been more quiet on here for season 2 bc a) im drastically more employed this time around (rip) b) it felt like so much of my opinion of events in this season were going to hinge upon where everything landed in the finale.

tbh i also ended up being p critical of certain elements this season and didn't feel like spoiling anybody's fun while the show was still airing new episodes. a lot of my opinions of this season were shaped by the fact that i started reading the books. i am a firm believer in allowing for necessary changes when making an adaptation and allowing it to evolve into its own thing so it also felt kind of shitty to be like. she (the books) wouldn't say that!!!! lol

anyways lol i've decided to make a little list of things i enjoyed, things i thought were mid, and things i actively disliked this season

LIKED:

a) new mat! i thought his performance was really strong and just about everything they did with him this season made me appropriately sad. bonus points for making his dynamic with min reading like a frat boy and a begrudging grad student going on a bar crawl together as "repayment" for tutoring lol

b) elayne! again i thought ceara coveny did a really good job and i liked how she fit into relationships with the other characters.

c) nynaeve and the liandrin of it all! nynaeve's arc this season was one of the strongest this season imo, and i think using liandrin to discuss the culture of abuse present in the tower was smart.

d) egwene and madeleine madden!! emmy campaign begins now!!! episode 6 was one of my favorite episodes of the season in large part due to her performance. the damane arc is truly harrowing stuff and the entire creative team handled it pretty well

c) moiraine telling lan that he was always her better in the finale!!! insanely unfortunate that this is pretty much my only Moiraine Moment without major qualms this season!!!!!!!!!!!!

d) the forsaken! their business casual swag had me laughing every time. could not stop myself from shouting w at the tv screen when mogehdien showed up at the very end

e) the ef5 reuniting in the finale! im totally fine with how this changes the ending in the books. sure i missed the giant fire battle in the sky but i gained all the besties going squad mode+elayne not introducing herself with her royal title to rand lol

MID:

a) lan and moiraine bestie devastation battle - i didn't outright hate all of this from the start like some people have but i def think this ended up severely fumbled in terms of execution. one of my fav moments in the books so far has been their fight in the second one where she basically says the most upsetting shit possible to upset him to get him to admit that he has found a new connection that could lead to an actual life (aka nynaeve) and he calls her on it but still gets upset and proves her point anyway! would have preferred moiraine went even more jigsaw emotional torture trap this season tbh

b) nynaeve's accepted test - mostly liked, felt like they didn't quite hit the right tone of dread these tests achieve in the books. its not completely a "i dreamed up a family that isn't real and now i have to abandon them" thing for me and more about how they don't understand why you have to leave them and beg you to stay. feel like this could have been more emotionally powerful

c) verin - meera syal obviously a very talented actress and she did grow on me as the season went on but i feel like she was almost TOO charismatic in a way. wanted her to be a little colder/wryer? she could definitely be charming in the books but i always felt like a lot of her power socially came from getting people to underestimate her by acting like a distracted and disconnected weirdo only to go in for the kill. missed this a bit this season

DISLIKED:

a) literally pains me to say it but.....moiraine's arc this season really didn't hit for me...felt kind of unfocused....wished she had been even more brutal in her pursuit....liked the start of her washerwoman era but it didn't really end up liking much of what came after......poor execution of what could have been a really interesting exploration of both her backstory and the way she would have to change the way she operates without the one power.....etc etc

b) cairhien :( could and probably will make a whole separate post about this but the design principles at play here were Not It for me at all. rococo? rococo bro? also don't like the way its political elements and lore were communicated which leads me right to......

c) house damodred/laman. major book spoilers ahead but thought it was a complete misfire to hold off on explaining laman's whole deal and moiraine's connection to it presumably until next season to parallel it with the aiel. cairhien is inherently shaped by the aiel war and moiraine is made a far more compelling character when u learn about her relationship to it thru her family. i thought the switch in birth order was interesting but basically every other change or delay in her backstory was a flop for me. her whole connection to trying to undo the sins of her own family makes her drive to save the world way more interesting!!! was hoping the show would take the time to expand on her relationship with elayne not (at this point seemingly) erase it. are u telling me i don't get galad now? be serious?

d) moiraine and lan's suicide conversation in episode 7. felt awkward and nearly too direct without acknowledging the fact that moiraine's dedication to The Work above all else is in some ways defacto suicidal

d) siuan :((((((((((((( i get that we didn't have sophie around as much as she needed to be this season bc of contracts to other shows and stuff but man did we mismanage the time we did get with her lads....will prob also make a separate post about this as well but i do want to say that while i think her and moiraine having a major split over what to do with rand could have been interesting i think the execution is really REALLY poor here. think that confrontation would have been more emotionally powerful if they were just appealing to each other and the fourth oath wasn't used. wish people had been gossiping about what she was up to off screen so we had more context for her actions this whole season generally. L's all the way around

e) episode 7. again.

f) thought it was fucked that when lan and moiraine reestablished the bond again neither of them even brought up how he has to share any heartbreak she has over siuan now. another miss for full emotional impact

g) episode 7. AGAIN.

Here’s some potential questions I might get that I’m proactively answering now:

Why was the old blog deleted?

-I had a bad experience in the community and wanted to remove myself from it completely. I also had no idea where the game direction was going. Honestly, it started out with me wanting to make a yandere game with no understanding of what was going to happen really.

Why are you continuing with Duplicity?

-Duplicity originally stemmed from vague ideas about a horror romance I had started writing three years ago. Really, only some of the character names were similar. Once I started to feel like I wanted to come back and resume with development, I knew it needed a complete overhaul. So I went back to that old story and started piecing it together so it would work for a visual novel!

What changed and what can we expect?

-In the original demo, the game’s MC was around 20 years old. This has changed to player preference of anywhere between 25-30. Why? Because I’ve been wanting to see older characters in yandere visual novels, and just in VNs in general. I also don’t feel comfortable writing younger characters anymore. The characters’ ages will change depending on yours as well, which will be explained later. The only characters who have set ages are Mags and Melon.

-Speaking of characters, Sophie is no longer part of the story. I didn’t think about it at the time but I don’t want a minor to be included in this story when she’s not directly related to anyone, like a sister or a niece or something. In her place are several new characters: Nina, Savoy, and Melon.

-The game will be released in 3 parts instead of on a day-to-day basis. Part one will be mostly introductory but lengthy, part two will probably be the longest, and part three will mostly be focused on the endings of each route.

-The game will have more than just Griffin’s route. There are currently 9 endings I’m in the process of planning.

-As of the publishing of this post, everything previously known to the game is no longer canon, except for a few things.

What kind of asks can we send?

