Ok. So maybe my cat was onto something when he tried to interfere with the flowers last night. The flower I drew today looks much better.

Ardell and his crush #the initial name for her is Mayumi (it means gentle) but I also like the sound of Lilim (it means shade)#unrelated ramblings #you will not believe what my darling cat did #so I was saving this other art yeah? and I'm a hundred layers in. i'm saving it to make a copy of it #and work on this foreground on a different canvas from the background because... hundred layers.#yeah I think the pc is slowing down #so it was saving and it's taking a while and my precious cat decided to sit on the keyboard!#and the screen went white and I prayed to god it saves #i wasn't pissed at my boy. i can always do it again. but still #it saved. thankfully. anyway. imma draw flowers again

I dunno if during her first solo night hunt she'll actually be able to do it alone with Jiang Cheng lurking somewhere near by or if she's gonna get "unexpected" companions.

I think it would be funny if she got "unexpected" companions.

This is Jiang Cheng's kid so obviously she got her the 400 immortal-binding net. And then Jin Ling, who is absolutely not overprotective like jiujiu, what do you mean?? Was "coincidentally" leading his own night hunt near the area and totally just happened to come across Xie that beautiful night. Him and Jiang Cheng definitely didn't talk about this occasion. Nope!

Jiang Cheng may or may not have informed Wei Wuxian. He probably flipped a coin or asked a fortune teller or something. Made that one disciple of his read his daughter's lucky stars and tell him if dragging Wei Wuxian from his husband's mountain is gonna be good for her chances in the wild. With his wayward brother, it's always possible for a disaster to happen, better check with fate first if she's planning to make another earth shattering series of events the day his kid tries to be independent.

Jiang Cheng isn't meddling, okay? He isn't! All he did was tell Jin Ling when his little cousin will take her first big steps into the cultivation world! And like, depending on the lucky stars, if he wants Wei Wuxian to be in the know since he missed a lot of things due to being dead. You know? You get it? Good!

Anyway, whether Wei Wuxian is informed or not by Jiang Cheng, he'll probably appear. Maybe it was Jin Ling who told him, maybe the lucky stars lied to Jiang Cheng, either way he appears and now there's far too many powerful people for Xie to even claim that she managed to do it alone.

I dunno how she'll react to that. She'll probably get upset. She's capable of doing it by herself, thank you very much.

Xie: are you planning to die?

Jiang Cheng: NO!

Me every time I see a cute fanart of two characters interacting: I must expand my OC's social circle.

Also me: Look, their abysmally small social circle is relevant to the plot and their character. Enea wouldn't be doing half the things he's doing if he isn't ostracized! The only thing Lulu managed to do with consistency is ruin her few precious relationships! It's important!

#the consequence of making terrible people: no cute interactions with friends because there's no friends.#enea isn't a bad person but he also stopped believing in people at some point.#he can't fathom thay someone who isn't name Lucifiel Elheim wants him as Enea.#everyone needs him as a new god or a convenient magical plant boy but no one wants him #it's a thing in the story. it's important because without these issues there wouldn't be a story lol #but it's okay. i made the au with kento for this very reason #I WILL GIVE THEM A HAPPINESS AND FRIENDSHIP AND EVERYTHING!! Even if I have to make an entire new dimension to do so!#tho. arguably... it isn't them anymore? lol it's like... a different version of them? but I'm keeping their core characteristics #so it's also them??? it's essentially a what if scenario.#if Enea's story isn't the very beginning of all of my other stories that's connected because Luci is there. Another theme in Enea's story is an act of kindness that turned into a burden because I like corrupting good things, apparently. At least with this one Luci does have opinions.

She wasn't supposed to become a part of the mad scientist's family. Dr. Elheim didn't want her to be a part of his family. He also didn't do any work to make her a legal member of society, it was his son who did all the paperwork.

