a human onto something?
The brown-haired boy brought the mug up to his lips, but he looked displeased by the lack of taste. "You got anything stronger?"
"Why is Five avoiding mentioning the other person? " You hummed to yourself as you downed the drink. It didn't make sense why he'd hide the other person's identity unless they are detrimental to him in some way, but how?
Obediently, Vanya refills the drink with Vodka and Five effortlessly downs it in one go. From one glance, he already knew what was going on inside your heads.
"You both think I'm crazy." He accused you guys, which caught you off guard and stopped your line of thinking.
"No," Vanya stammered as more words came out of her mouth. "It's just… it's a lot to take in."
"Quantum physics is difficult to understand especially if it hasn't been put into study so it would be understandable we would still be digesting this information…" You tried to reason with Five, which he somehow deemed as reasonable.
Frustrated, Five's nostrils flared as he inhaled plenty of air. "Exactly what don't you understand?"
"Why didn't you just time travel back?" The violinist repeated the question others used earlier.
Five scoffs then sighs, "Gee, wish I'd thought of that. Time travel is a crapshoot. I went into the ice and never acorn-ed."
"You think I didn't try everything to get back to my family?" Everyone in the room went silent, especially you.
You felt guilty for assuming he didn't want to go back home. After all, everyone in the household had no problem saying they would leave the house and it would be a dream come true if they did. You presumed that Five felt the same way, like he had attained freedom the moment he shook you off his trail but, apparently he didn't… Maybe if you had been persistent in pursuing him, then he wouldn't be suffering right now. By any chance, did he secretly wish you had stopped him from time traveling to the apocalypse?
"If you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?" The petite girl reiterated one of the questions that was asked earlier.
The boy in school shorts scoffs, "I told you already…" He sighs then begins to refill the mug with more alcohol. "I must have got the equations wrong."
"I mean, Dad always used to say that time travel could mess up your mind. Well, maybe that's what's happening?"
Your eyes widened at Vanya's words; the fact she was ballsy enough to say that Five had gone mad right to his face was something you didn't hear everyday nor even witness. From the looks of it as well, the boy himself was offended by his sister's statement but tried to hide it from her.
"This was a mistake, you're too young." He walks away from both you and Vanya, "Too naive."
Before he could walk out the door, the violinist grabbed his wrist, coincidentally recreating a past memory you had with Five, "No, Five… Five, wait!"
The boy in school shorts stopped by the door as he slowly turned his attention to his sister. On the other hand, you felt like a leftover, something that's meant to be given attention later, what the hell were you supposed to do?
"I haven't seen you in a long time, and I don't want to lose you again." The petite girl pleaded, her grip on his small wrist tightened, "That's all."
"And you know what, it's getting late, and I have lessons early and I need sleep, and I'm sure you do, too." She excused but you all knew no one was buying it.
Vanya then began to prep the couch for you guys, whilst helping her gather pillows and blankets for you and Five. Though you doubt that you would be able to stand sharing a couch to sleep on with Five.
"Here."
"We'll talk in the morning again. Okay? I promise." Vanya pleaded before she began heading to her room. "Night."
"Night." Five reciprocated her greeting, his eyes following Vanya as she headed to her room.
You did not know what to do… After you had just digested the information he gave, you had the sudden urge to hug Five but; you knew that you couldn't because he would probably find it awkward and you were not his sibling; you were not obligated to comfort him if he practically deems you as a stranger. Though at the back of your mind, something was nagging you to comfort him somehow.
As your thoughts of comforting the boy were internally eating you away, in the midst of your panic you incidentally saw that one of his hands rested beside his thigh as he restlessly drummed his fingers against the couch. Out of instinct, you placed a hand on top of his, his muscles became tensed at the gesture.
"What are you doing?" Five looked you in the eye, trying to figure out what you were up to.
You gulped then avoided his gaze, "I'm sorry…"
"For what?"
"For not stopping you."
His once tensed muscles relaxed at your words followed by his signature scoff, "That's one way of driving yourself crazy."
"I should have been there to stop you like your father told me but the moment you told me I was just a puppet… I- I stopped thinking and let you go instead. If I had continued acting like one, none of this would have ever happened… you wouldn't be suffering right now."
"I used to do that." Five said with a sad smile as he looked out the window, "I used to blame myself for not listening to the old man or for not letting you drag me back into the house but, then I reminded myself that I made that choice. It's a learning experience now, it's not something I can undo. The only thing I can do now is prevent the apocalypse."
Your clammy hands found themselves playing with the frills of your dress, unsure what to do with them. You didn't expect - actually, never expected - him to comfort you nor for him to accept the past. It felt so weird hearing something mature come out of Five's mouth, especially knowing how arrogant he is.
Out of nowhere, the boy took out an object wrapped in cloth from his pocket, he carefully unraveled the cloth and revealed a glass eye. He rotated it to the back to show the serial code, the batch number and the company it came from.
"I'm guessing that this eye belongs to the person responsible for the apocalypse?" You quipped more at ease after you opened up your feelings.
"Possibly, it's the only lead to the mastermind." He said, stood up then quickly shoved the eye back into his pocket.
"You're leaving? What about Vanya?" You asked, not wanting to leave her hanging by a thread, unaware of you and Five's departure.
The boy in school shorts merely rolled his eyes at your words; Vanya was the only thing that you could think of even after he told you the apocalypse was nearing. Back then, he would have found this habit of yours annoying, considering how you always doted on the violinist but, after what he went through, it felt like your doting felt refreshing and nostalgic for him.
"We'd only be wasting our time here. Unless you want to stay behind?"
In the end, you guys end up leaving Vanya's apartment through the front door this time. After asking around, purchasing a map, splitting up numerous times and almost getting lost, you guys finally managed to find the company where the glass eyeball came from. From the outside, it looked like a sleek corporation office. Whilst from the inside, the building follows the same vibe as the exterior. It was mostly white, and the walls were made of glass, nothing out of the ordinary, it's what most people considered “modern'' in this day and age.
You stood by the boy in school shorts who was holding onto the glass eye like it is his lifeline; To be fair, it is humanity’s lifeline. If you guys do not identify what caused the apocalypse nor end it then it is the end for everyone. So you could not blame him for carrying it with utmost care. While at it, Five is taking paces back and forth as his eyes wander around the lobby until a doctor that was passing by finally took notice of you guys’ presence.
"Uh, can I help you?"
Five smiled then showed the eyeball to the older man, "I need to know who this belongs to."
