Nightbringer didn’t change why Lilith was punished in Lesson 12.

I keep seeing people misunderstand Lucifer’s explanation on Lilith. So I wanted to clarify some misconceptions I see being spread around.

In Obey Me Shall We Date we learn Lilith was punished for giving forbidden food from the Celestial Realm to save her sick human lover.

It’s also important to note that angels are prohibited from interfering in the lives of humans.

In Obey Me Nightbringer Lucifer explains,

“I told her she could never visit the human world again. I tried to convince her, but she wouldn’t listen to me. She said that someday the same thing would happen to me. I’d meet someone I loved so deeply that I’d be willing to throw away everything for them. And then I’d finally understand how she felt.”

This means Lilith has already used the forbidden food from the Celestial Realm to save the human she loved. Lilith knew she’d be punished for it but loved this human so much she was willing to throw away everything for him.

Lilith’s conversation with Lucifer, her interfering with the lives of humans, using forbidden Celestial Realm food and her views on humans angered Father.

Especially since they went directly against all that Angels and the Celestial Realm stood for.

Belphegor words it best,

“ . . . You see, Lilith loved humans. She loved humanity as a whole. She used to talk to me about them and how we underestimated them. You know angels and demons are always trying to protect humans, or guide them or whatever? Well, she said that was insulting to humans.”

All of this lead to the decision that Lilith would be given the Celestial Realm’s gravest form of punishment.

This punishment does match the description of the punishment mentioned in Obey Me Shall We Date.

Wiped from existence so that nothing was left. Meaning her existence in the Celestial Realm, Human World and Devildom. She’d lose her wings, be cast down into darkness and unable to be reborn. Forced to wander through the darkness for all eternity.

Lilith was already going to be punished for breaking the rules. The severity of the punishment though was because of Lilith’s love for humans.

This decision was something Lucifer couldn’t understand. Yes Lilith broke the rules but she did it out of love. A love so deep it paired with the brothers.

He believed love was something beautiful. Was the love Lilith felt really so wrong? This ended up leading Lucifer to questioning his Father.

Mephistopheles Discussion/Analysis

Like Levi said in Nightbringer Lesson 13-A Mephistopheles is a jerk but MAN is his self imagine, backstory and desperation to be useful/full-fill his “life’s purpose” just . . . Sad.

On the Official Obey Me Nightbringer website Mephistopheles is described as:

A proud demon born to nobles. Raised from a young age to be a playmate for Diavolo, but he is worried that Diavolo will lose interest in him because of the appearance of the brothers.

However there’s so much more to it then that.

Mephistopheles was born with the sole purpose from his family to be Diavolo’s right-hand man.

A position he’s already begun to lose which terrifies him. Something so clear Mammon catches onto it when he tries picking a fight with the brothers.

Mammon: “Like, I think I know what the deal is with you. You’re scared that Lucifer’s gonna replace ya as Lord Diavolo’s right-hand man, aren’t ya?”

There’s a reason Mephisto mentions this to MC:

Which makes Mephistopheles’ reaction to Diavolo saying, “I consider you a dear friend.” sadder.

You still think of me that way.

Also it’s not a coincidence that Mephistopheles’ visits completely stopped a little after Diavolo took the brothers in.

Along with his father having him begin attending the House of Lord sessions more frequently.

It’s Devildom’s complicated politics and the House of Lords AKA Devildom nobility using Mephisto.

Despite him being the one to deliver the House of Lord’s letter to Diavolo they didn’t even explain the full extent of their plans to Mephistopheles.

The House of Lords is using the situation with Beel to put Diavolo at a disadvantage to increase the possibility of Diavolo failing the Kingsblood Crucible.

Which isn’t what Mephistopheles wants.

He tells the brothers, “As long as we refuse to accept you, your opinions don’t matter. You won’t be running things here in the Devildom.” Which is funny when that’s what the House of Lords is trying to do.

Adding onto this I find these lines when Mephisto is expressing his concern to Diavolo so interesting:

Mephisto understands Diavolo’s reason for allowing the brothers into Devildom. He just can’t understand why Diavolo is so invested on a personal level.

While Mephistopheles tries to be Diavolo’s right-hand man he is blind to Diavolo’s actual needs. Diavolo craves friendship, to be perceived outside his Royal status which Mephisto will not do.

Mephistopheles ALWAYS addresses Diavolo as Lord Diavolo even when he’s not around.

Mephisto also considers himself far more trustworthy then the brothers but has yet to realize his nobility and family make him someone Diavolo cannot fully put his trust into.

While with the brothers there’s the situation regarding Lucifer’s oath.

