so i have this doc where i put quotes from things like

“kinky”—jared, sincerely me, dear evan hansen

to

“revolution is never pretty. Nor is it clean, quiet, peaceful.”—these violent delights, chloe gong

and it’s honestly so inspiring? like i looked thru it a little and it feels like putting snapshots of your life and what was meaningful to you in one place.

How To Write A Book

Have a glorious idea pop into your head, one that you desperately want to write a book about.

Promptly forget it.

Repeat steps 1 & 2 until a new glorious idea pops into your head that you write down this time.

Get through like 1 page until you lose inspiration and click off to go scour the depths of AO3.

Come back in like a few months and write inspiredly for another few pages.

Repeat steps 4 & 5 until book is finished.

Cry as you reread your shitty writing and edit it.

Repeat steps 7 until you can’t take a single second of editing.

Repeat steps 7 and 8 until you go, ‘Fuck it let’s just see what people think’ for the millionth time.

AND THAT, FELLOW PROCRASTINATING WRITIERS, IS HOW YOU WRITE A FINISHED BOOK. (or story, whatever floats your goat)

it is nearly midnight why am i on tumblr

SO

I would like it to be known that I struggle for like TWO HOURS to write a 1K, regardless of fanfic or original work

but then

THEN

i write a fanfic ABOUT a fanfic with my own beloved OCs and I write nearly 2K in half an hour?? and the words flowed ok??

AND I CANT EVEN POST IT BC I DONT WANNA RIP THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR’S UNIVERSE OFF

w h y did i read like 500K words in like 3 days?? idk that may not be a lot but this author has an iron grip on me

i just h a d to read like 250/280 of their works didn’t I

read through the sky blue cracks on AO3 you people it will k i l l you but it’s the best thing ever

Okay this is kinda a stupid thought I had once I got over the craziness of Odysseus.

All the like middle aged men are dead cuz of the war except for the weak and cowardly

And now Odysseus has killed all the suitors which was basically all the younger men of Ithaca. Plus some faraway princes and such

So in doing that he basically made Telemachus the most eligible bachelor in all of Ithaca and the neighboring kingdom.

His first day as a dad and he’s already wingmaning his son

i just wrote a Thing focusing on Menelaus but the unfortunate thing is that when you’re in Menelaus’ perspective u gotta compliment Agamemnon at least once
