Regulus who escapes the cave with his right arm torn to shit and yet, seemingly in a twisted joke at his expense, his left arm practically unmarred.

He and Kreature hide out in a old family estate (Kreature is believed to be out searching for the missing heir by the Blacks) and every night the mark burns his skin and he scratches till his arm bleeds. He tries everything to get it to stop, cutting himself with his nails and with knives to get it to stop--- it doesn't. It gives him some semblance of control over the pain but the mark's comes back ten fold afterwards every time.

One night as he's wandering the abandoned estates halls desperate for a distraction he spots a butcher knife. Nice and sharp.

Kreature is woken by the resounding thump! that echos through the house, entering the kitchen to find his master smiling for the first time in years--- laughing for the first time in years--- while holding the bloody knife in his right hand.

Using the BBC news intro music before Sam spoke made me laugh, thank you for some on point humor in these trying times.

We actually found a sting that sounded even closer to the real BBC news intro, but which went on for way too long, maybe for a solid 45 seconds (the music just escalating constantly, getting more and more grandiose and inspiring with every repetition of the 'clock' beeps, but never actually hitting the hour). I really would have enjoyed the joke of including that in full, but I imagine some people might have understandably assumed we'd lost our minds.

The haze intensifies and my thoughts are only of sleep and the things I love. I love my bed. My bed is liminal. A pocket dimension. Something that exists out of time where no one can touch me. Nothing can happen while I find shelter under the bundled duvet.

The thought of my bed inspires me to act, only to stand and find myself floating towards that sacred place, where I become unconscious and Sleep greets me once more.

I wish I was drunk tonight. But sadly that’s expensive and my body would reject me and start pleading for Death to take his brother’s place.

So instead of sleep, I guess I’ll write.

i just wish people learnt this from me, i had no malice when i brought love in waves, because the occurrence, the spur of those, it was my best loving self that i poured out. i had very beautiful friendships that i lost because i felt like it was demanding me love that im unable to give at my lowest so i learnt people's ways to scheme their forever presence in my life. im still slowly unlearning that but letting the nature of every kind of connection do its thing comes naturally after all

i’d say the best thing i have learned this year is to just let people be who they naturally are. no psychoanalyzing them, no overthinking my actions, no asking what i could possibly do to keep their presence in my life. i just bring my best self to the table and always move from a place of love and respect. how that person responds is ultimately up to them. if that causes them to exit my life, i just let it happen. i will never be in the business of changing people. people are only ever ready to change when they’ve made the conscious decision to. all i can do is check myself and be kind always.