-Asks pertaining to the game and its characters and settings are all completely fine. In fact, it’ll probably help me develop the characters even better.

-NSFW asks are allowed! While there might not be NSFW in the base game (still juggling around the idea of a paid NSFW version), I am happy to write little fics if people are wanting them. I love writing, give me prompts!

-Hateful, derogatory, or other such topics that are sent to this blog will not be tolerated nor published. I wish to promote a safe space for everyone, and I won’t pay attention to any negativity.

-Silly and nonsensical asks are also allowed if they aren’t negative in context.

Alright this was long lmao but I hope it encompasses the general idea of what to expect from here on out! I’m not putting myself on a publishing schedule and I will update as frequently or as little as I do. I’m an anxious bean and can only do so much.

Six Sentence Sunday Monday

i'm still tinkering away at my wip Andromache's Child, but right now I can't find any new lines i think are good enough to be shared. i had joked to some friends months ago that my goal was to get it to 69K by 2025, because it sounds funnier than 70K, and it's currently on 65K, so i'm on track!

i missed posting yesterday as i'm dealing with the aftermath of Storm Darragh. our hay shed got damaged and we fixed that in the middle of the storm, as we can't afford for the hay to get wet and rot. the gate to my goat pen also came off it's hinges, but so far we've only tied a wicket in it's place. the worst bit was that my little goat Olive's eye got hurt, we think a bit of debris might have gotten blown into it, but with a wipe clean and some eye drops, it looks like no lasting damage was done, which is a relief. i post about my goats over on instagram and have videos showing her eye and the broken gate.

so for now, here's some from my OC wip, which is at a much lower word count. i mostly work on this when i need some variation, tbh, but these characters are such a comfort to write, very inspired by different facets of myself. you can click the #my ocs tag for more of them.

this is from the POV of Roman, who is the reader-insert, new to the magical village where the story is set, fresh off losing his dad to cancer and his own series of injuries and revelations as he's discovered he has magic of his own, but his dad hid it from him as it cost his mother her life.

In the months after my dad's death, I would wake up every morning with a sense of emptiness, and a moment later, reality would crash down on top of me, and I would break down into tears. Eventually the crying stopped, but the empty feeling remained.

Now, I blink awake and feel peaceful. I remember where I am and how I got here, and of course the grief remains, but I swing my legs out of bed and tread to the kitchen with a sense of having grown around it.

I make a cup of tea in the early morning light, letting the silence wash over me before the day can begin as I stir in the milk and sugar.

My tranquil mindset is shattered when I take a sip and spit it out on instinct at the taste of sour milk.

I’m probably not gonna tag this with anything so those who see it get to see it I guess, but uh… I’m probably gonna step away from Tumblr for a day or two? It feels weird posting my bullshit about my little OC’s rn in this exact moment, but also I didn’t want my most recent post to be the last post I have before I dip out for a few days, cause that’s not the vibe I want my online presence to have, so uh… what’s a history fact I can share-

Did you know that the term “Teddy Bear” was originally a political statement? “Teddy’s Bear” was a reference to a tied and wounded black bear that US President Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot because it was “unsportsmanlike”, and the term (written with a nickname he notoriously hated) was intended to be satirizing his decision in the media by a political cartoonist of the time. It just so happened that a man who made stuffed animals (or maybe his wife did? I can’t remember) saw the newspaper comic and decided to dedicate one of their plush toys to the President, and his stance against hunting the trapped bear. After naming it “Teddy’s Bear”, that was the name that became associated with the common design of stuffed bear toy! I think someone made something similar in Germany at the same time but the name never stuck. But yeah that’s a cute little history story which I’m pretty sure is mostly historically accurate. There’s records and stuff I think, I just am not in the headspace to find them-

Fic Recs (January 2025)

Long post ahead!

Every month this year, I'm hoping to post a list of fic recs from the 2 fandoms I primarily write/read for: Yuri!!! on Ice and Fruits Basket (though a few others might sneak in here and there, like His Dark Materials and Angels Before Man). 

I'll definitely still reblog promo posts from authors directly, but this monthly rec list will mostly be to spread the word about stories for which the author doesn't appear to be on Tumblr.

In that vein, I'm going to try and prioritize reccing 1) WIPs/recently written stories (i.e. things that have been published or which have been updated within the last year) and/or 2) NSFW fics, since those don't seem to get as much love as they should! (And by that I mean I feel like ppl are shy about admitting they read/enjoy smut, so this is just one small part of my own journey to free myself of deeply entrenched Catholic guilt lol)

If something is a WIP, I'll note that in bold/purple next to the author, and if something is NSFW, I'll note that in bold/red, also next to the author. If you happen to check any of these out and think I've missed including important tags or notes, feel free to let me know.

Oh, and I feel the need to make the disclaimer that there's no way I can list everything I've enjoyed reading lately (even just formatting these 8 recs nearly killed me), so I hope no one takes this as an exhaustive compilation.

That being said, I have been trying to get better at updating My Bookmarks, so maybe you'll find something you like there. For now, I only (publicly) bookmark completed fics, but this will be changing soon.

Yuri!!! on Ice Recs

1)  warm velvet skin (6K, by Oceankings) - NSFW

Relevant Ships/Tags: Viktor/Yuuri, Porn Without Plot, Dom/sub Undertones 

I know not everyone is into this, but when I'm reading smut I want the full play-by-play and tons of detail, and this fic does such an IMMACULATE job of really setting the scene vividly, while also having great pacing. This is a porn without plot fic featuring Dom Yuuri/sub Viktor, and their first time making a full-length video of themselves in the bedroom. The trust Viktor has in Yuuri is just so, so good, and I love how unabashedly into each other they are.

Excerpt: 

“Keep your hands to yourself tonight.” Yuuri murmurs against his lips. They’re not so much kissing as Yuuri is resting his lips against Victor’s. They share the same air but Victor would love nothing more than to be consumed in a kiss with Yuuri again.

His gaze flickers over the camera where the red recording light blinks at them still. He’d almost forgotten about its presence, becoming so distracted by Yuuri just being there. Seeing it wracks his whole body in a shiver and he stutters out a breath.

“I won’t touch myself.” The words are out of his mouth before he has the chance to think twice. It’s not until a few moments later that he realizes this is going to be torture. The chance to get to prove how obedient he is for Yuuri on camera barely fuels him forward.

Yuuri smiles and pecks him twice on the lips in reward. “I know you’ll do well, Vitya.” The phrase has its intended results and Victor manages to buck himself up against Yuuri one last time before he’s moving away.

2) Skaterview (13K, by skippingmud) - WIP

I LOVE social-media and interview-based fics, and have really been enjoying this WIP. It features Yuuri and Phichit as college students who start a YouTube channel (called ShallWeSkate) as part of an assignment for one of Phichit's classes. 

