I DID A BUNCH OF ABBY PEN DOODLES IN CLASS TODAY!

OMG OMG OMG! I LOVE drawing Abby SO much. Her design is just so fun (I'm worried it will be a PAIN to animate someday tho T_T but I just love to draw her this way.)

The first doodle is of a random character disregard (though that design ended up affecting some of Abby's human design sketches).

Abby is one of the few NGG characters I can draw from MEMORY. (The others being Bonnie, Marcus, Iris, and Drake). Probably because they are some of the oldest characters who haven't changed too much. (Devinchi's hair is really complicated, and Mary had a total redesign recently and I'm still getting used to it.) Enough about that though... just keep in mind that like all of these are off model without reference so they might be a bit off.

I recently have seen a lot of people drawing Amanda from Amanda the Adventurer with her hair down and it honestly made me wanna try and draw Abby in human form with her hair down too. I'm still learning how to draw this kind of hair type, if you have any tips let me know because it's a little confusing to me, super fun to draw tho. I'm currently trying to figure out how hair length changes between when the hair is braided and when it's not... though that's something I struggle with for all hair types. (Hair can be SO confusing, but SO fun to draw).

I might change Abby's fear of furry animals to just being afraid of dogs just to simplify it. She's completely fine with reptiles though. I've never actually designed her mom so I kind of just doodled whatever came to mind. That's what I love about pen doodles. mistakes don't matter and you can try new things out with no pressure! Anyway now that I'll be mostly doodling from now on (I doodle in class to help me focus) you may see a ton more of Abby cuz I love to draw her so much!

Here's some details and headcanons for my "Child of Sun Wukong and Macaque!Yuu AU" ! ^^

->Yu’s personnality in the AU: 

-unlike canon!Yuu this Yuu is more asertive, she got a strongheaded and extravertite personnality and take no shit from those around her.

-Can be very snarky when provocked.

-Is very friendly and easy going and is very tactil with those who are close to her.

-Like to use her shadow habilities to prank others.

-Yu’s appearance: Yu had a dark brown fur with a peach colored skin, she had six ears which she got from Macaque, her eyes are golden just like her parents’s and her face mark is a mix of her parents’s marks and is light pink.

-Yu’s abilities: Thanks to her parents training her, Yu is pretty strong and share some of her parents’s abilities, however in TSWT, because of her strengh, she most of the time stay in the sidelines and give strategic guidelines to the others during fights against overblots, much to her annoyance, ‘cause with her level, there’s high risk she end up killing the overblots which is not the goal.

->Yu’s relationship with the TWST characters through the AU:

-Grim: -Thought he was a very annoying cat when she first meet him but grown fond of him with time.

-Yu always do her best to descipline Grim and keep him out of trouble, feel sometime like she was a mother trying to make her child behave and wonder if she also give a hard time to her parents when she was younger.

-Use often Grim’s glutonnery against him, for example, Yu always keep on her tuna cans to bride Grim.

-Grim always call Yu his enchwoman only to be constently corrected by an annoyed Yu.

-Grim is the first one in NRC to learn more about Yu’s homeworld and family.

-Yu often use her shadows to catch Grim whenever the cat is wandering off from her sight.

-Crowley: -Yu doesn’t really had a lot of respect for Crowley, especially with the fact he take his sweet time to find a way to send her back to her world.

-Ace: -Prank victim N°1.

-Is the first one in NRC who named Yu Mei Xing with the nickname “Yu”.

-When Ace made fun of her the first time they met, Yu roasted him to the point Ace was silenced in embarrassment.

-Is often scoled by Yu whenever he is being an idiot.

-Had often sleepovers at Ramshackle with the rest of the first years squad after he became friend with Yu.

-Became one of Yu's closest friends in NRC despite their rocky start.

-Deuce: - Prank victim N°2.

-Kind of remind Yu of her baba's/mama's(Sun Wukong) story(Aka rowdy troublemaker who then worked hard to be a better person).