"Where did you get that?" The doctor’s eyebrows furrowed as his tone changed. Which took you by surprise, “Why’d he lose his composure all of a sudden? ”
"Why do you care?" The boy shot back, which made you internally slap yourself because you knew his response just arose suspicion from the doctor. You had to make an excuse quickly!
"He… I mean, we found it at a playground, actually." You said with a sheepish smile, but the doctor didn’t seem to buy it.
"Uh, it must have just…" Five clicks his tongue, "Popped out." He ended with a smile. To everyone, that smile seemed harmless but you knew that smile was anything but harmless.
"We want to return it to its rightful owner." You added with a smile, but it became more sheepish instead. You can only pray that the doctor and the receptionist just thought you were the awkward one.
"Aw… You kids are so thoughtful." The receptionist wore a small smile.
"Yeah, look up the name for me, will ya?" The boy dismissed the compliment, wanting to get to the point immediately.
"Uh, I'm sorry, but patient records are strictly confidential. That means I can't tell you-"
"Yeah, I know what it means." Five butted in as his eyes narrowed at the doctor.
"But, I'll tell you what I can do. I will take the eye off your hands and return it to the owner. I'm sure the owner of the eye will be very grateful, so if I can just -" The doctor's hand is out in the open, ready for Five to place the eye on but, the boy beside you merely glared at the hand.
"Yeah, you're not touching this eye." He threatened, his eyes hinting the peak of his anger was on the verge of pouring out.
"No, you listen here, young man-" Before the doctor could finish speaking, Five grabbed him by the collar which made him grunt, his eyes widening at the “young” man’s actions, "No! You listen to me, asshole. I've come a long way for this. Through some shit your pea brain couldn't even comprehend, so just give me the information I need, and I'll be on my merry way."
Before the older man could speak, Five interrupted him, "And if you call me 'young man' one more time, I'm gonna put your head through that damn' wall."
"Oh, dear." Both you and the receptionist mutter, though you more or less expected this from Five.
Despite the fear coursing through the doctor’s veins, he softly requests for the receptionist to call security to which she complies to.
Not wanting to cause anymore trouble, you approached Five and patted his shoulder and whispered, "We should get going…"
Five reluctantly let the man go then leave the building with you in tow. You both head back to the Umbrella Academy to try and find another way to get information on the lead. Leaving behind a confused receptionist and a doctor terrified of the 'younger' generation.
As you guys headed back home, Vanya woke up to find her apartment lacking you and Five’s presence, panic filled her then she began looking for you guys everywhere in her apartment building but found no one. Despite her uneasiness to return to the academy, it was the only place she could think of as to where you guys would return.
In the end, she sucked it up and went back, the violinist arrived at the academy, only to find it empty. She found it rather ironic because of how loud the decorations were compared to what she was hearing. The petite girl couldn't even hear Grace nor Pogo, where the hell was everyone?
"Five?"
"Y/N?"
Out of desperation, she heads upstairs whilst screaming. "Are you upstairs?"
"Five? Y/N?" The petite girl takes a turn to go to where their old bedrooms were located.
As she arrives at Five's room, she met a familiar face, relief washes over her. "Oh, thank God."
"I was worried sick about you guys." She admitted a hand ready to be placed on Five's shoulder but she noticed something odd. "Where's Y/N?"
"Sorry, we left without saying goodbye."
Vanya raised a brow at this, it was rare for Five to acknowledge Y/N's presence. Even when he talks, the boy usually goes out of his way to exempt her, it's usually the servant who bothers to use pronouns like 'we' or corrects him but this time, he acknowledged her presence. It was rather odd… perhaps they were getting closer?
"No, look, I'm the one that should be sorry." Vanya sighs a hand on her chest. "Yeah, I was dismissive, and…"
The boy in school shorts walks closer showing to his sister that he is willing to listen.
"I- I guess I didn't know how to process what you were saying like Y/N said. And I still can't, to be honest." She added, her gaze elsewhere most likely ashamed to show the regret in her eyes.
"Maybe you were right to be dismissive." Five exhales through his nose, "Maybe it wasn't real after all."
He turns and approaches his dresser to examine the decoration he had left behind years ago. "It felt real. Well… like you said, the old man did say time travel could contaminate the mind."
"Then maybe I'm not the right person for you to be talking to. Look, I used to see someone. A therapist. I could give you her information." Vanya suggested, as she rummaged through her sling bag ready to write down the number but she stopped midway through when Five gestured for her to not continue further.
"Thanks, but… I think I'm just gonna get some rest. It's been a long time since I got a good sleep." Five declined her offer.
"Okay." The violinist sighs as she retreats her hand from her sling bag then walks away.
The boy was about to follow her to check if she was going to leave the academy. Unfortunately, he was interrupted by items clattering, followed by you falling on your knees while Klaus comes out of the closet, take that as you will.
"Remind me again why I had to be shoved into a closet?" You muttered, wiping away the sweat that accumulated on your forehead. "Especially with Klaus."
"That's so… touching, all that stuff about family and Dad and time. Wow!" Klaus rejoiced with his hands up, though it was hard to tell if he was being sarcastic.
"Master Klaus, we just got Vanya off of our trail. I'd suggest lowering your voice if you don't want her coming back." You suggested but your suggestion only fell into deaf ears.
"I'm moist." The Seance declared, you guys were unsure if he was declaring that he was moist from sweat.
The arrogant boy took one look at Klaus' outfit, only for a displeased look to settle on his face. "I thought I told you to put on something professional."
"Unfortunately, that's the closest we can get to something professional with Master Klaus' closet." You sadly admitted, as you silently helped yourself up, since everyone seemed to be busy with themselves.
Five sighs then checks to the hallway to see if Vanya was still there. "We'll raid the old man's closet."
The curly haired male rolled his eyes, "Whatever, as long as I get paid."
"When the job is done, you'll get paid." You reassured him.
"Okay, but just so we're clear with the finer details, I just gotta go into this place and pretend to be your dear old dad, correct?"
"Yeah, something like that." Five confirmed about to make his way to Master Hargreeves room but Klaus' next question made everyone stop in their tracks.
"What's our cover story?"
"Master Klaus, I don't think a cover story is necessary for this scenario…" You muttered knowing full well your words would fall into deaf ears again.
"I mean, was I really young when I had you and Rosey? Like, 16? Like, young and… terribly misguided."
"Master Klaus, whatever roleplaying ideas you have is best to be kept behind closed doors for now because this is not the time for your shenanigans." You said firmly this time, but your words were not heeded.
