Getting around to posting old-ish art...
Finalized the designs for these characters awhile back since I've finally fleshed them out as well, a pair of goobers who end up acting as the hands for Autumn's Herald.

House of Feänor as Aesthetics:
Fëanor  —  loud voice, commanding presence, analytical, natural leader, piercing eyes, foggy hillsides, black boots, tipping their head back to breathe the air, mirrored lakes and everything below the surface, tearing leaves from trees, blunt sarcasm, long dark hair, deep sleeper, rotting tree stumps, black leather jacket, songs that makes you want to create a storm, rebellious, ambition, unstoppable passion, fast trains, polaroids, empty castles.
Maedhros — walking silently, stronger due to all the stuff meant to kill them, ignoring their mental health issues, fiery red hair, crumbling marble, oversized hoodies, raw voice, lingering touches, faint music in the distance, calming down from a panic attack, long heavy cloaks, cold hands, disillusioned with the world, insomnia, unhealthy habits, sighs made visible by cold night air, strong hugs, never sleeps, loud music, freckles, dark under-eyes.
Maglor — hypnotising smiles, a broken mind, melancholy, driving through mountains and the woods, iced coffee, the faint feeling of raindrops on your cheeks, ripped jeans, tight hugs, whispered compliments, deep conversations, late night texts, nimble hands, thin blades, white lilies, vertigo, unkept journals, lightning and thunder, rhythms so raw the heartbreak is showing, shattered glass, walking alone on a cold night, silver necklaces, regret.
Celegorm — bright eyes, climbing rock formations, cold-hearted, hard breathing after running, wood cabins, gladiator arenas, wicked smiles, twisted branches, wild hair, growing more and more dangerous, night drives, adrenaline rushes, bruises, bloody cloaks, running from society, breathless laughing, that animalistic unpredictability, silver and leather bracelets, strong coffee after a sleepless night, city lights from a high rise, addiction, barking dogs, hurricanes.
Caranthir — ironic smirks, bitten nails painted black, lightning in summer, empty threats, sunglasses hiding dead eyes, thick chain jewellery, temperamental, goes to car races just to watch the crashes, deep glares, tongue/lip piercings, midnight walks, lightbulbs burning out, diamonds, crushed ice, a glint of cat eyes in the dark, gold coins in storm drains, cold hands, storm clouds rolling in, theatres, suppressed emotions, wrought iron gates, motorcycles.
Curufin — cherries and Diet Coke, white marble, a studio apartment on the 67th floor, tattoos, neon lights, sweetened coffee, smudged makeup, too-loud music, cursive notes written in red ink, veiny forearms, sharp canines, fresh snowfall, high rise buildings, white light, sheer robes with nothing underneath, fog, stained glass windows, colourful hair, slow heartbeats, long-forgotten love, cold mountaintops, eternal silence.
Amrod — burnished copper, feverish eyes, hues of orange and gold, stars and spades, brewing tea, freckles, hardwood floors, poisonous flowers, listens to Hozier, messy hair, fake circle glasses, bullet point notes on a restaurant napkin, comfortable silence, broken wings on insects, old hungers, the whispering of trees, kicking stones on deserted paths, forgotten places, origami stars, old overgrown stone castles, morning mist, horse riding.
Amras  —  misplaced keys, wandering aimlessly, selectively mute, deep lakes hiding secrets, pine trees, restless nights, misunderstood, reliving the same day over and over again, graphic tees, dead moths, visual mind, muffled screams into a pillow, listens to asmr, doc martens, profanity, burned cigarettes, zoning out often, heart fluttering nervously, confusing satellites for stars, comic filled bookshelves, radios, old jeeps, glowing keyboards.
Celebrimbor — ravens, white-hot metal, the darkest shade of black, glittering skin, low waist pants, stars falling, the heat lingering in the evening, petals falling off dead flowers, trusting the wrong people, blue veins, cobblestone paths, linoleum tiles, bruises/scars easily, the heat lingering in the evening, cities awake late, card games, overanalysing everything, shiny fabrics, the slamming of a shot glass, the sting of betrayal.

