Sunset part 3 is one of my absolute favorite parts of lu because we get such great moments as:

Wolfie reveal (which was a big deal at the time even if it doesn’t seem like it now lol) and Sky and Warriors being very chill about it (kings)

Some Master Sword Things (there is so much going on here despite nothing being said AAAAAA)

Twilight showing the family stubbornness and refusing to take it easy despite nearly being chopped in halflike like the numbskull (affectionate) he is (also Time having to deal with his inherited stubbornness lol)

Hey, neighbors! I am alive! XD

AAAAH! I finally managed to finish Tom's sheet, but for Au "Actors," the author of this AU is @ frillsand. I've been wanting to create drawings related to this AU for a while now, and there are still comics that I want to share.

Wally won my heart -cries- 😭💘, of course, haha. I'll be sharing with you all the comics that come to mind regarding this AU.

Well without anything else to say about it...let's start with Tom Sweetheart, the stylist!!

Tom Actor's Story:

In a town called "Titirilquén," Tom Sweetheart grew up alongside his mother and brother Diego Sweetheart. They depended on each other for everything. They didn't own a television, but they would find TVs on in stores where mostly there were news and interviews with celebrities. Both of them dreamed of becoming actors inspired by the experiences shared by those celebrities on television. Their school further fueled their interests, as it offered a theater subject and a variety of art-related courses.

At school, Diego exhibited a captivating personality in his school theater performances, earning admiration from everyone. However, Diego felt uncomfortable because nobody paid attention to his brother, who was also improving with each performance and costume. Therefore, Diego decided to involve his brother in everything to make him stand out just like himself...

Over time, the school grants Diego a special scholarship that involves working in one of the largest studios in Titirilquen despite being very young. This news greatly delights Diego, so he mentions it to his brother about this opportunity to become what they wanted to be at that time. Unfortunately, those who gave Diego the opportunity were very disappointed when he brought Tom to work with him, so they reluctantly accepted Tom only because Diego requested it.

When Diego was not around Tom, they assigned him different tasks than what an actor should do, completely deviating from the agenda that Tom had planned for the week. This led him to become overloaded with tasks, but he didn't complain because he thought it had to happen when living the life of an actor.

Diego and Tom were the first young actors (They were about 20 years old, Diego 22 and Tom 20) in the Titirilquén studio. They initially performed in a few presentations for a museum, and then the director decided to create a program with them. Both did their best until they became somewhat more known thanks to the news in their town, and Tom was no longer as ignored as when he first joined. They reached a broader audience, leading them to want to learn more about the people in their town. So, they started learning sign language and refining their voices for musical sections to begin a small program aimed at families.

Both were directed by the same assistant, "Ron," but due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to retire because he had to move to another country for another job opportunity where he could earn more money to support his family. They had a new assistant, a woman named "Jenny" (She was 24 but was not interested in working with puppets.) and from this moment, problems arose. The new assistant was serious and easily stressed when the director had to tell her what to do. As a result, she left the job of directing to the two young actors.

This assistant was starting to have too many problems with the brothers, she envied that both brothers mentioned the previous assistant's actions. However, they did not say this with bad intentions but rather so that he could do his job well, since the director was demanding regarding what should be on the schedule of both brothers. Over time, the work environment between them improved, but something was missing in the assistant's life, the brothers did not say many things to her or chat with her, but instead spoke only among themselves.

One day, Jenny overheard a conversation between the two brothers about the previous assistant. Jenny misinterpreted this as a threat to her job and felt worthless to both brothers. He decided to come up with a plan with his fellow students. The plan was to put one of the brothers in a problematic situation so that she could do something to help them and get recognition for it because according to her, the brothers did not value her.

The chosen target was Tom, as Jenny considered him weak and incapable. After finishing his singing section of the show, Tom left the studio to take a break and have a drink.

He noticed that his co-workers near a restaurant were calling him to chat, Tom without noticing any suspicion in them, approached them with great joy, because he admired what his co-workers were doing in the studio.

And being recognized and starting a conversation by them was a great joy for Tom, since he always lived underestimated as just a simple doll who cannot stand out among humans.

Unfortunately, there were ulterior motives. While they were talking to Tom normally, they took him behind the studio, which looked like an alley, and there a cruel scare developed. These coworkers mentioned negative things when they entered the alley and Tom felt uncomfortable by his coworkers' sudden mood swings. He tried to back away, but was easily caught. While saying negative things, they gradually destroyed parts of his body, including arms, legs, wrists, and fingers. They showed no concern for the little puppet's screams and fear because, to them, he was just a doll that couldn't feel pain, or so they claimed, they made fun of him for being too dramatic when he screamed.

When this situation came to an end, the group of companions left, leaving him alone, Tom remained on the ground, crying without understanding how the situation took such a sudden turn. Just a few moments ago everything was fine and now he was helpless on the ground, motionless. He could only see the cotton sticking out of his body and his limbs outside his body, he could only move his head at the moment, he felt completely useless. He prayed that his brother would find him and help him, but then Jenny appeared, pretending to be worried about Tom. She helped him in this terrible situation and took him to the emergency tailoring service.