Luci always thought that it was an act of kindness and she's grateful to her brother for the name. But the name is also such a pain in the ass. She wouldn't say that openly, she owes them too much to say something so ungrateful. But the name is more hassle than it's worth sometimes. She wouldn't have as many haters as she does if she didn't receive the name.

She's more melancholic about the whole thing but this is basically her opinion about the name.

#she also wouldn't have as much power as she did for the majority of the story of she didn't have the name so she's like... okay??? with it #it's useful... half the things that happened wouldn't have happened if she didn't throw money at it lol #enea would certainly have lesser wiggle room with how he works with problem if lulu can't throw cash at the problem #i should draw her with money more lol

One of the themes in Enea's story is inherited legacies, sins and responsibilities and I feel like it's a bit stupid when the deuteragonist, Luci, doesn't give a flying fuck about her adoptive dad's very real human experimentation history.

At several points in the story she faced her adoptive dad's victims who hates her because her adoptive dad is very dead and all that hatred has to go somewhere and she is living off the wealth her adoptive dad accumulated with his human experimentation researches and what does she say to them?

"I'm not him. I don't understand why you should be my problem."

Gurl, we have a theme! At least care a little about them!

She helped two of them not because she wants to make amends. She helped because Enea entrusted them to her and hell will freeze over before she fails that boy's trust.

#i love her so much but sometimes her entire being goes against themes of the story #ok not really. she just looks at all the questions the story is asking and went. 'why is that a problem?' and I love that about her. really #but god. woman! stop. just. just stop. care a bit about my questions will you??#she was supposed to be the protagonist but she's a very reactive character #she only acts when enea acts so I decided that enea will be the protagonist since he is making his own choices at least #but sometimes I feel like lulu should be protagonist because a lot of what's going on involves her because of her adoptive dad #but with that attitude??? yeah. she's better off as deuteragonist

I had this idea of rivals/frenemies to lovers where they genuinely don't like each other. Then they got hit with the accidental baby acquisition trope. And it's a magic baby, it popped into existence because some crazy magic man took their DNA and made a baby out of it.

As much as the two dislike one another, putting the kid up for adoption is not an option. They don't want the kid to grow up thinking it was abandoned. They are also both single and they don't want the other to run away from the responsibility. If A is suffering through parenting then B is suffering also. They also refuse to let the child grow up thinking that it's a mistake or that they are unwanted. They are assholes, not monsters. So they grit their teeth, called a ceasefire and swore to raise the magic baby together.

Somewhere along the parenting journey they learn more about each other and eventually fall in love.

#i haven't gotten around making this idea because I don't know romance in the ways that matter

Me after thinking about all kinds of nasty my Protagonists had to go through and finally getting to the point of remembering that they did not have a happy ending: *crawls back to the ocs who never suffered and are eternally happy*

#swinging back and forth between Xie and Lulu and Ene lol #while I was coloring the coms needed something easy because I kinda messed up my process and my layers are a mess i dunno where is which #so I opened some wips. it was Lulu's family photo #and like... shit man. i really ruined that family when they're finally getting together #i know that that's the point. that it's there to show how lulu's selfishness and narrow-mindedness ruins her relationships #that this is what she's willing to sacrifice for ene #it's still sad to look at that family photo

Sometimes you see clothes you wanna put your ocs in and your brain objects: They'll never wear that!!

And then sometimes you're sleep deprived but can't sleep and that's enough for your brain to not care about the integrity of your fictional children and draw them in the clothes you want to put them in and they don't look good in it and you understand why they'll never wear that.

Oh I think I know at least one thing for sure about teen Xie: she's one girls with the strongest cultivation in her generation.

Is she naturally talented?

I dunno. It's irrelevant. But she definitely worked hard to get there.

Why?

Because she found out that her dad has a very youthful face. Youthful enough that he could be mistaken as Jin Ling's brother. She refuses to look like an old hag one day while her dad apparently looks like a young adult. That is simply unacceptable, not to mention, embarrassing! She needs a strong cultivation so she wouldn't wrinkle either.
