Yes. Yes I have seen him. He is unfortunately not an Iktomisaurus like I was hoping for but I am NOT complaining. His design isn’t my favourite and it does feel a little weaker than the others (Might be because he’s white. Sir WHY are you white…), but that doesn’t mean I dislike it!!! Plus his SIZE 👀👀👀

And this, my friends, is how a one chapter story triples in length 🫠

Take this as my official announcement that there will be a delay in posting the continuation. Because the three course meal that I had been cooking has now turned into a whole buffet that needs to be made. More time is needed, but MORE FOOD!!!

Initial plan was to have the build-up (Short), main event (Long), and wrap-up (Short) all done in one chapter. But then I suddenly had—more accurately, insisted, as no one’s forcing me to do this except my own innate desire to lovingly destroy a fictional character’s hips—to take into account another person…

I’m not sure what’s it like for other writers, but for me, adding just one person to the yeehaw can nearly DOUBLE it in length.

Which is why I ended up splitting the story into three chapters. Build-up (Long) in the first, main event (Celestial save me) in the second, and wrap-up (Long) in the third. For your information, at present, the second chapter is nearly 4k words long in PLANNING. I haven’t even got to writing yet! Let me just say I’m having a LOT of fun!!!

Take this as a teaser but for the few who particularly ship Wayna/Kinich (Whether via my conversion or your own brain, you’re amazing) you will be in for a treat!!!

Can anyone confirm if Biram is or is not the one that tried to banish Ororon to the shadow realm (Read: sacrifice) when he was a baby? From what I read I don’t think so, but I can’t be too sure? I haven’t played the other world quests and stuff so I’m not sure how much lore will they reference, though I doubt it since they’re usually more world buildy and stuff

Citlali mentions that the one who tried to yeet Ororon was “the chief at the time”, which implies the role already changed hands. What happened then? Is he like Amina in which he inherited the role from a relative? How old is he?

Biram’s CN voice (Language I play in) sounds pretty youthful, as in he sounds like he’s in his twenties, but his EN voice (Seen from online videos) sounds like he’s in his thirties-forties? Considering a literal kid AKA Amina is chief how old was he when he assumed the role? How does any of this matter to the smut fic I’m in the midst of writing?

Side tangent regarding voices, Mutota sounds SO different in each of the 4 languages. I switched between them when he was standing around in the Interlude quest (Forgot to do the same with Biram during the Tribal Chronicles HAHA) and I’m very conflicted??? Can Mutota be found in the overworld? I haven’t completed the last Flower-Feather Tribal Chronicle AKA Chasca’s quest and I can’t find him? Will he only appear afterwards?

CN Mutota sounds pretty old, then I switched to JP and was suddenly hit with the youthful ikemen kira kira sparkle and went HUH??? KR sounds sexier and more mature but not old before EN loops right back to being old. This is Vichama all over again help hoW OLD ARE YOU PEOPLE???

ALSO DID ANYONE ELSE GET STUCK ON THE DAMN PUZZLE IN THE MASTERS OF THE NIGHT-WIND TRIBAL CHRONICLE? I had to look up a guide and at that point I was just banging on the mirror yelling ‘BIRAM GET ME OUT OF HERE I’M STUPID YOUR GREAT ELDER MADE A FLUKE IN CHOOSING THE SCROLL WEAVER 😭’

Regarding if the series will have Kinich ships with other playables, the answer is YES!! I don’t write Traveller (Aether in this case) ships, so no Aekini unfortunately, but I’ll definitely be writing for Ororon! Same with Ajaw, Capitano, and Ifa (In Ifa’s case I’ll be waiting for more canon information on him first!)

Don’t expect Playable/Kinich anytime soon however… After the 5.2 update stream swung the wrecking ball that is Mutota (Flower-Feather chief) into my psyche I’m in the utter depths of NPC hell HAHAHHA

WHAT CAN I SAY I’M PREDICTABLE 😭😭😭 The unique designs for the Natlan chiefs have been incredible so far (Helps that they’re darker than most of the playables… the bar is SO low it’s in hell) and Mutota continues that trend!

Considering Never Turn Back is just a NPC-appreciation fest poorly disguised as a Kinich smut series what did you expect 😭 Every Natlan update consists of me going ‘Hmm who can I ship Kinich with this time???’ and it takes priority over everything else!!!

I like Chasca and Ororon’s personalities but they shall be unfortunately overshadowed by Mr Random NPC Mutota. If it’s not him, it’s going to be Chasca’s mother and our newest little buddy. Lasers are always fun, and I’m really looking forward to Chasca’s interactions with her Sauro-mama!! Citlali and Ororon’s interactions already proved to be absolute gold, so I’m also excited for more of those!! But Mutota remains priority number 1 HAHAHA

Anyway, I agree about reading the tags because some people just put the most hilarious stuff in there!! Regarding the Natlan characters, they do fit the vibe of ZZZ! Meanwhile, when we reach Snezhnaya, I won’t even be surprised if Tartaglia’s limousine can fly with wheels that can turn into jets or something HAHAHA

Regarding the 5.2 stream, there’s only one part of it I distinctly remember

Mutota.

The hat + weirdly shaped goggles(?) is extremely doofy but the rest of him had me going WHAT??? I wasn’t expecting to see any of the chiefs in the stream so he completely blindsided me like FUCK HE’S HOT??? Shirtless?? Scars?? ACTUALLY HAS KIND OF A TAN???