Now, with Tom recovered, he was mentally depressed and shattered. He looked at his stitched-up body and felt very insecure about venturing into the streets inhabited by humans. He didn't want to go through a similar situation again, so his only support rested on Jenny.

Tom was immensely grateful to her for helping him in this terrible and stressful situation. After a few long minutes of silence, he told his assistant that he didn't want to continue his acting career. This surprised Jenny, but she said nothing and just listened, offering ideas. She felt quite good about helping Tom in these moments of stress. She informed the director about this decision, and of course, he was very concerned and saddened, especially when Tom requested not to inform his brother.

When Tom was discharged on the same day as the accident, he didn't want to go home because a thought crossed his mind: he had always depended on his brother and was only causing him problems. So, with a heavy heart, he decided to distance himself from his brother. The assistant supported all of Tom's ideas, including the idea of complete separation. She was happy that Tom depended on her, so she found him a job outside the country without consulting him.

From Diego's perspective, after the accident, he found it strange that his brother didn't appear on the show. He asked the director why there were sudden changes in the program and why his brother wasn't there. The director decided to be tough with him, saying they hired him and not his brother. He gave Diego new rules for the new direction of the show. Diego was devastated by this news. He considered quitting his job but thought better of it; he wanted to see his brother at home.

When he arrived home, there were no traces of his brother or his belongings. He tried calling him, but there was no phone coverage. In his desperation, he contacted the authorities to inquire about his brother, but they only started working after at least two days of being missing.

This situation was stressful for Diego and his mother. They were very worried and considered various possibilities of what might have happened. Tom decided not to tell them anything when offered a call by the authorities and declared that he wouldn't return home. His family was concerned because they heard a weak voice through the phone, but it was all they could do as the studio was too secretive with the information.

Both brothers remained separated for a long time. For Diego, nothing was the same without Tom, and the show looked depressing. Despite this, he maintained a forced smile for his audience. Children asked a lot about his brother, leading him into deep depression.

Tom, moved to another country, working in a new studio as a stylist. He adopted a fearful, anxious, and panicked attitude, afraid of everyone. To distract himself, he overloaded himself with work, trying to maintain composure by breathing deeply. He couldn't stop thinking about his family, and he knew what he was doing wasn't healthy, but he wanted to stay away for a while.

Well, that's roughly the story. It's long, but I feel that now it's better understood than before. Thanks for staying to read and loving Tom Actor! -cries-

Curious facts about Titirilquén today:

Lately, I've been hooked on a series called "31 minutos," so I included some things from that series. I highly recommend it, it's in Spanish, but there are English subtitles available. Titirilquén is from that show.

Titirilquén doesn't have hospitals because literally no one gets sick there. However, there are places like Mrs. Juanita's service, who takes care of the damaged puppets in this town.

Titirilquén was a town of only puppets but tired of being anonymous and as an unknown town, they decided to include people in their town, building a civilization, the negative of the town only benefits the humans that its own puppet inhabitants.

Facts about Tom:

He is 27 years old now.

He speak spanish but he learned English thanks to Jenny.

He is very naive, and that works against him, as he decides to trust everyone.

He has a puppet friend in this studio and his name is Lulu but he affectionately calls him "Wolfy" After going through hell with Jenny, he dates Wolfy but that's when he realizes he doesn't want a romantic relationship.

When he first arrived at the studio, the studio people confused him with Wally, so since that day, some just call him "Pink Wally." (This is due to his height, skin tone and hair shape, so Tom changed his look to messier hair to not look like Wally)

Tom is a very good worker, but he always hides after finishing his work and doesn't get distracted by anything while working. If a human talks to him, he ignores them, but if it's a puppet, he takes time to chat.

Despite hiding, he is found by children, most of whom are human.

He misses being an actor but is very afraid.

Alongside his brother, they worked on a children's educational program called "Sing until Counting to 3." They taught children songs that included sign language. However, when they leave, the program is completely forgotten by the director.

Tom and Diego are not the same height, Jack has to bend down to hug and talk to him.

Tom usually wears makeup, always in pink or fuchsia, which is his favorite color.

Tom often sees little due to his poor eyesight, so he sometimes needs glasses to see clearly, but he usually doesn't use them because he finds them unnecessary.

Tom has fallen in love with Jenny because of her concern for him but by the time they are "boyfriend and girlfriend" Jenny ignores him, she is with him out of pity. Sometimes Jenny yells at him and hits him when he is loving with her.

As you can see, Tom is afraid of humans, and you rarely find him crying in studio places where people don't live, or even paranoid. If you find him in this situation, make him feel comfortable because he is completely unstable at that moment.

People consider him strange and curious because he often hides and is fearful, and they don't understand why he behaves like that. (It doesn't mean he avoids bad situations with the studio's humans; some of them respect the puppets, while others decide to hate them.)

Tom in this Au has a human brother, in the style of muppet protagonists. His name is Diego Sweetheart and they are both very close and have achieved many things together by working as a team. Diego is very attentive to his puppet brother, caring for him and trying to understand him as best he can.

Will Tom manage to become an actor again? Will his life improve? Will his brother Jack locate him after a long time? Will Tom continue to call himself unfortunate? Find out in the next episode... *Felmonth bids farewell to the viewers watching the video.*

Dergtober 4-8

Time to catch up on derbtober art! I meant to post these more regularly, oops.

