Finishing movies takes patience, especially if the movie is long, or shit, or both. But that comes with the territory of being a "movie buff".
There are two types of people in this world:
People who can start a movie and not finish it
and B. People who believe that aliens don't exist
The latter is a topic for another day, but I need to finish movies man. Just for the plain fact that I can now claim I actually saw it. Who the hell wants to be that person who gets asked: "Hey did you ever see that movie?"
"Well.. I started it but never finished it. WAAAA!!!"
You baby.. ya sound like a LITTLE BABY!
Finish the movie!
..Unless you have better shit to do, then by all means.

“The Good Girl” movie: ⭐️ out of 5 ⭐️s
-This plot is very boring- it’s about Jenifer Aniston working in a retail store and cheating on her husband with a younger, better looking guy
-I was hoping it would get better, but instead the young guy wanted to run off and be with Jennifer and when she wouldn’t come- he killed himself
-I didn’t really feel the passion between them but also wish Jennifer ran off because she wasn’t happy with her husband
-There was no real plot or moral of the story
-I don’t recommend and wouldn’t watch again

Because i randomly give lore away, i shall give you some now.
Magic functions off of two separate things (each utilizing the threads of magic in reality): Intent and the Primal Arcane Tongue.
Though when magic was made, Moveir (the god of magic) never told anyone else about these things; nor did he share any of the glyphs from the primal tongue (at least to mortals).
In turn, this caused people to search for a scientific explanation on how magic works. When magic cant be explained in a sane way
Because one part of magic functions on intent, their experiments would fail when they believed it would fail, and succeed when they believed it to succeed.
They were treating it like something with complicated rules (like math or science), when the only rules were "intent is needed", and "mana is needed in equal value as intent".
So, they constructed complicated spell circles and methods of writing spells down. They made intricate symbols with complex details as to how it functions, and in what way it works.
And because everyone collectively agreed on the things "proven", it was true... because magic is purely intent.
And to this day, people still believe that. And it was done on purpose. Because of how powerful the primal arcane tongue is, Movier made the intentions rule simply to keep people away from the tongue.