-Is often exasperated by his habit to be dragged into Ace's and Grim's BS.

-Became one of Yu's closest friends in NRC.

-When he first met Yu, Deuce was very nervous since he doesn't know how/what to talk with women.

-Riddle: -Yu didn't like him at first, to her he was a bossy and bratty rules obsessed peacock and this opinion didn't go better through the Heartslabyul arc.

-When she learn about Riddle's abusive home lire, while she does feel sorry for him she agreed with Ace that Riddle's home life wasn't an excuse for his horrible behavior.

-Yu nearly have gone berserk when Riddle insulted her family at the unbirthday party until the dorm leader got punched by Ace.

-Comforted him despite being angry against him when she got dragged in his overblot memories.

-Riddle felt very guilty afterward for how he behaved toward Tu and when he appologied Yu decided to forgive him in the "forgive but not forget" way and to give him a chance.

-Both became more friendly toward each other after the Heartslabyul arc.

-Trey: -Yu like him, she find him nice and like to hang out with him.

-Love his pastries and cakes, especially the peach flavored ones.

-Was not impressed by his enabler behavior in the Heartslabyul arc.

-Called him out on his enabling of Riddle's behavior like "True friends's duty is to calling their friends out when they are out of line not to encouraging into bad behavior!".

-Was very worried about him when he got hurt in the Savanaclaw arc.

-Cater: -Like him a lot and find him fun to hang out with.

-Remind Yu a lot of Mei.

-Like to take photos with him.

-Found funny how Ace, Deuce and Grim fall for Cater's trick into making them painting the roses instead of him.

-Leona: -When they first met, Leona wasn't as rude toward Yu as he was in the twst canon since he was raised to be respectful toward women.

-Leona saw Yu at first as a "little monkey herbivore" but get more respect for her when she talk back to him and show he doesn't intimidated her at all.

-The two became friendly Rivals After Tu and the others saved him from his overblot accident.

-Convinced Leona to help them in the Octavinelle arc by annoying him and keep him from sleeping at night with her shadow abilities.

-Jack: -Respect Jack's honorable nature and competitive side a lot.

-Like to do friendly challenges with him.

-Ruggie: -Managed to caugh him in the Savanaclaw arc with her shadow abilities when he try to run away with the sandwich je stole and trick him into giving the sandwich back by trading it with a more deliscious looking dishes she discretly created with one of her hair.

-Jade and Floyd: -Remind Yu a lot of Jin and Yin.

-Is not intimidated by the twins's antics especially Floyd's.

-Floyd call her "Sea Monkey" and like to hold her, "squeeze her" and commenting on how small she is, much to Yu's annoyance.

-Azul: -Yu had mixed feelings about him.

-During the Octavinelle arc, Azul not only tried to take Ramshackle from her with his contrats but also tried to make her his "girlfriend/fiancee" when he learn she was a princess back in her world.

-If after the Octavinelle arc Yu and Azul are on more friendly term, she however know to stay a bit wary toward him when it came to making deals.

-Kalim: -See him as an adorable ball of sunshine.

-Create with time a siblings dynamic.

-Jamil: -Noticed he was more than "simple average" and after the Scarabia arc "encouraged him" in her own way to "stand out more".

-Epel: -Support him with his desire to be more tough and sportive and talk to him about some people from her world who are very strong despite not being physically buffet(ex: Nezha).

-Rook: -Find him a bit wierd, she doesn't hate the guy and know he doesn't mean any harm but the fact she became one of the students he is "following around"(*cough*stalking*cough*) made her a bit disturbed.

-Vil: -Had a lot of respect for Vil's acting skills.

-During the Pomefiore arc Yu wondered if Vil wasn't a demon in disguise with how ruthless he could get.

-Idia: -Didn't really know him at first since Idia is not a social person.

-After the Ignihyde arc the two get to bond through video games.

-During the Ignihyde arc Yu felt very bad for Idia and his loss of his brother.

-Ortho: -Yu like him very much and think hé IS an adorable and nice kid.