Some may consider Mephisto expecting us to escort him out to be snobbish but that’s curtsey among Devildom nobility.

Which is almost all Mephisto knows.

In the present day during Obey Me Shall We Date in the Memory Card Let’s Take Pictures we learn he’s never been to an arcade. In Hard Mode Lesson 70-6 we learn he’s never eaten a fast food burger, he gets driven around in a expensive car and has a butler. He lives a very sheltered life.

While Diavolo and Mephisto are on friendly terms in the present they definitely aren’t as close. It’s almost like there’s an even larger barrier or wall between them. Which is due to their inability to open up and understand each other.

Being something useful to Diavolo is still something Mephistopheles craves.

OG Lesson 68-7 when transported to the flower garden inside the Demon Lord’s Castle. Certain characters get taken in by a flower’s illusion. One of them being Mephistopheles and what he imagines is silly yet so depressing.

Mephisto just wants to be valued and seen as someone worthy. Especially to Diavolo.

Mephisto’s fight with the brothers in Nightbringer is the perfect example of how he will use his ego, be condescending and rude as a defense mechanism.

In the present day he will often praise/gloat about himself and against the brothers use the fact he was born a demon while they were once angels. To help him stop from feeling inferior. Second best. Not good enough.

However despite it all he still lives earnestly.

WHICH IS THE THING I LOVE MOST ABOUT HIM!!!

He doesn’t use his position in the Newspaper Club to spread lies. Instead only reporting the truth.

Lesson 68-17 : When Mephistopheles risks getting severely injured to save Luke. As everyone is praising him he responds to Luke saying, “It’s not like you need to thank me or anything. It wasn’t a big deal.”

Lesson 70-16 Hard: When fan letters for Asmo got delivered to the newspaper club he took the time try and bring them to Asmo. Luke told him he was really considerate.

Mephistopheles simply responded, “W . . .Well, it’s just a box of letters. It wasn’t that big of a deal for me to bring it here. And someone bothered to write and send each one of these letters. When I considered that, I couldn’t just leave them undelivered, could I?”

Lesson 72-17 : When MC bumps into him he catches us so we dont fall and hurt ourself. When you thank him he says, “I only did what anyone would do. There’s no need to thank me.”

Mephistopheles doesn’t perceive his kind acts as anything noteworthy because he simply believes that’s what everyone would do. WHICH ISN’T TRUE!

Even Luke comments how his behavior isn’t like most demons. Mephistopheles is the final key to helping Luke realize he was wrong about demons.

Lesson 77-A: The way Luke brings sweet treats to share with Mephisto, hangs out with him and when Luke falls asleep Mephistopheles lets him sleep there IS ADORABLE HOW CAN YALL HATE THIS MAN!!!!

Despite his rudeness Mephistopheles is such an interesting complex character and massive lovable dork who sucks at tongue twisters! I hope overtime he gets more fans!!!

Nightbringer Lesson 11 Lucifer Discussion

I’ve been playing Obey Me for three years and when I saw the dialogue option,

“You’re not actually angry, are you? That’s not it.”

I HIT IT WITHOUT A SINGLE HESITATION!!! BECAUSE I KNOW AND LOVE LUCIFER!!!

And that is the correct option if you want favor with Lucifer!! Sure it may have hurt him that we lied about being a demon but that’s not the problem.

The problem is that because we’re a human we’re on the side on humanity. While Lucifer has pledged allegiance to Diavolo.

Spoiler for Obey Me Shall We Date: Lucifer swore an oath after making a deal with Diavolo. In exchange for his loyalty Diavolo would save his dying sister Lilith by having her reincarnate into a human.

This is something the other brothers are unaware of and why Lucifer calls Solomon disgusting for weaponizing and throwing that in his face.

(Note: While Lucifer has sworn an oath he will always put his brothers above Diavolo.)

Lucifer may be prideful and strict with his brothers but there’s NOTHING he cares about more then them.

So a human who lied to them and has the ability to force them into submission, extract their powers and use it is a MASSIVE threat!!!

A threat he is not wanting to take the risk of especially when it hasn’t been long since he lost his sister Lilith.

When you first approach Lucifer he asks, “Why did you show up when you did? Why did you appear before us?”

He asking why did you come to Devildom now? What are your intentions?! He may ask that but truthfully it doesn’t matter to him. You’re a threat.

A threat he has to eliminate in order to protect his brothers and their new life in Devildom.

Lucifer will lean in your ear and ask right before painfully restraining you.

“Why did you appear before me?” He knows you know his intention. He can’t understand why you searched for him at the Fountain of Knowledge.