Day 4: Pirate; featuring, err, she somehow doesn't have a name yet after 6 years. Current ideas are maybe Seaberry? Nebelung? We'll see. Anyway, she's one of the main combatants of a band of nocturne thieves. While most of the members prefer to stick to indirect combat and poisons should something go wrong with a mark, she's more than happy to start drawing her blades.

Day 5: Map; featuring Jasper. No, I did not draw all this that day, lol. I decided today's prompt was a good opportunity to make myself finish this drawing from March where I'd already drawn and colored everything except the map accent and a few other wing details. I just did not want to deal with that accent haha. The drawing originally was a style test to see how using exclusively hard-edged cell shading would look. It works alright for dramatically-lit irishim, but I don't think it's a style I would want to use for any length of time.

Day 6: Deity; featuring a real quick sketch of what it might look like for the Windsinger to pass by; keeping things loose and rough because if I went much further I'd have to start thinking composition thoughts and I didn't sign up for designing a whole landscape. XD The dragon far below is my random progenitor Aural. He's devoted to his deity and credits the Windsinger for having a better plan for him when childhood blindness made the plans his parents would have had impossible. His faith is a quiet one though, mostly shown through his dedication to individual freedom and making sure his clan is a place where everyone can thrive.

Day 7: Ancient; featuring, uhhh, also doesn't have a name. I guess I never decided how I want to handle Aberration name schemes. I hunted down which of my Ancients is the oldest by hatchdate. By lore, this pair is somewhat unusual among Aberrations in that their brains are linked, so its pretty loud in their heads as they are constantly aware of each other's thoughts. In theory this would allow them to coordinate pretty well, and they can when they are properly paying attention, but just as often they end up getting in each other's way. Such as here, where a noise behind them catches their attention and they end up bonking heads because they tried to move into the same space.

Day 7: Portal; featuring an extra quick sketch of Oneiri and a confused message recipient. Aural's son is close to flightless due to his tiny wing size, but makes up for it with dreameater abilities he gained from bonding with an ancient Baku. Jumping into the ethereal plane is a very effective way to travel! Oneiri's plane jumping is something I've wanted to draw for a while and I hope to make a more serious attempt at it sometime. The clan generally tries not to advertise his abilities because drawing attention is usually more hassle than it's worth, but pranking new clanmates that don't know is still fair game and I couldn't resist adding a startled onlooker in the corner. XD

Hi Amethyst! It's been a hot minute since I sent an ask in, but I have been reading both fics every day (still obsessed lmao) (also I name changed btw, used to be ElenaLoo)

Anyways, I had written a whole ask waxing eloquent on all the wonderful things going on in ttsbc, but I accidentally shut off my computer partway through and frankly I can't be bothered to write it all out again lmao. Just. It's beautiful (wow isnt that so meaningful and deep? im sure you're feeling very complimented rn)

The REAL thing I wanted to talk about was Traveling thieves (which is by far my favorite fanfic of ALL TIME), and all the amazingness in ttsbc made me forget it even existed for the past few weeks. But the other day I was just like "oh yeah. Traveling thieves." and then i reread the whole thing. whoopsies.

Ummm anywyas there's so many thoughts in my head about all the little guys, but recently I've been on an Imp and Skizz obsession (just scroll on my page for .2 seconds and you'll see) and YOU. You left them on a CLIFFHANGER. >:((( (not actually mad btw). I just. so excited for them. They're out alone in the woods right now and Skizz is going to have the perfect opportunity to kill Impulse and get away and I just am falling apart thinking about them. (I drew them to cope lol, posted on my blog but also later here so that I can talk about it more). I can see this playing out a few ways. Obviously Skizz isn't actually going to kill Impulse, so he's either going to 1) make up some excuse as to why he can't do it right then, but still plans to do it eventually, or 2) he does it. but he doesn't. Skizz attacks Impulse when he's not expecting it, there's a scuffle, and Skizz comes out on top---BUT THEN HE CAN"T FINISH IT!!! and it's a whole thing where even tho skizz tried to kill him, imp is still so understanding and skizz cries and impulse just freaking gives him a hug and

Whatever you do will be beautiful, I'm sure. I think you mentioned you're switching to tt after this fic, so crossing my fingers it's imp and skizz. (Though, would also be very happy with Martyn and Ren :P) (or anything really i just love tt)

Mostly I'm just very proud of their expressions, with Impulse being all concerned glancing over at Skizz, meanwhile Skizz is completely deadpan staring forwards, also looking very tired bc he needs a break from this universe. Also I switched up my Impulse design a lil bit from last time (if u even remember that lol it was months ago now). you would think, just looking at them, that Impulse took way longer to design, but nope, I was messing around with Skizz for at least double the time, trying to figure out how to have him facing forward whilst still showing some of the scars on his back. I gave up eventually xD (all that means is that im gonna have to draw him again later, from different angles)

actually that made me remember a question I had: are you planning to ship Imp and Skizz? Ik you said Zed and Tango are going to be a thing far in the future, but... skizzpulse? plzzzz plz pretty please haha im not obsessed

aaaaaand that reminds me of another question, is skizz going to be in ttsbc? (pretty please also same question as tt, if he was in ttsbc, are him and impulse together? Hello! Thanks so much for the sweet message! <3 There should be a new baby challenge video coming out later today, I just need to finish editing it xD

I do have multiple downloads folders that I switch out depending on the save, kinda! My EA Games folders looks like this:

(I like it this way, rather than switching just downloads, because this way it isn't possible to load the wrong neighbourhood for the downloads you currently have in and mess up your neighbourhood deco, lol! you can also have different collection files, cameras, etc.)