-Malleus: -See him as one of her best friends.

-Yu is not fazed by the fact Malleus is one of the strongest mages existing(I mean let's not forget who her family is! X) ), especially when she knex that Malleus is a sweet guy.

-Make sure to invite him as much as possible much to Malleus's joy.

-Both get a crush on each other with time.

-Lilia: -Yu doesn't really know what to think of him, on one hand he is nice but on the other hand he give her the feeling he is more than meet the eye.

-Silver: -Find him nice to hang out with.

-Sebek: -While she respect his anthousiasm and fidelity to Malleus Yu find him VERY loud.

->Ships: Malleus x Yu, Sadowpeach(Sun Wukong x Macaque), Spicynoodles(MK x Red Son)(optional), Freenoodles(Pigsy x Tang)(optional), DBK x PIF, other ships are up to whoever who use this AU! ^^

I just wanna ramble about her

She will receive a courtesy name. It's uncommon for girls to have them but Jiang Cheng insisted that if she's going to be his heir, no one will disrespect her by using her given name. His plan at first when Wei Wuxian returned, just a few months after he finally made up his mind that Jiang Xie will be his successor, was to ask him to name his kid. Actually, he only thought of giving Jiang Xie a courtesy name when Wei Wuxian returned. Maybe two babies named by him will bring him back to the Jiang, back to Jiang Cheng. (If not then... Three times the charm, and A-Xie has been asking for a baby brother anyway—)

And then the golden core reveal happened, and the whole repaying debts and leaving the past in the past are said. Regardless of the feelings of abandonment Jiang Cheng might have felt about that, It's awkward to ask someone who said all those, "hey, can you pick my daughter's courtesy name?"

The name picking doesn't come up again until Jin Ling asks him if he's planning to give Jiang Xie a courtesy name. Jiang Cheng, remembering his plan that never came to be, tries to dismiss Jin Ling's question. A-Xie is just turning six. She'll get her courtesy name at 15, there's no need to pick it yet. Jin Ling argues that he got his picked out before he was even born so what's wrong with picking Jiang Xie's name now. (A detail he never told Jin Ling so clearly the kid had been spending some time with Wei Wuxian.) Then Jin Ling dares to ask why Jiang Cheng made Wei Wuxian choose his courtesy name. Instead of answering that question, Jiang Cheng admits that he was planning to ask Wei Wuxian to pick Jiang Xie's courtesy name, too.

He asks Jin Ling to pick his cousin's courtesy name. As if to divert his nephew's attention from that revelation.

Jin Ling advocates for the reconciliation between his maternal uncles. The more Wei Wuxian tells him of their past and now, with his jiujiu's admission that he cares for Wei Wuxian as much as he did in the past (enough to ask Wei Wuxian to pick his daughter's courtesy name) the more convinced he is that they should reconcile, it would be good for them to. Wei Wuxian picking Jiang Xie's courtesy name could make it happen. But dammit, Jin Ling started this very conversation hoping to ask his Jiujiu to be given the honor of picking his cousin's courtesy name. He had thought of what name she deserves and fits her most since he found out where the name Rulan came from. So Jin Ling will handle his uncles' reconciliation another time, in another way.

He names her Baolian, Precious Lotus.

Jiang Cheng, of course, comments on how on the nose the name is, Lotus Pier's only heir— its young mistress, being named BaoLian.

Jin Ling reminds him that it was him who said that Jiang Xie is born from a lotus flower. He's never gonna let his uncle live it down. It was a disaster, Jiang Xie's vigilant protection of the lotuses. Jin Ling remembers how it got worse, the Senior Jiang disciples corroborating his Jiujiu's joke about A-Xie being found in a flower. They said it was because Jiujiu got blacklisted by the matchmakers and the entire Yunmeng Jiang's worry for an heir brought Jiang Xie to them. The people in the market outside who heard of the hilarity happening chimed in and said Jiang Xie was born out of their love for Sect Leader Jiang.