"Your mother! That slut... Whoever she was, We met at the disco." Klaus chuckles, then he proudly looks at you both. "Okay? Remember that."
Five played along with Klaus' antics with a simple nod, though it was clear he wasn’t taking Klaus’ shit seriously. On the other hand, you felt like this was only the beginning of hell for you. Albeit you were more used to being surrounded by tamed people like Luther, Allison, Ben, Vanya and Five. Klaus was a different case… the walking contradiction of a man, who flew higher than the icarus yet he never reached the sun.
Suddenly, an idea popped into the seance’s head followed by him snapping his fingers. "Oh, my god, the sex was amazing."
"What a disturbing glimpse into that thing you call a brain." The boy remarked with a revolted look on his face.
Klaus placed a hand on his chest, his face laced with an offended look. "Don't make me put you in time-out."
Once Klaus was finished with his shenanigans, you three headed to Reginald Hargreeves’ room and raided Reginald's closet - though it was mostly you and Five doing the work. You were the one responsible for looking for a decent outfit whilst Five was in charge of looking for the dress shoes. Klaus was mostly responsible for filling in the silence with his usual “outrageousness”, as Five would kindly put into words.
Out of nowhere, Five's heart raced as his mind began playing tricks on him, blending the boundaries between reality and illusion. In his perception, he observed the chaotic scene before him, the world had transformed into a desolate wasteland, reminiscent of the apocalypse. Amidst the devastation, he witnessed a familiar (H/C) young girl in a Victorian maid outfit, your body convulsing as you reached out desperately, attempting to grasp the sky itself.
Fear and urgency surged through the boy's veins as he rushed to your side. Ignoring the dangers that surrounded them, he knelt down beside your trembling form, his hands trembling as well. Out of desperation, he shook you gently, attempting to snap you out of whatever trance you seemed to be trapped within.
As you slowly turned your gaze towards him, your eyes filled with worry, the Five's heart sank. He could see the pain and confusion reflected in your eyes, mirroring his own inner turmoil. The sight of the steel piercing your abdomen only made his stomach twist.
Worried etched onto your facial features as your voice awakened Five from his hallucination. "Are you alright Five?"
The whole room went silent at your words. That was the first time you called him by his name without an honorific, even the usually head-in-the-clouds Klaus caught onto your slip up and started giggling like a little girl. On the other hand, the boy was shell shocked.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but we have better things to do! Which is me getting my 20 bucks." Klaus interjected but a wide smile engraved itself into his features, it's a common sight to see a smile on his face but, this time it felt like it was alluding to something you didn't like.
"There was no 'moment' I was going to ask Y/N about the villains the academy used to face while I was gone." Five excused but Klaus knew otherwise, the way his 'little' brother reacted just now was similar to how he reacted when he wasn't high: Scared, desperate, and depressed.
"Are you sure? You looked pretty startled." You placed both of your hands onto Five's shoulders, asking for his reassurance.
"You called me by my name without an honorific. Of course I would be startled." He lied whilst he redirected your attention to your slip up.
"I… I did?"
Klaus sat up straight then placed a hand on his chest, "I'm wounded and betrayed by you, Rosey! To think we've been together since childhood, I didn't even leave your side for the last 17 years yet, you called him -" The Seance points to Five. "- without an honorific first! Instead of me! Oh, the world is truly coming to an end."
"I don't think you should be joking about that after what Five told you…" You muttered but the boy beside you pats your shoulder as though to tell you it was alright.
"As I was saying," Five adjusted his clothes then sat on an armchair, acting as though he didn't experience an episode. "While I was gone, did a villain named White V show up? Or something along the lines of that?"
You tilted your head, this name didn't feel familiar whatsoever. "I don't recall a villain named White V… maybe they will show up soon?"
"Same here but I do remember most of the villains being different colors besides white." Klaus mused.
"You know I didn't mean it literally Klaus."
"Just thought it would help!"
Trying to change the subject, Five turned his head to you and then asked, "Did you find something decent for this lunatic brother of mine?"
Once you raised a thumbs up, it was everyone's go signal to get ready then head back to the doctor's office to pester him once again.
ㅤㅤㅤ❲ T H E ☕ S E R V A N T ❳
At the moment, you three were back in the office. Klaus sitting down with a bored look on his face while you sat beside him patiently. Five, on the other hand, is standing impatiently pacing back and forth, whilst the doctor kept up a professional facade right in front of you three despite what occurred earlier.
"Like I said to your son, earlier. Any information about the prosthetics we build is strictly confidential. Without the client's consent, I simply can't help you." The doctor reiterated.
"Well, we can't get the consent if you don't give us a name." Five tries to keep his cool by gritting his teeth to prevent any unsavory words from flowing out.
"Well, that's not my problem." The man in lab coat merely shrugged which irked Five even more to go through with his promise earlier.
"Sorry, Now, there's really nothing more I can do, so-"
From this point on, your attention is taken away because you heard your phone ring. You look down and read who the notification was from and immediately open your phone.
Just as you finished chatting to Vanya, you heard the impact of a fist coming into contact with skin and Five grunting in pain. Without warning, Klaus tried kicking you in the stomach as well, but you narrowly dodged it but, in the process of trying to dodge it, you were sent rolling backwards. Whilst you two were busy groaning in pain, Klaus decided it would be a good idea to hit himself with a snow globe.
The curly haired male groaned then yelled, "God, that hurt!"
Doctor hastily grabs the telephone. "I'm calling security-" But the seance wrestled it out of his hand.
"What are you doing?"
Klaus gasps dramatically. "There's been an assault in Mr. Big's office, and we need security, now. Schnell!" The phone clatters as Klaus slams it carelessly back into place, his gaze now focused onto the doctor.
"Now, here's what's gonna happen, Grant."
"It's… Lance."
"In about 60 seconds, two security guards are gonna burst through that door, and they're gonna see a whole lot of blood, and they're gonna wonder, 'What the hell happened?' and we're gonna tell them that you… beat the shit out of us." Klaus explains as he manipulates his voice and face to look as though he was appalled and scared of what Lance had 'done'.
You were oddly impressed and scared of Klaus acting skills, while Five seemed proud he chose the right person. Either way, it felt like things were going to turn out how Five wanted it to be but, it seemed like this was too easy for your opinion…
"You're gonna do great in prison, Grant. Trust me, I've been there. Little piece of chicken like you. Oh my God, you're gonna be passed around like a…" Klaus rotates his hips. "You're just- You're gonna do great. That's all I'm saying."