It’s Pride 2023! Time to put up some more comic recs!
This time I’ve put together some stories about discovering one’s own queer identity, outlining a family history of queerness, and several stories where being queer isn’t the focus - queer characters are simply allowed to be.
Belle of the Ball By Mari Costa
High-school senior and notorious wallflower Hawkins finally works up the courage to remove her mascot mask and ask out her longtime crush: Regina Moreno, head cheerleader, academic overachiever, and all-around popular girl. There’s only one teensy little problem: Regina is already dating Chloe Kitagawa, athletic all-star…and middling English student. Regina sees a perfectly self-serving opportunity here, and asks the smitten Hawkins to tutor Chloe free of charge, knowing Hawkins will do anything to get closer to her. And while Regina’s plan works at first, she doesn’t realize that Hawkins and Chloe knew each other as kids, when Hawkins went by Belle and wore princess dresses to school every single day. Before long, romance does start to blossom…but not between who you might expect. With Belle of the Ball, cartoonist Mariana Costa has reinvigorated satisfying, reliable tropes into your new favorite teen romantic comedy.

The Moth Keeper By Kay O’Neill
Anya is finally a Moth Keeper, the protector of the lunar moths that allow the Night-Lily flower to bloom once a year. Her village needs the flower to continue thriving and Anya is excited to prove her worth and show her thanks to her friends with her actions, but what happens when being a Moth Keeper isn't exactly what Anya thought it would be? The nights are cold in the desert and the lunar moths live far from the village. Anya finds herself isolated and lonely. Despite Anya's dedication, she wonders what it would be like to live in the sun. Her thoughts turn into an obsession, and when Anya takes a chance to stay up during the day to feel the sun's warmth, her village and the lunar moths are left to deal with the consequences.

Hollow By Shannon Watters, Branden Boyer-White & Berenice Nelle
Isabel "Izzy" Crane and her family have just relocated to Sleepy Hollow, the town made famous by—and obsessed with—Washington Irving's legend of the Headless Horseman. But city slicker-skeptic Izzy has no time for superstition as she navigates life at a new address, a new school, and, with any luck, with new friends. Ghost stories aren't real, after all.... Then Izzy is pulled into the orbit of the town's teen royalty, Vicky Van Tassel (yes, that Van Tassel) and loveable varsity-level prankster Croc Byun. Vicky's weariness with her family connection to the legend turns to terror when the trio begins to be haunted by the Horseman himself, uncovering a curse set on destroying the Van Tassel line. Now, they have only until Halloween night to break it—meaning it's a totally inconvenient time for Izzy to develop a massive crush on the enigmatic Vicky. Can Izzy's practical nature help her face the unknown—or only trip her up? As the calendar runs down to the 31st, Izzy will have to use all of her wits and work with her new friends to save Vicky and uncover the mystery of the legendary Horseman of Sleepy Hollow—before it's too late.

Until I Meet my Husband By Ryousuke Nanasaki & Yoshi Tsukizuki
The memoir of gay activist Ryousuke Nanasaki and the first religiously recognized same-sex marriage in Japan. From school crushes to awkward dating sites to finding a community, this collection of stories recounts the author’s “firsts” as a young gay man searching for love. Dating is never ever easy, but that goes doubly so for Ryousuke, whose journey is full of unrequited loves and many speed bumps. But perseverance and time heals all wounds, even those of the heart.

Is Love the Answer? By Uta Isaki
When it comes to love, high schooler Chika wonders if she might be an alien. She’s never fallen for or even had a crush on anyone, and she has no desire for physical intimacy. Her friends tell her that she just "hasn't met the one yet," but Chika has doubts... It's only when Chika enters college and meets peers like herself that she realizes there’s a word for what she feels inside--asexual--and she’s not the only one. After years of wondering if love was the answer, Chika realizes that the answer she long sought may not exist at all--and that that's perfectly normal.

M Is for Monster By Talia Dutton
When Doctor Frances Ai's younger sister Maura died in a tragic accident six months ago, Frances swore she would bring her back to life. However, the creature that rises from the slab is clearly not Maura. This girl, who chooses the name "M," doesn't remember anything about Maura's life and just wants to be her own person. However, Frances expects M to pursue the same path that Maura had been on—applying to college to become a scientist—and continue the plans she and Maura shared. Hoping to trigger Maura's memories, Frances surrounds M with the trappings of Maura's past, but M wants nothing to do with Frances' attempts to change her into something she's not. In order to face the future, both Frances and M need to learn to listen and let go of Maura once and for all. Talia Dutton's debut graphic novel, M Is for Monster, takes a hard look at what it means to live up to other people's expectations—as well as our own.