What do you want with him?

Because while Lucifer may suppress it and is putting his brothers before it. He has begun developing feelings for the player.

You can later say, “I want to protect all of you.”

Which gains you even more favor with Lucifer because that’s all he wants. He just loves and wants to protect his brothers AND I LOVE THAT!!!!

Us handing him the grimoire IS SUCH A BIG MOMENT!!! Nightbringer players might be unaware but a grimoire is SUCH a big deal!!!

So to hand that over despite the grimoire giving us a major advantage AHHHH MY HEART!!!!

Combined with the player promising to protect them!

Your pledge and actions leave him questioning himself on what’s the right decision. Is trusting you worth the risk it puts his brothers at?

I cannot wait for lesson 12!!! I NEED US TO RESOLVE THIS LUCIFER ANGST SO BADLY!!!!!

Diavolo fans were robbed . . . Imagine getting a scene where we see him dealing with the fact another important person in his life who he has a complex relationship with and many questions for is in a coma. ( ඉ _ ඉ ) THE ANGST!!!!

I LOVE seeing Nightbringer only fans talk about how they’d eat Solomon’s cooking. Completely unaware it causes your heartbeat to skyrocket, the screen to shake and is so rancid MC blacks out.

“ . . . This sandwich is truly awful . . . My tastebuds are crying out in agony, to the point that I’m seeing stars . . . The tips of my fingers are starting to go numb . . . What did he put in these things . . . ? This sandwich is so incredibly awful that I can’t even hear what Solomon’s saying . . . I see my life flashing before my eyes . . . I think this may be the end . . . ”

There’s a reason everyone’s reaction (besides Raphael) to it is this 💀

I mean this in the most positive way though because I think it’s SUPER CUTE you all love Solomon and want to make him happy by eating his cooking!!!

Unpopular Opinion but I’m okay with no more Birthday events. There’s such a large cast of characters that birthdays began to feel extremely repetitive.

So Birthday stories being contained in a special UR doesn’t bother me.

What DOES bother me is it’s a card you have to do gacha pulls for.

If they’re going to change it to that then I rather they just give us the Birthday UR or a Birthday SSR for logging in on their birthday instead of 30DP.

Nightbringer Tips for New Players PT. 2 - Obtaining Keys Fast

Once you obtain a card you’ll be able to read it’s mini story on Devilgram but you’ll need keys to unlock it.

In Nightbringer there’s only four ways to obtain keys:

1. Your Daily Task of summoning in the Nightmare 3 times. I CANNOT recommend enough not skipping that daily task because keys are one of the HARDEST resources to obtain in both Obey Me Nightbringer and Obey Me Shall We Date.

2. Ranking up your card in the Deviltree. Ranking up in Deviltree is the fastest way to obtain keys but the resources required makes it hard.

That’s why I highly recommend taking advantage of your Birthday: On your Birthday the cost of grimm to unlock the Deviltree is halfed (though the item requirements are still the same).

I recommend taking multiple N Cards and tackling the first rank up for them in the Deviltree.

It’ll cost 21 gems, 5 watches and 2,250 grimm to unlock the Devilgram. Unless you don’t manually level up the N card then it’ll instead cost 4,950.

You’ll get a lot of N cards early on in the beginning along with N memory cards so if your birthday isn’t for awhile I’d advise doing some preparation.

You could grind for keys very easily this way but if you don’t want to wait for your birthday instead it’ll cost 21 gems, 5 watches and 4,500 grimm to unlock (or if the card isn’t manually leveled up then 7,200).

3. Using Devilpoints to buy keys.

Devilpoints are the ABSOLUTE WORST way to obtain keys because it’s ridiculously expensive. It’s 90DP for 10 keys. For SSR cards it cost 16 keys to read a DevilGram and 18 keys for a UR/UR+ Devilgram.

Meaning you’ll have to spend a minimum of 180 DP just to read one Devilgram. Which is an awful deal.

Now if you have a Devilgram you’re DESPERATE to read and don’t want to wait then there’s one more trick to obtain keys.

4. Total Tasks. Go to your totals below your daily task. You’ll see one total is: Read a story on Devilgram.

This Total Task gives you 5 keys for every 20 Devilgrams you read.

You might be thinking if I’m already unable to read Devilgrams because I lack keys then how can I accomplish the task of reading Devilgrams for keys?

The first part to the story on every card whether you own it or not is FREE. Meaning you can select the first part to the story, skip it and that will count as one point to the total task.

There’s currently 69 cards out. So you could get 20 keys. Even more in the future as more cards are released and more 1 story free become available.
