( ngl I'm very shocked my overcomplication of some of this stuff hasn't turned more people off-- with this many players and good ideas coming in left and right, I'm trying my hardest to make sure everything gets touched on, like Legato shooting Greenie being next in line on my list once the doublemint twins figure their shit out, because it would be an absolute shame to leave out the pieces the Rescue Team has provided.

Thank you for saying this, Spectatornon. And as an aside: I can't recommend going into an event without other people in the think tank if anyone is now thinking of their own timed events! It's a lot easier with others to bounce ideas off of and I'm so, so grateful to everyone who decided they wanted in, to the point where they made a counter event. This was just supposed to be a dumb little idea and it blew up in the best way. It's been fantastic and so much bigger than I could've foreseen or even hoped for.

I'm also grateful to everyone for helping me with a more behind the scene issue that ended up reaching more people than it should have, with this event as the catalyst for my own realization. Everyone had my back and it made things a lot easier.

Okay like...I'm not a huge Hermes fan because of what happens later with him but..I can tell you are very excited about him and your stuff involving him and you're afraid no one will like or ask about it. I like to encourage people to chase what they love and inspires them so...

Onto your actual ask, which is just a chance for me to blab about Hermes for a bit, which I know will end up way too long, so I’ll put it under a cut.

So, I want to start by saying that you are absolutely right Inxli-mun in that it’s been difficult for me to talk about Hermes, for multiple reasons, but a big one is that so many in the fandom seem to hate him. I mean he is the one that is easy to point to and say that he caused the final days in the first place and that he’s to blame for literally everything that happened afterwards. So I get it, I really do. But it also means that it makes me really anxious about even talking about him, let alone gpose or write about him. So hopefully this will help me in doing so in the future.

Here’s the thing. From the beginning, I was in the “love to hate him” camp about Fandaniel. I was intrigued with his character and wanted to know more, but I wasn’t exactly excited about his total nihilism, especially in the Pre-EW patches when we first got a taste of him. He got a bit more interesting after the Amon reveal right before Tower of Zot. As a fan of Allag stuff, I liked the reveal and all, but I still didn’t know at all what to expect next. When we got to Fandaniel’s death when he became the heart of Zodiark, I felt like he was an interesting villain, but not my favorite in FFXIV, and I thought that was that. I didn’t think we’d get anything more about Fandaniel, let alone his Unsundered self.

Then came Elpis, and the more I heard and saw, the more I realized that I was going to fall in love with this character, or should I say the Unsundered Fandaniel anyway. The reveal that his name was Hermes got me so damn giddy already because I have always loved Hermes from Greek Mythology. Then when Hermes first spoke in Elpis, I recognized Jeremy Ang Jones’ voice, as he was clearly Amon/Fandaniel, but he spoke so softly and it just hit me with the feels instantly. I have no idea why, but I find a great voice to be a huge turn on, and Hermes just did it for me. His beautiful green eyes also greatly help in the sexiness department for me.

Seriously though, the more I learned of Hermes, the more I felt for him. His caring nature and compassion for all of the creations, his devotion and fatherly love for Meteion, and his kindness towards the WoL just made me love him so deeply. And he was so unique amongst the Ancients, with his love for all creatures, not just his fellow people, and not to mention that I saw a lot of myself in him with his depression, as I myself have chronic depression and anxiety. It all spoke to me, and way after I had finished 6.0, I still couldn’t shake him from my mind. Though I had no intention on shipping with him for the longest time, since it took me nearly 2 years to do so, he had stolen my heart, just as Aymeric, G’raha, Cid, etc. had done before.

So I don’t want this to turn into a full blown essay on him, even though I have already written so much already, but I wanted to talk a bit about why I love him, and that my love is very much for Hermes, and not as much for Fandaniel as the sundered ascian. I very much see Hermes, Amon, and Ascian Fandaniel as all separate characters, even though they all share the same soul whose trauma can be first attributed to the suffering that Hermes experienced.

Though I am still figuring out not only a canon timeline, especially with the newest short story coming in and wrecking a few things that I had planned, but I also have a few headcanons for the Modern AU with Urania x Hermes, and I also I do want to do a Happy Ending AU for Hermes, but I am not entirely certain if I could pull that last one off. So for now, I’ll give you a handful of headcanons for the Modern AU.