BaoLian is perfect, as far as Jin Ling is concerned.

Jiang Cheng has his apprehensions but he gave Jin Ling this honor and he isn't about to revoke it. Anyway, Jiang Xie isn't even in double digits yet, Jin Ling can still think of a different name if ever.

(years later, on Jiang Baolian's 15th birthday, Wei Wuxian finds out that it could've been him who named his niece. He has many feelings about this revelation. To cover it up, he elects to whine about it and call Jin Ling a naming rights thief.)

As a child, she didn't think much about her situation. She is her A-Die's daughter and she is loved. She has it better than most. Heck! She has it better than A-Ling! What's there to complain about?

But then she grew and gained enough brain cells to think beyond the facts about her being found at the gates that day. Someone must've placed her there. Abandoned her. She consoles herself by thinking that whoever her mother was, she must've intended for her daughter to live a good life. She's bold enough to lie and say that the baby is the Sect Leader's illegitimate child after all. She must've had a good reason. There must be a good reason.

Sometimes the fact that she was abandoned weighs on her though. She consoles herself by thinking that A-Die and Ling-ge want her here. Otherwise she wouldn't have them at all. There were bouts of time when she'd just go to Jiang Cheng and insist on staying by his side because she's feeling things about her origin and feeling insecure of her place in the tiny Jiang family. Sometimes, she wishes to believe that she was indeed born from a lotus out of Yunmeng Jiang's concern and love for her A-Die.

When Jiang Cheng finds out about this, he officially names her his heir. There! He seemed to say. You're my daughter, full stop. Inheriting everything; the riches, the sect, the problems, the responsibility, as is your right as my daughter.

She doesn't fully understand this gesture but it touched her all the same.

When Jiang Xie was 14 Jiang Cheng gave her authority over Zidian and said she should start training how to use a whip. Jiang Xie stared at the famous tool she had always wanted to try and use and told him, "I think Ling-ge should inherit Zidian."

Two things popped up in Jiang Cheng's head after hearing her say that. 1) He isn't planning to give Zidian to either of them yet and 2) worry that she's feeling insecure about her place in this family again. "And why is that?"

She shrugs, twisting the ring around her finger but not removing it. "I just think he should."

"Because he's a blood relative? Because I do still have several of those in Meishan."

Jiang Xie looks at him, "What? No! I just think Ling-ge should inherit something from you!"

Jin Ling already has his father's sword, Jiang Cheng thinks. "And what about you?"

"I'll have Yunmeng Jiang."

Jiang Cheng relaxes. Okay, that's - okay.

"I mean, of course I don't want to inherit it yet, and Ling-ge will definitely reject Zidian if you try to give it to him—" she adds, "We prefer not to inherit anything from you, actually—"

"I'm not planning on giving them to you anyway." Jiang Cheng interrupts.

"Oh. Good! Then why are you giving me Zidian?"

"Because," Jiang Cheng starts, "isn't it strange that the Sect Leader of Lanling Jin has authority over my weapon but not my heir?" And you're about to do your first solo night hunt, I want you to have access to Zidian if needed.

"Oh," she says softly again before slipping the ring off her finger.

Chapter 6

Summary:

The Jiang arrive at Cloud Recesses and there will be a final confrontation.

Lan Qiren was drinking tea. A lot of tea. Today was the ribbon ceremony and after that, Wei Ying would be completely and irrevocably his son. He would be forever safe from the Jiangs. A-Ying was practically bouncing off the walls, with Xichen not far behind. A-Zhan, well, he was sitting quietly and reading a book. He was calm. Lan Qiren was also calm, but he was faking it. Just one more hour and it would all be settled. Almost time to go to the main hall. 

"A-Die, A-die. Lan Daifu and other Lan Daifu will be there, won't they?"

"They will, A-Ying, just as you wanted."

"And Lan Zhan, Laolao, and Tangge and you?"

"Yes, A-Ying. Everyone you invited will be there. And the Elders."

