I want to talk about how much I ADORE your writing and say thank you for doing it! both of your aus are some of my favorite fics, I love them so much!

I read pretty boy just a few days after it was posted and ever since I have been HOOKED. I just finished reading rereading it, so i’ve read it three times now, and am about to reread traveling thieves, so I thought I should probably give my appreciation for one of my favorite fics.

you have definitely inspired me in my own writing journey, I recently started writing and posting to ao3, and I realize I’ve been thinking about your writing while doing it. since I love your fics I’ve been taking inspiration from your writing style, both consciously and subconsciously.

I could go on more, but instead I will cut myself off, but first I have one question. why are Martyn’s eyes green? at least in ttsbc, I don’t remember what they were in tt. it just bugged me so much, not in the way that it’s a problem because it’s not, but I just wonder why, because his skin has blue eyes? is there a reason, was it a mistake, or did you just want to give him green eyes?

Ok, so Martyn's eyes are green for a very stupid reason, and that reason is that Ren's eyes are very prominently pale blue in the way I write him? and for some reason in my brain I just didn't like the idea of Martyn having the same eye color as Ren? So I was just like 'alright, he's very green-coded, congrats Martyn you have green eyes now' and that was that XD It really wasn't anything fancy!

HI!

So in TTSBC, there are a few colors rules I like to use. If you wanna go deep after this lil info dump, check out the greys/blacks I use as well.

Blue - the color of freedom, the color of hope. It shows up in the sky, Scott but it also shows up in Hot Guy's uniform as well as Ren's eyes. It serves as an ideal but it also serves as a pushing color. It moves things. (hence it also shows up in the whites of Etho's design)

Yellow - a color of power or value. The director in yellow is a symbol of power, Jimmy one of the most physically strong avians, is very yellow coded, and Blackwell has blonde hair. Also shows up in Martyn's hair design as well as being a lighting choice I use to highlight skill/power.

Red - The Undercity. I use a lot of red/blacks in my work. It's a color of oppression, of suffocation. Red appears frequently in my undercity designs. Grian, Pearl, and Ren often wear it, but it's noticeable in Doc's eye. He cannot shake that suffocation of the depths.

Green - Stable characters, supports. Doc weirdly enough is a green character. He is the support to Etho's (blue) movement and his children. Martyn is another green support character in relation to Scott's blue. Cub is a *teal* which is a blue green, he's movement and stability to Scar.

Purple - generally a neutral color. These also tend to be stable characters (think Xisuma, BigB who gets a purple blue) but this can break into a character who is in a weird middle ground (think Zed's eye color or the colors I like to use around scenes that are midway between worlds.) I'll let you draw your own conclusions of what our dear Author's small featured moments in my art mean.

I'm sure y'all can go through and find more stuff that I've intentionally neglected to tell ya but I *can* tell ya that I'm going to be sprinkling this in heavily for Whumptober!!!!

TAMN by Locke and Key is one of my favorite AU's! They did such a good job with the fic, showing nuanced character development. I'm also a big fan of the art.

The Wolf by hn-undercover-9503 is also AMAZING. I really appreciate the Dogwood dynamic in that fic as well as the worldbuilding.

This isn’t rude at all! The answer is a solid ‘maybe’ because while I do have other ideas for that AU, I dunno if they’ll ever go anywhere, and so I hesitate to promise that it’ll be a full fledged AU like TTSBC or TT! But I might still do fics for it! Whumptober is on the horizon after all! ☺️