Hermes is a single father who adopted Meteion when she was a few months old, and she is obviously not a familiar in this modern setting but a little girl who wants her papa to find love. He is in graduate school working towards his master’s and eventually his PhD in Astronomy, but he still doesn’t earn enough to support himself and his daughter, so he is a barista at the local coffee shop. It is at the coffee shop where he meets Urania, who is a regular customer. They then bump into each other at the university and realize that they are in the same Astronomy graduate program. Some other hobbies that Hermes has is bird watching and cooking, along with spending his free time with Meteion as much as he can. I’m still figuring out how I want the romance to develop, but I’m very excited about this AU because it can just be a sweet love story and no big bad stuff happening like the Final Days.

THIS IS ALL MY OPINION AND IM BLABBING AND IT IS YAP TIME

it’s 1am so i’m a lil coocoo

once again all MY OPINION if anyone sees this

honestly speaking this season was alright. it def did not compare to season one, which i was expecting. yet it wasn’t up to par with it either. it felt like too much and not enough at the same time so it kinda fell flat to me

in season one everything was connected and there were very clear motives. from the bullying, so mun’s parents, the evil spirits, ji chung shin himself, and the corrupt government. and chung shin’s backstory made me feel for him which is what made him a great antagonist imo. like i loved him

but hwang pil gwang (slick back), gelly (hongjoong variant LMFAOO), and wong (just wong tbh)….mmph

i can’t really remember the beginning it took me 2 months to finish it but, dude and his crew showed up outta nowhere and just started creating chaos for funsies???? now don’t get me wrong, i’m all for villainy for fun but i just couldn’t get into for some reason with them. it just feels like their characters weren’t fleshed out enough for me to actually like them no matter how fine they are bc the whole crew could get it

and then we move to ma ju seok my adoring and loving husband. now this was something i could get behind. him going on a rampage trying to get revenge for his wife and baby, having enough rage to summon an evil spirit on his own??? like that’s what i’m talking about!!! i felt for him and wanted him to succeed bc that con man was also annoying as shit. i really and truly wanted him dead bc he was the absolute worst jfc

if the story only focused on him, and getting his revenge and having to take him down. and only him. seeing how far his rage could take him and what would happen ON HIS OWN without any outside manipulation pil hwang *coughs* would have been a lil more interesting to me and i think i would have enjoyed it more. ik pil gwang wanted his power n shit BUT WHY. like give me a reason.

TO ME hwang pil gwang and his crew added absolutely nothing to this for me. and gelly betraying slick back and all that other stuff just felt unnecessary to me. gelly not being able to do anything and literally almost every single time the crew showed up, and bc pil gwang wouldn’t help her. GIRLY STAND UP AND HAVE SOME RESPECT YOU ARE A BADASS TF YOU DOIN???? GET OFF YA KNEES

AND ms chu’s newest child lim jae yeol….why was he there??? and be honest. what did he do for the plot other than give ms chu another child and show her backstory

and don’t get me started on jeok beong. i was um, expecting a lil bit more. yoo in soo is a FANTASTIC actor. if you told me he was gwi nam from aouad before hand i would have passed out. THAT MF RANGE IS INSANE!! but, but, jeok bong could have been more. i love him to death but he stayed the same person the entire time. granted towards the end he did start meshing with the group a bit better and throwing ideas out and stuff but i dunno bruh. i was feeling him and not feeling him at the same time.

the same goes for kang ki young. baby if you say that was myung seok from attorney woo i would have passed out pt2. like he did his thang bc i deadass hated his character even tho he was looking good as hell

the lack of so mun’s friends also bummed me out bc i really like them and they are an important part of his life. wanted to see more of those three together as well. my found family was not found with them this season

but the counters dynamic was still a++ like that’s real family. teasing ha na and do hwi, ha na having to save so mun while he was in a coma, then going to yung to ask why so mun leaving, jeok bong calling mun his brother just *wipes tear* magnificent

and why tf did mun have to lose his powers again. we did that shit in season one there was no need for that tbh