What starts as a way for them to react candidly to watching their favorite skaters in competition later evolves to their conducting 'skaterviews': interviews with their idols! Once they create the channel and interview Leo de la Iglesia for their first skaterview, ShallWeSkate takes off in popularity, and it's so fun to read about in-universe figure skating fans FREAKING OUT on YouTube over both how talented a team Yuuri/Phichit are, as well as their proximity to their faves. 

Note: Tumblr formatting hates me, so in the below excerpt, I wasn't able to include the underlines that skippingmud has in their fic for the YouTube commenters; in the actual fic itself, the formatting looks much neater/polished than it does in this post

Excerpt (from Chapter 3):

You should spend some time in front of the camera, too!” Guang Hong added. “I didn’t see you in Leo’s video at all.”

“Come on, Yuuri, it’ll be our treat!” Leo insisted. “You deserve it for all the hard work.”

Phichit beamed when his roommate eventually agreed, though he wasn’t really surprised—neither of them were about to say no to eating with two people they were big fans of.

3) Mare incognitum (5K, by carnivores) - NSFW

Relevant Ships/Tags: Viktor/Yuuri, Dark Viktor Nikiforov, Alternate Universe - Mythology, Religious Imagery & Symbolism

As someone raised in a devout Catholic family (don't worry, I've deconstructed all that shit...slowly and painfully), I am such a sucker for religious symbolism fics and this story fulfilled my every desire when it comes to moral ambiguity and metaphor.

Like, good GOD, where do I even begin with describing the prose? If you've read/liked Paradise Lost, I feel like this fic would cater perfectly to your interests. It's a Siren Victor AU, with Yuuri as a (devoutly religious) shepherd. If you're not a fan of florid/surrealist prose, then you might not enjoy this, but I personally loved the way this writer plays with language. Note: this fic is only available to view by registered users on the Archive 

Excerpt: 

Yuuri huffs, closing his jacket around him, sealing warmth in. The wind keeps whistling, frigid and raw.

“I’m not coming with you.”

Viktor pouts, and the ruby red of his lips is like a nauseating warning siren. He has always been unfathomably beautiful. 

“Then why should I do anything for you?”

Viktor begins to sing, husky from the saltwater he has breathed, eroding his throat like the grind of sand, and he reaches towards Yuuri. Light reflects against his sharply silver hair, a hazy spectral play of soft and rough light. He is ethereal. The crescendo of his song kisses across Yuuri’s skin, sharply, wetly; but Yuuri is a devoted man, and he does not make mistakes twice.

“Give Yuuko’s children back.” Yuuri demands starkly. His nails press crescent moons into the skin of his own palms in his pocket. He does not waver.

Viktor is incandescently delighted. “And so Eve came to bargain with the sea-snake?” He asks, mocking.

“No,” Yuuri says, eyes narrowing. “The sword of God comes to slay the Leviathan.”

4) The amtrak incident (12K, by eiua) - NSFW

Relevant Ships/Tags: Viktor/Yuuri, Alternate Universe - College/University, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Breaking Up & Making Up 

I've recc'd this author before and it's probably only a matter of time before I go through their entire Dashboard, lol. They do such a great job of weaving in humor and little details into their writing that really makes whatever fic-verse they create come to life. This particular story is an AU featuring Viktor and Yuuri as academics/colleagues at MIT (architecture/urban planning), and a few months into a relationship. However, Viktor's unmanaged ADHD leads to conflict, and this fic features an absolutely brilliant depiction of how he has to take accountability for a mistake he makes, and apologize to Yuuri. The genuine respect they have for one another is so wonderful!

Oh, and it doesn't hurt that their make-up sex is mind-meltingly hot ;)

Excerpt: 

What about conferences? Is he supposed to just watch as Yuuri networks at the bar or run into each other around town and act as if they’re just passing acquaintances when they have, as Chris would joke, known each other biblically? Viktor has never been religious but it’s no understatement to say he could understand worship a whole lot better after sleeping with Yuuri.

And Yuuri is a terrible flirt when he’s drunk. Viktor knows this firsthand. Is Viktor supposed to just turn a blind eye to that and ignore the bile rising in his throat when he sees Yuuri be chummy with someone else? What if Yuuri visits UCLA and reconnects with his poledancing Russian ex-girlfriend and moves away?

Let’s just be friends. No, Viktor can’t just be friends with him, not when their dogs are playmates and Yuuri shares Viktor’s dream of high speed rail in America. Yuuri’s so sweet and sassy too, under all the shyness, and lights a fire in Viktor’s soul when he gets talking about what rail infrastructure would be most cost effective with federal funding.

5) Unstoppable (29K, by Red_Saga) 

Relevant Ships/Tags: Viktor/Yuuri, Post-Canon, Injury Recovery, Supportive Viktor Nikiforov 

This story will almost certainly make you cry, but I promise it'll feel cathartic. This is a post-canon fic (disclaimer, I'm not yet done with it, but have read over half), in which Yuuri suffers a major injury that completely alters his life and career. To be clear: I'm not talking about a sprained ankle or even a torn meniscus, but a spinal injury that puts him in a wheelchair for life. 

As you might expect, this fic details his injury recovery and the process of him coming to terms with/grieving the changes in his life. As someone with a disability, I can be pretty picky about stories in which it's a major topic, so I really appreciate the intentional way this story is written in regards to that; you won't find any trauma porn here. 

Excerpt (from Chapter 3):

Hiroko clicked her tongue. “When you come home, I will make you katsudon.”

Yuuri felt a twinge of some complicated emotion - anticipation, regret, grief, gratitude - that made him feel a bit dizzy for a moment. He wasn’t a skater anymore. The old rules about diet no longer mattered. He would never earn another bowl of katsudon. It was the feeling of one more anchor to his old life breaking free.

It must have showed on his face, because Viktor reached out to squeeze his hand and Hiroko tutted again. “Getting better so you can leave this place is victory enough, I think.”

Viktor brightened up. “That’s right! Yuuri, we need to think of other victories to celebrate!”

“Like escaping the clutches of the doctors?” Yuuri asked, half amused half quizzical.

“Like graduating from physical therapy,” Viktor suggested.

“Like watching someone skate a program you choreographed,” Hiroko added.

Yuuri gaped at her in surprise. Choreograph a program? He’d never thought about - never seriously considered - 

But Hiroko reached out and tapped his hand with a smile. “I see you doing this very often,” she said, and Yuuri realized he had been skating his fingers idly across the surface of his tray table, subconsciously marking out turns, glides, jumps, spins. She bent to pull something from the large bag at her feet (Yuuri’s mother  - always prepared) and handed him a notebook of blank paper and a pen. “But maybe it will work better if you write it down,” she suggested.