"But what if the Elders don't like me? I can be loud. They won't say I can't be adopted, will they."

"They will not. They have agreed and are happy you are here."

"Oh, okay. Are we going, soon?"

"Soon."

"But..." Wei Ying's question was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Is it time? A-Die is it time?"

Lan Qiren frowned. It wasn't. He looked outside to see a worried looking disciple. Now what? 

"Xichen, take the children to Baoshen Sanren. I'm sure she would appreciate a little time with you all before the ceremony begins."

Xichen nodded, gathering the two smaller boys and led them off, Wei Ying still chattering endlessly.

Concerned, Lan Qiren turned to the guard. "I asked not to be disturbed. What has happened?"

"The disciple bowed. "Apologies, Xiansheng. The Jiang's are at the gate." 

"What? Jiang Fengmian is here?"

"All of them, Xiansheng. Jiang Zongzhu, Madam Yu and their children. Also ten disciples. They are demanding entry."

"Are they, now. Well then, show the main family to the Yashi - no, to the small reception room, but the disciples must wait outside. They will not be staying long."

"Should I tell them you are coming?"

"Tell them nothing. Let them wait."

"Should I offer tea."

"No."

With that, he strode off to join his family.

Flinging open the door, she strode outside, hunting for a victim. A group of young juniors were approaching, but swerved away when they saw her. All but one. "You, boy, where is everyone? Why have we not been properly greeted?"

The boy looked at her a moment, ignoring the other boys trying to pull him away. "We have a free day today. Lan Xiansheng is occupied with the ribbon ceremony."

"Ribbon Ceremony? What is a ribbon ceremony?"

"Lan Xiansheng is going to adopt that servant Wei Ying. He's going to be main family, so he gets a special ribbon, then he gets written into the family registry."

"What? How dare he. He can't do that! How dare he - Fengmian!" Then she was gone, her husband and children hurrying after her.

The juniors were shocked. By now, everyone in Cloud Recesses knew the story of how Madam Yu had attacked Wei Ying with Zidian, and how their second young master had stepped in to save his life. Why would one of their own give her such important information? "Su She, what are you doing? Why would you tell her that? What if she interferes and tries to stop the ceremony?"

"So what if she does?" Su She was unrepentant. "So what? So what if she does stop it? I hope she does. I hope she does take that servant boy away. He doesn't belong here. What right does he have being adopted anyway, and into the main family at that? If Lan Xiansheng wants a son, there are far more suitable candidates. Why that boy? Look at him, always hanging off the second young master and laughing and happy and being spoiled. What's so special about him? I probably just saved the sect endless trouble. I'm not sorry."

His friends looked at him in disgust before walking away and leaving him alone.

There was a sudden quiet and Lan Qiren started forward, but Baoshen Sanren was faster. "What is all this shouting? Mind your manners, Madam. Have you no respect for where you stand?"

What? Who was this woman? How dare she show contempt for her? "I am Yu Ziyuan."

"And I am Baoshen Sanren. Your point?"

Jiang Fengmian joined his stunned wife, bowing deep. "Boashen Sanren? The Immortal?"

"Do you know another one?"

"Ah, forgive me, Venerable Sanren. My wife meant no disrespect. We were not expecting - I was not expecting..."

"Enough of your babbling. Why should I care what you were expecting? You come here, screeching and wailing, disrupting my grandson's big day and dare to try to flatter me?"

For a moment, Lan Qiren had to wonder if Baoshen Sanren knew of the Lan silencing spell, since Yu Ziyuan seemed to have entirely lost the ability to speak, only able to splutter incoherently. 

No-one had ever spoken to Yu Ziyuan like that. Outrageous! She had been horribly abused, yet no-one defending her. Why wasn't her husband defending her? "Fengmian!"

"Oh, uh, you..."