this is just a vent in relation to d.isability pride month & uh. on talk of d.isability pride month (& also p.lural acceptance week & p.lural pride day which was yesterday), nobody can just have a disability either. like i'll& almost Never catch any muns writing their characters as an amputee or someone in a wheelchair or uses mobility aids its always something obscure thats totally nonvisible & ppl never talk about their characters' disability unless its for angst. which. as a disabled & neurodivergent person myself& its uh. its not cool. THEN ppl have the audacity to blab 24/7 like "all bodies are beautiful" but fuck me& if i've ever Actually seen anyone shipping or smutting w/ a plus size character or a character who's scars & bodily traumas aren't just romanticized s/h cuts or tiny ass white faded stretch marks on a teeny tiny waist or a character who's physically disabled & if on the rare occasion that they do it's nowhere near the amount of shipping & smutting that abled neurotypical muses get. like for a few examples, one of my munchkins, yang from g.angsta, he's chinese & at first he's able bodied but due to events that i won't spoil but yall know what im talking about, he becomes an ambulatory wheelchair user due to his wounds. c.lementine is afroindigenous blasian & a full on amputee & hoh & has numerous other disabilities & neurodivergencies in every single verse she's in. h.elaena is white seeming, plus size & autistic. r.haenyra is white seeming & plus size & has bpd & has stretch marks from her numerous pregnancies. w.orick is white, arospec, half blind & a sex worker. n.icolas is deaf mixed thai-chinese & white & has aspd. masaru/m.inimi is mixed east asian, predominantly japanese, & he's half blind & has chronic pain due to his facial burn scar. m.arie/m.averick is indigenous, specifically oji-cree metis & schizophrenic & also an amputee who can still beat sb's ass. all of my jinchuriki munchkins are inherently p.lural. literally every single twilight in gangsta is disabled in some way shape or form & its ableist & sanist to remove that & take that away from them. basically g-d forbid if ur character is disabled, plus size, trans/nonbinary or a poc.

WELL I am so glad you asked, Anon! :] Thank you for your question!

For me personally, #ThornsofTheAbyss Luocha is most definitely an Emanator of the Abundance. His visage is far too uncanny of an resemblance to Yaoshi and his powers mimic theirs way too much for me to think otherwise. That, and when you get the achievement "Coffin Dancer," you can see he is looking out at the Ambrosial Arbor, talking to it. (Putting the rest under a read more cause I blabbed too much :()

I also love the hc that the Rating Pistol in Herta's station cannot rate Emanators, which is why some characters get an error; including Luocha. If Hoyo decides he is not an Emanator, then I simply will not perceive™ because he's my barbie now smh /lh

Despite being an Emanator of Abundance, however, Luocha does not worship Yaoshi. My version of him holds too much contempt for the divine to ever do anything like that, as explained in this hc post. Luckily for him, you do not have to place your faith in an Aeon in order to become an Emanator, as Aha shows with their methods of choosing. I believe Yaoshi and Luocha have a transactional relationship, as blasphemous a thought as that is. They are using each other. On a later date, I'll explain what exactly that transaction is for my muse of him!

So- yes. On the outside, it is sort of a "forbidden" relationship, however, both Willow's Jing Yuan and my Luocha don't really place their faith in their respective Aeons. They really care not for the gazes they've drawn nor their opinions, which is why they are.. well, fucking around and finding out. Both of them are wise enough to know that the Aeons are far too lofty to really care about who either is, well, having a right dalliance with.

As for #PrayerofTheAbyssFlower Luocha... honestly, I don't know! I'll probably play it out by ear as I get more into playing him, but he is genuinely just a harmless guy, despite having the same mannerisms and bad habits as Thorns Luocha. He's just... quirky like that. I'll probably lean more towards yes on being an Emanator too for him, because you can also just be a guy™ but also drawn the gaze of an Aeon. It all depends on whichever situation I find more humorous :D

hey hi hellooooooo. on my lunch but wanted to pop in to say tha we should plot things...for any of my muses...i have so many......and i'm also rebooting my multi!!! i always blab about missing in depth plotting and i do!!! i miss having mun connections because i don't really have many folks i talk about my muses with, and i think that's a lot of why i struggle with writing lately. i have nothing to base it on, no one talking about the plots with me, and therefore i'm pulling it all out of my ass and my creativity apparently doesn't work unless i'm able to talk about it too.

so anyway this is just me saying i have so many muses, so many ocs, will make more ocs to write with you...but i miss that connection i used to have with folks. obvs the rpc has changed tremendously in the last decade, people have been burnt and aren't as open and welcoming as they used to be. i don't see as much silly back and forth and crackposting as i used to, and i think in the new year we just all need to be a little more open to that wholesome vibe again. maybe it's just my dash, but i don't follow many people anyway.