Yuuri clutched the notebook in fingers that felt suddenly too hot. He thought he was probably blushing. 

6) Body Electric (3K, by LadyMerlin) - NSFW

When an overstim scene is done RIGHT, I just....adfljkasdflkajlfkdf!! Combined with some expert dirty talk from Dom Yuuri, this fic is EVERYTHING. I'm sorry that I don't have anything that eloquent to say here...it's just THAT good, to the point where I felt like I was in a stupor upon finishing it, haha. 1) A Second Breath of Spring (11K, by ElvenQueen18) - WIP

Relevant Ships/Tags: Hatori/Kana, Amnesia, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Eventual Happy Ending

Hatori lovers, and Hatori/Kana shippers, I think you'd adore this WIP (currently at 4 chapters), because it features a divergence from canon in which Kana doesn't completely forget her memories with him. Of course, this makes for a very confusing/heartbreaking situation for her,  given that she doesn't realize that the "daydreams" she's having of Hatori aren't actually daydreams at all, but rather, are memories of their relationship prior to the confrontation with Akito. The story is beautifully written, and you really feel for Kana as she navigates doing her best to find love, while having to contend with her mind pining for a man that she doesn't realize she once loved/was in love with her

Excerpt (from Chapter 2):

She kissed Hatori for the second time today, sweet and tender and filled to overflowing with all the feelings she had finally expressed out loud and now knew he reciprocated. She pulled away after a moment, still cradling his face, and watched as, through tearful eyes, he gazed at her like she’d just given him the world.

A lump formed in Kana’s throat as she drew back from Daisuke, her eyes stinging horribly. So she couldn’t even kiss her new boyfriend without fantasizing about him. Daisuke, for his part, continued smiling, so he apparently failed to notice her current mood. Or maybe he thinks the sun’s bothering me, she thought as she blinked several more times. She could only hope, she supposed.

“I’ll see you soon,” he told her.

She forced out a hum of agreement before they exchanged farewell bows and went their separate ways for the evening. As she entered the building, rode the elevator to her floor, and opened the door to her one-room apartment, the stinging in her eyes grew worse.

2) Self Mutilator/Holic (5K, orphan account) - NSFW

I honestly don't even know where to begin with a blurb for this story; this is one of the most hauntingly beautiful fics I've ever read that touches upon Akito's relationship to gender. There are times when reading this doesn't even feel real, because the way the prose draws you in makes you feel like you're living out a horror movie (but in the very best way). I was enraptured the entire time I was reading.

Excerpt:

Back in her consciousness she sees a demon in a lair, hiding in the darkness and lying in wait. A demon with hair like an ink spill, shiny dark locks reflecting the pale sweet moonlight. 

She sees the demon in the shape of a woman, a beautiful woman with an ample bosom and an elegant shape, clad in a clinging gown the colour of nightshade. A demon with dark eyes that glimmer with mirth, and a twisted smile marring its face. 

Its laughter rings like a twinkling bell through the confines of the room, but it isn’t alone. 

The demons nails are filed sharp like talons, claws made to tear into vulnerable flesh, to shred and rip. A demon’s claws, made for killing and ruining. And yet, these clawed hands are cradling  ever so gently and sweetly—the head of the other Akito. 

The male Akito, who leans lovingly into the demon’s clutches. He’s laughing too, a dark, heaving laugh from the low caverns in his flat chest, a laugh that sounds beautiful along with the bright and high tone of the demon’s giggling.

On the Fruits Basket end, thanks to interest around this Reddit post I made 2 months ago, I began working on a fic in which Ayame & Ritsu team up to wreak havoc/a bit of harmless fun in Akito's life (as payback for her striking Yuki at the New Years' banquet). Honestly, I just really wish we'd seen more of the Sohmas use their zodiac forms to wrest some control over their lives, so this WIP is my way of making that scenario come to life. I probably won't be able to complete it anytime soon (I need to take a writing hiatus for a few months), but I'm excited about where it's going, nonetheless!

I’m CB, short for C. Brookes. I am 18 and in college pursuing a degree in English, with the hope of one day being an author! I use vae/vaer/vaer/vaers/vaerself (singular) and she/her. I also have ADD (attention deficit disorder), as well as anxiety and depression!

This is mainly a personal blog, but I also post about my writing! Mostly, I like to read and write fantasy. My main project is called Project Opal! To summarize: “Man flees assassination attempts. Friends pursue. Other friend flees unrelated assassination attempt. Hijinks ensue.”

Do you have any old art or comics you gave up on?

I have a lot of stories I gave up on because I had too many (20 if I recall right), but the ones I've kept/survived from my middle school story purge were Two Over A Kind, and Shadow Killed. However I have other stories that came after those two after I entered high school such as Mandela's Requiem, Backyard Thursday, Never So Norm, Collidests, and Rose Burnt, (yes I have a lot of stories, but they're not lore heavy so they might seem short/fast)

Although the only official rendition of a comic out right now would be Mandela's Requiem but I want to re-draw it in a different format similar to my ask blog @ask-the-druggieverse and what Homestuck uses because it's easier and I can gather all the images I draw and upload it YouTube for people to read

As for old art? oh geez I have a LOT of old art....

I'll put it under a read more and separate them by year U_U

Also blood warning (gore maybe too? not sure what to label it-) and huge and tiny spoilers for Mandela's requiem!!! (I just felt very proud of those drawings and I also can't help myself but show the future plans I have for MR's story!!) (and also characters that will appear in MR's epilogues!)

MR is like super/heavily inspired off of CRP characters, plus Ben Drowned was free game sense no one owned him (Nintendo technically own's this character legally but hey, fuck it we ball), and as for Casey I think you can guess who she's a walmart version of (Rina is completely original, I only added the "the killer" part cuz I thought it would be silly)

3rd: Backyard Thursday god silhouette list! I haven't fully drawn them out and needed some silhouette's to see how they would all look like!

4th: Mandela's Requiem epilogue Chester character sheet! I haven't touched this specific character sheet in a LONG time and need to come back to it as this story is one of the very few stories that has a small cast of characters to work on!!