(Putting the rest under a cut since I got way too detailed describing all this, lmao)

So I have:

a "no cc" game folder for building projects (because I prefer building without cc if I am going to be sharing it)

a "low cc" folder for my YouTube saves, Fiero legacy, and a few other things

my "full cc" folder for my Hollyhead BACC & Pleasantview Plus uberhood.

The last one is definitely too much CC (24GB) and it does noticably make my performance quite bad lol! The game lags a fair bit and will start to flash pink if I play for too long, especially if I am loading large and heavily decorated lots. (This is why I go with a lower-cc vibe for Youtube especially, and whenever I start a new hood these days it tends to be a low-cc one).

Hollyhead & Pleasantview Plus both use the same mods and cc (arguably a mistake LOL), but I do switch out the neighbourhood-specific default replacements, the folders look like this:

There's not that much difference here lol, but they do use different plantsim skins, differences in careers, & Hollyhead has some "fantasy" defaults I don't want showing up in my uberhood.

Then, the "low cc" folder is much more limited! Mostly just essential bodyshop stuff, any maxis sets like the life stories collection or the store stuff, objects that have some sort of useful functionality... but then within that I do have more themed folders I swap in and out depending on the save :)

Robin River is my old for a round robin legacy hood, has some desert-appropriate default replacements & a few bits of cc specificly made for that legacy

Honeycoast is one of those indefinite-hiatus projects, has a lot of "European" build and buy cc as well as defaults

Shellcastle Sands is my legacy hood for the Fieros, the town has a beach city look so has a bunch of fun summery defaults

"Sprucestead" was the beta name for Spruceburg and has all the cc I use in both of my Youtube series. Way fewer default replacements in this folder since I went with more of a pure "maxis match" aesthetic

Each of those folders also includes a slightly different aging mod since I like tweaking that depending on how I am playing the neighbourhood, haha! I also have Uberhood_Mods and Spruceburg_Mods which have a few things that are stuff I want in the 8 baby challenge but not in Sprucebug, and vice versa. (e.g. only the uberhood has the playable nannies mod, Spruceburg has the more dangerous fires mod, etc.)

Uhhhhh, in terms of organisation, I just try to label each folder clearly and keep all my not-in-use folders on my desktop so they're easy to find. I think the different icons make it easier to tell stuff apart! I keep all sort of sims stuff (programs, backups, projects, mods I am saving for later, neighbourhoods, etc) clumped together on my Desktop and tidy it up every once in a while xD

As for how to make the custom icons bc I imagine somebody might ask about this lol, you do it like this:

I downloaded a pack of Sims 4 icons years ago (I can't remember where, sorry!) and made them into .ico files, this was long enough ago I don't really remember the details but I found a wikihow article that explains it xD

Sorry this ended up a crazy-long reply lol, I will say that all this is really not remotely necessary and arguably is quite convoluted and messy, hahha. It's like this bc I have been playing for 10+ years 😅 but I really enjoy organising folders and the like lmao, it's so satisfying to me!

I'm curious about your vision of AruAni and Ambassadors as a group of their future: for how long do you think they will be diplomats? What will make them leave the title and retire - some major event or, maybe, their age? Do you think, they will remain the Ambassadors till their 50s (for example), or will they retire much earlier? So I would really love to hear your vision of Ambassadors future far, far away from the canon.

As for the question, thank you :O~ Can't say I've given much thought about it, but it's very interesting, because we stop canon at a point where they're still very early in their Ambassador years, and post-rumbling headcanon-wise (take me, for example), it's mostly about their lives AS Ambassadors, and not after that.

Thinking about it... the answer is angsty, unfortunately xD

Personally, I want them all to spend only a few years as diplomats, say, ten (or fifteen maximum), and then stop. Because looking at it realistically, except for the rewarding sensation of helping people and rebuilding the world, I can't see ANY of them actively liking their titles or roles as political figures, be it for peace or the myriad of other responsibilities that come with it. Least likely to enjoy his work is Armin, because as serious as he may be about doing the things he wants to do (like peacekeeping efforts and changing the ideology of hostile nations), it wears him down not least because of the profound guilt he carries and the pressure on his shoulders chipping away at him one bit at a time.

Now, of course this is just a headcanon, but it could work out this way if Armin's able to, simultaneously, work on his inability to say "no" to something he doesn't want to do but is expected to, only because he's the "hero" the world keeps touting and watching for great acts and deeds. Then we'd all be happy. Early retirement! A decade spent toiling, hard at work, and then just stop, leaving the rest to more dependable people. Settle somewhere quiet, travel, see the world, live life slowly and sweetly at last. That'd be good!

