I'm really curious about how much the girls ACTUALLY know about how the boys died. While the audience is privy to flashbacks that explain it, the girls aren't - unless, the Night Nurse is somrhow able to show them Charles' memories, which I doubt because I think A, we'd have seen a bigger reaction from Crystal and Niko, and B, I think they all would have been much more understanding of the visceral and emotional reaction Charles has after to the Night Nurse goading and mocking him while forcing him to relive those big traumas.
The only thing they (Really, just Crystal) gets is when Edwin says that his death was an "act of God" and Charles' was "covered up" by the school. Which isn't exactly descriptive. I feel like Crystal and Niko don't fully grasp that the boys are genuinely ghosts who genuinely died and are, as such, super fucking trauamatised because of it. And, I think it'd be super intreasting to see how the girls react to finding out these things about them, especially with the fact that Crystal seemed to have been quite the bully in the past (and both boys were killed by bullies) and Niko mentions having gone to a boarding school where she left because she felt alone and outcasted (mainly due to her fathers death, but come on, I'll be damn shocked if there wasn't some sort of teen bullying there) the compsrisons and paralelles are really interesting to me and I want it explored more.

Something that catched my attention during today's episode, was that Laios doesn't mind being patted on the head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think he is a bit surprised Chilchuck does that, because he knows well enough chilchuck hates when people do that to him. Chilchuck's revenge doesn't bother him as he thought it would. I'd say he's thinking "when was the last time someone did this to me?". He lacks of caring father figure and then this guy, who, apparently, is a dad, un-shrinks and pats him.
He feels... It's wierd. It isn't disgusting, but isn't as nice as he thought those things were. He feels... He finds himself feeling nothing and wondering if he should feel something. Annoyance, at least. But no, he just feels this wierd thing inside of him. Because it was nice. It was a soft touch, even if it was teasing, it was nice. But he doesn't feel the warmness that should come with a care. He doesn't feel anything. It's like when Chil kicks him behind the knee. It's the same kind of message the one that pat gives him, but, for some reason, instead of a kick, this time it was a pat. And it feels... wierd. Not in an even remotely romantic way, not even close. Just... "how am I supoused to react?" He doesn't know what to say, so he doesn't say anything. He just knows he isn't used to this kind of things happening. How is he supoused to react? Marcille and Chil both get annoyed when patted. He should be? He wonders. But why would he? It isn't bad- it doesn't feel bad, it's just... How is he supoused to know how does this feels? It doesn't feels like much. At all. Why do they both make such a fuss about it? Sure it isn't the best feeling in the world, but... It isn't as bad as they make it look.
He doesn't know how to react, what to do, but before he has an answer, or has to worry about thinking it too much, the teasing stops and they're on their feet again.

Thinking about how Diavolo’s feelings transcend time and how in the Nightbringer UR+ card Demon Lord’s Castle Tour this conversation happens.
When asked, “Do you wish to see your father?”
Diavolo responds:
Tumblr media
“I suppose I do . . .” isn’t the typical reaction to how a child would feel about wanting to see their parent. Especially when said parent has essentially been in a coma for a year.
Along with how Diavolo describe his father.
Tumblr media
It makes more sense why when you learn in Lesson 56 how Diavolo was treated by him growing up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diavolo can tell when others are lying but is unable to understand his father’s intentions.
Diavolo mentions that he lived a very sheltered life growing up. That from a young age his father never allowed him a chance to talk to anyone outside the castle.
His childhood friend was Mephistopheles. A demon literally RAISED to be his friend. Putting a barrier between the two because Mephistopheles would put Diavolo on a pedestal.
Tumblr media
The isolating childhood he experienced riddled with his strict father constantly scolding him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite everything MC is so important to him he wants to see his father again so we can meet.

just thinking of a scene that mirrors the buck and bobby scene from “heartbreaker” in season one where bobby is helping buck get ready for a really important night. but instead of getting ready for a first date, it’s buck getting ready to propose to tommy. and he is super nervous and jittery and is rambling on and on about what ifs and thinking of the worse. and bobby is there reassuring him that nothing is going to go wrong because buck love tommy and tommy loves buck. it gets raw and emotional and it ends with buck saying “how do i look?” and bobby saying “you look real handsome” as he holds back the tears that are filling in his eyes bc that’s his boy and he’s grown so much since they last did this and his heart is about to burst out of his chest at the thought of buck getting married and having babies and having the unconditional love and stability that he has been craving for so long.

I will never be over how good Leo and Hueso’s dynamic is and how both of them get so much out of having the other in their lives.
In Leo’s case, he gains that older male figure in his life that he is willing to trust and lower his walls for. He gains a confidant where he has none elsewhere, too busy keeping up his many masks with his family to ever consider showing them his true thoughts. He gains an authority figure who is willing to hear him out, no matter how reluctant said figure initially appears.
In Hueso’s case, Leo’s direct involvement in the skeleton’s life has undoubtedly benefited Hueso so unbelievably well. For one, it’s Leo’s choice to ask Hueso for help finding his brothers that ultimately leads to the clearing of Hueso’s Hidden City ban. Then, it’s Leo and Mikey that Hueso brings on to help him with two mob bosses, ending with the bosses no longer being a problem for Hueso. And of course, through Leo’s decision to come to Hueso for advice and later the slider’s insistence that Hueso try to make up with his brother, Hueso’s estranged relationship with Piel is finally mended.
Sure, Leo causes no small amount of strife and damages to Hueso’s business and person, and Hueso is often annoyed by and speaks callously to Leo, but there’s a reason Leo feels comfortable enough to continue going to Hueso, and there’s a reason Hueso ultimately always hears Leo out.
They really do end up feeling like a nephew and uncle, don’t they?