5th: Slice Of Pieverse unified!Nightmare hehe ^w^ tiny spoilers: In SOPV fusion is a thing after the calamity happened (it's a split timeline of Underverse where Bill!Sans is a bit more important) although this isn't a "fusion" form, families (either blood related or adopted) don't fuse, they unify (essentially they can use each others abilities/their abilities become stronger)

3rd: My Danganronpa OC Yaku Unmei (or just Unmei) for a cancelled DGRP roleplay (I do not support the creator of the old roleplay. She intentionally or not has groomed minors into being desensitized to NSFW (I was already desensitized to it from the past but it's still fucked up) and wrote proship stuff.(I don't fucking care if it was for "accuracy" that shit was clearly a fetish. I can't believe your friends made me think for a second you weren't a groomer all because you have autism that's fucking insane.)) On a different note because I'm still not over that whole situation and person. (trauma response sorry) Unmei while being the ultimate unlucky student is one of the survivors of the killing game! If it was still ongoing... now she's just a DGRP OC that I might implement into one of my main stories

(NOTE: Barter is no longer a sans or an AU, he's just an OC that's in BT along with Fiddle(long story but after Fiddletale ends It's no longer an AU however people can still claim it as an AU IDC bc everyone's gonna get re-designs for BT so essentially they're separate characters in a way)), some changes between Bartertale!Barter and Backyard Thursday!Barter: AU: Cis Man, A Sans, Skeleton, Out!Code BT: Trans Man, Half-Human Half-Skeleton no undertale involved, just a regular citizen trapped in a country in a forever winter Also Fiddle and Barter are husbands in BT <3

5th: The very first drawing I've done for Collideists... Also fun fact: This story would have never been made if I never joined an event in a discord server I'm in where everyone was making these species called "Shadow Creatures" I chipped in and created a "Light Creature" concept and things went on from there

1st: Amari Feng, She's from my given up story called "A Fantasized Beginning", I gave up on this story because I had too many stories and this one just had too much stuff going on (In short: It's basically RWBY and MHA mixed into one, kids go to school to become pro-hero's in outer-space because an evil group known as "the dark entropy" were colonizing/taking over planets and the heros had no idea how they kept doing it, and then BOOM!!! PLOT FUCKING TWIST!!! the number 1 pro-hero was the one conducting the evil groups plans all along and the hero get's stopepd by the MC's, although the colonizing and taking over doesn't stop as more villains pop up and hero's continue being hero's but this time the hero's have a easier time saving everyone) I made this story when I was in middle school along with many others, although after I did my story purge the only two stories that survived were Shadow Killed and Two Over A Kind (TOAK had a massive story overhaul and is not like it's OG plotline) I don't have plans to go back to this story, however I might if I complete all of my stories before I die, which I'm sure I will because I'm shortening a lot of them, and if I do I will DEF shorten AFB by a lot because middle school me planned like 16 something seasons (jesus.) (Also Amari was not the MC but an antagonist that later becomes an MC and was heavily inspired off of Himiko Toga(Can you tell?))

2nd: Heh... My first attempt at lineless art.... This is also back when Blipthyn was blue and was named Blueprint, I do not like TOAK's 5th rendition of a story as I was going through a hard time and heavily trauma dumped the shit out of that specific rendition of TOAK and just scrapped a lot of it, only a few things I liked survived in the current 6th? 7th? version of the story and I plan to keep it that way unless it becomes too long in my eyes

3rd: THE CTT!!! CHAOS TIME TRIO!!! Also my fist art/was around the time I met my friends Keter and Geno in the lunime discord server! we all loved undertale at this time and formed this group, a lot of things changed about each character so these are their old/beta designs, however this piece still has a place in my heart because of how special it is to me :hearts:

4th: I'm gonna be for real with you I have no fucking clue who this was for These aren't my characters nor do I remember the person who created these OC's, I do know I was very proud of this drawing because I made the other person super happy, I just dunno who it was so if by any chance you're the creator of these characters hi!!! :3

1st: Laim! he's also from another cancelled story called 12-15-22-5, or also known as 12-15-22-5 Project: Life this story was a romance between a resurrected angel heading and a human, the resurrected angel's goal from the company he was revived from was to find a way to break someone's heart/love to the point of dying so that they could kill a god (for some reason?? my middle school self never really specified why) However things backfire as the resurrected Angel falls in love with the love interest (heh... not straight BTW...) and other resurrected angels are sent after him and his friends because it'll "sabotage" their plan, I never planned an ending for this story but I do remember that this story was inspired off of HXH and Four Leaf on webtoon

2nd: I'm gonna be so fr I don't know why I made this character (his name is Phrog)

3rd: Ian and Damien's first ever design <33 And also Shadow Killed's first ever concept art! their designs have been changed by now so yeah :(, in fact this art was made back when I was beginning to feel happy again, although that died out because Middle School was super rough for me.

4th: Ah yes.... DSMP.... Beeduo.... and... MICHEAL!!! (This was back when the DSMP was at it's prime from my knowledge... augh...) I'm gonna so fr with you I never saw Michael (Beeduo's adopted child) as white I'm so sorry, I always viewed Michael as black I don't know why I did I just did XP, no hate to anyone who views Michael as white, I just never saw it myself This isn't ship art btw. What is a "bad idea?"

It's whatever you want it to be! The "[blank] Life, but _" format works really well for series concepts as a whole, but "bad headcanons" are welcome too! Go wild, friends <3

"Someone already sent in my same idea! Can I submit it again?"

Sure!! Most of the time, I won't even realize it's been said before. This blog has been going for so long now and I have bigger priorities, I won't penalize you for sending in a "repeat" ask :)

(There is also the #additions tag for adding onto specific ideas, although it isn't used very consistently. If you would like your ask to be added to a previous post instead, just ask!)

"What does the queue look like for this blog?"

Currently, it posts 3 times per day, and there's about ~250 posts in the backlog waiting to be posted (as of late January.)

For complicated personal reasons (but mostly me being a busy uni student), that most likely won't be drastically changing anytime soon. I don't get around to stocking this blog very often and I would rather have it be slow and consistent than have random bursts of activity then silence. I know this is frustrating for people, but this is my personal passion project, and I don't want to needlessly stress myself out over something I started for fun :)

Probably still in the askbox! Very rarely do I actually delete asks, I promise I don't cherrypick the ideas I like and discard the rest. But since I know the wait is frustrating, this is my policy to deal with it:

If you've sent in an idea and it hasn't posted yet, you can send me an ask describing your idea and ask to have it moved up in the queue. You can also send in a separate ask when submitting an idea if you want to have it posted sooner rather than later.

(If your idea is connected to recent events in smps, etc it will most likely be moved up anyway so it posts while still "relevant," although this is somewhat limited to my familiarity with the event. It never hurts to ask!)