"Jesus, you are a real sick bastard." Lance grimaced at the curly haired man who claimed to be you and Five's Father.
"Thank you." He accepts the compliment as he spat out the glass that was in his mouth.
Once the whole mess was somehow covered up, the Doctor began skimming through the files to look for the glass eyeball. In the end, he couldn't find the glass eye including the information of the owner. He concluded the search by stating the glass eye isn't even manufactured yet, then asked how you guys managed to get the eye.
"I knew it was too good to be true…" You thought to yourself, as you all went back to square one… "Where to now? " Is what you'd ask Five but you doubt he knows what his next lead is since the glass eye was all he had.
"Well, this is not good." Five muttered, his disappointment becoming more prominent on his face.
"I was pretty good, though, right? Yeah. What about my consent, bitch?" Klaus chuckled proudly, you would have cheered on Klaus if it weren't for the fact that you knew now was not the time for that. Five would probably wring you and Klaus' necks just because he's in a bad mood.
"Klaus, it doesn't matter." The boy snapped, his hands stuffed into his school boy shorts.
"What? What? What's the big deal with this eye, anyway?"
"Master Klaus, we already told you, there is someone out there who's going to lose an eye in the next seven days." You reiterated as Five added. "They're gonna bring about the end of life on this Earth as we know it."
The boy in school shorts was about to walk away with you in tow to try and find another lead but, your strides to the different direction were put to a stop by Klaus' words.
"Yeah, can I get that 20 bucks, like, now or what?"
"Your 20 bucks? " Five repeated as he slowly turned to Klaus, his rage on the verge of exploding as more words came out of Klaus' mouth.
"KLAUS READ THE ROOM FOR ONE SECOND! " You internally screamed as you hastily went to Klaus' side ready to shield him from getting punched.
"Yeah, my 20 bucks."
"The apocalypse is coming, and all you can think about is getting high?" Five was seething while you were on the verge of slamming your face onto the pavement.
"Well, I'm also quite hungry. Tummy's a-rumblin'." Klaus imitates a stomach growling then smiles at Five but, the boy isn't too pleased about it.
"You're useless."
"You're all useless!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. You knew that he said it in the heat of the moment but, you were all trying your best to help him…
Klaus noticed your change of demeanor then tried to shift the subject. "Oh, come on. You need to lighten up, old man."
Five sits on the stairway in front of the prosthetics building. Trying to silently think of a plan B but, the seance just had to open his mouth. Five swore if he brought a stapler he would staple Klaus' lips closed.
"Hey, you know, I've just now realized why you're so uptight. You must be horny as hell!" He laughed then added, "All those years by yourself. It's gonna screw with your head being alone."
"If you want to let the stress out, why not ask Y/N for help?"
"Y/N seems like she'd be good in bed, if you're the type to have a corruption kink and all. I wouldn't be surprised if you have one because you seem the type-" Klaus snapped his finger, "And, andd~! She wouldn't get arrested for dating you."
You wanted to die on the spot as more words came out of Klaus' mouth. Even though talking about sex should be normalized, you weren't used to the exposure of it. Neither were you taught on how it works besides the basics.
"Well… I wasn't alone." Five admitted, a rare smile on his face becoming more visible as he reminisced about his significant other.
"Oh?" Klaus looks surprised as you, both numbers - you and Klaus - looked at Five in disbelief.
"Pray tell."
"Her name was Delores." Five looked longing into the distance, as he fidgeted with his ring finger. "We were together for over 30 years."
"Thirty years? Oh, wow!" The curly haired man chuckled. "God, the longest I've been with someone was… I don't know, three weeks. And that's only because I was so tired of looking for a place to sleep."
"We need to find Delores… She could be of help in figuring out what caused the apocalypse. But, is she even in this time period? How do we get in contact with her? " You pondered, your head was clouded with questions.
You didn't notice Five spontaneously grabbed your wrist then you guys are suddenly teleported inside a taxi. Surprised by the turn of events, you and the taxi driver gasp in unison.
"Don't stop, just keep going." Five commanded as he rolled down the taxi window and mockingly saluted Klaus.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! What about my money?!" Klaus screamed running after the taxi you guys were in.
Against Five's will, you threw a 10 dollar bill outside the window. "That should be enough for food! Don't waste it on drugs!"
ㅤㅤㅤ❲ T H E ☕ S E R V A N T ❳
You and Five stood right in front of Gimbel brothers whilst it rained. The droplets stain your clothes and make the clothing cling onto your skin. As you were about to pick the lock, Five stopped you midway through, to which you raised a brow at his actions.
"Are we going to use your powers? Shouldn't you be resting with how much you've used them?" You expressed your concern, only for your concern to be thrown out the window by the person who you expressed your concern for.
Five's brows were stitched together. "What do you mean we? I'm the only one going in."
"I… but why?"
"For starters, I already told you yesterday that I'd be the one dealing with the mess but you didn't listen to my orders. You could've been killed!"
You flinched at his words but tried to defend yourself. "You were about to be killed as well, that's why I intervened."
"Stay here. If anything else happens, call the police then go home by yourself, I don't need to lug around your weight." The boy stated as he teleported into the building before you could even interject.
Reluctantly, you wait for him from a nearby building whilst waiting, you witness two people enter the store. You were about to follow them as Five's back up when you heard gunshots but, you recalled Five's orders, and instead chose to rush to the nearest telephone booth to call the police. Once the police arrived, you wait for Five to exit the store and met up with him in the next corner then escorted him back home.
Unbeknownst to you guys, Allison and Luther were busy talking about Grace and Y/N until you guys show up and pass by them. They stop to see that Five looked beaten up whilst you carried the top half of a mannequin. Hopefully, they don't ask where you got it and what you intended to do with it.
"What the hell happened to you guys?" Allison voiced her concern as she went to your side to check if you had any bruises as well.
"Thank god, they aren't asking about the mannequin." You sighed in relief, grateful that they didn't question if you guys committed theft. To be fair, if you would have known Delores was a mannequin you would have just bought her or bought a look alike and dressed it up as her, rather than being chased by the police.
"Are you okay? Can we help?" Luther tries to put a hand on Five's shoulder but the boy caught Spaceboy's wrist midway.
"There's nothing you can do."
"There's nothing any of you can do."
