i have this headcanon that’s been bouncing around my head of angel feeling like he doesn’t belong anywhere, regardless of how lusted after && seemingly desired he is. he isn’t clean enough for the hotel, but he’s getting too sober for the clubs. being valentino’s number one pet makes the other dancers && porn stars either hate him because they want to be him, or because they find his closeness to val revolting.

it’s not easy for him to make friends. it never has been. he’s either too loud, or too crass, or too high, or too sober. or he’s not showing enough of his true self, or he’s showing too much. he feels like his scars of past mistakes mark him in ways that everyone can see but him, even when he can feel them lighting up like heat from embarrassment. the eyes that land on him are hungry or judgmental, or both.

maybe that’s part of why he doesn’t really believe in redemption — at least for himself. he doubts that he would fit in up there, either.