I've actually done this before, but decided I'd update it a bit.

cherrivel is only there because of the need for velvette to have someone at the hotel to be obsessed with, refer to this post. it is currently unserious and could easily never come up in my posts I just thought to include it because of that one time I brought it up. other crackships may come up if I find it funny (ie adam x mammon).

this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, I do not like any reciprocated romantic alastor ships, I'm not here to police anyone for what they do in fanon, but all I ask is no one send me anything of the sort. I interpret alastor as a repulsed aroace, and the dialogue in which his asexuality is implied in canon implies to me he would never pursue dating (rosie knows alastor wouldn't be dating charlie because he is aroace, which implies she knows he is an aroace that doesn't date**). so that is how I choose to portray alastor in my posts.

**TO BE CLEAR, there IS nuance to this. because action =/= attraction. funny situations such as a fake date with vox as a distraction that he doesn't like at ALL entertain me. but I do not believe he is the type to pursue it under normal circumstances.

regarding qprs... well, as you can see, I really only care for qpr radiorose, but this is the part where it comes down to personal preference. qpr radiostatic largely depends for me, maybe if it's like an au where they never had a falling out or something but otherwise, I don't personally really see it, but that isn't to judge anyone who does. HOWEVER, I do like thinking about their past friendship, here's a post I made before regarding alastor's side on it.

Why don't you use RadioSilence for one-sided RadioStatic?

radio silence is the name of another book made by the author of heartstopper, alice oseman (which I heard also has a canon aspec character!). even though it is already a used tag for this ship, I refuse to contribute to flooding the book tag with hazbin hotel. it's already an issue I see even when searching #radio silence with the space, I think those in that fandom should be allowed to search for content without being flooded by content from another fandom. please understand.

I instead use #onewaybroadcast in accordance with this poll. I still use the regular #radiostatic and #staticradio tags in addition to it for more reach and because vox's side still technically counts under it, if anyone doesn't like specifically one-sided radiostatic for whatever reason, they may filter out the specific tag or block me.

Why haven't you answered my ask?

you see. once upon a time I used to answer every ask in my askbox. but then trying to come up with intelligent responses to every single ask was kind of draining so I gave up on that. so nowadays I just answer whatever I feel like, if you don't see your ask answered for a while it may still be answered later cause I do go back to old asks sometimes (and sometimes I just forget about asks I'd wanted to answer before). currently my askbox stands at 180ish unanswered asks going back to as early as end of february, that's how much I kinda just gave up trying to clear my askbox. DON'T be discouraged from sending new asks though! I'm actually more likely to answer new ones that I'm able to form a response for immediately.

Here's a fun little fact about me, in relations to fandom. And maybe this post might come off a little arrogant or overly confident, perhaps that's why it's only been on the back of my mind for the past two months or so. But I wanted to put it into words, so here we go.

I think most people have various degrees of approaching media - do you just watch it, do you then read posts about it, do you engage in fandom creations for it (fics, art, GIFs), do you create for this fandom. There's different degrees to creating too, of course. For me, at least.

Sometimes, I might like something and find joy in creating a single work for it, throw that into the fandom abyss and move on to the next thing that catches my attention. Other times, it'll hold my attention longer, make me create a couple things, but it's not... an overly deep investment.

And sometimes I sink my teeth into it.

It's funny, I really do think that back in 2014, when I first discovered Teen Wolf, I wasn't wholly ready - or confident enough - to do that. I did have the investment, the interest, the love for it, I was salivating at it. But big, established fandoms are... scary. Intimidating. So I just threw a few things into the abyss every time the obsession flared up.

I sank my teeth into Nico/Percy, in the Percy Jackson fandom, back in 2010. It was a small fandom back then and an even smaller ship with only a handful of fics on FFNet and LiveJournal mostly. So when I fell in love with the ship, there wasn't really an intimidation factor there, even though I was fully new to writing English fics. I liked it, and I decided that it'd be mine now. So I made it mine.

Now, when I say "mine", I don't mean that I want to be like the only person creating for it? Or influencing how it's shipped? That wouldn't appeal to me, I do want to read fics I haven't written myself. Obviously. And especially as someone who started obsessively writing for this ship in particular because I didn't like the fandom domineering portrayal of them, I would never want to make that either, I want people who have different interpreations to still find them. When I say "mine", I mean more... that I want to leave my mark on the ship. It's not just mine, but it is also mine.

I think I can confidently say that I did that with Nico/Percy. I wrote 330 fics for them, that's a 10th of all fics in the tag on AO3 at this point (and it fucking delights me how much this ship blew up over the past decade and a half since I started writing for it). Every 10th fic you encounter on AO3 involving this ship was written by me. If you ship them, you have come across me, I made myself an inevitability in this fandom, even beyond the Nico/Percy tag. I left my mark all over this fandom and in so many ship tags. If you are in this fandom, you've come across me, whether you like it or not (and believe me I am aware of the people who do not like it).

And then I sank my teeth into Magnus/Alec/Jace in Shadowhunters, in 2017. And with 103 fics, I wrote nearly a fourth of all fics in their ship tag. I decided that's mine, and I made it mine. Granted, everything much more smaller skale than PJO, obviously, the fandom itself included.

Coming back into Teen Wolf in 2024, I'm a more confident writer and I proved to myself that I can hold my own. Big fandoms don't intimidate me the same way they used to.

So I sank my teeth into Chris/Peter/Stiles.

I wrote 39 fics for this ship in the past six months alone. That's not overly much considering the size of the ship tag, but for the short few months I invested in it so far, it does amount to a bit, in my opinion at least. And I am so, so, so far from done. There are so many more stories yet to come.

I've decided that this ship is mine now.

In the Percy Jackson fandom, I didn't do it on purpose. It just kind of... happened. I started writing and I just never stopped and suddenly a decade later I had over 600 PJO fics under my belt and posted in the majority of Percy-involving ship tags. This time, I'm doing it on purpose.

And it's funny, because the big fandom that used to intimidate me a decade ago and made me not dare to write a lot now fuels me into writing all the more. I want to leave my mark all over it. I want to make it mine. I will make myself an inevitablity all over again and I am doing it cackling with glee because it's a fucking joy.

Alright, with some help from @anger-ey (thanks again for the help ^o^), I think I finally have the answer to where this came from.

SO, it looks like this "fact" was originally on Kliff's page on the Metronomik wiki as unsourced trivia. Back then, it seems like the site was prone to people just writing whatever they wanted, so I guess I read it there first and internalized it as a fact.

(Even though when I first posted about it, I acknowledged that it wasn't said on record, so *that's* the part that I forgot.)

So, early on in this fandom's history, my "job" was essentially collecting trivia for the game. If you look at some of my oldest posts tagged "NSR," that's mostly what you'll find in between the bad fanart. Character trivia gleaned from dev livestreams, details about certain bugs or rare events, etc. As such, I have a good chunk of knowledge about incidental details about the game.