ㅤㅤㅤ❲ T H E ☕ S E R V A N T ❳
As the boy in school shorts began investigating the remnants of the Umbrella Academy, he saw a gloved hand holding onto something round. He ran over to where the hand was poking out and grabbed it. It was a glass eyeball, freshly taken out of someone's eye socket. Five tried to remove some of the rubble to see if the person underneath it was someone he knew, and he was right. It was Luther.
Whilst trying to look for any more clues, Five stumbles upon other familiar faces, one by one he sees his dead siblings: Allison, Diego, and Klaus. Everyone he grew up with was dead, he had lost all hope for mankind. However, amidst the devastation, he witnessed a familiar (H/C) young girl in a Victorian maid outfit, your body convulsing as you reached out desperately, attempting to grasp the sky itself.
As you slowly turned your gaze towards him, your eyes filled with worry, the boy's heart sank. He could see the pain and confusion reflected in your eyes, mirroring his own inner turmoil. The sight of the steel piercing your abdomen only made his stomach twist.
He hurriedly and carefully removes you from the steel that pierced you. When your eyes landed on him, you wore a small smile.
"Five… Huh, I must be dreaming." You said chuckling though, it turned into a coughing fit instead.
"No, this is the real me, I'm not dead." The boy reassured you by touching your cheek, which led you to cry. The warmth of seeing someone in your last moments made you want to be greedy and hold onto life just a little longer but, you knew you didn't have the strength to do so.
"What happened? Who did this to you?" Five wanted answers quickly, he wanted to save his family somehow, knowing who did this might relinquish the pain he feels right now.
"White V…" Those were the last words that trailed off your lips. In the end, the pain he felt was going to last for 46 years in isolation.

It was a nice day in the fall. The sun was shining, the wind wasn't too strong. People were walking around the carnival with smiles on their faces.
An older man smiled as he saw this and proceeded to set up is concession stand.
He was whistling a small tune as he did so, his favorite time of day was when he came to work. He liked to keep himself busy.
The whisting came to a stop when a broom snapped on the side of his stand, then started hearing a scream. He looked in the sky before jumping out of the way and the next thing he knew the body of the cleaners fell into his stand.
He quickly went and told the security guard what had happened though the security guard was skeptical when he said the man was pushed.
Until he saw the body. He pulls out his walkie and starts to yell into it.
"Excuse me, officer but I believe we can of assistance."
"Who the hell are you?"
The man asked as he turned to find the Umbrella Academy; Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus and Ben. This was their second mission and they felt more than ready to take on the task at hand.
"It's your Eiffel Tower, it's gone insane and must be stopped at all cost."
The man looked at the kids like they were crazy, he had no time for children and their made up games.
"Allow me to introduce my subordinate, Number Three."
Luther holds his hand out and gestures to Allison with it.
Allison turns to face the crowd of people that happened to be surrounding the Eiffel Tower.
"Citizens of Paris... I heard a rumor that the musee d'orsay is giving away many of its finest paintings. They're also serving Crepes."
The crowd of people ran past the children in the direction of the art museum. Luther praises Allison and now that the area was safely cleared out, the kids activated their belts that gave them the ability to fly. Reginald thought this would be the perfect time for the kids to test his new invention before he sold it off.
"Spread out and attack!"
The kids nearly dodged a beam that came from the tower. Above them was a helicopter with the umbrella symbol on it. There, Reginald Hargreeves and Vanya sat watching the action.
"Dad?"
Reginald makes no move to acknowledge her.
"Why can't I play with the others?"
He didn't respond but she knew what he would say if he did. She frowned as she watched her siblings fly over the tower.
"Where's Number Five? I don't see him down there."
Five had been gone for days now. Ben, Klaus and Vanya had gone out to find him but he had vanished without a trace.
Today was not that day.
Vanya began leaving out his favorite sandwiches hoping that one day he'd come back.
"The future I presume..I can't be sure nor can I be bothered."
There was not an ounce of emotion on his face. Sometimes Vanya thought he was more machine than human.
"Why don't you go and play your violin?"
They had been there for a while. Arrived at 8:15 am, Almost shot out of the sky around 8:52 am and now at 9:04 am, Ben was using his testicles to try to tear down the Eiffel Tower but currently he was distracted trying to keep Klaus from falling into the gears below them.
"Any bright ideas now, fearless leader?"
Diego glares at Luther.
"You're slipping Klaus!"
"Don't let go! I'm trying to contact a dead engineer from the spirit world. He can tell us how to stop it!"
"Save your breath we're all gonna die!"
Diego yelled at the two annoying Luther.
"Why don't you shut up!"
He flew up and wounded his fist back and punched the tower with enough force to snap it in half. The others quickly flew a little bit away as the tower came crashing down.
"Show off!"
Diego pouts earning an eye roll in return. Luther punched through the control tower giving them a way in. Inside they find the person they were looking for.
"Just as I suspected— Zombie Robot Gustaye Eiffel!"
"Maudit Enfants!"
Ben stares at the man in shock.
"Alive after all these years!"
"Not for long!"
Diego quickly pulls out a knife and throws it before Luther can tell him not to. The knife collides into Eiffel's head forcing him off of his feet. His body lands on the different levers behind him.
Sparks start to shoot out of his head.
"Initier la séquence de lancement!!"
"EVERYONE OUT! NOW!"
The kids jump out of the building trying to get away from it.
"What's happening?!"
Klaus yells and Luther answers.
"I think it's taking off."
"But why?"
Allison looks to him for answers once they finally get to safety. The kids turn to look at the Eiffel Tower, it starts to lift off the ground and towards the sky.
"That's because it's not a monument, children. It's a spaceship."
The kids turned to look at their dad who was now standing behind them.
"While you have lost the Eiffel Tower, you did save Paris and you know what that means?"
"The Key to the city." The governor states.
"Free ice cream for everyone, one scoop each." The ice cream parlor said.
The kids cheered each one running towards the ice cream stand well everyone besides Luther.
"What's wrong, Number One?"
"When I grow up...I want to go into space."
"And so you shall, Number One..."
He places a hand on Luther's shoulder.
"So you shall..."
💪🏻🗣️💪🏻🗣️💪🏻🗣️💪🏻🗣️💪🏻🗣️💪🏻🗣️💪🏻🗣️
Luther wakes up to his alarm he turns it off gets dressed and knocks his head into the light bulb hanging from the ceiling. He walks past Allison's room to look past the hall before turning back to knock on her door.
"Hi."
"Hey."