Frankly I don't think Pieck would agree to remaining an Ambassador for too long, she simply doesn't seem the type. She's good, oh she's very good, she's saved them a bunch of times from potential political disaster, but... Paradis is not her home. There is nobody she knows on the increasingly militant island nation; despite advocating for peace and working out strategies to keep the chances of another war off Paradis' shores, it still means little to her except for another stop on their voyages by sea. She does her duty, and then, when the time comes, she says that's that.

Perhaps the others will be the same, though they'd announce their retirement in different ways of course haha xD

#8 How do you stay motivated? 

Ironically, when I first started writing, I asked someone who had been writing for a long time on how to stay motivated. They said "Motivation and inspiration don't exist." That never left me. I stuck with me to this day. I really didn't want to believe it.

That said, I used to really force myself to write because I was so desperate to escape reality for a while when I was younger. By now, it's more that I know what I want and that I like writing, but ultimately, if I realize I can't bring myself to or it's too exhausting for me, I learned to just not do it. Writing is a pasttime I either want to do or not, but it can't be forced, and I had to learn through therapy that it's okay not to engage in it if I don't feel like it.

So a real motivation doesn't exist. If I sit down and I have nothing I want to do more, I turn towards writing because I know I enjoy it. I am always happy to finish a story, always smiling when I read the lovely comments on them or when I get asks that chat or engage. And, of course, if I have a new idea I might be super exited to write it down. But maybe that person was right and there is no such thing as motivation per se. You either want to do the thing or don't. Both is fine, both are valid. No beating up about it either :)

All kinds of romance, I'd say! I think it's the most rewarding genre, and since I don't like extensive world building, something sci-fi or fantasy with a focus on the story is less my cup of tea. Characters are my favorite part about writing and if I get to pair them up it's a major plus! :D

#10 What is your favorite genre to read?

Yeeeeah, no surprise but romance lol! I honestly prefer romance plots over everything else and while that can be dark romance, romantasy, monster romance, normal romance stuff, it doesn't really matter. I crave romance and I want it sprinkled in my stories like I want sugar in a cake! I am that kind of predicatable :'D

And I'll be honest, I love dual- or multiple-pov and I want my characters pining and madly in love and for a story to make me giggle.

My favorite trope btw, is when they don't speak the same language and they have to figure each other out and learn to trust each other despite the language barrier. It's just so delicious, I gobble it up every time!

#13 What is your pre-writing process like? Do you outline, research, etc.? 

Oh, that really depends. If I just write a request or something predictably short then it's unlikely I plan anything. I get my spark of idea and go to town, basically!If I can predict that there will be multiple chapters I often write down what I want for the plot later in case I don't write the other parts right away, so I don't forget. If I want and have planned for a story to be long, then yes, I mostly have one paragraph with the rough outline per chapter. I do write down the most important things I want in that paragraph, that include dialogue and actions but it's a really rough outline and once I sit down to write I read it once or twice before delving in.

Research I do on the go when I get to a point in writing where I think "huh, how does that actually work?" and then I go figure it out. Doesn't interrupt the flow as much as one would assume! If it's a planned action or happening that I was able to predict beforehand, then I will probably do the research, safe the pages and read up on it when I get to the chapter! I do prefer less research and more creative freedom though, haha xD

#19 Do you see your characters more as children, as people you know and love, or more as tools to generate the story? 

Uh, that question will make me look bad :'D

While I do care for my characters and think of them as individuals (that I'd love to meet up and be friends with) that I will call my kids, at the end of the day they are actually more... self-inserts. Yeah, I'll be shameless for a moment, I have not created a single character that has not been burdened with some form of my own problems, but I am happy to say they all got their happy ending! (Or what could be considered a HE for them lol!)

As such, tools would probably describe them better. I am definitely working a lot of my problems into my writing and it heals a part of me that is hard to reach. But in that way, they are also somewhat children to me and I love seeing them grow and overcome their problems. It's creative generational trauma :'D

Same doesn't go for the readers whose pov we have in the stories you read on this blog though (the second person pov can be very misleading, but those characters I don't consider my children or even my own characters). They don't always pick up my pieces but are mostly the embodiment of an emotion I want them to reflect. In fact, they are more like puppets, means to further the stories and involve the readers (you). They have to be much less personal in order for everyone to be able to associate with them, and I think it's very important to keep that up or else it'll become harder to read that pov!

And I also don't associate myself with ficitional characters created by other people. So what you read is just my interpretations of the characters.

I just wanted to say that I'm in love (and a bit jealous haha) with your style. It's so pretty and unique! Your hoods are gorgeous and your sims even more! (may i ask you what technique do you use to make them? Pooklet's? Face templates? A lot of sliders?)

I jumped around a lot between maxis-match, semi realistic, etc. trying to find something i liked (and i still feel i didn't quite found something i like 100%) and I'm in awe of how you made something that doesn't look like ts4 nor ts2 but a so cool and pretty in between!!!

So sorry for any misspeling - you can get double nn, no n, no m, no c, double cc, no c and many other surprises - i tried to fix everything but I could miss something xd).

I've restarted my hood 5 times I think before I got it to my recent version. I'm terrified every time through most of the process, it doesn't come easily to me xD.

Also ofc, everyone can have whatever aesthetics they like - the sims is the perfect series to express that.