However, there's some trivia in my brain that says, "Kliff was lightly modeled after Dio Brando from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure." but I don't have a source for that, and it's not written in any of the trivia posts I've made before.

I have 0 interest in Jojo, so I don't think it's something I would have observed and concluded for myself. It's also somewhat supported by the fact that there are other Jojo references present in NSR, (like Retdex's sprite pose, and Zuke's pants pattern). I am 90% certain that someone, somewhere, officially said that, but I can't remember who or where.

Can anybody verify that for me, or did I really convince myself that this was true based on literally nothing?

From now on, this is where I'll post all artwork and posts pertaining to my wip light novel series, There Are No "Good Guys."

First things first, let's clear some things up:

As this series is still a work in progress, everything posted here is officially not canon. Just so we don't cause any confusion.

"Guys" in the title does not refer to men specifically. It's gender-neutral. It's a play on the terms "good guys" and "bad guys" often used to describe the good and evil characters in a story. (It also is based on the lyric of a song that heavily inspired the book's themes).

There Are No "Good Guys" is meant to be kept in a PG-13/PG-14 rating. Some sensitive topics will be discussed.

So what is There Are No "Good Guys"?

There are No "Good Guys" is a light novel series I've been working on for the past 2 years (it's going to be VERY long and I've been mostly working on planning, developing characters, and fleshing out worldbuilding.) It's had multiple drafts so far, but is still a long way from being published.

The title is a reference to a line in a song called "We Just Disagree".

The story is set in a world where villains had taken over the world and made it so MOST crimes were legal. Heroes still exist but not they aren't what they used to be (more on that later).

The story mainly follows the Angler siblings, Marcus and Bonnie who recently lost their single father in a villain attack. Marcus's favorite hero had deliberately chosen not to do anything to stop it. The siblings are invited to join the "Vigilante's Association" often misnamed as the "Villain's Association" by "heroes" who work to keep the order while still following the villains rules (basically to keep them from getting too much public support).

The VA exists to keep people safe. They mainly only get involved in villain attacks if it's something that brings harm to the innocent. Marcus and Bonnie end up joining and moving in with the VA. From this point on the story kind of has a more episodic feel and focuses on the characters and their world. While Marcus and Bonnie get primary focus, most of the cast take turns telling different chapters. I'm trying to have my story discuss topics of morality, media literacy, and activism.

In a cubical in an office building in a crowded city, you blinked tiredly at the computer screen in front of you. It was pouring down rain outside; it had been all week. The pattering outside, mixed with the many nights of insomnia, was slowly putting you to sleep. That was until the alarm signaled the end of the workday.

Immediately, the sound of dozens of fingers tapping on keyboards halted and was replaced with the owners standing and promptly leaving.

In your cubicle, you stretched your fingers while you waited for the flood of people to exit the building before you did. You had started this tradition to avoid the awkward social interaction that came with parting with your coworkers.

"We're going to the bar. Care to join?"

"No, thank you,"

"Alright, see you Monday."

"See you then."

"Good-bye,"

"Good-bye."

No. You hated small talk and preferred to stay a few minutes later and clean your desk than speak with your coworkers. But then there was always that one very different coworker.

Why he even worked an office job, you didn't know. For a long time, the two of you never spoke, his sly and confident exterior was new and foreign to you. You'd only ever read about characters like him, and while it intrigued you, it also scared you.

So for a long time, you kept your distance. But, what you didn't know was that while your eyes were avoiding him, his were glued to you.

Ajax told you that he started the job simply because if he didn't find something that paid better than his last, he'd be kicked out of his apartment. It wasn't exactly ideal, sitting at a desk all day, but work is work.

It took him a month before he even met you at work. The office space was large, and the cubicles were high, and that offered minimal social opportunities. In fact, he probably never would have even met you if he didn't accidentally fall asleep at his desk and miss the alarm.

He awoke like a hurricane and scrambled out of the now dark office, trying to smooth out his wrinkled shirt and disheveled hair, quickly inserting himself into the elevator that just happened to be open. The one with you in it.

You pressed yourself into the farthest corner, hoping that if you kept to yourself, you might avoid conversation with this loud and intimidating man. You'd never been so close to him, blinding you to how tall he really is.

Ajax stared at you. He's never seen you before, and it intrigued him.

"Hello," Ajax's voice sounded through the enclosed space of the gray elevator. This ride has felt ten times longer than it usually takes, equally awkward for both of them. "I haven't met you yet, I don't think."

You knew it. You knew he was going to say something- it just wasn't in his DNA to shut up for any extended period of time. You panicked.

"I've seen you before."

Why. Did. You. Say. That.

Ajax stared briefly, opening his mouth to say something, but you spoke first.

"I-I'm sorry," You stuttered. "I mean, I've seen you before, but I haven't had the chance to introduce myself."

Ajax laughed. You were quite literally trembling with shyness as you held your bag as close to your person as possible. Whatever fingers weren't clutching your bag were playing idly with the buttons on your white collared shirt, drawing his eyes briefly to your chest and further drawing you in on yourself.

"It's no problem," he said, focusing his gaze back on your eyes. "I'm Ajax."

"I'm-" the doors to the elevator opened and revealed the empty and bland ground floor of your shared office building. "My name is y/n."

With a grin, Ajax stepped out of the elevator. The two of you walked outside together, stopping under the balcony that protected you from the pouring rain. The sun had long since set and left the parking lot wet and dark, only illuminated by streetlights and passing drivers. You sighed. It wasn't raining when you got here this morning, so you didn't bring a jacket. You should've known better, it always rains in this city. Ajax did.

"Did you drive here?" Ajax asked.

You shook your head. "No, I took the subway."

"Cool, me too. I'll walk with you."

Before you could protest, he took off his jacket, draped it over your shoulders, and pushed you out into the rain. The two of you ran the entire way to the substation, lucky that it was a short distance from work. Once underneath the safety of the dry subway station, Ajax adjusted the coat until it sat comfortably on your shoulders and took his hands off you. You don't believe you've ever been touched so much by what was practically a stranger. Yet, somehow, you didn't mind it.

The two of you took different trains because you both live on opposite sides of the town, and after that, he created two new traditions for you. One where he would pay you a visit when he clocked in and one where he walked you to the station every night. He would be the only one talking some nights, but you were happy to listen. Ajax's sudden, if not pushy, friendship revealed to you just how lonely you truly were.

Your entire life, you have gone without any real friends, opting to bond with animals or keep your brain busy with books. Ajax was like a breath of fresh, new air. Something you never knew you were missing.