Allison continues packing her clothes away. Luther is silent for a moment, he wants to talk to her but he's afraid that she's still upset with him. She's the only one he really cares about wanting to appease.
"You know it's funny. I've had the same routine for the last four years. Now that I'm back down here, I'm not quite sure what to do with myself."
"I know the feeling."
Allison chuckled slightly but her eyes still weren't meeting his.
"Well, you must be eager to see Claire, huh?"
"I didn't think it was possible to miss a person this much. But I've got some things I need to do before I can see her."
Luther walks up to Allison believing it was okay because she didn't turn him away.
"You know someday, I'd really..."
She pauses her sentence as she looks up to meet his eyes for the first time today.
"Love for you to meet her."
"Me?"
"Yeah, you."
Allison chuckled again.
"Why not?"
"Well, does Claire even know about me?"
Luther asks timidly.
Allison eyebrows furrowed at his question.
"What are you talking about? Of course she knows about you."
"I know, it's just that, when you left, it felt like..."
Luther shrugs.
"All you wanted to do was forget this place ever existed, so..."
Allison crosses her arms and nods.
"This place, yes. But not you."
The two stood there in silence just staring at the other before Allison broke contact.
"When Claire was little, I used to read her books about the moon. I'd tell her her; her uncle was living up there."
Allison smiles as she looks back up at him.
"That he was... Protecting us from harm."
The two laugh together and Luther's eyes brighten.
"Really?"
"I mean, you were...her own personal superhero."
Luther nods with a smile feeling happy about the thought of Allison talking about him with her child. It made him feel good.
"You know, after all this time, I know she would love to meet you."
Luther paused for a second just staring at her not knowing what to say. So he settled on....
"Uh, Dad's monocle is still missing, so I can't just forget about that."
Allison let out a sigh at him mentioning Reginald again.
"Dad died because his heart gave out, Luther. Don't turn his death into a mission."
Luther frowned at her words not understanding why his siblings weren't on his side.
"Is that what you think this is?"
Allison searched her mind for the right words before placing her hand on his shoulder.
"I think there's a reason why you never left."
Allison searched his eyes for a moment before leaving the room.

Klaus lies on the couch with a twisted look of terror written all over his face. He starts to mumble something in his sleep as he shivered before waking up abruptly, he shivered in fear as his brother watched him from a few feet away.
"You know you talk in your sleep?"
Ben's eyes follow Klaus as he slides to the floor and starts to look around.
"There's no point."
Ben said softly.
"You're out of drugs."
"Shut your pie hole Ben."
After realizing he snapped he looked at Ben.
"Said with love."
He blows a kiss towards his brother.
"I got a crazy idea. Why not try starting your day with a glass of orange juice or some eggs?"
"I can't smoke eggs."
Klaus lights up a cigarette before walking around to look for something to sell. Ben sighs as he stares at a wall feeling concerned for his brother.
Pogo cleared his throat as he entered the room, Ben smiled at the sight of him while Klaus jumped in fright.
"My apologies, Master Klaus. I have a query for you."
"Oh?"
His eyes brows raised in question before the chimp began to speak again.
"Some items from your father's office have gone missing. In particular, an ornate box with pearl inlay"
Ben turned to look at his brother with disappointment in his eyes.
"Really."
"Really? You don't say."
"Any idea where it went?"
Klaus figured that Pogo wouldn't be asking if he didn't already know but did he want to be honest about it?.....nope.
"No, no, no. No idea. Sorry."
"Liar."
"Dropdead."
"Low blow."
"Would you shut up?"
The last sentence caused Pogo to get offended though he didn't show it as he thought the comment was directed towards him.
"Excuse me?"
Klaus instantly spoke up trying to correct himself and attempt to deflect more from the stolen items.
"The contents of that box are....priceless. Were they to find their way back to the office. Whoever took it would be absolved of any blame or consequences."
"Oh, well, lucky bastard."
"Indeed."
Pogo said in a firm voice, he stared at Klaus for a few more minutes making him feel an inch of guilt in the pit of his stomach.
⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳
Five gripped onto the eyeball in his hand as he stood in the lobby of the lab. His gaze hardens as he looks around waiting for someone to address him.
A man walks out dressed in a lab coat. His brows furrowed at the sight of Five standing there.
"Uh, can I help you?"
Five turns around at the sound of the voice behind him. He took a second to look down at the eyeball before showing it to the man.
"I need to know who this belongs to."
"Where did you get that?"
"Why do you care?"
Five instantly got defensive and glared at the man, the scientist took a moment to study Five trying to figure out the best way to have him give up the information.
After realizing he probably had to say something Five answered.
"I...I found it... At a playground, actually."
He hoped the lie was believable enough for the man to tell him who it belonged to. Though the man in front of him seemed suspicious of that statement.
"Uh, must have just...popped out."
He finished the sentence with a smile hoping to look inviting like you usually did.
"I want to return it to its rightful owner."
The lady at the desk smiled at the gesture and made a comment. Five however was done with the small talk and wanted the information he came for.
"Yeah. Look up the name for me, will ya?"
The smile on the lady's face fell and the man in front of him spoke again.
"Uh, I'm sorry, but patient records are strictly confidential. That means I can't tell you—"
"Yeah, I know what it means."
Five started to feel a little frustrated at this point. The man caught on to the shift in attitude.
"Right well, I'll tell you what I can do. I will take the eye off your hands and return it to the owner. I'm sure he or she will be very grateful, so if I can just—"
"Yeah, you're not touching this eye."
The forced smile slipped off of Five's face the moment the man tried to reach for the eye. The man frowned and started to scold him as if he were a child.
"Now, you listen here, young man—"
Five glared at the man, he grabbed his coat and pulled him close in just seconds. He looked deep into his eyes, making sure the man was looking at his piercing eyes.
"No! You listen to me, asshole. I've come a long way for this, through some shit your pea brain couldn't even comprehend, so just give me the information I need, and I'll be on my merry way. And if you call me 'young man' one more time, I'm gonna put your head through that damn wall."
The lady got worried as she saw the twenty year old man get aggressive with the older one.
"Oh dear."
"Call security."
The lady instantly picks up the phone and starts dialing causing Five's glare on the man to harden. Five let's go of the man but not without giving him a harsh shove.
God he wished you were there.

new headmaster
open starter: luther hargreeves
open to tua muses/ocs or modern crossovers
It had been a few years since Luther had parted ways with his siblings at Oblivion. And well the parting lasted about as long as the temporary loss of their powers. Only a few days later had the former Number One reverted back to himself (unfortunately with the modifications his father had once given him) and they were all back together again.
