Watched the third Adventures of Moominpappa episode today. The implications of Fuddler (Who has the same VA as Sniff and a similar personality) marrying Muddle, (A character we have never seen before who looks just like Sniff) are staggering. From Flood in Moominland I took Sniff as an unconnected orphan that the Moomin family just kind of adopted when Moomin was little.

What happened to you, Sniff? Was there some terrible tragedy? Or were you just not wanted? At least The Moomins love him.

Todays Word Of The Day is: Obfuscate

The word 'obfuscate' originates from the Latin word 'obfuscare'. It means 'to darken' or 'obscure'. This word combines 'ob-' (toward) and 'fuscus' (dark). Originally referring to darkening. Now it means to deliberately make something unclear and confusing.

My friends in Muddle asked me to take pictures of their set. I did it on the condition that I could take selfies with them during the nastiest breakdown they’ve ever played. Here’s the result of that beautiful chaos

The clowns (veyece, muddle) and the seadweller (opocht) belong to me. I don't really associate with canon too much anymore, but find it kinda funny I accidentally ended up pairing a candy-red mutant with a purple blood and theres a height difference like gamkar who?

This character came to me in a dream! He was in black and white cartoons where he was a dumb guy with a smart cat counterpart (whose design I don’t remember). In the dream he was one of my favorite characters of all time. I don’t remember his name because he seemed to have multiple names across his cartoons. But in my waking hours, I have decided to call him Muddle!

to me there's really something about belonging to a generation of children whose star wars was the prequels, not the originals, not the sequels, whose shared formative childhood myth was not a hopeful one that ended in the defeat of evil and the birth of freedom, but rather a tragic one that took us halfway and dropped us in hell, at the nadir of civilization. lucas showed us to beware of greed, and the hardening of the hearts in fear and self-interest, the mechanization of people acting without empathy, the failure of mutual aid and symbiotic relationships. he depicted it in the way anakin chose his personal power and family over the good of everyone, becoming a fascist enforcer more machine than man, and the way palpatine first made the government worse and then instigated a war in order to get people to beg him to make it better through unilateral action. lucas warned us kids that money in politics would lead to liberty dying with thunderous applause, the empire rising, the jedi dying, the birth of the dark times. ultimately we have to borrow hope from baby luke to even put a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, but his very infancy puts a clock on how long we have to endure the darkness. this is our shared childhood myth, one of ruin. at least it's a story that gave us a vocabulary and mental model to understand what's happening, but god i wish we were the ones who got to dance with the fucking ewoks on endor's moon instead

hey there!! i'd been checking this blog for a while, and I really wanted to say you're a great source of inspiration haha! I really love your dog characters and your lore! The amount of research and dedication is really amazing!! about ludovica's gf, do you mind if I come in with my vision as well? I think she'd be a really fluffy dog, maybe with curly hair. so my mind went to the portuguese water dog; but then i thought of two versions: long hair and short hair. so i drew both (tried my best to make her look like a lady and not a grandpa haha)