With my sims it really depends. I mostly make a sim that I really like and then use it as a base for other sims, but not always. Sometimes I make a sim that I think looks quite unique but it's still missing somethig when it comes to features and makeup face details. During those moments I just open up my body shop sometime later or the next day and try to tweak this sim, sometimes it's more than once. And other times I end up liking the idk 3rd attempt but i still keep going since i want to make more similair sims, and also it's tiring to start the process from the beginning every time xD.

sry for the baldness xD - i deleted the wip hair conversion files they had and now i can't never change their hairstyles lol, idk how i did it for those two last sims seriously.

As you can see, all those sims have this maxis chain necklace, which means that I started the process using the same base sim and it just evolved into many differet results lol.

Other times I'm editing some maxis face templates to make them more my style (it's really fun!)

I also made one of my sims face into face template to make the rest of the family. I didn't want their faces to be - mouth: mom; eyes: dad; nose: mom - just a mix of both and adding something extra to make them a little more unique. Kinda pookleted their faces with two face templates.

I just really like this face. It can look either goofy or good xD.

I sometimes get inspired by images of some real life ppl (models, actors). When I'm really out of ideas I'm also dowloading sims made by others and use them as a base - just tweaking their features to be my style, mostly it's about face proportions and replacing the cc they used to the one I have. There is muuuch more examples that I could give but a lot of times it's just a result of tweaking some sims a couple of times xD.

Also due to the fact that i make my sims in body shop, idk how their faces will look whit face expressions. I was always using my sims to create previews for my cc conversions so I'm also testing them that way and if something looks too off - I'm just going back to body shop to fix that.

I think I've developed my style around the clay hair conversions that I've made - I wanted the sims in my previews to go well together with clay hair. I remember that I've picked the hair first, THEN sculpted my sims faces. There just werent that many to choose from at 1st.

I don't really use face templates - I have some, but I don't use them much - i think the proportions on faces of my sims are the closest to the maxis sims 🤔. I like their sharp features so when I'm stuck with making a sim, I'm using the pooklet method with those maxis templates but only a tiiiny bit - like 10-20% and only on those parts of the faces that I want to tweak a little more. After that I'm going back to editing the face myself.

(also a lil bonus of my sim from 2017, the only older picture that i have, i found it recently by accident and i think this is the only time when it's kinda in-context to post it 🤣).

Expression practice! Simon is feeling the weight of his situation rn alas :(. I’ve always imagined him being panicked the whole game; the overarching entire game timer really gives a pretty good feeling of dread imo. The two doodles at the bottom were attempts at multiple ideas I’ve seen floating around about the curse, but they’re kinda bad in execution looking at them no tbh. But the first one is based on the idea that the curse gives some vampire traits like sharp teeth and would probably lead to proper vampirism if he were to die from it. The second was general attempt at like skull practice and comparing facial features to skull structure, but oh my god the page kept smudging and I tried making it look ok with some random blood on there but it just made it look even sillier 💀.

These next two are based on two random like liminal space images I ran into on Pinterest and I drew them mostly because I suck at backgrounds and idk Simon’s Quest itself is like Castlevania: Liminal Space Edition a lot of the time, so it fits X,,,,D. The first one I really liked the composition of the path on the far side contrasted to the trees. Imagine the water is the purple cursed swamp :3. Hopefully Simon has laurels just standin around in there.

This second liminal space for Simon to be in was this neat nighttime photo of a graveyard! Trees are HARD TO DRAW, especially just in pencil and a solid black background. There’s blood on the ground and stuff cause he was just fighting some monsters, probably those two headed lizard guys. It’s the awkward stillness after clearing out an area of enemies.

Simon is very fun to put in exaggerated poses! Especially cause you have to exaggerate them more to get the same ratio of pose to negative space because muscles and armor. I had no idea how to make metal belt armor thingies sit in a like legs up floating sort of pose like this so they kinda bend a little weird but eh he looks cute otherwise. The other doodles present are one that says “brainrot” which is kinda making fun of my own dedication to an NES character 💀 and also cause haha rot like the curse. Also, teeny tiny Simon with a heart!!! :3

Yippie! Simon posing again! I think the first pose was inspired by this like random old anime style angel figure??? Idk I think she was just an original character figure and the pose was pretty different, I just used the reference mostly for the arm position. Anyway, he’s vibin, just sitting curled up and momentarily comfy. Alas, the horrors persist in the second doodle that was an attempt at showing how the curse kinda deteriorates him but he just kinda ended up having a scarily snatched waist and it looks more stylized than like sick. Also the armor kinda bends around him in a way that makes it look like it shrunk with him which is so dumb lmaooooo (XwX). I’ll have to revisit the concept eventually idk, just look at his face for this one XD. Hahaha tiny doodle based on Larval Rin on the left there, nothing to see here—

The main doodle is just Simon looking into the distance bewildered and holding the whip, standard stuff. There’s also a side profile doodle and an attempt at drawing crying again cause I was getting kinda rusty at both of those things.

Simon Belmont but if he was 2000s anime lol. A fun little style experiment, I might keep this as like another secondary art style. There’s also some doodles of a hanged man skeleton, the eyes of Vlad, a skeleton hand, and a couple little chibi Simon’s of various expressions.