It had been tricky at first, fresh start new universe. But with no impending apocalypse, it had given Luther a lot of time to think. And well, sure he'd never had a happy childhood or a good role model when it came to father figures... But that didn't stop him. He wanted to provide a good home for kids who needed it - a stepping stone to set them up for a good life. Okay it was chaos a lot of the time, but Luther enjoyed it - it gave him purpose again. A way to do some good for others (and well sometimes he roped his siblings in to help).
So of course these days he was usually in a good mood. Today in particular, he took advantage of being up before the kids and shoved on his Walkman. Music was blasting through his headphones he didn't even hear someone approaching. Not until he had a tap on his shoulder causing him to turn around abruptly.

Luther had sat beside her for several hours, overnight in fact, before leaving to locate food. It was just like her to wake up during his mere twenty minutes away. Granted, it may have been for the best not to see his face first when she woke; they hadn't seen each other in months. Well, they hadn't if she was actually Charlie.
His heart pounded in his chest. She definitely looked like Charlie. He couldn't even remember what name she'd been using, just that he'd seen her picture in a newspaper. Jack tracked her down for him.
Oh, god. What if this was her birth mother or something? But he'd already stepped through the door into the hospital room, so Luther couldn't just leave now. No, it had to be her. It had to be.
The various snacks he'd just gathered slid from his hands onto the tray beside her: licorice, fruits, chips, little sandwiches.
"—okay. Don't freak out." To her? To himself?
OPEN STARTER // HOSPITAL // CHARLIE HARGREEVES
The events were a jumbled mess within the Adaptor's mind. Charlie didn't really remember much apart from the sound of gunshots and someone calling for her. Then everything had gone black.
The first thing she hears is the bleeping of the hospital equipment as she awakens. Groggily she tries to wake up, pushing herself up to no success. Sharp pain forces her back down. Pulling the covers up, she spots the familiarity of a hospital gown and feels bandaging on her abdomen. "Shit.." she manages to speak. Letting the covers drop again.
How long had she been out? What had happened? Well maybe the other now entering through the door would have some answers for her.

"i thought i was doing the right thing." (from @muse-gathering [Luther] for Charlie)
@muse-gathering
"Well I didn't ask you to!" Charlie snapped, a wave of frustration emanating from her. Deep down she knew his heart was in the right place. It always had been, ever since they were kids. Luther had always been the same. And it wasn't like deep down she didn't appreciate him trying to look out for her...
"This is my mess Luther, my mess okay? I didn't need you to stick your nose in trying to fix it!"

my words were: playful, energy/energized, exhausted, delight/delightful, sorrow
playful: from waiting for the sun to go down [eric northman/reader]
""You sure you just don't want to get a room here?" Sookie asked, obviously reluctant to leave you alone. "You can just make Eric pay for it," she pointed out with a playful grin.
"I could," you mused, pretending to think it over. "But I have a perfectly nice apartment here. You sure you don't want to just stay with me? It's a great place and I'd love to have you stay over.""
---
energy/energized: somebody to love [diego hargreeves/reader]
""By the time Vanya had struck out with her power, you were already pushing Allison down to the floor with your ability. You didn't get the chance to see if Vanya did any damage, because the wave of energy had you flying back through the window behind you. The window shattered and you landed hard on the wrap-around porch, gasping as the breath was knocked out of you. You were sure there was a shard of glass sticking into the back of your leg, but other than that, you couldn't feel any other pain. You looked down to see a bright splash of red on the front of your shirt and when you lifted the hem, it was to see a deep cut across your abdomen. "Shit," you breathed, your hand shaking. So, you were hurt, but you just couldn't feel it yet. Was that a bad thing? You had a feeling that it was. You were probably in shock. But if Vanya had done this to you, then what did she do to Allison? What if you didn't push her down in time? You groaned and tried to push yourself up, but suddenly there was a boot pressing into your chest and holding you down.""
---
exhausted: from reach out and touch faith [steve harrington/reader]
"Then please know I can't tell you about this. Not yet," he rushed to add when your face fell in dismay. "It's not just my story to tell and I feel like it'll seem more believable if I have a few other people back me up on this. Let's just try to get some sleep and then I'll make some calls in the morning. I swear I’ll get you some answers, then."
"It is morning," you pointed out, feeling exhausted and defeated. Steve thought you weren't going crazy, but then what the hell was happening? Was Billy haunting you? Were you sleepwalking from the guilt? Maybe your house just had faulty wiring or the foundation settling sounded a lot like someone knocking on your door?
---
delight/delightful: from all i want for christmas is you [kate bishop/reader]
"Y/N is my...person? Person," she decided on with a confident nod of her head. "Significant other?" She tried, grimacing at the sound of the title. "We haven't actually been...on a date...yet," she rushed to assure you, squeezing your hand. "But we're definitely something."
"Definitely something," you agreed with an amused grin before you leaned over and pressed a kiss to Kate's cheek. You couldn't help the little thrill of delight you felt when her cheeks reddened in a blush and a pleased grin tugged at her lips.
"Right. Well, this is Kate's 'Definitely Something,'" Clint said, glancing at his wife.
---
sorrow: from i'm only happy when it rains [diego hargreeves/reader]
You thought you understood, though. Luther was feeling the same thing you were in that moment.
It was a combination of anguish, despair, grief, and sorrow.
Luther was suffering from a broken heart.

Muse songs that remind me of TUA characters - part one
Luther - Bliss
Everything about you is how I'd wanna be
Your freedom comes naturally
Everything about you resonates happiness
Now I won't settle for less
Give me all the peace and joy in your mind
Diego - Supermassive Black Hole
Oh baby, don't you know I suffer?
Oh baby, can you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretenses
....
I thought I was a fool for no one
Oh baby, I'm a fool for you
Allison - Ghosts (How Can I Move On)
If I could bring you back
There are truths and confessions I'd tell you
I'd set things straight
And I believe that you would love and forgive me
I know it's too late
I need to let go
Klaus - Panic Station
Do what the fuck you want to
There's no one to appease
Oooh 1, 2, 3, 4 fire's in your eyes
And this chaos, it defies imagination
Ooo 5, 6, 7, minus 9 lives
Five - Kill Or Be Killed
Fate, is driving me insane
It's forcing me to face
I must kill or be killed
Ben - Feeling Good
Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Yeah, freedom is mine!
