it's the midwest usa. curly and jimmy are long haul truckers traversing the wasteland. they happen upon a car accident involving anya, daisuke, and swansea. the crew forms. curly gets infected with the evil mouthwash. the crew needs to find a cure. Things Go Wrong.

i think the sketchier/scratchier style with minimal color suits this au. if i ever do comics i think i'll leave any color to just the zombies/mouthwash like this. and curly's eyes ofc.

His wording in his recount to leed is what really gets me too. He calls Falin "a member of our party", not "our mage", he calls Mar that, despite Falin having been their official mage longer. It's not just because mar has had to have been lately, or the unsaid fear falin would never be their mage again, but because chil knows marcille a lot better than he knows Falin, especially so over this journey. He has nothing against falin just because she makes him nervous, Marcille clearly does too lol, it just reminds us how much hes gotten comfortable around her. To trust and care about her to the point of becoming more her friend even as he's learned the worst about her lately. How far he's come since fearing an elf dare join their team!