More 2000s anime Simon, but in a more silly way like the art style change for joke sections. One is him just goofily holding up Dracula’s head, but it’s contrasted immediately with a more gritty usual art style doodle of him with harsh shading lol. Get you a man who can do both I guess 💀

I gotta practice more on backgrounds and composition and stuff, probably also get some curse effects consistent augh. Lately I’ve been on and off working on random things or just staring into space tired, getting back to using social media is hard and an exhausting uphill battle unfortunately (_ _ ;). Sometimes I feel like I should probably split these up into multiple posts to make things more visible and to put more focus on specific drawings, but idk I don’t really want to, it just feels weird to me breaking up a doodle page like that, if that makes sense??? Here is a list of words that I found interesting, and occasionally appeared in PingXie fanworks. Some of these words, I couldn't find the exact equivalent in English, so excuse me for the long explanation. My friend helped me but my knowledge is still limited (⁠^⁠～⁠^⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ

It's not a complete list (and kinda random). Please note that they are mostly used in PingXie/DMBJ fandom, I don't know about other fandoms. I may add some more, if I find it again.

【1】 窗户纸 (mtl: window paper) : it's like a trope where they're being so ambiguous and the status of their relationship may not be revealed, but everyone also knows that they are lovers. It's a special connotation of symbolic objects in Chinese culture, refers to two people who have a very deep love but did not confess to each other, their feelings are hidden in the heart. Other people also know that their relationship is similar to lovers but they did not say it. It's like a layer of window paper has not been pierced.

【2】 捅窗户纸 (mtl: pierce the window paper) : it's almost the same as the previous one, but they come to the realization of their feelings and confess to each other. They end up together, become lovers.

【3】 论坛体/直播体 (mtl: forum body/live broadcast body) : something like Social Media AU, but it's often on the forum instead or written in forum style.

【4】 竹马 (mtl: bamboo horse) : a male childhood friend

【5】 校草 (mtl: school grass/school bully) : the most handsome boy in the school

【6】 沙雕 (mtl: sand sculpture) : funny and silly

【7】 骨科 (mtl: orthopedics) : incest

【8】 伪骨科 (mtl: pseudo-orthopedics) : they are brothers but not real siblings

【9】 清水 (mtl: clear water) : no description of s*xual activities

【10】 破镜重圆 (reunited after a broken mirror) : they meet again after separation which is usually not in a good way/unreconciled

【11】 本传 (mtl: biography) : refers to the main story of DMBJ

【12】 杭州名木/杭州著名木头 or 吴邪，杭州一块有名的木头 (mtl: Wu Xie, a famous piece of wood in Hangzhou) : it's like comparing Wu Xie to the wood, because he is being oblivious and insensitive, he doesn't notice that Zhang Qiling loves him haha. There is a meme based on this lol.

【13】 铁木真/铁・木・真 (tiě mù zhēn/temujin) : it's not Genghis Khan here, it's a pun or a joke about Wu Xie. It's like the previous one, but added one more element.

"铁" (tl: steel/iron) for "钢铁直男" means he is a straight man of steel

"木" (tl: wood) for "杭州著名木头" means he is the famous wood in Hangzhou

"真" for "天真" Wu Xie's "Tiānzhēn"

【14】白月光 "bái yuèguāng" (mtl: white moonlight) : the first love that can't be forgotten

【15】 吴山四美 "wúshān sì měi" : four beauties of Wushan(ju)—Wu Xie, Zhang Qiling, Xie Yuchen, Hei Xiazi

【16】 嫩牛五方 "nèn niú wǔ fāng" : a group of five people—Wu Xie, Zhang Qiling, Pangzi, Xie Yuchen, Hei Xiazi

【17】 挨千刀 (mtl: suffer a thousand cuts) : it is used to scold someone, but it is not insulting them. Its tone is more into worried rather than being angry. For example, Wu Xie complains "挨千刀的闷油瓶" in his heart, it sounds like he uses a spoiled tone to show his annoyance.

【18】 醋[瓶] (mtl: vinegar) : jealous [Zhang Qiling]

【19】 墨水[瓶] (mtl: ink) : a slight dark [Zhang Qiling]

【20】 排雷 (mtl: demining) : a setting that you should pay attention before reading, usually it is unacceptable for most people.

Hello! I'm burning with curiosity over this question: Why did you decide to bind Mo Dao Zu Shi as a single enormous volume, as opposed to a set of several slimmer volumes? The book must be extremely heavy and rather unwieldy, right? I mean this question innocently and intend no disrespect, the book is quite impressive in its own right.

Ahahaha, absolutely!!! And no offense taken! So in this case, the goal was to get that large working surface to draw art onto. But i do also like doing this when possible, even when art isn't a factor! I did mdzs/tgcf/svsss in smaller volumes too, before doing them in single volumes. It doesn't exactly... bother me to divide a single continuous story into multiple volumes, but i like it better when the whole thing is in one place.