Golden Sparkle By Minta Suzumaru
Himaru Uehara’s first year of high school is off to a good start, minus one problem—he keeps having wet dreams. With only his mom and sister at home—and having skipped health class in middle school—he thinks it means there’s something wrong with him. Thankfully, a new friend has just the remedy and teaches Himaru exactly how to deal with those pesky dreams! But his solution only leads to more confusion, and the two find themselves navigating feelings they’ve never felt before.
---
Thieves By Lucie Bryon
Ella can’t seem to remember a single thing from the party the night before at a mysterious stranger’s mansion, and she sure as heck doesn’t know why she’s woken up in her bed surrounded by a magpie’s nest of objects that aren’t her own. And she can’t stop thinking about her huge crush on Madeleine, who she definitely can’t tell about her sudden penchant for kleptomania… But does Maddy have secrets of her own? Can they piece together that night between them and fix the mess of their chaotic personal lives in time to form a normal, teenage relationship? That would be nice.
---
Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic By Alison Bechdel
Meet Alison's father, a historic preservation expert and obsessive restorer of the family's Victorian home, a third-generation funeral home director, a high school English teacher, an icily distant parent, and a closeted homosexual who, as it turns out, is involved with his male students and a family babysitter. Through narrative that is alternately heartbreaking and fiercely funny, we are drawn into a daughter's complex yearning for her father. And yet, apart from assigned stints dusting caskets at the family-owned "fun home," as Alison and her brothers call it, the relationship achieves its most intimate expression through the shared code of books. When Alison comes out as homosexual herself in late adolescense, the denouement is swift, graphic -- and redemptive.

So i saw somebody make art of Starscream as a moth and something was awoken inside of me. I present Hollow Knight X Transformers BUGFORMERS!!!! (Or Hollowformers???) Sorry for the shitty sketches, i'll translate my handwriting lmao
Tumblr media
Starscream: A Red-Underwing Moth I decided to make all the seekers different moths, have fun with that Megatron: A Black Stag Beetle His armor can be removed, I'll draw it eventually, but under his helmet are small (very sensitive!!!) antennae!!!
Tumblr media
Optimus: A Rain Beetle I wanted to make him a dung beetle at first, cause I love the shape of scarab-like beetles but I wanted Bulkhead to be a dung beetle, so I picked my personal favorite type of beetle, the Rain Beetle! Bumblebee: A Bumble bee I think this is obvious.
Tumblr media
Arcee: A Blue Dasher Dragonfly She's small, fierce, and fast. I knew a Dragonfly would fit her. Bulkhead: A Rainbow Dung Beetle Bulkhead is a strong, bulky guy, so a strong bulky bug fits him. But I didn't want him to be a plain dung beetle, so I went with the more beautiful, and intimidating type of dung beetle! And its sort of an iridescent green, like our bulky boi. (He also has a second pair of arms he keeps tucked between his armor plating for his safety, but he uses 'em when he needs extra leverage)
Tumblr media
Ratchet: A Man-Faced Bug My friend insisted he'd be this kind of bug, and after looking it up, I agree. You can see his face in this bug and I love it. The runner up was a ladybug if you want to do anything with that. Drift: An Idolo mantis I wanted Drift to keep his sort of "intimidating with dexterity" vibes but add a bit more beauty to give that sweetness to his design you see in his character. An Idolo Mantis is that lovely mix of floral beauty and intimidating that I thought would fit perfectly for Drift.
Tumblr media
Cyclonus: Spiky Flower Mantis Same deal with Cyclonus but more intimidating. I wanted him to look scary and powerful, but beautiful in an intimidating way, like how he is in the comics. Tailgate: Pill bug (Isopod) Round, sweet, adorable, and one of my favorite bugs. Very useful for the environment and durable, as well as huggable. I think it fits Tailgate pretty well.

ANNNNd finally...some doobles of Starscream cause im an addict.