Previously, I was deliberating on whether I should start writing my Kinich/Male Tribe Chiefs story for the Never Turn Back series. On one hand, I have so much ideas for it, though on the other, I wanted to wait for all the Tribe Chiefs to make their appearances before doing anything. But then Mutota came swinging in with a YEEHAW and now you bet I’ll be speedrunning the story once the update drops. I’m so excited to see his personality!!! You can expect a story featuring our 3/4 Tribe Chiefs soon LMAO

Which brings me to my next point. I’m really looking forward to meeting the Masters of the Night-Wind’s chief! As nice as it to have another man, I’m also half hoping their chief is just the very wise Iktomisaur Elder because that’ll be HILARIOUS

Side note, but why does everyone in the Flower-Feather Clan look like cowboys??? I’m probably just uneducated and missing some cultural nuance but Natlan’s such a confusing amalgamation of IRL cultures I gave up 🙃

That aside, after rewatching the stream, here are my thoughts. One, Mutota. Two, Mutota. Three, CHASCA’S SAURIAN MUM YESSSSSS!!!! Four, why is the update’s drawing featuring Citlali and Ororon? Plus there’s also a very tiny and random NPC in the middle??? It’s pretty but Chasca’s getting completely overshadowed even though she’s the 5 star of this update HAHAHA

I’m calling it now: Citlali’s going to be Genshin’s new favourite child. First it was Ayaka, then it was Arlecchino, and now Citlali…

Why why why why is Ororon a 4 Star Electro bow??? We have Fischl, Sethos, and Sara already??? Couldn’t they have made him a 5 star??? Or another weapon??? At least we have our first Electro Tall Male I guess??? Here’s hoping Ifa’s going to be an Anemo Tall Male because the ranks have been all very adorable boys for now…

They’re really making us wait for the Collective of Plenty, aren’t they? Though I’m glad we’re getting more Iansan! Plus Capitano’s going to show up too! And of course we also got a glimpse of Ifa’s house(?) so that’s a nice bonus!

We’re getting a new buddy to follow us around!! Our Little One is finally going to get more friends!!

The newest boss has a really cool design, but the gameplay looks like a PAIN. It’s essentially just a reskin of a bunch of other bosses, which I’m not too thrilled about, and I’m really hoping they don’t shove it in the Spiral Abyss because it looks like a HUGE time sink…

Lastly, shoutout to Gabe and Kai from the localisation team!! Absolute heroes for stepping up while the Voice Actors are rightfully fighting for their rights. Damn shitty companies selling their soul to robots again. Negativity aside, Gabe and Kai sound MUCH more natural in this stream compared to the previous one!! It was so pleasant to watch!! To be honest, I wouldn’t mind having them present all the update streams from now on 🤣

While the VAs make streams sound like a fun party, which is great of course, these two feel like we’re sitting down with friends and chatting over a nice drink. Both have their charms, but I personally like the localisation team’s more because of how straightforward their delivery of information is HAHAH

About the technology tangent I agree! Also design wise Sumeru and Fontaine technology also still have some sort of fantasy-esque(???) appeal to them?? Like Sumeru basically had wi-fi and some sort of search engine thingy accessible from anyone and it didn't feel weird. Natlan on the other hand.. it's just out of place, their clothing too?? Natlan aesthetic feels a little bit like someone attached "modern!AU" tag to it xD a character could whip out a cellphone at some point and I wouldn't be surprised by it which is super weird!!! Crossing my fingers for a possible technically advanced tribe xD

Like jeans and turntables and graffiti and whatnot. It feels like we’re suddenly playing Honkai Star Rail instead…

You’re so right about the ‘Modern AU’ tag HAHAHA I’m honestly wondering how far they’d take Snezhnaya right now… Like imagine when the Traveller steps foot in the country Tartaglia just pulls up in a limousine going ‘Hey buddy/girlie it’s been awhile!!!’ and throws them a touchscreen smartphone to keep in contact or something??

Honestly at this point I just want to get ANY explanation, no matter how shoddy, as to how Natlan beat out Fontaine and Sumeru in the technology department. A tribe being specialised in technology would be wonderful (Because we’d actually get a REASON) but from what we know of the remaining three for now, it doesn’t seem likely 😖

Yes!! It’s great to see more Lyney/Kinich around mostly because I’m just that starved for Kinich ships HAHAHA

I’m screaming into the void for Ifa to appear already 😩 Interactions with Capitano and Ororon too!! Ororon seems the most plausible since they’re part of the six heroes, but at the same time they’re both super bad at social interaction HAHAHA

Maybe Ifa can come in and bridge the gap between them? He does seem like a pretty social guy. I mean, they all have two hands 👀

I can only really picture fucking machines in Snezhnaya because it seems the most technologically advanced place for now. Fontaine too, maybe???

I think Kinich would be neutral to meh about being strapped onto one to be honest. He seems like someone that values intimacy, so if his partner is strapping him onto some machine, the sex kind of loses its closeness? Like if he’s going to get overstimulated he’d rather it be on someone’s dick than a machine.

If his partner is really into it though, and said partner’s someone he’s close to (Basically not some casual fuckbuddy) he’ll happily hop in for their viewing pleasure! He’s just doting like that!!
