I haven't been able to read much of the series since the summer ended, but I'm always so giddy when a Treebark fic posts!

The domestic stuff and casual physical contact makes me unimaginably happy :)

The two of them were famous within the ball.

They'd ask for a dance, and they'd step on their toes.

One half of the pair would watch as the other slammed their heel onto their partner, breaking it.

The other would watch the former hurt people due to his own abandonment.

They went about the dance, leaving partners crying and hurt in their wake.

Eventually, they danced with each other.

It should have been perfect, the two closest at the dance finding each other.

And it was, for a while. Graceful, as they danced, the most sought over with each other.

Finally, as the music picked up, as it started to crescendo, they gazed into each other's eyes, a soft smile on their face and dipped.

It should've been perfect.

Instead, they could only stare as both of their backs erupted with blood.

They twisted their knives in their hands, the blood pooling around them.

The town watched with broken toes and bated breath as they collapsed.

And when they awoke, the other was gone.

This is some fanart for @amethystfairy1's au, "Through the Sky Blue Cracks"! Do go take the time to support the fic series (and Traveling Thieves, if that's more your style) since it's really good and she deserves the love!

I had this idea in my head for a while, so I decided to go and create this. Also, "Community Gardens" by Scary Jokes (and Louie Zing) works well for TTSBC, and is the lyrics in the piece!

While I'm not the happiest with the background, I absolutely love the blood dripping, and I hope you enjoy it enough.

But are the foundational towers holding up the bedrock ceiling? (I'd assume so given their name, but Jimmy wasn't sure in Gutter-Line Sunshine and I don't think it's really been addressed otherwise)

If the answer is yes that's both cool and mildly terrifying, but it also makes me wonder whether there was ever concern for a massive cave-in during the Anarchy since I'm pretty sure they got kind of beat up (literally everything did tbf)

If no, I wonder if that would have to change what with the bedrock cracking due to the over-city's weight

Thinking about this as I write, and I'm pretty sure the towers have to be doing something... but I'm curious about your thoughts

Can you imagine how crazy a full cave-in of the main cavern would be?? Literally everyone would absolutely freak out

(Also do you have a particular thing you like to be called? Is it just Amethyst? I swear I've seen someone call you Ame but I'm not sure if that's right so I wanted to check)

No one in the under-city is really sure, there's no living memory of when the foundational towers were built, but the name certainly does lend to the idea that they do, huh? 🤔

I mean a full cave-in of the main cavern would probably kill like...like most of the under-city...and a lot of the over-city if it came down into the cavern...luckily bedrock is SUPER strong stuff, so that's not a big concern! It's just the cracks and rifts causing all sorts of a kerfuffle!

I prefer to be called Amethyst! I've had some folks call me Ame or Ame-chan before and I don't mind those either, I'm not super picky! But Amethyst is what I go by in the online sphere! 💜

And I thought that the author had sent that ask. And I asked them. As in; I reached out to them.

Hey! So it's been a little while because I've been mainly working on an animatic recently. However, as a little break from that, I decided to doodle @silver-sunray's TTSBC, Ruka with my OC, Neap!