Soon enough, the two of you were going to dinner together while your coworkers met at bars. Most of the time, it was the local diner, but occasionally for special days such as holidays or days when you would get pay raises, he would take you to a fancy high-end restaurant. No matter where the two of you ate, he always paid.

You met eyes with Ajax's as you peeked over your cubical walls. You had heard his voice radiate throughout your office as he laughed heartily with your fellow coworkers. He stood by the coffee maker, idly stirring a cup that steamed in his hand, when his eyes shifted and met yours. Immediately, your heart lept as if it were acting on its own. He gave you a broad smile, successfully turning your cheeks red and hot. Retreating quickly, you hid behind your cubical.

Alas, your half-hearted attempt to hide from Ajax failed as he poked his head around the corner. "What are you doing?" he laughed, making your cheeks burn brighter.

"Nothing," you replied. You eyed the cup of coffee in his hand and quickly changed the subject. "Where's mine?"

Ajax's eyes flitted to the cup before setting it down on your desk. "Didn't know you drank coffee!"

You didn't. And you felt that he knew you didn't and was testing you, so you took the cup and drank just to prove him wrong. Burning water flooded your mouth as you choked back a gag at the bitter taste. Was this idiot drinking straight black coffee!?

Setting the cup back on your desk, you coughed into your arm and fanned your mouth, desperately trying to find some relief from the sweltering heat. Ajax simply laughed and took his cup back. "Too bitter? I do have to say I make mine a bit different at home."

You waved him away, reaching for a water bottle from your bag. "You're a jerk."

"Maybe." He took a swig and sighed, completely unfazed and definitely rubbing it in. "Anyways, I didn't come over here to torture you. I have a new destination for dinner tonight."

"And where would that be?" You asked, fumbling with the cap of your bottle.

"My apartment."

You involuntarily squeezed the water bottle, sending water onto your lap. "Your apartment?" you parrotted.

"Yeah! I wanted to make you dinner this time. I've got an old recipe from my grandma that I used to have all the time when I was a kid, and I wanted to share it with you!"

This would be the first time you visit Ajax's apartment. You've fantasized about his apartment, how it may look, and how it would smell. This idea frightened and excited you. Thoughts of how you would look inside it and what that would lead to crossed your mind as well. Those fantasies were spawned from the recent after-work dinners loaded with tension, especially after what happened just the night before.

Ajax held the umbrella he had the foresight to bring along as the two of you walked to the train station from your dinner date. With a firm tug, Ajax pulled you closer underneath the umbrella with him. "You're getting soaked," he said. And when you began to protest, he smiled at your defiance. "No need to be shy. I brought this for the both of us."

He had you squeezed underneath the small span of the portable shelter, leaving little room for personal space, and you squished against his chest, and while you didn't want to give up so quickly, you did enjoy the intimacy of it all. As your feet struggled to keep up with his brisk pace, you gazed up at him, a hand placed on his chest. Ajax met you with his dark blue eyes. You expected his signature devilish grin, or maybe for him to stick out his tongue or comment on how small you were compared to him like he usually does- but he didn't.

Instead, his pace slowed ever so slightly, pink slowly spreading across his cheeks. His lips parted, and you expected words, but nothing came out. The look in his eyes sent shivers down your back and butterflies into your chest, absentmindedly making you clutch his shirt. You only noticed your grip tightening because of his reaction. He winced and let out a short, sharp breath, breaking the prolonged eye contact. You quickly let go.

Soon enough, the two of you were parting at the train station. As you cast your gaze over your shoulder to see Ajax one more time before you left, you saw him watching you, face still covered in a light blush as you boarded.

"Sounds like a plan," you said. "As long as you promise your coffee preparing skills don't overlap with your cooking!"

Ajax laughed and brushed a finger across your cheek as he walked back to his cubical. A simple action that rendered you useless for the rest of the day.

Do you make your bed? Not usually, but oddly enough I did during covid. Something about doing it then made sense to me but I haven't really thought about it. And then I did it when my ex used to nag me about it. I do it sometimes.

What's your job? Unemployed. Would like to be employed but refuse to work a job I hate unless I have no other option. The stress of my last job sucked bad. I help my family though (parents and sister), and there's a lot to do. My dad does absolutely everything and he's 70, so you know. Shit will be changing sooner than later.

Go back to school? I'm not ruling it out.

Can you parallel park? I can. It's weird too, because the first time I ever did it was completely out of necessity and it was a dark night and it was a really small space too. I couldn't believe it when I did it the first time. And I don't consider myself that good of a driver.

Job you had that would surprise people? I guess the most surprising maybe is call center supervisor for eharmony. Or Blockbuster? I dunno.

Aliens real? I feel like the scope of the universe makes this a certainty and it amazes me how many people think it's a ridiculous idea. Talk about main character syndrome!

Can you drive stick? I never had the means to even learn

Guilty pleasure? Eating stuff I know I'm not supposed to (very sparingly!)

Tattoos? no but I think about it sometimes. I feel like I'd get sick of it no matter what it was.

Fave color? too many. earthtones and ryb are up there.

Fave type of music? probably all the stuff in the post-punk/new wave/no wave/power pop sphere. I'm picky about metal, but when I like something I like it a lot. Also been finding out there's a fair amount of rap stuff I dig. I really like soul and funk music and some oldies (50s & 60s, not modern oldies which are 80s).

Do you like puzzles? Word/mind shit, trivia, board games, etc. Yeah I love Jeopardy and I subscribe to NYT games. I do the crosswords, wordle, strands, spelling bee, and connections games every day. I also like nonagrams and I'll do a sudoku once in a while.

Phobias? just making it in the world, especially when my parents are gone. My parents getting sick and/or dying. Climate change causing a global food supply collapse in my lifetime. The U.S. falling fully into fascism. Basically things that are all certain to happen sooner or later

Favorite childhood sport? Basketball and baseball. Never liked playing soccer or football.

Talk to yourself? Yeah mostly when I'm irritated about something.

Movies you adore? Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Evil Dead II, Speed Racer, Starship Troopers, Black Christmas, Bad Santa, My Cousin Vinny, Tremors, Gremlins 2, Better Off Dead, Big Trouble In Little China, Boxer's Omen, Terrorvision, etc

Coffee or Tea? both, but mostly coffee. I tried chai tea recently though and I like it a lot.

1st thing you wanted to be when grew up? The way my mind is, I didn't really think about things this way. All I remember desiring as a kid about being an adult was being on even ground with other adults and being given basic respect instead of being treated like a little kid. Like I wanted to sit on the couch and have my feet touch the floor. I wondered what my face would look like as an adult. The idea of a far off future job was irrelevant to me.
