Nibelheim Incident ain't happening on my watch. Not in my AU. Nuh uh. Because someone actually cares enough about Seph to realise him being in a library for a week with no food, water or sleep is BAD and DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

She also notices how uncomfortable/frustrated he is to be talked into having a photo taken here.

And this is the supposed correct heights for all of them so please just turn a blind eye to all the inconsistent height differences between the two in all my other drawings, k, ty, cough cough.

I haven't fully figured out the exact stage of events but have typed up several scenarios. Aqua would have met up with Sephiroth a fair bit earlier so a bond was already established. He would be confused why she was actually interested in the more human/domestic side of him and be drawn to her. One of them is where he was already headed out to burn the place down but Aqua woke up that same night, saw his room was still empty and ran out to stop him. She gets badly hurt in the process but convinces him to return to the hotel with no one else knowing what almost happened. Another is simply emotional conversation in the library and her convincing him that they need more solid evidence behind his findings and solving the corruption of the matter peacefully.

And she forces him to eat and drink and sleep so he has a clearer head and feels someone is emotionally supporting him. - ^ -

I was quite nervous doing this one despite my sass in the initial paragraph because it's finally something in a FF7 setting, and my background is fairly limited to KH only.

Anyway, thanks for reading my conjurings of happier timez, as usual.

Random note: Tifa's modified outfit was intentional. (It's not a mistake.) I prefer the women I draw to be a tad more clothed wherever possible. > - >

This is my shitty process for a more simple background, usually for the city drawings i need to use ref to not go insane 😂, i would upload another vid but it only lets me add one :pp

Anywho, when it comes to those more complex bgs, I’ll take a use a real life photo (taken by me or someone else) you can use walking around vids or even google maps, Pinterest, etc.

B-24D Boogie Woogie Bomb Buggie by TK622 Via Flickr: B-24D serial, and unit unknown. Pacific Theater. The format, the photo paper and the Do Not Mail stamp on the back are identical to photos of 43rd Bomb Group aircraft in my collection which I know to be from the same photographer. I assume this photo was taken/developed around the same time as the 43rd BG photos. Which could hint at the aircraft possibly belonging to the 43rd BG. It is definitely not the Boogie Woogie Bomb Buggy of the 7th Bomb Group, wich flew in the CBI theater. That aircraft was a B-24J, and Buggy was spelled with a y. Other photos of this aircraft exist showing the distinct greenhouse nose of the D model. This photo seems to show it after a powered nose turret was installed, since, to me, the shape of the nose does not look like the standard unmodified D type. But the full front end is not visible, so that is only speculation.

my art process has changed a bit since i last posted a step by step... i would say my ideation phase is still

seeing something that really makes me want to draw (ie alien stage round 6 or a really good gacha card (sorry) ) or forcing out thumbnails

go on my pinterest board of poses/colours from other artists i like for the general vibe (i reference a lot from my own photos as well, usually pics i take around my city/a lot of selfies taken from 0.5x angle LOL)

and then start the drawing. usually not a lot of thumbnailing..i would like to get better at that to explore more interesting compositions >_< also trying to flatten my art style a bit but i still go overboard with rendering extraneously oops

these days im also switching back to paint tool sai/csp on my pen tablet rather than procreate..i really dont like the blending engine sometimes and it makes it really difficult for me to motivate myself to paint there. i guess walking through a recent painting i like:

sketch on a colour bg ( usually this kind of decides the colour palette for the rest of the painting, building off of this main bg colour) (i erased some of it bc i was using it in the final painting ^^;;; it gets redrawn on top a little)

blocking the main foreground - sword, horse - just going from dark foreground > middle > background lightest as a frame of reference, having the least amount of detail at the right since i want the horse's hind legs to fade out in perspective

3. layer at a light opacity using a big brush to just suggest light/shadows (yellow at bottom right and around her face to complement and contrast the blue/purple)

4. render details (this is what gets me and i am very lazy and typically give up on a piece once we get here. working on it..)

5. yeah. done! outline some desaturated areas (horse hind legs) with a saturated colour found elsewhere in the painting (lighter colour of the bg) and then add final touchups on top of everything. my layers dont make sense. also i love using the fringe effect on sai to fake edges/lines (every layer has it. yay)

Okokokokok I’m so excited to share these because a lot of them are so good.

I love these three so much because they feel like they were taken by professional photographers. Like these are computer wallpapers someone made or images you’d see in a calendar. Literally stunning.

This picture feels staged. I’ll say it a lot with these pictures, but the composition is so good it’s insane. It’s giving Top Gun with the sunglasses (which is maybe why I like it?) but I just think this belongs in a gallery or something.

This feels like a renaissance painting. Like actually. The painting in the background definitely helps, but it’s giving Knights of the Round Table vibes, you know? I love this picture so so so much.

It’s how the man on the left has his arm draped around his shoulder, resting on the middle man’s chest. With how the middle man is holding the newspaper while leaning back into the embrace, we can tell that this is just so natural for them. It looks like they’ve been sitting like this for hours and could be sitting like that for hours more. And the middle man is poking the man on the right, who is also leaning back against the man in the middle, maybe to show him something he saw in the newspaper? It’s just so intimate, and I’m soooo happy for them even if it is entirely platonic.

A very candid shot. Makes me feel like we were robbed of a volleyball montage a la Top Gun. I feel like Buck and Bucky would be a killer in duos or maybe a trio with Biddick as their setter? Anyway, I just enjoy pictures of the boys living their lives and enjoying themselves, because who knows how many of them made it home.

It’s silly and goofy and fun. It may just be the fact that I tend to sit everywhere but in an actual chair, but I think that looks like a very comfy spot to sit. I’m not sure why I like it so much, I just do :)

The composition of this picture is pure gold. I’m specifically referring to the way the empty chair in the middle is slightly askew and paired with how candid it feels, it’s amazing. Photographers could spend ages trying to stage photos that look like this and still not get it right. It may seem boring but pictures like this are my favorite.

Of course I need to include one of my boy, Croz. He’s not in a lot of pictures in the later years of the war which makes this one pretty special in my opinion. You can tell that he’s such a central figure in navigation without knowing who he is, like you just know that he’s the guy™️. I love this picture so much, it’s my go-to when I talk about the impact he made on the 100th BG.

Chapter 44: During the murder mystery arc, after Sebastian’s presumed “death,” Finny reflects on how the servants owe their happy life at the manor to him and their young master (This is fine. I’m fine. I’m definitely not crying right now).

Chapter 84: O!Ciel returns from Weston College to find Old Man Sam’s wayward sheep causing mischief.

Chapter 85: The family that goes on shopping trips together stays together!

Guess this is a good way to kick off pride month. I had this scene in mind forever, but having the motivation to draw a comic is always very limited with me, and I still wish I had the patience to make the shading less sloppy. Ah well.

Side note: Mihail speaks Romanian, as he spent most of his human-form life there/considers it his mother tongue despite not actually being born there, so that's the language he's using (saying "yes madam" and "Thanks" if my research is correct. I hope so at least).

(He was born I.E 'manifested' in Ukraine, (TLDR: He's a Grimmhound, they aren't born biologically as they are spirit beings) but lived most of his life in Romania. He still has a Slavic accent, that tends to come through when he's super emotional)

I was kind of uncertain how to include him speaking Romanian in a "natural" way, until I remembered that oh yeah, I'm bilingual too (I keep forgetting it because English is so incredibly common to use in everyday life here lol). So, I kinda thought about how I sometimes use English and Finnish together, and based it on that.

The BG stuff uses photos I've taken, specifically the windows.