In a traditionally published trilogy, maybe the story is continuous, but the books are structured for those breakpoints. With mdzs or longfics, i have to look for a chapter in the right approximate location that provides the cleanest division point, and sometimes there's no great answer. If I am dividing things like that, it's probably because I'm trying to keep things in my guillotine's capacity rather than commiting to a power sanding adventure (like with mdzs, haha)

It does tend towards books that are kind of unwieldy, but when i work at quarto size, you get more leeway before the books become uncomfortably heavy. Mdzs isn't GREAT to handle, but svsss is the same height/width and 900 pages, and feels FABULOUS in the hands. And honestly, in the end, i mostly read on my phone anyways XD That svsss is the only one of my books I've read major chunks of in person. For me, the process is much more important than the product! And there's a couple of ways that huge single volumes make my brain go brrr, so that's why i regularly end up there, haha

Behind the scenes, something interesting is that I basically winged the entirety of Disparaged. I had no outline at all, I was just writing what I thought sounded like a good thing to happen next. I didn't expect much to come of the fic, so I wasn't really trying that hard with it.

Now Dissembled, Dissembled I planned out from beginning to end. Same with Disillusioned. While winging it was fun, it's not something I would likely do again, and I do not recommend it to anyone who is serious about getting good at writing.

For their overall vibe I really love "Superstar" by MARINA. A song about finally feeling belonging with someone, overcoming difficult times together. It's a really beautiful song for this two because it can viewed from both their perspectives:

There's only one ship my mind's been thinking about these past... several years XD (yes they are monopolizing me): Troy x Lee (Crazy Dog) x Ri

Who was the one to propose: Depends on the universe, personally I love the versions where at least two of them are planning to propose around the same time hihi. That's always cute and fun.

Who stressed more over wedding planning: This also kinda depends (haha that's what I get for having a million different stories for this ship). I feel like it's a toss up between Troy and Ri. Maybe in (post-)apocalypse versions it's more Ri and in AU versions it definitely feels like Troy. Lee is way too laid back to worry too much (he just wants to spend the day celebrating them and it doesn't matter a lot to him if things dont work out like they planned or anything like that. It just matters that they are together. I mean also good food, I feel like he'd want the food to be especially nice hihi - also, he did this once before so he knows things might go wrong and that that's ok too).

Who decorated the house: Mostly Ri, she's the one that has an eye for making things beautiful. Troy is too practical about things haha he'd never stop to consider the prettiness of things, just whether he needs them or no. And even though he may tease Ri over it or like bitch a little haha at getting 'unnecessary' things, in the end he has to admit (only to himself of course XD) that the house *does* look nicer with Ri's additions. Also he likes seeing her presence there like this. Lee, on the other hand, very much appreciates Ri's sense of beauty from the very first moment. He loves all beautiful things after all... and maybe feels like he doesn't have as good of an eye as Ri. But once she starts with decorating, he tries, too. They have fun choosing things together, he likes her telling him her opinion about what he chooses and also telling him whether it'llf it or no.

Who does the cooking: Ri and Troy. Mostly together hihi. Ri is the better cook but it's a close call. Lee absolutely can't cook. I mean he won't die of starvation of course, he knows the basics, but he doesn't know what makes things taste yummy (which is a tragedy since he so loves good food. I think if he'd be on his own for a bit, without the other two, he may grow depressed from how his food is so bland hahahah)

Who is more organized: Troy is, even though Ri is pretty organized, too. Lee absolutely is the least organized (which is difficult for Troy to watch haha, mostly he's annoyed about it but sometimes it also amuses him. Also he likes to tease Lee about it when the mood strikes. Which Lee doesn't mind one bit, he knows his weaknesses after all)

Who initiates bedroom fun: Well I'd say it's pretty evenly split. In the beginning Troy is always a bit more hesitant but honestly never for long. He's greedy like that. For Lee, bedroom fun (haha) is a very important expression of his love, so once he does fall in love he's pretty horny XD And Ri isn't shy either.

Who suggested kids first: So, in most stories, the first one is kinda an accident hahaha. But the second one, Troy suggests almost always first (except in the one version where Ri didn't even really want the first one, there, she is the one who suggests it). Lee does already have a kid, but he doesn't know is he is alive or dead so it's a bit of a touchy subject with him...

Who’s more dominant: Inside the bedroom, Lee, hands down hahaha. Outside, it depends. Everyone has their area of expertise and the others do defer to it (not always of course, there has to be potential for clashes hihi). I feel like though if Lee really wanted to, he is most capable of stopping the other two with a word or phrase, even if they don't feel like stopping. Though mostly he's the mediator (uhm. more or less. because when there's a fight between ri and troy, both go "lee! do something, s/he's being a meanie!"

Who’s the cuddler: Lee, absolutely. Though they are all very physical. Always touching one another (casual or otherwise) and hugging, even when they're not yet romantically involved.

What’s their favorite non-sexual activity: Basically everything they can do together hahah. No honestly, they enjoy spending time with one another and then it doesn't even matter that much what it is. Coooking, working in the garden or at the house, killing zombies (probably troy's favorite haha), cuddling on the couch, reading together, playing board games. All of it

Who comes home drunk at 3am: Ri. That's not even a debate. Troy doesn't drink and for Lee it would take quite a lot for him to stay out so late to get drunk.

Who kills the spiders: Troy or Lee, though mostly Troy is faster

Who falls asleep first: Lee, he just loves being all cuddled up to his lovers and it doesn't take long for him to fall asleep. The other two call him 'old man' (lovingly. most times) for a reason