Ok I SWEAR I'm not trying to babygirlify VALENTINO of all people but I keep thinking of this
Tumblr media
Do you guys remember in the Alastor comic where, it's never really explained why, but Alastor reached for a rose and it wilted before he touched it. We aren't really sure how, but all Sinners seem to have some sort of actual punishment or draw back to living "downstairs" because technically otherwise you're just, running around the same as being alive
And then you have this line from Loser Baby
Tumblr media
So
Is Valentino's punishment in Hell that his eyes are too bad for him to create art? Or is it symbolic of something that happened when he was alive? Is it just a "ha ha funny moth" joke?
also. I think he might be into botany, or he likes the smell of flowers as a moth demon, because did you guys peep the environmental storytelling on the fact his room has a massive plant terrarium and even the porn studio of all places has vines? You're telling me this catty controlling bitch keeps plants in his workplace and his private room? There's no way it's not because he isn't a plant hobbyist or something

I wanna put this creep under a microscope and study him like an incurable disease 😩❤️

There are 300 days left until I start uploading 'Death of the Author' Moshang fancomic here, and I just finished working on page 50!
To celebrate, here are some of my favourite panels so far:
Tumblr media
Airplane doing finger guns at Cucumer. You know, just bro stuff.
Tumblr media
Mobei just towering over Qinghua. This is a recurring theme, btw.
Tumblr media
This face ^
Tumblr media
And this one! ^ :D
Tumblr media
Qinghua fantasizing about his future. I spent over an hour drawing the flowers for this panel.
Tumblr media
Mobei smiling upon seeing his hamster. Pure love.
Tumblr media
And to end with - Qinghua threatening the demons! They fing him all so hot for this!
Most of the background characters are borrowed from different works, both other danmei and Japanese/European/American origin. However, there will be some OCs as well:
Tumblr media
Ling Shumei from 'God's Tears' makes a re-appearance and this time two of my oldest OCs are joining her. Alex, as a moth demon and court healer, and Loki, as a European devil/vampire and another one of Qinghua's assistants.
I'm working on chapter 3 now, and there is so much more left to be done! The comic was planned for 17 chapters - it's 16 now since I will be merging chapters 4 and 5 into one.
I know it will be a long wait but I hope it will be worth it. I am having so much fun working on this project! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Early access to comic is available to my supporters on Ko-fi. Comic will come to Tumblr and AO3 with weekly updates, starting 1st January 2025.

I snuck in a late spring hike in Cheat River Canyon yesterday, before the dreaded heat dome builds in early next week. Between Brazil's Pantanal going up in flames and the massive heat spikes in North America and elsewhere, I wonder what will be left of this planet's beautiful wild places in twenty to thirty years. For now, I celebrate and cherish every day the glorious diversity of living things that nature has gifted us. This includes the magnificent poke milkweed (Asclepias exaltata), a shade tolerant member of the dogbane family, which feeds and hosts a great many of those living things, such as the extraordinary Himmelman's plume moth (Geina tenuidactylus). Or the comical-looking rock harlequin (Corydalis sempervirens), which clings to the rocky outcrops of the canyon. And the exquisite downy skullcap (Scutellaria incana), a gregarious summer mint that associates with wild bergamot and tall thimbleweed at forest edges. And how about the peculiar dangling flowers of Indian cucumber (Medeola virginiana) or the pale, ghostly stems and bracts of the parasitic Indian pipe (Monotropa uniflora), just now emerging from the forest floor? In a couple of weeks, the rhododendron bloom will start in the canyon and summer will be in full swing.

Hello! Welcome to my project called Sewn Up Trouble! These three are the main characters + a few others. Here's just some basic info about them. More will be updated and added. I've made these characters years ago and now I'm trying to actually make them a proper story. I've only made concepts and drawings which i'll be using for the comic. These characters are based on the game LittleBigPlanet. Bonnie Pronouns: she/her Personality: kind and logical. She tries to be a heroic leader and loves helping people out. She thinks more about others than herself. She panics and gets upset when things don't go according to plan. Can be a bit clumsy, and jumbles her words from time to time. Likes: creating, gardening, exploring, sewing, drawing, flowers Dislikes: people that wanna take away the creativity, needles, spikes, (anything sharp pretty much) Extra info: She's a bunny. She has her own garden that she takes care of and wears a sun hat while doing it. She was by herself before she met the others. Fun Fact: She was my first LittleBigPlanet oc Kaida Pronouns: she/her Personality: nice but gets upset at random times, anxious, nerdy Likes: calm places, being creative, campfires, smores, Dislikes: feeling like a disappointment, being stressed, being cold, worrying about what people think of her, not feeling like herself Extra info: She's a dragon. accidentally sets things on fire, has reoccurring nightmares of a shadow like figure, can fly with her wings, has another outfit that's watermelon themed, sometimes feels like she isn't even controlling herself, has this strange voice saying things to her but tries to ignore it, was lonely until she met the others. Fun Fact: I made her based on my username I had for my playstation account. Moss Pronouns: any (mainly he/they) no "it" Personality: very moody, has quite the attitude, doesn't look on the bright side of things, is quite mean, (but sometimes doesn't mean it), complains a lot, takes things seriously Likes: comfy clothing, fairy grunge aesthetic, rock music, reading, light, Dislikes: annoying people, adventures, running, the dark, getting her wings wet, (or being wet in general) Extra info: He's a fairy/ moth. Talks in a monotone voice, would swear (but doesn't wanna do it around certain people). Likes to dress however they want, they don't care what other people think. Doesn't really like adventure and would rather be by themselves, but gets always dragged into things. He can flutter his wings, but only for a short bit of time. He gets tired easily and acts like he doesn't care about others when he kinda does. Seems suspicious of Kaida, what could they be hiding? Fun Fact: He is actually not made in game but I made him in my coding class. Feel free to ask them any questions, if you'd like! Thank you for reading! :D

