Last year I watched Samurai 7 for the first time. I had been wanting to watch it for years and it really was worth it when I finally got to it. It's full of great character designs but my absolute favorite are the city guards. I decided to build a cosplay for them and continue my trend of cosplaying obscure characters. :)

Coincidentally, the series is 20 years old this year, what great timing!

#like i spent my whole life drawing and then i spent six years writing and two years knitting my own clothing and four years taking professi #nal photos and most recently ive taken up bookbinding and acting and these dudes like to drink and go on their phones #and by whole life drawing i mean i was drawing daily since i was two and with a pointed focus on constant improvement starting at 10 #and training between 13-17 and then a 3 year break starting at 19 and then the odd comic or illustration niw #now #youre telling me your hobbies are DRINKING and GOING ON YOUR PHONE???#they’ll be like ‘’im funnier than everyone i know’’ and every time its just code for ‘’i like nick mullen’’. okay who cares #they’re always like wow niku ive never met a girl who i can do bits with before. yes you have but im the only one willing to entertain your #stupid fucking bits. if they talk about bits thats a big hint they are not funny #bits are just generally not funny also call them what they are. sometimes i'm like. am i actually a narcissist? just for a moment. then i remember that from the ages of like 12-19 i eschewed all other photographs or more normal forms of decoration to keep a framed photo of myself on either my desk or my bedside table where i could look at it constantly. cuz i thought i looked cute and confident and no it did not occur to me i might like to have a photo of like, a family member or some cool trees or something i just took like 7 years to go huh wait other people don't keep a photograph of themselves on their desks? what do you do when you want to look at yourself go all the way to a mirror??? anyway it wasn't realizing this was unusual that made me stop the photo just got water damage

#rip it genuinely made me so happy bc it was like 10-y-oldish me lounging upside down in a chair #with my hands behind my head just smiling the hugest most smug smile #everything Went Wrong when i was 8 or 9 so maybe i was younger when it was taken? or i was just on an upswing/good day #but tinyme exuded so much confidence in that photo it acted like a coping mechanism trigger object #id look at it and just go 'hell YEAH we're crushing it'. (reader i was not crushing it ever)#anyway just thought of this bc i was thinking abt the shit therapist i saw once b4 i got a better one recently #where i shared i 'found it useful to use npd as a framework to help me manage' i.e 'i self-dxed and i'm right but i'm gonna act #like i could be wrong. also all dxes are bullshit to some degree'#and then like. 5 min later i was explaining some of the things i've already worked on and what i wanted to #and my general mental profile blah blah. and she was like 'um... wow you think a lot about yourself!' and i literally just.#looked at her and then pointed to myself and said 'i mean #narcissism...'#anyway she got fired or smth and the guy i have now is chill. this can count as a life update ig #sunflower radio hour #vic talks #my arms are killing me i should not have typed...........