media i've consumed recently ۶ৎ
i wanna start writing more! and since i don't really feel like writing fan fiction or fiction or stuff alike, i'll write my thoughts about movies, books (but not this time T_T) and any other things i consume! (though i do admit i DO NOT like using this word!!! i just can't think of anything better)
★ movie: queer (2024)
queer, directed by the one and only luca guadagnino, is a movie i'd been antecipating a lot, since i absolutely loved challengers and quite liked cmbyn and bones and all, and oh my god!!! it did not disappoint!!
this movie was the first i watched on the big screen in 2025 and i'm SO glad i did. by the first minutes, with the montage of lee and gene's things and all apologies by sinead o'connor playing i was already Locked In. queer is just amazing, and it's one of those films that you just never stop thinking about, and i sure haven't!!
the cinematography, as expected, is beautiful. the early shots of lee imagining touching gene are so delicate and melancholic (which are the two words that i think best describe queer as a whole). the dream sequences are also artfully done.
the costuming by j.w. anderson is subtle, but i really like it and think it works. i look forward to see more of his movie costuming! the sets are very pretty but feel, at times, artificial; however it fits the vibe of the movie and i believe guadagnino said on an interview (i might just be making this up though) that this was on purpose to reflect burrough's little knowledge of mexican culture. the cgi is kind of wacky at times!!! it bugged me a little but i just love this film so much that i can excuse it. the soundtrack and score by trent reznor and atticus ross is simply perfect.
both drew starkey and daniel craig deliver amazing performances, i was speechless! daniel craig specially just does lee so, so well and perfecly channels the tragedy of his character.
overall, queer is just an exquisitely made movie that deserves so much more recognition!! an immediate favorite and it's the film that i watched this year that liked the most so far <3
★ movie: parasite (2019)
the best movier ever made. actually.
i went to the theater to watch it when it premiered, in early 2020, and loved it! decided to rewatch it earlier this year and it aged like fine, fine wine. no wonder it got so many awards and is so loved by, like, everyone.
the thing that caught my attention the most is the very interesting symbolism of the stairs: when the kim family goes up the stairs, it represents their social and economic rise, and when they go down, bad things happen.
UUUUGHHH i don't even know what to say!!! the cinematography is amazing. so are the performances. the writing is so smart. just a 10/10 movie. the movie ever made, if you will.
★ movie: la la land (2016)
on my third watch of la la land. i finally got it. the first two times, i was just like 'that's it?' but i couldn't see clearly in my naivety ...
the opening number took my breath away! the colours. the colours!!!! most likely what i loved the most about la la land: its beautiful, vibrant colours and, of course, the amazing soundtrack, everytime i listen to any of the songs, i find something new in them.
maybe i am a little biased because i love musicals from the 40s - 60s and all the references and inspirations make me so delighted! it's a love letter to the city of stars and classic musicals, and i can't not love it.
★ movie: portrait of a lady on fire (2019)
another film i rewatched, just because i felt like i hadn't appreciated it enough in my first time.
portrait of a lady on fire feels intimate, mostly because of the many bust and waist shots (are they actually called this? i have no idea ...) and the simple yet charged dialogue between marianne and heloise. the minimalist cinematography is gorgeous, and i specially love the landscape shots. the scenes where marianne sees heloise in a white dress were so intriguing to me.
the costuming is very accurate! all the clothes are fairly simple, but very pretty nonetheless. simplicity rules here, and it works so well.
i recommend this movie a lot if you're learning french! since the dialogues are simple and they don't talk very fast, i think it's a great listening exercise :3
★ tv show: supernatural seasons 1 - 5 (2005-2010)
it's been a couple of weeks since i finished s5 and i'm still debating if i should continue watching the show ... anyways, i've been listening to this podcast and FINALLY managed to convince my mom to watch it too so i'm rewatching from the beginning with her!
just as i started supernatural, i was immediately drawn to sam and dean's relationship (which is what makes the show interesting tbh!) and how their upbringing shaped their views of the world and the people around them. they are such interesting characters.
the best season to me is s1. they really leaned on the horror here, and the cinematography for this season is really nice. at first the darkness and low saturation bothered me a bit, but i've grown fond of it. i think it elevates the horror elements. i love the religious and folkloric inspirations, and the southern gothic vibes are just it! i really enjoyed the episodes with john: i know he's rather controversial but i really like him as a character and his dynamic with the boys was very intriguing and i sorta wished he'd appeared more. s01e12 faith, s01e18 something wicked were my favorites :)
i didn't like s2 as much as s1, but it's still pretty good. the simplicity of the first two seasons (even s3 too) arcs are one of the things i liked the most: just sam and dean going after monsters. though i do like the seasons that come after, the high stakes, angels and demons and apocalypse stuff isn't as appealing to me! 02e11 playthings, s02e16 roadkill and s02e20 - 22 what is and what should never be and all hell breaks loose part 1 & 2 were the episodes that stood out the most to me. i specially liked the finale.
unfortunately since i binged them it in like less than a month i forgor most of it which is one of the reasons i'm rewatching T_T
s3 was really solid and i liked it more than s2. it gave us some really interesting episodes and insights on sam and dean's relationship. i absolutely loved ruby this season!! my faves were s03e08 a very supernatural christmas, s03e11 mystery spot and s03e13 ghosfacerssss.
okay. now. s4 was the beginning of the end for me. i enjoyed it but, again, the high stakes aren't as appealing to me! it's still a good season but ehhh. s0403 in the beginning, s04e05 monster movie, s04e11 family remains and s04e14 sex and violence (CRAZY FUCKING EPISODE BTW. AND SAM AND DEAN DON'T EVEN TALK ABOUT IT AFTERWARDS??? IT HAS NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP??? ALRIGHT) were my favorites!
i kinda started s5 thinking it'd probably be the last season i'd watch, as it is the last kripke season and the show was intented to end here. objectively, it's fine, but halfway through it i was already getting bored and wishing it was over. adam was such a cutie btw. love him. s05e05 fallen idols, s05e08 changing channels, s05e14 my bloody valentine and s05e16 dark side of the moon (absolutely DIABOLICAL writing here. i can never listen to knocking on heaven's door the same) were the episodes i liked the most!
overall great watching experience and i already find myself missing watching it for the first time! will definitely be coming back many times to rewatch it :)
★ video: switzerland, how i read books, and margiela fragrances
honestly i could put any of mina le's videos in here!! i admire her so much, but this vlog was just really relaxing to watch and i found her explanation of how she reads books very enlightening. i could hear her talk for hours!
★ video essay: is fetish art important?
an extremely interesting video not necessarily about fetish art, but an art history lesson that connects fetish art and how it is truly avant garde in the times we live.
★ video: architect breaks down the evolution of batman's wayne manor
i'm a batman nerd. and an architecture student. what more can i say. it's very fun to see different directors' interpretation of the wayne manor and how it reflects on their version of bruce/batman.
★ video: sweet pool and horror from within
an analysis/review of the bl visual novel sweet pool. i really like their analysis under the lenses of horror, romance and feminist theory.
★ video documentary: 13 lentes de um final feliz
this almost seven hour long video is (for now at least) the last of a trilogy of documentaries recording the making of some of the youtuber/rapper yung lixo's albums. i've accompanied his trajectory as both a youtuber and an artist since 2016, and (not to get parasocial but) it makes me so emotional seeing how he's grown and changed over the years :,)
i think this was it! thank you so much if you read this entire rambling ajaskjs