My posts
Good news: We haven’t had a third Trespasser Incident. Bad news: There was a fuckin’ coyote staring my dog down from the driveway across the street last night. I won’t lie to you, there have been aggressive coyotes spotted in people’s yards around here, but not in my neighborhood before this, and also, I live in THE SUBURBS.
Worse news: I had a migraine so bad that I was hungover for two days. In fact, I’m having a hard time thinking straight even now. Apparently a ton of people had migraines around the middle of last week? I have no idea.
Meanwhile, I will be in the dentist’s chair for a few hours tomorrow. For half of that I’ll be staring at the ceiling waiting for the dentist to come back from some mysterious task, except that I won’t because I’ll be glued to the Hot Vintage Lady Polls: Round 2, starting tomorrow (3/25). Currently going: The Shadow Bracket, to see which fortunate souls get to escape. (I have filed this under “My posts,” but these are not my posts at all; they’re simply the reblogs I’m going to inflict on you, every single one.)
The point of my addition here is that there’s a wider culture war in the U.S., it’s all connected, and the KOSA bill is merely the online expression of that.
Reblogs of interest
A much quieter week since I wasn’t reblogging polls around the clock and also, I had a migraine:
New Hozier songs! And the one that’s charting is--light and fun and catchy, to the amazement of all. I mean, in context it’s still about going to hell, but you wouldn’t know that if someone didn’t tell you, and damnation just adds a little spice.
This post is nominally a link to “I’ve found the key to making everyone mad in Sea of Thieves,” but please read the second article, “Everyone hates my big stupid horse in Red Dead Online,” as well. You will regret nothing.
This is a good post about the difference between couture and haute couture, but honestly, I reblogged it for the last line.
I would say “tag yourself,” but everyone would choose Lady Page Turner
The imaginary Barbie Dream Sandworm smells like cinnamon. I can’t.
“Is Fox Mulder the most comically-brutalized protagonist in television history?”
I can tell you that this is a pressed flower collage of a comet moth and you will not believe me
Also unbelievable: art made in Microsoft Office applications
Honestly I hope we just keep talking about fairies and walruses forever
Video
One fear: Chocolate Guy
More sounds from the pallas cat
I played this bird singing a cookie song like 15 times in a row while I was stressed, and it helped.
The sacred texts
None this week.
Personal tag of the week
I’m not sure how I had two entire posts celebrating “cringe”/freedom of expression, but here we are.

Drew the panels for the reel, but wanted to add some context of what was happening~
(I also wanted to show what their world looks like, because I'm always too lazy to draw backgrounds in comics lol)
And not so interesting fact, but Billy and Lemoney are supposed to go from right to left~ Just to show that they tend to get into Almond's way
Little details that are hard to see↓

A goth moth painter

A family of rubber duckies

The two watching the practice while being a bit nervous

Hello!!! Here's my second gift for the @mcythorrorgiftexchange !!! this gift goes to @nickle-moth !!! You said you wanted flower husbands, so I delivered. I was originally gonna do an animation/animatic but since I ran out of time, I decided to cap it off with a comic piece and show you the WIP of what I'd animated so far. They go together hand in hand, the comic is what I would've animated next had I had more time - Scott avenging Jimmy after Skizz killed him. I hope you like it!! Have a great day!!
