It blows my mind that by giving the mithril shirt to Bilbo, Thorin indirectly saved Frodo and thus prevented the Ring-bearer from dying and the Quest from failing. The world was ultimately saved because the exiled King Under the Mountain fell in love with a hobbit.

The dwarves choosing “friend” as the password for the Moria, their greatest and most glorious kingdom, is the Middle Earth version of people choosing “password” as their password

One of my favorite things about the Fellowship in Moria is how Frodo is initially thought of as being killed in the cave troll attack, so when Aragorn grabs Frodo on the way out and the hobbit begins to complain and wiggle in his arms it jumpscares Aragorn so much that he almost drops him in 'cause he briefly thought that this little friend's spear-pierced corpse suddenly started moving and screaming in grasp

I know that Moira's birthday is on september 6th, but I had to draw this now.  Just a pleasant memory.

At that moment a thunderous crash sent everyone, living and dead, whirling to stare at Pippin Took.

"Oops," he said, his eyes wide and his face sheepish.

"Did he just throw Grechar down a well?" Ori demanded incredulously.

"This Hobbit is related to Bilbo," retorted Óin, and he ignored Thorin's sudden dark look. "He's goin' to do stupid things in spectacular fashion every now an' then."

"You will take that back," Thorin growled.

"One word, your majesty," Óin snapped. "Trolls."