"Ah, yes, Jiang Fengmian, I hadn't forgotten about you. I know your kind. You have your grandiose illusions of what your life is and refuse to accept the reality. You think you are respected, that you are loved, and you will never look outside your imaginary world to see the destruction your passive avoidance has caused. Have you, by any chance, heard the gossip claiming my Wei Ying is your son?"

"Oh, well..."

"Of course you have. It's talked about as fact all over Yunmeng. So, my question to you, why have you not yet refuted it? You know it's false. I know it's false. Yu Ziyuan could take no more, Zidian crackling to life on her wrist. 

"No! No!" A small figure darted forward, standing protectively in front of Baoshan Sanren.

At first, Lan Qiren thought it was A-Zhan, but no, it was A-Ying. Apprehensive, he started forward, but was stopped by a grave Lan Huizhong. "Let him. He needs this." 

Wei Ying was wringing his hand, breathing heavily as he stared up at the woman who had tormented him for so long. Lan Zhan joined him, taking his hand to offer support and strength, but not interfering. Wei Ying pointed at Yu Ziyuan. "You. You are mean and bad. You hurt Wei Ying. Wei Ying did nothing wrong. Nothing bad. Wei Ying is good. You shout and shout and make Wei Ying kneel and kneel and kneel and it hurts. There was hard rice under the kneeling and it hurt. You hurt Wei Ying. Wei Ying is good. Wei Ying is not nothing. Wei Ying has a family; Lan Zhan and A-Die and Tangge and Laolao. Lan Zhan loves Wei Ying so Wei Ying can never be nothing. Yu Ziyuan grabbed for him, but before she could touch him, Lan Zhan leaned forward and bit her. She shrieked in disbelief. Had that really just happened? The boy was back in place and completely expressionless. What? And now The Brat was off again.

"I don't love you. Why are you here? You weren't invited. This is my party, and you weren't invited. I don't want you here. I'm not scared of you." At that, Wei Ying stopped, his little brow furrowing. It was true. He wasn't scared of her. Not anymore. "I'm not scared of you. I'm not scared of you!"

Then Yanli was there. She had always been kind to Wei Ying. He didn't want to upset her, but she really shouldn't be here. 

"A-Ying, please, you mustn't shout at Mother. You know she doesn't mean it. If you only behaved..."

"But what did I do, Shijie? I didn't do anything. it wasn't my fault. It was never my fault. It was her."

"No A-Ying, you know Mother cares about you deep down..."

"She doesn't, Shijie. She really doesn't. I'm sorry."

"But if you only come home, everything could be alright again. I promise, Shijie will make everything better. I can make you soup. We can be happy. Don't you want to come home? Don't you love us? Don't you love A-Cheng? Don't you love me?"

"Shijie, please don't cry. I'm sorry. I do love you, and Jiang Cheng. Of course I do. But I am home. I'm adopted now, Shijie. This is home now. Maybe you can visit?"

Wei Ying staggered back at the sudden push from the furious little boy. "Look what you did! You made Jie cry! It's all your fault."

"It's not, Jiang Cheng. It wasn't me. It's not my fault. It's not. She's just sad."

"Because you won't come home. I don't care if you don't, anyway. I don't care if you never come back. Stay here with your family for all I care!"

Lan Qiren stepped up behind Wei Ying, Xichen to his left, Boashen Sanren on the right and the little ones in front of him. United as a Family. 

"You heard my son, Jiang Fengmian. Yu Ziyuan. It's time you left. We have the welcome celebration for my son to attend and You. were. Not. Invited. Now get off my mountain before I have you thrown off."

Defeated, Jiang Fengmian took his children and turned to leave. Yu Ziyuan still stared at the group facing her, trying to find a way, any way that she could still win. 

Boashan Sanren clapped her hands and turned to the children. "Well, that was exciting. I am so ready for tea and buns."

"Cook made tanghulu. It's Wei Ying's favourite."

"Did she now, A-Zhan. How lovely. Why don't you lead the way. The Lans began to file away, leaving Yu Ziyuan standing alone and ignored. With a final scream of impotent rage, Yu Ziyuan left.