What's your opinion on Hermes in adaptations ? I personally think that, like with other gods, a lot of nuance is often lost.
He's usually just a fun speedy guy in modern vision and we don't really see his status as god of merchants, travels, rhetoric, theft or his role as a psychopomp. It's really a shame, honestly.
He's portrayed as a bit witty, but I'd love to see him more as a trickster god (like in Argos' story), a persuasive talker, a traveler who explores the world and his relationships to mortals and various gods alike.
(like his relationship to youthfulness, being the second youngest Olympian, at odds with Apollo before reaching an agreement, taking care of Pan then Dionysus, some interactions with his mom Maia or his chthonic coworkers, etc...)
Idk I wanted to talk about him a bit instead of complaining about Dionysus for the 100th time this week 🤣. Since Hermes is your favorite god, I thought it'd interest you 😉.
@superkooku thank you for this ask aaaahhhh!!!
Honestly, Hermes as a deity has so many layers of potential when it comes to story writing, and while he is a Certified Happy Go Lucky Extrovert^TM, there are so many aspects of him that aren't just the comedic messenger!!
I could make a list of all the aspects of Hermes I'd personally love to see more in modern media, so here we go:
Hermes' role as the god of thieves and trickery (his darker self, his suave nature, how he killed one of Hera's favorite servants so effortlessly and still remains in her good graces? His caduceus has two snakes- in a dual way representing his slyness along with his role as a protector)
Hermes' role as the god of trade and merchants (you telling me my boy won't be good at haggling prices and owning the market? I need some version of him where he owns the black market or some crazy stuff)
Hermes' role as a psychopomp (and by extension his relationship with his Uncle Hades. What is his relationship with the other chthonic gods? I love what Hades Supergiant did with Hermes/Charon but I long for more! Especially when he's very much there as Persephone's personal escort to and fro the Underworld. Thanatos should not get all the credit for reaping souls and guiding them home. )
Hermes and Maia (extroverted son, introverted mom, so many things we can explore here! How he felt growing up in that cave, his relationship with Arcas who his mother adopted!)
Hermes and Zeus (his aspect of being the god of hospitality!!) (Modern Media might never give us the Zeus-Hermes-Baucis-Philemon adventures but I am still for it always)
Hermes' mental health and depression (+ the bad side of his relationship with his mother and father) (more specifically Lucian Dialogues of the Gods 4, where Hermes states he is the most miserable god in all heaven, working every day and waiting upon Zeus' grander sons from mortal women. Now in my interpretation, Zeus wouldn't be that harsh to Hermes to make him almost like an indentured servant, but reading this dialogue you can really feel his exhaustion from the God of Trade and many other things. We can all relate to the feeling of being brushed off when you're feeling down, and I think this is the least likely aspect of Hermes to be explored since we will be putting him out of the "lucky, carefree" god persona that most put him in)
Hermes and Atlas (going back to Dialogue 4, Hermes mentions being the grandson of Atlas. I find it fascinating bc how does Hermes feel looking at his grandfather? Does he hate his grandfather for siding with Kronos? Does he resent his dad for creating this void for them to not have a relationship? Does he fear that if he steps out of line Zeus could do the same to him? Does he talk to Atlas forced to hold up the sky? Very compelling stuff)
Hermes and Hera (*holds them very tightly* they are the stepmother and stepson duo. Hera can be a certified Apollo-Artemis-Dionysus hater but has almost no hate for Hermes from what I know. There is no retaliation for Argos' death, and we all know Hera can hold a grudge! She milked him once in an obscure myth and that makes him her honorary son alongside Heracles, even appearing to bind Ixion alongside Ares, Hera's biological son. Hermes even makes an effort to deliver all of the invitations to her wedding to Zeus. Sure all of these can be explained by his messenger/servant role, but they seem to have an amicable and fun relationship that most media just writes them down as "Hera hates him" looking at you Blood of Zeus **EDIT: all of these are mostly headcanon-territory, so apologies for that!)
Hermes and Perseus and his role as helper of heroes (his canon bf... people out there shipping Perseus and Medusa when HERMES IS RIGHT. THERE! Perseus is called a beloved of Hermes and I'm sad that people are erasing that in their Perseus retellings. Gifts seem to be a love language for Hermes since he gives him his sandals, sword AND invisibility helm free of charge)
Hermes and Ares / Mercury and Mars (sorry I'm biased the Ares stan in me is coming out forgive me I think Hermes and Ares as a symbiotic relationship is something that can be explored more. The Jar Myth where Hermes saves Ares lets into some of the vulnerabilities Ares has, Lucian Dialogue #1 and the differences with how they view Zeus, war vs diplomacy, both being athletic gods, both being lovers of dogs, and many other things I can pitch for the secret Ares/Hermes fans out there)
Hermes and Dionysus (more modern media of Hermes taking care of his little bro-bro!! To be best buds in the future, that's just so endearing and sweet and we need more interactions between them. Their duality is similar to Ares/Hermes, with the additional madness factor. How would Hermes react to Dionysus' darkest side as his guardian and brother? Also, Hermes would definitely shake up Dionysus' parties. Would they murder together? Maybe. Definitely.)