And you know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
Viktor - Pressure
Don't push me
Let me get off the ground
To you I'm no longer bound
Don't stop me, don't choke me
I need you out of my head
You got me close to the edge
I'm feeling the pressure
I can't break out
No one can hear me scream and shout
Get out of my face, out of my mind
Reginald Hargreeves - Compliance
Fall into line, you will do as you're told
No choice fatigue, your blood is running cold
We lose control, the world will fall apart
....
We just need your compliance
#tua#the umbrella academy#muse#some of these may not necessarily make sense lol its purely based on my own opinions#im gonna do a part two with other characters at some point#finch talks

A Hargreeves Wedding Anniversary
Five Hargreeves x Fem!reader
Warnings: none
The Hargreeves home was abuzz with excitement as preparations for Five and Y/n Hargreeves’ wedding anniversary celebration were underway. The dining room was filled with the warm glow of candles and fairy lights, and the table was set with a feast worthy of the occasion.
Five’s siblings bustled about, adding their unique touches to the festivities. Klaus had strung up a mishmash of decorations, ranging from elegant garlands to a slightly tattered “Happy Anniversary” banner he’d found in a thrift shop. Luther was in charge of the grill outside, cooking up a storm. Diego set up a makeshift dance floor in the living room, while Allison curated a playlist of romantic songs. Viktor was tuning his violin, ready to provide a musical backdrop, and Ben and Sloane were handling drinks and dessert.
Five and Y/n were in their bedroom, getting ready for the evening. Y/n adjusted her dress in the mirror, a soft, flowing number that made her look radiant.
“You look stunning,” Five said, coming up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist.
“And you look incredibly handsome,” Y/n replied, turning in his embrace. Five was dressed in a sharp suit, a sight that made Y/n’s heart flutter.
“Can you believe it’s been eight years?” Five mused, resting his forehead against hers.
“Feels like yesterday we were saying ‘I do,’” Y/n said, smiling. “But then again, it also feels like a lifetime with everything we’ve been through.”
“A wonderful lifetime,” Five agreed, leaning in for a kiss.
The party kicked off with everyone gathered in the living room. Maddie, their six-year-old daughter, was bouncing around with excitement, while Milo, their two-year-old son, toddled about, chasing after a balloon.
“Happy anniversary!” Klaus exclaimed, rushing forward to hug Five and Y/n. “I’ve been counting down the days for this!”
“Thanks, Klaus,” Five said, patting him on the back. “The place looks… festive.”
“You mean chaotic,” Diego said, grinning as he handed Five a drink. “But that’s how we do things, right?”
“Wouldn’t have it any other way,” Five said, clinking his glass against Diego’s.
“Let’s get this party started!” Luther called out from the grill. “Dinner’s ready!”
Everyone gathered around the dining table, plates piled high with grilled meats, salads, and various side dishes. The room buzzed with chatter and laughter.
“To Five and Y/n!” Luther said, raising his glass. “May your love continue to grow and inspire us all.”
“Here, here!” everyone echoed, toasting to the couple.
Maddie was seated between Five and Y/n, her eyes wide with delight as she dug into her plate. Milo was in a high chair next to Five, gleefully munching on a piece of bread.
“This is perfect,” Y/n whispered to Five, squeezing his hand under the table.
“Absolutely,” Five agreed, his eyes soft with affection.
After dinner, Viktor began playing his violin, filling the room with soft, romantic music. Maddie twirled around the room in her pretty dress, her giggles adding to the joyful ambiance.
“I have a surprise for you,” Y/n said to Five, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Oh? What is it?” Five asked, intrigued.
“You’ll see,” Y/n said, standing up and heading to the small stage area Diego had set up. She took the microphone, and the room fell silent, all eyes on her.
“I wanted to do something special for you tonight,” Y/n said, looking at Five with a tender smile. “This song is for you.”
She began to sing “Love me tender” by Elvis Presley, a song that had become their unofficial anthem over the years. Her voice was clear and melodic, filling the room with emotion. As she sang, Five’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, his heart swelling with love and gratitude.
By the time Y/n finished, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Five stood up, walking over to her and pulling her into a tight embrace.
“That was beautiful,” Five said, his voice thick with emotion. “You always know how to make me cry.”
“Happy tears, I hope,” Y/n teased, wiping away a tear from his cheek.
“The happiest,” Five confirmed, kissing her deeply as the room erupted in applause and cheers.
The rest of the evening was a blur of laughter and dancing. Diego and Klaus engaged in a ridiculous dance-off, much to everyone’s amusement. Allison and Luther led a conga line that wound through the entire house, with Viktor and Ben reluctantly joining in. Sloane and Lila teamed up to keep the drinks flowing, ensuring no glass was empty for long.
Maddie, now with a crown on her head from Klaus’s stash of props, dragged Five and Y/n to the dance floor.
“Come on, Daddy! You too, Mommy!” Maddie insisted, twirling around them.
“How can we say no to that?” Y/n said, smiling as she took Five’s hand.
“We can’t,” Five agreed, spinning Y/n around as they danced with their daughter.
As the night drew to a close, Five’s siblings gathered around for one last toast.
“To the best couple we know,” Klaus said, raising his glass. “May your love be as timeless as your dance moves are questionable.”
“Cheers!” everyone shouted, laughing and clinking their glasses.
“Thanks, everyone,” Five said, his arm around Y/n. “You’ve made this anniversary unforgettable.”
“You make every day unforgettable,” Y/n said, leaning into him.
With the party winding down, the guests started to leave. Five and Y/n stood at the door, saying their goodbyes.
“See you all tomorrow,” Five said, waving as the last of his siblings departed.
“We should do this more often,” Klaus called back. “Love you guys!”
“Love you too!” Y/n and Five shouted in unison.
With the kids tucked in bed, Five and Y/n finally had a moment to themselves. They sat on the couch, the room now quiet except for the soft hum of the music playing in the background.
“Happy anniversary, love,” Y/n said, resting her head on Five’s shoulder.
“Happy anniversary,” Five replied, kissing the top of her head. “Here’s to many more.”
They sat in comfortable silence, basking in the afterglow of a perfect evening.
“I think Maddie’s out like a light,” Five said, glancing at the baby monitor.
“Milo too,” Y/n added, snuggling closer to Five.
“I have another surprise for you in our bedroom,” Five smirked, standing up and extending his hand to Y/n.
“Lead the way,” Y/n smiled, taking his hand. They walked hand in hand to their bedroom, ready to enjoy a night full of passion and love.
